Now, this kind of language from a supposedly partner country with which you have very deep engagement doesn't make any sense. Literally, Trump was insulting both India and China here. China gave a proper response from its side. However, India's response seemed very weak.
And I remember in yesterday's video, there were 8,000 to 9,000 comments. People were sharing their opinions, and most people, including me, were angry about India's very soft approach. At least we should say what is true here, that Trump's statement is uninformed, inappropriate, and made in poor taste. And finally, we are seeing that a proper response has come from India's side. See, there might have been some differences between India and the US regarding trade and geopolitical interests. A partnership develops. They are two big countries. Problems will inevitably arise. But you will see that all US presidents, whether Joe Biden, Barack Obama, or even George Bush, had a gentleman-like behavior regarding India. If you read their statements about India, no one ever spoke such indecent things about India as Trump has.
Although you can also say that Trump hasn't spoken ill of anyone. He spoke about Emmanuel Macron, saying his wife beats him, and said such things about many leaders. He has crossed such limits that literally, the US will need a gentleman-type president who can restore the dignity of the US presidency. And I will still say here that there is a lot of potential in India-US relations.
You might remember Donald Trump's first term; he was a completely different type of president. Now, in his second term, he is trying to pursue a new type of US foreign policy by being very pro-Pakistan and significantly reducing India's importance, in which he is not succeeding. But I can clearly see that whatever Trump writes or says in a muffled way on social media, the US officials around him, the rest of the US government machinery, start working to repair India-US relations in some way.
For example, Trump said what he had to say, right? He said "hellhole" about India and China, etc. They did the damage they had to do from their side. Immediately, other US government officials started damage control because who is going to explain to Trump now that what you have said is damaging 30 years of our diplomatic efforts? Tomorrow, if an Indian Prime Minister says something about you or the US, what will happen to the US's image in the Iran war? How will we feel? Obviously, they will feel bad.
And that's why as soon as Trump's "hellhole" statement came, the US Embassy spokesperson issued a statement. See, but before that, Donald Trump has also said that "India is a great country with a very good friend of mine at the top." He has said such things about Modi ji. Look, that's true. But the world doesn't work like this: you abuse me on Monday, say I'm great on Tuesday, and abuse me on Wednesday. At least there should be some stability.
And India is genuinely very important to the US. For the US's future plans, I would say there is no country in the world more important than India right now because the historical relations they had with the UK and France are not as strong, as both countries are quite in their decline phase. India will still grow, whether it grows slowly or fast is a different matter. But one thing is certain: if I talk about the overall trade relations between India and the US, it is going to increase. India-US trade will definitely hit $500 billion around the year 2030, and you will see its impact on the Indian Rupee as well.
I believe a time will come around 2029-30 when the depreciation of the Rupee will significantly decrease, which once happened with the Chinese Yuan. Actually, if I show you, around the year 2000-2004, you would get eight to nine Chinese Yuan for one US dollar. Gradually, as trade between China and the US increased, and the US started purchasing more things from China, the same will happen with India. As trade between India and the US increases, the US will be purchasing more from India, which will always happen because manufacturing in India is going to be cheaper.
So, what was seen with the Chinese Yuan. I am not saying it will happen exactly like that, because at one point, the Chinese Yuan reached six Yuan to one dollar, meaning it became very strong. Even today, if you look, you get around 6.5 Chinese Yuan for one dollar. But eventually, I believe as US-India trade increases, you will see its impact on the Indian currency, Indian per capita, the standard of living in India, everywhere. The US is very much important for India.
However, one interesting trend I am observing is that while India-US trade might increase significantly, it seems that in the coming time, many Indian Americans might shift back to India from the USA. The reason for this is rising racism. The online racism against Indians has now reached offline as well. You must have seen many videos where Indians, Indian children, often face racism in schools and colleges. Besides that, the opportunities that were once available in the US for jobs are not as many anymore. I can show you many articles and reports on this where it is written "American Dream Fading."
For example, regarding this "hellhole" remark by Trump about India, what was the main issue behind it? Targeting the concept of birthright citizenship in the USA. In the US, if anyone is born, even if the parents are not American citizens, the child automatically becomes an American citizen. Trump believes many people are taking advantage of this. Targeting Indians in this way, then what happened with the H1B visa, we have seen all that. It is being said that 40% of Indian Americans are considering leaving the US.
Here you will be able to see the political climate is at the center stage. Trump called India a "hellhole." Initially, India's response was quite soft. We all raised an issue on social media, and many people raised this issue. India then gave a strong reply. The story here is even bigger than this. I can clearly see that in the coming times, you will see the impact that many Indian Americans will leave the US and eventually come to India.

The political climate has become such, racism has increased so much, and when 71% of Indian Americans were asked what they think about the US, they said they do not like how Trump is handling the American economy, immigration, and international relations. And along with this, the treatment of India in particular, the way India is literally managing India-US relations today, it is clear that in this slogan of "America for Americans," they prioritize white Americans more. Discrimination is continuously increasing, and America will suffer losses because of this.
See, America is a land of immigrants. Immigrants built this country. Now, Trump has also said many times that if we need immigrants, why can't we get immigrants from Sweden? Literally, this is Trump's statement. And we are meeting such people, just let Denmark meet them. By the way, I would like to tell you that in countries like Norway and Denmark, the majority population is very white, with blue eyes, white skin, etc. So the problem is not with immigrants. The problem is not that immigrants are using birthright citizenship. The core problem, it seems, for Trump is that the immigrants coming are not white. They have brown skin or are coming from poor countries. Then they improve their lives by going to the US. So, the thinking here is very problematic.

If they come from Norway, Sweden, then I think such racist comments from Trump will increase in the future. Calling India and China "hellholes," he has also made many statements regarding H1B visas. I think he will say this because his core voter base likes this. And Trump knows that no one else has the bravery to openly speak such racist things as he does. So, I believe this is what will happen in the future. Trump will make some absurd statements, and later the US Embassy and other US officials will try to do some damage control, and this thing will keep repeating until the end of Donald Trump's term.
But the hope here is that just as we have responded to Trump recently, in the future, we will give a proper response in the same way. India-US relations are important, we understand their importance.
