All right, so a lot of people have been asking what's new on the 2019 Cruz versus 2018. So I got a '19 here, got an '18 here. Stick around, we're gonna take a look at the differences between these.
All right, so when I look at the exterior again, we got a '19 here, got an '18 here. We're gonna start from the front. I'm not gonna go over like every single little detail that's different. There's a lot of minor things, but let's look at some of the more notable things. These are both LTs, both no convenience packages or really anything extra. Very little things like this one, I have black bow ties added to its on the invoice. So nothing really major, but the fascias, you can see, are different. A lot more open here on the grill, a little bit lower on the upper grille chrome in between. You can tell you really see the difference there when you look at it from, from the front. Even just like the very lower parts, the fascia is just a little bit different.
I'll come around, get you guys a good look at the back here too. They both have the same engine, the 1.4 liter turbo engine.
All right, so we look at the back, not really any difference here on the Premiers. The '19s are gonna have LED, full LED rear lights. So that would be kind of a cool little add-on.
Well, look at this color. The only blue we had before was Kinetic Blue, a really bright blue. And now we've got the specific blue. So this is a new color in itself. This is going to replace the Arctic Blue that, well, like they're like light sky, baby blue kind of thing. So getting rid of that, that light blue, going with this medium to dark blue. And they're also adding an Oakwood Metallic, which is almost like a, like a medium brown color. It's totally new. So I'm looking forward to seeing that. I think we just had one come in, but it is being checked in. I haven't gotten a chance to grab it.
They both have 10 airbags for you and your family. They're gonna do some different rim options this year. They are changing the keyless access, which neither one of these has on it. It's an LT, I just went with mid-level trims. The keyless access, they used to be, you would have it on all four doors. It was just gonna be on the front two. A little bit different, not sure exactly why GM's going that route. But neither one of these has push-button start. But the '19s, if you go with an LT, remote start is standard. So with some of the upgrades and everything, there's only about a $200 more in the sticker, but you're getting more. I mean, remote start is a couple hundred bucks just by itself. So this one has a sticker, $22,670. If we look at the base of $21,520. And then we're gonna come take a look at this one here. That's the base, if $21,700. $200 bucks more, but you get any more. You're getting that remote start standard, you're getting a new style vehicle, you're getting the infotainment 3 system. I'm gonna pop into that. That's a big thing, big upgrade.
So here's the standard LT infotainment system on the '18. And then when we look at the '19, you'll see it looks a little bit different. Really all works the same, it's just a little bit different in the layout. I think this is a little bit more user-friendly on the '19.
The other big thing on '19s, they both have that auto stop feature, but on the '19, now you can turn it off. So there is an override workaround on the '19. Big, big plus. They're really glad to see GM jump on with that.
What else am I forgetting? A couple extra safety features in the '19s, not on the LT, but it is available on the Premier. Is a low-speed forward automatic braking and front pedestrian braking are available. I think they need like the confidence package too or something like that.
I think it's called a new thing. If you guys, again, these are just sedans. You guys know that there's a hatchback version. So it's the exact same from here forward, but here back, it's a hatchback. I do have some videos on that if you just want to see what they look like. The general body style and everything is all the same. Again, fascia has changed a little bit, some different things there. But then you only have the LT and the Premier for the hatchback. Before, now they're actually gonna have it in an LS, which is kind of cool.
And speaking of LS, used to be able to get a manual. No more manual. So everything on the new '19 Cruze is automatic. So you don't have that option anymore. Sorry. But you still get, again, that 1.4 liter turbo engine is exactly the same. Six-speed automatic transmission is the same. You get 0 to 60, I think it's in seven and a half seconds. Ten airbags, backup cameras still standard. You have a 106-inch wheelbase and it's about a hundred and, I think it's 183 overall inch overall length. So that ratio really works out nice. I think gives a good smooth ride. Malibu is gonna be a little bit nicer, but I think this is really not, not bad. I'm the sedan, you get 14 cubic feet of storage space and 93-94 cubic feet of passenger space. Up front, just under 3000 pounds, no matter which one you get. So it's a fairly lightweight vehicle. Great on gas, you're getting about 40 miles to the gallon highway, 30 city. And you got about a, just under a 14-gallon tank to it.
It's a great car whether you go with '18 or '19. Again, some of the big things, just a front end look, you're getting remote start standard on the LT, you're getting an infotainment system 3, and you are getting the remote start or the auto stop override on the '19s. Those are probably the biggest things that you need to know about what's changed from the '18 to the '19. We're starting to get a ton of these in. We've got quite a few.
