The app that you're using to learn Spanish doesn't really want you to learn Spanish, because if you learn Spanish, then you wouldn't need the app. That's the problem with language learning. In this video, I'm going to fix that for you.
I want you to be conversational in Spanish, assuming that you're not already conversational. I want you to be conversational in Spanish in 20 days, 30 days, 1 month, okay? This video, I'm going to show you exactly how we do that, okay?
The method is called "Easy as 1, 2, 3." All you need is a notebook. Chat GPT might help you. Anything can help you. Other people help more than anything, by the way. But "Easy as 1, 2, 3" only using a notebook, and this is exactly what I do in my video course in school. Link is in the description. There's already a course made, a video course, ready for you, following this technique.

So, one is a statement. Actually, before that, you start with a topic, okay?
So, here's what you do. Even if you don't know any Spanish whatsoever, we're going to use Spanish as a map for you to understand your life. That's the thing. We're not trying to learn Spanish. You're trying to use Spanish for what it is. Language is a map. Whether it's your first language or any language, it's a map. So, you use the language to map things out. You talk about how things happened in time, right? You tell me, "Oh, the other day this was going on." You talk about space. A language is a map of space and time. So, we need to start creating the map that is Spanish so that we can use that as a way to map out your life.
So, think about the main parts of your life. Those are topics, okay? So, I'm going to write the word "topic" there. Hope you can see it. You think of a topic. For example, if the topic is family, uh, figure out how to say "family." So, you could go to Chat and be like, "Hey, how do you say family in Spanish?" And it's "la familia." All right. "Hey, Chat GPT, how do you say family?" "La familia." And that'll be your first topic, okay?
Any topic is good. You could think of family, or work, or fun, or hobbies, um, travel. There's no limit, and there's no specific order to the topics that you need. That's one of the things that that app or that book is keeping you down with, because they're like, "Oh, this is, you know, this is the order." You do, we know. We know you don't know. Uh, so you have to do, you have to keep coming back to this. No. Think of any topic at all. It's family. "La familia" could be, okay?
And here's what comes next. One is a statement. So, you need to think of a statement on that topic. No matter what your topic is, you want to talk about coffee? I like talking about "el café." Then you'd have another statement. For example, "Love coffee." Okay? Whatever your topic is, that's going to automatically become a statement, right? Give me any topic, you could think of a statement about it, okay?
Uh, so the family. What if you said, "Oh, I have a big family"? "Tengo" [clears throat] "una familia grande." "Tengo una familia grande." I'm not going to spend too much time like teaching the specific specifics of Spanish here, because you can easily turn around and just do whatever you want. But I wrote "tengo una familia grande," okay?
Now, every statement is going to have a verb nucleus, okay? "Tengo" is "I have." Like, think dancing tango, however you do that. "Tengo" means "I have," okay? So, um, you have what? Depending on the topic. "I have coffee" if maybe "tengo café" right now, you know? But no, we're on the family topic. So, "tengo una familia grande." You get it?
Now, when we come down to two, right? 'Cause it's "Easy as 1, 2, 3." Two is when we take that same statement and we figure out how to put it into a question for the other person. 'Cause at the end of the day, it takes two to tango. You know what I mean? Takes two to have a conversation. It's a two-player game. It's tennis. You need another person. It's chess. You need another person, okay?
So, we take that verb nucleus: "tienes." Was that too fast for you? Trust me, [snorts] "tienes," okay? "Tienes," watch this: "¿Una familia grande?" Same vocab from one. You just turned it around, okay?
So, you can say, "Hey Tony, ¿tienes una familia grande?" And I'll either say, "Sí, tengo una familia grande," or, "No." Let me put that little "no." You see that little "no" on top of "tengo"? "No tengo una familia grande." Okay? What about you? "¿Tienes una familia grande?" You either say, "Sí, tengo una familia muy grande," or, uh, "no, no tengo una familia grande."
And of course, we could branch out into, "What about brothers and sisters? What about, um, sons or daughters, or granddaughters, or grandparents?" Could tell me where I, we could branch out through the family tree here and get specific right away. We'd still use "tengo" as the verb seed of that family tree. That is a conversation tree. "Tengo." Tell me all of the... You got kids, brothers, sisters. "Tengo hijos, tengo hermanos. Tengo abuelos, tengo tíos, tengo primos." I have this and that. Form two, do you have that? Ask me, Tony. "¿Tienes hermanos? ¿Tienes hijos?" "Tienes." Instant conversation. So, talk about learning or becoming conversational in Spanish in 20 days, your convert your, it's conversational in Spanish in 20 minutes.
Three is an open-ended question. "How many brothers and sisters do you have?" "¿Cuántos hermanos tienes?" Notice that "tienes" from two drops down into three. "¿Cuántos hermanos tienes?" Same verb. Yes/no question: "Do you have siblings?" "¿Tienes hermanos?" Three, if so, then how many? Open-ended question: "¿Cuántos hermanos tienes?"
And it only goes up to three, everyone. It's "Easy as 1, 2, 3." Not "Easy as 1, 2, 3, 4," or "5," or "6." No. Stops at three: statement, yes/no question, open-ended question. For instant conversation. If you can have conversation in Spanish instantly, then imagine what you can do in a month.
The thing that blows me away is when people have been studying Spanish for years, but I, I still can't speak. That's like, it's like been saying, "I..." Let me take that again. That's like saying, "I've been learning to play chess for 10 years, but I never had my first game." Or, or even better, "I've been learning to play tennis for 10 years, but I've never actually stepped out onto the court." "I've been learning to swim for 20 years, but I still haven't gotten into the pool." What have you been doing?
