Imagine you need to study 50 video competitors, read 10 paid articles, and create a report for your boss from this. Doing it manually would take a week, with a laptop LM a couple of hours. And with the tools I'll show today, about 15 minutes. We will analyze specific extensions that solve the main pain points: mass downloading, access to closed content, and proper export. I will show with real examples how this works for a marketer, HR managers, and everyone who values their time.
The first tool I want to talk about is called Notebook LM Web Importer. And if I could only keep one extension, I would choose this one. Why? Because it solves the most frequent problem. The copy-paste problem. How does it work? Imagine you are doing research, you have 15 tabs open in your browser. These are articles, news, some blogs. To put them into Notebook LM, you need to perform the same ritual 15 times. It's long, it breaks your train of thought. What does this extension do? It allows you to upload everything you have open into your notebook in literally a couple of clicks.
Let me show you how to install and configure it. And then we'll analyze a real example. You go to the Chrome extensions store, type the name in the search bar, and click install. Everything is standard. After installation, a small icon will appear in the top right corner, where all the icons are. I recommend pinning it immediately so it's always at hand.
Functionality. Look at what it can do. Single page import. You are reading an article, you like it. Click the extension icon, select your notebook from the list, and click import. That's it, no need to copy the link, no need to switch tabs. The article has already flown into your knowledge base.
Mass import. This is my favorite feature. The extension has a tab that shows a list of all your open browser tabs. You can simply check the boxes next to the ones you need. So, take this one, take this one, and this one too. Click one button, and all 10 articles fly into Notebook LM at once. This, unfortunately, only works with a paid subscription.
Working with RSS for advanced users. If you read news through RSS feeds, this extension can fetch the latest articles directly from there. This feature also only unlocks with a paid subscription.
Let's see how this helps in real life. Suppose you are a marketer or a small business owner. A client comes to you and says: "We urgently need to check the prices and offers of our competitors. You have a list of, say, twenty competitor companies. How would you have done this before? You would have visited each website, looked for the prices section, copied the text into an Excel table, then looked for the services section, and copied again. This is hellish work for a whole day. Eyes get tired, numbers get mixed up.
How do we do it now? Now I open my browser. I open 20 tabs, one for each competitor. I just go to their pages with prices or service descriptions. Now I click on the Notebook Lab Web Importer icon, and I see a list of all my open websites. I go to the first website and import it into Notebook LM. I select the notebook I created in advance. Moving on. The second extension is called Notebook LM Quick. And it has one superpower that others don't. The thing is, the regular Notebook LM, and the first extension too, work great with public websites. That is, with those that are open to everyone: Wikipedia, news sites, blogs. But we often work with information that is hidden. For example, an internal corporate portal, an online course you bought and logged into with your credentials, a paid magazine subscription. If you simply copy the link to such a site and give it to Notebook LM, it will say: "Sorry, I can't read this." Why? Because it doesn't have your password, it hits an authorization wall.
What does Notebook LM Quick do? It works directly in your browser on the page you have already opened. That is, if you have logged into a website, entered your password, and see text with your eyes, then this extension also sees it and can send it to your notebook. How to use it? Installation is just as simple. After installation, an icon appears. Let's imagine a situation. You are an HR manager or head of a department. A new employee joins your company. Your company has a huge internal portal, Wiki or Notion, where everything is written: how to take vacation, how to set up a printer, who to contact if a chair breaks, what our mission and values are. This is hundreds of pages of text. Access is only by password. The newcomer arrives, is given a password, and gets lost. They start bothering you every 5 minutes. Where to find the forms? How to order a pass? You spend a lot of time answering the same questions. Simply giving a link to Notion in Notebook LM won't work, there's a password.
How do we solve this with Notebook LM Quick? You sit down at the computer or ask the newcomer to do it. Go to the internal portal, enter your login and password, open the most important pages: IT instructions, office rules, vacations and sick leave, company structure. On each page, click the Notebook LM Quick icon and click send to notebook. Since you are already authorized in the browser, the extension easily sees the text and transmits it. We collect all these instructions in one notebook called "New Employee Assistant." What do we get in the end? The new employee no longer runs to you. They have a personal assistant. They go to Notebook LM and ask: "This is brilliant. You've created a smart knowledge base from closed content in literally 10 minutes.
This extension also works great with YouTube playlists. If you need to upload not one video, but a whole playlist, for example, a lecture course, it can do it in batches. But we have a separate specialized tool for videos, which we are talking about right now. It's called YouTube to Notebook LM. We live in an era of video. Podcasts, interviews, lectures, webinars. Information in video format is probably even more abundant than in text now. But video has a huge drawback. It's long to watch. To find one smart idea in a two-hour podcast, you need to spend, well, 2 hours or click around for a long time trying to guess the moment. Standard Notebook LM can work with video, it's true, but this extension makes the process many times more convenient and deeper. What's special about it? Channel synchronization. You can follow a specific channel. Import of entire search results. You can send a YouTube query, it will give you a list of videos, and you can import all these videos into Notebook LM at once. Import of a specific video. How does it look? You go to a video page on YouTube. Below the video, next to the like and subscribe buttons, a new button from the extension appears. You click on it and the video flies into your notebook.
Let's take an example that is close to many. Suppose you want to become an expert, say, in biohacking, or in cryptocurrency, or in marketing. You are subscribed to the top five experts in this niche. Each of them releases two interviews a week. Each interview is an hour and a half long. That's 15 hours of content per week. Who has that much time? Well, almost no one. But you need to stay informed. How do we use the extension? You open the latest interview of your favorite expert. Use YouTube to Notebook LM to send it to a special notebook called "Marketing Trends 2026." Do this for five to six recent videos over a month. Now you have a summary of 10 hours of conversations in your notebook. You go to the chat and write, what are the main trends in SMM mentioned by the experts in these videos? Highlight only what is repeated by everyone, and provide links to the specific minutes where they talk about it. And the AI gives you a list. Trend one: short videos dominate. Trend two: authenticity is more important than filming quality. You read this in 3 minutes, you understood the essence. And if a point interests you, for example, about authenticity, you look at the timestamp, open the video exactly at that minute, and watch only that segment. You save tens of hours of your life, but at the same time know the material better than those who watch everything in the background. You work with information precisely, like a surgeon. This extension turns YouTube from a time-eater into the most effective knowledge library.
And finally, the fourth extension. It solves a problem you encounter at the very end of your work. It's simply called Notebook LM to PDF. Look. You've done a huge amount of work. You used the first extension to collect competitor data. You used the second to get data from closed sources. You used the third to extract insights from videos. You asked the AI the right questions and got brilliant structured answers. And this answer is hanging in your chat. Beautiful, intelligent text. What to do with it if you simply highlight it with your mouse and copy it into Word? Something terrible will happen. Headings will become plain text, lists will fall apart, bold font will disappear, tables will turn into a mess of symbols. It's shameful to send something like this to a client or boss. Sitting and manually arranging paragraphs for half an hour is sad.
What does this extension do? It adds a magic export button. You install the extension. Now, in the Notebook LM interface, directly above your chat, a PDF button appears. When you click it, a settings menu opens. You check the desired boxes and click download. You get a perfectly formatted document with beautiful fonts, clear indents, highlighted headings, as if a designer typeset it.
Imagine you are a consultant or a freelancer. A client commissioned you to do research. Find out what topics are currently popular in our niche. You conducted research in Notebook LM, and the AI wrote you an excellent ten-point strategy. Option A - without the extension. You copy the text into an email, it looks like a wall of text. The client skims it and is not impressed. "Well, okay, thanks." Option B - with the extension. You click the export button, add a title page checkbox, write "Content Development Strategy for Romashka Company" there. Download the PDF. Send this file to the client. The client opens the file.
