Hello guys, welcome to the channel. And today, we will talk about a Hollywood movie whose name is Blow. So let's start with it. Okay, so Blow is a 2001 American biographical crime film directed by Ted Demme, about an American couple, George Jung, and his international network. David McKenna and Nick Cassavetes wrote the screenplay based on Bruce Porter's 1993 book, "Blow: How a Small-Town Boy Made $100 Million with the Medellin Cocaine Cartel and Lost It All." For the screenplay, it is based on the real-life stories of U.S. truck driver George Jung, played by Johnny Depp, and his connections, including narcotics kings Pablo Escobar and Carlos Lehder. The film also features Diego Delgado and the Medellin Cartel.
So let's start with the plot of that movie. George is young, and his parents, Fred and Ermine, live in Weymouth, Massachusetts. When George is 10 years old, Fred tries to trade files for the bank, but tries to make sure they realize that the money is not important. In the late 60s, an adult Georgie moved to Los Angeles with his friend Tuna. They meet Barbara, a flight attendant who introduces them to Derek Foreal. With Derek's help, George and Tuna make a lot of money. Kevin Dooly, a visiting college student from Boston, tells them about the demand for marijuana back home. They start selling marijuana there, buying it directly from Mexico with the help of Santiago, a Mexican drug lord.
Two years later, George is caught in Chicago trying to import 660 pounds (300 kg) of marijuana and is sentenced to two years imprisonment. After unsuccessfully trying to plead his innocence, George's girlfriend, Barbara, dies from cancer. His death makes the disbanding of the group of friends. While heading from the authorities, George's parents, George's mother, calls the police, who arrest Michelle. He intends to serve 26 months in a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut. Delgado has contacts in the Medellin Cartel and convinces George to help him go into the cocaine business. Upon his release from prison, George bullets his parole conditions and heads down to the cartel in Colombia to meet with Diego. They meet with the cartel officer, Cesar. Rosa negotiates the terms. As the smuggling operation grows, Diego is arrested, leaving George to find the best way to sell 50 kg. George reconnects with Derek in California and sells all the cocaine. George then goes to Medellin, Colombia, and meets Pablo Escobar, who agrees to go into business with them. With the help of Derek, George becomes Escobar's top U.S. importer. At Diego's wedding, George meets Cesar's fiancée, Mirtha, and later marries her. However, Diego represents years of keeping George's identity secret and pressures George to ditch his connections.
