Sword x Staff: BE THE BEST KNIGHT - Comprehensive Build Guide

Yuuma20:33

Transcription

Greetings, travelers. Welcome to another Sword and Staff [music] video. This is Yuma here, and I'm going to do a comprehensive guide on Knights. All the things you need to know about Knights, the different builds I use, uh, different builds that the number one Knight, well, in our, in the server, is using [music] as well. Uh, had a good talk with Shear. Oh, he's not number one anymore. Oof. By 2K. He's off by 2K. But we're going to have advice from Shear, uh, who is the co-lead for Void Seekers, the guild I'm [music] in. Um, and yeah, just give you the ins and outs of Knight and why we love Knights. Knights Knight lives matter. >> [laughter] >>

But, uh, first off, I want to show off the core skills that we're going to be showing off here. Um, these are all the skills we're going to be using for the build. I didn't put in the defense or HP charms just because, uh, ideally, you don't need those once you have all of these. Uh, the only thing that's missing in this infographic is the Iron Fortress charm, the one that buffs all allies' defense. That's unfortunate. Uh, I tried to put it in, but I was having some troubles. It wasn't really working or cooperating with me. Uh, but that's something to keep note. These are the the charms [music] and techniques you should be going for, uh, for these Knight builds.

But first off is the AoE Knight build that, um, I used before in a previous video, the Ripple guide, uh, Knight build. So, if you've seen my Ripple Ripple build, uh, this is the same thing. Uh, I think the only thing that's different are the charms, and I'll give you a reason why, um, after just talking with, uh, Shear or just evaluating Shear's different builds. But, um, the whole point of this build is using Boro, uh, and his awesome dope, uh, uh, active or passive, uh, ability, which is to cast a shield automatically, uh, whenever you lose 15% of your max HP accumulative. Doesn't matter if it hits shields. As long as you're losing 15% [music] of your HP, um, via damage, then you, you get this shield applied to you. And it can trigger up to five times per battle, and it's based off, of course, on your defense. So, this is a defense scaling build. Something to take note of. But yeah, Boro is the champ when it comes to AoE clearing. This is definitely highly recommended for solo exploration as well as Astro Ascent. Um, or, no, it's not Astral. Sorry. Fantasia Ascent. I think that's what it's called. Always get really confused with these names. They're very, uh, long-winded.

It also applies cold stacks, three stacks, uh, per ripple impact. And it stacks up to 10 times. Now, what cold stack does is basically increases the damage water element does. So, you can do, I think, I think it's, um, let's just double check here. Cold stack. Uh, ripple. Flavor text. Increase water damage taken by [music] 5%. Stacks up to 10 times. So, once it's 10 stacks, you're doing 30% [music] increased water damage, which is really, really solid. Um, Pursuit of Victory is really great. You have a flat damage bonus of like 14%. I mean, again, the the stats may vary a little bit depending on your rarity of the buff or of the skills, as well as, like, [music] how many levels you got into it. Uh, and then Sunder Efficiency, 25% increase. Basically doing more technique damage to enemies [music] affected by elements or debuffs. Elements being like cold stacks, um, the stun, taunt, uh, airborne, not so much. I think airborne is the only one that doesn't count as an element or debuff. But everything else like taunts, [music] stuns, def down, uh, all that stuff counts. So, keep that in mind. [music]

And then Eye for an Eye is great for multi-enemy situations, so large crowds, because you're stacking up damage every time you get hit up to 10 times before your next attack. So, usually you have all these like mobs that are coming to attack you. I think we can actually showcase that. Hold up. So, to test, let's say, wrong one. So, you want to go top right monster group one. There you go. Okay, start battle. So, you can see here if you click yourself, all the buffs. So, every time they attack me, uh, I'll get a stack of Eye for an Eye, and then it'll increase my damage every time my next attack happens. So, theoretically, if 10 people attack you, then you're going to have a 30% damage bonus. Um, so, very, very handy. Something to keep in mind. This is why it's the goated AoE build for exploration and Fantasia Ascent. It's super, super good. Um, wouldn't be so helpful against like a boss, which will be the next build when we're talking about single target boss, uh, builds.

Okay, so next is the single target boss build. This is recommended build for, I would say, Conquest, for the Guild Raid, and Crucible of Aermon, Kieramon, whatever it is [ __ ] called. Uh, Valor Surge buffs you, buffs the team. 13% damage boost or whatever damage boost. >> [music] >> Great. It's always, uh, helpful. It also dispels one random element or debuff. Super awesome. Reckoning Shield, you're trying to apply it, uh, stun. Stops the boss from freaking leaping around like a leap frog. Also does pretty good damage. Stunning Strike, same concept. [music] Just trying to lock the boss in place. But also great base multiplier damage. Uh, and then Heavy Impact is your core skill that you're going to be using. Uh, I just noticed that Heavy Impact grid [music] is wrong. [ __ ] sake. Uh, but it's okay. I'll fix it. Not for this video, but for when I put it in the, uh, the Google Drive document. But it should be a single target skill. It's not. Dude, I wish Heavy Impact was AoE. But, uh, it is, it's just one target, one tile in front of you. Sorry about that. Apologies. [ __ ] happens. Um, but yeah, Heavy Impact, really strong.

Now, here are the passives. Now, with with, uh, bossing, you don't really need to worry about like Death Shield, Ripple Build stuff. Death scaling, so just full on attack. So, you want the Warrior Essence, Insightful Eye, >> [music] >> uh, and Strength Rules. The Strength Rules looks a little off. Apologize for that. AI [ __ ] up again. You're going to notice the AI, uh, infographics for each build is a little bit different. I try to make it consistent, but we're not there yet. Uh, maybe a couple years. Or not a couple years, just a year. Uh, but yeah, here's the actual Strength Rules icon, how it looks. So, just keep that in mind. [music] And then Pursuit of Victory just makes the most sense. You get a flat damage bonus as well as the Sunder, uh, bonus to technique damages when they're under a stun or an element or debuff. You're going to be paired with probably sorcerers and sages, so I'm sure they're going to have burns and attack [music] down stuff like that. So, super handy, super great.

For the pet, obviously best in slot is going to be Nixaurus. What's it called? Let me pull up the Phantoma Phantom. Oh my gosh, I'm cooked. Sorry, it's it's like 10:52 [music] p.m. But here's the freaking Phantomon's legend. You're looking for Nixarcon. This is the ideal attack [music] pet. But obviously, if you don't have it, Zealot Leader or Cows will do just fine. If you don't have any of that, then Salco. Just any attack pet will do for this attack build for single target bossing.

But moving on, we're going to do the PvP reflect build. We do have footage for this. Shear shows some video footage showing off their PvP reflect build in action. But it's basically mainly for 1v1. You're going to be applying Luminous Shield for the high block chance. You're going to have Heavy Impact as your main bread and butter attack skill. Can't be counter-attacked 'cause you're going to be knocking them airborne, which is great. Leap Attack is amazing. Leap Attack needs more love. [music] It's not only a good gap skill, but it also has a chance to reduce your def- [music] the enemy's defense by 30%. So, it's a 30% def down [music] chance. Really solid, really strong, good close gap, decent damage, and it has great utility. For Stunning Strike, great damage multiplier, also chance to stun, right? Can't go wrong with that. >> [snorts] >>

Now, for the charms, I'm so sad, bro. I don't even have Rebound Shield yet. This is a freaking disgrace. But yeah, Rebound is the core charm, I guess you could say, for this build. It's all just basically reflecting the attacks based on your own defense, which is huge. Huge, really good, really good. I can't go wrong with that. And then you have Eye for an Eye. So, again, the multi-hit attackers, that's when you're getting that crazy juicy damage bonus stack up. And then Block Awareness, obviously, you want to block for the Rebound Shield, 'cause it's every time the caster blocks an enemy's attack that you do the damage reflect. So, that's why you want Luminous Shield and Block Awareness to get as much block rate as possible to proc Rebound. Iron Fortress, again, [music] these, uh, I'm sorry, these graphics are not how they look in game. So, Iron Fortress is this one right here. It's the team, uh, defense buff. But the reason why you want this is it's again, not only like 12% defense boost, but also the fact that the effect is unique and cannot be dispelled. So, you don't have to worry [music] about players dispelling this off you. It's a permanent 12% buff, basically, which is great. It's huge. So, no reason not to do it. Which is the reason why Chariot has gone with this build and opted to do it. So, hey, again, uh, I recommend it. It's great for 1v1. To not too sure for 4v4 and 2v2. I'm sure they'll do just fine, but, um, maybe there's other options. Uh, by the time TVT and 4v4 comes out, we'll probably have Paladin as well, so probably more build diversity when, uh, the time comes.

Okay, now for Phantomon's, [music] um, honestly, they can go different ways. You can either go Armopi, Terragon, or [music] uh, just an attack pet. Um, if you have Aegis Wing, sure. Um, or Nix. I, I feel like those are the best options. So, Nix, Aegis Wing, >> [music] >> Armopi, or Terragon. I think Terragon was noted as the PvP, um, Phantomon. Let's see. User deals physical damage once to one of the targets with a 50% chance to reduce their [music] attack. Honestly, I see it. Yeah. I'm going to, I would go Terragon. Probably Terragon for PvP. Um, I was thinking Armopi just 'cause death [music] scaling for your rebounds, your reflex, you could do that. Uh, I would not go Boro just [music] because this is a two-tile range attack for the Ripple build. It's not that [music] great, I would say. I mean, maybe some shielding sustain, I guess, but, uh, I'd rather have something more active like this. Reduce their attack with 25% and it's pretty solid for one turn. [music] So, uh, I would say ideal build for the PvP reflect build would be Terragon. Uh, of course, if you have the mythic pets, then obviously [music] you would choose the mythic pets. Uh, pets pics pets. Oh my goodness, I'm struggling to talk. Uh, Nix Arkon again has a death reduction, so this is a no-brainer to get Nix Arkon if you have it. >> [music] >> It stacks up to like minus 30% def reduction. I do not know if it stacks with Leap Attack def [music] down. If it does, then that's 60% def down. But again, I don't know the details of that yet. So, just >> [laughter] >> bear with me until we can figure those details out in the future.

But yeah, the final build, this is the fourth build. This is the general purpose build. This is the one you're using if you're the main tank, if you're taunting or bosses, mobs, etc. for your team. You get Valor Surge for the damage boost. You got Heart of Challenge for the taunt. Frostbite Blossom, which is [music] great AoE damage and also water element for those who have Elemental Mastery. You can make use of that. Ricochet Shield for the the stun chance as well as good damage there. The charms, let's see. The charms, Iron Fortress. Again, doesn't look like that, but you get the gist. It's the [music] def buff for the entire team. It cannot be dispelled, which is great. So, it's a permanent def buff. Can't go wrong with that. Block Rate Awareness. It's always good to have block rate so you can damage reduce [music] any damage coming. Shear put Blade of Lament here. I guess some life steal, life sustain is always good, especially if you don't have any healers around. You can kind of sustain yourself a little bit longer throughout those fights, those long fights. I feel like you could ideally, you know, switch that out for something else. This is all just, you know, preference and opinion. >> [music] >> And Pursuit of Victory works with taunt. You know, it's an element, it's a debuff. So, this increases the damage, uh, that casters will use with their technique skills. So, it'll increase your damage for Frostbite Blossom and Ricochet Shield once they're taunted. So, great synergy there. I would say the only thing is Blade of Lament, you could change to something else if you wanted to. >> [music] >> Um, again, not everyone's going to have all these skills. I completely understand that. That was like, not everyone's going to have this. So, if you don't have it, fill it in with an HP charm or a defense [music] charm. No one's going to shame you for that. Like, they're, they're handy. They're good to have. >> [music] >> Um, especially you can see if that's scaling and HP you need for tanking anyways, right? So, I wouldn't stress too crazy. Do what you can with what you got. These builds are just kind of a guide, tool tip for you to understand the potential, I guess you could say, for the build. Um, but yeah, this is your just like general purpose build that you would use for pretty much anything. Um, Phantomon's defense pet, I would say, uh, >> [music] >> not Boreal. You would probably use Armopi in this situation for the defense scaling. You get a shield after three stacks, uh, of defense up, so really good for tanking for those long situations. [music] Boreal's just mainly the gimmick pet for the Ripple build, basically. Um, but yeah, I would say that's about it.

Um, a lot of people are going to ask like, what's the ideal Phantomon to get? Especially between Aegis Wing and Nyx Arcan. I'm going to be straight with you. Shiro chose Nyx Arcan. He's a trailblazer. Trailblazer means you're at the top [music] 10 of the ranks. You're one of the biggest whales. If you're the number one Knight in your server, you're kind of gimping yourself by going Aegis Wing. I would say if you're a free-to-play Knight, then go Aegis Wing. But if you are like the top dog in your server, I would, obviously, go Nyx Archon. It does great crazy AoE damage. It's very frequent to proc that active as well. And then also the fact that it just has def down. Like, def down is insane. It's really strong. Um, so I, I don't see why you wouldn't use it. Um, here is a site. Give me 1 second here. Here's the site here. Uh, let me just pop it up. Here's the Nyx Archon, the passive that you use. So, when a damaging technique is used on enemies, deal dark damage once to one [music] of the targets and all enemies two grids around. 100% chance to inflict def reduction, uh, max stacks of three for two turns. Um, if you saw the previous, I would go back like the previous clips of Shear in PvP, it's that big black circle AoE. Really strong, really good. [music] So, definitely you rock that. Don't worry about these three skills. These are for when you evolve your pet. But, uh, it's just more damage. [music] Really good. Um, so yeah, I'll link this, uh, database in the site. It's another YouTuber, Sefie. Great tool tip. Has all the guides you want except how to play Knight. That's why [music] I made this video because there's no how to play Knight. So, I'm capitalizing on that. But has everything you need to know. Even has the com- panions for the Collab coming out June 2nd. Has all the other cola, uh, companions from the future regions too. So, super, super nice. Has all the skills too. All the way to, uh, tier five, I think. Tier five. It's crazy. I don't even know any details on tier five, uh, yet. Wait, hold on. Berserker, Conqueror. Tier four, sorry. Getting ahead of myself. Wait, no. Knight, Paladin, [music] Guardian, Templar. Survive. Yeah, anyways, has all the the the skills here. So, I'll link this again. Yeah, compliments to Sephy for making [music] that really good. Um, but, yeah.

That's pretty much it for this video. Hopefully, it was helpful. If it wasn't, well, [ __ ] I know you're not a Knight, probably. But, I appreciate the support. I was sorry for this video being a little bit late. That was just a long day. I work in finance. Month end is is long. It's it's tiring. It's exhausting. So. Anyways, I'm glad I got this video out. Thanks again to Shear for sharing his tools and tips. And, uh, I'll see you guys in the next one. It should be next video should be about the the tournament. There's [music] a tournament, literally the guild competition, tournament literally in 9 hours, next reset. So, that's going to be dope. And then I think the next video, uh, after that is probably Guild War. Uh, Guild Clash, 1 day 9 hours. So, next video, tournament. The next video after that, Guild Wars. Huge. Um, yeah, this is [music] pretty much the end of day 10. I'll see you guys in the next one. Cheers.
