When someone says "nice to meet you," never say "nice to meet you too." #oldmoney #wealth

When someone says, "Nice to meet you." never say, "Nice to meet you, too." It sounds polite. It also sounds forgettable. Old money settled this question a long time ago.

The first few words out of your mouth quietly announce your confidence, your class, your presence. So, they choose those words deliberately. Three rules.

Rule one. When you meet someone, don't echo them. Smile, hold their eyes, and say, "The pleasure is mine." Warmer, more deliberate, impossible to forget.

Rule two. When someone says, "You've changed." don't defend yourself with, "No, I haven't." Say, "I hope so. Growth was the goal." That's confidence where they expected insecurity.

Rule three. When someone compliments you, never shrink with, "Oh, it's nothing." Say, "Thank you. I appreciate that." Accepting a compliment with composure is quiet self-respect.

But, here's the part that matters most. The people with the most presence in a room don't speak more. Automatic words make you invisible. The room files you away before you finish the sentence. Chosen words make the room lean in, and everyone listening decides in those first seconds exactly how much weight your voice carries.

What's an automatic phrase you hear every single day that instantly makes someone forgettable? Put it in comments.

The quiet discipline behind choosing your words isn't taught anywhere. I put it into a short ebook called The Quiet Wealth System. You'll find the link in my profile.
