You only have self-esteem, which means esteem for yourself. The only way to have esteem for yourself is not by what people say to you. People can tell you your whole life you're beautiful, you're wonderful, you're smart, and you can feel like it's not true. People can tell you your whole life you're a piece of crap, and some part of you can say, "Screw you. I will show you," and it doesn't stop you. True.
So, it's not what people say to you. The only way you have self-esteem is by pushing yourself to do things that you know are incredibly difficult. And when you do things incredibly difficult, you have esteem for yourself. It's not how your parents treated you. It's what do you do with your life?
So, if we want to have an extraordinary life we deserve, we've got to say, "It's winter." That's not a bad thing. I'm going to ski, snowboard, build a fire, learn, grow, expand my business, expand my world. And when everybody else is fearful and thinking it's the end times, no, it's we're about halfway to two-thirds the way through winter when you start to study people historically. I can't tell the exact number of years. We probably have four to eight years max of this that we still have to deal with, and then the system will change, and we'll have to adapt. But the greatest gift you have is the ability to run this, and this.
