All right, bola buddies. So, in this video, I am going to show you how to sell on whatnot. Three, two, one.
Basically, I'm going to show you my setup. I'm going to show you how to set up a show, like create a show from scratch. I'm going to show you how to clone items. I'm going to take you and screen share an actual show with you. I'm going to show you how I add an item, how everything is set up from start to finish for everybody that is completely confused. I know when I did my first show, I wanted to see how things were set up. So, in this video, we're going to go over a whole bunch of little details that you might not know about whatnot.
Now, part two is going to be how to ship on whatnot. And many of you have asked me, how does it work? How do I know who got what? How? How? How? How? How? So, in the next video, part two, I will go over all of that and it will be titled How to Ship on Whatnot. All right, let's get started.

Okay. So yes, it's a complete mess, but I want to show you my setup here. So I have a ring light which is right here. And then I also have this ring light right here. This is where which you'll see later in the video where I put my phone. So earlier today I did an untangling which I did not get finished. So, you'll see more of that in a future video. And you can see that I kind of have stuff everywhere. There's stuff back there. There is stuff under the table because I am always pulling items. So, you can see I've got more inventory in those totes. That's for my next um let's see, the black one is the 18 gallons of jewelry. That one over there is for my next this and that show. But I wanted to give you a different angle here of the ring light. So when I use this, if I want to face it up on me, I just pull the ring light up like that. So it has different angles. You can also turn it. This is really great for if you're doing jewelry. Uh, I do keep my computer here on the left hand side of me and you're going to actually see a preview of me doing an actual show. So stay tuned. I'm going to walk you through the whole thing. But my computer goes right here on my left. I'm sitting in a chair right here which has jewelry on it. And then to my right, I've got all of my Ziploc baggies. And again, it's a little bit of a mess. I've got my little tiles. If I do pick two, pick three. I have a magnet, a ring sizer, a marker, my shipping um scale, and then a bust or a what do you call it? What do you guys call it? I call it a bust. Everybody gives me a hard time for calling it a bust. Uh, display, my necklace display. So anyway, I do keep uh something like this on top of the jewelry so that when I'm showing it because my camera is facing down, I can put the jewelry on here and it'll give a better closeup of the item instead of just something sitting on top of all the jewelry. So that's a nice little tip if you're doing like an untangling.
All right, so the first thing we're going to talk about is how to set up a show, schedule a show. So you're going to click schedule show. You're going to put in a title and then you're also going to put in a description. How detailed you want to be is completely up to you. Now, once you have a show scheduled, can you change it? Yes. Don't delete it. Just do an edit. That way, you do not lose your bookmarks. You want to keep all of your bookmarks. So, if you have to change it to a different date or a different time, just go in and do an edit. Super easy. Remember that, guys. Do not ever delete a show.
All right. So, I'm setting the date right now. I'm setting this one for December 3rd. It's way far away. I've got lots of shows scheduled ahead of this. Please go and bookmark those shows. I will add my thumbnail and my video later. Right now, I'm going to put in my tags. At this time, I'm planning on this being a jewelry show. I may change my mind before December 3rd. I'm going to be honest with you. It may become a Goodwill Bins um unboxing. It may become a this and that vintage to now. It may become hair accessories or hats. I have no idea. But this one is a jewelry show. So, I am doing the flat rate shipping. And I'm going to click the flat rate shipping on both of these. So, the most my buyer is going to pay during this show is $8.35. This is a great option for small items.
All right. So, you can see I have my phone attached. This is what I'm going to be showing today. We're going to be going through and untangling. So, I have opened up my phone. I'm going to click on whatnot. And I am going to go down here to profile. I'm going to click shows. And today at 10:25, I'm going to click on that. So, I'm starting the show from my device. That's very important. Now, if you create a show and you do a test mode, never ever ever try to go live with that same show. All right, the test show, delete it when you're done with it and start a new. All right, so we're going to click start show.
Now, you can see it says, do you want to start this live stream? I am already connected to YouTube. If you were not, you would click this button and it would ask you to link account and then you would have to put in your Google password. And then once you do that, you are you're connected. All right. So, when I hit go live, I automatically go live to YouTube. I recommend if you have a YouTube channel doing this. Um, if you don't have a YouTube channel, you might want to get a YouTube channel and have a really cool title that will maybe draw people over to your whatnot. Completely up to you. So, we're going to hit go live. And you can see my camera's upside down, so I need to flip it so that it's down on the jewelry. Hey everybody, welcome in. I am doing a tutorial right now as I am going to be doing this show. So, I'm going to be answering questions and I'm going to make a YouTube video to help you guys know how to sell on whatnot. All right, so we are right here at the beginning and I'm going to pause there because you guys can see that this is now live.

What I like to do when I'm doing an untangling is have something that I can place on top of it so that I can show the item that I pulled out. All right, Cat feeling thrifty is here. So the first thing I'm going to show you is how to set up a giveaway. You go to your show, you click add, and then you hit um this information that you're seeing right here. and you're just going to write giveaway. At least that's what I do. Um, you can add more details if you like, but I'm usually just picking a giveaway really quick before the show. I have done some giveaways that were gifted to me by Lucky Day Shop, and I did include that information there, but you're putting in the weight, and you're getting your giveaway set up before the show. And then you can go in and you can just double check and make sure it's there by clicking on the giveaway tab. So, that is how you set up a giveaway. So, I guess we're going to dig in.
I'm going to show how to add a photo from your laptop. Cat feeling pretty put out a video on how to use your iPad and your phone together. I use a MacBook Pro and I'm going to show you how to do that. All right. So, let's find something here that we want to sell. So, let's go ahead and run this first. So I am going to hit shift command4. And when I do that, it is going to allow me to take a screenshot of this item. So this is not prepared. I did not preload for this show. So everything I'm doing auction. I'm going to click add under the auction. And this is going to be item number one for me. And I'm going to start this at $3. I'm going to add my photo right here. you can see my video on how to ship. So, that's coming soon. And then I'm going to confirm it and then you're going to see it over here on the left hand side. All right. Product action. Actions. I am going to start auction. I'm going to change this to 15 seconds because I don't think it needs to run for 30 and we want to move quickly. So, we want to show as much as we can as you know in a short amount of time. So, here we go. It's running for $3 at 15 seconds. If anybody's interested in beads, the craft made necklace, whatever you want to do. And if it doesn't sell, I'm going to put a number one on it and I will sit it to the side. With this item, nobody had any interest in. That happens sometimes. So, I'll put it in a bag with number one. It's going to go over to the side under my auction tab. And if anybody wants me to rerun that at any time, they can say run number one. Because during your show, other people are coming in. That's why I think it's smart to add photos and leave the items under your auction tab. I do have some items. I have seven items that did not sell last night that are under my auction tab. If you guys want to take a look at that and ask me to show you any of those items, I can do that. So, I cloned those over.
All right, I do have a few. Uh, let's see. These are fish hooks. Does anybody crack this lady? It looks like she may have been approached. She is fine on the back. So, you're going to have another pin on her. And it looks like she needs glued a little bit here. So, she's a little But look at all those gems. This is a picture of her. But how cool is that? How cool is that? Let's run it. This is going to be number three. So, I'm putting in number three. I'm going to start the price at $3 because I think it's rad. I am going to add TLC for title. And here it is. Grabbing my phone. And here we go. We are running 15 seconds for $3. It is TLC. But look at all it does. It is signed by an artist. Artist signed. It does need a plan. Another thing that I always tell you guys to do is make sure that you tell people the condition of your jewelry or any item you're selling because the last thing you want is for somebody to get your item. You want to hear closeups front and back. Then you want to talk about anything you see that's wrong with the item. Okay? That way the customer is not unhappy.
All right, you guys. So, if you go up to this little button right here, it's going to say create a raid. And then you're going to type in oh gosh, C or K. See, and Cat feeling thrifty. She's right here. So, I'm going to click on her picture. And then I'm going to hit send. And then I'm going to hit raid now. Continue. All right. There you go. That's a raid. Another question I get asked a lot is, "How do I clone?" So, you're going to click on the house. You're going to hit add and you are going to clone from your last show. So, I'm looking for the date of my last show. I'm going to click on that. It is then going to pull up all of the items. I am going to select all, confirm cloning, and it takes a few seconds. So, you just patiently wait. And then once you do that, you're going to get an update that all of your items have now been cloned over to your show. And there they are. So, I'm going to look at my buy it now section, and everything is over there from my past show. Why do I clone from my last show? Because I always sell things from the buy it now from the show.
Thrifty here. I've had several people ask me how I use my iPad and my iPhone together for my whatnot shows. I'm going to show you how to do that. It is so very easy. The first thing you're going to want to make sure of is that you have the WhatNot app loaded on both your iPad and your iPhone. Once you have that app loaded, go to your settings, which you will see at the top right. There's three little lines I just clicked on. And you'll see it over here as well on the iPhone. Let me show you that three. Actually, there's only two little lines there. You're going to scroll down to your settings and make sure seller tools is on. I highlight all of them, turn them all on. I don't think it can hurt anything. Then I go over here to my phone. And of course, mine are already lit up, so we're good to go there. Now, once you do that, let's go back to your show area. Now, the thing to keep in mind is you're always going to start your show with your iPhone. Always. That's the most important thing to remember. A lot of people make the mistake and try to start it with the iPad, and it does not work that way. The iPhone is only going to be used for displaying your items to your customer. is working as your camera video for your customer to see what you are selling. You won't do anything with your phone once you start your show. So, what we're going to do is start a show and I have a test show loaded and I have put it in private mode. If you don't know this already, you can do a private show that only you can be in or if you invite someone to come into it. It's wonderful. You can test your lighting, your setup. I do it before every show just to make sure everything's working. Okay. So, I've already loaded one. As you can see, it says test. So, I'm going to open the show and down here it says start show and go live. We are now in. And if you can see there at it says you are in a private show, which is on my iPhone, which is on the right side there. So, that tells me no one else can see this stuff I'm doing right now. So now you're going to go over to the iPad and you're going to open your show. Now one of the things a lot of people don't realize is you will not see the items you're displaying on the iPad. It will only show on your iPhone. Your iPad is going to be used to enter your items in for your auctions and giveaways and to watch your chats and to do a chat. you can type things into, which we don't normally do that while we're on the show because we can talk to the people. So, as you can see, I'm going to use my remote so you can see that my camera is going to see well the item that I'm showing, right? But you won't see that on the iPad. So, don't panic. Now, for the iPad, you're going to hit the plus sign just like you do on your phone. You can take a picture with the iPad. And this is what I love. Take a picture of the item before you auction it or give it away. And I love that feature. And you're going to do that. So my camera, this is probably not the best thing, but at least you have an idea, right? So I'm taking a picture of it and continue. And then I can list my item just like you do on your iPhone. I'm not going to go any further than that because I think if you're doing shows already and you're using your iPhone already, you know how to do um setting up a show. If not, whatnot has apps on that and they also have apps on how to add your items for your shows. Well, I hope this helped and I hope you guys have some great selling in the future. Thank you.
