You've tried cutting calories. You've done all the ab workouts. But that belly fat, it won't budge. Here's the real reason.
Your insulin is too high. Insulin is your body's fat storage hormone. Insulin insulates. And when it's elevated, even slightly, your body refuses to burn fat, especially that deep visceral fat around your organs in your belly.
And it doesn't take a donut to spike it. Even healthy foods like oatmeal or fruit or low-fat yogurt keep insulin high all day long. The key, you need long stretches of low insulin to unlock fat burning. That means cut the carbs, stop the snacking, and eat meals that don't trigger these constant spikes like high-fat, high-protein.
I tell patients that are really struggling to have all of those before 3:00 in the afternoon. And for sure, no eating after sunset. Some patients need to fast for 36 hours before their insulin finally reduces. Because until your insulin stays low for long enough, your body will protect that belly fat like it's.
