Good day, beloved brothers and sisters all over the world.
Scripture for today: Amos 3:7. "He has revealed his confidential matter to his servants."
From the beginning of time, Jehovah has been a God who communicates. He has never left his faithful servants in the dark about his purposes. When Amos wrote the inspired words in Amos 3:7, he captured an unchanging truth about God's dealings with humanity: that Jehovah always reveals what we need to know when we need to know it.
In our modern era, when the world is overflowing with uncertainty, fear, and speculation, how reassuring it is to serve a God who speaks with clarity, love, and perfect timing. Though we may not yet fully understand every prophecy or every unfolding event, we can rest assured that Jehovah's timing and revelation are always flawless.
Just as he revealed his purpose to Noah before the flood, to Moses before the Exodus, and to Daniel before the rise and fall of empires, he continues to reveal vital spiritual truths to his people today. Let us discuss how Jehovah reveals his confidential matters, why he does so at the right time, how Bible prophecy unfolds according to his timetable, and how we can respond with faith and appreciation as we await the fulfillment of the greatest events yet to come.
In the Bible, the term "confidential matter" refers to sacred information or divine secrets known only to Jehovah until he chooses to disclose them. These secrets often concern his purposes, judgments, and future actions. Jehovah alone possesses perfect knowledge of the future. As Isaiah 46:10 declares, "From the beginning, I foretell the outcome and from long ago the things that have not yet been done."
Throughout history, Jehovah has entrusted portions of his confidential purpose to faithful humans, prophets who acted as his mouthpieces. Noah was told about the coming flood long before the first raindrop fell. Abraham was informed of the destruction of Sodom before the fire descended. Moses learned of Pharaoh's stubbornness before standing in his court. And Daniel was shown visions of future kingdoms that stretched far beyond his lifetime.
What does this show? Jehovah does not act without giving warning, guidance, or encouragement to those who love him. He respects his servants enough to prepare them for what lies ahead. His purpose is not to surprise his people, but to strengthen their faith so that when events unfold, they recognize his hand and remain confident in his control.
Many faithful servants have longed to understand prophecies that were not meant to be revealed in their lifetime. Daniel himself said, "I heard, but I could not understand." (Daniel 12:8). Jehovah's response was gentle but firm: "These words are to be kept secret and sealed up until the time of the end." (Daniel 12:9). This teaches us an essential truth: Jehovah reveals understanding progressively. His timing is perfect. He discloses what his people need to know exactly when they need it, not too early and never too late.
For example, the disciples of Jesus expected the restoration of the kingdom to Israel immediately after Jesus' resurrection. But Jesus told them, "It does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction." (Acts 1:7). Only after receiving Holy Spirit and seeing events unfold did they begin to grasp how the messianic kingdom would truly function.
In the same way, today we may not fully understand every prophecy. Some details remain sealed until Jehovah, through his organization, reveals them. But we can be certain of this: Jehovah will never leave his servants without the light they need to stay faithful and make wise decisions.
Consider the record of fulfilled prophecy. Every promise Jehovah has made has come true exactly as foretold. The flood occurred on schedule. Babylon fell when predicted. The Messiah arrived at the appointed time. Each of these events proves that Jehovah's word is reliable. When we reflect on this record, it strengthens our conviction that the prophecies yet to be fulfilled, including those about the peace and security declaration, the destruction of false religion, and Armageddon, are certain to occur. (1 Thessalonians 5:3; Revelation 17:16, 17; 16:14, 16). Our trust is not based on speculation but on Jehovah's proven record of accuracy.
The Bible gives us a clear outline of what will happen before the end of this system of things. First, a proclamation of peace and security will be made. This may appear to be a moment of stability or relief for the world, but the calm will be deceptive. Almost immediately afterward, the world's political powers, represented in prophecy as the 10 horns, will turn on Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion. (Revelation 17:15-18). This destruction of false religion will be sudden and total. Nations will no longer tolerate her influence or hypocrisy.
It is not for us to predict the exact timing of these events. Jesus made that clear when he said, "Concerning that day and hour, nobody knows." (Matthew 24:36). But we can be certain that these things will happen. Each step brings us closer to the fulfillment of Jehovah's purpose for a righteous new world.
Jehovah has always used an organized body to communicate his messages. In ancient times, it was through prophets. In the first century, through the Christian congregation guided by the apostles, and today through his visible organization that provides spiritual food at the proper time. (Matthew 24:45-47). By paying close attention to this channel, we benefit from timely spiritual direction.
Jehovah does not reveal his confidential matters to every individual independently. Instead, he provides understanding through the faithful and discreet slave class, ensuring that his people remain united in belief and action. This arrangement reflects Jehovah's wisdom and love. Without it, confusion and division would easily spread. But under his direction, his organization moves forward in harmony, preaching, teaching, and keeping alert for the fulfillment of prophecy.
History is filled with examples of Jehovah revealing his confidential matters at pivotal moments:
* To Noah: Jehovah revealed the coming deluge and gave instructions for survival. Noah responded by acting on that revelation with faith. (Genesis 6:3-22).
* To Abraham: Jehovah disclosed his will for Sodom and Gomorrah, showing confidence in Abraham's faithfulness. (Genesis 18:17-33).
* To Joseph: Through dreams, Jehovah revealed future famine, enabling Joseph to prepare and save lives. (Genesis 41:28-36).
* To Moses: Jehovah revealed his purpose to deliver Israel from Egypt and gave detailed laws that shaped their identity as a nation. (Exodus 3:7-10).
* To the prophets: Jehovah revealed coming judgments, restoration promises, and messianic prophecies that strengthened the faith of his people.
Each of these examples illustrates Jehovah's consistency. He always reveals enough information for his servants to act faithfully and courageously, but never so much that they lose the need for trust and dependence on him.
When we think about future events—the great tribulation, the attack on God's people, or Armageddon—it could be easy to feel anxious. Yet Jehovah's purpose in revealing these matters is not to instill fear, but to reassure his servants that he is in full control. Faith in Jehovah's promises transforms fear into confidence. When we focus on his record of faithfulness and his love for his people, we realize that no matter what lies ahead, Jehovah will sustain us. He will not allow us to be crushed by trials or overwhelmed by fear. (Isaiah 41:10).
Jehovah's confidential matters are not for us to keep hidden. He reveals them so that we can help others learn the truth. Each time we share a Bible prophecy with someone and explain how it is being fulfilled, we are acting as part of Jehovah's communication process. When we show people that the Bible accurately foretold world conditions, wars, food shortages, earthquakes, and moral decline, we help them see that Jehovah's Word is reliable. (Matthew 24:7-12). This can awaken faith in honest-hearted ones who are searching for answers. In this way, our preaching work becomes a continuation of Jehovah's revealing activity. We act as messengers of his confidential matters, proclaiming the good news of his kingdom before the end comes.
Whether we live to see the end of this system or die faithful before it arrives, our reward remains the same: everlasting life in the new world. (John 17:3; Revelation 21:3, 4). That hope gives meaning to our endurance and helps us stay balanced when the world grows darker.
It is easy to be distracted by speculation, conspiracy theories, or curiosity about unrevealed details of prophecy. But the Bible counsels us: "The secret things belong to Jehovah our God. But the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever." (Deuteronomy 29:29). Our focus should be on living faithfully with what Jehovah has revealed, not on guessing what he has not.
Jehovah's confidential matters unfold beautifully over time. As each prophecy is fulfilled, our appreciation for his wisdom deepens. We see his promises come alive before our eyes, and our confidence in him grows stronger. Patience is essential as we await Jehovah's next revelation. Jesus told his followers, "Keep on the watch because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming." (Matthew 24:42). This means staying spiritually alert, studying, praying, and supporting the congregation regularly.
Those who stay awake spiritually are never caught off guard. They see events unfolding in harmony with prophecy and recognize Jehovah's direction in them. Like faithful watchmen, they stay alert, ready to act when Jehovah gives further instruction. Patience also reflects trust. When we wait on Jehovah, we are acknowledging his sovereignty—that he alone decides the right time for each revelation. Waiting faithfully is not passive. It is an active demonstration of loyalty.
Amos 3:7 assures us that Jehovah will not act without revealing his purpose to his servants. This truth fills our hearts with peace and confidence. We may not understand everything now, but we know enough to trust Jehovah fully. The future is not a mystery to him, and he has promised to reveal what we need to know exactly when we need it.
As the climax of this system draws near, let us stay close to Jehovah and his organization. Let us continue to value the spiritual light he provides, avoid speculation, and help others appreciate his unfolding purpose. Like faithful servants of old, may we be found alert, obedient, and full of faith when Jehovah reveals his final glorious act—the vindication of his sovereignty and the restoration of peace throughout all creation.
In the meantime, we keep praying, studying, and sharing the good news, confident that Jehovah, the revealer of secrets, will never abandon his loyal ones. Indeed, as Amos declared long ago, "the sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants, the prophets." That promise assures us that the God who guided Noah, Daniel, and the apostles still guides us today, and will continue to reveal his purpose until his will is done on earth as it is in heaven.
