I'm recording on my laptop. I'm going to need somebody. I know you can't, but I'm going to need somebody to follow me around and record. Jacob, I'll give you 25 extra points if you follow me around.
Okay. So, here's what you're going to have to do. All right. When I go around, you're going to have to hold my laptop. Okay? Can you do that? And you're going to have to make sure that I'm in it. What you're going to follow me around for like 10 minutes. Okay?
All right. Do you have a good grade in here? You have a good grade. But you know this assignment is worth 25. So since I know I will give you bonus points too for. You're you're a bargaining man. Okay, guys. I'm going to explain what's on the board. We're going to go through it. And guys, remember, we're recording today. I'm recording from my laptop. Do not worry. This is only for me. Hello. Hello. You're late. All right. Who would like to pass one of these out to everybody?
Would anybody like to pass one of these out to everyone? Can I get a trusty assistant? Nobody. Thank you. Yes. Okay, I'm gonna pass those out and then we're going to get started. Jocelyn, Alice, you got to be here on time, my friends. Crystal, did has anybody seen Crystal today?
All right, Joseline is here. Okay. Yeah. Come on, Jacob. You told me that you would help, man. You gonna help or not? You're not gonna mess it up. You don't have to be. You don't have to be a famous director. What's that?
Okay. Enzo, actually, who would like to help me record today? You have to follow me around for 10 minutes holding my Mac. King, you want to help? Just 10 minutes. I'm just going to need you. But you're going up with Ethan.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. He's in your scene. He's in your scene, remember? He gets his eyes burned. Um, let's see here. Elon, could you help me record for 10 minutes today? Actually, no. Um, who would like to help me record for 10 minutes? You just have to follow me around with the laptop. That's it. Anybody?
No. Nathan, can you help me, buddy? What's that? That's it. And I'll even pretend like I didn't see that. Okay. Thank you.
Okay, guys. Your journal's in there. I'm going to give you guys one more minute to do your journal. This is not your journal. It's in schooly. It's number three. It's just about your dreams. That's it. Thank you so much. Journal three. Journal three.
Okay, guys, attention, attention. I have passed out a piece of paper. Do not get overwhelmed by all this. I know this is a lot of writing on a very small board. Okay. So, today we're going to continue the acting skills that we've already been talking about. So, by the end of class, you will rehearse and you're going to perform your superhero committee audition and you're going to use intention, projection, and collaboration. Okay? In the scene, you're going to be auditioning like we did yesterday in front of a superhero committee. And the superhero committee is going to decide whether or not you're selected as an official superhero. Okay? So, it's a rehearsal space today. Don't be nervous. Mistakes happen. I want you guys to just take a big swing and I want you guys to be goofy and I want you to have fun. Okay?
So, let's review our vocabulary. All right. Intention. Does anybody remember what intention is? I don't want you to read it off the board. Anybody remember what intention is? Yes, David. The reason a character is doing that. The reason a character is doing something that they do very simply is what your character wants. That's intention. Projection. Anybody remember projection? Yes. Luke. Loud. Loud. A lot of times we think we're being loud, but we're not. This is a very big classroom. There's a lot of us in here. So, make sure your voice fills up the whole room. So, projection is using a clear, strong voice. And then collaboration. We've been doing this since day one, Ethan. Working together respectfully. Working together respectfully. Absolutely. So a lot of times whenever we're collaborating with each other, we might have an idea and somebody else might have an idea. But if we both have two different ideas, we compromise and we learn to work together, right? So our goal today is just to keep doing these skills that we've been working on. Remember, nothing has to be perfect. Okay?
So watch me for a moment. This is me with intention. If I come in and say, "I'd really like to that TV to you." What did I say? I would really like to sell that to you. Uh, TV. You said Teemo. See, because I didn't project, right? And plus, I didn't have a real clear intention. Okay, let's turn the computer down, please. I also didn't have a real clear intention. But if I say to you, "I'd really like to sell that TV to you." Voice was loud. I had clear intention. Right? So, that's what changed.
So, uh, can I get two volunteers? Two brave, brave, brave volunteers. What's that? Two brave volunteers. Selvin, how about Selvin? You good? Okay. Can I get two brave volunteers? Two brave volunteers. Anybody? Okay. Alex. and then Ethan. Thank you. All right. Table in the back. Need you guys to pay attention. Okay. All right. So, I want you to give them a line. Alex a line and Ethan a line. So, what's Alex's line in one word? One line. You can say. A line. Yeah. Something very simple. One sentence. Chip. It's a word. How about I love chip? A word or chip? No, no, no. A line like we spoke about yesterday. I love computers. Okay. And then Jacob, what's a line that Alex can say? What? So Ethan's is I love computers. I love computers. Your line is both I love computers. Okay. So, Alex, I want you to say, "I love computers" as boring as possible and as quiet as possible. Okay. Good. Good. Now, I want you to say, "I love computers" with intention and projection. Guys, I just love computers. Good. Good. Good. Okay. Now, Ethan, I love computers. And I want you to say it with no emotion. I love computers. All right. Now, I want you to take that intention and be excited. I really love computers. All right. Good job. Good job, guys. Good job. Good job. Go ahead and have a seat. Go ahead and have a seat.
Okay. So, you guys are going to work in your groups and remember your scene is superhero committee audition. Your audition must show a superhero power. You need to clearly show what your character wants from the committee and include everybody in your scene speaking. Okay? Everybody has to say something. So you guys are going to rehearse first and later a few groups are going to perform in front of the class. So go ahead and get in your groups that we did yesterday. And guys, I'm going to be walking around giving you guys feedback while you're rehearsing. So, make sure All right, Liam, we'll have you do the same thing. You did so good yesterday. So, we'll have you guys rehearse over there with.
She act like she's a superhero. Yeah, pretty much. Okay. No, no, no. All you got to do. Okay, just follow me around for a moment. Okay, bud. So, you'll turn this way. Thank you.
Okay, guys. Who over here is a superhero? Um, so me, King, Yael, me, David. Um, Alice is also the first. So, okay, you guys are all superhero. Do you guys all know what your intention is? Oh, yeah. For superhero, obviously I'm Superman. Like, I'm confident that I'm just going to be the next like superhero of the town. Okay. So, your intention is to get higher obviously like the next big superhero. Like I look I look down upon everyone. I think that everyone's like below me and I think I'm going to win it. But. So your intention is just to win. It's just that. Warrior instinct. Do you know your intention? You know get the job and. Good good and then king. My intention is to win and get as much money as I want. Get get unlimited resources. I love that. Selvin, what about you? What's your intention? What's your intention? What you want? Remember, what your character wants. To achieve being a new member. Yeah. You want to be part of the group. You want to be part of the group. I love it. And then new superhero the city. To be the big new intention is to hire a superhero that will protect. Right? Cuz you're the boss. You're the one who is you're the wizard of Oz basically. You decide what happens. And then Liam, would you say you want to be the fastest? Fastest. Cool. Awesome. Thanks, guys.
Also too, guys, make sure that you guys reject today. Guys, this is a note that I've had to give in a few people. Make sure that you always project, okay? Cuz we don't know what your intention is or anything. And you can't get hired as a superhero if you don't project. All right? Be careful with the chair, please. Even though that's part of the scene. Can you please close up? I know you're not going in there. Wait till. Do you know what you're doing? Okay. What is. Why are why are we laughing? What's so funny? What is your superhero's intention? Look right in the camera for me. Save the day. Save the day. All right. Good job. Good job, guys. Good job. Remember guys, keep in mind what is your superhero want? What does your character want? If you're part of the committee that's hiring, How can you make your intention clearer for the audience?
Hey guys, pause for a second. Hey guys, pause for a second. Guys, pause. Quiet. Everybody's doing a good job today. But remember, the two biggest things are your voice. Make sure it's clear and how you can make your intention more clear. Because some of you guys, while you're rehearsing, you're talking very quiet. Remember, we have to use our voices. Okay? All right, guys. Quick note. I want everybody to do their line, but project even more than you already are. This is the one time it can get noisy in here. I want everybody projecting. Yeah, you can. All right. All right, guys. One more minute and then we will put these up. One more minute. We're not going to. Sure. Yes. What's up? I want that group too. I encourage you guys to, but you don't have to today. We can do tomorrow. Okay. Just make sure we're ready. If we don't make it to today, make sure you're ready tomorrow, okay? That we're probably just going to have room for one group. You have. A big compliment. Bro. What's your egg? Stop. Stop that. I want to water. Everybody does except for. Who is Lee? No judge. I. Love his eyes.
Okay, guys. All right, that's time. We're gonna go through a few superhero committee auditions. Guys, let's go ahead and have a seat. Go ahead and have a seat, everybody. All right. Hey, guys. I know we're rehearsing, but let's go ahead and have a seat just for a minute. Okay. You can set up here in a moment. All right, Salvin. Come on, friend. Let's go back. All right, Enzo, let's go back to our seat. Enzo, Enzo, back to your seat. Okay.
All right, guys. So, we are going to watch a few rehearsals. Um, as we're watching, remember, I want you guys to look for our vocabulary. Intention. Notice what their character wants while they're acting this out. Projection, guys. Make sure that we're projecting and notice how well they project. And then also collaboration, how they're working off of each other. Okay, so our first group, I believe, is going to be this group. Awesome. Rock and roll.
Okay, guys. I need all of you to close your laptops right now. Close your laptops. Elon, come on my friend. Close your laptop. Isa Natalie. Thank you. Okay, great guys. All right, so I want everybody to be quiet. All right, please clear your tables. Everybody clear your tables. Okay. All right, we're going to be quiet on three. Everybody face the audience, please. Two. Jacob. Come on. All right. Waiting for everybody to be quiet. Soon as this bell rings, I want you guys focused. Jesse, please close your laptop, my friend. Three, two, one. Well, there we go.

Um, by audience, audience, what did we notice about the superheroes intention toward the committee? What do they want? What was their intention when they were going up and presenting their skills? Like I do this, I do that. What was it that they wanted? Elon. Uh, they wanted a superhero. They already were superheroes. What did they want from the committee? Oh, they wanted them to hire them. Right. It's as simple as getting a job. I want to get hired on this job interview as a superhero. All right.
