Six weapons God placed in your hands and the enemy hopes you never use. Let me tell you something most believers forget. You are in a war. Not a war with your boss. Not a war with your neighbor. Not even a war with your circumstances. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 KJV, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
This is spiritual. That anxiety that came out of nowhere. That sudden wave of discouragement. That temptation that feels stronger than your willpower. That whisper telling you you're not enough. That is not random. And here's the part the enemy hopes you never realize. You are not defenseless. God did not send you into a battlefield empty-handed. He did not save you and then leave you exposed. He equipped you. He armed you. He empowered you. The problem is not that believers lack weapons. The problem is many believers don't know how to use them. Some of you are fighting with your emotions when you should be fighting with authority. Some of you are trying to survive when you were designed to overcome. The enemy thrives on ignorance. But today that ends. Today you are going to see the weapons God already placed in your hands and when you understand what you carry, fear begins to lose its grip.
[music] You are not a victim of darkness. You are a carrier of light. You are not barely making it. >> [music] >> You are more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37 says, >> [music] >> "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Not maybe. Not someday. Now. >> [music] >>
Let's start with the first weapon. The one Jesus himself used when hell tried to confront him face-to-face. The word of God. The sword of the spirit. Listen carefully. When Satan came against Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus did not argue. He did not negotiate. He did not panic. He spoke scripture. Every single temptation was answered with three words, "It is written." Matthew 4 shows us something powerful. Jesus said, "It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4 KJV. Notice that. He didn't say, "I feel." He didn't say, "I think." He said, "It is written." The word of God is not just information. It is a weapon. Ephesians 6:17 calls it the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. A sword is not decorative. It is offensive. It moves forward. It cuts. >> [music] >> It divides. It drives back the enemy. Hebrews 4:12 says, >> [music] >> "For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword." Quick means alive. >> [music] >> When you speak scripture over your fear, it's alive. When you declare God's promises over your family, it's alive. When you answer temptation with truth, it's alive. The enemy attacks with lies. You're not good enough. You'll never change. God has forgotten [music] you. You've messed up too much. And if you don't know the word, those lies start to sound like truth. But when the enemy says you are condemned, you answer with Romans 8:1. "There is [music] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." When fear tells you you're alone, you declare Hebrews 13:5. "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." When weakness overwhelms you, >> [music] >> you stand on Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." You don't [music] fight thoughts with feelings. You fight lies with truth. But here's the honest question. Are you carrying your sword or is it collecting dust? Owning a Bible is not the same as wielding it. Posting a verse is not the same as believing it. >> [music] >> Highlighting scripture is not the same as speaking it in battle. The word must move from pages to your mouth. Declare it in your house. Declare it over your children. Declare it in your car. Declare it when your mind tries to spiral. There is authority when a believer speaks what God has already said. And hear me clearly. The enemy trembles when you know the word. Because a believer who knows scripture cannot be easily manipulated. A believer who speaks scripture cannot be easily defeated. >> [music] >> This is your first weapon.
Pick it up. Prayer. Your direct line to the throne. Let me ask you something. When pressure hits your life, what do you do first? Do you panic? Do you call everyone else? Do you try to fix it in your own strength? Or do you pray? Because prayer is not a religious routine. It is not empty repetition. Prayer is access. Immediate access to the throne room of almighty God. Hebrews 4:16 KJV says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace [music] to help in time of need." Boldly. Not timid. Not ashamed. Not uncertain. Boldly. Prayer is not weakness. It is warfare. James 5:16 says, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." That word availeth means it produces results. Prayer moves things. Prayer shifts atmospheres. Prayer changes hearts. Prayer releases peace. Prayer invites divine intervention [music] into impossible situations. The enemy knows this. That's why he fights your prayer life so aggressively. He'll make you too busy. He'll make you too tired. He'll whisper, "It won't matter anyway." But listen to me. The moment you pray, heaven listens. Philippians 4:6-7 [music] says, "Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." "And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Did you catch that? Prayer doesn't just change circumstances. It guards your mind. Some of you are fighting anxiety when you should be fighting in prayer. Some of you are carrying burdens God never asked you to carry. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you." Not some of your care. All of it. When you pray, you are declaring dependence. And dependence on God is strength, not weakness. Jesus himself prayed constantly. [music] If the son of God needed prayer, what makes us think we can survive without it? Prayer is where strategies are downloaded. Prayer is where strength is renewed. Prayer is where fear dies. You don't need fancy words. >> [music] >> You need faith. You need sincerity. You need consistency. Start your morning with prayer. End your day with prayer. Whisper prayers in the middle of chaos. Because when you pray, you are not talking into the air. You are speaking to the king. Pick up this weapon.
Use [music] it daily. Faith. The shield that stops the fire. Now let's talk about something that stops the enemy in his tracks. >> [music] >> Faith. Ephesians 6:16 KJV says, "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." Not some of them. All of them. The enemy does not just attack with obvious evil. >> [music] >> He sends fiery darts, thoughts, fears, doubts, accusations. You're going to fail. This situation will never change. [music] God isn't coming through this time. You're too far gone. Those are fiery darts. And without faith, those darts burn. Hebrews 11:1 >> [music] >> says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for." "The evidence of things not seen." Faith means you trust God when you don't see evidence yet. Faith means you stand when circumstances look opposite of the promise. Faith means you believe God's word more than your emotions. The shield in Roman warfare covered the entire body. >> [music] >> When soldiers locked shields together, they became nearly impenetrable. That's what faith does. >> [music] >> It blocks what the enemy tries to ignite in your mind. When fear says, "You're alone," faith says, "God is with me." When lack says, "You won't make it," faith says, "My God shall supply all your need." Philippians 4:19. When weakness says, "You can't endure," faith says, "The Lord is my strength." Psalm 28:7. Faith is not pretending everything is perfect. Faith is choosing to trust a perfect God in imperfect circumstances. Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by [music] hearing, and hearing by the word of God." You strengthen your shield by feeding on the word. The more truth you hear, the stronger your faith becomes. [music] And listen carefully. Faith is not a feeling. Some days you won't feel strong. [music] Some days you won't feel confident. But faith is a decision before it is an emotion. You choose to believe. And when you raise that shield, the darts lose power. >> [music] >> You are not helpless. You are not exposed. You have a shield.
Lift it. The name of Jesus, authority over darkness. >> [music] >> There is a name that hell cannot ignore. A name that demons recognize. A name that sickness bows to. A name that carries authority in every realm. That name is Jesus. Philippians 2:9-11 KJV says, "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name." That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth. Every knee. Not some, not most, every. That includes fear. That includes addiction. That includes depression. That includes spiritual oppression. There is [music] power in the name of Jesus. Not as a slogan, not as a chant, but as authority. And here's what you must understand, that authority has been delegated to you as a believer. Luke 10:19 says, "Behold, I give unto you power over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you." Jesus did not say, "I might give you power." He said, "I give unto you power." The word power there means authority, legal right. When a police officer raises his hand, traffic stops. Not because of his physical strength, [music] but because of delegated authority. When you speak in the name of Jesus, you are operating under heaven's authority. Acts 3 shows Peter saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And the man rose. The early church did not rely on personality. They relied on the name. Some of you are fighting silently when you should be speaking boldly. When oppression tries to settle in your home, declare the name of Jesus. When fear attacks your mind at night, speak the name of Jesus. When temptation presses hard, say his name with faith. Proverbs 18:10 says, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and is safe." That name is your refuge. But hear this clearly, authority flows from relationship. You cannot live in rebellion and expect to operate in authority. The power in his name flows from surrender to his lordship. So, walk close to him. Stay submitted. Stay obedient. And when darkness rises, don't shrink back. Speak the name.
The Holy Spirit, your divine helper. You are not fighting alone. Let that sink in. You are not abandoned. You are not isolated. >> [music] >> You are not left to figure this life out in your own strength. Jesus said in John 14:16-17 KJV, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever, even the spirit of truth, forever." Not temporarily, not occasionally, forever. >> [music] >> The Holy Spirit is not a distant force. He is your helper, your [music] guide, your comforter, your counselor. Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power, [music] after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." Power. Not human strength, not willpower, divine enablement. >> [music] >> Some of you are trying to overcome sin in your own effort. Some of you are trying to resist temptation by sheer discipline. But Galatians 5:16 says, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the [music] lust of the flesh." Victory comes from walking with him. The Holy Spirit convicts, but conviction is different from condemnation. Condemnation says, "You are worthless." Conviction says, "This is not who you are." Romans 8:16 says, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God." He reminds you of your identity. He warns you before you make destructive choices. He nudges you when you're about to say something you shouldn't. >> [music] >> He strengthens you when you feel weak. Isaiah 40:29 says, "He [music] giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might, he increaseth strength." That strength is supplied through the Spirit. But here's the key, you must be sensitive. [music] The world is loud. Distractions are constant. If you never quiet your heart, you may miss his leading. >> [music] >> Make space for him. Listen when you pray. Obey when he prompts. Yield when he corrects. The Holy Spirit is not just comfort for hard days. He is empowerment for victorious living. You are not alone in this battle. You have the Spirit of the living God dwelling within you. >> [music] >> Walk with him.
Praise and worship, the weapon [music] that confuses the enemy. Now, this one surprises people because it doesn't look like a weapon. Praise. Worship. But let me tell you something, praise is not passive. Praise is powerful. Psalm 22:3 [music] KJV says, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest [music] the praises of Israel." God inhabits praise. That means when you praise, his presence manifests. >> [music] >> And when his presence fills a place, darkness cannot stay. Look at 2 Chronicles 20. Jehoshaphat was surrounded by enemies, outnumbered, overwhelmed. Naturally speaking, defeat was certain. But instead of sending the army first, he sent the worshipers. >> [music] >> And the Bible says, "And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushements against [music] the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, and they were smitten." Caught that? 2 Chronicles 20:22. Did [music] you catch that? When they began to praise, God moved. Acts 16 tells us Paul and Silas were beaten and chained in prison. At midnight, in pain, in darkness, they didn't complain. They worshipped. >> [music] >> And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, and immediately all the doors were opened. Acts 16:25-26. Praise opened prison doors. Some of you are sitting in emotional prisons, mental [music] prisons, situational prisons. And you've been waiting for things to change before [music] you praise. But praise is what causes the shift. Psalm 8:2 says God ordains strength and stills the enemy. Praise silences accusation. [music] It silences despair. It shifts your focus from the problem to the provider. When you praise in pain, you declare God is still good. When you worship in uncertainty, you declare God is still faithful. When you lift your hands in the middle of the storm, you declare God is still in control. That confuses the enemy because the enemy expects you to break under pressure. He doesn't expect you to worship through it. Hebrews 13:15 says, "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually." [music] Sometimes praise is a sacrifice. Sometimes you won't feel like it. But when you choose [music] to worship anyway, chains begin to loosen. Make your home a place of worship. Fill your atmosphere with [music] praise. Let gratitude be louder than your fear. This is not emotional hype. This is spiritual warfare. Open your mouth. Praise him.
Con-conclusion, pick up your weapons. Now, listen to me carefully. You are not helpless. You are not [music] weak. You are not at the mercy of every attack that comes your way. God has armed you. You have the word, the sword that cuts through lies. You have prayer, direct access to [music] heaven's throne. You have faith, a shield that quenches every fiery dart. You have the name of Jesus, authority over darkness. You have the Holy Spirit, divine power within you. You have praise, [music] a weapon that shifts battles in your favor. The enemy is already defeated. Colossians 2:15 KJV says Jesus, "Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." The victory was won at the cross. You are not fighting for victory. You are [music] fighting from victory. Romans 8:37 reminds you, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." More than conquerors. That's who you are. But weapons unused bring no results. So, I'm asking you, which weapon have you neglected? [music] Is your Bible closed? Has your prayer life gone silent? Has fear lowered your shield? Have you stopped speaking his name? [music] Have you ignored the Spirit's prompting? Has praise disappeared from your mouth? It's time to pick them up again. Stand [music] firm. Speak boldly. Pray fervently. Believe deeply. Worship loudly. You were never meant to live defeated. You were built [music] for victory. Now, walk in it.
