definitely over an hour that I was dead. When I looked up, like, and they said, "There is God," it was like this big, swirling, just like enormous ball of energy, and there were rays of energy just coming out and emanating and going everywhere. And I could see that there were souls going up into into it.
In the spirit realm, death isn't thought of in quite the same way as we think of death. Like to us, death is an ending. Death is a complete debriding of everything that was you. And in the spirit world, death is getting rid of that shell. It's completed its purpose.
Going back, two of my sisters have lost children. All of them were there. All of them were there.
>> This is Beyond with Heather Tash, where we examine near-death experiences and life itself, hopefully making this life a little better. Hello, everybody. Welcome. And hello to my guest, Carmel Bell. Hello, Carmel.
Hi, Heather, how are you?
>> I am wonderful, and I'm thrilled to have you today. I'm very fascinated by the whole idea of a medical intuitive, and I know that you are one, and we'll be talking about that. And then, of course, you've had amazing near-death experiences, and I'm excited to talk about as well.
>> Yeah, me too. Thank you.
>> You're welcome. And why don't we just jump right in? Let's start with your first near-death experience, and then we'll just keep going from there.
>> The last one, which was the most extensive one, really, but, you know, I can, I can flip to the first one, which was, you know, very interesting, particularly for children or people who have experienced as a child. I was 4 years of age, and we lived in the country, and it was the middle of, like, it was about July. So, in Australia, that's cold, that's cold time, and in the '60s, 'cause I think that was, that would have been 1965, you know, we didn't have any internal heating apart from an open fire and a small radiator, right?
So, I woke up at about 4:00 in the morning, thought, "Oh, this is odd," but I didn't feel tired, so I got up out of bed and thought, "I'll go clean some stuff." I was obsessed, still am, really, with cleaning. I love everything to be clean. So, I went to my mom's sewing room to help her. And it was cold. So, I turned on this little radiator, which just had like coat hanger wires, a couple covering them. All right. And leaned over this heater, thinking, "This is nice and warm," and started to clean her bench.
What I didn't realize is that my night gown had swung into the heater, and I was so engrossed, I actually didn't realize that it had started smoldering until it sort of went "boof," burst into flames, this nice cotton night gown. And I just ran, which, of course, nowadays we don't teach children to just run, you know. I just ran. And this room was around a corner, like the end of a long hallway and around a corner. And anyway, I got out of the room, around the corner, halfway down the hallway, and by this time the flames were really intense, and I just fell down on the floor and passed out and lay there blazing.
And my father, who was a light sleeper, sort of woke up, he tells me, and he said he saw a light flickering, and he thought, "Oh, we must have forgotten to turn off the hall light. Don't worry about it, you know, I'll deal with it in the morning." And then he went, "Hang on, that light's flickering." And he got up and he ran out of his room, round another corner, down the hallway where he saw me lying ablaze and started to beat the flames out with his hands all over his, you know, my body, and I'm face down.
And while he was doing that, I had a near-death experience, which was actually fortunate because I didn't feel the pain, like I was out of my body. Now, I don't know, I can't prove, or, you know, there's no medical proof to say that I actually died, or that, you know, I just slipped my consciousness out of there, but I had a near-death experience.
And in this experience, I found myself in kind of, well, I found myself in this place that was dark, and it was quite clear, and, you know, but then it started to get lighter, and there were these huge gates in front of me, and they were amazing. like I didn't really know anything about religion or the Bible or anything you can imagine it for. And anyway, these huge gates just seemed to go on and on and on forever. And they were beautiful. They were kind of silver, but like a liquid silver. They were living, and in this silvery stuff, there seemed to be just about every plant, every animal you could imagine. But it was like moving and so forth. And I thought, "Wow," you know, or whatever a four-year-old thinks, probably, "gosh," really, at that stage. And I started to walk towards these gates. I wanted to touch them.
And then I realized that there was a person walking beside me, and I turned around and I said, "Oh, who are you?" And he, he actually said to me, "I am Jesus. I am your father and your father's father and your father's grandfather."
>> I thought, "That's odd." And he asked me to stop, and he knelt down in front of me, and then this other being kind of walked up to join us. But this other being was like massive. You know, the person who said he was Jesus seemed like he was, I don't know, normal kind of height. And I remember him because he had like really bright blue eyes. I was really startled by that, like these bright blue eyes. And he had a beard, like, apart from that, he, he looked, he looked like he was Arabian, and, you know, or swarthy kind of thing, but these bright blue eyes and not, not black hair, but kind of like, you know, dark, dark brown.
And then this other being appeared beside, I don't know if he walked up or where he came from, and he introduced himself to me as Metatron. Now, again, I never heard of this being, and he told me that he was, he was an angel, and that he was the bridge between humans and heaven, like earth and heaven, and, you know, we talked. I don't remember all of the conversation. I never have remembered all of the conversation, but what I do remember were very significant points, and they actually came true because, you know, four years of age, I wasn't really interested in what great things I was going to achieve or whatever, you know. I was more interested in how much trouble this was going to get me into and how much work it was going to be, and, you know, they, they, you know, I remember saying to Jesus, "But who will help me? I don't know what to too." And he said to me, "We will send you someone to help you along your way." I said, "What, what is their name?" And they said to me, "His name is Bernie." And I had never met like somebody called Bernie. And I thought, you know, whatever, Bernie. Fair enough.
And then they told me that it was not my time to die, that I needed to go home, and that I would help, you know, I would help many people, and I would also help animals, 'cause even then I had just a very intense love for animals who, who have always been treated very unkindly on our planet, sadly. And then another being came forward, and at this stage, I remember looking around, and I was in, instead of like seeing the gates, the gates were gone, when they went, I don't know, but I was in like what I would describe, you know, if you've watched those old Hollywood movies and you see, you know, Bud Abbott and Lou Costello when they're captured by the tribes or whatever, and there's an oasis, like, you know, with the pool of water and a palm tree, and, you know, probably historically very inaccurate, but, you know, that's kind of where I was with the, with Jesus and Metatron and this third person in that kind of place. And I remember seeing off in the distance, very far distance, and quite sort of smoky, like a pyramid and a man riding a horse and palm trees.
And anyway, then they introduced me to this man, and they told me that this was Peter, and he said hello and explained to me that he would be my guide. He would help me through my life, like, so as my helpmate or something like that. And then I remember basically crying, just crying. I felt so overwhelmed, and I felt like I, I didn't belong anywhere, you know, it had taken, I guess it had taken, the security, and that is what I was reacting to.
So, you know, people think that a near-death experience is amazing, and it is. There is no denying it is amazing, but it takes away certain things that we are taught to rely on. Like, I remember when I came back, and I was back in my body, and then my father, 'cause in the country there's no ambulances and all that sort of stuff, he had to throw me into his car and drive me to the local hospital, and where they began treating me for, for severe burns. And I, I just remember like my faith had been taken because I didn't have faith. I had knowledge, if that makes sense. Like, you know, when, when you pray, when you pray, like when things go bad and you go, "Dear God, dear Jesus, please help me. Please help me." And there's this 1% maybe of you that says, "I'm doing my best, and, and, and I know that they will hear me, and I know that they will help me, but if they don't, it's okay too," you know. And with me, all that was gone. So, it was like, "God help me." And I know that they can hear. I know that they're real. I know that they're there, you know. And so, as a child, that actually made me suffer with a few anger issues, actually.
But one last, before I left, before I came back into my body, Metatron actually handed me like this ball of energy, and he popped it onto my hand, and he said, "This is my energy, and this is what will help you heal. When you need it, call on it, and it will be there."
I just want to take a quick moment to mention something that is coming up. That would be the IANS conference, the International Association for Near-Death Studies. They hold a conference every year at the end of August. This year, 2026, it's going to be August 27th through the 30th. It'll be just outside of Seattle, Washington. And as always, it is going to be an incredible event. I love going. I love connecting with people. If you're a near-death experiencer, you're going to love it. And if you're not, you're still going to love connecting with all of these people. I'm not an experiencer, and I love making these connections. It's where you find your people.
There are going to be just numerous speakers there for you to listen to. Some of the keynote speakers: Anita Morjani, Betty Edy is going to be one of the keynote speakers, Eban Alexander and Karen Newell. Also, Alex from Next Level Soul. Plus, there's just so many other interesting panels and discussions going on. I'll be on a panel with a bunch of your other favorite near-death experience podcast hosts. So, a bunch of us podcasters all got together. We're on a panel. You can ask us questions. It's just going to be a really fun event.
And, of course, if you see me in the hallway, you can always come up to me as well and say hello. I would love to meet you. I love meeting my audience members. So, check it out: ions.org, ids.org. You can find more information there.
Anyway, I found myself back in my body and back, you know, actually I came to in hospital, and I was bandaged up, and, you know, and that actually was a terrible time being in hospital back then, you know, which I won't go into, but, you know, I survived. But my mother, like, if she's still alive, fortunately she's 90, still alive, if she were here, she would tell you that she felt like she was returned a completely different child. That I was not, I wasn't her daughter any longer. That I'd gone from this four-year-old who loved to play and loved, you know, dolls and dressing up and, you know, wearing pink and all this kind of stuff. I returned as a child that was deeply concerned and afraid, and the only color I wanted to wear was black. And, of course, finding black clothing for a young child back then was non-impossible. But the advantage of that is it made me learn to sew and knit because I had to make my own clothing. So, you know, it had its advantages. So, you know, although it was a wonderful experience, it's also an experience that you need to, to attach yourself to with caution.
>> It's mixed with trauma because while you had this amazing experience, you also had this very traumatic experience, and one you had to recover from.
>> Yeah. Well, we didn't know about like psychology or, you know, there, like, there really wasn't any therapy for children who'd been going through that. And I came back quite different, like, quite different. All of a sudden, I could see things that I hadn't been able to see before, and I could feel things, and I, I would, you know, I could, I didn't have any discernment or tact, you know, for whatever. Like, for instance, my godparents were Eleanor and Jerry Warming were their names. And Jerry was a doctor. And Jerry absolutely loved me. Like, loved me. And when he heard that I'd been in this fire, he and his wife decided to come down to Euroa to visit me as they used to do. Like, he used to come down every couple of months. He was quite a devoted godfather. And he walked in. This, this a couple of months later, I guess. He walked in, and he picked me up and held me to him. And I remember leaning back and putting my hand over his heart and saying, "Uncle Jerry, what's wrong here?" And no idea of anatomy or anything. And he said, "Oh, nothing, darling. Don't worry about it." And then he popped me down. He gave me the tadpoles he'd bought for me, and, of course, I went outside and played with tadpoles in a little mud pond I made. Poor creatures, and had a lovely time.
Well, two weeks later, Jerry had a sudden cardiac arrest and died. And from that point on, I was persona non grata to my godmother and her family, and, you know, as they, and in fact, to a lot of people. There was a particular aunt in my father's family who, you know, was kind of in the friendship group too, and she decided that I was obviously like mentally unwell or cursed or whatever, you know, and so that...
>> ...because you had predicted his problems.
>> And that's...
>> Yeah.
>> ...it's tragic.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. So, I was, I was very much isolated and excluded from that point on, even within my own family. And I remember my parents, like, this is the result of this near-death experience, which, amazing, yes, traumatic, definitely, and, oh, I tell you, my parents were so, I mean, they've been, they, we're, we are very good friends, like, apologies were made, apologies were accepted, and all that sort of stuff. So, there's no blame laying, but I left home at 15 as a result of all this coming from this four-year-old thing.
Left home and school because it was, I just turned 15. It was Christmas morning. Family gathered around the Christmas tree to have presents handed out and all this sort of stuff. One of six. And when the under the tree was empty, all my siblings had presents, and there was nothing in front of me. My parents had forgotten an entire child. Me.
And, oh, so I didn't say anything. I was kind of like used to that, I guess. And I got up and I walked out of the lounge room into my bedroom and started packing a bag. And I thought, you know, I'm thinking to myself, "There's obviously no room for me here. I need to find where I do belong." And then my parents came like running out, and, and Dad said, "Oh, Carl, your mother's just, we've, you know, realized." And Mom said, "I'm so sorry, Caramel. You know, I'm so sorry. That just wasn't intentional. I just completely forgot." And Dad opened his wallet and pulled out $20 and gave it to me and said, "Here, here's some money, and when the shop's open, your mother will take you shopping, and you can get whatever you want." And I said, "Oh, thanks, Dad." Put the money into my jean pocket, went back into my bedroom, finished packing my bag, walked out the door, and I did not see my family again for nearly three years. So,
>> Wow.
>> Yeah.
>> Tough childhood. Yeah.
Left school, left home, and fortunately, I didn't end up on the street, you know. I actually went to, I was going out with a young man at that stage named Deian, who is still a very good friend, very good friend. And I went to his house and I told him what happened, and he went and asked his parents if I could live there with them, and they said, "Of course," you know. So, I got myself a job, lived with them, started paying rent, you know, to them, and that was it.
Well, let's fast forward and go to your next near-death experience. I loved motorbikes, and so did my boyfriend. And so one day I said to him, "Why don't we start a motorcycle club of our own, 'cause like all of our friends ride?" So we did, and, you know, we had this little gang of, of learners, and, you know, so like we were between 16 and 18, kind of thing. Very young. It wasn't like we weren't big, bad bikies. We were just young kids mucking around.
And anyway, one night we were at our local fish and chippery having fish and chips, and this guy on a motorbike rolled up, and he was sort of like, you know, grubby. He was like way worse than us and looked way older than us. And apparently a couple of the guys had met him a few times around the town. And he asked if he could join our gang, and his name was Zeb. But about three months into it, I actually found out that his name was Bernie, right? I thought, "Okay," remembering from when I was four, this, you know, "Bernie, interesting."
Long story short, we did actually end up together due to, you know, a few little, little minor disasters, 'cause he and I did actually end up together, and we ended up married. And on my wedding night, I had a dream, and Peter came to me, and he said, "Caramel, you have married the wrong Bernie." I remember being completely distraught and sort of bargaining with him, saying, "Well, can I, can I please just stay? I want to stay." So I did. We, we stayed married, and, and my eldest son was born out of that. So, I've got a 46-year-old son whose name is Harley, who does not ride motorbikes at all, and who is, in fact, an aerospace engineer. Yeah, that was my, that was my first Bernie.
Before Harley was born, I had my second near-death experience, and I had actually fallen pregnant and then miscarried the baby, and I found a, you know, an OBGYN, and went and saw him, and he said, "Everything looks fine, but we better do, you know, like the dilation and curette just to make sure that everything is okay." So, he popped me into a hospital. I had the operation, and during the operation, my heart apparently stopped. Now, I don't remember actually dying because, and I was under anesthetic. I do, I knew that something had happened because I had this NDE experience where I was once again in the same place that I'd been in my first one, and Jesus and Metatron and Peter were all there, and basically again, they, they said to me, like, all three of them then said, "You have married the wrong Bernie," and, you know, again I said, "I, I want to stay in this marriage," and, you know, "it's my choice," kind of thing, and, so I did. I stayed in this marriage and got pregnant after that, and thus said Harley was born.
And but when Harley was about, I think, 18 months old, he was about 18 months old. One of my sisters had been staying with us for a couple of weeks. We were living the country. She was staying with us for a couple of weeks, and she told me that my husband, Bernie, had had made a pass at her, and I chose to believe her. I didn't think to myself, "Oh, you know, whatever. This is, this is a troubled young girl," which she was. She's an amazing human now, I will say. But she was very troubled back then. So, instead, I said to Bernie, "Um, I'm out of here." I packed my bags. I put our son into my car, and I drove away, and left, left my marriage, and, you know, well, you know, it, it was not meant to last, and I guess things had to happen to make me leave, or I would have stayed. I would have stayed. He and I are actually very good friends. I said, you know, we share a, we share a son. He has other children. I have other children, and, you know, they all get along and that, you know, that kind of thing. And, gosh, Heather, that was so hard. That was so hard to walk away from him. Absolutely broke me, you know, and then only to find out years later that it wasn't true.
>> Yeah. I'm so sorry.
>> Yeah. Thank you. Thank you.
So, then you had a third near-death experience, correct? Somewhere along the line.
>> Third near-death experience. Yeah. So, you know, I was going out with this man, and he was a parachutist, and we actually got engaged, and then, despite all best intent, I actually discovered that I was pregnant, and completely unintentional. And this guy just flipped. We'd been together for three years. We were about, I don't know, a couple of months away from marrying, and he just flipped and picked me up around the throat, slammed me up against a wall, and punched holes in the wall next to my head, saying, "Have an abortion, or I will kill you."
And so I fled. I packed up my belongings. I took my son, Harley, and I fled, and found myself somewhere else to live, and had my second son on my own. But, and thank God I did. He is an incredible young man, and, well, he's not young anymore.
But in between that, one day, 'cause, you know, I'm trying to work out what I'm going to do with my life. I was actually a fashion designer and dressmaker, and so I was running this, this business, and, you know, my, my medical intuitive skills would pop out every now and then. A client would come in, and I'd say, you know, like one woman came in, whose baby actually, there was a tumor growing in her uterus, 'cause there's a certain kind of tumor that only grows in pregnant women inside the uterus, and what it basically does is it eats the infant. So, it is, you know, just it consumes the baby, and anyway, I saw that happening, and she didn't know that I had this gift, and so I had to say to her, like, very, you know, apprehensively, "Patty, I've got to tell you this: you need to go see your obstetrician, you need to have an ultrasound. There's something wrong." So, she did. I scared her enough that she did, and she managed to get in, like, she was so panicked, she got in to see this guy on the same day, and whatever, and they discovered this tumor, and they popped her in hospital, and when they could, 'cause the baby was, you know, fairly advanced, what they did was they performed a cesarean, removed the tumor, kept her in hospital, put the baby back in, let it grow big enough till it was quite viable, removed, you know, by cesarean, the baby again, and, and they lived.
And but that kind of outed me doing that, like this, so, you know, this woman, you know, and I thought, "I need to find something else to do that I can, I, I'm not like known for the medical intuition," and I'm flicking through the local paper, and all of a sudden this ad popped up, like, sort of, you know, to me it said, "Learn clinical massage." So, I booked in. I went to this course. It was in the evening, and it was a year-long course. And I'm sitting up the front of the room waiting for the lecture to start. You know, introduction to clinical massage, all this sort of stuff.
And all of a sudden, Peter says, as loud as you could hope for, says, "Um, turn around. He's here." And I went, "What?" So, I did. I turned around, and there's this man walking into the room, and in the midst of a crowd of people, and he's like laughing and talking and whatever. And then all of a sudden he stopped, and he looked at me, and he had the brightest blue eyes, like Jesus, that I had ever seen. And Peter said, "That's him." And I went, "Okay." Anyway, for whatever reason, he saw me, and he went, "That's her." 'Cause he actually is quite connected, too. He went, "That's her." And so he came up quite deliberately, and he sat next to me, and he said, "Hello, my name's Bernie."
>> Wow.
I went, "Hi, Bernie. I'm Caramel." And then he actually said to me, "I've been waiting for you."
>> Wow, that's an incredible story.
>> Yeah, it is. It is.
Um, not as simple as that, though, 'cause he'd actually married 6 months before, and I was about to get married anyway. So, we finished the course, and, you know, we stayed really good friends. There was nothing between us but friendship, that's, that is it. And I finished the course, and that's when I discovered that I was pregnant with my second son, and I had to leave. And so I disappeared from where Bernie knew that I was.
And, unbeknownst to me, his life had gone on, and he ended up leaving his wife. Completely nothing to do with me. And he tried to find me at my old house, found that somebody else was living there, that I was gone. He thought, "I don't know how I'm going to find her." And then he remembered, 'cause he'd come to my engagement party to my, my fiance then. So, he racked his brain and said, you know, and then he remembered that my parents' name was such and such, and that my mother had been a psychologist. And, you know, anyway, so he went through the phone book, found what seemed like the right address, rang up, and got my father on the phone, and he said, "Oh, hi, my name's Bernie. I'm a friend of Caramel's. Does she live there?" And Dad said, "Oh, yes, she does, but she's out." And so Bernie gave him his phone number and, and name, and I was actually offered doing a course with a very good clairvoyant. I was learning how to channel with this really good clairvoyant.
And I came home, and I walked in, and Dad said, "Oh, somebody rang up for you while you were out." And I said, "Oh, really?" And he goes, "Oh, he said his name was Bernie." And I just about fell off my feet. I said, "What? Where? Where's his number? Where's his number?" And Dad pretended he couldn't find it, which infuriated me. And, you know, then he eventually gave it to me, and I rang, I rang up Bernie, and, and we just sat there and talked for ages, and then I invited him over for dinner, like, during the week. And I remember when he came for dinner, he walked up to the front door of this house, and, mind you, this was on a big property in a beautiful old colonial house. It was stunning, like a great, you know, scenario, atmosphere, whatever. And I opened the wire door, and he stepped in, hugged me, and we have been together ever since.
>> Wonderful. I love that.
>> And, and then somewhere in here, you die again.
>> Yes, I did. There. That's, I died again when I had James. When I actually gave birth to James, he was born dead, and they couldn't stop bleed the bleeding on me. I bled out, and so they had to, like, they rushed me to surgery. They, you know, resuscitated James. They told me that he had cerebral palsy, and I thought, "That's not going to be his future." You know, "I refuse to let that be." And so, you know, so that, you know, that was quite traumatic.
And but I had, when I died quite briefly during that one, again, I'm in the same place, and they told me, you know, Peter actually told me that I could choose to stay on the path that I was on, which was the dressmaking and massage, and I would have a normal life, that it would be difficult, but I would make it, it would be normal, or I could go back onto the medical intuition path, which I didn't know that it was called that then. It was actually just my blessed path is what they've actually just called it for me now, onto the blessed path, and my life would be extraordinary.
So, you know, that is what I chose, and Bernie was just very naturally clairvoyant. So, you know, he was completely supportive of that, like, "You don't need to do this, and you don't need to do that. You can focus on this, and I will look after you while you focus on that," and, and build it up. So, he was able to support myself and my two children before him quite well while I focused on quite literally learning medical intuition.
Before we get to your fourth near-death experience, which I know is an incredible one, I'm curious, when you mentioned Peter, is Peter a spirit guide, or is Peter the Peter of the Bible?
>> No, he's a, he's a spirit guide. He's a spirit guide.
>> Okay.
>> You know, that's the first time I've actually been asked that. I have never asked him that. Is he Peter from the, I have never asked him that. I have just accepted, like, he, he's told me that his name is Peter, and that we have been together before in real life, and that he chose to work with me.
It's also fascinating. So, I want to hear more because I know you have another incredible experience.
>> ...when you died, and this time you were dead for probably an hour or more.
>> Oh, it's hour, hour or more is 47 minutes under CPR. So, getting, you know, chest compressions, adrenaline shots, shocks, whatever. It was 47 minutes of that. So, if you, you know, if you look at my hospital records, 'cause like all of these things are in hospital records, by the way. If you look at my hospital records, it actually says 47 minutes of CPR, but I was blue and cold when Bernie found me. And he began CPR. And then it took, like, I don't know, five, who knows how long for the, for it was actually the fire brigade. The ambulance was busy. So, they sent firemen, you know, to get loaded into their truck, drive to my house, get the stretcher out, trolley it down the hall, break my bed so they could move it, you know, and, you know, so 47 minutes plus all the shenanigans going on, it would be definitely over an hour that I was dead. Yeah.
>> So, what happened when you were dead?
>> Went to sleep, and the next thing I knew, I'm standing beside my bed. And I remember, like, standing beside the bed, and I'm just like swaying like this, and I, and I kind of went, "What am I doing?" And I opened my eyes, and the room was dark, and I looked down the bed, and I could see Bernie asleep on the bed, and I could see me asleep on the bed, and I thought, and then I went, "What? I'm asleep on the bed here. I am, like, this is me." So, I tried to get back into my body, you know. I literally sat on myself and laid down, and next thing I knew, I'm there. Boom. Standing beside myself again, going, "Tried one more time." Same thing happened. I thought, "I am dead. I cannot," and, and my body just looked like cold and uninviting, and, you know, and I thought, "No, not, not interested, really, but I need to get back into that, 'cause I'm dead."
So, I started to try and wake Bernie up. He was actually an ambulance paramedic at that stage, and handy. So, I'm calling out to him, "Bernie, wake up. I'm dead. Can't you see? I'm dead." He didn't even stir. So, I tried shaking him, and I couldn't, like, it just nothing happened. And I'm going, "How am I going to do this? I don't want to be dead. And where's the light? Why aren't I in heaven already? I, you know, like, keep away from me. Keep away from me. I don't want to be dead. You know, I've got children to raise." All this sort of stuff. And that went on for, I don't really know how long that went on for, but eventually Bernie woke up, and I thought, "Oh, thank God." And he got out of bed, and he went to the toilet, and I went, "Oh, great." I was so disheartened.
And then this kind of light, sparkly thing appeared, and I knew that if I wanted to, I could step into that, and I would be gone. And I'm sort of going, "No, I don't, I don't want to. I'm, I've got young kids." Like, my kids were, you know, the youngest two were eight and 10, you know, so not very old. I mean, Carly was, I don't know, whatever. I mean, they were, they were young, still needing a mom. And then Bernie came back to bed, and he hopped into bed, and I thought, "Well, you know, that's it. I'm done." But instead of lying down, he leaned over and he gave me a kiss. And then he sat back in shock, literally, and turned the light on because when he kissed me, I was cold. Like, really cold. And I remember him saying to me, "Oh, Carl, what have you done?"
And so he began CPR, like, rolled me over. I was already on my back, I think. Began CPR on me. And then after a few minutes, realized that it was pretty useless, 'cause it was on a, you know, mattress, and, you know, so he got up and he ran to James's room. That's our second son. And he woke James up, and he said, "Call the ambulance. Your mother's dead." So, while James was doing that, he went back and continued with CPR.
And however long later, the fire truck actually rolled up, and they pushed my bed out of the way, got me onto the floor, took all the measurements, put, you know, whatever on me, and they began CPR and giving me oxygen. And so it was something like 40, it was 47 minutes under their care of CPR, and I think it was something like three adrenaline shots, and it's either six or 12, I can't remember, shocks, and they went on that long simply because Bernie was a, a, you know, work colleague, and then the actual, the ambulance paramedics arrived when they got time. Then the mic paramedics arrived, and so it was a really crowded room, all working on me.
And then I, you know, in the meantime, like, I'm in heaven, and I would be also, you know, aware of what's going on down in my room. So, I had these two mind streams going, talking up there, keeping an eye on things down here. And I remember hearing one of the, the paramedics saying, you know, "That's it. It's not happening. We've got this last load of adrenaline. I'll run that through, and then we'll call it." And I thought, "Okay." And then I'm up in heaven, and Jesus actually said to me, "If you're going to go back, this is your last chance. You need to go now." So, as he said, "We'll call it," I came back, slipped into my body, and this time it was like it just sucked me in. Just held me. And I remember one of the guys yelling out, "We've got a pulse." Oh, and some heel says, "She's breathing." Like, they were all shocked. Like, they were just like, "This never happens." And I was back. I was alive.
And so they, they loaded me up, took me to actually Boxill Hospital where they popped me into a coma and then froze my body to reduce brain damage, and left me there to heal. So, you know, while I was in heaven and all this was going on, I was speaking to, you know, Jesus and Metatron and Peter and my healing guide whose name is Hyum as well was there, 'cause as you develop in clairvoyancy, you get like different level guides, different grades or different specialties, that kind of thing. And a lot of the conversation that I had with them was to do with me. I remember crying a lot. And now, now I think to myself, "Why do you waste your time being upset," but I really wanted answers. I really wanted to know why. If my life had been giving to everyone, why it had been so difficult, like, why, why make it, why make it difficult?
Like, things that I haven't covered is just things like, you know, one of my brothers telling me that I can't let anybody know that we're related because that would make them think that possibly he's mental as well, and I was raped at gunpoint, and I think, "Why does, why," you know, and then crashing the plane and just all the things, and, you know, then I developed a terminal disease, and so there I am in heaven, same place, and I'm saying to these eyes, "Why? Why? Why?" And the answer was that to relate to people who have had terrible things happen in their life, you, you need to understand what that really feels like. You know, like if you go to a psychologist and they are a rape crisis counselor, and, you know, maybe a man who's like never been sexually assaulted. Men get raped too, who's never been sexually assaulted and is like, say, 28, 30 years of age, so minimal life experience. How much help is he going to be to you? Because he doesn't really know what it's like. I mean, they don't have to dwell in it. They don't have to deep dive in it, but they know, you know, and you can feel that. And basically, that's where they, you know, they decided I needed to be, I needed to know what it was like to be given a terrible diagnosis. And where did I find the strength from to say, "I'm not accepting that diagnosis. I don't care what you say. I will beat this. I will live," right? And that is what I have managed to do for thousands and thousands and thousands of people, you know, and they, they come along and they say to me, "Oh, I've been given, you know, like my doctor says, I've got maybe two months left to live." And I say, "Well, let's see what we can turn that into, you know, let's, let's make that two months, maybe two years."
>> So, what other things did you learn and hear when you were in heaven?
>> Well, you know, I learned some, one thinks to yourself, maybe, you know, you don't want to offend anybody. I basically learned that homosexuality, for instance, that is perfectly fine. Love is love is love. You know, when, when a relationship and intimacy goes into hurting another being, be it whatever, whatever being, man, woman, child, animal, even tree, I imagine, that's where it becomes wrong, you know, when any kind of force, be it mental, be it physical, goes into a relationship that is against the universe, that is against God. And, you know, that was really good for me to, you know, I was very happy to have that confirmed.
I also learned that animals are equal to us. That animals, like a lot of people say, "Oh, animals are stupid. Animals don't have souls." Whatever. Well, I'm here to tell you guys, animals have souls. They have souls. And they are some of the best guides you will ever find. Like, if you have an animal that has chosen you, that's because you needed that animal and their wisdom. You know, that's what you need.
And I also learned that some people are put here, are destined to die. That, you know, like they're put here to die in a melodramatic way. Like, we think that peace, love, and moonbeams should rule the day. Like, if there was really a God, then we'd all been millionaires, and nobody'd be chasing money, and everybody would have food and all this sort of stuff. Well, that's sadly not true because this is a learning planet. And if you want to build strength, you need something to push against, right? And if there's no adversity, you have nothing to push against. If there's nothing to challenge you, how do you ever grow? You sit there and you become a passive being till you actually pacify yourself to death, if that makes sense. You know, like if there's no reason to get up and go foraging for food, you're just going there. So, where's the growth? Right? So, when people say, you know, it's terrible that we have wolves, because you imagine like every one of us, we're flocks. Like, we're part of a flock, and there are wolves that live amongst us, but those wolves actually keep us safe. And then there are some people who need the lesson of being murdered or whatever, and not that these are things I would do, and I don't appreciate it, and I get just as angry and just as grief-struck as everybody else, as you would expect, you know, gets. But there's another part of me that understands that these things had to have happened.
>> So, you learned there's purpose.
>> Yes.
...the struggles that we face.
>> Were there other things as well that you learned?
>> Oh, look. So, it's hard to, in many ways, to encapsulate it, but I, you know, because there are so many things that, learned or implied or person or race specific, but, you know, like I said, every tragedy has a purpose, but so does every good thing have a purpose, and but sometimes you say that, and it feels like you're saying, "So, don't rail against anything because it has a purpose and it's going along according to plan." But the thing is, is sometimes these things happen so that you can rail against them so that things can be changed, 'cause this is a learning planet, you know, and we are a mixture of advanced souls to young, kitty souls, you know, who are, who are just learning to do things. And part of the learning is, I guess, in the spirit realm, death isn't thought of in quite the same way as we think of death. Like to us, death is an ending. Death is a complete debriding of everything that was you. And in the spirit world, death is getting rid of that shell. It's completed its purpose, going back to get a new shell so that you can, you know, come back here and do something more.
You also had a really cool experience where you saw God.
>> Yes.
>> Can you share more about that?
>> Yeah, I can. I remember in particular, you know, my fourth experience saying to them, like, "Where is God?" I was hoping I would meet God. I mean, everybody presents God as this, I don't know, almost like Santa Claus, you know, kind of thing, wrong beard, whatever. I thought, "Where's God?" And I was told that I could get close to God, but I could not touch God. And I could look at him, but I could not be, you know, like see this God force up close because to do so would be to be reabsorbed into the, the God energy. So, God isn't, God isn't a single figure. God isn't a person. This is why we have the angels and we have the messiahs, you know, we, we've got Allah and, and Jesus and Buddha and whatever because they are the, the part of the God energy that we can actually commune with, we can touch, we can talk to.
When I looked up, it was like, and they said, "There is God." It was like this big, swirling, just like enormous ball of energy that if it had been here in this plane, you wouldn't be able to look at it, it'd be like a, a huge solar flare, you know, whatever. But in heaven, you could actually see it. And there were rays of energy just coming out and emanating and going everywhere. And I could see that there were souls going up into into it. And when I asked about that, like, "What's happening there?" Um, I can't remember my actual words. It was probably, you know, a lot more eloquent than that, I hope. And these are souls that had been burdened too much and were being recycled, going up to be rinsed and recycled because, you know, we think, we think that fulfilling our soul purpose should be easy, but I can tell you that it's hard. It's damn hard. Like, if you are having an easy life, that's one sure-fire way of knowing you're not really fulfilling your soul purpose. You know, nothing comes from ease, does it?
>> In the challenge is we find growth.
>> We do. We do.
>> Your nephews that your sister lost, you did see them in heaven, didn't you?
>> Yes, I did. And they were grown up, and I was, well, actually, two of my sisters have lost children. All of them were there. All of them were there, and I was able to pass personal messages on to their mothers for them that would allow, you know, allowed their, their mothers to have peace.
It's been so interesting talking to you and hearing your incredible story, Carmel. I've, I've enjoyed this so much.
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you. If somebody wants to connect with you, what would be the best way for them to do that?
Oh, probably the easiest way would be via the email that I shared with you and or through Facebook, Carmel Bell Medical Intuitive.
>> Okay, I will share that in the description.
>> Thank you.
>> Before we leave, if there's one thing that you hope that people take away from our conversation, what would that be?
Every time you seek to hurt another, you only hurt yourself. And that is true in the physical world, not just the spiritual world, but in the physical world. So, be kind, and good luck because it's an adventure.
>> It is an adventure.
>> Thank you. Thank you, Carl.
>> Thank you. Thank you. Really have enjoyed this.
>> Me too. It's been really lovely chatting to you, actually talking to you. You asked great questions. I'm really proud of you.
>> Thank you.
And we connected, which is great because you're in Australia, and I'm here in America, and we've got a huge time difference, and I'm ready to go, and you're ready to start your day. So...
>> I am.
>> Thanks.
I have been fascinated by medical intuitives. It's such an incredible gift. So, it really was nice to be able to talk to Carmel and hear more about what she does. And then, of course, her incredible near-death experiences and just the amazing things that she saw, that she experienced. I loved hearing about God, her source, and the souls that were coming and going. And then, Metatron, some being that I had not heard of before.
So, I would love to know what stood out to you in all the things that we talked about. I would love to know your thoughts. Please jot those in the comments.
