The blood of Jesus did three things that hell still trembles to remember. It cleansed you completely. It gave you unrestricted access to the throne of the living God. And it secured your authority over every force of darkness that ever opposed your name.
Most Christians know about the cleansing. But they still live like they are dirty. They have been given access. But they pray from a distance like strangers at the gate. They have been given authority. But they walk through life defeated by shadows that have no legal right to touch them.
This is the great tragedy of the modern church. Not unbelief in God. But unbelief in what the blood already did. You were not redeemed to negotiate with the enemy. You were redeemed to enforce a verdict. And until you understand the three legal rights the blood purchased for you, you will keep praying like a beggar in a courtroom where you are already the heir.
The Apostle John, writing under the unction of the Holy Spirit, declared in 1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another. And the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin." All sin. Not some. Not the small ones. All. That word should have ended the religious slavery of every believer who ever read it. And yet here we are, generations later, still apologizing for sins that were paid for before we were born.
Before we go any deeper, I want you to pause for just a moment. If you have ever felt like your prayers hit the ceiling, if you have ever felt like God was holding something back from you because of your past, type the word free in the comments. Not because it changes anything in heaven, but because it marks something in you. It is a confession. And confession is where faith becomes visible. Then stay with me. Because what I am about to show you from the word of God will not just inform you, it will reposition you.
Let us open the scriptures together and look at the legal foundation of everything we are going to say. Hebrews 10:19 says, "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus." Pause on that word boldness. In the original Greek, the word is parresia. It does not mean a polite confidence. It does not mean a sheepish religious hope. Parresia was a political term in the Greek world. It described the right of a free citizen to speak openly in the public assembly without fear of punishment. It was the legal liberty of one who belonged. The slave could not speak with parresia. The foreigner could not speak with parresia. Only the citizen. Only the one with rights could stand and speak with that kind of fearless freedom.
And the Holy Spirit, through the writer of Hebrews, chose that exact word to describe how you, a blood-bought believer, are now to approach the throne of Almighty God. Not as a beggar slipping in through a side door, not as a sinner hoping nobody notices, as a citizen of heaven with the legal right to speak. Modern translations have softened this word into something polite and devotional. But the original Greek carries the weight of a courtroom and a constitution. You have the right to be heard. You have the right to stand. You have the right to speak. And that right was not earned by your performance. It was purchased by his blood.
The veil that once separated the holy of holies from the common worshiper was torn from top to bottom the moment Jesus cried, "It is finished." That tearing was not symbolic. It was legal. It was the public cosmic announcement that the barrier between God and humanity had been removed by a payment so complete that no further sacrifice would ever be required.
E. W. Kenyon put it this way. He wrote that redemption is not a hope we are reaching for. It is a fact we are standing on. The blood did not begin a process. The blood completed a transaction. And the believer who does not understand the legal nature of the new covenant will spend his whole life trying to qualify for something that has already been deeded to him. Read that again until it lands in your spirit. The blood did not start a process. The blood completed a transaction. Everything else is simply you learning to walk in what is already yours.
Now let us go to the second pillar. Colossians 1:13 and 14 says, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son, in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins." Notice the tense. The Holy Spirit did not say, "God will deliver us." He did not say, "God is in the process of delivering us." He said, "God hath delivered us." Past tense. Finished. Settled. The transaction is complete in the courts of heaven. And the only thing left is for you to walk in the reality of what has already been declared.
The Greek word translated power in that verse is exousia. Exousia does not mean raw force. Raw force is dunamis, the explosive ability. Exousia means delegated authority, the legal right to act. When Paul says you have been delivered from the exousia of darkness, he is saying something far stronger than most pulpits have ever preached. He is saying that the legal jurisdiction, the kingdom of darkness once held over your life, has been revoked, canceled, stripped. The devil no longer has a courtroom standing in your case. He no longer has a legal claim on your body, your mind, your finance, your family, or your future. The blood did not just forgive you. The blood broke a jurisdiction.
And this is where the tragedy begins for most believers. They have been delivered from the authority of darkness, but they still respond to the enemy as if he were their landlord. They still pay rent in fear. They still tremble at his threats. They still beg God to do what God has already done. The blood has spoken. The verdict is recorded. The case is closed. He did not say he was thinking about delivering you. He said, "You have been delivered." The tragedy is that the church has been weeping over a debt that the blood already paid in full.
He did not say you would one day have access. He said you have boldness to enter now, not in glory, not in eternity, now, today, this moment. Notice the word is not someday, but now. The blood is not waiting for you to be holy enough. The blood made you holy enough. The blood is not measuring your worthiness. The blood is your worthiness. And until you grasp this, you will keep approaching God like a stranger at his own house, ringing the doorbell of a father who already gave you the key.
Hebrews 9:1-4 makes this even sharper. It says, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" Purge your conscience. The Greek word there is katharizo, the same root from which we get our medical term catharsis. It means a complete cleansing, a violent purging, a total removal. The blood was not designed merely to cleanse your record. It was designed to cleanse your conscience. Because a believer with a clean record, but a guilty conscience, will still pray like a sinner. A believer with a guilty conscience will still flinch when God moves toward him. A believer with a guilty conscience will read these very verses and still feel unworthy to claim them. The blood does its deepest work not in heaven, but in your own inner man, where the accuser has built strongholds of shame that contradict the verdict of the court. And the Holy Spirit, through the writer of Hebrews, says the blood is strong enough to purge that, too.
Now, let me ask you to picture something. Imagine a courtroom. The judge sits on the bench. The accuser, the prosecuting attorney, has a thick file of evidence against the defendant. Every page is true. Every charge is accurate. The defendant has no defense. He cannot argue the facts, because the facts condemn him. The accuser rises and begins to read the charges, one by one. And the courtroom grows heavier with each accusation. Then a man steps forward. Not the defendant. Not the accuser. But a substitute. He approaches the bench and lays down a payment so complete, so vast, so eternal, that the judge stops the proceedings, slams the gavel, and declares the case dismissed with prejudice. Dismissed with prejudice means the case can never be reopened. It cannot be retried. It cannot be appealed. The matter is forever closed. That is what the blood of Jesus did in the courts of heaven. The lamb stepped forward, laid down his life, and the gavel fell.
Now, picture the accuser, still walking around your neighborhood with the same old file in his hand, knocking on your door, reading the same charges. The case is closed. The verdict is rendered. The judge has spoken. But if you do not know what happened in the courtroom, you will keep answering the door when the accuser knocks. You will keep reading his file as if it were still admissible. You will keep apologizing for charges that have already been dismissed.
Picture another scene. A king's palace. You were born in poverty, raised in slavery, accustomed to begging at the gate. One day, a messenger arrives with a sealed scroll. The scroll says, "You have been adopted." Not as a servant, not as a guest, as a son. And the king has given you a signet ring, a robe, and a key to every chamber in the palace, the treasury, the throne room, the king's private study. All open to you. But the only way you experience that inheritance is if you walk in. If you stand outside the gate, ashamed, holding your beggar's cup, the inheritance is still legally yours, but functionally absent. This is why so many believers live spiritually impoverished while sitting on a heavenly fortune. The blood did not just pardon you. The blood enthroned you.
E. W. Kenyon wrote that the believer who does not know his legal rights in the blood will live as a spiritual orphan in the very household of God. Read that slowly. A spiritual orphan in the very household of God. That is the condition of most of the modern church. Adopted, but acting abandoned. Heir, but living like a hired hand. Seated in heavenly places, but praying from the floor.
You may be asking, "But why do I still feel unworthy when I read all this? Why does my heart still flinch when I try to approach God? Why do I still feel like the devil has a hold on me even after I have confessed Christ?" The answer is not that the blood is weak. The answer is that your understanding of the blood is still small. Faith does not grow by trying harder. Faith grows by hearing the word of God on a single truth until that truth becomes more real to you than your feelings. Romans 10:17 says, "Faith cometh by hearing. And hearing by the word of God," not by hearing once. By hearing. The Greek tense is continuous. Hearing and hearing and hearing again until the inner man is renovated by the truth.
So, I want you to begin to speak not to perform, not to impress, to rebuild your inner reality on the foundation of the blood. Say it out loud right now wherever you are. The blood of Jesus has cleansed me from all sin. The blood of Jesus has given me access to the Father. The blood of Jesus has stripped the devil of his legal claim on my life. Say it again. Say it tomorrow morning before your feet touch the floor. Say it when the accuser knocks. Say it when the symptoms argue back. Say it when the bills pile up and the diagnosis hangs in the air. Because what you confess consistently you eventually possess experientially. The blood has spoken in heaven. Your confession brings that speaking down into the earth realm where you live.
Now, understand something. The devil does not fear your church attendance. He does not tremble at your religious activity. What terrifies him is a believer who has discovered the legal weight of the blood. Because the moment you speak from that revelation, every accusation he files against you is thrown out of court. Revelation 12:11 says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony." Notice the two ingredients, the blood and the word. The blood is the legal payment. The word is your confession. Heaven does not move on the blood alone. Heaven moves when the redeemed open their mouth and agree with what the blood already said.
The devil will try to make you feel that the blood is theoretical, doctrinal, distant. He will whisper that the verdict was for the saints of old, not for someone with your past, your weakness, your failures. He will parade your circumstances in front of you like exhibits in a trial that was already dismissed. Do not entertain him. Colossians 2:15 says of Christ that having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. He triumphed, past tense. The triumph was not pending. It was finished at the cross. The principalities were not merely defeated, they were stripped, publicly humiliated, paraded as conquered powers in the heavenly realm. And you, the blood-bought believer, are not waiting for a future victory. You are enforcing a past one.
The believer who understands this stops begging God to do what God has already done. He stops asking the Father to forgive what the blood has already washed. He stops asking for access to a throne where his name is already engraved. He stops asking for authority that has already been deeded to him. He begins to stand. He begins to speak. He begins to enforce. And the kingdom of darkness which has no legal standing in his life begins to flee.
There is a moment in every believer's walk where the revelation of the blood ceases to be information and becomes inheritance. That moment is not emotional. It is legal. It is the moment you stop asking God to act and start agreeing with what he has already declared. E. W. Kenyon said it this way. He said that the man who knows what he is in Christ by virtue of the blood ceases to plead and begins to take possession. Ceases to plead and begins to take possession. That single sentence if you let it sink in will redefine your prayer life from this day forward. You are not climbing a mountain to get to God. You are descending from a throne to enforce his decree on the earth. The blood has spoken. You are clean. The blood has spoken. The veil is torn. The blood has spoken. The devil's jurisdiction is broken. The only question that remains is whether you will live inside that verdict or outside of it.
And yet this is only the beginning of what the blood has done. There is a deeper truth hidden in the covenant pattern from Genesis to Revelation that most pulpits have never opened to the people of God. Because the blood did not only cleanse you, give you access, and break the devil's claim. The blood also placed something inside you. Something the enemy fears more than any external authority. Something that explains why even the angels lean forward when a redeemed son or daughter begins to speak. Without grasping this hidden dimension, even the three legal rights we have just uncovered remain like a deed without a deed holder. A kingdom without a king inside the gates. That is what we will uncover when we step into the next chamber of this revelation. The chamber where the blood meets the new creation and the believer discovers what truly lives inside him.
Let everything you have heard today settle deep into your spirit. The blood of Jesus has done three things that change everything for the believer who will receive them. It has cleansed you completely. So, you never have to approach God as a sinner again. It has given you unrestricted access to the throne. So, you never have to pray from a distance as if you were an outsider. And it has secured your authority over the kingdom of darkness. So, you never have to live in fear of an enemy whose legal claim has already been canceled.
Begin to speak these realities aloud each morning. Refuse to entertain accusations the court of heaven has already dismissed. Stand on the finished work, not on your feelings, not on your circumstances, not on the whispers of the accuser. You are not trying to become righteous. You are righteous. You are not trying to reach the throne. You are seated near it. You are not waiting for victory. You are enforcing one. Walk in this today, and you will discover that the Christian life was never meant to be a struggle to get God to act. It was meant to be the joy of agreeing with what he has already done.
