I'm sick and tired of taking notes during meetings, and I know you are too. Whether you're in a meeting for your company or you're in class, I know that you really don't like having to take notes, and I've never liked having to take notes before. It's frustrating because every single day when I try to write things down, and someone says something new in the conversation or in the class I'm in, what ends up happening is I miss part of it. My brain lapses for some reason, and I need to think about, "Wait, what? Did they just say...? I don't really understand what's going on," and then I try to fumble over my notes one more time, another time, another time, another time. The fact of the matter is, this cycle inside of a meeting needs to stop. But lucky for you, I actually have a solution to your problems. I actually have three solutions that you're going to see in this video. All three are unique in how they can help you and end up doing things that you may not know exist and are possible in the world we live in today.
I'm talking about AI note-taking apps, of course. AI note-taking apps are inclusive of products that essentially take the words that are being said and track what you're being said in order for the system to figure out what's being said and then, after that, summarize it and answer questions about the meeting. You can actually see this in practice right now as I'm showing you the first example of this type of tool, which is Tactic. Tactic is a really cool AI note-taking app that has been around for a while, and essentially what it does do is it's a Chrome extension that transcribes whatever is being said in Google Meet, Teams, and Zoom. And from there, all of the notes being taken via the transcription end up getting added to my account at the end of the call. As you can see here on the Tactic account, it's a product that offers 10 free meetings per month in this way. And if I log in, you'll see that all of my meetings have been tracked. For example, here, this is a meeting where I can quickly ask for a detailed summary just like this and ask any specific question, and all of the transcribed notes will be captured right here. Now, this is the best option on this list if you're looking for one that's pretty cheap, and it's $12 per month for the pro version, which gives you unlimited transcripts. But to get started for free, I think it's a great option as well, and on the annual plan, everything is always cheaper, so be on the lookout for that being an option too. But this is probably your best option if you're looking for like a basic transcription that only includes text. It is solid, but what it does not do is it does not include video.
Now, not all of us want video, and that's totally okay. Some of us want an actual recorder that goes inside the call. As you can see, this is simply the Chrome extension, but what I'm going to show you next is actually the sponsor of this video: Fathom. You never have to take notes again with this product, as it allows you to not only record the transcript but also gives you video feedback. Unlike the Tactic Chrome extension, what it actually does is it allows it to add itself to any meeting you're in. So on Tactic, you actually need to take the call inside of your browser, but in this way, you can actually take it on the Zoom product rather than needing to take it on, uh, the call on a browser, because it is a little bit of a different experience because the same thing happens with Microsoft Teams too. As you can see here, after a finished call, you can ask different questions to Fathom. You can see the transcript right here between the different members of the team, and you can ask, with specific templates, responses to what's going on here. And as you can see, it works with all of these different products right here and even has integrations to products like Zoom, so you can automatically send highlights to Slack in real time. And unlike the next tool on the list, it even has a desktop app that you can install, and it works great. Last but not least on the list, we have Grain. Grain is another product that is a meeting recorder that not only takes down the words that are being said but actually records the videos here. So, for example, inside of here, you can see that this has a summary of what occurred in the call. Uh, the main purposes of this product versus other ones, I'd say, is that it has a pretty good showcase of when there's screen sharing going on and has some solid metrics. Some of the downsides are it is pretty expensive and doesn't have many integrations. As you can see on the pricing, it's $15 per month; business is $29 per seat per month, which is pretty expensive, whereas Fathom is $15, $19 per month, and then the team pro editions 29 per month. So you get the first couple tiers a lot cheaper than you do with Grain. This business plan is pretty expensive, and that HubSpot integration you get actually at a limited amount on the Team Edition. On Team Pro, you pretty much get the same integrations across the board, but as you'll see here, it takes until $29 per month to get unlimited uploads, whereas you get unlimited recordings on all the plans, including the free plan, on Fathom. So if you want to just literally do it for recording video and audio, it's pretty much the most expensive option on this list, but it does work pretty well. I'd say it's kind of got the worst UI in my opinion, though. Um, as you can see here, it's kind of a cluttered mess. If I want to go through and go to the transcript, I can search the transcript, but there's no really like question-asking option here. Uh, it has this summary, and there are custom templates that I could add here to ask questions, but it's not nearly as good, I'd say, as Fathom or Tactic on the asking-question side. It doesn't have an app. Sure, I can press "Ask Anything" here, like "What happened in this meeting?" but it wasn't obvious. I just don't think the layout's that great. Even after I ask the question, you'll see it doesn't like stick anywhere; it's not like a conversation; it's like a one-off question. So pretty cool product, but not quite what I'd like systematically. I'd say Fathom's just a little bit better of a user experience, and you get to try it out for free—free for unlimited meetings, which I think is great.
