The transiting Sun

Truth In Aspect Astrology/ Jewel41:51

Which are definitely at the basis of my fun day today. Sun Saturn aspects are something to pay attention to because these are the days of the year where we make progress when it comes to gaining self-respect. These are the days of the year when we make critical decisions regarding what is our responsibility to someone else versus what is our responsibility to ourself. And we can make some decisions that set us up for a long-term success. Even though this is a transit that only lasts a few days, three days at the most, the week might have the mood of it, and it will peak on a certain day. That that day is when we typically do something related to how we are going to take greater responsibility for ourself and greater responsibility for our lives. So when we have the transit of the Sun to Saturn, it is not a good day. It is, it feels depressing.

Tasa, do you want to ask something before I get going here? Just about to start pontificating. Yes, um, sorry, I just wanted to ask is that, um, when transiting Sun comes to Saturn, because is the, okay, so the, if it's transiting Saturn that lasts a long time, right? That is about a year. Yeah, that we're going to have that going on. So this is a, a peak of three days that we have when Sun, because the Sun is only conjunct a vital planet for one day officially of the year. It's about three days time that we're really going to feel the way. Okay, okay. So, um, everything that you're saying right now, if, um, if it's transiting Saturn, then this is how you'll feel for a year. Yes. Yeah. Um, more or less. That that is a, it's a simple way to understand it. Although there will be significantly more breakdowns and conflicts and, um, breakthroughs with Saturn conjunct to the Sun because it is so much more pressure for a much more extended period of time. Okay, okay. Yeah. The, the Sun to Saturn is a more watered-down transit than Saturn to the Sun. But right, uh, we get some similar effects here in a very shorter amount of time with Sun to Saturn. So we don't feel happy when we have Saturn in, I'm sorry, when in the Sun, when we have the Sun in a difficult aspect of Saturn. These are the days of the year where we generally feel most discouraged, most like we can't get to what we want, most like we can't be understood by somebody or reach somebody. So there, there's like an isolation that we can experience. And it makes us act because we feel something uncomfortable. And many times when we have the conjunction of the Sun to Saturn, we are going to need to stand up for ourselves in some way. It's not like a Sun Mars transit where we're spoiling for a fight. It's the Sun Saturn transit where we are asserting a boundary. And a lot of times that boundary is so we can avoid a fight. We can avoid conflict. And we are called to assert ourselves in a way where we can gain self-respect. That self-respect at all the hard transits may come at the expense of the respect of another. It may come at the expense of a relationship with another or the opinion of another or the positive, uh, the positive opinion of another. Because we're really looking at, what do I owe myself versus what do I owe you? And the, these can be the days of our lives. If you look back now, not every year will be this impactful, but if you look back, these can be the days of our lives where we put our foot down or when we, what we say in America, throw down the gauntlet, you know, say, this is how it's going to be or this is the expectation. These are the days where we show up because you cannot show up unless you have boundaries. Your boundaries are what define you. Your boundaries are what make you individual. They make you stand out. I think that's why so many of us don't want to have them because they make you visible among a pack of predators. It's a lot easier to just blend in, isn't it? And be a zebra with the same kind of stripes as everybody else. So when you stand out, you are a target. When you are creative, you are a target. And if you're not prepared to be seen, then don't assert your boundaries. Boundaries are sexy. They're sexy because they define your shape. If we don't have boundaries, it's because we are a part of a wallpaper. We're disguised. We're chameleon-like. Even we might be liked by more people overall, but we won't really be respected. Respect lasts longer than adoration. It's truth. Respect is everlasting. Saturn wants us to do something, and we have these hard transits that make us stand out and make us memorable. If you're a chameleon-like, if you're fitting in, if you're a people pleaser, you cannot be memorable because you are not special. And it's okay to be special. We're consciously showing up because we're not saying I'm special because I'm better. Saying I'm special because I believe in myself. I believe that I have something amazing to offer. Saturn is the proper ultimate value of ourself. And the Sun is asking us to do something, to take an action that puts our life in the trajectory of our life more in tune with the, the actual practical realistic our. So and so we may cut some people out of our life on the day that we have this conjunction. We might tell somebody no. We might refuse a task or a responsibility that we would usually feel obligated to. And that's a good thing because we have to remember that a no to one thing is a yes to something else. And when we're asserting our boundary, we are saying no to many things. We're not open to everything when we're asserting a boundary. And that is why it's so hard for people to assert one in the first place because it means that you're closing off to other possibilities. And if you have a grass is greener complex, if you suffer a lot of insecurity, it's very hard to close yourself off to other possibilities because you aren't really sure about what you want. If you're not really sure about what you want, then you need to keep things open-ended. You need to keep your options open. So we get more sure about what we're willing to show up for when we have the Sun conjunct to Saturn. And we are cutting some things out. And we aren't enjoying it on the day that the Sun is conjunct to Saturn. The week that we have this, it's not like the Sun comes to town conjunct Saturn, we like, now I get to rise up and I get to tell my grandmother I'm not coming over to give her another haircut because I've already been over three times this week. Not happy about the things that we're saying no to. It feels very hard. It is a very dreary transit. And I think even at the time when we have the conjunction or the other hard aspects, we are driven by frustration. We can be driven even by being at our wits' end regarding what that, what somebody expects of us or what somebody thinks of us. So this can seriously, this conjunction can be magical when it comes to pushing you to do something that is uncharacteristically badass. We take control. Uh, we are at an energetic low. We aren't feeling like we want to get out, take on the world. It is a good idea to throw ourselves into work or what we actually can accomplish. That's a good way to work out our sense of futility that can there or our sense of, uh, realizing that, you know, we have some measure of control in our life. Uh, but we only have control over self. That's really the only control that we, we ever have. Only control and our own reactions. And, uh, everything else can often be a crapshoot.

Ellie, isn't this somehow happening with Saturn transits to the Ascendant as well? Saturn approaching my Descendant, I feel very much like describing. Oh yes, baby, yes. I have Saturn, um, transiting my Descendant right now. Saturn crossing the Ascendant, or is a maximum amount of karma for what, uh, we've been doing? How have we been making decisions? How have we been taking responsibility for our life? So yes, um, is Saturn at the Ascendant, it can be something that's very draining and very isolating. Mhm. It'll pass. At least it'll make you lose weight. That's always a good one about Saturn on the Ascendant because we don't want to eat. We're sad.

Back to the Sun. Also a day that we lose our appetite when the Sun is conjunct to Saturn. Saturn is known for leanness, skinniness, meagerness. And, um, we have meager solar power on the day where the Sun is conjunct to Saturn. We have meager narcissism in us. We have meager self-focus. We're, it's, it's more of a day where we can experience more humility. We might even be humiliated, which causes us to assert a boundary, which causes to fight back, say no, this is my expectation. I will be, this is my expectation of your behavior, this is my expectation of what you should do in accordance to the agreement that we have made, etc., etc. So we do a lot of finger-wagging on this day, uh, at others, potentially, but definitely at ourselves. Definitely at ourselves because this can be the day we're like, you know what, you left me no choice. Either in a work situation, with a child, in a romantic relationship, in a friendship, we can feel like you've left me no choice. I have to, you know, cut you out, give you a talking to, distance myself from you, renegotiate how we deal with each other because I feel like I'm not being respected. I feel like you're not making room for me in the relationship. I feel like you are not, um, uh, you know, considering my end of things or my thoughts and feelings. It's, it's again, standing up, asserting ourselves, often redefining who we are as that person sees us. We have to tell them, listen, I know that this is what you think of me. I know this is your expectation, but this is who I am. This is how I want to be treated. You see, there is a process of assertion that redefines us within relationships, redefines our boundaries. And it's only going to come usually because somebody didn't recognize us the way that we really want it to be recognized.

Which brings us to the sextile, which, uh, is a good answer to the conjunction. So we're building on the autonomy that we gained, the definition that we gained, the proper assertion of boundaries that we gained at the conjunction. Uh, we might be noticed for being diligent. At the sextile, it is not uncommon for people that employ us, our audience, the people that pay us, it's not unusual for them to recognize us for a job well done, for our diligence, for for our talent, for what we've put in there. There is a gentle, quieter recognition that can come with this sextile. Uh, we are not feeling drained like we are at the hard aspects. We're not feeling pressure. We are feeling effective. We can get a lot done. The week that the Sun, oops, man. All right, I'm going to have to plug in. I hope this really catches up here. Right. Stupid. All right, so I'm going to plug in. And if the charge cannot keep up with the drainage, then we're going to switch over to my other iPad. So you guys shouldn't have to do anything. I think I can do that on my end here. We'll see what happens. Um, so we are feeling very capable and order is getting arranged. We're putting things in place. We know where everything is. When I had, I had this one not long ago, a few months ago, I cleaned up my cottage so well. I remember that day. I just felt compelled. I mean, I even like got out a few crates of kids, kids' baby stuff that I had just not found a place for. And like the detail stuff of moving in, I finally, finally got through all of it. It's such a good day because we feel like we were able to tackle some deals or even some things that normally we wouldn't tackle them, get through with it, and then feel the pride, the relief, and the, um, you're giving yourself a good pat on the back for something that we didn't want to do, but we did it. Endly, that's not hard to do at the sextile to do things that we don't really normally want to do because we see the compelled to like eat the leftovers on our plate, you could say the yearly leftovers on our plate. We eat them when we have the Sun in a sextile to Saturn because we don't want to waste. We see that, uh, you know, if we finish what we started, you can only pay off. And it's easy for us to do. Um, we're also more cooperative. We don't have the isolation that we experience at the hard aspects or that the feeling of, I want to reach somebody or I want to connect with somebody, but I can't. It isn't a warm fuzzy transit like a Sun Jupiter thing, but it does make us seek out others in an effort to, um, make some of our own personal goals, other people have, you know, similar mindset, stuff like that. So we are, um, we're not distractible. When we have the Sun in a sextile to Saturn, we're again focused, diligent, and often noticed. And we aren't, um, pushing our boundary part, just saying no. We aren't saying a hard no to things. We are, um, more focused on what we've already got going on and improving that and tying up the loose ends about what's previously been started.

All right, so that brings us to, oh, wait, wait, my last note. All aspects to Saturn ask us with the need for delayed gratification. So even at the sextile, we are working first, playing last, and that is what pays off. And the more we are thinking about what is serious, what is important, and what holds gravity in our life, the better off we are on that particular day. We need to really be considering what do we really need to do in order to have the kind of life that we want.

All right, so that brings us to the square, where we are once again asking, what do I want for me? What do I want for you? What's good for me versus what's good for you? What is my responsibility to myself versus what is my responsibility to you? And we are feeling isolated again. We are not energetic. The week, and especially the day, three days that we have this particular square, uh, we can be very discouraged. We are, um, we're, we're experiencing others in a way or life in a way or or having situations go on that are really making us question how we see ourselves versus, uh, who we really might be. So we're looking at our hypocrisy on this particular day, and we may not feel very good about ourselves. We always make some kind of adjustment or, uh, do something so we can feel less, you can feel less slimy. So nobody likes to feel like a hypocrite, right? We get right with ourselves in some way. It does come at a cost because it's a square. Usually there's some kind of humiliation that we're going to feel and then endure when it comes to, uh, changing things or asserting ourselves in such a way where we can not feel like we aren't, you know, as effective as we'd like to be. Um, we can feel forced into a corner, and we really have to ask ourselves, is this what I'm really supposed to be doing? A lot of times it's not. Um, we could, we could feel like, you know, some of our autonomy is not available to us. There's an expectation or end that we have to meet, or we can't regain the respect or the admiration of somebody else unless we, you know, act in a certain way. So we aren't, uh, we aren't really sure of ourselves. So we have to look at how can we possibly get better confidence? And just looking at my, my parents are distracting me. They're in their, laying their new floor. I keep telling them I'm working, doing this. They're in their 70s. It's their care. They just do whatever they want to do when they, and they even drink wine at one o'clock in the afternoon if they want to. They do whatever they want to do. Sometimes they just take off and they don't even tell us where they are. They just go off and they go off dancing like teenagers. They don't even tell anybody. They're interesting people. That's so sweet. They're funny. They are. They've been married 55 years now. They are still in Venus Mars opposition. And the composite chart, that'll keep you interested for a long time. Really. It's a good one. I would like to experience that one one day. That's a good one. Got the square with the mayor. I'll tell you how it turns out. So we are, um, feeling a bit less than what we would like to feel when it comes to pride. And when we have a square, and we are called to fix that. Uh, yeah, I noted the square. I've been paying attention to these transits really, really heavily myself. And, um, on the day that I had the square, I really did, uh, I really did feel isolated, you know, from several people, you know, close people, close around me. And it was actually that day that, uh, my daughter reached out to me and apologized for her behavior in a previous, a previous argument. The distance between the two of us, and I was able to take responsibility for my part in things. But it is a day that, at least previous to, you know, making an effort to get right with ourselves or to assert a boundary or to show up in a way that's more clear and more true, uh, we can expect some amount of pressure or sadness.

All righty, so that brings us to the Trine. Okay, I got a little bit faster. Um, we, I just had the Trine. I loved it so much. Um, Sun Trine to Saturn is a day where we can clearly see what we'd like to be. There is a feeling of appreciation for ourselves that we can experience during this period of time. There's a confidence that comes with it. There's a perspective that leads to the confidence that comes with this. So we understand the value of self-control, and we are happy to invite discipline into our life. These are the days, and we have this, you know, the peak day, a couple of days a year. These are the days when we can more closely define, uh, what some of our goals are. What do we really want? And it doesn't come with conflict like it does with the hard aspects because we're building on the square. Hopefully, we did something at the square that helped to make some kind of change or helped to make some room in our life for more authenticity. We feel very transparent when we have this particular Trine. We have the ability to, you know, what it feels like. Oh, this day, it feels like when you go to the top of the hill or mountain, you get more of a view. You can kind of see the land. You can kind of get above a village, you can see the entirety of the village. It's not like we're standing on the top of Mount Everest and we're getting more of a view of the globe. It's, it isn't more of a territorial view, but it, it is an expansion of, um, our perception that we're enjoying. And because it's expanded, because we're taking in more, we aren't as concerned with what's going wrong. We aren't just concerned with not working. And we're building on what is at the hard transits. We're focused on what's not working. The sextile and the Trine, uh, we're actively working on and building with what is working. And if we do have to make changes, they're much easier. It is very easy to say no when the Sun is trying to Saturn because we have such discipline. Uh, okay, I think that's what I wanted to say about the Trine.

All right, that brings us to the opposition, which is the answer to the conjunction. At this, about six months after we get the conjunction, so depending on what happened at the conjunction, the opposition could be, um, it could be a bit rougher or not. Uh, if we did stand up for ourselves well at the conjunction, we can expect good results at the opposition. But we do feel limited. We can feel like we, um, we can't connect in a way or with somebody that fulfills our our need to be seen, that's the Sun, and our self-expression, that's what the Sun is, our authenticity. That seems to be conflicting with the boundaries of another, the expectations of another. That could be work, that could be personal, can be children. So at the conjunction, we're asserting our own boundary. Now, at the opposition, we have to balance our personal boundary with what's good for the boundary and with with the boundary of another, and what's good for another. It's more self-focused at the conjunction. God, I love the conjunction. I gotta tell you, this year's conjunction of Sun to Saturn, I will just never forget it. There was one a few years ago too, where I just totally went ballistic on that particular day. I totally did. I tore somebody in my personal life a new one, but good on that day. And it was so good. It was so good because it was a building, it was a building boil in a personal relationship that was popped on that particular day when I just said no more. And there's been a few days in my life where I've had that happen to me on this when I've had that conjunction. Now, with the opposition, we do have to be more conscious about the effect that our behavior and the assertion of our own boundary is going to have on another. Because not only are we learning a lesson, but we are teaching by example. We are teaching another a lesson, not just by what we're telling them, but what we're modeling. And you want to model gentleness, but yet justice. You know what I heard today? Um, I was speaking with that Sevilia Knows, uh, from Greece, and she told me the best quote. And she said, when you get angry, in Greece, they like to say, you lose your justice. You lose all your justice. Something like that. Isn't that a great way to put it? I think we should all adopt that. Of course, that's what happens. You lose the, the, the pointedness of something. You lose the point. And when we have this opposition Sun, Saturn, we have to be very careful that we stick to the because that's how we're most effective. So yes, we will probably have to push, put pressure on somebody in some way, say no to somebody in some way, but we really do need to consider what is the effect going to be on them when it comes to how to correct their behavior. We're not as concerned about that with the conjunction. We're just like, out. But with the opposition, we're like, hmm, first I'm going to point out to you exactly what's going on here, and I'm going to do my best to effectively communicate what this problem is, what I need. And if I don't get the response I need, if I don't, you know, see, if I don't get the feedback I need, then it's going to so it's not. So we're not so quick to cut the cord at the opposition because we realize the consequence when it comes to the evolvement of the other person, the evolution, the character involvement, what is the other person going to learn? Yeah, we want to teach them a lesson at the conjunction. Oh yes, we probably will. But at the opposition, we want that same thing, but we don't want it to be wasted. We want that person to remember it. So we're very effective. We are at an energetic low, as we are with all of the other Sun Saturn transits. And, uh, we can feel very discouraged as well. We can feel, um, you feel like, like it's a, it's a crappy day and that life just isn't going as according to plan. And we have to remind ourselves that it's a mood. It is a mood. Uh, but this can be a very discouraging transit. And the more that we can focus on what we can, uh, what we can accomplish, what we can control, what was, what is within our realistic sphere of influence, the better off we are. If we focus on what is outside of what we can control, um, we feel so small and so diminished and so humiliated on this day. We need to just focus on what needs to get done, and what we can, what we, what we can just realistically accomplish. Throw yourself into that. That's when things work out the best for us with this particular opposition.
