These 13 years have been such that I have done internships during my studies and also started a job. How many of you are currently doing any part-time job or freelancing along with your studies? Okay, very nice. The biggest benefit of this is that when you complete your degree, your exposure is already very well-built. My basic background is from tech. My degree is in HR. But my background, the companies I have worked with, are purely in tech. What happens in tech? People wait for their degree to be completed, and then they will start their jobs. If there were no compulsion from universities, perhaps people wouldn't even do internships. To be honest. Internships are kept by universities or foundations so that you all can actively participate in it. So that you all can also struggle a bit, so that you get an idea that the market is very saturated and it is not as easy to get a job in the market as we think. By now, through internships, you must have gotten an idea of how tough the competition is in the market. Is that right? Okay. So our topic for today is career readiness and personal branding. Now, when we say personal branding, what comes to your mind? What is personal branding? And why is personal branding important, and what is its main purpose? Okay, okay, exactly. When we go for an interview anywhere, and when people check our resume and our LinkedIn, our image is already built in their minds about who we actually are. Just as Ahmed was saying, the way people have kept their email IDs, a recruiter's and an interviewer's mind is already built for you. Following Ahmed's point, I will tell you, if you are about to enter your professional life, first of all, start making your email IDs a bit professional. Please, do not mention names like the ones Ahmed mentioned. Please start creating professional things. Because when you add it to your CV, it creates both a very good and a bad image. Regarding career readiness. Career readiness is basically about what your soft skills, your attitude should be like, which you need to adapt to enter professional life. Like, what core competencies should you have that can easily attract you towards anything or build a good portfolio for you. What happens here? I myself am an HR in my company. Many CVs come for jobs and internships. When I did my internship, there was a level of passion that we used to say we would do it even for free. We don't need a stipend. It doesn't matter. For us, the basic purpose was learning. But nowadays, Gen Z has changed things a bit. Obviously, this is a very good thing that they are giving importance to how we define our boundaries. Yes, it is right that you prefer a stipend, but learning is equally important as compared to a stipend. How many students here are from CS or computer science? Okay. So, you have a mixed background? Let me give you a little idea. What is your background? Tell me. What is your degree background? Sorry, yet. Okay, languages. Okay. When you go into your domain in the market, what platform do you use other than references like, "Can you forward my resume?" or "I need an internship," or for example, if you are doing it through Al-Khidmat, they will definitely forward your resumes. Tell me. You, yes. You, if you want to do an internship, and your degree is in the fifth or sixth semester. So, what would you do to gain an internship? Okay, got it. Well, at this stage, how many of you are already connected on LinkedIn by your fourth or fifth semester? Oh, very nice. This is a very good thing. Now, did your universities impose that you have to create a LinkedIn profile, or did you randomly think that you should create your LinkedIn profile? Randomly. Okay, fine. Well, if it was a random thought, it's a very good thought, because LinkedIn is as important as your resume is. When we share your profile with our C-level management, we attach your resume and your LinkedIn link with it. The reason behind this is that LinkedIn also tells about your personal branding, that you are proactive. For example, as I am in HR, what do I do? I post content related to HR. There was a time when people only posted their content on Insta, or Facebook, or TikTok. But now, all those things have come in an educated form on LinkedIn, that what content can we post on LinkedIn that will build a positive image for us when we go for an interview anywhere. One thing, the second most important thing, how many of you have created your CV yourself, or had someone else create it, or even had ChatGPT or Claude create your CV? Okay? Well, I will ask you some random questions because I already told you that I will make this session interactive. What do you think, if someone is from Multan, should they mention their hometown or their city, Multan, based on the fact that they are applying in Lahore? Should they write Multan or Lahore? How many people will raise their hands for Lahore? And for Multan. Well, that's absolutely not the case. That's completely wrong. These are the small mistakes that candidates make. Now, I have a CV here where I have clearly mentioned one thing: "Position is on-site based in Johar Town, Lahore." Now, what do you think? If I get a CV from Multan, whether it's a recruiter or an ATS, don't you think it will be rejected outright, saying this person is from Multan? Why would I pick up the phone, make a call, and waste my time confirming whether they can relocate or not? So, the most important thing here is that no matter which city you are from, if you are applying in a particular city, you should mention that city. Second thing, if you give the address, it will also be different. Well, I will tell you, we are noticing these small things nowadays too, that if a resource is living in Johar Town, we will not call them from Phase Six. If a resource is living in Phase Five, we will not consider them eligible for a job in DHA from the start. Your hometown is Karachi, your hometown is Multan, your hometown is Gujranwala. A company or a recruiter has no concern with that. You are currently living in Lahore, you are currently living in a hostel, you are living in Lahore. Because the job is in Lahore. Some of you might have an idea about ATS. What does ATS usually do? Applicant Tracking System. Now there are so many AI-based systems. ATS is already commanded by the company that if a candidate from this city, this university, this skill set, or this contact number, or this degree level, or this area comes, then filter it and send it to us. Otherwise, it filters it out from the first step. Okay? And if I am a recruiter, and I have 50 CVs in a day, I open one CV, it says Multan. I know this person is from Multan. Why would I call them and ask, "Hey, you are from Multan?" "Oh, no, I am currently living in Lahore." Okay. When your hiring is done, then in the details, you can share your actual ID card, actual details, actual address, whatever it is. But still, the point is the same. We have already physically mentioned it on the scene. These are called words, most address. So, if you have told the first lie, no, no, no, this is not a lie. I am telling you, I am not living here, but still, I am present there. Okay, I understand your point. In Lahore, even in our own company, 70% of the employees are from other cities. As soon as Eid comes, as soon as there are holidays, 70% of the audience is not present. They don't even cry here. And quite a few people from other cities come to Lahore or Karachi because there are many job opportunities there. Now, the issue here is not about truth or lies. For example, my hometown is Afghanistan. The company has nothing to do with it. I am currently living in Lahore. I am applying for a job in Lahore. That matters. I told you that I was hiring for a company in Johar Town recently, and my CEO clearly told me that we will not consider CVs from Phase Six or from DHA Phase One to Three. Because then the candidate agrees to anything out of emotion or need for the job. But later, there are so many problems, it's raining, there's no electricity, there's a traffic jam. That's the reason. Lahore is not that small either. It has become so big. So, we also count these factors. That's why when we post jobs on LinkedIn, we always mention the location. And now, for all students, we focus on this that along with the city, you should also write your area. For example, Aksa, and below it, my area is that I live in Gulberg, Lahore, Johar Town, Lahore, DHA, Lahore. Now, Bahria is also a side. Now, all the people from Bahria or from DHA, Johar Town suits them. But on the other hand, people living in Lake City or those living in Johar Town will not be suited by DHA. So, we already note all these factors because, at the end, it creates a problem. Clear? Second thing, what do you think, if you have a contact number, should you share your regular contact number or the one with WhatsApp? Exactly, because nowadays in Lahore, there is a lot of concern about signals. When a recruiter calls, it directly says "powered off." Is that right? That's why giving a WhatsApp number is very important. Because now, all the details are shared by the recruiter beforehand, that you share your name, city, your current, expected, all this with us through WhatsApp. Right? After that, I have already told you about the email ID, that you should mention your professional email ID, in which if you get an offer letter or any invitation, it builds a positive image for you. After that, the third important thing is that you should also mention your LinkedIn link. Well, now it's a very minor thing. Now, on the LinkedIn link, people do what? They go to the profile, copy-paste the URL, and paste it into the CV. Do you think this is correct? Copy-paste, went to the profile, no, it has a very lengthy link. So, on LinkedIn, there are three dots on the side, and they give you the option to edit, where you can change that name. So, what I did, initially, I copy-pasted my LinkedIn link. But someone guided me. What I did, I mentioned Aksa Salman, that's it. So, similarly, if your name is very lengthy, if your name is Arooba Bashir, then linkedin.com/AroobaBashir, it automatically gives you the command to mention it. So, in these small things, so much professionalism is expected from you. You must do this. Right? Well. After that, what do you think? If your degree is completely, I mean, fresh, and you haven't done any internship, do you really think you should mention irrelevant things? Although nowadays we are getting all our resumes made through GPT, Claude, and Rock. Do you think we should add irrelevant things that we haven't even done? There should be experience. Like, the address point just happened to me. What I think is, if you have done it, okay, you do it for that reason, still, what should I not mention in my resume? Where I am residing, should I not do that? Well, you can do this: you can write the point of your hometown, and below it, you can write that you still mentioned Lahore because that has been the usual practice. In that case, there are many chances. I told you, I was hiring for a company recently, and they specifically told me this, it was a very big company, that we will not hire outside Lahore. Because when there is a holiday, when there is Eid, these people will take two or three holidays and leave. Why do these scenarios come into the CEOs' minds? Because these are their experiences. I am from Sheikhupura. Now, two holidays for Eid came. Friday and Saturday came in between. I myself took leave. Why? It's my hometown. Now I am going after six months, I will come back in just a week. I will take a week of work from home. Some companies are very flexible. But some are a bit reluctant about these things, saying, "No, we don't want to address this." They prefer that we want a Lahore resident. I am also freelancing, and I am with companies. But if you want, you can mention that you are a resident of Multan and you are currently living in Johar Town, Lahore. This will build your profile better. Many people even come to Lahore for studies. So, we advise them the same, and the preference is also that you mention where you are currently living, because it doesn't have any bad impact as such. Because if your CV is going into ATS, which 70-80% of companies follow nowadays, do you have an idea about ATS? Just asking. No. No. Well, ATS is basically Applicant Tracking System. For example, my company posted a job: "Nucleus is hiring for fresh CS interns," and they provided a link. Now, that link will directly transfer to our in-house ATS. That ATS, which I have commanded myself, that the student should be from ECS University. The student's CGPA should be 3+. The student's skill set should be in .NET, in .NET Core. It should be in AI/ML. If they have written anything other than all this, it will be removed at the first step. Many CVs are checked manually by people too. But many companies now have ATS, and even AI-based ATS. We have already commanded AI that we need this type of intern or this type of candidate, and it will give us only that. It will not give us anything else. Okay? Sometimes I also check manually to see which ones it rejected, and on what basis it rejected them. It tells you everything that I have crossed it on these points. Just like you often give your resume to GPT and ask, "Tell me, how many marks would you give my resume from an ATS perspective?" It often gives you two marks. It often gives you eight. And when it gives you two, it also tells you why I rejected you on these factors and why I gave you eight marks. So, now everything is AI-based. So, try to get your resumes checked by Claude once. When you get them made, then tell Claude to mark my resume, and if there is any mistake in the marking, tell me what I can fix. Okay. Tell me, should your resume be in Word format or PDF format? Obviously, anyone can edit in Word and remove their things. So, try to give it in PDF format. Well, if you have one year of experience in any company, tell me, should you write lengthy details in it, or should you mention the experiences you have had? Like, does quantity matter to you, or quality? Quality, exactly. Because I have worked on KPIs. There are many chances that you will get questions from that. Right? If any recruiter calls you for your initial screening, what do you think? What are the four or five important things you should tell them? Tell me. Red shirt. Yes. Meaning, if someone asks you, "Please introduce yourself," what would you say in those three to four lines? Your background, your skill set, where you have experience, actual experience, if you have done any personal projects, or for a corporate company. Okay. So, we can answer this like, if someone is asking Aksa, "Please introduce yourself." Then what will I say? I will say, "Assalamu Alaikum. This is Aksa. I have 2+ years of experience working in .NET. And my core competencies are AI/ML and SQL and WWW. And I have been working in this field for the last two years, and I did my bachelor's from FAST. And looking forward to working with you." When I started hiring, people started telling irrelevant things. "My father is a landlord, my mother is a housewife," things like that. "I have two brothers." So, all this is completely unnecessary. Try not to tell these things at all. Tell them about your degree, tell them about your internships. And in those internships, whatever you learned, mention it on your CV and tell them as well. What happens is, students go with a university mindset. Just like in university, there is a lot of relaxation, chilling, there isn't that much flexibility. When you go into the corporate world, things change 360 degrees. So, this is actually career readiness, how you convert your soft skills, your attitude, or your degree, which brings you into professional life. Well, can someone tell me what are the actual soft skills? Communication. Okay. And behavior, attitude, mindset, adaptability. Sorry. Focus. Communication. Exactly. Well, when we write communication skills.
The one thing that goes into people's minds is that English must be very good. Isn't that right? We write, "Excellent communication skills are a must." Communication skills don't have that much to do with English. Communication skills are actually about being able to explain your point to someone and understand someone else's point. This is actually communication skills. What happens in adaptability? You have joined a company. They have maintained a slightly harsh attitude with you for two days. On the third day, you leave. I don't understand the company. Exactly, this is what happens. I have been seeing these things for six years. And as Ahmed mentioned a little while ago, girls not only have a higher strength but also more applications. It is largely true that girls are as serious about their careers nowadays as boys are, but perhaps a little less so. Meaning, seeing the strength here, the idea is that all this strength is from females. Now, I am telling you this based on my experiences. I am not just saying it. I was hiring for the night shift for my company, and now many software houses are working in the US time zone. You people would know, from 6:30 PM to 3:30 or 4 AM. I received CVs. I called the girls. 9 out of 10 girls were more okay with the night timings as compared to boys. Do you know what I heard? "Ammi is not agreeing." I swear, "Ammi is not agreeing." From there, I got an idea based on my six years of experience. I am repeating this because I do recruitment on a daily basis. For my company, freelancing, and we also get such news from our circle. Girls have been given scooters by their parents. Now, whether it's in DHA, my friend's house is in Samanabad, and her office is in Phase 8, and she goes to Phase 8 very comfortably on her scooter. So, this is a very positive thing actually, that girls are more demanding in this regard compared to boys. So, I was telling you that she said, "My mother is not agreeing." Then, initially, when I told them about the salary, that the starting salary is 70 to 80 along with commissions. They said, "The salary is too little." On the other hand, I offered girls 60-65. They were like, "Okay," and they even came for the interview. But the attitude of the boys, my personal recommendation to you is that initially, whatever job you get, I also started my career from CSR at Abacus. Customer support gives you very good training; your communication becomes very good. I would recommend that you all work at Abacus, work at IBEX, work at TRG. Work for a year, a year and a half, but definitely do it. Patience builds within you, your communication skills become very good. You learn how to talk to people. That thing builds within you: if any kind of circumstances arise, how will we solve it? How will we bring problem-solving within ourselves? This is very important. Don't wait to get your first job for a lakh or two lakhs. Small steps are more important. Big steps don't have that much significance. So, based on all these things, if you are getting an internship for free somewhere, please do that. After this, I would like to add a point related to CVs. Do you think I say this every time? But still, in the CVs I received until yesterday, this thing was there. Do you think you should write hobbies in your resume? Cricket playing, reading books? No, absolutely not. You absolutely should not write them. Like this is, this is so much an outdated thing. Nobody writes this anymore. Rather, publish the links of the articles you have written, the tasks you have done, the projects you have completed. I have an idea about CS, that they have multiple projects, AI-related projects. The freelance tasks they have done. Like if someone is a graphic designer, like UI/UX, front-end, back-end. The tasks you have done, you have done for any kind of client. Mention their links. Build your portfolio. On Behance, on any other platform. Mention its link. Because companies, they mention that thing. They give more importance to that thing. Okay? When you mention your degree, people don't mention the year. If they mention it, then only 2019, 2022. So, the most ideal thing in this is to mention the full duration, from 2017 to 2019. Don't mention the ending year, don't mention the starting year. Recruiters get quite confused with the year you mention, whether it's the start or the end. We can't even do our calculations to know when they started and when they ended. Does anyone have any questions until here? Then we will go towards personal branding. Yes, please. You said that when you offered to girls, but when you offered to boys, you offered 85 girls? Our budget constraints were the same. For example, boys were to be placed in sales. Girls were only for customer support, where they just had to answer the queries that came in. Boys were to be placed in sales, on call. Now, what happens is that people misbehave on calls. So, we had diversification that this is the role for boys, and this is the role for girls. That's why their incentives were comparatively higher, and girls' were comparatively lower. It varies from role to role. If you also want to go into sales, then salaries and commissions are also very high. I am expecting questions. You all have built your top-notch CVs. Top-notch will be taken. Yes. Ma'am, you have told us about CS students. But if someone is an LLB student, studying LLB, what is necessary for them to create an account on LinkedIn? How should they do their branding? Exactly. Okay. LLB students can share their real-time scenarios. They can do real-time storytelling. You did an internship under a senior. In those two months, share the real-time stories you witnessed. How you solved a very big problem. What ideas you gave. What was your contribution in between? Okay? The entire case was fought by a senior. What was your contribution in between? So, you can do storytelling in that. That would be your personal branding. As I said, I post HR-related content. I tell people on and off. I just posted a job last night that I am posting on behalf of someone, and I have tagged them too. But trust me, I can show you at the moment. The entire audience is messaging me, saying they are taking my CV for remote roles, my CV for remote roles. Now, sometimes we also mention that for HR, companies usually prefer females. Even then, we are getting CVs from males. The only problem is that we only look at the first line. Often, it says "Hiring for HR Executive." After that, experience, location, salary bracket, everything is forgotten. Nothing is visible. And this is a very, very, very important thing that whenever a job post comes, take 2 minutes to read it carefully. Then take a deep breath. Relax, and then send your CV. First of all, see what they have asked for. Male or female, what is the salary bracket? Is it remote or on-site? Now, I posted a job for a female, and 100% of the CVs are from males. And if I have written "On-site Johar Town," and I call someone, "Brother, can you come to Johar Town?" "Oh, sorry, I thought it was remote." Not for HR, for CS, for AI/ML, for graphic designer, for anything. "Sorry, we thought it was." After that, I got a CV from Karachi. I said, "You applied. Did you see it says "On-site Johar Town" on it?" "Oh, sorry, I didn't see." So, this "I didn't see" point, if you see it at once, and this thing is becoming so common that many well-educated, well-experienced people make these mistakes. So, whenever someone posts a job, first look carefully. Look at their email ID. If someone has given an email ID, apply on it. If someone has said DM, apply in DM, and don't just write "Hi" in DM. Please, make a proper, full-fledged message. "My name is [Name], and I am applying for the post of this. I have attached my CV with you." That's it. There's no need to write "Hi" in it, to wait for the recruiter to say "Hello" to me, then I will ask "How are you?" After "How are you?", no recruiter has that much time to talk to you at length. Similarly, if you are emailing, do you think sending a CV without a subject is a good act? If you write without a subject, how will I know what it is for? So, what should we write in the subject? If you are applying for the post of Graphic Designer, write the details: "My name is Hamza. I have 3.5 years of experience. I have worked in these places. And this is my CV. Regards." That's it. Sometimes people don't even write their number in their CV. There, the chances of a recruiter approaching you or applying are completely gone. Sometimes I reply to them in an email. Does anyone have a question? Yes. Okay, you are a medical student. Okay, it's indeed a very different field, but it's good that you are pursuing two different careers simultaneously. Okay, so in that, you will completely share your links. Whatever work you have done, whatever your portfolio is, okay? Because the degree and your career are aligned. Nowadays, this thing is not given much importance. I have often seen Mass Com students in HR, or CS students becoming Business Analysts, Business Development people. So, that's not an issue. But how much work have you done? Are you freelancing on Fiverr, Upwork? Okay, fine. You will mention all your links in your CV, and the degree, well, you should write it at the very end. Don't write it at the beginning. The degree either at the very end or at the beginning. If it's not relevant, I would recommend writing it at the end. Write your experiences. Write your clients' feedback. If you have received a rating from a client on Upwork, write that. It can build your profile quite well. And the same goes for LinkedIn as well. Because nowadays, most people prefer that. Okay. So, I was telling you. My question is, will the CV be different for every job we apply for, or will it be the same? What is your background? CS. CS. Okay. So, in which tech stack do you want to apply? Internship. Internship idea. Internship. Okay, meaning internship in front-end, back-end, any idea so that I can accordingly... Graphic design? Okay. So, will we also write our projects in it? Although they will be a bit irrelevant, but if you, after doing CS, go into graphic designing. There's no issue with that either. But again, you will just talk about your projects and your interests. Because once, see, if your internship happens, by chance, then there are many chances that if your journey doesn't continue, then in your semester, third, third... chances are that in your upcoming semesters, you can do an internship in designing and try to do feasible projects so that your background, people will think your background... okay. So, your background should be more prominent in that. Okay? You are welcome. Okay. Okay. Okay. Ma'am, I am currently pursuing my A-levels. And, well, obviously, in high school, I am just doing that. And I have already done eight internships and two jobs. And I have built up my LinkedIn profile. And I am currently doing a marketing job at Allure Showroom, which is in Asli Tabeer, as a part-time. So, I want to know that what skills should I build up for the future, or should I focus more on jobs? What will engineering universities prefer, and like, if I want to enhance my CV further? Okay. Which engineering university do you want to go to? I want to go abroad. If you want to go abroad. Okay, in what did you do the eight internships you have done? I have done two internships in AI, in digital marketing, and the rest... Public communication from Dance. Mashallah, you have quite a diverse experience. And this is really a good thing that in case, God forbid, your engineering path doesn't work out, you have these backgrounds to fall back on. But based on your question about how you can pursue engineering, you haven't formally started your degree yet. Okay? So, the proper solution for this is that when you start your degree, right after two semesters, I would recommend that you properly pursue engineering. Okay? Just like students came to me from GK. You people know GK. They had an engineering degree. They also did AI/ML. But their university rejected their internship. For now, you were gaining experience or for any purpose. That's okay. But moving forward, after your second or third semester, in these four years, you must do internships in engineering firms. Because marketing is a bit irrelevant. AI/ML, yes, up to some extent, we can add it. But from now onwards, you must do it in engineering. In fact, if you still have time, I would recommend that you start working in an engineering company. Then your journey will continue in the same way. And, one more thing, that if I don't pursue engineering, or I have to do something else, and my A1 and A2 are not yet complete. So, I want to learn different skills. Like web development, I have some idea about graphic designing too. Like I just did my first job in 15 minutes because they don't hire unemployed people and young children so quickly. But I started working remotely. Then after that, I started doing internships, physically, non-paid, paid. So, I want to know if I should learn skills for now, or should I just focus on one particular thing? See, soft skills will go hand in hand. Soft skills are as compulsory as your degree. Because what will we do with that degree if your soft skills are not developed? So, moving forward, there are so many platforms online. I will share the links with you too. You can learn web development or anything related to AI that you want to learn, but keep this in mind what your main focus is. Okay? Because I also did MCom in 2012. But I realized then that this degree has no future value. After three years, I did MBA in HR. But now I have completely made that field obsolete. I don't touch it. Now, if I did MBA in HR and I am in HR, then I am doing HR-related courses. I am doing HR-related degrees. I am doing HR-related things. Because for now, this is a very good thing that you are doing so much at this stage. But moving forward, now focus on engineering. Meanwhile, keep developing your soft skills. Online courses are for two weeks, they don't make much difference. My question is, if your professional career is starting, then you won't have much to write on your CV. So, is it possible to still make your CV out? Yes, exactly. You will write limited things in it. You will not add any extraordinary things. Your degree, your name details, your entire part. Plus, in your degree, in which places have you done internships? That's it. If it's a one-page CV, a half-page CV, that's it. Because as a recruiter, I also know that this girl is fresh. She has also just graduated. So, how can I expect her to have a three-page CV and have done so much work? Just like she is saying now that I have done these things, or have built soft skills for myself. Mention all that. Also, if you attach your LinkedIn link, we check that first. You have to mention these things there too. There are many certifications on LinkedIn. For example, I myself have done HR certifications, AI certifications. So, it is very beneficial to see that, oh, this person has done so many things. Then we call. In the call, many things become clear, whether this person has more or less than what they have written. If you have written less and explained more, that will also play a very positive role for you. So, write limited things. Don't write extra. Writing extra will prove detrimental to yourself. Okay, ma'am, my question is, if there is a career break, how, just my background is MBA, I have seven years of experience in banking, and after that, I also have almost two and a half years of experience in the education sector. Okay. So, now if there has been a break due to marital life, how... Your name is Shazia. Okay, Shazia. These things are being supported a lot. Nobody asks about career breaks. Okay? If you are simply saying that you took a career break due to XYZ reasons, for any reason. Then companies usually support this thing, that if she has pursued her career even after marriage, then this is a good thing. Because nowadays, in tech companies, in non-tech companies, females are being empowered a lot. There are so many roles that are specifically created for females. Okay? It will take you some time to reach that stage, either one year, six months, but there will be a stage when your grip on those things will strengthen. So, you can simply write "career break" or your...
Do not mention the 2-year period. If you have worked in banking from 2022 to 2024. If you have worked in school from 24 to 26. After that, if you want to work in any bank from 27 onwards, that's completely okay. And I bet you no recruiter will ask you why you took a career break. And if you are saying that, well, this was my concern. Nobody will ask because these things are being supported and promoted a lot that females should come into this. Daycares have opened in many companies. They just want to facilitate women so that they can keep their children with them and work. Even in our own software house. So I just want that you will be going to share some things where we will be developing our skills better, like small skills you are talking about. Yes, I will share. I will share with Ahmed. Ahmed will do it for you. And apart from that, my advice is that you should give interviews in as many places as you can. I also suggest that because I am out of it for such a long time, so from around 2014 onwards, yes, I took a break after that. From 2014 till date, you are on break. Okay, your LinkedIn is there. You have put your relevant information in it. Like, if I am in HR, then HR-related jobs and part-time jobs come to me, and then I apply for them. You must have done that. Yes, yes, you must have done that. Okay. So whatever experience you people have. Either you are a software engineer. LinkedIn's algorithm is such that it automatically tells you those jobs. So go there. Apply there. My advice to you now is to get into any field somehow. If your communication skills are good, then come to the CSR side or the sales side. Once you get in somewhere, it becomes very easy for you to take steps. Can you directly contact you for? Yes, sure. If your communication is very good, I am currently hiring for CSRs. So, if you think that you can do that, especially in the night shift, then there is no harm. I can consider you. But once you are in the field, you know, you will get to know what is happening, what is going on, what kind of tech stack, what kind of people, how is the communication, what are they asking for, what is it? So once that is built, then it will become very easy for you. You should especially do it. I would recommend. Thank you. That question of yours is from a student, and when the network is good, and it's 10, everyone has it, and everyone has it. What can we put? What can we do to stand out? Very good question. This is actually personal branding. I know that at this stage, you would not have built that thing that I have built in 13 years. But your number one is communication skills. So much importance is given to this nowadays. Second, your attitude. They will ask you behavior-related questions. If you give positive answers, there is a good chance that your interview will lead you to a "yes." I myself ask behavior-related questions in my company. Like, if your manager misbehaves with you, or if you have a conflict with your manager, what will you do? People often ask. Oh, I will do this with him, I will do that. No, you have to remain positive even in that situation. This is actually the thing. They check what your mindset is today. Give me some water. So they are noting down how you give positive answers. How you replied to things or what you did. You can equally stand out in that. It's all about your attitude, how you carry your attitude. Someone from there, ma'am, I want to ask, where is the sound coming from? Just one minute. Ahmed, maybe a call from the office. Thank you. Just noting that either all the boys are employed, or they all have businesses. No one has any questions. If someone shows their willingness, the mic will come. Volunteers with the mic, please come to them. I don't think so now. Yes, this can happen. And they have presented countless options in front of you. And mostly, I guess, I myself, after intermediate, my first job was related to CSR. I worked in a call center at Ipex. Well, many females also have a concern that working in a call center and all that, and their families also don't have that kind of support, as there's a myth that they are not very good. So, you have already developed top service providers in business process outsourcing, like Ipex, TGS, TRG, they mentioned Abacus, and options like Mindbridge. So, go towards them. And you must have seen recently that many call centers have been newly developed. Truck dispatching is very popular nowadays. If anyone has a link to this field, then in your initial stage, this thing helps you a lot, that you have some CSR experience or you have a job in a call center. So, your capacity to listen to customer complaints. I'll tell you, early in the morning when I was at Jass, at exactly 7:00 AM, a customer would call the helpline, the triple one helpline of Jass, and just ask the time. Sir, what time is it? It's 7:00 AM. Thank you very much. And you have to wait in a long queue. And many people, as you can expect, many people are free. Like those in the villages or sitting around, just having fun, they call for any reason to chat with someone. Even when I started at Al-Khidmat, I came to Al-Khidmat's call center. So, here, two or three children of a donor of ours had their phones. So, the children were calling Al-Khidmat's helpline number daily and saying, "Who?" Okay, there's a rule in CSR that you cannot drop a call. If you are in customer care, you cannot drop the call until you have addressed the query. You get negative marking. So, you have to listen. I tried a lot to explain. "Son, you are like my mother. Let me talk to her, or what do you need?" He didn't understand anything. He was saying, "Who?" No matter what I said to him, he would say, "Who?" So, many things. Okay, I also have another thing in CSR. Well, many people say that in sales or similar things, you get a lot of abuses. And that's a reality. I never thought that I would get abused at Al-Khidmat, which is an NGO. Our CSR-related things are, obviously, our donors who are contributing, donating on a monthly basis. I have been abused by them too. So, it's not that you are from which field. In every field, no matter what background one has, they can face this. But your capacities build up very well. Communication builds up very well. So, if you are starting your career, then a call center or BPO services is a good option. Yes. Sorry, it was a call from my office. Okay, a very valid point came to my mind. So, I thought to share it, especially with girls. Nowadays, there are many scams and many strange scenarios happening in the market. So, before you join any company or get an interview call from anywhere, you should first check their Google reviews. People have given their original feedback there. Or if you have also faced something. Okay. Or if someone has ever scammed you or done something wrong, then I would recommend that you should definitely go and write it in their Google reviews because your act can save someone else. Regarding the hobbies point, I need discipline, I management. No, and I participated in the. Okay, you can mention that thing. But again, if you explain it in your interview, along with all the backstory, that would be more convenient for you and for the interviewer as well. So, this thing has become a bit obsolete nowadays that people just focus on the main thing, which is what your capabilities are. Next, computer, differentiate between CV and where. Okay, I think work is used interchangeably, and as far as I know, a CV is a detailed version of your academic background, whereas a resume consists of your experience portion in detail. Well, both are two names for the same thing. A resume also has your details, like when you completed your degree, when you had experience, what it was, what kind of work you did. A CV is also like that. The terms are different, but at the end, both mean the same thing. But usually, nowadays, people call it a resume. They ask for a resume. Some companies ask for a CV, but both are the same thing. Both have detailed information. You mention details in both at the end. You mentioned that nowadays software is more common. So, according to ETS, photographs are not compulsory. In fact, I would specifically say that if a company asks for it, don't give it. Firstly, there's the age factor nowadays. I told you, I'm telling you based on all my experience. If someone asks for your age, if someone asks for your picture, it's okay for boys, but if someone asks for a girl's picture or asks for age, you can directly reject that company. And you can then add these reviews on their Google reviews on the company site so that another female is saved. Because in the beginning, we are so passionate that we want to get a job. Because of that, we have many bad experiences. So, try to inform your parents, your family, before you go anywhere for an interview. Because females often face such scams and such incidents. So, research the company before you go. Go only if the company has a LinkedIn profile. If the company doesn't have a LinkedIn profile or Google profile, then don't go. And if they don't have one, ask them why they don't have a LinkedIn profile. Nowadays, every company, whether it's an ex-V, mid-level, or small-level, has a LinkedIn profile. So, why don't you have one? So, these things are very important. Whenever you are going for a job, don't just apply. First, research the company. Ask their HR, because they will also be a female at the end. Ask the employees in their company about the company culture. How much respect do females get in the company? What is the strength of females? How much are females empowered? So, this is basically the core thing that you should do before going anywhere. Don't just go anywhere. Don't let anyone send you anywhere. Make sure you research it thoroughly before going. This would be a very good thing. Assalamualaikum. Waalaikumsalam. Sorry. I am currently doing IT and I am in my fourth semester. So, I talked to seniors, and generally, in the semester, it's understood that the focus is mostly on the software development side or the Java side. My area is more towards data analysis or data science. So, should I focus on that currently, or related skills, and how should I optimize myself accordingly? First of all, it's not compulsory that if you have done CS, you have to become a software engineer or developer. You can become a business analyst. You can also go into business development. You can become a data scientist. You can also go into HR. For females, it's a highly recommended field to go into HR. So, if you have done tech, it would be good that you know the ins and outs of the position you are hiring for. So, it's not compulsory. You can come into sales. In our own company, many CS students are in business development. They get good commission. Salaries are also good. You can become a business analyst. You can become QA. Girls are very good at QA. Because of the bias factor, we hire females to be QA. So, it's not compulsory. You can mention what you are interested in on your LinkedIn. Having a CS background is a very powerful thing. There are multiple fields after that. You can do whatever you want in it. Sorry, exactly. Right now, whatever semester you are in, you should majorly focus on the skillset. The more powerful your skillset, but first, you have to identify where you want to go. Not at that time, like now my semester is over, now I'll become a business analyst. Okay, now a CS job is out, okay, I'll become that. Firstly, you have to identify in your mind that what exactly you want to be. That would be more focused. See, if you are a fresher. First, you would only write your degree, your projects, your internships. If you have done even two internships in your four-year tenure, that would be more than enough. Okay. Avoid unnecessary details. The more unnecessary details you add, I will see, "Oh, they have done just one internship and added so much." Then I will ask, "Okay, what did you do there?" Then you won't be able to tell. So, keep it simple. Your name, your email ID, that would be professional. Not devdasali@gmail.com. After that, your LinkedIn link. The LinkedIn link should also have your name. Not aksalman00781. No, you will edit it and write your name. After that, you will write your contact number, and you will mention that WhatsApp is also included because of signal issues. After that, your area, like Lahore. After that, your degree year of completion, 2017 to 2019. After that, your internships. Mention the learnings from the companies where you did them. Make five to six points: these were the learnings. That's it. As simple as possible, as one page as possible. Even when we send our clients our developers' CVs, we send limited ones. We don't send anything extra. Because if they ask and you don't know, then the impression that would have been created will also be ruined. So, make sure you create limited things and do not add extra things at all. My question is, where did the sound come from? Every year, they say scholarships come. Most postgraduates want to go with their bachelors. And if they go for a scholarship, then it's a dream. So, for this, throughout our bachelors, on which points should we focus more? At the end, bachelors are a conducive. [Music] Postgraduate scholarship. First of all, you have to understand this yourself. If you want to go abroad and your main goal is to go abroad and apply for something, because this is not something that you will think about after your degree is over. If you have done CS and if you want to go abroad for data engineering or AI/ML, then from day one, keep your skillset, your internships, and your focus on AI/ML so that when you submit your papers to apply to any university abroad, if your experience is even slightly lacking, the chances of rejection are very high. So, make sure you create your career path roadmap from day one. When I did my MBA, I knew that I have an extrovert personality. I wanted to do an MBA. I wanted to go into HR. My good fortune was that I came into tech. Tech has good salaries, good benefits. Females are very much empowered. Create a roadmap. Don't wait for your degree to finish. Whatever initial job you get, whether it's in BPO, call center, do it. No job is small or big. Any internship, paid, unpaid, whatever you get, do it. Your focus should just be on what you want to do. And I am so sorry that I have to leave in 20 minutes. So, there's a sudden meeting at my office. God willing, I will request Ahmed to organize such a session again so that we can consider the questions that are left. But I hope that many of your questions have already been answered. But ma'am, last question. Yes, yes, where did the sound come from? Okay. Please ask your question. Ma'am, I am in management, and my semester is complete. Looking for an internship, and basically, the difficulty I'm facing is how to get one. Because if I tried to apply to the university, their own criteria is that you complete your semester, then you will get some exposure, and then they will give it to you. But at this level, they consider you as if you have exposure and you are still a student, so you should get a little. This is totally wrong that you will only get experience after the sixth semester. That's absolutely not true. If you know the basics, the ABC of accounting, then go for it in the third or fourth semester. On the contrary, the more internships you do, the stronger your foundation will be. In fact, I would recommend that you start working. In a bank, if you get a very junior level or officer level job. Start working. Do your degree alongside, do your job alongside. So, there is no hard and fast rule that you have to do it only after the sixth semester, or it's a religious decree. No, whatever opportunity you get, go for it. No one will judge you for it. Done. You said that not just projects. You will mention your learnings and all of them. I will actually share my LinkedIn with Ahmed. You can go through it once. You will get a lot of ideas from it. Okay? Thank you. Assalamualaikum, ma'am. Okay. Yes. As you have covered many points before, it's best. So, I have done a lot of research on the CEOs of pharmaceutical industries. In their CVs, they mention that the format of a CEO's CV. So, basically, there are many things. Some are telling one thing, some are telling another. Which format should be followed? It covers many points. But besides that, do formats matter? Okay. I will actually share my own resume's format with Ahmed. He will share it with you in the group. Then you will get an idea of what I have put, what I haven't, what competencies I have put, and what I haven't. You will see it now. Okay? Ahmed, I have shared it with you. Thank you. Thank you so much. I hope the majority of your concerns are addressed now. And I will request Hassan bhai to please come on stage and introduce our guest speaker for today. Miss Hama Imran, I request you to please come on stage as well. Saif, you also come. Come, come. Applaud, everyone. [Applause] We have to listen to the photography talk. Om. [Music] Today. [Music] The heart is like [Music] the courage to stand firm, never [Music] tired, lighting the lamps of hope in hearts, together in the world. Thank you so much. I will request MS to please attest your assignments to me and I will share them with you. We have kept every session as a speaker session instead of a training session. So, they will also have their routine assignments. All of them will cover whatever activities you assign them. They are happening here in Lahore as well. We have over 23,000+ interns in Pakistan who are in our internship program, and around, I guess, 10,000+ interns are currently sustaining, who are with us in virtual mode and physically from Lahore. So, this is a number that is quite large for Pakistan. And the majority of them, because I asked them before, are on LinkedIn. That's surprising. I guess awareness has reached people to a great extent now. Obviously, when you need a job, you have to go to the relevant platform. If you want views, you have to go to Instagram, Facebook. If you need a job, you have to go to LinkedIn. So, that's something you guys are aware of right now. Uh, last, which I talked about at the start of the session. Here, I will request Saif bhai to please come on stage to present a small token of appreciation to our content creators. I will also request Hassan bhai to come on stage, and Miss Aqsa, please come on stage as well. Some children who have covered our internship orientation and sessions through reel content creation. So, we want to give them a small token of appreciation. Dream Orphan Age, whose page it is, please come forward. Let's clap for them. [Applause] [Music] All. [Music] [Music] The Grace Soul, I guess you are also present. Please tell me the names. Yes, please. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Visual Diaries by her. I guess you are also present today. Please come forward. [Applause] Courage in every heart. [Music] Brings light from darkness. [Music] [Music] Creates. Thank you so much. With this, we conclude today's session. And if you have any general queries regarding internships, we have 5 to 10 minutes for a Q&A session. I will request the team to please check the comments on YouTube live as well so that we can address the queries from this platform. Anyone still has queries? Countless queries have been repeated. I'll tell you a couple of interesting ones from yesterday too. Yes, sir. Unfortunately, I have. Well, you are following our WhatsApp channel. Yes, sir. All updates are available there. What assignment do you have to do? Obviously, you haven't done the visits, so you must have attended the orientation, and besides that, you have a project assignment. So, you just have to create a PDF of it and submit it. That's all. Tomorrow is the deadline. And for others who could not participate in Week 1, it's not an issue. I told you that since you need 35 marks, your participation every week is not necessary. Which of you people directly ask me queries on WhatsApp? Is there anyone? No one will admit it. That's a confirmed fact. Yes, yes, please. I have enrolled all my three children, but I enrolled my son with my email ID. So, now I'm going to see everything. My own heart is telling me that I should also register. Can I register with different email IDs? Yes, yes, absolutely. You can share your details. The report will also be shared. Yes, yes, yes, absolutely. All those things, the links, etc., are available. You can submit them there. God willing. Yes. Anyone else? YouTube, YouTube, kindly if anyone is watching, team member, please let me know. Yes, regarding assignments, some queries are about Week 2 assignments. Okay, we will compile these assignments and share them with you. Tomorrow is your Day 3. After tomorrow's sessions are calculated, God willing, by the end of tomorrow, you will get a document containing your three sessions, meaning the tasks for Week 2 for three days. So, you will have to do those assignments and create your report for Week 2 by attaching your proof of participation in the same way. So, this will be clarified. Also, for those who are participating virtually, specifically for Lahore entrants, there is absolutely no slot-wise system. Everyone's participation will be physical, and we will evaluate your grading based on your physical participation and visual comparison. So, I will clarify this as well. Virtual participants are also requested to participate as much as possible in the live sessions. Recorded sessions are an option for you if you miss it somehow. If you are busy every day, then there's a problem. We will track it. We have many software to check it. Don't worry. So, be a little worried about this. First, I was telling you not to worry. Now you have made me worry, so I will make you worry a little bit about your evaluation, participation, and attendance. Be a little punctual, a little serious. Even today, those who came a little late, please try to reach the venue prior to time so that we can start our session on time, and because we also have a large number of virtual participants. Any questions related to internship or general things? We are concluding, God willing. Have all of you submitted the report? Very good, Mashallah. Okay. Any other questions on YouTube? Okay. Does everyone know what our communication channel is? What is the method for submitting reports? All updates will be available on the WhatsApp channel, God willing. You will also get today's assignments. Thank you so much for participating. Allah Hafiz.
