God literally wants you to ignore your reality. I have been devouring the Bible every single day. This is the first time in my life that I've been reading this thing consistently. It's been about a month now, and the wisdom that I have been picking up is absolutely insane.
And I just read something recently that I wanted to share with you guys because it is one of the core principles that allowed me to reach this level that I have in my life, and I never realized that it came from the book in the first place. God is explicitly telling us to ignore our reality. And I'm going to tell you what it says right here in the book. It says, "Therefore, we are always confident and know that as long as we are home in the body, we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight."
Specifically that last part. "For we live by faith and not by sight." I know y'all have heard your grandma say this or your auntie say this. We walk by faith and not by sight. And even though I hadn't read the Bible before, this is a message that I have been preached to, whether through music or movies. It's just something that I had subconsciously heard before. And I've been thinking a lot about what that is supposed to mean.
I've seen a lot of people on YouTube making these videos talking about ignore your reality. I am begging you to ignore your reality. And it's actually a really good way to live your life. I think what the text is trying to say there and the lesson that I take from it is that a lot of times our present circumstances have simply not caught up to the life that we want to live. In that moment, you have two choices.
Option number one is you look at your life, and you become ashamed. You become sad. You become anxious. You worry. You're You're unhappy with your present circumstances, so you operate at a lower frequency, and you live your life stuck within the confines of that situation.
Option two is that hey, at this moment things might not be looking great. But you know that better days are on the horizon for yourself. So you walk by faith and not by sight. You don't let your present circumstances dictate the way you feel every single day. And I think that that is a big There's a big distinction between the emotionally successful people and the ones that are not and I think this is one of the biggest ones.
I'll be super transparent with you guys in saying that in the last month and a half to months, I have been going through one of I like to say I have been growing through one of the most challenging periods I've ever had as a business owner. I'm coming up on one year of launching my new company. It's an online academy where we help people build their own online stores. This is a passion of mine. If you guys know me from my main channel, you guys know I've been a teacher of e-commerce for about 10 years now. But this is the first time that I ever tried to build a real company around it. And it's freaking hard, bro. It's freaking hard. Not only that is it expensive. I got a big staff. I pay out almost $100,000 a month in payroll to my employees. So when things get shaky and when things get challenging it can be very easy for me to begin to live a life of fear and anxiety.
I'm in a position right now with this business in which if we have a slow month I lose a significant amount of money. And in those times is where you truly get to discover if you're a man. You get to truly discover if you can weather the storm. And before I started reading the word, before I started praying every single day, this is about 2 months ago, month and a half ago, this situation was eating me alive. Because I felt like I know that this thing is going to work. Everything I set my mind to, I accomplish. That's a deal that I have with myself. And even if I don't accomplish it, I learn from the lessons of the failure. I know that it's going to work, but it's not working right now. And 2 months ago, that was eating me alive. That was killing me. I was losing sleep. I was losing weight. I even got sick and I went to the hospital. I've haven't gone to the hospital in like 6 years. Like it was literally making me sick, all this fear, stress, and anxiety.
Then I started to read the word every day and I found phrases like this. I I I I I found, you know, the do not worry phrase that I shared with you guys in the last video. And I'm like, okay, wait. So, as long as I got God on my side, I don't need to worry. As long as I got God on my side, I know that and by the way, as long as I got God on my side and I'm doing the work. Cuz that's one thing a lot of y'all be leaving out. But as long as I got God on my side and I'm doing the work and I'm doing right by my team and my customers, I know things are going to work out. So, even though today it might not seem like it, I know that better things are coming. And I'm not going to let what I see with my eyes derail me from believing that. I think that's a tool from the enemy. I really do. I think that envy, comparison, jealousy, doubt, these are all tools from the enemy to pull us away from God. But as long as I got God, I know that things will be okay.
Now, I want to talk a little bit about what I just said because you can have the faith, but if you don't do the work, nothing will come out of it. So, you know, when when I say I walk by faith and not by sight, that doesn't mean I just got my eyes closed and I'm just like sitting here just like, "All right, God, give me a blessing. Come on, rain down on me." I stretch my hands like no, like that's not I don't know where it says it in the Bible. This is just another one of those things that I've been hearing throughout my life. It says, "Faith without works is dead." So, if you're not putting in the work, it doesn't matter how faithful you are, you're never going to be able to fully achieve what you want to achieve.
And the truth is I really think this is this is why that is cuz I don't think God would want to reward us for doing absolutely nothing. Like I I follow this man named Myron Golden. He's a He's really a mentor to me. I don't speak to him all the time, but that's like big bro. That's OG. And Myron Golden talks about how the best act for a human to do is to create because creation is the language of God. And I think that's really beautiful. And I think that's why God rewards those who create. I think that's why God rewards those who go out and do the work and do great at their job or they build products for the world or they create content online. The language of creation the language of God is creation. Somebody told me that before and it really stuck with me because I don't know about y'all, but the way I feel when I'm making my videos, even right now, it's beautiful here in Buenos Aires. I'm watching the sunset. I feel good. I'm going to tell you when I don't feel good is when I'm looking around at everybody else's success, comparing it to my current situation, and really living out here. Really just living out there. We got to go within.
Okay, we have to know that as long as we build that relationship with him, things will work out for us. So, I started this whole video by talking about this concept of ignoring your reality. And to my understanding, this is what God is literally telling us to do. The reality that you're living in today does not dictate the potential of your future.
In the beginning of my journey, if you guys saw the place that I started at, it would absolutely shock you how far I've been able to come. I used to live in a house with my mom, my stepdad, my sister, my little brother, and a dog. The house had two bedrooms. So, it's like, what we going to do? My mom didn't make more than $20,000 a year. I come from a family of hustlers, I like to say. Like my mom always had a little side thing, my dad had his own business, but I don't come from a successful family. Nobody in my family went to college. Nobody in my family ever came close to touching a mill. I mean, nobody even came close to being debt-free. Everybody in my family is overly in debt.
If I lived my whole life walking by sight and looking at my situation. Maybe I would say, "Oh, well, I'm just not born for this. I just simply don't have the opportunities like some of these other people that were born with a silver spoon." No. Instead, I had faith. I showed up every day. I did the work. And I trusted God. I used to always say trust the process. I'm going to start saying trust God.
The one thing that I learned is that like I've already been following all of No, not all. Don't gas yourself. I've already been following a lot of these biblical principles without even knowing that they came from the Bible. And then when I read them, it makes me very excited cuz I'm like, "Wait, this is this is the source, bro." All the self-help books that I've been reading, they just copy-paste, bro. They just copy and paste it from from the from the real book. You know what I'm saying?
So, ignore your reality, walk by faith and not by sight, and you'll be surprised what life has in store for you. You'll be surprised what God has in store for you. I love you guys. I'm rooting for all of you. Make sure to subscribe. Maybe we can get this channel to 100K subs this year. And let me know what else you guys want me to talk about. See you in the next one. See you in the next glitch.
