Okay, here's the thing. If you have a car payment right now and it's stressing you out every month, listen to this. This video is for you. I'm going to keep it real with you.
A lot of people right now are doing DoorDash, doing Uber, running around all over the place every day, chasing orders, still coming up short. Bills don't stop, car notes are still due, insurance is still due, groceries still need to be bought. Things in life keep happening whether you're ready or not. And that's a lot of pressure. A lot of times uh people go to bed with this on their mind, they wake up with it on their mind.
But here's what a lot of people don't understand. One contract, not five, not 10, one contract can take care of a real bill. One contract can create some breathing room. One contract can change how you move through the month and the money you have left over at the end of the month. Let me break it down for you.
Before I was retired, just trying to make some extra income, but it was inconsistent. Some weeks were good, some weeks weren't so good. And you can't plan like that. You can't breathe like that. Then here's where it really changed. I got a check for $2,400 from one contract. It took a few weeks to actually land that contract. I applied in March, didn't really hear anything back till May. I applied at several different medical courier companies. But once I got that first contract, it all changed. Everything changed. That's when it really started to click.
Being a medical courier, this is different. This is actually something real. That one contract covers my car payment, covers my car insurance. Right now I'm sitting in my Tesla. It's paid for by one contract. I use the same vehicle to run my route. This is not theory. I don't want you guys to think I'm flexing or anything like that because when I got into being coming a medical courier, I had no idea that this was even possible.
And so here's what really matters at this point. I'm not thinking about bills anymore. I've got some breathing room. I can go out if I want to take my wife out or anything like that, I can do that. I can take trips. I'm kind of living life without stress. And what people are really looking for right now is stability and control. And listen, right now I have a son. He's in his senior year. He's senior year. I don't know if you guys can remember back when you were senior, but a lot of things has changed since I was a senior. And there's a lot that comes with it. You got cap and gown. He's always hitting me up for some money. Always. There's always something happening. Dad, I need money for this. I need money for that. Just things that that you wouldn't even think of. But people are really looking for some some relief. And and people are really looking for some some stability. People are really hurting right now. There are a lot of jobs that are actually playing out. A lot of people are getting laid off, things like that all over the news. So this is becoming a medical courier, coming to people's attention more and more.
I've been doing this now for about 2 years. So this is not theory or anything like that. I actually run a medical courier route 5 days a week, sometimes six if I if I just actually feel like it. So let me walk you through what I actually do, what my day actually looks like. I run a a specimen route and I pick up at veterinary clinics. I pick samples up from there. As you guys probably know, pet care now is just going through the roof. A lot of people take really good care of their pets, so this is actually created a work in the medical courier space. I pick up the samples, I take them to the lab. I have 12 stops. Takes me about 2 hours. I pull up, go inside, I pick up the samples, I come back out. It's the same process. Onward to the next stop.
Now listen, a lot of people are thinking that this is difficult. It's really not difficult at all. To get started, you're going to need a HIPAA certification. That just basically deals with to make sure you know the importance of keeping patient medical records, the privacy, keeping their privacy. And then you're going to need a bloodborne pathogen certification. That's just making sure that you're properly trained on uh disease control and how to keep it and make sure you stay safe while you're doing deliveries. So if both of those uh certifications are real simple, it's and it's very inexpensive to get. I think it's maybe 30 bucks or something like that. You don't it's it's real easy. You don't need a CDL, you don't need experience. Uh you don't need a special vehicle. Don't go out and get a sprinter van or or anything like that. It's not as hard as people think. This is really actually the the route sheet that I actually have right here. Uh So let me break down for you guys how I actually get paid. Uh I get paid per stop and I also get paid mileage as well. So I get paid a certain amount for miles, I get paid a certain amount for the stop. And of course it varies by area, but this is what this pay actually looks like.
Well, here's where people get this all wrong. People stay stuck in gig work chasing daily money instead of actually uh getting contracts. And listen, there's no Once I as I said earlier, there's no experience needed. You don't need any special connections. It's not like based on like, "Okay, who do you know?" or anything like that.
Now here's where things even got gets better and it got better for me. Actually I got another contract. This is with a smaller carrier. So what I did is I started stacking contracts. So if you're saying, "Well, what is stacking contracts?" That's just where I took the contract that I had, the first contract that I had, and I started running an additional contract as well with a different carrier. Now I was making about $3,500 a month. It was the same concept, but this time I was actually going to hospitals, going to pharmacies, getting prescriptions, and delivering those prescriptions to patients. It was a different route, but it was the exact same concept.
This is what most people don't realize. You can repeat this process. This is why you see a lot of people saying or you may have experienced people saying, "I make $4,000. I make $5,000. I make $6,000." The reason why you can do that is because this is a repeatable process. You can actually scale your income. You don't have to stay stuck. This is one of the great things about becoming a medical courier. You're actually in control. If you really stop and think about it, if you have a job, you can't really go to your supervisor or whoever you work for and say, "Hey, I want to actually want a raise or I actually need to be off this coming Saturday or I've got a family trip that I want to take." It doesn't work that way. Listen, one contract can change things. Two contracts can change your income. It can change how you the your quality of life. Actually change how you live.
Now here's where it actually matters. And this is really important. This is spring. And right now medical courier companies are starting to figure out what they're going to need and the drivers they're going to need. And they're starting to actually plan this now. Uh more contracts are going to be opening. More people are going to be getting in now. So it's absolutely imperative that you start applying at these medical courier companies now. Don't wait too long. Make sure you follow up with these companies, these medical courier companies. Stay on their radar. You have to follow up every 2 or 3 days to make sure when they actually start hiring and they have uh drivers now that are taking vacations because it's the summer months, they've got new routes coming in and things like that and now they need additional drivers, you want to make sure that you're already on their radar. You don't want to wait. I can't really express the how important that is.
Listen, I know at some point this can be kind of challenging and it may seem like a daunting task, but it really is not. So what I did is I put together what I call a medical courier driver's guide. It's a very good It's a very good resource to have, especially if you're just starting and you're not kind of real sure what you should be doing or what steps to follow, that's why I put this together.
