What do Marilyn Monroe, Sabrina Carpenter, The Rock, and Adele all have in common? It's not just that they're famous. It's not just that they're attractive. And it's definitely not because they have some secret cheat code that the rest of us don't.

And yet, people are kind of obsessed with them all in their own way. Marilyn Monroe, she's just a straight-up icon, and decades later, we're still talking about her. Sabrina Carpenter recently dropped a best-selling album, just one at the Grammys, and at one point, you literally couldn't scroll TikTok without seeing her performances. The Rock, one of the most followed people on Instagram. And Adele, she can disappear for six years, come back with one song, and suddenly the whole world is belting her music again.

There is a psychological reason why we are so drawn to these people, and it's what makes them unforgettable. So, in today's video, we're going to talk about exactly what that is and how you can tap into it.

Hey friend, welcome back. If you're new here, my name's Jills, and I help women step into their power, tap into their divine feminine, and become their best self, their most magnetic self, live their dream life. So, if that's something you want to do, you should subscribe and stick around. And in case you want more from me besides just my YouTube videos, you can also check out my deep dive feminine energy course or any of my other digital products. They are always linked down below.

Okay, so what actually makes someone unforgettable? Why do certain people stick in your mind while others can kind of fade in the background? Why do some people get hooked to someone's energy, and some other people not so much? Think about the most iconic celebrities, movie characters, TV personalities that you can name. The ones that people can't stop talking about even years later. It's not just that they're talented. It's not just that they have a big personality. It's something deeper.

Let's go back to Marilyn Monroe because she was captivating for both men and women, and it wasn't just because she was beautiful. Yes, she had that old Hollywood glamour, but what really made people obsessed with her was the contrast in her energy. She had this soft, sweet, almost girl-next-door type of innocence, but yet at the same time, she was also seductive, she was confident, she was mysterious. And this is what made her so hard to look away from. She was never just one thing.

And you can literally see this contrast in the way she carries herself. One second, her voice is soft and airy and high-pitched. It made her seem delicate and sweet and innocent and soft. How many times have you crossed this is my uh don't you feel alone I just to door a conversation don't you? And then the next, it was slow, deliberate, sultry. I prefer a man who lives and gives expensive. One moment, she'd look at you with those big D eyes, she'd giggle, she'd tilt her head, she'd draw you in with her playful, innocent energy. But then you'd see her move her body with confidence and presence. She knew how to swing her hips, she knew how to let her presence linger. In movies, she'd play this dumb blonde, but you'd realize that she wasn't dumb at all. She was actually pretty smart, and she was always in control of what was going on.

And that's the thing. Marilyn's magnetism wasn't just about beauty. It was about the fact that she knew how to blend opposites in a way that made people addicted to her presence. Soft and strong, sweet and seductive, playful and confident, innocent and yet completely aware.

Now, how does this tie into someone like The Rock? Because let's be honest, he's about as far from Marilyn Monroe as you can get. He's this bald dude who's completely jacked. He was a pro wrestler, he's this big tough guy, he's in all these action movies. You see him jumping off of skyscrapers in movies. And yet, he has that same magnetic effect. People love him. He's one of the most followed people on Instagram, and brands literally throw millions of dollars to have him represent their company. It's because he's not just this tough guy. He also loves pancakes, he's funny and light-hearted, and he posts wholesome dad content. You think he's this big tough guy, but then you see his daughters putting makeup on his face and see him singing in Moana. What I say? Except it's that mix, that unexpected contrast, that makes him unforgettable.

Sabrina Carpenter, she's girly and feminine and looks like a little Polly Pocket, yet she's also sarcastic and witty and saucy and singing about not-so-subtle innuendos. And then there's Adele. She'll have you sobbing over lost love one moment, and the next, she's cracking jokes and swearing like a sailor. It's an absolute honor to be here today in full glam at 8:00 a.m. on a Thursday morning. She's elegant, dramatic, the queen of heartbreak anthems, yet she's also loud and hilarious and could absolutely have a side career in stand-up comedy. You spirit as if I've been on a Spirit flight. I that of experience.

All of these people have one thing in common: contrast. And that is what makes them unforgettable. And this isn't just some random coincidence. The media does this all the time on purpose to make certain characters unforgettable. If you've ever found yourself completely hooked on a character in a TV show or a movie, it's because they were designed that way. Producers and writers know that contrast keeps people obsessed.

Think about some of the most legendary TV and movie characters. Why do we love them? It's because they're never just one thing. They have layers to them. They have depth to them. There's something that keeps you hooked. Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, he is an iconic movie character, and he is this chaotic, drunken mess, yet also intelligent and always five steps ahead. This is the madness or brilliance. It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide. Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, always an icon, right? She's this blonde, bubbly, pink-wearing sorority girl. We see her in the beginning as this typical dumb blonde, yet she studies her butt off, she gets into Harvard, "What, like it's hard?" and outsmarts everyone in her class at the end of the day and solves the big case that no one else could. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. How did you know that Chatney was lying? Because she's brilliant, of course. And this contrast is why we love her. It's because she doesn't fit the mold of what we initially expect. Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, she's elegant, polished, always in control, but also ruthless when she needs to be. You need to be cold to be queen. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. She can be cold, calculating, completely cutthroat, yet at her core, she's the biggest romantic. Three words, eight letters, say it and I'm yours. She's loyal to the people she loves, but if you betray her, she will destroy you. She's both a queen and a dreamer, ruthless and deeply emotional. That contrast draws us to her and what makes her fascinating to watch.

These iconic characters are never just one thing. And there is a psychological reason why we as humans can't resist people with emotional contrast. And it all comes down to how our brains process information and emotions. So let's break down the science and psychology behind all this.

As we go about life, we are constantly receiving massive amounts of information and stimuli, and our brain has to act like a giant filter, sorting through all of this information every second. And this is all happening subconsciously. But to make it easier, though, we use shortcuts, and we tend to put people in these mental boxes: serious, kind, funny, shy, confident. But when someone doesn't fit neatly into a little box, our brain notices. We all of a sudden pay extra attention because they break the expected path.

This is why people with unexpected layers, like Blair Waldorf being both elegant and ruthless, or The Rock being both a tough, muscly action star and a wholesome, pancake-loving dad, stand out more than people who are just one thing. They break the pattern, and that makes our brains kind of wake up and pay attention. And when we wake up and experience something new or surprising or unpredictable, we release dopamine, that feel-good chemical that we all love. This means that people who keep us guessing and who show different sides to themselves naturally make us more engaged.

If someone is too predictable, our brain gets bored and kind of starts to tune them out a little bit. But if they surprise us, even in small, tiny ways, we can start to get hooked, or at least we notice. And that is why certain celebrities and TV characters are so addictive to watch. They constantly challenge our expectations, and our brain loves that.

And when someone has these contrasting traits, it almost creates this sort of mental puzzle that we want to solve. How can someone be both ultra-feminine and fiercely ambitious? Sweet and sharp? Innocent and seductive? Because it doesn't immediately make sense, our brain keeps thinking about them, making them unforgettable. This is why Marilyn Monroe wasn't just pretty. If she were just beautiful, then eventually she would be forgettable. But because she was both innocent and seductive, playful and mysterious, people couldn't stop trying to understand her. Our brains were hooked on that contrast.

And we all know that we naturally value things that are rare, and the same goes for people. Someone who blends contrast and has layers and has depth, they feel unique and therefore valuable. Angelina Jolie plays these fatal roles and looks totally intimidating, yet she's super nurturing. She's adopted multiple children and she devotes her life to humanitarian work. Princess Diana, a beautiful, soft-spoken royal, but who also did things her own way and wasn't afraid to break the rules. Keanu Reeves, I love this one. Why do so many people randomly love Keanu Reeves? Well, he's this action hero in all these movies, but at the same time, in real life, he takes the subway, he donates millions to charities, and he won't even touch a woman in a photograph so he can be a respectful king. In one moment, we watched this man take down an entire mafia because they killed his dog. But now, yeah, I'm thinking I'm back. And then in real life, he's just vibing and wholesome and being everyone's favorite introvert. There are plenty of nice guys and cool girls, but the people you remember have an edge. They feel unique, and they naturally embrace contrast.

Now that we know why contrast makes someone unforgettable, let's talk about how this plays out in romance and dating and love and relationships. Because whether we realize it or not, we are naturally romantically drawn to people who have emotional contrast too. This is why women are not very attracted to the nice guy, but love the gentleman. Similar, but different. The nice guy is always nice, always accommodating, and because he's nice and that's all there is, he's also passive, and he tends to lack that edge. The gentleman, on the other hand, is a protector, a provider. He can be tough and assertive when needed, but also opens the door for you and buys you flowers and loves to hold your hand and is nice. The nice guy is one-dimensional. The gentleman has depth to him. He has contrast, and we are drawn to that energy. It's interesting, right? A man who is confident but never cocky, kind but never a pushover, strong but still emotionally present. That contrast draws us in.

Like, imagine you meet this super tough, masculine guy. He has big muscles and he's 6'3" and he goes to the gym all the time, and he works in finance, and he drives a truck, and he loves sports. But also, you find out he rescued a Labrador Retriever from the pound named Lucy, and he takes her to the dog park every single day after work. Oh, and also, he cooks. All of a sudden, that man is intriguing. Once you add in that contrast, you're fascinated.

And the women that men tend to be the most enamored with also have that depth and that contrast to them too. For example, you're nice but not too nice, meaning you have kind, warm energy, but you also have a little bit of sass, a little bit of playfulness, an edge. You're soft but not passive. You can be nurturing and receptive, but you also still have your own thoughts, opinions, and boundaries. You're mysterious but also inviting. You let him in emotionally. You're not cold and aloof, but he also feels like there's always more to learn about you. You still have your own life and still do your own thing sometimes. You're feminine but also independent. You love receiving, you love having a partner, you love love, you love having him take care of you, but you don't need him to complete you. Contrast. And when you have this contrast, you are no longer predictable. You are no longer boring, and you will draw him in. The girl who's effortlessly kind and grounded but still sassy and playful. The girl who's sweet but never lets you walk all over her. You better believe that she will be noticed.

The truth is, is that depth is interesting. Having contrast and layers to you is interesting. We fall for people who keep us engaged, who make us feel something, and who aren't just one thing all the time.

So, with all that said, let's talk about how to tap into this energy yourself and become unforgettable. Now, I want to be abundantly clear. This is not about pretending to be someone you're not. This is not about pretending to be a little quirky so that he'll like you more. No. But here's the thing, many people try to fit into a single box because they feel like they have to, or they feel like it makes them more likable. But this actually makes you more forgettable.

The truth is, is that you are already multifaceted. You already have depth. You already have contrast. Every human being naturally has different sides to themselves, but most people suppress parts of themselves because it doesn't fit into this nice little neat, tidy box. So you don't have to create contrast or fake it. It's already there inside you. Think about it. You might be both deeply kind and incredibly sharp-witted. You might be naturally nurturing but also fiercely ambitious. For me, I'm naturally very feminine and soft in many ways, but also in other ways, I can very much be a tomboy. I love deep conversations and can be super introspective, but at the same time, I also love to laugh. I can be quick-witted and sarcastic, and I don't really see the point in doing life if you can't make things at least a little bit funny.

This was actually something that my husband told me once. He like, really got to know me. He was like, "You're very shy and quiet and soft, but also you have the most quote epic on-liners and you're secretly really funny." That contrast surprised him and made me more interesting to him, I think. Now, I'm not saying that I have this perfect magnetic energy, but what I do know is that embracing all the different parts of myself instead of suppressing parts of myself has made me feel more authentic, more confident, and has helped me be more captivating.

The problem is, is most people suppress one side of themselves because they think that they have to pick a lane. But the most unforgettable people, they don't choose. They embrace all of it, and they do so confidently. They just own it. "Oh, I want to be an elegant woman, so that means I can't do woodworking." "Oh, I love to be funny and make people laugh, so that means that I can't ever get serious and show real emotion." I just can't go there. A lot of people dim parts of their personality because they're afraid of being seen as inconsistent. But one day you might feel light and soft and playful and airy, and the other day you might feel serious and introspective. Both are valid, and both are part of what makes you unique. And the more that you try to stick to one version of yourself, the more you suppress your natural magnetism.

So instead of thinking, "What type of person should I be?" start asking, "What parts of me have I been holding back, and how can I embrace the natural contrast that's already within me?" Think about two qualities that seem opposite in you. How can you own both instead of suppressing one?

So, what I am trying to say is that we are all naturally multifaceted. We all naturally have contrast, but we suppress it. And you want to know one of my favorite ways to bring all of you to life and to be your most magnetic self? You do the inner work. Because when you do the inner work, you heal the stuff that's stopping you from owning 100% of all that you are. You let go of all of the insecurities holding you back. You stop filtering yourself to fit into this perfect box because you're so afraid of being wrong or being disliked. And if you like my channel for the feminine energy content, then you're going to appreciate this. This is all about just bringing your light and dark feminine energy to life. When you do the inner work to feel comfortable in both your light and dark feminine energy, that is when you just naturally, just naturally and effortlessly become a woman of contrast and intrigue.

That light feminine energy is your soft side, your nurturing side, your playful side. It's kind, it's warm, it's open, it's receptive. It loves beauty and aesthetics. That dark feminine energy is your saucy side, it's your mystery, your seduction, your confidence, your boundaries, your power, your edge. It's the part of you that is untamed. The most captivating women embrace both. And once you learn how to own all of the different parts of yourself confidently, you become unforgettable.

Now, if you want to take this even deeper and learn more specifically about light or dark feminine energy, this video is more about light feminine energy, and this video is all about dark feminine energy. So take your pick. Maybe watch both, but I think that they'll both be incredibly helpful. So I'll see you in one of these, or I'll just see you next time. Thank you so much for watching. Bye.
