Disclosure Day is an interesting movie in the sense that it is beyond different than so many other movies ever made before in its genre. And that's not because of its storyline, exceptional acting, or even the special effects. It's because of the purpose that it serves for this exact moment in time that we are in. And not to mention the final words spoken at the end of this film was really shocking to me and I believe brings everything into focus revealing a deeper message that will go over so many heads. Let's dive in.
I think a lot of people have this idea if aliens showed up tomorrow that would discredit everything Christians believe. What does this do to the fundamental beliefs that many of us have? And based on this movie script and character background choice, it's quite clear by the end of this movie that you realize it holds the framework to discredit Christianity. And we'll talk about why that may be. But also, I don't think a lot of people realize that the book of Revelation has already warned Christians of this exact thing happening. Aliens do not discredit the Bible. They further confirm it. That is why this movie does not shake the faith of Christians, but instead root the faith of those who have faith in nothing at all. And I believe Disclosure Day understands that because at its core, this movie isn't really asking the question, are aliens real? It's actually deeper than that. And it's asking the question, what happens when humanity places its faith somewhere else?
What's fascinating is that the main character of the film is not a scientist. She's not a military leader. She's not a politician. She's a former Catholic nun. Our main character, Jane, was preparing to devote her life to God before eventually walking away from taking her final vows after developing questions about God's divinity. Yet, despite her doubts, she still believes humanity needs God. And one of the central tensions in the film is her fear that revealing extraterrestrial life could cause humanity to abandon faith altogether and begin looking toward other worldly beings for answers. Just think about that. Why make that the central spiritual conflict of this story? Why frame the entire disclosure event through the eyes of someone wrestling with faith? Because this movie understands that disclosure is not merely a scientific question. It's a spiritual one. And I believe a seed is being planted throughout this film that Christianity and extraterrestrial life cannot both be true. But that is not the case. And it's a lie that is hidden in this movie. The existence of supernatural beings only confirms what scripture has been teaching all along. Christians have never believed that humanity is the only intelligence in existence. The Bible is full of spiritual beings. The real question is not whether something exists. The question is what is it and should it be trusted? The Bible already warns us that it can't be. But Disclosure Day removes that entirely. The extraterrestrials are not presented as dangerous. They're not hostile. They're not deceptive. They're not the enemy.
Which also points to an enormous shift that we watched happen with Hollywood when it comes to their portrayal of alien life. Early depictions taught us to fear them and that was easy to accept because unknown beings arriving from another world. Of course, naturally that is terrifying. But over time, things change. It turned into maybe they aren't dangerous. Maybe they're misunderstood. Maybe they're here to help. And perhaps no filmmaker has played a larger role in that shift than Steven Spielberg himself. ET planted a completely different seed than ever before. The alien wasn't the monster. In fact, the alien was the friend. And ever since then, Hollywood has spent decades moving audiences from fear to curiosity and to trust. Which is why I don't believe it's a coincidence that Spielberg is once again at the center of a story, asking humanity to embrace the unknown.
And it doesn't stop with the storytelling as always. And something we always press into is the music. Steven Spielberg and John Williams have worked together for over 50 years, more than 30 films together, including many of the most influential stories involving extraterrestrial life. Movies that have impacted generations, altering the way millions perceive this alien life. And just like the Bible also confirms, music is one of the most powerful spiritual tools ever created and is being used here on this earth in so many of the movies that you watch. Music bypasses reasoning. It makes you feel before you think. And Disclosure Day uses music exactly that way. If you look at the soundtrack for this film, the song titles that they went with for this film, it furthers the idea that the audience is continually invited to listen, believe, and have empathy for the unseen and the grand disclosure.
And something else that we can't seem to ignore because it's right in front of all of our faces is how much the story line coincides with what we are actually seeing in real life right now. I find that super interesting because we know that it doesn't take a week or a month to put together a film like this. What are the odds that this movie is just now hitting theaters alongside these UFO documents being released? Which I also can't help believe is all staged as usual. Everyone talk about the same thing at the same time. Whether intentional or not, you can't help but come to the conclusion that there is strings being pulled behind the scenes. So many people are just puppets, whether they realize it or not, being used for the grand stage.
And some more biblical hidden symbolism that you'll see in this movie. Again, if you're not a Christian, ask yourself what that has to do with this film. It has everything to do with this film because this is the agenda that's woven into it. You'll see an inversion of speaking in tongues. Just like we see the disciples in the New Testament given the gift to speak in other languages, this movie, ironically, carries the same framework. I can't get off.
Now, the last thing that stood out to me with this movie is the final word in the movie. Disclosure Day concludes with a global broadcast revealing the existence of extraterrestrials. The film ends on a cliffhanger as an alien whispers a message to Margaret Fairchild who speaks a single final word to the world, and that word is listen. I don't know about you, but I instantly thought about the verse that says faith comes by hearing. I believe this is the next step that the true faith in extraterrestrial life and communion will come by hearing them hearing their words. I personally believe this is the next step. I think that faith will come by hearing that once our government claims that they have contacted us, many will put their faith in extraterrestrial life and the existence of aliens. I personally believe this is coming. When and if that day comes, it will not shake my faith. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I shall not be greatly shaken. As for those who do not believe in Jesus, please know that both things can be true at the same time. Don't feed into the lie that this movie is preaching. The Bible warned us of what these froglike spirits are. They are the spirits and principalities that you cannot see. And they are coming to deceive the world. Will you be one of the ones that is deceived in that day? Or will you turn to the truth and the everlasting light of Jesus Christ before time runs out? God bless you guys. I love you.
