You are learning English words. Today you learned, and tomorrow you forgot. After a week, you look at a word and think: "I definitely learned this, but I don't remember it at all." If this is about you, watch the video until the end. I will show you 5 minutes a day that really stop words from being wasted. So, why do we forget words? I'll note an important point right away. You are not stupid, and you have a normal memory. We forget words not because we have bad memory, but because we learn them not the way the brain works. That is, we learn lists, cram translations, do not use words, do not return to them. And the brain thinks: "This is not important, delete." The main mistake. The biggest mistake is to learn a word as a pair. English equals Russian translation. For example, "тура" (tour) - "бежать" (to run). [music] But in life, "run" is to run, to work. For example, "engine runs." The engine works. To manage. "Run a business." To manage a business. To flow. "My nose is running." My nose is running. When the brain sees one word, one translation, it cannot integrate it into real speech. What to do instead? A word should be learned not as a translation, but as a piece of life. Remember this formula: word, situation, [music] emotion, short phrase. That is, learn not "forget," but "I forgot my keys again." This is what the brain remembers. And now, the very 5 minutes I talked about at the very beginning. Now the main 5 minutes that really change everything. So, step number one, 1 minute. Choose five words, no more, not 20, not 50, but only five. Step number two. 2 minutes. For each word, one short phrase from life. For example, "busy." [music] "I'm busy right now." "Hungry." "I'm hungry." "Ready?" [music] "I'm ready." "Late." "I'm late." "Free." "I'm free now." The phrases are simple, without complex grammar. Step number three. Another minute. Pronounce them aloud three times. Yes, aloud. Even if it's strange, even if you are alone. And the brain starts to work. Oh, this is speech. This is definitely important. Let's do it together now. So, the first phrase. "I'm busy right now." And repeat it three times. "I'm busy right now." "I'm busy right now." "I'm busy [music] right now." Second phrase. "I am hungry." "I'm hungry." "I'm hungry." So, do this with all five phrases. And the fourth, final step. Another minute. Close the list and say the phrase in English, then in Russian, or vice versa. And by the way, [music] this is active recall, the most powerful memory tool. Why does this work? Why do these 5 minutes work better than an hour of cramming? Because you use the word, you speak, not read, you remember, not recognize. You connect the word with life. The brain likes this format. How to make sure words don't disappear? Here's a little life hack for you. The next day, don't learn new words right away. First, allocate 2 minutes and repeat yesterday's phrases. 2 minutes, and the words stay. And if you want to stop forgetting words, to speak, not just to know, and to learn English like in life, subscribe to the channel. Here [music] English is simple and understandable.
