I found this very interesting. Check this out.
>> If you want proof that you can rewire your brain and that you are constantly creating your own reality, then play this game with yourself for the next 24 hours. It works by literally changing what your brain is allowed to notice. Your brain has a filtering system called the reticular activating system, also known as the RAS. We are bombarded with 11 million bits per second of sensory information. Here's what's wild. We can only consciously perceive 50 bits of that information. The rest, it gets deleted. So, the question is, what gets kept for you? Whatever you were taught to look for starting from the moment you were born. You've experienced this. You know when you're thinking about buying a certain car and then suddenly you see it everywhere? That's your RAS. The cars, all of a sudden, started appearing. But that's the thing. They were always there. You just primed the filter to notice.
So, here's the game. Right now, say out loud, "Brain, show me proof that things can get easier." That's the whole instruction. But here are the rules because for the next 24 hours, you're collecting at least 10 pieces of evidence. They have to be small because small is the whole damn point. It can be a green light when you're running late, someone holding a door open for you, an email that just sorted itself out. Every time it happens, just notice. Evidence. I always like to go, "Oh, evidence. See that, brain?" But all you have to say is evidence because that noticing is the mechanism. You're having so much more than just a nice moment. You're now literally building new neural pathways, proving to your nervous system through lived experience that safety's available, love's available, whatever it is you're trying to prime. That's what I mean when I say you can't think your way out of a pattern. You have to change what you're collecting evidence for. And if what you've been collecting evidence for without realizing it is that maybe your people-pleasing, your overworking, your caretaking, your avoidance pattern is permanent, that you can't change, that's exactly what we're dismantling in Break the Pattern. >>
This is so beautifully explained. Let me know what you think about this in the comments section, guys.
