Which Myers Briggs are the Narcissists?

Personality Guy10:04

So, a while back, I did a video on which personality types you feel are narcissistic. The ones that have those narcissistic tendencies, the kinds that are very controlling, blamy, "you're always in the wrong, I'm always in the right" kind of thing. They will never say "I'm sorry." There is no need for apologizing. There is no need for your feelings. When I asked you who you felt was the most, you know, like that, I got a few different answers, but there were four personality types that were the most common.

So let's start off with the one that was most common, which was the ESTJs. Now, I'm very careful with ESTJs on my channel because they are the very laticious kind. They are literally the attorneys, the lawyers, so to say anything negative about them is to provoke what they do best, and that's finding all the things about you, and they come after you. But here's the loophole: I can talk generally about how I feel and about what you guys have said about personality types, and even if they relate to that particular stereotype, it doesn't mean anything but my own opinion. So that's an American thing of freedom of speech, so as far as we have it. And I will be happy to explain why the ESTJs get thrown under the bus, the narcissistic bus, when it comes to that. Don't forget, there are three other types that we can chat about afterwards, which I thought was kind of shocking. ENTP being one of those, ENTJs being the second most common, and then, of course, the ESTPs. All of them being extroverts, all of them being thinker types. Fascinating, isn't it? So I'm happy to share my opinion as to why and share some of your opinions as to why you guys voted for these four in specifics. So let's, let's, let's find out why.

Now, just a caveat, I know one really good ESTJ who is a great leader, a great teacher, as patient as you can be, uh, as an ESTJ, and make sure that you understand it. But you have to keep coming back to him to make sure that you understand it. He's not going to follow up with you and checking on how you're feeling and how you're doing. He will definitely share his opinion. And if you speak, he will wait for you to stop talking. Are you done? Then he continues with what he was saying, even if you interrupted him or not. And if you don't understand him, he gets frustrated. That's that J factor with the T being thinker style, sharp as crap. That's the S function mixed with the ES part of it, 'cause they're SE critics. There's a, there's every single one of those on the way down their stack. TE dominance mixed with SI, the duty to be efficient. They'll consider everything and bring it together playfully. That's where they get this like playful side. They think they're very charming and funny, but they're so intimidating that their humor gets overruled by their intensity. They can be funny. I've laughed from many an ESTJ joke. They're usually poked at the idea that somebody is wrong, somebody is doing something stupid, and they make fun of that. They'll poke at that because ESTJs are one of the top of the food chain as far as personalities go. They're usually in some form of power or in an indirect form of power. Take the attorney position, for example. They're not necessarily the one there, but they're the ones that gain control, the power, as far as the particular situations go for attorney work. Either way, they're usually putting themselves in a position to always win. So like an attorney who didn't win, for example, they still won because you had to pay them. It, it, it's very, I think their spirit animal is a scorpion. Remember, not all scorpions are poisonous. So when they do bite, the really healthy ones, the good ones, it is to help you. And that's where I'm, that's where I'm going to start defending the ESTJ. Though I am personally terrified and have been traumatized by a handful of them, I will say that most people have told me that they are as well, which is why I did not find that shocking at all to find the ESTJ to be the top of the narcissistic list. But I don't think that they're really that narcissistic when it comes to that question, that poll. ESTJs just come across that way, which can be fantastic if they're on your side. You want an ESTJ friend, somebody on your side. But you need to keep them as a feeler type at a respectable distance because to them, Fe, your feelings are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, eight layers shoved the crap down. They do not have Fe as something that brings them pleasure. Your feelings, your happiness, your whatever, as a human, you can share happiness, you know, happy Christmas, happy holiday, everything's all right. But your feelings are, are have no effect. What they find enjoyment of are the top four functions. Remember that. Fe, extroverted feeling, your feelings is E. It's eight layers down. So that's why people think they're narcissists. But ESTJs by standard is not narcissistic. They just have cognitive functions that are sharp, scorpion-like. Scorpions can be great. Scorpions have functions on this planet. In fact, I just had to look up the purpose of a scorpion in society, which I found to be, you know, is backhanded compliment style. Sure, but it's, it's, it's fascinating. Check this out. Scorpion venom can be used for medicinal purposes, meaning like their advice, their help may hurt because they just cut corners. They'll slap you right in the face and tell you how it is, which I like. I don't want somebody fluffing me up. Though, though it hurts, their venom is helpful, right? You can take their words and quote them and put, put it on the wall, put it on a plaque, and they can be very quotable. The next one on the Google list here says that they could be food for certain animals. I don't, I don't find that useful. I mean, the only person on top of the food chain above an ESTJ may be an NJ, maybe ESTP, these other any of the other four, but unlikely. Don't forget scorpions have both pincers and a stinger. Even if you think you won, you tied down their claws, even if you think you pinned down their pincers, they, they still have a massive stinger behind them. The only other positive that I'm seeing, somebody please help, is that they eat small animals and insects. Yeah, they're top of the food chain. I'm trying to defend the ESTJs right now, though. They'll never say they're not. They want to be defended. That's the immediate thing that's going to come to their mind. I don't need to be defended. They'll attack. I'm trying to defend the ESTJ in general, but, uh, the Google research here that I'm looking at is not helping. It also says that only 25 out of the 1500 scorpion species are deadly to humans. And I think that's a good ratio. You know, if you meet an ESTJ, there is a 25 out of a 1500 chance that ESTJ is actually going to be dangerous. And according to my calculations, that's a 1 in 60. So one out of every 60 ESTJs that you meet will probably come after you. Gosh, that is scary. But you know what? They're awesome to have as a friend. Just keep them as friends. In fact, I know a lot of you are going to be like, "Oh, I've been married to one for so long, and they're absolutely fantastic." I also find it fascinating when INFP defends an ESTJ. A lot of INFPs have ESTJ parents. Like, go figure. What, what the heck?

All right, let's jump to the other three, 'cause I mentioned the ENTP, ENTJ, and of course, the ESTP. But you, you get why the ESTJs were the most out of the votes. They're also, they usually have a rough life, okay? Give them freaking credit. But we're not even all right. I've hugged one before. I haven't made one cry. Wait a minute. That was a dream. Sorry, I was the one crying. Okay, ENTJs. Let's just jump at it. A lot of people think that Donald Trump is an ENTJ. Some people think ESTP. Feel free to throw in your thoughts on that. Uh, just because he's good at sales doesn't mean ENTJs aren't great at sales. That was somebody's argument on one of my videos. ESTPs are going to be smoozy, very good at getting their way because they're pokey. They, they poke you. I think second place on the list would be ESTPs. So the EST types are very, uh, yeah, again, to recap the narcissistic topic that we're aiming for. ESTJs, I don't think are narcissists by nature. ESTPs have the highest proclivity to be so, according to my vote. An ESTP is most likely to be. Now, I know a few that are healthy. I know one that is very good for an example of a narcissist. And again, you can counterbalance that and say he's not being narcissist, he's just being controlling with, you know, certain things. Sure, okay. But as soon as I put a water bottle on top of my car to get something out of it, he immediately took it off and said, "Don't you dare scratch the paint." That's not even a narcissistic thing. That's just an example of he was being kidding, but he wasn't being kidding. Bragging about how many he has, women, and so on and so forth. "Hey, pick anybody out, I'll get their number." Uh, bragging about how many hearts you can break, how many people you have may or may not have screwed over in your lifetime, things like that border on the narcissistic side. Then again, I dig. ENTP is their style of narcissism would probably be more on the "I know everything" side. I know one who just waits for you to stop talking so that he can recite everything that he has memorized. He knows anything and everything as far as whatever you'll say. He has 17 quotes because he loves having things memorized. Bragging about your memory is an interesting thing, especially when you're SI aspirational, 'cause ENTPs are typically on the sloppy side. Then again, if you tickle that fourth function that brings you the most pleasure, so an ENTP who has so many things memorized and organized is a dangerous person, bordering on the narcissistic side, especially when they never apologize or let you speak. So I don't think that's narcissistic, really. That's just being an ENTP in some cases. But there are some fantastic ENTPs out there. They don't use their abilities for that kind of bulldoze effect. Last on the list would be ENTJ. Touched on that just a little bit, but that's just in their nature to have power. It's in their nature to step on you. Arnold Schwarzenegger, ENTJ. Donald Trump, I think ENTJ. Some people think Elon Musk is ENTJ. I think INTP, but whatever. What do you think? Who is who and why? And which personality, again, do you feel is the most narcissistic? Just by nature, or really, are these just human beings that are traumatized into some way of trying to function, trying to gain control? Do you really think people are beyond help? A lot of narcissists, of course, don't want that help, right? Saying the word therapy pisses me off. I'm sorry for the rant. And yes, I'm apologizing if I fed anybody too.
