Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination and when he's tall he's what we call a dinosaur sensation. Barney's friends are big and small. They come from lots of places. After school, they meet to play and sing with happy faces.
Barney shows us lots of things, like how to play pretend, ABCs and 1 2 3, and how to be a friend. Barney comes to play with us whenever we may need him. Barney can be your friend too, if you just make him him.
Everything is really growing. You were just seed a few days ago and now your little plants. Wow, I guess putting you in the window box really helped you get the sunshine you needed to grow. But you could use a little water. Here you go.
What makes a flower so pretty? How does it cheer up your day? I think a flower is most beautiful when it is given away. There you go. Whoop! That feels good.
Barney: Hi Kim!
Kim: My beautiful flowers! Thanks, Barney. They were just seeds when I first planted them, but with sunshine and water, they really grown well. These are some of the prettiest flowers I've seen.

Kim: Bright, happy colors of yellow and green, purple and blue, red and white too. The prettiest colors that I've ever seen. I want to share them with you.

Kim: Pansies and Mar fresh in the air, daisies and Blom sunflowers too. I've never smelled anything El so fair. Each flower is special, like you. Like you.

Jill: Oh, what have you got there?
Barney: Jill!
Jill: Oh, these are my sweet pea plants. We've been learning about plants in school. My teacher said plants grow from seeds.
Barney: That's right, Steven. When a seed is given sunshine, water, and fresh air, it sprouts into a little plant called seedling. Even the tallest tree or the tiniest flower begins as a seed.
Jill: And it looks like you did a good job taking care of your seeds, Jill.
Barney: Thanks, Barney. First, I planted them in dirt. Then I water them every day.
Barney: Hmm, the dirt feels a little dry. I think they need a drink of water. When I water my plants, I use a watering can like this. It makes the water come out like a little rain shower.
Jill: Oh, rain showers are especially good for flowers and dreams. And you know what? They're even good for you and me.

Kink Kink Kink kop Klink kop Klink kop Klink kop. For the flowers and the trees and the fishes in the seas. The raindrops drop all all around, helping rivers flow and your garden grow. As they fall from the sky to the ground. When the rain goes crop, all the animals stop at a pool for a nice cool drink. They are just like you. They get thirsty too. But you get your water from a sink. And the rain can make a pudle so the birds can Splash all around, taking a bath and chirping away, singing happily to the raindrops when they make this sound. Kink kop Klink kop Klink kop Klink kop. When the Sun goes away and the clouds turn gray and the ranker PLS in your ey. If it makes you sad, you will soon be glad. Look down and you'll see a fun surprise. For the rain can make a pudle so the birds can Splash all around, taking a bath and tripping away, singing happily to the rain drops when they make this sopop. In those puddles I love to hop. I don't care if it never stops. How we love the raindrops!
Jill: These plants love the rain and they love Sunshine too. When I put them on the window seal, they really started growing.
Barney: That's because plants use the warmth and the light from the sun to help them grow. Some plants eat a lot of sunshine and some need just a little.
Jill: That's right, Steven. I have a plant in my room that doesn't need very much light. I have to make sure the sun doesn't shine right on it.
Kim: Well, my flowers like lots of sun. That's why I put them in the window box so that they can get plenty of sunshine.
Barney: Is there enough room for my plants too?
Kim: Sure, I'll help you find a place for them.
Barney: Thanks, Kim.
Kim: You're welcome. Your plants are going to love soaking up all the Sun that shines in here.

Barney: You know, I thought these seeds were never going to sprout.
Kim: I know what you mean. I waited a long time for these flowers to bloom. Sometimes it's hard to wait for something wonderful to happen, but it's usually worth it. Aha!
Barney: Every day I checked to see if they had enough water and sunshine and the last time I checked, they had sprouted. And with the right care, all plants will grow strong and healthy.
Jill: My mom said they grow almost as fast as I do.
Barney: Right, just like these plants. You're growing bigger every day.
Growing, growing, growing. We do it every day. We're growing when we're sleeping and even when we play. And as we grow a little older, we can do more things. Because I'm growing and so are you. Each we grow a little taller, a little bigger, not smaller. And we grow a little friendlier too. We try to be a little nicer as we grow each day. Because I'm growing and so are you. Growing and growing and growing. Growing, growing, growing. We do it every day. We're growing when we're sleeping and even when we play. And as we grow a little older, we can do more things. Barney: Wow, the school garden looks great.
Mr Boyd: Well, thank you, Kim. Steven and Danny have been helping me take care of it.
Barney: Sure have. What are you well? Right here are the peas, the carrots, and the corn. And here's the lettuce. And there are the tomatoes.
Danny: Wo! Look at this tomato!
Mr Boyd: Yes, I'm Growing that for the contest at the county fair.
Barney: Oh boy, oh boy, that should take the Blue Ribbon.
Mr Boyd: I hope so. It would be my third one. Oh, oh, by the look of all this, I'd say you're still pandis gardeners.
Kim: A lot, Barney. They've been a big help.
Barney: Barney, but there's always work to do in a garden.
Mr Boyd: Well, we'd be happy to help you keep this garden growing. Here we go.

Barney: Oh, good job, everybody. It's SM right. Think you want that green Thum.
Kim: You know, carrots are my favorite vegetable.
Steven: I like beans the best.
Jill: I hope my plants grow like these. And look at the lettuce. It looks just like the kind my mom buys at the grocery store.
Barney: Do you know what the best part of having a garden with vegetables is?
Kim: No, what?
Barney: Gathering all the vegetables and then eating them.
Kim: Are you hungry, Barney?
Barney: Well, maybe just a little bit. You know, this corn makes some very tasty popcorn.
Kim: Really? How?
Barney: Well, after the corn has been harvested and dried, then it's ready for popping. Yummy! Thanks for all your help in the garden. In fact, that reminds me, I brought you a surprise from home. I'll just go and get it.
Kim: I see in a minute.
Barney: Okay, see you soon.
Jill: I wish we could have some popcorn right now.
Steven: Yeah, popcorn sounds good.
Barney: Well, maybe if we look in the classroom. Boy, you never know what you might find.

Barney: I thought you said we were going get some popcorn.
Kim: Well, I see you've got some pretty dirty hands.
Barney: Yeah, gu. Well, first you need a little soap and water to wash those hands squeaky clean.

Yum, it smells good. I know that smell. That has to be popcorn. Well, if it's sounds like popcorn and smells like popcorn, then it must be popcorn, right? Yum! Oh, you can hear it. You can see it. You can smell it. You can eat it. You can hear it, see it, smell it, eat it, touch it, crunch it, taste it, munch it. Popcorn is really neat. Fun to make and fun to eat. Popcorn is a pop, pop show kind of treat. Doesn't it smell delicious? The corn starts little, then it pops to a popping popcorn beet. Fills the popper to the top, and then it's it's time to eat. Jill: I wish I had a garden at my house. But there's not a place big enough for a garden like that.
Barney: Well, maybe not one as big as that one. But just take a look around. There are lots of different Gardens growing right here.
Jill: Oh, I know what we can do. We can make little gardens to take home.
Barney: Oh, that's a great idea, Kim. A take-home garden. Do we have everything we need?
Kim: We have dirt, we have seeds and seedlings, and lots of different containers to plant them in.
Barney: All right, then let's get started. We got enough dirt. We use some of the seeds. And this is so much fun. You look like very good gardeners.
Kim: Thanks a lot. So you're putting your plants in little cups. I see. Push them in right there and make sure you can't see any seed. So the seeds disappear for a while, but they soon Sprout up, don't they?
Jill: We're making Garden markers.
Barney: Oh, so you could tell which plants are which. M.
Jill: Oh, so you're taking different plants and putting them all together in your own little gardens.
Barney: Yeah, we sure are.

Barney: Oh, you've all done a great job letting your Gardens. Thanks. Come on, let's go show Mr boy.
Jill: That's a great idea. I bet he love them. My, those are some great looking Gardens.
Mr Boyd: Oh, thank you. These are our take-home gardens. See, I planted some carrots and pretty soon I should have some bean sprouts.
Barney: Well, just remember to water them and give them plenty of sunshine.
Jill: That's just what we came out here to do. Good. Oh, and here's the surprise I brought you.
Mr Boyd: Thank you, Mr boy. These apples look super delicious. I picked these off my apple tree this morning. I even washed and cut some for you to eat right now. I hope you enjoy them. Please take some home to share with your families.
Barney: Nice. Well, I've got to get back to work now. So, uh, goodbye.

Barney: Look at all the seats in this apple. If I planted them, would they grow into apple trees?
Kim: Oh, sure they would. In fact, trees grow from all kinds of seeds and give us many wonderful things.

Barney: You know, some of my best friends are dream scooters.
Kim: Right. Trees make treemendous friends.

Kim: Yeah, like food to eat and homes for birds and other animals and shade on a hot sunny day.
Barney: That's right. And since trees and plants do so much to care for us, it's important that we take care of them. Will you help protect the Earth and keep it clean?

Jill: Maybe my garden will grow to be as big as this one.
Barney: Maybe so, Steven. All it takes is a little tender loving care.

Hey, everybody! It's time for Barney. Barney says hello again to all my friends. I'm glad you came to play. Our fun and learning never end. Here's what we did today. We had lots of fun taking care of our Gardens. We learned that plants need water and a lot of sunshine to grow big and strong. Mr Boyd told us that growing a vegetable garden takes lots of work, but with lots of tender loving care, a vegetable garden could grow just about anything, like carrots, lettuce, and maybe even a prize-winning tomato. You can grow corn to make one of my favorite snacks, popcorn. Growing a garden can be fun. And remember, I love you. Later on, when Bob the Builder's on the job, you know it's going to be done right.
