When we have a lack of major hard aspects in a chart, it is going to result in a type of personality. When we have a lack of conjunctions, we are dealing with unintegrated factors within oneself that leads to a type of dispersed personality. So, the personal mythologies are not cohesive. So, it's like a book where you get to a certain place and then have to choose from several different plots and outcomes, and what happens really depends on the page that you choose next. So, we may also not need others as much when we have a lack of conjunctions because the characters inside of ourselves are not closely aligned. So, an independence can be the result, and then we're often needing to bring our inner voices into chorus, or at least a harmony, so that we can link with others in an appropriately dependent way. The isolation between the personal mythologies can result in actual isolation. So, we need to consciously blend our inner narratives. We need to integrate these ways in which we believe about the world and see the world, and then view these stories as supportive.
When we have a lack of squares, there is a lack of perceived friction between us and the environment, other people, and the world. This lack of friction, this tension with external forces, causes one to have to accept accountability for the type of forms that they build in the world, how they use their energy to create, and how they meet their goals. There is no outside pressure that causes a reaction that leads to growth, or pushback, or increased knowledge, or success. So, we're not driven to solve something that causes us great tension or strife, and so we have to provide the gas for getting there by being completely conscious. There's going to be extended periods of trying, of working toward what we want, that is going to be required. We are not used to applying ourselves steadily without squares, so our muscles that allow us to build things, to create things, they have to be consciously brought into shape. There isn't this constant strain that produces muscle, so sustained effort will lead to success. The lack of tension that comes from lacking squares, it can result in finding little meaning in what we do. Meaning really comes from understanding that life holds the meaning that we give it. Meaning is not imposed from the outside, so we decide what is worth having, and what is worth working for, what is worth striving for. We have to take real conscious responsibility for that, and then going after these things really impregnates one's life with meaning.
Lack of oppositions, so there is no outside path toward realizations about oneself. When we lack oppositions, one is going to be solely responsible for how they integrate themselves with others. Balance has to be achieved through consciously understanding how one side affects the other, and then controlling one's own output to experience satisfying relationships. One's completeness really depends on their willingness to accept their own part in the play of duality, you versus me, you and me. And there won't be anyone to force that realization. There will be no confrontation that results in integrating our own selves with another because we see how we are reacting to them and then begin to act instead. There won't be any tension that causes that. So, we have a lot of conscious control of how we will develop when we lack oppositions, and this can lead us to either self-realization, there consciously understanding ourselves and others, or disintegration because we're not driven to solve problems that seem external to us and then result in a self-awareness as we solve those problems.
When we're lacking in conjunctions, this is really common for charts to lack in conjunctions, so it doesn't really show up as such a problem with balance or roundedness in the personality.
Lack of planets in earth signs, stability, focus, stoutness, anchored activity, this is what's going to be challenged by a lack of psychological need for these things. We're developing the capacity and the grit to take responsibility for consequences, so sustained action leads to self-support, and we can often be given to a lack of practicality if we are lacking planets in earth signs.
Lack of planets in air signs, it's the flexibility that's going to be missing. The air has something unpredictable about it. Air signs are adaptable and versatile. The psychological need for adaptation is not driving development, so we need to apply ourselves to develop some fairy wings, and these wings can help us zoom through life in a more ambidextrous fashion and handle the demands of multitasking.
Lack of planets in water signs, the depth is challenged. It's much like a water bug that uses the surface tension of the water to float. They never sink because they're light, they're above it. Water molecules are more attracted to themselves and other types of molecules, so they stick together, and through through this tension, feelings are heavy. Water signs are feeling signs. Feelings are attracted to other feelings, so they stick together, resulting in this sea of connected feeling, and we can't seem to penetrate the surface tension of this sea of feeling. And so, we need to develop depth if you're consciously immersing oneself in depth.
Lack of planets in fire signs, the natural expression is going to be challenged. There's no personal psychological need to develop avenues of unique self-expression, so we can see an automaton type of personality. The vitality is also frequently very low. A lust for life needs to be consciously discovered. Fire is the result of an ignition preceded by combustion. Our energy starts the reaction, the causes combustion that then results in fire. It ignites, and fire, once the energy starts the reaction, it will continue to burn until it runs out of fuel. So, we're learning to develop our uniqueness that starts a reaction that really results in that ability to shine.
Lack of mode, lack of cardinal signs, the meaning of life or self-realization is not going to be sought through exerting conscious control over one's people or one's environment. There's not a personal stake in things. There's more of going along with the biosphere rather than wanting to challenge that. There's not a need to lead others into something different. The following of an ideal is not as likely because we're not driven to use that as fuel for change or seeing something other than it is that leads us to want to change. One's vision is generally not the reason for acting, and we don't attach our identities or purpose to our ideals when lacking cardinal mode.
Lack of fixed signs, the framework for life experiences is often missing. The meaning of things, the deep results of life experiences that can be lost if the structure of how we experience those meanings is not natural in our personality. We may feel the results of what we go through, those results are not digging in and really causing or resulting in what we really want to materialize. So, we can lack order within ourselves that brings tangible results. There is great openness to new experiences and forms of expression. We are very flexible when lacking fixed signs.
Lack of planets in mutable signs, a natural merging with others and employing faith is going to be lacking. There's no pull toward unity, so this can lead to great individuality but a challenge with cooperation. We're going to seek to go it alone, that's going to seem natural to us. Attaining something through others, or through love, or spirituality, is not of importance. The personality is going to be largely missing this need to affiliate, so the personality really does not vary depending on what occurs within relationships and can largely go through life uninterrupted.
