Ephesians 1:3 says, "God has blessed you." Past tense, with every spiritual blessing. So, why are you still asking him to bless you? You're praying from the wrong position. This one shift will unlock everything you've been begging for.
Listen to me carefully. There is a prayer most Christians pray every single day of their lives. A prayer they were taught was humble, was right, was the very posture of dependence on God. And that prayer is keeping them locked outside the storehouse while they own the key.
That prayer is this: "God, please bless me. Bless my finances. Bless my family. Bless my health. Bless my work." It sounds spiritual. It sounds reverent. But beloved, it is a denial of what has already been done. You are praying as though the blessing is still in heaven, waiting to descend. You are praying as though God is holding something back, as though the transaction has not yet occurred.
But Ephesians chapter 1 verse 3 does not say, "God will bless you." It does not say he might bless you if you pray hard enough, if you fast long enough, if you cry loud enough. It says he has blessed you. Past tense. Completed action. Finished work.
Before you ever asked, before you ever knew you needed it, before the foundation of the world, God looked at you in Christ and declared, "You are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places." Every spiritual blessing. Not some, not a few, not the ones you have earned or the ones you deserve. Every single one: health, provision, wisdom, peace, favor, authority, protection, identity, sonship—all of it loaded into your account the moment you were born again.
The storehouse is not empty. The vault is not locked. The blessing is not pending. It has been released. It has been given. It has been deposited. And yet most of God's children are standing outside with their hands stretched toward heaven, begging for what they already own. Do you see the tragedy in this? Do you see the legal insanity?
Imagine for a moment a man who receives a letter from a law firm informing him that his late uncle has left him an inheritance. $10 sitting sitting in an account under his name, legally transferred, irrevocably his. The documents are signed. The transaction is complete. But this man, instead of going to the bank and withdrawing what is his, stands on the sidewalk outside the bank every day and begs the manager to give him money. "Please, Sir, I need provision. Please, I am struggling. Please, [music] would you be kind enough to bless me with some funds?"
And the manager looks at him with confusion and says, "Sir, you own an account. The money is yours. You do not need to beg. You need to make a withdrawal."
That is what you are doing when you pray, "God, please bless me." You are begging for what has already been transferred into your name. You are treating the finished work of Jesus as though it were incomplete. You are acting as though Calvary was a down payment instead of the full price. And beloved, this is not humility. This is unbelief. This is not dependence. This is ignorance of the covenant.
Let me take you to the root of this. Why do we pray this way? Because we have been taught that we are unworthy, that we are beggars, that we must constantly appeal to God's mercy to receive anything from him. And listen, there was a time when that was true. There was a time when humanity stood outside the presence of God with no legal right to approach, no covenant claim, no access to the throne. That time was before the cross, before the blood, before the resurrection. But you do not live in that time. You live on the other side of the finished work. And everything has changed.
Romans chapter 5 verse 17 says this: "For if by one man's offense, death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." Did you catch that? You have received the gift of righteousness, not working toward it, not hoping for it. You have received it. It has been given, and because of that gift, you are not a beggar. You are royalty. You reign in life. You do not beg a king for his favor when you are his son. You do not plead for his provision when you are his heir.
But here is where the enemy has deceived the church. He has convinced you that to claim what God has already given is arrogance. He has whispered in your ear that to stop begging and start receiving is pride. He has twisted the finished work into a future hope instead of a present reality. And as long as you believe that lie, you will live beneath your inheritance. You will pray from lack instead of fullness. You will ask God to do what he has already done.
Let me make this plain. When you were born again, you were not given a probationary status. You were not placed on trial to see if you would be worthy of blessing later. You were placed in Christ. And in Christ, you were blessed with every spiritual blessing. The moment you believed, the moment the blood of Jesus was applied to your life, the entire warehouse of heaven's provision was open to you. Not because of your performance, not because of your goodness, but because of his finished work, because of the covenant, because God swore an oath to himself that in Christ, all the promises of God are yes and amen.
This is what 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 20 declares: "For all the promises of God in him are yes, and in him amen, to the glory of God through us." In him. Not in your effort. Not in your striving. Not in your begging. In him. You are in Christ. That means every promise is already yes. Every blessing is already released. Every provision is already yours. The question is not whether God will bless you. The question is whether you will believe what he has already said and receive what he has already given.
Now, hear me carefully, because this is where most teaching stops and most believers remain stuck. It is one thing to know intellectually that you have been blessed. It is another thing entirely to live from that reality. And this is the shift I am calling you into today. You must stop praying from the position of lack and start declaring from the position of fullness. You must stop asking God to bless you and start thanking him that he already has. You must stop begging for provision and start receiving what has been provided. This is not presumption. This is faith. This is not arrogance. This is agreement with the finished work.
Let me show you how this changes everything. When you pray, "God, please heal me," you are praying as though healing is something God might do in the future if he is willing. But 1 Peter chapter 2 verse 24 says, "by whose stripes you were healed." Were, past tense. Healing was accomplished at the cross. It was finished when Jesus bore your sicknesses [music] and carried your diseases. The healing is not in the future. The healing is in the past. What you need is not for God to heal you. What you need is to receive the healing that has already been provided and manifested in your body.
When you pray, "God, please provide for me," you are praying as though provision is uncertain, as though you must convince God to open his hand. But Philippians chapter 4 verse 19 says, "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Shall supply. Future certainty based on a present covenant. The supply is guaranteed because the covenant is unbreakable. You do not beg for what is guaranteed. You receive it. You thank God for it. You declare it. You act on it.
When you pray, "God, please [music] give me peace," you are praying as though peace is something you must earn or something God dispenses sparingly. But Colossians chapter 3 verse 15 says, "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts." Let it. It is already there. It is already yours. Christ is your peace. He has already made peace [music] through the blood of his cross. The peace is not coming. The peace has come. Your job is not to beg for it. Your job is to let it rule, to receive it, to rest in it.
Do you see the pattern? Every blessing you have been taught to beg for has already been given. Every promise you have been taught to hope for has already been fulfilled in Christ. The finished work is not a theological concept. It is a legal reality. And when you pray from lack, when you beg God to bless you, you are denying that reality. You are treating Calvary as though it were insufficient. You are acting as though the blood of Jesus paid most of the price, but not all of it. As though there is still something left for you to convince God to do. Beloved, there is nothing left. It is finished. Jesus did not say, "It is almost finished." He did not say, "It will be finished when you pray enough, or believe enough, or surrender enough." He said, "It is finished." Tetelestai. Paid in full. The debt is canceled. The curse is broken. The blessing is released. Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places has been loaded into your account. And the only thing standing between you and the manifestation of that blessing is your willingness to receive it.
But, let me go deeper because I know what some of you are thinking. You [music] are thinking, "If I have already been blessed, then why am I still struggling? If I already have provision, why is my bank account empty? If I already have healing, why is my body still sick?" And this is where the revelation must pierce through the fog of religious tradition and touch the core of how the kingdom operates. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. That phrase "in the heavenly places" is not talking about a location far away. It is talking about a realm, a dimension, the spiritual realm where all of God's promises exist as completed realities. The blessing is real. The provision is real. The healing is real, but it exists in the spiritual realm, and it must be brought from the spiritual into the natural.
This is what faith does. Faith is not begging God to create something that does not exist. Faith is taking hold of what already exists in the spiritual realm and bringing it into manifestation in the natural realm. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It gives substance to the invisible. It makes real in your experience what is already real in the spirit. And this is why your prayer posture matters so much. When you pray, "God, please bless me," you are praying from unbelief. You are declaring with your words that the blessing does not yet exist, that it is uncertain, that it depends on God's mood or your worthiness. But when you pray, "Father, I thank you that you have already blessed me with every spiritual blessing in Christ. I receive that blessing now. I call it forth from the spiritual realm into the natural. I declare that what is true in heaven is becoming manifest in my life," you are praying from faith. You are agreeing with the finished work. You are making a withdrawal from the account that has already been opened in your name.
Listen to what Jesus said in Mark chapter 11 verse 24: "Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." When you pray, believe that you receive them. Not believe that you might receive them someday. Not hope that God will give them if he feels like it. Believe that you receive them. Present tense. Right now, in the spiritual realm, the moment you pray in faith, you receive. And then, because you have received in the spirit, you shall have in the natural. The manifestation follows the receiving. The visible follows the invisible. But you cannot receive what you are begging for. You can only receive what you believe has already been given.
This is the great divide between religion and revelation. Religion says, "Pray harder and maybe God will bless you." Revelation says, "God has already blessed you. Now receive it." Religion says, "Convince God to move." Revelation says, "God has already moved. Now align yourself with what he has done." Religion keeps you on your knees begging. Revelation puts you on your feet declaring. And beloved, I am not against kneeling. I am not against humility. I am against unbelief masquerading as humility. I am against spiritual poverty masquerading as dependence on God.
Think about the implications of this for a moment. When you understand that you have already been blessed, your entire relationship with God shifts. You are no longer approaching him as a distant benefactor who might grant your requests if you grovel enough. You are approaching him as your father who has already opened the entire treasury of heaven to you through the blood of his son. You are no longer a stranger hoping for favor. You are a child walking in inheritance. And this changes the tone of your prayers, the content of your declarations, the confidence of your approach to the throne of grace.
Hebrews chapter 4 verse 16 tells us, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Boldly, not timidly, not tentatively, not wondering if you will be accepted or rejected, boldly, because you have a legal right to be there, because the blood of Jesus has given you access, because you are not an intruder. You are family. And when you come boldly, when you come with the confidence that you have already been blessed, you obtain what you need, not because you convinced God to give it, but because you received what he has already provided.
But I want to show you something even deeper. Because the enemy's deception on this matter goes back further than most believers realize. The adversary has been using this same tactic since [music] the Garden of Eden. What did he say to Eve? "Hath God said?" "Did God really say that you could eat of every tree?" And notice what he did. He caused Eve to question what God had already given. He caused her to doubt the provision that was already hers. He made her think that God was withholding something, that there was more blessing available if she would just reach out and take it on her own terms. And that lie, that fundamental distrust of God's goodness and completeness of his provision, has been passed down through every generation since.
The enemy does not want you to know that you have been fully blessed. He does not want you to know that nothing is being withheld. He does not want you to know that in Christ, you have been given everything pertaining to life and godliness. Because if you knew that, if you really believed that, if you walked in the full assurance of that, his power over you would be broken. He rules through deception. He rules through making you think you lack what you actually possess. He rules through keeping you in a posture of begging when you should be in a posture of reigning.
2 Peter chapter 1 verse 3 says, "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue." All things, not some things, not a partial provision, all things. And they have been given, past tense. Already done. The provision is not on hold. The blessing is not pending. It has been released. It has been granted. And it comes through the knowledge of him. Not through begging. Not through performing. Through knowing who he is and what he has done.
Let me give you a picture of what this looks like in practice. Imagine a soldier who has just returned from war. He fought bravely. He completed his mission. He was victorious. And when he steps off the plane onto his homeland, his commanding officer meets him at the gate and pins a medal on his chest. This medal represents his valor, his achievement, his honor. It has been awarded. It is his. But now imagine that this soldier, instead of wearing the medal with confidence, instead of walking with the bearing of a man who has been decorated for his service, spends the rest of his life standing at the gate [music] begging the commanding officer to give him a medal. "Sir, please. I need a medal. I am not worthy. But please, would you consider giving me one? I will do better. I will try harder. Just please, give me a medal."
The commanding officer would look at him in disbelief and say, "Soldier, I already gave you the medal. It is on your chest. You do not need to beg. You need to believe what has been done and walk in the authority of it."
That is you. That is the church. Jesus has already fought the war. He has already won the victory. He has already been awarded the name above every name. And you have been raised up together with him and seated together with him in heavenly places. You have been given his authority. You have been given his righteousness. You have been given his blessing. The medal is on your chest. The inheritance is in your name. The blessing is in your account. Stop begging for what you already have and start walking in the reality of it.
But here is where the enemy comes in. Because the moment you begin to understand this, the moment you begin to shift from begging to receiving, from lack to fullness, from religion to revelation, the adversary will whisper in your ear, "Who do you think you are? You are not worthy of this. You have not earned this. You are being presumptuous. You are being arrogant. You need to stay humble. You need to keep begging." And beloved, you must recognize that voice for what it is. It is not the voice of the Holy Spirit. It is not the voice of conviction. It is the voice of the accuser. And his entire strategy is to keep you from receiving what Christ has already purchased for you.
The enemy does not fear your begging. He does not fear your tears. He does not fear your long prayers or your fasting or your self-abasement. What he fears is your revelation. What he fears is your confidence in the finished work. What he fears is the moment you stop asking God to bless you and start declaring that he already has. Because in that moment you step into a dimension of authority and power that makes hell tremble. In that moment you stop being a victim and become an enforcer. You stop being a beggar and become an heir. You stop being a defendant and become a judge. And when you know who you are and what you have been given, the kingdom of darkness has no legal ground to stand on.
So, let me ask you this. What would change in your life if you stopped praying from lack and started praying from fullness? What would change if you stopped asking God to bless you and started thanking him that he already has? What would change if you stopped begging for provision and started declaring, "I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. And I receive the manifestation of that blessing in my finances, in my health, in my family, in my calling, right now"?
I will tell you what would change. Everything. Your prayers would shift from desperation to declaration. [music] Your faith would shift from hoping to receiving. Your identity would shift from beggar to heir. Your confession would shift from lack to abundance. And as you begin to speak and pray and live from the position of the blessing instead of the position of the need, the spiritual realm responds. Because the spiritual realm does not respond to your need. It responds to your faith. It responds to your agreement with the finished work. It responds to your declarations that align with the covenant.
Let me show you why this matters so profoundly. [music] In the Old Covenant, blessing was conditional. It depended on obedience. Deuteronomy chapter 28 >> [music] >> lays out the blessings and the curses tied directly to whether Israel kept the commandments or broke them. If you obey, you will be blessed. If you disobey, you will be cursed. That was the covenant of works. Under that system, begging God to bless you made sense because you could never be sure you had done enough. You could never be certain you had kept the law perfectly. But you do not live under the Old Covenant. You live under the New Covenant. And the New Covenant is not based on your obedience. It is based on his.
Hebrews chapter 8 verse 6 tells us that Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant established upon better promises. Better promises. Not conditional promises. Not maybe promises. Promises that do not depend on you. Promises that depend on him. And because he has fulfilled every requirement, the blessing of the New Covenant is unconditional. It is irrevocable. It is yours.
Galatians chapter 3 verse 13 and 14 says, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ." The blessing of Abraham. God told Abraham, "I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing." That blessing, that unconditional, irrevocable covenant blessing has come upon you through Jesus Christ. Not because you earned it, but because Christ redeemed you from the curse and placed you under the blessing.
And this is why you must stop praying like an old covenant believer. You must stop acting as though the blessing depends on whether you have been good enough today. You must stop approaching God with the mindset that says, "Maybe if I pray long enough, maybe if I repent deeply enough, maybe if I prove myself worthy enough, then God will bless me." That is old covenant thinking. That is law-based religion, and it has no place in the new covenant. In the new covenant, you are blessed because Jesus was cursed. You are accepted because Jesus was rejected. You are whole because Jesus was broken. And none of that changes based on your performance. None of that fluctuates based on your worthiness. It is a settled fact. It is a legal reality. It is finished.
This is why the word of God says in Romans chapter 10 verse 9 and 10, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness. And with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Confession. Speaking out. Declaring. Your mouth is the bridge between the spiritual and the natural. What you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth becomes your reality. So, if you believe in your heart that God has blessed you, but you confess with your mouth that you need God to bless you, you are short-circuiting the process. You are believing one thing and speaking another. And your words, not your beliefs, are shaping your experience. You must align your confession with the covenant. You must speak what God has already said. You must declare what God has already done. Not what you hope he will do. Not what you are begging him to do. What he has already done. And when your confession aligns with the finished work, when your words agree with the word, the manifestation is inevitable. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. Because God does not lie. His word does not return void. What he has spoken, he will perform. What he has promised, he will bring to pass. What he has blessed, no man can curse.
So, here is your call to stand. Here is your declaration. Here is what you speak from this moment forward: "I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I do not beg for blessing. I receive blessing. I do not plead for provision. I declare provision. I do not hope for healing. I take healing because it is finished. Because the work is complete. Because the covenant is unbreakable. I am not a beggar. I am a child of God. I am not a victim. I am more than a conqueror. I am not lacking. I am blessed. I am not waiting for God to move. I am walking in what God has already done. And I thank you, Father, not for what you are going to do, but for what you have already done. I thank you that before the foundation of the world, you looked at me in Christ and said, 'You are blessed.' And what you have blessed, no devil in hell can curse. What you have given, no circumstance can take away. What you have finished, I receive. In Jesus' name."
Do you feel the shift? Do you feel the weight of that? This is not positive thinking. This is not name it and claim [music] it. This is covenant reality. This is finished work theology. This is you stepping into the legal position that the blood of Jesus has purchased for you and refusing to pray beneath your inheritance. You are done begging. You are done groveling. You are done treating the cross as though it were insufficient. From this moment forward, you pray as a son. You pray as an heir. You pray as one who has been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. And when you pray that way, when you live that way, when you speak that way, the kingdom of heaven responds.
But beloved, let me bring you to a place of rest. The blessing does not depend on your perfection. The blessing depends on his finished work. You are not earning the blessing by praying correctly. You are receiving the blessing that has already been earned by Jesus. Your job is not to perform. Your job is to rest. Your job is to believe. Your job is to receive. And here is the beauty of the covenant. Even when you stumble, even when you doubt, even when you slip back into old patterns of begging, the blessing does not disappear. It is not conditional on your flawless faith. It is secured by his flawless blood. You are learning to walk in a new dimension. You are learning a new language. And as you learn, as you grow, as you renew your mind to the truth of what has been done, the manifestation increases. The receiving becomes easier. And one day, you will look back and realize that you have not begged God to bless you in months, because you have been living in the blessing all along.
This is the finished work. This is the covenant. This is your inheritance. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Not will be. Not might be. Not if you are good enough. You have been, past tense, completed action, settled reality. And the only question that remains is this: Will you receive it? Will you believe it? Will you stop praying from the position of lack and start declaring from the position of fullness? Will you stop asking God to bless you and start thanking him that he already has? Because beloved, when you make that shift, everything changes. Your prayers become powerful. Your faith becomes active. Your life becomes a testimony to the finished work of Jesus Christ. You stop being a thermometer that reflects your circumstances and become a thermostat that changes them. You stop being moved by what you see and start being moved only by what God has said. And you walk through this world not as a beggar hoping for a handout, but as an heir enforcing a covenant. Not as a victim crying for help, but as a victor standing in authority. Not as someone who needs to be blessed, but as someone who has already been blessed and is now walking in the fullness of that reality.
This is who you are. This is what has been done. This is the truth the enemy does not want you to know. And now that you know it, now that the revelation has been spoken, now that the light has been turned on, you cannot go back to begging. You cannot return to the old prayers. You cannot unsee what you have seen. The blessing is yours. The covenant is unbreakable. The finished work is complete. [music] And from this moment forward, you live from that place. You pray from that place. You speak from that place. You receive from that place. Not someday. Today. Not when you are more spiritual. Right now. Not when you deserve it. You never will. But Jesus did. And you are in him. And in him, you are blessed.
But if the blessing is already yours, if it has already been given, if it is already sitting in your account waiting to be withdrawn, then why does it feel like so few believers are actually walking in it? Why do so many of God's children live in poverty, in sickness, in defeat, in anxiety, when they have been blessed with every spiritual blessing? What is the missing key? What is the one thing that unlocks the manifestation of what has already been provided? That is the question we must answer next. And beloved, when you see it, when you understand it, when you step into it, you will never be the same.
