Jay Dyer is DANGEROUSLY WRONG About Salvation

Are we good? We're good. Okay. Amen. God bless you all. So, blessings to you all.

Uh, a lot to look at uh this afternoon. And I was just saying that what I want to do this afternoon or early evening UK time is deal with a onslaught of attacks against biblical Christianity, once saved, always saved. And go to Numbers chapter 22. And uh let's park up here for at least two hours, I would imagine, to deal with a beautiful doctrine, once saved, always saved, or if saved, always saved. And guys like uh Jay Dier are doing the rounds pushing back hard. Uh, they'd have you believe that there's no assurance of salvation basically. And unless you're in the Eastern Orthodox Church or the Roman Catholic Church, you're wasting your time. And yet, here's the thing. If that was the case, if people like Jay Dyier really believed in such a doctrine, uh, he'd be quite uh evangelistic when he goes on the Alex Jones show and he'd be bending over backwards to help Jones and all of his cohorts out to mostly Protestant evangelical Catholic.

But uh I want to start in the Old Testament and uh after you are saved, what you all need to know, and I include myself in this, is that we have the assurance of salvation. Catholics haven't got this. Orthodoxy hasn't got this. And uh the Episcopal Church in the US or the Church of England in the UK don't have the assurance of salvation. The golden rule, the sacraments, the mysteries, all these terms that you hear uh from such religious groups are really all they can hold on to. So as a Bible believing Christian, we have the scripture and a lot of Bible verses to look at this evening. And uh just quick blessings to those on the line already. Uh, daydream blessings to you. And yes, we just started uh Kenned. So, a lot to look at the this afternoon. Okay.

Numbers 22 and uh in Numbers chapter 22, got a picture here of Balum and Balac and uh they are hanging up Israel, the Lord's elect. And of course, Israel in the Old Testament is up with the church in the New Testament. The devil's been after Israel for such a long time. And when he's not bashing Israel, he's bashing the church and specifically Bible believing Christians and guys like Dier and Sam Shimone, just a couple of heretics and all of your Catholic crowd on YouTube or all of your ecumenical crowd on YouTube. Even David Wood is now having to take a stand. He's been challenged by a guy called Wilson, an American loudmouth, to deal with orthodoxy or take a stand, if you will, and uh push the one true church. This is long overdue. Incidentally, I've been calling out Wood for a long time. It's all they were to bash Islam and deal with uh Muslims or the religion of peace as it's known.

But here's the truth of the matter, brethren. If the gospel is uh incomplete, if you hold to, for example, conditional security, or if you're so ecumenical that you work with Catholics, Orthodoxy, and apostate Protestantism, what have you got? What have you got? So, I'm pleased, shall we say, that someone like Andrew Wilson, who's got a filthy mouth, is at least putting pressure on people like David Wood, who I'm told historically is a Calvinist. So excluding the tulip uh, he's got once saved always saved down and justification by faith down, I would hope. So this is long overdue. Amen.

But uh what we're going to do this afternoon is look at the scripture, sola scriptura, which is being uh attacked left, right, and center. Here's the great truth. You got two scriptures to memorize. He that hath the Son hath life. You can't beat that if you stay up all night. Another great scripture uh from the book of uh Ephesians, going back to uh, "you hath he quickened, that were dead in trespasses and sins." Quickened, made alive. Eternal life means without end. Of course, we know this. This is kid stuff for Bible believing Christians. But if you're new to the faith, or if you got swept up in the rasmataz of orthodoxy or Catholicism or high Anglicanism, uh, someone like C.S. Lewis, who was just in awe of such a system, then uh, you really are uh, going the wrong direction.

But Numbers 22, got a great picture here, and let's pick it up in verse uh 12. And God said unto Balam, "Thou shalt not go with them. Thou shalt not curse the people." Why? For they are blessed. They are blessed. In reference to uh Israel, who of course, you know, was out of fellowship with the Lord for a long time. And uh, keep your hand and go to Romans chapter 11. And uh, we're not through with Numbers yet. And uh, a saved man or a saved woman, at their worst state, is still a saved man or a saved woman. This is abhorrent to people like Dier and Shimone in their paradigm. You can lose your salvation. You have to do this, you have to do that. And even then, it's not guaranteed. Romans 11:28, "As concerning the gospel, the good news, they are enemies for your sakes." In reference to Israel, in 26, "but as touching the election, concerning the election, they are beloved for the Father's sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without, are without repentance." In reference to Israel as the Lord's elect nation. And that beautiful promise over in uh Jeremiah 31. "As long as the stars, the sun, and the moon endure, so will Israel." And of course, she's been through what, 3, 4 thousand years, make it 3 and a half thousand years of bloodshed, almost destroyed, almost eradicated during the 20th century, not only in Nazi Europe, but in Soviet Russia. And yet, they are still standing.

Numbers still, Numbers uh, Numbers 22. Look at verse uh 22. And God's anger was kindled because he went. Going back to Balam, who's pretty much a hireling. He works for the highest bidder, if you will, and he's been given an offer that he cannot refuse, as it were. Later on, of course, uh, he gets his comeuppance. And the angel of the Lord stood in the way for an adversary against him. Angel of the Lord, a Christophany, a Theophany. Simply put, this is Christ pre-the incarnation. The angel, definite article, the angel of the Lord. He gets in the way. It's not Balam uh going down to curse Israel. He was riding upon his ass, and his two servants with him.

Go to chapter 23 of Numbers and 2 Timothy chapter 2. Numbers 23. Numbers 23. Another precious building on Balam to really curse Israel. Balam, type of the devil in this context. And uh, Balak, type of the false prophets or antichrist and false prophets, if you will, during the Great Tribulation. And the pressure is building here to curse Israel, to destroy Israel. Numbers 23, look at verse uh 20. "Behold, I have received commandment to bless, and he hath blessed, and I cannot reverse it." The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Cannot be reversed in reference to Israel. But of course, Israel in the Old Testament is a type of the church in the New. Moses, Old Testament; Messiah, New Testament. Israel in the wilderness, Old Testament; church in the wilderness, New Testament. Aaron, high priest in the Old Testament; Jesus, our high priest for the New. "21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel. The Lord his God is with him, and a shout of a king is among them."

This what we call imputation versus infusion. Just very briefly, go to Second Timothy chapter 2. Just park up there for a couple of minutes. The two main views going back to the Reformation is how is a man or woman made right with God Almighty? Is it infusion, going back to an infant being baptized to wash away whatever you believe original sin, and that starts one's salvation? Or is it imputation, a transfer, Christ's righteousness transferred to the sinner, and the sinner's unrighteousness transferred to the savior, who then leaves your sins in hell? These are critical subjects, and I'm going to keep saying this, guys like Wood, get off the fence. If you have a ministry, deal with all the isms. I've said this for over 20 years now. We we came onto YouTube in 2007. We deal with the Catholic Church. We deal with Calvinism, the Arminian position, conditional security, charismania. We are a pretty broad ministry, but at heart, we are evangelistic. We hold a free grace. Want people to be saved first and foremost. Well, of course. And to grow people in grace. Uh, but also to help people know they are saved. And I'm all in favor of putting pressure on these big guns. Uh, another large ministry on YouTube, a guy called Avery, a very smart young black American, and uh, he's having the pressure put on him too to take a stand. You're not helping anybody if you just focus on, focus on Islam and take the uh, Muslims apart and give no gospel to those people that come out of Islam, or you say, "I know a good church," appoint them to some apostate or legalistic church system, and those poor Muslims who've got saved, if they do get saved, are going to a false church and are not uh, grounded, they're not growing in grace.

So this is how the Lord operates. He'll use someone like Dier, a very educated guy, a very smart guy. Don't get me wrong, these aren't um, ignorant people when it comes to their knowledge of philosophy. But of course, philosophy is not the issue. Scripture, the simplicity of scripture from a child. Paul says to uh Timothy, "You've known the holy scriptures. They can make you wise unto salvation." So, praise the Lord that the Lord is raising up guys like Dier, who's a heretic in and of himself, but he's putting pressure on the big guns to open their mouths and preach the gospel. And I say, "Amen indeed." Uh, what did I say? Second, uh, Timothy. Second, uh, Timothy. A lot of Bible to look at this evening. A lot of Bibles. So, give this live stream a like if you'd be so kind. And uh, keep your thoughts in the chats, and I will check them shortly. Uh, 2 Timothy, 2 Timothy uh chapter 2 verse uh 11. "It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, should also live with him. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us. [snorts] If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot. He cannot. He cannot deny himself."

You got a picture there of a saved man or woman who gets into apostasy. Lot is a great example. Samson also a good example. But someone like Lot is a great specimen and uh just drifts, doesn't get right with the Lord, and the judgment seat, just stripped naked, if you will, symbolically speaking, you understand, but he's still saved, but he hasn't to show for his life. This is a picture of an apostate who goes so far from the Lord and perhaps experiences a sin unto death, but maybe not. But when he or she eventually dies, because they've been out of fellowship with the Lord, they're still saved by grace. But what a way to have the judgment seat. And God remains faithful even when we are not. "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him." Thousand-year reign, of course. "If we deny him," like Simon would do, and uh others back in the Old Testament, "he also will deny us." That has a partial reference going back to how many crowns do you receive at the judgment seat. 1 Corinthians 3 speaks about that in more detail. 2 Corinthians 5 says it's a terror of the Lord, judgment seat, the bema seat of the Lord, and our works are going to be uh weighed, let's say, uh weighed in the balance, not your salvation, but your works. And uh, you've got gold, silver, brass, those three, the highest commodities. Then it's wood, hay, stubble. We say, uh, the crown jewels. And many people at the judgment seats will be crying like babies. They're still saved, but didn't do much for the Lord, if anything at all, and they'll be, they will be denied a full blessing, a full uh, commendation. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." But for some of his servants, won't be quite such a warm welcoming. "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful." Amen. He cannot. He cannot deny himself. He can't say to you, "I never knew you." Because he did know you. He can only say that to somebody who never knew him to start with.

Go to uh Psalm 103. Standing versus state, salvation versus service. Guys like Shimone got no idea. No idea. And here's the irony. Someone like Shimone was a Calvinist. I think uh, so was Dier. In fact, Dier and Shimone, I mean, all around the houses. All around the houses. Pentecostal, charismatic, Baptist. Now you got this Anglo, or this Anglo, this sort of uh, Catholic/ uh, Orthodox alliance which is coming uh, together. It's all a works-based system, quite simply put. But the scripture is our authority. I could sit here all night and deal with these guys, but that's just my opinion. It's immaterial, or anybody who's anyone, if they spend 10, 15, 20 minutes just shooting the breeze. As I say, it's just their opinion. What saith the scripture?

Psalm 103 and look at verse uh 12. "As far as the east is from the west." East versus west. Soviet Union versus the US. Historically speaking, the Cold War, east versus west. But in the context, east was where knowledge came from. They came from the east, the Magi. All of your knowledge, excellency, academia came from the east. So when those Magi came from the east to Jerusalem, the eternal city, to worship the newborn King, that was unprecedented. Think back to the 1960s, the Beatles, uh, Mia Farrow, uh, the Rolling Stones, all those British and American celebrities went to India to meet the gurus. They traveled far. Of course, Indian roots go back to uh, uh, Persia and Queen Esther. And it's so sad, isn't it? US, UK, and well-known British and American people going to India to get high on LSD, to sit at the foot, to sit at the feet of some Indian guru, whatever for. And of course, it is so because they were traitors to their Christian heritage. "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

Go to Isaiah. This is Old Testament stuff pointing to the New Testament. But I should say, just for the record, Old Testament saints, uh, their sins were covered, but not cleared until Christ paid for their sins. That's why no one went to heaven upon death. They went to Abraham's bosom and they waited for the uh, the Redeemer to go and rescue them. Isaiah, Isaiah, Isaiah 1, Isaiah 1, Isaiah 1, verse uh 18. "Come now, come now." There's your call. There's an invitation. "Come now. Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord." Context, Israel, but precariously anyone, anywhere, at any time. This is a general call to repentance. A general call to appropriate the atonement. "Come now and let's reason together, saith the Lord." This is from the Lord's own mouth. "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." The blood of Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Go to Philippians. Philippians. One of the reasons why you're seeing an increase of orthodoxy online is because so many Protestant churches are just worthless. Quite simply put. When I got saved back in 2002, Calvinism was a big uh, the big noise. People like MacArthur, uh, James Kennedy, R.C. Sproul, guys like that were so popular. It fed the the intellect, you see. Very smart guys, and they were, and very uh, charismatic, not in the sense of slaying the spirit, but gifted with the gab, very funny, you know, very entertaining, and generally pretty sincere people. A lot of people sort of gravitated to that uh, type of a ministry. And when I first got saved, I was very much into MacArthur's ministry. I got his reference Bible, still have at home, many of his books, which are very good. But that again feeds the flesh. It puts a lot of emphasis on uh, one's intellect. And you get into the TULIP, the Perseverance of the Saints. If you're really saved, they say, you will persevere on. If you don't persevere on, uh, then you're never saved to start with. This goes back to the Calvinist versus Arminian position. For the Calvinist, they demand works to prove election. But the Arminian demands works to prove salvation. And therefore, both groups, if you don't live up to their, their view on the perseverance of the saints, then as far as they are concerned, if you just fall away basically, or someone like Lot, for example, they would say, "never saved to start with." But of course, you know, very well, he was saved. He's called a just man and a righteous man. Would have thought twice in the New Testament. "Man looks on the outward appearance. But God looks on the heart." Only three people can affirm a person's salvation. You, the Lord, and the devil. And I believe that to be so. If you say to me, "Brother James, I've trusted Christ to save me. I believed on him." So on and so forth. I will not talk you out of your salvation. If you say to me, "I believed on him. I trusted him to save me, but my life is a mess." That, of course, is your state, not your standing. They say, "Where do we stand? Where do we stand?" Well, they say, "What a state you're in. Clean yourself up." I wouldn't spend any of my time trying to talk you out of your salvation. But if I thought you weren't saved, then I'd come alongside you and give some scriptures, like I'm going to do this evening. But for um, people like Dia, Shimone, and some other people, for them, what they are looking for is real fruit. And yes, there are fruits, and there are signs of obedience, faithfulness, sanctification, but these, these all come post-salvation, not pre-salvation.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. I want Philippians 1 and I want Philippians 2. And I want to get these verses together because when you go through the New Testament, doing a video like this, for example, I'm explaining, I'm laying out my argument for this evening's live stream. And I know people are going to say to me, "What about this verse? What about that verse?" So on and so forth. And I'll cover those verses as we go through the stream this evening. Let's do Philippians 1 and Philippians 2 back to back. Now, scripture interprets scripture. Sola scriptura, scripture alone, that is being attacked left, right, and center. And I'm seeing people online getting all tripped up on the canon, how do we know what book is so, how do we know, how do we know which book is canonical, this or that. And I'll deal with that in a future live stream. But for this evening, I want to stick to the assurance, the assurance, fully persuaded, the assurance of salvation.

Philippians 1, look at verse uh 6. "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Is that clear? He will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The emphasis has always been on God Almighty to get you saved, to draw all men unto him. What he has started, only he can complete. You had no say whatsoever when you're born, where you were born, to who you were born. You had no say in that whatsoever. Your parents decided to have a relationship. Nine months later, you popped out, and there you are. Salvation is the same. You had no role to play whatsoever in the atonement, in creation, in damnation, or salvation.

Philippians 2. Philippians 2, look at verse uh 12. "Wherefore, my beloved, save people, my beloved, as you have always obeyed." Have you always obeyed? I haven't always obeyed. "As you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, not when I'm here, present with you, but now much more in my absence." They say absence makes the heart fonder. "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Doesn't say work out your salvation. Work out your salvation. You know, you can't work out your salvation. What can you possibly do? What can you possibly do to work out your salvation? All you can do is make your calling and election. Election. Going back to service, chosen for service, works, if you will. Ephesians 2 says, "not of works," so on and so forth, but saved unto uh good works, post your salvation, meaning faith alone. I'm getting ahead of myself. I know I am. But the point being, your election, your service. Think of a military analogy. You start off as what? Uh, a private. And they train you, the army trains you, they equip you, they deploy you, they rescue you if they have to. But as far as they are concerned, they do everything, everything they can for you. All you can do is sign up, take the salute, and off you go. That's your service. You can go AWOL, which is a court-martial, of course, or KIA, killed in action, [snorts] but the point being, as far as a military would be concerned, they have got you covered. As far as the Messiah is concerned, he's got us covered. We're told, you know, we're told over in Ephesians 6 about a sword, the breastplate, um, take on the full armor of God, so on and so forth. You can stand against the the wheel, the uh, the attacks uh of the devil, the the onslaught of the devil. And a soldier in the secular connotation, which is a spiritual soldier, we're fully equipped. So when the devil attacks us, we don't fall apart. And a good soldier will not fall apart. A good soldier will not run away like a coward. A good soldier will stand and fight, as should, should a good Christian.

But here's the thing. You can either yield to the Holy Ghost, Romans chapter 6, or not yield to the Holy Ghost. That part is conditional on you. And that's why some Christians are stronger than others. Some soldiers are better than others. Some soldiers become sergeant majors, lance corporals, lieutenants, so on and so forth. They work, they study, so on and so forth. And the same is true of Christians. The more time you spend in scripture, the more you grow. The less time, the more you uh, become uh, stunted. "Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God that worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." It's a paradox, but it's not really. Paul says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." That's quite a statement. I can do all things. Put up with poverty, death, disease, loneliness, suffering here, so on and so forth. For it is God that worketh. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. All you can do is yield to the Holy Ghost. Abide in the Lord Jesus Christ. Going back to your fellowship, your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

What's going on with these Orthodox people and Catholic? But this new breed of Orthodox crowd is examining your fruits. We call these people fruit inspectors. If you're really redeemed. But even that doesn't quite work with these guys because in their mindset, you have to get baptized into their system, receive the sacraments, Eucharist, confession, stay in a state of grace. And of course, within Orthodoxy and Catholicism, you can lose your salvation and still perish. In fact, you were to say to Jay, "Die, how can I know that I'm saved?" "You can't." That's the whole point. They call that the sin of presumption in a Catholic church.

Go to Job, Old Testament, Christ and us, the hope of glory. And uh, what delineates Bible believing Christians more than other so-called Christian groups is that we know. Isn't that arrogant? We know that we are saved. And uh, I was raised Catholic, and I'm sure there are former Catholics on the line this evening. Uh, Job 14, and former Orthodox on the line this evening, and former Protestants on the line this evening. And be honest with yourselves, brethren. You never had assurance of salvation. You probably questioned your salvation. "Am I really saved? I gave all those sins, but I've got some new sins now that I'm battling with." You can't really win, can you? Free grace, lordship, salvation. But if you're really saved, you wouldn't do this. You shouldn't do that. Amen to that. But you might. But I was this and that beforehand. Okay, no longer. Amen. Amen. But now I can't forgive. I still got that tongue on myself. I'm still gossiping. I'm still backbiting, or I want an easy life. My wife goes to this church, and I go to that church. Divided house. I won't rebuke her. Oh, no. You know, it'd be an absolute uh, firestorm if I was to correct my wife, or vice versa. We all want an easy life, don't we? And it's a compromise. We start to compromise. I'll give you a scripture from Second John shortly. You realize even when you compromise, it's sinful.

Job, Job 14, Job 14 uh 10. "But man dieth and wasteth away." Point unto man, once die, after this judgment, unless of course you are around the rapture comes. Enoch never dies. Guys like Enoch never dies, never die. Those that see the rapture, if it's us or Gen, or a future generation. Elijah, of course, he didn't die the first time, but he'll die the second time. Revelation uh chapter 11. Moses, of course, will die twice. "But man dieth and wasteth away." They say he's wasting away. He's so gaunt. Wasteth away. They say, "Waste him in Hollywood. Waste him. Wasteth away." Yay. "Man giveth up the ghost. And where is he?" Where is he? A famous person dies. Where is he? He was a good man. Good in the sense of famous, well-to-do, very successful. Where is he? Where is she? They say, "R.I.P." Rest in peace. Why do they say that? Why do they say that? You got no idea where that man or that woman went. Nor do you. Or your Catholic mystics going back to the dark ages. Every single one of them. You got no idea where those people are. I saw a clip this morning, an ex, I might, I may do a video on it. Orthodox bishops, half a dozen of them, washing, now get this, washing what looked like an old ankle, an old foot, I should say, an old foot of a deceased person. And I thought to myself, the Catholic Church have their own relics, body parts. Can you imagine that? Orthodox bishops washing someone's foot, all black, all discolored. It was, it was, it was disgusting. And after they finished baptizing this person's foot, uh, all the laity got their buckets of water, and it was like a water fight. Quite. I'll do a video on it. You got to see it to believe it. In their mindset, that is holy. Water brings forth life, the new birth. No, it doesn't. Water brings forth the new birth. So, water brings forth, water brings forth the first birth. The Holy Spirit brings forth the second birth. And that's what Jay D is pushing. He wants you Protestants out there, you Bible believing Christians out there, to throw your Bibles away, basically, go into the Orthodox church and worship relics. I'm not exaggerating. And go through this Greek Orthodox setup, the liturgy, the mysteries. I was raised a Catholic. I've seen the Catholics do this themselves. Do you know only one, one other group of people have uh relics or body parts? You, you ready for this? Only one other group of people preserve body parts. Serial killers. They call them trophies. Son of Sam, Jeffrey Dahmer. Serial killers. And someone like Dia and Shimone are pushing directly and indirectly to go over to that system and to wash someone's human anatomy. You couldn't make this stuff up, could you? It's wicked.

Job uh 14. Look at verse uh 14. "If a man die, shall he live again?" You better believe it. "All the days of my appointed time will I wait till my change come." "Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God." You must be born again. Speak to a Muslim. "Are you saved?" "I hope to be." A Catholic. "Are you saved?" "We're not allowed to be saved or we're not allowed to know we are saved. It's a sin of presumption." Orthodoxy. "No. You have to keep persevering on the mysteries, the healing of the souls, and go via the bishops, all uh unmarried men." The priests are married, but the bishops are not. And yet, First Timothy says an overseer should be husband of one wife. And all these bishops, overseers, lording their authority over the people. And here's old Job way back when making the case, "If a man die, shall he live again?" Well, he certainly will do. There's two resurrections. One to salvation, eternal salvation. One to eternal damnation. You got two resurrections in Revelation. The first death is the one to hold on to. The second death is the one to avoid at all costs.

Let's open this up a bit more. Go to 1 John chapter 5. Now, if you're just an ordinary member of the laity in the Catholic church or the Orthodox church, I'm not against you, and I was where you are once upon a time. I was raised in a Catholic system. We had five priests in our family, and I got one to this day who's still alive. He's a Franciscan in Preston, not far from here. Um, and it's like all these things. They give lip service to the Lord, these types of religious people, but they don't give you the whole, the whole truth. The late J. Vernon McGee put it beautifully. He said, "Put the cookies on the lowest shelf so the kids can get to the cookies. Don't put them up, don't put the cookies up so high that you can't get to the cookies." Going back to the church is to put Christ up so high, like Paul Washer, you can't reach that level of perfection, people. Or Ray Comfort. You can't reach that level of perfection. And yet, all those guys, and Franklin Graham, another good example, saying you got to turn all your sins to be saved and live a a crucified life. And yet, Franklin's got six Harley-Davidson bikes. Six. Paul said, "Let your moderation be known among all men." I don't care. The guy's got 20 Harley-Davidsons. I couldn't care less. That's his state. Not understanding if he's even saved. But he's pushing his lordship salvation. And the guy lives like a king.

First John 5, 1 Peter 1, 2 Timothy 1. Lot of scripture to look at this evening. Please give this live stream a like if you'd be so kind. I have to keep uh repeating this. If you are just coming to the live stream this evening, we need to get this video out far and wide to rescue our Catholic friends, our Orthodox friends who afflict themselves, starve themselves sometimes, and uh, beat themselves sometimes physically, but mostly spiritually, and put themselves down. "I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy." No one's worthy. That's the whole point. "For by grace have you been saved by faith, not of yourselves," so on and so forth.

First John, lot of Bible to look at this evening. A lot of Bible. And uh, must get ahead of myself. First John 5 uh 13. "These things have I written unto you," they say, "put it in writing. Put it in writing," "that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know." Do you know? That you may know that you have present tense eternal life, which of course doesn't end. It's eternal. "And that you may believe on the name of the Son of God." At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess. You put that scripture to a Catholic, they will, they will uh, they will squirm and try to shoot you down or twist it.

First Peter, because of course, there's no assurance of salvation in those churches. How can there be any assurance of salvation? You can lose your salvation in those churches. That's the whole thing about it. And therefore, don't even bother singing "Amazing Grace," because in that paradigm of Catholicism, Orthodoxy, you haven't yet been saved. You are going to be saved if, if you persevere on in holiness and righteousness, going back to proving election from from the Calvinist point of view, or salvation from the Arminian point of view.

First Peter, 1 Peter 1 verse uh, Peter verse three. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to his abundance." The abundance, plentifully, the abundant mercy hath begotten us again. Begotten, to bring forth, to beget, to give you new life. To beget, uh, beget hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, living hope, lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Took place 2,000 years ago. None of us were alive when that took place, nor were our grandpar-, our grand-, our grandparents, or their grandparents. This took place 2,000 years ago. Going back to my human equivalent of your parents deciding to have you, and that wasn't something you had any role in whatsoever. Same is true of the new birth. The source of the new birth is down to God Almighty. Two, an inheritance. They say, uh, "When my parents die, I get the inheritance." An inheritance incorruptible, can't be uh, contaminated, and undefiled, undefiled. Nothing will contaminate this, and that fadeth not away. Second law of thermodynamics, everything is breaking down. You're getting older, you're slowing down, your car may break down. I know, I know, you know, I know it very well. Or you may have a a leak in your roof, or you may have sewage problems. Everything's breaking down. Things getting worse, not better. But here, that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. We have a reservation. "In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive unto myself, where I am, there you may be also." Our Savior is busy building a mansion for us. The old Catholic joke, "We got the keys." Hey, we got the door. And those keys that were given to uh, the apostles, well, first was given to Peter, then all the apostles. Matthew 18, John chapter 20. Those keys opened up Pentecost. Again, not for this, not for today. Uh, go to Second Timothy. Get into papal and apostolic succession. Not for this evening.

Second uh Timothy. If you've gone on holiday recently, or vacation as the Americans say, you arrive at the airport, make yourself a coffee. Make yourself a coffee. Get yourself a coffee. Get yourself a snack, and just sit back and enjoy the journey. You may feel un-, you may feel uneasy. You may feel sick, laid. Hey, it makes no difference. The pilots will get you from A to B. You either want to enjoy the journey, or you want to not enjoy the journey. But as far as a pilot is concerned, you're going to get from A to B regardless of how you feel. And Christ is the captain of our salvation.

Second uh Timothy 1 12. "For the which cause I also suffer these things." Of course, if you've been called uh common salvation, uh, if you've received the gospel, the grace of God, then you are now in the army of the Lord. You're a soldier of the Lord. We all are. And some of us are going to suffer more than others, going back to how much we put in. Basically, you get out what you put in. If you really, if you really, if you really have the Lord and make yourself available to the Lord, he'll use you. You hear about overtime. Guys are working overtime all the time, 100 hours a week. Mr. Reliable. He's always available for overtime, for shifts, so on and so forth. And the more you serve the Lord, the more you suffer for him. "For the which cause I also suffer these things. Nevertheless, I am not ashamed." Romans 1. He's not ashamed of the gospel, the just for the unjust, elsewhere. And we live by faith, not by sight. "For I know whom I have believed." No ambiguity there. whatsoever. All the mysteries, perseverance of the saints, if you're a five-point Calvinist, don't die outside of a state of grace. You go to purgatory and be purged. Hebrews 1 says, "You've already been purged." And Christ has sat down at the right hand of God Almighty. You know, do you know why he sat down? Because his work was finished. In the Old Testament, priests didn't sit down. They couldn't sit down. Twice a day, every day, sacrificing animals, always an ongoing sacrificial system, covering the sins of the saints, but not clearing these sins of the saints until the High Priest came, the Lord Jesus Christ. What John the Baptist say? "Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away, taketh away the sin of the world." Not ashamed. I'm not ashamed. For I know, I know, there's no doubt there. "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Go to Psalm 23. So when people say, "You can't know you're saved," you're dealing with biblical illiterates, first and foremost. Biblical agnostics as well. People who want to follow their traditions like the Pharisees, and as a result, would nullify the scriptures. And uh, what's going on really, in essence, is Orthodoxy and Catholicism doesn't really, they don't, they don't really believe Christ has paid for your sins. I mean, all of your sins. What they would say is, well, he's, he's, he's covered, he's got the ball rolling, he's got the ball rolling, but you got to come alongside him and help him out, uh, in the sense of being like a junior partner. They won't use that kind of terminology, but the reality is, you must be baptized and mortal, that washes away original sin. So the Catholics, the Catholics would have you believe, and um, you must become an Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, to have the truth. Only salvation is found in the Eastern Orthodox Church. All, all these other groups are counterfeits, basically. And that's really arrogant. Goes back to the cults, the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons. Uh, the Witnesses say, "No, only we have the truth." And the Mormons say, "No, only we have the truth." "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Salvation is in a person, not a place. Salvation is in Christ, not church. You don't copyright Christ. How dare you? And go around and persecute people and even put people to death who refused to bow the knee. There was a woman called Ansku, 1700s or thereabouts, and she was being taught by the Catholics because she wouldn't hold to the uh, the Eucharist being the literal body and blood of Christ. And she said this, she said, "I have heard that God made man, but I have not heard that man made God." What a great statement. 24, 25-year-old English Christian woman, martyred. What's going on there? She refused to bend the knee to the papacy. Orthodoxy can be quite brutal. They haven't got, they're not innocent when it comes to what they've done to people throughout church history. This goes back to heavy shepherding. The uh, the brethren do this, the exclusive brethren, not the open brethren, but the exclusive brethren, those that follow John Nelson Darby, and the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, they, they're heavy shepherds, they sort of put so much pressure on their congregants that they almost break them. And uh, the Amish, we discussed them this past week, the Mennonites to a lesser extent, I would imagine. And this goes back to trying to control people, manipulation, basically. You can't rest in Christ. That's audacious. That's presumptuous. That's presumptuous, I should say, and also audacious, but mostly presumptuous. You can't know you're saved. That's so arrogant. No understanding of the atonement.

David, under law, he says the following in uh verse, Psalm 23 verse 6. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." David was a carnal man, had women, concubines, children from those women. One of his sons killed another son for raping David's daughter. I love this. "And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." No doubt, no ambiguity. No. "Well, I hope to be saved. I want to be saved." Are you saved? Yes or no? I'm going to be quite firm on this point. You can know you are saved. And if you don't know you are saved, there's something wrong with you.

Job. Job. I went to the Catholic system and I was clueless, uh, and every time we go to mass, "Lord, I am not worthy to uh receive it, to receive it only in the word, and my sin should be taken away." Your sin was taken away when you're first born again. But of course, for the Catholic, that is uh, baptism. But that just starts the ball rolling. That's infusion. It's not imputation. You have to work alongside the church via the sacraments to stay saved. That's quite a heavy burden to put on people. You got five chapters in the book of Galatians where Paul says to saved Gentiles, he says, "You guys have fallen from grace. Who hath bewitched you?" They were saved by hearing the gospel. Galatians chapter 3:2-3 from memory. Then these Judaizers came along. "Hey guys, you can't just believe on Jesus. That's easy believism." "Oh, really?" "No, no, no, no, no. You have to stop eating any kind of food." "Oh, really?" "Oh, yeah. And you got to follow these set of rules." "Okay. Become very Jewish. Go back to the Sabbath, for example, and do what Moses did back in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament." And these Galatians, saved Gentiles from modern-day Turkey, fell foul of these Judaizers. And Paul says, "You've fallen from grace." And when these so-called Protestants go over to Orthodoxy and embrace a works-based system, they too have fallen from grace.

Job 19 verse uh 25. "For I know." It's good stuff, isn't it? "For I know that my Redeemer liveth." Of Abraham was I am. "And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth." We believe this is the oldest book in the Bible, written by Moses, quite likely. And here is Job, when push comes to shove, so clear in his mind. "For I know that my Redeemer, my Savior, redeemed, to buy back, liveth, and that he shall stand at that latter day upon the earth." Mount of Olives, first and foremost. Then later on, Matthew 25, he summons the sheep and the goats. Good. Revelation, just very briefly. And of course, the sheep are saved, the goats are unsaved. Revelation uh 1 18. "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore. Amen; and have the keys of hell and death."

Go back to uh, let's see now. Go to First Thessalonians. Let's keep opening up this beautiful doctrine of assurance of salvation. First uh Thessalonians, 1 Thessalonians 5 23. "And the very God of peace sanctify you." Sanctification, clean you up, separate you. "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly. And I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." It almost matches Philippians chapter 1. God has started a good work in you, and he will perform it unto the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Go to First John. 1 John chapter 5. When I was a Catholic, they would read segments of scripture during the Mass with no real context. You wouldn't get a Bible study like you're getting this evening. And of course, if it's not explained to you, it doesn't really resonate with you. And most of the time, some of the Gospels, some of the Epistles, and over what, a 12-month period, it was just a, just a scattering of scripture. When I first got saved nearly 25 years ago, and I came across real preachers, some are dead now, I thought, "Wow, that's what it means to hear the Bible being explained to you verse by verse." It's kind of heartbreaking, really, because Catholics, generally speaking, are decent people, and as are Muslim people, and Jewish people. Orthodox people, I would imagine, I haven't met any, I don't think, in my life. But when you start to say, "You can know you're saved," and "If you don't know you're saved, something's wrong," they get very defensive. They see it as arrogant. You see, "Once saved, always saved." "Oh, no, that's a devil's gospel. That's a license to sin." They say, "You got to keep the commandments, go to church regularly, do this and do that." And even then, it's not guaranteed.

1 John 5 verse uh 4. "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the

world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. There's no works there. Who is he that overcometh the world? But he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God. Go to uh let's see now. Uh go to Hebrews 10 and go to John 1. Hebrews 10. John 1. We'll do John 1. Hebrews 10. Once you get standing versus state, clearing your minds, service versus salvation, you'll be solid. And when guys like Dier and Shimone come along and Andrew Wilson, guys like that, you just chuckle to yourself really. And I think you know they know of the Lord and have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. And uh to think you are to give up your Bible to join a church which can't assure you of salvation or the best you can do still isn't quite enough or you can lose your salvation then why bother to start with.

John 1, Hebrews 10. This of course is the new birth which is emitted from so many churches, Protestant, Catholic, uh, Orthodox. When you say to a Catholic, "Are you born again?" They say, "Yes, I've been baptized." No. Try it again. Have you been born again? Well, I got baptized. No, that's not what saves you. Paul says he wasn't sent to baptize but to preach the gospel. John 1 verse uh 12 but as many as received him to them gave you power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name. They say this they say do you receive this man to be your lawfully wedded husband? Do you receive this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife? Is either a yes or a no. Right? That's a legal marriage in the eyes of the state. People present so on and so forth. To as many as received him, same thing. To them gave you power to become the sons of God. Sons of God, the family of God, Old Testament angels are called sons of God. back in the book of uh Job which are born verse 13 going back to a family analogy born into the family of Adam but here into the family of God the uh the last Adam which are born born again which are born not of blood your blood is contaminated flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God your flesh is no good when Adam fell he he completely was destroyed original sin just flawed Adam and Eve, they were so destroyed, God had to kill an animal, quite likely a lamb, skin, the lamb, and cover our parents with an animal's covering type of Christ, the lamb of God, which takes away with the sin of the world. And also, that was God's initiative to do that. You got a scripture back in Genesis when our parents were hiding from uh from Jehovah God and they cover themselves with uh leaves. What's that picture of your self-righteousness? You got a scripture in uh Matthew 22, I think it is, when there's a great banquet taking place, and this guy turns up there, in his own gear, if you will, his own fig leaves, and the king says, "Bind him hand and foot. Get him out of it. What's going on? He's gate crashed my celebrations. He's not got my son's righteousness. He's not clothed with the uh with the correct garments. All our righteousness is as filthy, filthy, filthy rags. Not a just man on the earth that doeth good and sinnth not. Not a just man. That's a righteous man. That's a redeemed man. Not a just man on the earth that doeth good and sinnth not. We've all sinned and fallen short. If we say we haven't sinned, we make him a lie. We confess our sins which are born not of blood, not of the will of the flesh, not of the will of man, but of God. The source of the new birth is God Almighty. You can't will it to be saved. All you can do is receive what God has already done for you.

I'll show you something else. Let's go to uh Hebrews 11, Hebrews 10. Another heresy in these churches is they baptized babies and uh Church of England, Presbyterianism, uh Orthodoxy, Hebrews 11, look at verse, uh six. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. He that cometh to God must believe that he is one infant sucking on its pacifier. And he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. You can't find infant baptism in scripture. What a joke. Hebrews 10. Hebrews 10 uh 10. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once once once for all the just for the unjust he might bring us to God. Look at verse uh 14. For by one offering he hath perfected perfected forever them that are sanctified. Look at verse uh 22. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Go to 2 Corinthians uh 2 Corinthians chapter 2. in uh the gospels I think it's Matthew 27 from memory when Christ uh died in the cross the veil of the temple was written in twain and of course that was devastating for the Jews that meant uh man could go straight to God himself no veil needed and it was said somewhat uh uh flippantly but it's probably true that they got the old duct tape out and put put it put it back together again because of course for them that would put them out of business. Uh it's it's basically along the lines of this with the Catholic Church and Orthodoxy. It's a counterfeit of the Old Testament. They're trying to continue it on the Old Testament, the high priest, the animal sacrificial system, the altar for the Catholics, you know, Christ is in the Eucharist and the tabernacle, the Holy of Holies for the Old Testament, the priest system. There's no priests in the New Testament. The Lord Jesus Christ pick him priests. He picked him fishermen. Apart from Matthew who was a tax collector and Dr. Luke who's a medical doctor and Paul who was a scholar. All the others were just ordinary people, ordinary fisherman. Uh just ordinary people. We are a priest believers. All of us are. But for the Catholic Church, they can't handle that. This kind of religious tug of tug of tugofwar. No, we have the truth. No, we have the truth. We're the one true church and we're the one true church. And if you don't believe what we believe, we're going to anathematize you. We're going to torture you and put you to death. It's for your own good. It's for your own good. Madness, just madness.

2 Corinthians 5 uh 18. And all things are of God. Who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. Past tense. Reconciled. Reconciliation. Two parties have been reconciled. God and man via the Lord Jesus Christ. He's our mediator. He's the middle man. He would taste death for every man. They say, "I got a very bitter taste in my mouth." Bittersweet is a term you find over in Revelation. And John is told to eat the book. It's bittersweet. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. There's no mention there of Mother Mary or Holy Mother Church or Eastern Orthodoxy or any church for that matter. I'm being consistent, brethren. I don't care if you're King James only, Presbyterian, Methodist. No church can save you. No ministry can save you. No group, no power church, nobody can save you. Salvation is in Christ Jesus. Period. That's your standing, not your state. Post your salvation, we get into disciplehip, sanctification. How holy are you? How righteous are you? How consecrated are you? Will vary considerably. But your standing if you're born again, if you receive Christ as your savior through faith plus nothing is sin is perfection. Going back to numbers, there was sin in Israel. There was all sorts of wickedness in Israel. But from God's point of view, they were without sin. No perverseness in Israel. As far as God was concerned, Israel, God's elect nation was sinless. And as far as God is concerned in reference to the body of Christ, we are sinless based on our standing, not our state.

All things are of God, who have reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and given to us a ministry of reconciliation. He that winner souls is wise. Do you have a hunger for the lost? I do. Do you try to get people saved? Do you do you do anything for the Lord? Do you put out tracks? Do you share the gospel? This is your service, not your salvation. Do you want people in heaven to say, "Thank you, brother such and such, or sister such and such. I'm here because of your endeavors." Paul said in 1 Corinthians 4, he was their spiritual father. He had begotten him. He got him saved. Paul was a street preacher. And the great thing for all of us when we hit the uh the judgment seat will be the crowns available to us and how many souls we brought to glory. The word of reconciliation now then we are ambassadors for Christ. An ambassador British ambassador to Paris. American ambassador to Beijing. It's obvious an ambassador. You work flat out for your government. Make your country a lot of money. That's what an ambassador does. He or she is the official point man or woman for your country. Our citizenship is in heaven. Of course, as though God did beseech you by us, we pray you in Christ to be reconciled to God. You lost people out there, be reconciled to God. Don't just look at Jesus and say, "Yeah, son of God and keep chewing your gum." Oh yeah, died on the cross and start cooking the baked beans. Whatever, whatever it might be. Receive him. Believe on him. Get yourself born again, people.

21. Here's a great scripture. For he hath made him to be sin for us. The father made the sin. The father made the son to be sin for us. The lamb of god which covers which covers all of our sins who knew no sin sinless go through any religious system of the world they all hope their gurus are good people when Muhammad died his men thought he'd be raised from the dead and for three days according to one hadith they didn't even want to fill in his grave they thought Muhammad would be raised up like Jesus it didn't happen but he had made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness the righteousness of God in him. It can't be improved if you try all night. And yet many a church will try to perfect their own people through church attendance. Uh the Mormons have their Monday night get together at the steakhouse. That's a family night. The witnesses do their 30 hours a week. They had their pioneers who go out and go doornocking to get people in the witnesses. And you got Catholic uh missionaries, people like Ignatius Lella, a Jesuit who was raised up to to destroy the Protestant Reformation, Opus Day, Knights of Malta, Knights of Columbus, all these secret society groups within the Catholic Church have been raised up to push back. And here's the other truth of the matter. One of the reasons why a lot of people going over to orthodoxy and uh Catholicism is based on their Bibles that they were using or still use to this day. I saw a debate last night. I may do a video next week on this on the subject of confessing our sins. We confess our fault, not our sins. But your new Bibles say to confess your sins from James 5. You are to confess your faults one to another, not your sins. not the same. But of course, the King James has been thrown out. Most Christians don't use the King James anymore. They ridicule it. They just revile it quite honestly. It's too archaic. They say, and uh they use corrupt Bibles.

Go to Philippians. As far as God is concerned, he's given all of us a perfect way to be saved. And uh you may say, well, you know, in my church, we are apostolic and uh we got to the apostles. We're the one true church. You might say we we have the fullness of Christ, but Christ is full of grace. Philippians Philippians 3:4, though I might also have confidence in the flesh. You say, listen to me now, you guys. Listen to me. Listen to me now. If any other man thinkketh that he hath wealth where he might trust in the flesh, I more circumcised the eighth day. Take it off. of the stock of Israel, take it off. Of the tribe Benjamin, take it off. A Hebrew of the Hebrews, it off. As touched in the law, a Pharisee, take it off. Matthew 5 says, "Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees, you are no wise enter the kingdom of heaven." Those guys prayed, they fasted, they read the scriptures, but their hearts were dead. You got a guy in the New Testament called Cornelius. He prayed. He fasted. Was good to Israel. His whole household also were decent, righteous people. But the guy wasn't saved until he heard the gospel. Faith coming by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Concerning zeal, zealous, persecuting the church, touching the righteousness which is of the law, blameless. like uh Job in the Old Testament, Elizabeth and uh Zechariah in the New Testament, blameless. If you looked at Paul the Apostle, you say, "What a great man, a good righteous man, a good uh Jew, tick all the boxes, a really good upright righteous guy. But what things were gained to me?" There's quite a few things there. Those accounted loss for Christ. Yay. Doubtless on account all things but lost. Top of the class on a Galileo. A top rabbi equipped to hunt down Christians. Someone like barrier in uh Russia or Himmler in uh Nazi Germany terrifying those people. And Sataras says he was a killer. But he was trusted and he got letters from the high priests to go around killing Christians, a scholar in his own right, nationality. You doubtless on account all things but lost for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things. The Jews hated him when he became a Christian. Tried to kill him more than once. That sounds kind of familiar, doesn't it? Back to the Reformation. And yes, in the Reformation, you have some Calvinist groups, persecuting non-Calvinist groups, a guy called Rutherford, not Judge Rutherford, Sammy Rutherford, he was brutal. John Calvin, Geneva, 60 people that we know of died under his watch in Geneva. the Jesuits, Dominicans, the Franciscans, the Spanish Inquisition. Brutal. Today, you got the the religion of peace with their jihad holy war. But I'm doing it for your own good. You see, it's for your own good as they take your teeth out, pluck your eyes out, cut your fingers off. You doubtless on account all things but loss. for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I've suffered the loss of all things. We got to kill this guy. He's bad news. People are coming to Jesus in their numbers. We're losing a lot of support in Israel. And who count them dung and who count them but dung? Excrement filth. He's saying Pharisee, the Pharisees, big deal. circumcised the eighth day, big deal. A Pharisee the Pharisee, big deal. Torah, big deal. But the law itself is good and holy and righteous. He says it elsewhere. But as a means of salvation, no, not at all. That I may win Christ and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness.

Going back to the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church, the Church of England, the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witness, all those groups are all worksbased systems which is of the law, the Ten Commandments, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. Isn't that beautiful? Go to Acts 15. When Christ dies on the cross, he says, "It is finished." Paul says, "Adam the body, presence with the Lord." He says, "We already see it in the heavenly places in Christ." And uh I think the main issue with all these groups is basically pride. It's basically uh I got to do this and I got to do that and I can't do this and I can't do that. And these uh presumptuous Protestants, these Bible believers, these King James only people, they despise us. They really despise us. And uh we're holy mother church. We're the one true church. Rome broke from the east. Or was it the east? It broke from the west. It's all religion. It's just religion. These are religious people talking about religion. They're not regenerate. They're just religious people. And Paul was the most religious man who ever lived quite likely. But he was lost until he was regenerated. Cornelius, again, a great man, a proelite to Judaism, but he wasn't saved until he heard the gospel.

Acts 15 got a church uh conference not council taking place and you got some legalists at a presence uh in verse 5 but there was certain of the sect of the Pharisees that term sect uh they say sectarian a sect of the Pharisees which believed they believed saying that it was needful to circumcise them and command and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And here's the truth of the matter. You can be a saved heretic, a saved apostate because you weren't always an apostate or a heretic. You can drift, you can drift into error and remain there and refuse to repent of that error. Old Testament, you got many examples of saved people who into all sorts of crazy and in some cases debased uh practices. So a heretic can be a saved person as can an apostate. In fact, an apostate simply means you moved away from a position that you once held to. The Church of England be a good example of that. I won't say they're all lost, but most probably are. But here you got a crowd that that have believed in verse five, but they're saying circumcision, which is a work, and keep Lord Moses, which is also a work. 600 plus commandments. And there's a big discussion about this in verse six and verse 7 when there had been much disputing. And I've always said this, this meeting went on for probably many hours. You got Peter present, you got Paul present, you got James, three big guns, John Zeb quite likely, and other apostles present. This was a big event in Jerusalem. They're trying to hammer out how is a man saved? What is salvation? What's the assurance of salvation? Peter rose up and said unto them, "Men and brethren, all Jews present, no Gentiles present, incidentally, men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago, God made a choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel and believe." Cornelius, Acts chapter 10, Acts chapter 2, only Jews are present, no Gentiles. and God which knoweth the hearts, bear them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us. Acts two, day of Pentecost. Like I just said, Jews are present. Several thousand get saved. The church is officially born. Later on, of course, the first gentile uh is the Ethiopian unic in Acts chapter 8, Cornelius. Acts chapter 10, Paul gets saved. Acts chapter 9, he's gone. Comes back in Acts chapter 11, by which stage he's been to Asia Minor and elsewhere. He's getting the he's getting the Greeks saved in their droves, Turkey, Greece, I mean all over the Roman Empire. And here is uh Peter lining up beautifully, beautifully with the Apostle Paul. They hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, spare them witness, given them the Holy Ghost. uh going back to uh uh Cornelius in Acts 10, even added on to us the apostles, the Jews, Acts chapter 2, and put no difference between us, the Jews, and them uh the Gentiles, purifying purifying purifying their hearts by faith. Isn't that simple? But that is anathematized by the Catholics and the Orthodox. They say if you say man is justified by faith alone that he works let him be anathema or J say uh it's not just to believe in the lord Jesus Christ you got to get baptized join the orthodox church go to the rules and rituals all the icons or the images and persevere so on and so forth there's no guarantee of salvation whatsoever no guarantee of salvation those churches whatsoever

10 now therefore Why tempt God to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples? We say backloading and front loading the gospel. You backload. First of all, you say uh got to turn all your sins first of all. All of your sins. That's the first thing. That's the backload. You get saved. They got to frontload the gospel. You got to do X, Y, and Zed. Got to really sort of ship up, you know, mean business for the Lord. But again, you should yield to the Holy Ghost. Be holy, for I'm holy, sayeth the Lord. Yes. What? Of course. But you're put you're putting a condition on the gospel. Do this first of all and do that afterwards. No, you come as you are to as many as received him. Going back to the marriage analogy, you either received your spouse or you did not. There's no gray area. Now, therefore, why tempt God? They're trying to tempt God. These Judaizers, they're saved. Acts 21, James, the Lord's half brother, good man called Calones, he says, "Hey, Paul, these Jews think you're not really into the law anymore. And these Jews think you are attacking Moses and going around saying, Jews have to give up on this and that and shouldn't circumcise their sons just to prove to the Jews you're still one of the good old boys. take a vow, uh, do this and do that to let the Jews know you're still on on par. And old Paul shaves his hair, takes a vow, goes to the temple, sacrifice an animal. You say, "What's going on there?" To the Jew, I became into a Jew. To the Gentiles, I became as a Gentile. That by some means I may win some. But what a fine line to walk. But Paul as a Jew during that 40-year dispensation went as far as he could without sinning. But it's James that puts a pressure on him in Acts chapter Acts chapter 21. It's very close to to lordship. He's putting pressure on Paul. And Paul said, "I go as far as I can without sinning to get my people saved." He told you in in in Romans he wish he could be a curse for his people. It meant they were saved. What didn't say he was paid to be a cursed for his people in order to get them saved. You won't find Jay D saying that or Sam Shimone saying that. They don't care about you. They use filthy language. They are ferocious. Some of the stuff they come out with those guys. They're just of another spirit altogether quite honestly.

Now therefore, why tempt you God to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples? And a yoke, it's uh a yoke like he's uh using um an agriculture analogy of a noose around a a neck of of a cow or an ox plowing and it's, you know, you're trying to hold the animal back as it plows. And here you're holding people back basically. I want to be saved. I am saved. You know, I want to enjoy my salvation. Hold on. you know, you can't eat that kind of food anymore. You know, you're not circumcised and so on and so forth. Again, backloading frontload the gospel and they're trying to hold you back, trying to weigh you down, basically. Uh, put a neck, excuse me, put a yoke on the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we able to bear. He's saying our fathers couldn't handle this. We can't handle this. Our fathers couldn't handle this. We can't handle this. And you guys in verse five, you Jewish Judaizers, you Jewish people, you save men. Okay, fair enough. You're putting pressure on the Gentiles, not the Jews, the Gentiles to live like we lived. And even we couldn't do it. Look at it again now. Therefore, why tempt you God? You're tempting God. God lives in us. The hope of glory. Hey soul, why kicking against the pricks? Why persecuted my people when you hit my people hitting me? Why empty God? To put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, nor we, the apostles were able to bear. Free grace versus lordship salvation. That's all you got, brethren. All these groups I've discussed over the last what hour and 20 minutes or so. They all hold to lordship salvation. He's not lord of all. He's not God at all. They backload. They frontload the gospel. And you feel very good for yourself. Look at me. I go to the Orthodox church. The bishops, you know, with the big beards, the nice uniforms. We are apostolic. Go back to the early church or the Catholics with their pope and the intercession of the saints. Go to mass regularly. We're good Catholic people. Not like you Protestants out there. you you Bible people, you know, you sort of, you know, you you're kind of strange people and the word of God says we are peculiar people. They don't like this idea that we can know we're saved. Someone said to me, "It's cheap grace." Don't ever say that. Don't ever say that. It's free grace. I know people mean well when they say this, but when you start saying it's cheap grace, you're belittling the blood of Christ. The best you can do is no good. All of our righteousness is as filthy rags. I don't care if you're saved or unsaved. The best you can do is still no good without a blood atonement and Christ's righteousness. But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved even as they Jew or Gentile. It makes no difference. They're saved by grace plus nothing.

Going back to faith in verse 9. And this was good until Galatians chapter 2 when Peter starts to backslide and uh go to Philippians chapter 1 and he's hanging around with uh Barnabas and they're saying we're Jews, you know, we're the chosen race. The old pride thing, you see, the old nationalism starts to rear its ugly head. You guys, you're Gentiles. You're not quite as good as we are. You know, we go back to father Abraham. What would the Jews say? Uh, we have no king but Caesar. We're not born of fornication. Uh, we're Moses disciples. What does the Catholic Church say? We have Mother Mary with the one true church. That arrogance, that old pride and know Simon Peter who's been saved what, 25 years? He's backsliding. And he's basically saying to the Gentile believers in Galatia, you're not as good as us. You know, we're the Lord's elect people. We, you know, we are the chosen race. And old Paul [laughter] in Galatians 2, he said, "Hey," he says, "we are Jews and we do what's we do what's found in the law and so forth." And he takes he takes Peter to task. He says, "You're a hypocrite, Peter, and you too, Barnabas, and you're making our gentile brethren feel like secondass citizens." There's a guy called Graten. He was a Catholic uh historian of canon law and he said Simon Peter the first so-called pope I'm being somewhat flippant when I say that he said Simon Peter was preaching on the gospel and that book says if any man preach on the gospel let him be anthema that's how serious it was old Simon Peter was sitting around with Jewish Christians snubbing gentile Christians and almost falling into trap here in Acts uh 15:5, keep the law, get circumcised, watch what you eat, so on and so forth. Acts 10, three times he's told by Jesus, kill the animal and get busy. Not so, Lord. I'm a good Jewish boy. I don't touch and it's not kosher. Get busy. Kill the animal and get busy with the Gentiles. There's a guy coming to meet There's a guy coming. There's a guy coming to meet you soon called Cornelius. He's a gentile. He's a Roman. It's like saying to a Jew in World War II, he's a Nazi. Pray for him. And old Peter says, "I can't stand it." Like Jonah back in the Old Testament, but the Lord works on Peter. And of course, he basically speaks to Cornelius. It's a frosty meat. No. He says, you know, it's not good for me to come into contact with you. I'm a Jew and you're a Gentile like Jonah. These are filthy people. Nine of Lord Gentiles. They're heathen. And God said, go and witness to them. Said, I won't do it. Let them go to hell. And that incident on the boats when he's sleeping like a baby and the ship's about to sink in and the carton lots to find out what's going on and old Jonah just called as a cucumber and see what's going on. He said, "Oh, I'm a Jew, you know, and I got to do this and so on and so forth." And in the end, God had to divorce Jonah to preach to the Gentiles. And of course, Simon Peter, good Jewish boy, got that feeling deep down inside of him, anti-gentile. If you hear these testimonies of Muslims that live in uh Palestine, a term I don't like to use very much. It's Israel, but nevertheless, they call it Palestine, and they say this, they say, "All all my life I was raised to hate the Jews, and I'm now a Christian. I believe in Jesus, but that's still I still got that problem deep down in my DNA, that resentment towards the Jew. It's deep in the DNA of a saved Muslim. with and with Jonah and Simon Peter in their DNA that gentile he's a savage you know it's arrogance basically and Christ told us to be one shepherd one sheep you know Jew and Gentile be would be united with one shepherd that's one of the reason why the Jews hated Jesus what the goyam the goyam but we're the chosen race if [snorts] you ever listen to rabbitical Jews like TV singer or other uh acidic Jews uh ask him to explain Genesis uh I think it's chapter 2 from memory uh when uh you got the two the two seeds back in Genesis the seed of the serpents and uh the seed of the woman and an Orthodox Jew if he's honest with you if he's honest many aren't if he's honest with you he'll say that that seed of the serpent is in reference to the Gentiles and They hold that view that Gentiles are lower than Jews basically. And that's why throughout the Old Testament, you got this problem, this Jew and Gentile issue. But Paul didn't have that problem. Paul wasn't stuck in himself like Simon was. Without Simon's old nature, you see, it's the old flesh.

Philippians 1. Philippians 1. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor. Yet what I shall choose are what not. For I'm in a straight betw twix to having a desire to depart departure get me get me home to glory and to be with Christ which is far better. Nevertheless, to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. I'm going to stay back and take care of the church. I want to be with the Lord physically. I'm with him already spiritually. Go back to Ephesians chapter 2. Go to second Timothy uh chapter 4. But there's work to be done down here. Second Timothy 4 6 [clears throat] for I'm now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. He's about to die. There's no purgatory waiting for Paul. That place is a facious demonic doctrine. Not good enough for heaven. not bad enough for hell. Let's find this third way, this third place called purgatory. All your bad Catholics go there and they're purged and masses are being said for the wicked Catholic. And of course, who knows how long to suffer purgatory? You got no idea, have you? And you're paying priests to say mass for you or if you can't afford to pay, they'll do masses anyway for you. What a strange system. What a strange system. But of course, it's demonic. And here Paul's ready to go. His departure is at hand. This a uh the next train leaving on platform 4 at half 10 is about to arrive and Paul's waiting to meet his maker.

Go to Romans chapter 8. You can't know you're saved. That's presumptuous. Work out your own salvation. Fear and trembling. And of course, they knock off the next verse. and these poor people. I want to be saved. I think I'm saved, but I keep messing up. I keep doubting my salvation. When I came to Christ, I was on fire. Now I'm lukewarm. Am I really saved? Did I really believe? Just torch themselves. Romans 8 uh 37. Now in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Past tense. Now however you feel it doesn't always help. Your feelings will fluctuate. If you're like me, you get a bad night's sleep. You feel awful and you can't always think straight and your feelings are all over the place. You women out there when you start to menopause, permenopause, up and down, up and down, up and down. about to become pregnant. So you are pregnant the cravings you're very emotional up and down up and down. Don't trust your feelings, brethren. It doesn't help at all. And uh you're more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Go to John chapter 10. And uh I'm not going to say there's no saved Catholics. Of course not. Or saved Orthodox, but of course not. Or saved Protestants. Of course not. But I'll tell you something. If they are saved, those people, they are miserable people cuz they look at themselves all the time. The flesh, the flesh, the flesh, the flesh, the flesh. Did I pray enough this week? Did I fast enough this week? Did we do enough novenas this week? Did we say, you know, enough prayers this week? Are we really living for the Lord? Did we really do this or that? So on and so forth. What a way to live. What a way to live. John John 10 27. My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me and I give unto them temporary life, eternal life and they shall never never perish. Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand, my father which gave them me is greater than all. And no man is able to pluck them out of my father's hand. I and my father are one. Look at it again. Uh 28. And I gave unto them eternal life. Doesn't end. Eternal life. It can't be reversed. It's eternal. Eternal life. And they shall never never never perish. Neither shall any man pluck them out pluck them out of my hand. This is the Savior speaking. 29. and no man is able to put them out of my father's hand. The son's got you. The father's got you. We call this double security. Once saved, always saved. If saved, always saved. Now, if you hold to conditional security, you're missing out on a great blessing here. And quite likely, you've missed the whole point of what salvation even is.

Go to Hebrews chapter 13. Hebrews chapter 13. Hebrews 13 verse 5. Let your conversation conversation not just your speech, your character, your conduct. Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as you have. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. [snorts] So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper. And I will not fear what man what man can do unto me. Go back to Romans. Now I can say this because we live in a pretty peaceful time at the moment, but living under the dark ages with the papacy trying to track down Protestants or living in living under an Islamic caliphate. uh not that long ago in Syria and uh Iraq or in Nigeria to this day. Uh your life is is is just uh so so precarious. So precarious. Romans 8:38. Fry I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. death, life, things present, things to come, angels, principalities, height, depth, any other creature can separate us from the love of God which is in Are you in Christ? which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Go to Romans chapter 3. Romans chapter 3. I've given you no philosophy. I've given you no creed or council or confession of faith, just a scripture. But that for some of our Catholic friends, Orthodox friends is not enough. Basically, not enough. They sort of look down the nose at the scripture. Well, it's it's there. Yeah. Okay. It's there, but that's not the whole picture. You need the magisterium of the church, the bishops in the orthodox church. You need uh theologians, philosophers and even then even then you have to persevere on go to confession uh receive the Eucharist, the great mysteries, drink his blood, eat his flesh. Romans 3 20 5 whom God had set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness through the uh to declare his righteousness for the mission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God. Go to Romans 5 N. Much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wroth through him. Hell, fire. Go to Ephesians chapter 1. And so far there's been no works, no baptism, no church membership. And they hate it when you when you talk like that, these religious people. Ephesians 1 7 in whom we have redemption past tense through his blood the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace. Uh go to uh let's see now Colossians. Colossians Colossians and I want let's see now Colossians and I want first uh Peter Colossians 1 Peter 1. Colossians 1 14. In whom we have redemption. Redeemed. The uh the the debt has been paid. We've been redeemed. We've been uh purchased in whom we have redemption through his blood. Even the forgiveness the forgiveness of sins. go to uh uh verse 20 Colossians 1:20. And heaven made peace through the blood of his cross by him to reconcile all things unto himself. I see whether there be things in heaven. Excuse me. Whether there be things in earth, uh whether there be things in earth or things in heaven, this goes back to universal atonement, but only those that appropriate atonement are going to be saved. There's no universal salvation, but there's universal atonement. All this talk about only elect are going to be saved or Christ just died for the may die for everyone and everything. That of course is a Calvinist heresy, limited atonement, but not for tonight.

First Peter. First Peter and uh let's see now. Hebrews uh [sighs] let's see now. I want first Peter and I want uh first John. Uh is that just double check that it's right? Uh, first Peter 1 uh 18. For as much as you know that you are not redeemed with credible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition. They say these are our traditions from your fathers. but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. The precious blood of Christ. Go to first John. Uh I make it John chapter 3. John chapter 3. We do first John a little later. John uh chapter 3. This is almost like uh I mean this this type of a doctr this type of a study really for some of you is obvious. You've heard this before. I know you've heard it before. Uh but it's this is lacking all over the world quite honestly. This is where your celebrity Christians won't even look at these scriptures. They're so busy looking at uh uh the Holy Ghost proceeding from the father or is it the father and the son? Who has the final authority? Is it the pope? Is it the patriarchs? And uh if these guys and gals to be politically correct got into the scriptures, they would save themselves so much hassle. They really would do. John 3:36, he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life, and he shall and he that believeth, not the Son, excuse me, he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life, and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wroth of God abideth on him. Now, John's gospel harmonizes beautifully with the Paul Nine epistles. Believe, receive. I did a study years ago and I counted the amount of times that blood receive believe uh was found in scripture and uh believe receive blood out did uh repent 3 to one of course repentance just for the record means a change of mind not just like a kind of yeah I guess that's so no fully persuaded not just sort of you know mental ascent but a true repentance means to change from belief to belief and then faith towards the Lord Jesus Christ. So uh go to Romans 8 and uh let's see now. Yeah, do Romans 8 and Galatians 4.

So the main reasons why people doubt their salvation uh I would suggest is uh doubting scripture first and foremost going back to corrupt Bibles and a lack of faith in the Bible. Uh yeah, Romans uh Romans 8 Galatians 4, Romans 8, Galatians 4. Now what delineates us from religious people is uh we have the godhead living inside of us first and foremost and uh let's see now Romans 8 uh 16 the spirit itself beareth witness with our spirits that we are the children of God. When you first got saved, when I first got saved, I knew something spectacular, miraculous had happened. No doubt about it. And I was on cloud9 a bit period of time, enjoying my salvation, going here, going there. Uh just I was a complete different person. I felt completely uh reborn, not just literally to the new birth, but felt like a new person. Of course my experience will be different to yours and you get into uh antidotal stories which is always uh subjective not objective but uh if you have been saved if you are saved the Holy Ghost will testify with your spirit that you belong to him. Uh Galatians 4 and uh look at verse uh six. And because ye are sons, that thing again, sons, sons of God, uh God has sent forth the spirits of his son into your hearts crying, "Aba, Abba, father." Uh, Abba, Aramaic, Abba, father. It's like daddy. That's the intimacy. He can't deny you if he knows you. Uh, think of a family family um situation. Mother and father uh have a child. The child falls out with their parents, becomes aranged, changes their name, but they still are your child or you are still their mother or father. No matter how a strain your child or children uh constray from you or how how bad it can be, they're still your blood. Name change makes no difference. um go on record. I denounce my father. I denounce mother. Makes no difference. They're still your parents. You can stray very far from God Almighty. I mean, look at Lot for example. Who would have thought Lot was a saved man? Or Samson, the best people in scripture. Look at Job. It turns out in chapter 21 of Job, he was a he was self-righteous. So the Holy Ghost cries out uh aba father and the holy ghost intercedes for us with sounds that cannot be uttered. Uh go to first John chapter 5 and uh 1 John chapter 5 look at verse uh 10. He that believeth on the son of God hath the witness in himself. He that believeth not God hath made him a liar because he believeth not the record that God gave of his son. They say just for the record I'm going on record. This like official it's now on record. And this is the record that God had given to us eternal life. And this life is in his church. No, in his son.

Go to Acts chapter 13. To be saved is simple. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Receive him. You want the assurance of salvation, read the scriptures, pray, witness, and all of your doubts will uh dissipate. No scripture, no prayers, no witnessing, no chance of salvation. Grieve the Holy Ghost, quench the Holy Ghost, and uh live a very unhappy existence. And that's not what God wants for you at all. Acts chapter 13. Acts chapter 13, look at verse uh 38. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins, and by him all that believe are justified from some things. No, are justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. Their sins were covered but not cleared until Christ paid for their sins. Ephesians 4 says he led captivity he he led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men. Matthew 27:15 it is speaks about many of the saints that slept arose and walked around Jerusalem. He's paid for their sins. Abraham's bosom as far as the righteous side is closed. The unrighteous side is of course uh still very much open for business. I'll go back to Romans 8 and we'll close there. Two hours. I think it's long enough for tonight. Uh Romans 8. If Romans 8 and 2 John mustn't forget second John that gets overlooked sometimes. Second John, Romans 8, 2 John. We'll close it in second John. [snorts] Pray for Catholics. Pray for Orthodox people. Uh Anglicans, let's not uh be too hard on these people. They are victims. When I say there, I mean the leoty or victims, leaders of course are more accountable. They have a

Level. They have a high level of accountability. James 3 says those that are masters, those that are teachers, are held to a higher level of accountability. But the leity in those three brands of Christendom are very, uh, susceptible to bad teaching.

Uh, let's see now. Yeah, Romans 8. There's a few more verses I want to give you, just to get this all down. Uh, 2 John, Romans 8, and some other short verses. Romans 8, uh, 28. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

"God isn't when any should perish, but how all should come to repentance." For whom he did for, no going back to forknowledge, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called. And whom he called, them he also justified. And whom he justified, them he also glorified. You've got, uh, a calling in verse, uh, 30, followed by justification and glorification.

Now, just to back up, without getting into this too deep, too deeply. This is what the Calvinists love to use to prove predestination. Your general calling to repentance. God calls all sinners everywhere to repent. He's given repentance to the Jew and the Gentile. Acts 5, the, uh, the Jew has been given repentance. Acts 11, so has a Gentile. Uh, in John chapter 12, Christ draws all men unto himself. The Holy Ghost convicts the world of sin, uh, righteousness, and judgment to come. And here, once you respond to the calling, you will see the justification, exoneration. That means not only not guilty, you are now seen as being innocent.

Going back to my numbers scripture many hours ago, when God's enemy was looking at Israel as the Lord's elect nation in their millions, he couldn't curse Israel. And the devil can't curse the church. We have an advocate with the Father, being the Lord Jesus Christ. And he steps into the picture and speaks up for his church. And no matter what the devil does to hit the church as the body of Christ or Christians individually, Christ overrules and overrides the devil and intercedes for us, as does the Holy Ghost in the book of, uh, Romans as well.

Justification, glorification, that becomes more relevant when we go into God's literal kingdom. We're glorified. Our old nature's been forever eradicated. We're like Christ, sinless. Now, as far as our standing is concerned from God's point of view, we are sinners. But as our state is concerned, we still have the sin and problem. Paul says in Corinthians, he says, "Many of you are weak, sickly, and some of you sleep." "If we confess our sins, uh, we wouldn't be condemned with the world." And that's, and back in first John, he says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Going back to our relationship with the Lord. Think of any spouse or sibling relationship. If you're close to your spouse or your sibling, it's all good. Amen. But if you're not close to your spouse or your sibling, or mother or father, it's not good. And your relationship with such suffers terribly. "What shall we say, uh, to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" And of course, nobody can be against you.

Uh, going back to the verse I gave you earlier on from 37, 38, and, uh, 39. Go to John chapter 5, and, uh, we'll start to wrap these, these, uh, this video up shortly. John 5. Oh, 2 John as well. Mustn't forget second John. Uh, John 5. John 5, uh, 24. "Verily, verily, I say unto he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath right here, right now everlasting life, and should not come into condemnation, hell fire, but is passed from death unto life."

Go to second John, and, uh, we say, uh, such as a professing Christian versus a, uh, possessing Christian. You can profess, you can profess to be a Christian, or you can profess to, you can profess to have everlasting life, but do you possess it? There's a great difference between professing and possessing. Second John chapter 2, tiny little epistle. And in second John, John is scathing of another wing of, uh, those within, shall we say, professing Christianity. Second John, uh, 7. 2 John, uh, 2 John 7. "For many, uh, for many, for many deceivers, for many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh."

Of course, the Jews deny Christ came in the flesh. And the term Christ means Messiah. Jesus Christ came in the flesh. They say he's not the Messiah. They may say he's a rabbi, or rabbi. That's as far as they'll go. And of course, when they turn him down, they're called deceivers. Judaizers elsewhere, legalists elsewhere, enemies of the cross elsewhere, uh, who confess not, they don't confess it, that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. God manifest in the flesh. The word became flesh and dwelt among us. They say, "No, we don't believe that. We don't believe God Almighty became a man." That's, uh, prohibited in Islam, in Judaism, and elsewhere. We can't accept that. And therefore, they're going to perish because they won't receive that truth.

"Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward." Come back to service, not salvation. One state, not standing. "Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ," going back to the incarnation, "hath not God." Clearly, he's a lost person. "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both a Father and a Son." Uh, practically and positionally. Now, positionally, you've got him anyway, but practically, the relationship can suffer, can be strained. Again, Prince Andrew, good example in the UK, in a terrible state at the moment with his brother the King and his late mother the Queen, but he's still royalty. Always has been, always will be. And mark my words, when that, uh, rascal dies, the, the old rep bait dies, he'll get a burial at, uh, Windsor Castle. You mark my words.

Look at verse, uh, uh, 10. "If they come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive not into your house, neither bid God speed." Some JW comes the house, some Mormon, or some apostate Anglican, or somebody, uh, who refuses to accept the incarnation, Christ's deity, like the Chrisidians. Uh, neither bid him God speed. "He that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds." That's why you can't hang around with liberals, apostates. Go to Ephesians 2 to close, because if you do, they will contaminate you, and you'll lose many rewards and crowns. And of course, Christians, and I include myself, we're all guilty of compromise. And that's a problem. And it's just how it is. And you got to watch yourself carefully. And if you do stumble and get into the sin of compromise, confess it and forsake it.

Ephesians 2, the famous scripture. Uh, in fact, look at verse, uh, five while we're here. "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ. By grace you are saved." Uh, past action, and you weren't consulted once. This took place, uh, back in Calvary's cross. But of course, you don't receive eternal life until you receive Christ, which takes place in time, not before time. "And raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." That's a beautiful thought. We're physically on the earth, suffering and struggling in our fallen bodies, uh, with the old sin nature. Paul says, "I am present tense a chief of sinners. What I don't want to do, I do. And what I want to do, I don't do." What a paradox, but it's true. And in spite of what's going on down here, up there, it's all perfect. Amen.

Uh, 8. "For by grace are you saved through faith." This is the components of your salvation. For by grace are you saved by faith. Going back to Acts chapter 15, faith in Christ as a person, but what he did for you on Calvary's cross. You weren't there. You didn't see it. But you believe it by faith. You take it by faith. That's all you can do. And God says, "Faith is a child." I'll accept it. Uh, some bring forth, you know, fruits of 30fold, 60fold, 100fold, so on and so forth. Your fruit post your salvation will differ. But if you like a child, or have a tiny bit of faith as a, as a mustard seed, God will accept that.

"For by grace are you saved through faith and not not of yourselves." Not of yourselves. In spite of yourself. Baptism, no. Church membership, no. Uh, lordship, salvation, no. Fasting, tithing, no. Uh, giving up this or that? No. No. No. No. No. And no. "It is a gift of God, not of works." Is that clear? "Lest any man should boast." That knocks out the perseverance of the saints. Don't make the Calvinist view. If you're truly elect, you're going to persevere. You may not do that crowd in Corinthians didn't persevere, did they? There's a scripture says, uh, there's a sin unto death. Look at old, uh, old Solomon in the Old Testament. Wasn't even 60 when he died. He wasn't living a righteous life, was he? Abraham back in Genesis. Look at his life with concubines, children with his concubines. And he's called a friend of God, isn't he? Back in the Old Testament. I believe he is. Once God gives you his righteousness, he doesn't reverse it. Doesn't, uh, uh, he doesn't, uh, rescind it. He doesn't play games with his creation.

Now, other gods do that. I'm told in Islam that a bad Muslim can go to hell, I mean, a good Muslim can go to hell for a period of time before going into paradise. What a, what a strange doctrine. It sounds like purgatory, doesn't it? And other religions have all sorts of strange beliefs. Reincarnation. If you live a bad life, you come back as a rat. In the next, "Not of works, lest any man should boast." That shuts down all of your works-based systems. JWs, Mormons, uh, the Catholic view, the Orthodox view, high, the high Anglican view, the old Tridentine Mass, which is a big thing in the US at the moment. Bring back the Tridentine Mass. They say when the priest has his back to the, the congregants, and the Mass is said in Latin, and there's no altar girls. That's a real problem for the Catholics. And there's no altar rails. You have to kneel and open your mouth and have the wafer put onto your tongue. You can't use your hands to receive the Eucharist.

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works." Okay, they do come, but not before yourself, not, not before you're saved, post your salvation, "which God, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." So there's your works. And here's the truth. If you are saved, you're saved by grace through faith, plus nothing. Work yourself to death, people. If you want to do that, work yourself to death. The late Ravenhill said, uh, "Divorce yourself from the world. Uh, burn yourself out. Be dead by 50. Get five crowns, four crowns, three crowns, but your salvation is fixed regardless of whatever you do." Your standing and state are never the same. Service and salvation are never the same. You can't improve on your justification.

Now, in the Church of Rome, they have this progressive justification going back to infusion, uh, uh, baptism, uh, confirmation, uh, first communion. That's the process of justification. It's ongoing. Now, we say justification is a one-off act. We say sanctification is ongoing. Some are holier than others. Some will give their lives, uh, for the, for the Lord. Go back through church history. Read about Fox's Book of Martyrs. Some of the greats who died for their faith, and, and still are in parts of the world today. That's their sanctification. They have different levels of faith. And some faith, some are given a, some are given different levels of faith. That's why faith is, uh, referred to as a gift in, uh, first Corinthians. We have a general faith for grace. He's saved through faith. But some of our brethren have greater levels of faith. They go to Africa, they die in Africa. Or they go to the Middle East, they die in the Middle East, or wherever it may be in the world, they die on the mission fields. They have a gift, a martyr's, martyred baptism, basically. And they, their faith is, is stronger than ours. Uh, Brainerd, good example in the 18th century, dead before 30. What a great, a great example. Calvinist, yes, I know. I got a small book about him on Amazon. But what a great man. Dead before the age of 30. He lived a tough life. And other great people through the dark, through, through the dark ages into the Philadelphia church from 1700 into 1900. So you are called unto good works as your works. Uh, but at the same time, you have to yield to the Holy Ghost to use those good works. And if you don't yield to the Holy Ghost, there'll be no good works, basically.

Let's check the. Am I back on the line? Back online. I think I'm still alive, aren't I? There was a break in the line just then. Uh, I don't expect guys like Dier or Shimone to repent. They're too far gone, I would imagine. But they're saying that Satars did repent and he got right. But this video is really for their disciples. Uh, that's the idea, of course. Uh, see now. Uh, but there's pressure on Wood now to put his cards on the table and, uh, take a stand. And that's good.

They have to be more consistent and get the gospel out. Uh, what's this now? This is the second time I've heard you talk about the three C's. Yeah. Catholicism, Calvinism, Charismania. Uh, in my own apologetic study, I realize you need to be able to refute the three C's as a Bible person. You do. And be consistent as well. Uh, don't just pick the battles you want to take on. Fight them all. Quite honestly, uh, blessings to you, my dear brother in Minnesota, Andrew. Hope you, hope you and your family are well. Hope your wife is doing better as well. The feelings sort of touchy-touchy. Whereas the Catholics, they got their relics, they got their traditions, and they're very proud of that, very proud of that. Uh, the Unite in the Kingdom march in London is a Catholic event tomorrow. Yes, a net to catch ignorant heathens into becoming fake Christians. Yeah, I hear you, Jane. Uh, Tommy Robinson, I'll be there tomorrow, won't he? And Bob the Builder from Speaker's Corner. And I see the apostate, what's his name, uh, the apostate, uh, atheist guy works with, who works with David Wood, he's over here at the moment in the UK. Uh, what's the guy's name? And here's the thing, if you call these people out, they call you a sectarian. Uh, the old ad hominem, of course. But, uh, we are, uh, we are the people of the Lord. Calvinists believe, Sherry says, eternal security is based on a false premise because they believe you are one of the chosen ones. No free will. True. They also say that free will is contaminated and therefore you are bound to sin. Uh, that's what Luther taught. You read a book on, uh, free will. Uh, or Calvinists hold to that, that your free will as able to find it is limited or heavily restricted. Thing is, you are, you were dead in your trespasses and sins. Ephesians 2, verse one, until God made you alive. But you're not a corpse. An unsaved man or woman can still, uh, deal with right or wrong, good or evil. They're not completely depraved in that situation. So, it's a bit of a straw man.

And I've already, I think, I think I gave that scripture earlier on anyway. But it's true. You got saved by faith, not the law. And the best you can do is still no good for anybody. Uh, all you can do is rest in Christ, finished work on the cross. Uh, yeah. The author, Bros, has mastered the tactic of audience capture. Uh, the man of speech goes against James 1:26. They, you basically, it's just, it's just ad hominem attacks and, uh, using big terms to sort of impress the ignorant. But, uh, I look at the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church as no different to, uh, Jesus's day. Basically, you know, "We won't have this king. We won't have this man to reign over us. We have Caesar as our king. We're not born of fornication." That kind of arrogance, you know. "We go to Abraham. Abraham is our, is our man. Moses is our man. We're, we're Moses' disciples." And same with the Catholic Church. You know, "Peter's our first pope." Such, [music] arrogance. Then, of course, the Lord said, "If you believe I am, you die in your sins." Just cuts through it.

Uh, with the falling away, will the falling away be from Constantine's reign onwards? Can't even, can't say it. Would, with the falling away be from Constantine's reign onward? Paul says in second Thessalonians, "Now, uh, doth the mystery already work." So, in Paul's day, the church was already falling into the sin of apostasy in Paul's day. That the gates of hell will not prevail against a church. And in every generation, you'll have a faithful remnant who will always hold out and be a light. But, uh, the sin of apostasy was already taking place in Paul's day.

What if a Christian backslides into horrible sin? All unrighteousness is sin. Okay, all unrighteousness is sin. Months or years, would he or she still be saved? Yes, because he was already saved to start with. Anybody who's been saved more than six months, if, if they're honest with themselves, know how wicked they are. If you don't believe me, just speak to your spouse sometime, or someone close to you. Uh, brother, good point. But can you provide your fruit receipts so that I can accept your arguments are valid? Yeah, I don't think so. Uh, fruits, the fruits in every Christian will be different. My fruits will be different to yours, and yours will be different to mine. Thankfully, uh, our, uh, our, uh, day of judgment is with the judgment of the Christ. And Paul speaks about how no man judges him. He's spiritual. Uh, so again, people's fruits will be subjective. And even that doesn't really prove much. You may have a good season or a bad season. You may be flying high one day and shot down the next. It's just how it goes. I mean, look about, look in the Old Testament. Look at Elijah, for example. He takes care of all those Baalites, and he's riding high. And then, uh, Ahab's wife comes along, Jezebel, and says, "Kill him." He falls apart like a baby. He says, "Lord, kill me. I can't live anymore." And he runs, you know, away. And he's feeling aside from himself. He had a real hard fall. Now, his fruit was good pre the arrival of, of, uh, of Jezebel, but once she arrived with death threats, he fell apart. Going back to feelings are subjective, and most of the time they mean nothing at all. I'm not a hamster designed for the hamster wheel. I'm a human being dependent on my Savior. Amen. Not myself. Jesus Christ died for all your sins. Yep. You can't go to hell. Uh, you can't go to hell. Something, can't you can't go to hell for your sins. Period. He's paid for all your sins. And, uh, you can't improve on that. If someone's been kidnapped and there's a ransom put out, and the ransom is paid, you release. Uh, if one of the sheep goes astray, the, uh, the shepherd, Lord Jesus Christ, goes looking for the, the wandering sheep to bring such back to the fold. But of course, it's the Lord's job, not ours.

Daydreamer says, "Michael, you know Jeffrey Dahmer, he got saved before he died." He did. And he was killed in prison. The, he was murdered in prison. In fact, he was murdered. The, uh, the warden allowed a black, uh, Muhammadan to go in and kill him, beaten to death. He was about to be baptized, uh, before he was murdered. Was reading his Bible. And, uh, there's a good film made about him. It's a pretty powerful film, I have to say. But it does look like he was actually a believer before he died, and he put his faith in Christ. Got baptized after believing. I was reading his Bible. And of course, because of what he did, he was hated in prison, which is unsanctionable, of course. But he was murdered, which is not acceptable. And, uh, I've always thought that people like him and Sam, son of Sam, and others from that, uh, period of time, who have come to faith in Christ, if it's genuine, and I hope it is, they are just as saved as you and I. Having hatred in your hearts makes you a murderer. How can something unholy enter heaven? Of course, you're not holy, are you? God makes you holy. And it's true. Having any kind of hatred in your heart turns you into a murderer. Uh, lust into an adulterer. And first, Romans chapter one, Paul lists a load of sins. And he says, "These people are guilty of death." And some of those sins are not sexual sins. Feelings of unbelief, ungrateful, implacable, unmerciful, so on and so forth. The Bible's laid out in such a way that you can't, you can't escape the judgments. All unrighteousness is sin. James says, "Break one of the laws, uh, you've broken all of the law." Or one of the command, one, one of the commandments, you've broken all the commandments. Just breach one part of the law, and you've broken all of the law.

Uh, what about those who make false professions that think they're saved? You've either believed or you haven't. You might say, "I'm believing on Jesus to please my parents or my spouse, but I don't really believe it." Then, of course, you're still lost. You're going to go to hell. But if you believed on him sincerely, then you're saved. So, this false profession or false convert, if that's the case, you know, you, you confess Christ to please somebody else, but don't really believe it. You're lost. You have to receive him to be fully persuaded. You either love your wife or your husband, or you don't. It's really as simple as that. And you either love the Lord Jesus Christ and receive him as a savior, or you don't. It's as simple as that.

Honestly, after World War II, there was a lot of, uh, lot of soul-searching in Japan and Germany. And there was, there was an American, uh, chaplain whose name escapes me, and he wrote a book. It was called, "I Was a Nüremberg Chaplain." It's on Amazon. "I Was a Nüremberg Chaplain." And he sat down with a lot of top Nazis, and quite a few got saved before they went to, uh, before they were hung. Some didn't hang. Some went on into the 50s and 60s. In Japan, there were a good number of Japanese, uh, prisoners of war who also, uh, got saved. And there's a great, there's a great story of a Japanese, uh, concentration camp guard, and they did terrible things to Australian and British and some American soldiers. And after World War II, uh, one of those camp, uh, guards was, uh, reunited with one of his victims, and he said, "I'm so sorry. I'm now a born-again Christian. Please forgive me." A lot of cuddles and kisses, a lot of, you know, emotional, uh, conversations took place. So, those guys got saved, some of them, after World War II. And you won't get much more depraved than World War II, what those Nazis did. And in fact, in Japan, it was worse than it was in Germany. The Japanese, the Japanese are more brutal because in Japan there was no Geneva Convention. Uh, the saved stay saved, but enjoy. That security or not can fluctuate, as in it can be done according to your faith. So again, salvation is built into the, eternal security is built into the gospel. Uh, you're kept saved unto the day of redemption. And God will not lose any of his sheep. Going back to that one that strays, he'll come look for that, uh, sheep. So if you think you can lose your salvation, you must have a very low view of, uh, of the Lord.

No institution, no institution can save you. No church can save you. This is true. That's already been said. I know. I'm concerned about false revivals deceiving many. Yes, there are many false revivals. Uh, you can't do much about that. A lot of that is flesh-related, people making, making recommitments. And also the sinner's prayer business. A lot of these people did the sinner's prayer, and of course, they trust in their prayer, not in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. You're told to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Uh, you're not told to pray a prayer to be saved. A lot of these revivals that you see, it's the same crowd going forward. John Ankerberg speaks about this. He went, he goes all over America, and he says when he goes to, when he goes around America giving talks, you know, in churches here and there, it's the same crowd going forward every year, you know, to receive Christ again and again and again and again and again. That's a problem. That's one of the problems I have with the sinner's prayer. It's not scriptural. Uh, you cannot live in all sin and be saved, no matter if you say before or not. You would say, or Baptist theology is never safe to begin. Not necessarily. Again, go back to the Old Testament. Uh, Lot was a wicked man. He offered his daughters to the Sodomites. He's in a cave with his two daughters. And of course, they get, he gets, they fall pregnant due to his, uh, due to, um, the way he's been in Sodom. He's basically contaminated, contaminated his children. But he was a saved man. There's different levels of, of habitable sin. It's not just sexual sins. If you don't forgive, if you don't love your brethren, if you don't care for the flock, if you don't love the Lord like you should, read the Bible like you should, or have a good relationship with the Lord, that's, that's also a habitable disobedience and sin. Doesn't mean you're not saved. It means you are a backsliding Christian. You're carnal. That crowd over in Corinth wouldn't repent. They were suing each other in court, enjoying sexual immorality. One guy had his father's, uh, wife, and Paul says, "Some of you are weak, some of you are sickly, and some of you sleep." So, no, you can backslide and stay in that situation, be miserable, and God will either kill you and bring you home early, or just leave you as you are and let you suffer the consequences of your backsliding life. So that view is slightly Calvinistic, and I disagree with it. You should confess your sins. Uh, first John 1 says you should do. Uh, but, uh, you get into sin of apostasy and, uh, heresy, which I've already talked about. If you are a heretic or an apostate, it doesn't mean you're lost because you weren't always a heretic or apostate. That's the whole point. You can drift into that and stay in that situation. There's examples in the Old Testament of God's people doing all sorts of wicked things, and they all just killed them. I mean, Samson, for example, he was carnal, and in the end, he lost his eyes and he killed himself and the Philistines, but he was a saved man. Going back to Hebrews chapter 11. So again, man looks at appearance. God looks in the heart. If you're not careful, you can start judging people's salvation, how they live. Doesn't help because you don't know who's saved. Only you know you're saved. The Lord and the devil. No one else knows for absolute certain who is saved or who isn't saved.

God rejected Cain's produce, represented his works. Abel was a cause of the blood, going back to the blood of Christ, without which we can't be saved. Catholics and also Brass hate the fact that most influential early church fathers, Augustine, held to double predestination according to Romans. Yeah. Calvin and Luther thought the world of Augustine. And ironically, Augustine would hate Protestants. He would say, "If you haven't got Mary as your mother, you haven't got the church." As, uh, how does he work now? If you haven't got Mary, if you haven't got, if you haven't got Mary as your mother, you haven't got the church. I can't remember says how he words it. Basically, the belief would be that if you don't have Mary as your mother and you don't pray to her via the intercessor of the saints, you haven't got the church, and therefore you haven't got salvation. There's no salvation outside the Catholic Church. Basically, that's what Augustine taught. And it's kind of ironic that people like Luther and Calvin thought the world of him, and he was a killer Augustine. I mean, he upheld capital punishment for heretics like yours truly. So, I'm not particularly keen on on Augustine. Uh, double predestination. Yes. Uh, going back to the Calvinist view, which, uh, Calvin speaks about in his, uh, in his Institutes. And I think Luther says he calls Augustine his revered father. Both Luther and Calvin were besotted, just besotted with with Augustine. And I don't see much of his works is worth reading, quite honestly.

What happens if you have only faith and no works? We like most Christians, just immaterial. Just, just immaterial, basically. You're just, uh, inadequate. You're not doing much for the Lord. Most Christians don't do much for the Lord. Most Christians that get saved do nothing for the Lord. It's like a sort of secret service, uh, kind of religion. They're saved. They believed on the Christ, but they won't open their mouths. Look, look at, look at someone like, uh, uh, uh, Nicodemus. He's found three times in John's gospel, and it took three years, three and a half years for the guy to open his mouth and speak up for Christ. Most Christians don't want to do much for the Lord. They go to church sometimes, read the Bible occasionally, witness, not really. Very few Christians will do much for the Lord. It's just how it is. Uh, so their works are not really, their works are not particularly prevalent. Uh, but their faith will save them if it's, if they're based on Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Uh, pick up their cross and follow him. That's service, not salvation, of course. And, uh, look, who really lives for the Lord? Who really lives a crucified life? Let's be honest with ourselves. Let's not be too self-righteous. I'm sure I could do more. I'm sure you, I'm sure you could do more as well. Uh, religion plucks scripture out of context. They have no foundation because they have not believed. They don't realize how unrighteous they truly are, else they would believe in Jesus alone. But they have, they have, they have a faith in Jesus, but it's not all they're hoping. They got Jesus there. What of course, they got Mary, of course, and the scripture and the traditions, like the, like the Pharisees. They had the Old Testament, definitely. I would quote it, but didn't really believe it. You know, they searched the scriptures, and Christ said, "You know, you search the scriptures, and in them they testify of me." But the problem was, they didn't believe the scriptures. They read the scriptures, but didn't believe the scriptures. This is the problem with most religious people. They don't believe the scriptures. They read them. They don't believe them. You know, you got to be a doer of the word of God, not just a hearer. Otherwise, you're not going to grow. Just going to be like, just existing. You won't be much of a Christian. Quite honestly, you get out what you put in.

And he says, "Join a church, get baptized, speak in tongues." No, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, thou shalt be saved." My voice is going now. Uh, Brian says, "What about the faith of those who say, Lord, Lord, we did this. Uh, we did not, Lord, Lord, Lord, did we not do this, and so forth?" Those people weren't saved to begin with. Christ says, "I never, I never knew you." "I never knew you apart from me." "Works of iniquity." They knew of the Lord, but didn't know him personally. And, uh, sadly for them, Christ didn't even know them to start with. They were never his to begin with. Apparently, also to get baptized in the EO, Eastern Orthodox Church, they charge, I think it's £500. Uh, £500. Can you imagine that? But that's quite normal, I believe, in a lot of these religions. They baptize, they, they charge for baptisms. They charge for, uh, weddings, funerals. Yeah, it's, uh, it's a racket. Quite honestly, every church has an overhead, as would a ministry, but to charge £500. I baptize people. I wouldn't charge a penny. Blessing to Alex, my dear brother in, uh, former, uh, Orthodox. Every church needs money, but to charge that kind of money for baptism, look, just go to your local, uh, your local river and baptize a brother or sister in the Lord. Just do it as, you know, just do it for the love. No need to get paid for that. I can't, I can't fathom these people sometimes. I really can't. But again, that goes back to organized religion. They want to charge what they do. Uh, this, these groups also take tithes, which is not scripture for today. If you want to, uh, support a ministry, or fellowship, it's one thing.
