Hey everybody, we are with Shane Sterling. He's 53 years old and many times gets mistaken for decades younger today. He's going to share the exact habits that keep him aging backwards and a lot of them are going to surprise you guys. So, let's hop into it.
Hey Shane, how's it going?
Hello Jillian. Thank you so much for having me on this video. I'm looking forward to talking about this topic. I'm very passionate about my health and my lifestyle. And what I've been doing over the last 35 years has really made a drastic impact on the way I've aged compared to people my age. And I see people my age and I'm amazed that they look like elderly people. And so I have some incredible tips and secrets to share on this video.
Yeah. We're going to share your top 10. So you gave me the list in advance and these are amazing. Super fascinating. I love all of them. I've decided I'm going to live by these, most of them. And so we're going to get into these 10. And also what inspired me to do this? I'll put it on the screen right now. I saw when I was scrolling on Instagram the other day a side-by-side of the liver king who's carnivore and Chef Babette who's actually now 75 years old and she's a vegan. And it's just such a stark difference. And I think I know these are this is these are considered two extremes, but the foods can do so much and there's so many other things. So let's hop into it. We have your top 10.
So number one, trust the universe.
Yeah, absolutely. So having a sense of trust is really critical for our sense of spiritual well-being and that actually will reduce stress and cortisol levels in the body. It's actually shown and proven in studies that having a sense of trust of the universe really is anti-aging. So, this is something that I have naturally and everybody should have it because we're stressed out that we're not going to be able to survive, that we're not going to have enough money to pay bills. But that's all fabricated. That's all man-made. You know, when it really comes down to it, we are born perfect and whole of the universe. You know, the birds don't have to worry about if they can pay the bills, and so we shouldn't either. So, when we truly deeply surrender, we can have profound healing. It it brings a well and a sense of eternal uh trust and well-being that really really makes a a difference for how we age. People who are pessimistic or fearful or scared, those are the people that are going to suffer the most and age because they're suffering on the inside. So, harboring and nurturing and cultivating a trust, a deep sense of trust and surrender is absolutely key. And I actually talk to this uh to to my clients a lot about this. is I have juice fast clients. I help people juice fast a lot and you know I get people who have diseases or who are overweight and I was just talking to a client yesterday and she was telling me you know I'm 180 lbs and I'm 5'2 and I was she was like well what do I need to do first and I said okay first thing to heal your body we're going to go through an amazing transformation is to trust and surrender when you feel fearful trust and surrender when you don't know if this is going to work. Trust and surrender. When you hear naysayers online talking bad about a plant-based diet, talking bad about juice fasting, you trust. You surrender to God's perfect design for us. The fruits and the vegetables grow on the trees, the vine, the soil, grow in the sun. The sunlight has energy. It has codes for us that activate our DNA and help our genes express properly. So true anti-aging comes from that deep surrender and trust and trusting that raw fruits and vegetables are perfect for us. Because after all, I'm a raw vegan going on 10 years now coming up on I'll be actually nine years in just a month.
That's incredible. Almost a whole decade eating raw vegan.
Well, okay, before we get into that, because I know that's one of your points, I love this. I think this is really anti-aging because I think if we're resisting and we're not trusting the universe and we're not going with the flow. It does show on us, right? All the stress that can build up inside of us. So sometimes though it's easier said than done to just trust the universe. Is there any practice you can recommend or anything like say we're going through a big crisis like right now I'm going through something really big in my life with you know both my parents passed away. one of them died in the middle of a really really bad divorce and now I'm taking that on and it's just the most insane situation I've ever been a part of in my whole existence.
And so like sometimes it's just so hard to trust the universe like. What do we do in these crisises in these hard times?
Hey, I've been through lots of crisises in my life. I've been through ups and downs. I have struggled. I have suffered. I have been in extreme situations of lack and poverty and homeless and you know I've been through it. You know, so what I think is to remember that we're not here to be comfortable. We're here to grow. We're here to learn. And the universe is going to provide situations for us to learn our lessons and to become the best version of ourselves. Whether we want it or not, that's what's going to happen. So we have to remind ourselves when things are seemingly negative or challenging or stressful, that's the time to say, "Hey, I need this. This is showing me part of myself that maybe I forgot. This is showing me what I'm made of and what I'm capable of. And ultimately, if we have something that we're applying ourselves to that's bigger than ourselves, like practice in the world of service, you know, then these lessons make us better make it make us better at being of service and helping others and contributing to the evolution of humanity. But if we're just always concerned about ourselves and locked in our own, you know, self- concerns, things get bad quick. So, we have to open up our perspective, realize there's a big time horizon. Our life is a contributing factor to the evolution of humanity. If we need to be forged in the fire of experience, struggle and suffering and strife and and all of these experiences, then that's going to make us better and it's going to absolutely lead to the best version of humanity in the future. That's what's happening. So, we have to be present. You know, ultimately mindfulness and presence is what brings us back. Mindfulness and presence is a key to anti-aging. And when you're really present and mindful and you feel connected, you know that everything's going to work out for you. You know, okay, this is a challenge now. This is an opportunity for me to become the best version of myself. I'm going to do it. I got this. I can do it. You know, trust the universe. Trust God's plan for us. That's what we got to do.
Okay. Good advice, Shane. And number two, whole foods plant-based diet. A whole foods plant-based diet for 36 years.
Yeah, absolutely. So, I went vegan when I was 17 years old in 1990. The single most important decision I ever made in my life. I went vegan for the animals and I really felt like I needed to contribute something on this planet to have control of like helping make this world a better place. I saw animal agriculture and said, "Oh, that's a no no. We can't treat other sentient living beings like that." So, I went vegan for the animals. And of course, I've had an incredible learning journey, an incredible awakening journey of the health benefits and the anti-aging benefits of eating plant-based. Now, some people, you know, say you can't be healthy and be plant-based, but nothing could be further from the truth. Actually, plant-based diet lightens the burden on our body. It actually cleans the cells. It cleans the blood and the bowels and the lymph. It'll trim us down and make us more lean. And ultimately being lean by eating a plant-based diet is more in alignment with our higher self. Our higher self looks a certain way. If you close your eyes and visualize your higher self, your higher self is lean, you know. So 80% of Americans are walking around, you know, with a lot of extra body fat and that's not in alignment with our higher self. A whole food plant-based diet instantly gets us lean, gets us into alignment. And I've learned this over the years. Also, eating raw foods is the key to sustaining a whole food plant-based diet long term because if you rely heavily on starches like potatoes and breads and pasta like a traditional cooked vegan diet, it's acid forming to the body, it also is spikes the insulin. So, you can gain weight and actually you can be quite unhealthy on a regular cooked vegan diet. This is why we have to be very mindful of a whole food plant-based diet, primarily raw. We should be eating 80% of our calories from raw food if we want optimal health.
And this is what I've learned over the years. So, 36 years whole food plant-based. And every time I, you know, fall off or have animal products again, I'm reminded I'm reminded these are not foods. They don't taste good. They're aggravating to the body, causes inflammation, causes an immune response, causes constipation in the bowels. I mean, they're just not foods for humans. But we're grown, we're raised on these foods, and we forget that we're actually more adapted to eating plants. It's really worth the transition. It's worth learning how to eat whole food plant-based. It's worth the time and the effort and the energy. And it's worth the detox process cuz if you're coming from a standard American diet or if you're coming from steak dinners, you're going to go through a detox and it's going to be hard and it's going to challenge you. But ultimately, that challenge is going to birth a new version of yourself that is the highest potential for your life on this planet. It's going to make you clearer, more aligned, more spiritually activated, more mindful.
More present, the things that we truly need to trust in the universe, too. And actually, eating plant-based really helps us trust the universe.
You know, right? Eating plant-based is the ultimate mindful practice that just aligns us with that truth.
It really does. And I didn't realize that until I went like plant-based raw. And okay, for anybody who doesn't know, we did a what you eat in a day video cuz a lot of people like to see that. Like you talk about the raw foods, talk about the raw, but they want to see what are you eating. So I'll put that down below for anybody who wants to catch that. And I just want to ask too, like do you think you would look this good or have this energy or just be so well spoken or so connected if you hadn't shifted your diet years and years ago? I'm guessing no based on what you said, but like do you think it'd be a big difference in how you'd look right now and everything if you kept up eating how you used to eat when you were younger?
Actually, the uh there's a picture of me right before I went raw vegan, and that is quite telling the and I often do a side by side because it's absolutely astounding. I looked like a middle-aged man when I went raw vegan in my mid-40s. I honestly looked like every other middle-aged man. My my skin was pale and I had kind of a lumpiness and I had my extra creases and my nose was a little more bulbous and just a little more plump looking. Like those cooked foods just cause inflammation and weight gain so easily, so naturally. You just look older. You just look more overweight. You know, it just robs you of that youthful origin. You know, like eating raw has really revived that original part of myself that was lost. You know, the the childlike part of myself, the youthful energy and vitality. Eating raw is just it erases decades of harsh food and harsh living on our body. Just erases it. Brings us right back into alignment.
So, I looked like a middle-aged man when I went raw vegan. And I would say I went through a detox process. The first few years were pretty rough. You know, I had dark circles under my eyes and I had lost a lot of weight. I got really skinny, became underweight. But naturally, after about 3 years eating raw, the weight started to come back on. My skin started to glow. I started to just absolutely transform automatically, naturally, just by staying consistent. So you go through that process, the detox and then you emerge out the other side transformed and healthy and beautiful and you get your body back and you get your mind back and you get yourself back. It's like reclaiming our power from the food corporations that have hijacked us.
Yeah. You know, we're born into this world with marketing and advertising to eat animal products and processed foods. So we get to claim our power back. It's incredible.
True. Well, say somebody's like, "Okay, I want to eat more raw, but it's too much for me to do all raw." What would you say if they're like absolutely not? What in your mind are there any cooked foods that are healthy? If they're like, I'm for sure going to eat cooked. What are some of the cooked foods that you think are like still going to age them well and be good on their system?
Yeah. So, aging well comes down to a light load on the system. You want to stay away from heavy dense foods. You want to stay away from cooked oils. You want to stay away from cooked starches really. So people think potatoes are healthy, but unfortunately potatoes are acid forming to the body. So I'm not a big fan of potatoes. Although steamed starchy vegetables are going to be the least problematic of all the cooked foods, I'd say. So like broccoli and sweet potatoes and things like that are going to be the best cooked foods. You know, maybe even some rice or quinoa.
But we should really strive for about 80% of our calories from raw foods. So, if you were to take a moment to calculate your daily food intake and try it out and see what 80% of your food from raw foods looked like, that would be highly educational. And I recommend that for everybody. Give yourself 80% raw living foods, 80% of your calories.
And that is so transformative to experience that. Just that alone can reduce the signs of aging. It'll bring color back to your skin. It'll reduce the fine lines and wrinkles in your skin just to have that extra raw because it's hydrating. It's highly hydrating. It's actually extra minerals too that are not denatured from the cooking process. So raw minerals and the hormones in the raw foods and there's oxygen in the raw foods and all those phytonutrients that are lost to cooking. So those phytonutrients are actually what makes our body strong and resilient and brings that vitality out in your skin and in your eyes. You can see it from those phytonutrients. And of course, let's not forget enzymes. Enzymes are, you know, totally destroyed when we cook our food, but they're so important. Enzymes are key for every metabolic process of the body from elimination to the reproduction of cells and the reproduction of our DNA. So, if you want the best chance of aging well, you got to have high enzyme foods. High- enzyme foods are raw fruits and vegetables.
That's what it is. In fact, there's extra high enzyme foods like pineapple and papaya. I always strive for papaya whenever I can. Like, I go to the store and I check the papayas every single day because I know those high enzyme foods make my body happy.
So, okay, that's what we want to do. Uh really just focus on 80% of your calories to start. If you if you're skeptical, give it a try. Do a week 80% raw. I think you'll experience the benefits. It'll blow your mind what's possible.
True. Okay. Number three, you started juicing at 17, which what year was that? Because that's pretty young because juicing's become such a huge thing. I feel like the last 10 years.
Yeah. Well, I ju started juicing at 17. That was 1990.
Wow. So, I got a juicer for Christmas. I think it was Christmas or my birthday. I got a juicer. My dad bought it for me and I started juicing. So, I would make um parsley juice. That was one of my favorites because the parsley juice would make me kind of tingly and as a teenager I' I'd like the feeling. I'd get a little like, you know, buzz from it. So, I got really into juicing parsley, believe it or not. And so, I'd make green juices with parsley. And you know, that was um incredible as a 17-year-old because for one, you're introducing all of the all of the fiber into the body for the microbiome. You're changing the microbiome with the phytonutrients coming in from the juices and the high enzymes like that. So, I would feel really good when I'd have juices. And then that would lead me to want to be healthier and healthier. So actually at 17 I was whole food plant-based only. I did not eat any processed food. There was some years in there when I was just first going vegan where I didn't eat potato chips or Oreos or drink Coca-Cola or any of those vegan foods. I strictly stuck with whole food only and I would make my own nutmilks at home in my blender. And I got really into it. And I didn't know about raw at the time, but just at 17, I had this big awakening to treating our body right, eating whole food only. And that was my first adventure into whole food, veganism, and then learning about raw. I started to get the first thoughts of of raw food coming to me.
So, it was interesting because I actually grew a garden at that time. Uh, I was living in this little cabin in Northern California where I used to live at that time and I was growing a garden and I would grow these beautiful vegetables and then I'd take them inside and I'd cook them and the beauty of the vegetable, the life force in the vegetable would be gone and I'd put it on my plate cooked and I'd be like, "Wait a second, it was just so beautiful and vibrant in the garden and now it's like this brown slop on my plate." And so that was the first time I started to really awaken to the life force in food. If we want to have life force, we just got to eat the life force, you know, sunlight energy. It's so vibrant and beautiful, you know. So when you cook a zucchini, it goes from being alive and beautiful and juicy to being, you know, dead and brown and soggy. So that kind of says it all.
So juicing is incredible and it's changed my life. And I've been a professional juice fast coach for almost 10 years.
Mh. And I help people go through that transformation. And I think juicing is the number one thing everybody should do. Don't even try raw foods. Juice first. That's what I did. I went raw vegan by starting with a juice fast. Clean out your gut. You know, go as long as it takes to empty the food tube completely. Remove all of the bofilm and plaque and impacted fecal matter out of your bowels. You do that one time all the way, it'll change your life.
And what would you say is your favorite juice? Or is there like an anti-aging juice in your mind?
Um, yeah, primarily green juices because I don't drink um fruit juices because I eat my fruit. Now, a juice fast is different. If you're going to do a juice fast, I have a protocol that does call for specific high enzyme fruit juices because it helps remove plaque and bofilm out of the bowels. So, when we're juice fasting, we actually need fruit juice for calories and the detoxification benefits. But if we're eating raw vegan, we don't need to drink drink fruit juice. We should just eat the fruit whole because there's more benefits from eating fruit whole. I have entire meals of fruit. Okay? So I'll have instead of having a cooked dinner, I eat just all fruit for dinner. I mean, I've been doing that for years. Uh it's a wonderful wonderful thing. So eat your fruit and so then if you're going to juice, then it's green juice. And parsley and cilantro are key. also lemon and ginger.
So Lucaron's lemon ginger blast is a great one. That's a staple. I think that's probably one of the most anti-aging juices. And just when I was 17, like I said, I got into juicing parsley. And so I would make juice recipes where I could put a lot of parsley in there. And that was something that I noticed even at at 17. And it made me feel so good and it would be so aliveing, invigorating to have that parsley juice.
I agree. Like there's just nothing like a green juice. There's just I don't think anything compares. It's like coffee on another level, but like natural and just 10 times better. So, I agree with you. Okay. I think juicing is amazing, too. Especially the green juices. So, I'm with you on that. And okay, number four.
You avoided sunbathing till you were 40. This is something I wish I did, but I did. I was baking in the tanning beds like twice a day my whole 20s. Okay. So, good for you. So, you avoided sunbathing. So, this is an This is your tip number four. Your secret.
Tip number four. I now I'm not going to tell people to avoid the sun because the sun has incredible benefits. We need sunlight exposure for vitamin D and other amazing benefits. Actually, our body gets energy from the sun. You can actually eat less and lose weight and be lean and be sexy and beautiful by getting more sun. So, I'm not saying to avoid the sun, but when I was younger, I avoided the sun a lot. And it it was partly just my lifestyle. I don't know, maybe intuition. I just thought, you know, my sister would be sunbathing with her friends when I was a kid and I would be like, I'm not going to do that. I'd like run from, you know, from the outside to the inside to avoid the sun. And I was kind of like a new wave, uh, kind of like a goth, you know, kid in my teen years. So, I was into I thought it was cool to avoid the sun.
So, even when I was like 29, I moved to Los Angeles. And I remember I was a photographer at the time. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue photography professionally which worked well for me. I was a professional photographer for 10 years and I would go out to the beach to do shoots and stuff and I would wear like long sleeves and hats to avoid sun exposure. Now having sun exposure is important. So now I lay out and get sun. I make sure I actually am intentional about getting sun but very cautiously. I'm not one of those people that just exposes themselves to UV uh consistently and un just unaware of what you're doing. I'm hyper aware of it because I avoided the sun pretty much until I was 40 years old.
So that says a lot. I mean I think that sun does have aging effects and we have to be careful. In fact, actually um Jillian I did tanning bed once for like a month. I went to the tanning salon to like get UV exposure. It was kind of like the middle of winter and it was cold and I wanted the vitamin D and so and I got like an a I got like a an age spot on my cheek.
No way. Yeah. From going to the tanning bed and it's still there.
Yeah. Wow. Yeah. It's not very, you know, I don't do them now. And it's not natural. It's like obviously the sun is better. I was going to ask you too, I've been watching a lot of Brian Johnson lately. I don't know if you follow him. You know, he's big into anti-aging. And a podcast I watched last night, he says that he goes in the sun in the morning cuz he says that morning sun is really important for our circadian rhythm. And he goes in the sun like later in the day, I think towards the evening or in the evening, like towards the evening, not in the middle hours. So I want to ask you like what do you think about that? And what do you think about Brian? Do you ever follow his stuff?
Yeah, I think it's great. I mean I think that he should eat raw vegan. I mean, um I think his pursuit of health and anti-aging is commendable. I think it's awesome to be aware of that. And of course, he's vegan, but um I think that he would have more color in his skin if he ate raw fruits and vegetables. Raw fruits and vegetables really bring color. People actually somebody said, "You're wearing blush the other day on uh a YouTube video." I don't wear blush. No, it's that people accuse me of wearing makeup all the time because my skin is just clear for somebody my age. And you know, I think that the cooked foods take away the glow in the skin. Even cooked vegan foods, they just do. They just bring it down a notch. If you want the ultimate beauty and radiance in your skin, it's got to be raw. The phytonutrients in the raw foods and the compounds, the polyphenols, you know, help bring the color to the skin. So, that's the one thing Brian Johnson should really do is eat raw vegan and I think he'd have an incredible edge with that.
Okay. Number five, drink. You drank green tea every day for 10 years. So, this is one of your anti-aging secrets. So, I'd love to hear about this.
Yeah, green tea is known for anti-aging benefits. I never drank green tea because I was trying to have anti-aging benefits, but um you know, all through my 20s and 30s, I would drink green tea. And I drank it every single day, like a whole pot of it, every single day for at least 10 years.
Mhm. There's compounds in green tea that are highly beneficial, highly antioxidant to the body. So, it helps the body remove free radical damage. So, you eat a fried, you know, you eat something fried and then there's all the free radicals from the cooked oils. Well, green tea will go and attach to those free radicals and remove them from the body. So green tea actually helps the body stay youthful and young. Now I didn't know that at the time and I wasn't drinking green tea for that purpose, but I've always been into health and I chose green tea instead of coffee or any other type of caffeine. So in my 20s and 30s, I was drinking green tea where all my other friends were drinking coffee and god knows what else.
Well, and quick I just want to interject for a second. The problem that can arise with coffee or a lot of like high caffeine drinks is they can increase a lot of cortisol and adrenaline and those things in the body, right? Which can throw off blood sugars and lots of different things and then can like dry out your skin and accelerate aging, right?
Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. So, coffee is known for being acidic to the body. So, coffee ages you. I see people who are into coffee drinking coffee and you can tell, you know, they have it like it takes the color out of your skin, makes you look a little gray, a little more aged. It does wrinkle you. So, coffee will produce those fine lines around the mouth, you know, and while coffee is delicious and everybody loves it, switch to green tea and you get incredible anti-aging benefits. So, I noticed in my 30s, you know, especially in my 40s then compared to my friends, I wasn't aging the same. like I looked a lot younger than my friends and I was thinking back into my lifestyle habits of what did I do? You know, I avoided the sun for 40 years and drank green tea, a lot of green tea and uh green tea of course has caffeine. So, if you're sensitive to caffeine or don't want caffeine, then green tea is not going to work. But if you are drinking caffeine, you know, and I was in my 20s and 30s, then green tea is a superior choice.
And what do you think about matcha? Do you think that's just as good since it's like green tea kind of in there?
Yeah. Green tea is raw too. Raw. It's not uh cooked or um you know like the other processes to the black tea and chai tea and all that stuff. So green tea is raw. So it fits into the raw vegan lifestyle pretty well.
Okay. And your number six point is you've been raw vegan for nine years. So yeah, clearly this is one of your biggest anti-aging secrets. And I want to hear what you want to say about that. And I want to start with what are you currently eating in a day? What did you eat? What's today look like?
Fruit. Um, well, I had a smoothie uh to start off my day. And I put fats and proteins in my smoothie. So, I'll add ingredients that make it higher fat or protein depending on what I'm trying to go for. Some days I want, you know, less proteins or fats. So, I I adjust my smoothies to give me the macros. So, I'll I'll add some raw vegan protein uh powder, maybe, you know, but I don't add very much of that. If I really want protein, I'll add like hemp seeds. You know, hemp seeds are really high or chia seeds and I pre-oak them and I keep them in the fridge and then I add the chia seeds to the smoothie. And then I also add flax seeds. So, I'll get like a high dose of protein and omega-3s from my smoothie. And then I add fruit, you know, bananas and dates are the foundation of my smoothie. I'll make a berry smoothie. I'll make a green smoothie with, you know, spinach or micro greens. where I'll make a cacao smoothie with cacao and macaroot, which is one of my favorites. So, that's what I had today. And berries. I had um 18 ounces of berries, a big pack of blueberries. That's all I've had today so far.
So, okay, what was the exact smoothie? People are going to be like, I want the exact. If you want to share the one you had today, I know you did your green one on the channel. I'll put that below. But what exactly? Because they want to know exact. They want to look this good. Shane.
Raw vegan for nine years, baby. Okay, so for one, let me just say that raw vegan is optimal for elimination out of the body. You want to anti-age, you want to look better, man, you want to like revive that youthful teenage glow, you got to eat raw because it just removes the toxins. If you're eating high protein or high meat or eggs, those foods are not anti-aging. It's toxic acid to the body, okay? You got to get that out. Clean your body. Fruits and vegetables are very fast through the bowels. So fast bowel transit time is the key to anti-aging. All right? So smoothies, guess what? Fast bowel transit time, really fast. All right? They they go in and out so quick. If you're not all backed up from pizza and burgers, you know, but if you're eating clean, real clean, like raw, then those those foods are going to go through you so quick. That's the key.
So today, um my favorite smoothie that I have most days is a raw cacao maca smoothie. So, okay, I put in bananas and dates as my base. I'll put in a raw vegan protein powder. I like the Garden of Life raw vegan protein powder. I like the way that one tastes, so I'll put in a scoop of that.
Mhm. Then I'll add a few tablespoons of raw cacao, few tablespoons of raw macaroot. Then I'll add in a tablespoon of ashwagandha. I have ashwagandha pretty much every day. I love all the adaptogenic herbs, so I always have them. Okay. And then I'll put in a scoop of Cortiseps, dried Cortisep mushrooms. And then I'll add usually a little scoop of creatine. It's the one, it's like one supplement that I actually do. I don't do a lot of supplements, but creatine is good neurotropic. It like helps keep the mind clear and it's been proven and studied extensively. So that's one I like. Not so much for like the sports effect, which are great because they use it in sports, but I use it for the neurotropic because I'm always like, you know, doing videos and talking with people and and my coaching and working with clients. So, I got to perform at a high level. So, I'll add a scoop creatine in there. And then I will add usually um some minerals like either a pinch of like sea salt or a couple drops of like a mineral drops. I always add minerals into my smoothies. Always. Minerals are the most important thing.
So, I always make sure to add minerals. And then ice and water. I never add milks to my smoothies. I only add water, ice, and water. Top it off, blend it up. So, and it's usually about 650 to 850 calories. 650 to 850 calories to start off my day as a raw vegan.
Okay. And would you say are there like any top three anti-aging foods you think or like top top couple of foods that you think have really helped?
Yeah, I make a lot of videos about this topic actually. Cacao is a highly anti-aging food. I mean, cacao is filled with polyphenols and antioxidants. Cacao is also high in zinc. So, the reason I don't have any gray hair is because I've been taking zinc supplements and eating high zinc foods for for years. So, I zinc is like one of those things that you just need to have. So, um Oh, that's the other thing I forgot to say that I will put uh drops of zinc in my smoothie. That is the other one that I do. Zinc drops. So creatine and like a a dropper full of zinc liquid.
Okay. That's what I do. So also cacao is high in zinc. I'm always going for the zinc rich foods. Another one is sprouted legumes like lentils. I eat a lot of those because they're high in zinc. So I don't have a single gray hair on my head. None at all.
Um and I'm 53. So yeah, when I see Brian Clement at Hypocrates, he said he was talking about how zinc is the most important thing for that, too. I've heard quite a few people say that. And people, you have a great head of hair. Like that's amazing, Shane. And it looks so healthy and shiny and really good.
53, baby. Yeah. That's incredible, right? And so, what else was I going to say? I was going to ask you, too. Okay. A lot of people do think, well, you have had cosmetic surgery. You've had your nose done. You've had this done. You have you get injections and fillers and you use filters in your videos. Is there anything you want to say about that? Because people will comment that, oh, they'll be like, "Oh, well, none of these points matter because you get so much work done."
Oh, yeah. I've heard it all before. For one, I hate doctors. I'd never go to a doctor ever. Really, honestly, I don't go to doctors. I haven't been to a doctor in many years. Even as a kid, I'd go to the doctor. My mom would take me to the doctor and I would like sabotage the doctor's office. I would like take all the things out of the cabinets and I'd throw it in the garbage or something. I always I just hated doctors.
What? I hated doctors. I always thought that doctors were so arrogant. I would never put my life, my body in the hands of a doctor. I just personally would not.
Do you have health insurance or No.
No.
Like nothing. Like not even not if there's an accident or something participate at all.
Knock on wood. There wouldn't be an accident. But not even for like cuz Americans.
So if I broke a bone, I could go and get my bone set or something or they could they can cut and burn and poison. That's all they can do.
So like if something happened, which it wouldn't, I don't want to put that out there. And you had to go in an emergency situation to the hospital, you're going to have to pay the whole bill or you have some sort of insurance in line for that.
No, I have no I have no.
You're like JC put that out there. I only ask cuz I'm from Canada. that's different. Everything's taken care of. But now that I moved here, it's not.
And when I was really stressed out taking care of my parents before they died and I was having some problems, I was just a mess. Not sleeping, just it was a mess. And I went to the hospital one night and then I got the bill and it was $37,000. So that's why, but I had but we luckily had a little bit of insurance in line, so the bill was a lot less. It was still thousands though. It was still I still had to pay thousands. So I was like, whoa. It was a wakeup call to me how different it is in America than where I'm from.
Yep. I mean, for a lot of people, having health insurance is an important thing. I just personally don't. And I think it's part of my trust in the universe thing. Now, my trust in the universe has, you know, kicked my ass in the past and it's also made me the greatest version of myself that I could possibly be. So, my trust in the universe, you know, it's like you trust, you're guided, you go through things that are you're meant to experience. So, I haven't had a reason to have health insurance in my life. So, I don't again um no plastic surgery. I don't do Botox or, you know, people say I have a nose job. No, I was born with this nose and I don't dye my hair at all ever. The last time I dyed my hair was like 16 because I was a punk rocker and I bleached my hair out. You know, this is the last time I ever put hair dye on.
If it went gray, would you dye it or if you lost your hair, would you go to Turkey or wherever and get a hair transplant or no?
That's a good question. And at 53, I have a little, you know, my hair's a little thinner than it used to be when I was younger, but um I don't know. I guess there I don't I don't think so. I'd probably just rock who I am. I I don't think I would. But I I don't know if I was really I think guys look good with gray hair. I don't think it's like, you know, I can see why.
I would not dye my hair. I would not dye my hair. I might consider a hair transplant possibly, but again, it's the doctor thing.
I'm not a guy. If I was and I lost my hair, I would probably consider a transplant because you do see some people do the before and afters and they do look really good.
Well, Matthew McConnA is one. He's he's an actor from Texas where I live and so when he was younger, his hair was real thin. He was like bald on top and now his hair looks great. You know, like 20 years later, his hair looks fantastic. So that's hair replacement surgery.
But again, I don't think surgery is the best. It's like let's support our body. If I'm doing everything I know is possible for anti-aging and keeping my hair and then my hair still falls out, you know, that's genetics. My grandfather on my mom's side completely bald.
And we're supposed to inherit our grandfather's hair genes on our mom's side. Okay. So, when he was in his 50s, completely bald. So, my lifestyle has retained my hair and no gray on top of it. So, that's pretty incredible. Okay. And I think that's the like instead of spending 30 grand on a hair transplant, you know, spend 30 grand on your raw vegan diet.
Food. Exactly. I think in the most case the food does have a big impact like big time. I think some people get lucky because I know my dad, he passed away this year at 74 and he had like next to no gray and like a great head of hair. And then my mom, she liked to dye her hair blonde, like pretty blonde, but if it was grown out like which it did near the end of her cancer and stuff, which she just like oftentimes let it grow out, you' see she had like no gray and she was 67. It was crazy. But I think for most the time like it affects the hair and there's no denying you have an amazing head of hair. Like you could do hair commercials. So it's really good. And okay, number seven.
We did touch on this a little bit. You have cacao every day. Is there anything else you want to expand on with that?
I've had cacao every day for the last probably 10 years. So, you can make up your own mind. Some people are like, "Oh, caffeine with cacao or whatever." I don't know. Make up your own mind. I've personally had cacao every day for the last 10 years. And um I think that it plays a big part. It's high in zinc, like I was saying. So, I mean, and it produces there's tryptophen in in cacao. So, it produces like, you know, serotonin and endorphins in the body. It makes you feel good. So, I don't know. I think cacao's good because it might help you feel a little bit um a little bit of boost and then maybe you can trust the universe better if you have a little bit of cacao. That love feeling like, oh, the univer downsides with it, I think, because my nervous system is super sensitive to stimulants.
So, unfortunately, I can't have it every day like you, but I wish I could. So for people who can, I think it's incredible. I think it's one of the best things on the earth if you can. But for me, it's just it it just makes me have a lot of anxiety after the high and a lot of stress and then I don't sleep. My brain's racing and then coming off of it, I get really moody. So I wish I was like you in that department, though.
Yeah. Well, it's been used as a superfood in the um you know, different cultures, the the Central American cultures for tens of thousands of years. So I mean, it's it's an ancient superfood. And I I truly think it is one of the real superfoods. You know, people say meat or eggs are a superfood. No, that's the opposite. Those foods are toxic to the body, but cacao, I believe, is a true superfood. It's got high polyphenols and antioxidants that just help with anti-aging. It's just
Yeah. And what do you think is your number one tip for thriving as a long-term vegan when people say we need the, you know, amino acids and certain different proteins and things that are in the animal foods? Like, what do you think? Why is there why are you like vibing high, glowing, looking incredible, whereas you do see some people like they're falling apart and some people are like this lifestyle will never work long term. Like what do you think is your like top secret for that?
Um commit all the way. Um the reason people, you know, don't look good on a vegan diet is because they're not invested. They're not invested. They don't care. You know, their friends and their family, you know, bulk at them or try to convince them. So they're in turmoil. They're in conflict. If you're in conflict, yeah, you're going to just feel the detox symptoms and say, "Oh, that doesn't work for me." But if you commit, if you commit fully, you can have anything you want in your life. You can have anything. Full commitment with full trust and surrender. That's how you get it. I trusted and surrendered a vegan diet back when I was 17. I've gone all in. I put all my chips in. No going back. I burnt the boats behind me. No going back.
So, when you do that, there's no other way. Your body adapts and what
I found is the body becomes hyperefficient. Animal products are not a more bioavailable source of protein. That's incorrect. That's a stressful source of protein for the body. It's actually uh natural to get the protein from plants and our body becomes hyperefficient. That's what people don't understand because if you're all toxic from eating animal products your whole life, you're not efficient at absorbing the amino acids in plants. So, you might struggle. But that's why I say start with a juice fast. Clean out your bowels. Clean out the plaque and the bofilm that's inhibiting absorption and utilization of raw food. And then you set the foundation of being raw. Then your body becomes hyperefficient. Even after just 40 days on a juice fast, your body will become hyperefficient and way more get way more protein from plants than you could any other way. And I'm living proof. Living proof. You don't need to eat animals to get protein at all. All protein comes from plants. And we know that all protein comes from plants. Bodies, animals are just assembling machines. Our bodies assemble proteins just like the animals do. So we can eat the basic building blocks and our body will assemble the proteins. We don't need to eat the assembled product to get the protein. You know, our body will do it for us.
Okay. And before we get into number eight, which I think might be my favorite, I just want to say, I've been meaning to ask you this in this interview. What would you say, if you're open to sharing, is the worst thing that's ever happened to you in your whole life? And whether or not during the process you did trust the universe and maybe later on how you saw that that actually ended up being a blessing. Um it not working out how you wanted it to. The most horrible thing that's ever happened to me. Mhm. Or this is like a hot qu like a really intense question. You don't want to answer it too if you don't want to Shane.
All right. I'll be honest. I'll be honest. The most the hor most most horrible thing that ever happened to me was my high school sweetheart and I were together for like almost six years, just about six years. And she left me in a really upsetting and violent way and uh was very very traumatizing for me. So I thought we were going to be together forever. I was totally head over heels in love with her. She bailed on me. She broke my heart so bad. So bad. It was the first time my heart was really truly brutalized. And so I realized though in hindsight that that trauma of losing my my love, the love of my life that really stemmed back to an earlier trauma which was that my parents split up when I was younger and the trauma of the family unit and I found my girlfriend and kind of like clung on to that relationship so I didn't have to face the popping of the family bubble. And I realized that in hindsight. So the trauma actually started earlier. So that made me realize that all the traumas in our lives that we're dealing with, the trauma patterns that repeat over and over in our life have an original source. So that got me really interested in the process of original wounding. Because I did a lot of uh regressive type therapies about that experience, worked with therapists and specific processes like EFT to try to get back to the root of what that trauma really was. And I realized that all of the things that hold us back in our life have a root cause. And original wounding is actually the reason we don't have the results in our life. Why we're fat, why we're sick, why we're not doing our best, why we're not rich. All of the things that we should have are not there because of our original wounding. So that got me really hyperfocused on it. So ultimately, it was a greatest blessing because I've really been able to overcome a lot of my original woundings. I have become hyper aware of it. And so that actually led me on a path to heal my poverty trauma. You know, I've been able to become a millionaire because I was struggling all through my 20s and 30s and even 40s. I didn't It wasn't until I addressed my original wounding that I was able to be in that energy of abundance, attract abundance, provide value and service for others, and have that universal reciprocity happen where what I give is what I get. So, I've lived it firsthand. And it all stems back from my high school sweetheart, the love of my life, breaking my heart brutally.
And now you're glad that happened, right? Now you're in a relationship that's really in alignment. You're really happy together. And that wouldn't be the case if you guys had stayed together, right?
Well, you know what? You know, lost relationships and heartbreak teaches you is how to be a better person, how to be a better partner. And now my partner, her name is Estraa. She's amazing. We're going to be together forever. I just know it. I am so intentional with her. I say things to her. I act in ways to nurture the relationship. I'm intentional about every single thing I do, which makes it the best relationship I've ever had. I love that. Okay. And you were talking about abundance. So, abundance for a second. If somebody's watching and they're not in abundance right now, like say financially, because a lot of people think about money. Say they're not in abundance and they're stressed out about money. What's the number one thing they can do to take themselves into abundance?
Well, practically the number one thing we can do is be of service, be committed out of our mind to helping others. So, we're taught to be self-focused. Like, the lens is on us. Like, how am I going to pay the bills? How am I going to make enough money to get the things I need in life? But what we actually really need to do, that's a distortion. We need to flip the lens around to how can I help? What can I contribute? There are other people struggling with money. How can I make their life better? What can I do to help them? That's the key. And it's a paradox shift from being selffocused like how am I going to survive to how am I going to contribute? That was the big shift that happened for me. That was a before and after internal shift that transformed my life and actually created real tangible wealth for me in my life. My bank account went from zero to over a million dollars in just a few years when I decided that that's what I was going to do. I was going to take the lens completely off myself and turn it around. And I was going to actually try to just be selfless, transparent almost like I'm in service to other people. I'm going to make a difference. I'm going to help because look, I'm going to die someday. What am I going to leave behind? Am I going to just be a selfish person who just always just thought about myself or am I going to leave something behind on this planet like a legacy that's going to matter? So I just got committed to it. And the mechanism that allowed me to do that was parts of selfwork, the abandoned part of myself in my in my youth, the original wounding. I went through a period probably about a year or so where I was really deeply examining my original wounding. I was reading books on it. I was working with a therapist. I was doing classes and courses. I was doing workshops on my original wounding. I wasn't just learning business. I I was learning how to heal my original wound. And that allowed me to get out of my own way, flip the lens around, and make a difference for others. And that has resulted in financial abundance.
I love all that. I agree with you 100%. I've read a lot of books on that, too, where, you know, they say whatever you want, be that. So like you said, you know, which is to the tune of what you're saying with giving service, right? So it's like or if you want love in your life, be love, right? Or if you want a friend, be a friend. And like you said, if you want money, like give money and help people and add service. So I think that's exactly bang on in alignment with like what God would say and what God would want us to do too in every area. So way to go. Yeah. So give what you want to get. The way to thumbnail that or just like you know summarize that which is easy to remember which is give that which you want to receive. If you want to receive money, you got to help other people get money. That's how it works. And giving is the best one of the best parts about life anyway. Giving. I love giving. And number eight, which I love, you have berries every day. I love this because I was born with the last name and I love berries. They're one of my favorite foods. I eat them every day, too. So, you eat berries now every day. This is your number eight secret tip.
Every day berries are such a foundational part of my diet. People, you know, some people might like think it's, you know, the thing to spend money on at the grocery store is like high quality grass-fed beef or chicken or something like that or fish, you know, wild caught salmon. Like that's the high quality thing to spend money on. No, absolutely not. Stock your fridge with berries. Eat entire meals of berries. eat berries for every meal of the day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That's usually what I do. I swear I'll eat I'll eat lunch of just berries. I'll eat dinner of just berries. I'll go through a whole day and just eat mostly berries. Mhm. I prioritize it. I spend money on it. I get the highest quality organic berries. I'll spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on berries in a week.
And do you track how much you spend? Like people often ask on this channel how much I spend. Do you track how much you spend a week on raw food in general or No. Yeah, I do because I put it all on one credit card. All my food expenses are on one card. No way. Wow, that's organized. Yeah, make it easy. I spend about 4,000 a month. But I have earned that. I have decided I was going to have the money to afford the highest quality raw vegan diet. I said, I want to be raw vegan. What can I do to be of service to actually afford this? So, how can I create a business and be of service to others to afford a raw vegan lifestyle? That's what I've done. So, I didn't just have money. I didn't be able to afford the best raw foods because I had money. It was when I decided I was going to commit to eating raw vegan that I had to figure out how to have the money to afford it. So, for me, 4,000 on food every month is seems pretty cheap, really pretty reasonable for what you get. I mean, to me, I think it's the best thing you can spend your money on. Like, there's like no greater health habit in the world pretty much besides exercising is what you eat and what you put inside yourself. I think it's more important than anything that we prioritize that and just the more you invest into that, the bigger the return and the less you'll feel bad about it. Like I never feel bad about spending a lot on good food. I think it's just the most important thing. Like literally, it's like self- loveve. You feel the self-care when you spend money on good quality food.
And I want to say too, sorry, there are ways to do it, even less. You don't have to spend 4,000. And I know you do a lot of lentils. Lentils are really inexpensive, budget friendly way to do things. buying in bulk, buying seasonal. Um, there's lots of different things people can do. Yeah, you don't have to spend 4,000. That's just where I'm at, like you know, now. But you can get a a lot of great food for a lot less if you know how to shop seasonally. And you don't have to buy organic. People always say, you know, everything should be organic. I don't think everything does. You can, you know, peel avocados and pineapples. They don't have to be organic, you know. And I would say focus on like certain meals one week. Don't think, oh, I'm going to make like 15 different raw recipes or like do 15 different things this week. Like something I think keeps things budget friendly if people want to is like, okay, I'm going to focus on like a couple different things this week and then next week I'll switch it up. And I think that can work, too. Yeah, absolutely. I like eating the same thing regularly because that allows me to track my calories and my macros and know what I'm eating and it makes it very simple. So, I'm actually one who eats extremely simple. I just like high quality food. So, I actually will try the berries in the store before I buy them. And if they're not very good, I won't buy them that day or that week. And I'll eat something else. If they're good, if they're fresh, if they're in season, like in the spring, in the fall here in Texas, the berries are good. I'll I'll try them in the store, like make sure nobody sees me, I'll try one. And if it's good, I'll buy like I'll buy like eight 10 packs of berries, big ones. Stock up. So, yeah. So prioritizing eating raw is the best way to spend your money. And figuring out how to make more money to afford being raw is the best way to uplevel your life and become the person you were always destined to be.
And you and your partner, you're you're both raw, right? If I forget. I think so. Right. Yeah. That's good. That must be nice. It's always ideal when the both partners are in alignment, right? So that must be we have the exact same lifestyle. Exact. which is such a blessing because we don't ever disagree on anything to eat or how to make food or how we should be preparing food. We're like totally aligned. It is a huge blessing. Finding a partner who's raw vegan with you makes a big difference. But if you have a traditional eater, a meat eater, you can still be raw vegan. It's a it's a self-love practice for you. It it doesn't have to be. I've been in this game a long time. I actually divorced my ex-wife because she didn't want to be vegan, you know. Well, we divorced. I didn't divorce her. She actually divorced me because she didn't want to be with a vegan actually. And so I've gone through it, man. I've earned my raw vegan partner because I've gone through the ringer. I've prioritized over and over and over where my priorities are, how I'm going to spend my time, my effort, my money, what I'm going to sacrifice to have it. You know, I've been sacrificing for 10 years to be raw vegan. Sacrificed a lot to get what I've gotten.
And if she woke up one day, your current partner, and was like, "Okay, I'm not going to do this anymore. I decided I don't want to be vegan. Do you think it would still work? Do you think it can sometimes work and it's not just all like the food or no? No. Like not a not the commitment level that I'm at. I couldn't possibly spend um that intimate time with somebody who was not vegan. It wouldn't be possible. No. Wow. Okay. Well, I love the honesty. That's one thing you give us is honesty, which is respected. And number nine, you exercise every day. I'm starting to think I just started exercising. I've been exercising almost every day since October 10th, so for a while now. And it's changed my life, especially starting my day with that. And you see so much about how this is really, really anti-aging. So, let's hear it.
Yeah. Exercise stimulates the lymphatic system. So, our body's just fluids and the fluids got to move. The fluids have to move. If the fluids don't move, you get sick, you get fat, you get diseases. So, you got to move the fluids. The number one way to move the fluids is to exercise and to exercise rigorously. I invest uh an hour every single day. First thing I do when I wake up is I go to the gym with a liter of water by my side and that's all I do. I don't eat before I go to the gym. I work out fasted. I invest a heavyduty hour. I lift weights. I will sprint. I will really push my body to the max. I will really, you know, lift heavy heavy, you know, so my body's stressed and that moves the fluids in your body and it has incredible anti-aging benefits. It also moves the pelvic floor, which is the seat of elimination. So, you got to get everything out. Everything that you were eating the day before, even if it is raw, has got to come out. It's got to come out fast. And exercise is the ultimate laxative. You know, people drink coffee to go to the bathroom in the morning. No, you exercise to go to the bathroom in the morning. Try it, you know, try exercise. You'll have that urge instantly because it's the true stimulation of the fluids and the pelvic floor in the body.
And it makes you feel more positive. Like for me, as someone who's new to like committing to every single morning, it just makes you feel more positive. Like you can be going through the worst thing and it just totally shifts your life, right? If you just incorporate those daily habits. Yeah. Well, I'm a high performance person. I have extreme, you know, self-discipline, motivation, um, consistency. I have lots of clients that I work with. My workload is high. I run very successful business. There's a lot of expectation on me to perform at a certain way. And I couldn't do any of it if I didn't exercise first thing in the morning. It sets the tone for your day. And it makes you feel like everything's possible. If you can go lift heavy weights in the morning, you can do anything. So, it's really if you don't lift heavy weights, you know what happens? You get depressed. You feel like your life is worthless. You're sitting on the couch and you feel like, why am I depressed? I don't even know why. Because you didn't go move your body. You got to move your body. Moving your body is is absolutely key. Use it or lose it, you know? So, ultimately, exercise every day is a discipline that I do not because I want to. Do I want to work out? Do I like exercise? Oh, hell no. I would rather sit on my butt and, you know, eat bon bonss or something. I mean, but I have a self, you know, expectation and discipline and and I need to perform at a certain level. So, exercise is a must whether I like it or not.
Okay. And why fasted? This is something I just do because if I do it right in the morning, I'm just more likely to do it like before I start my day doing anything. And it just makes me feel really positive doing it in the morning. But I think there's a reason for doing it in a fasted state, right? I forget like why do you think that is? I interviewed Yaki awakened. He does it in that state too. But how come we should do it in fasted states? It produces human growth hormone. So, you can actually build more muscle if you work out in a fasted state. It also taps into the body fat reserves to produce energy because your glycogen, I mean, we should be, you know, finishing our last meal at like 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. the night before. We don't want to eat too close to bedtime. So, your glycogen stores are pretty depleted in the morning if you haven't eaten. And when you work out, your body taps into fat stores, which makes us naturally lean and beautiful like we're supposed to be. Our higher self is lean. Like I was saying, if you close your eyes and and picture yourself, you're not fat. So working out on a on a fasted state produces more muscle mass and burns more fat. Of course, making us more of that superhuman how we're supposed to be.
Okay. And before we get into number 10, I want to say even with all these habits, with all these amazing positive habits you've incorporated and the discipline you have, do you ever still get really stressed if something happens like something bad happens? Do you still feel like deep levels of stress? And if so, or resistance, what do you do when those things pop up?
Um, yes, I I'm a human. I have deep levels of stress like we all do. I'm not impervious to stress. I'm you know eating raw is a way to manage stress. Uh my d my diet and my lifestyle practices manage stress really well. So even though I might have stress because we live in a modern world. I mean I use social media for my business. I'm on social media all the time. That's stressful alone. Social media is stressful. Um so what I I think it depends on your goal. If your goal is to perform at a certain level or produce a certain result, sometimes we have to go through stress. So, we want to support the body as much as we can to accomplish our goal because after all, we're humans. We're here to create and build and imagine and leave a legacy bigger than ourselves. And this is not a comfortable thing. We don't leave a legacy because we're sitting on the couch comfortable. We leave a legacy because we're committed to greatness. We're committed to doing the uncomfortable thing which transforms us and shows us what we're capable of. So stress is part of that. We don't want to avoid stress. We want to allow stress to transform us to become the best version of oursel and support our natural hormones and cortisol levels through raw food which naturally detox the body, reduce acids, help shift the hormones. So even if I have a cortisol stress level happening in my body, raw counteracts that. So if I'm stressed, I'll specifically eat raw. I'll make sure I have berries for dinner instead of something else. You know, I'll keep it really light. The less digestion, the less stress in your body.
Mhm. Okay. And if someone were to ask you like, "Oh, you're 53. You look so amazing. What's the one top reason why?" Like say you were doing a real on the street and you could only give one reason why you look this good. Because I'm committed to eating raw vegan foods every single day instead of cooked foods. I'm committed to raw foods. I make that choice every single day. Instead of the convenient choice, I make the right choice. That's what has led to the benefits I've had 100%.
Okay. And how old do you want to live to? Um, well, I don't think longevity is ne necessarily my goal. Quality of life is my goal. So, I'd rather live in a high vibration for a short period of time than live at a low vibration for a longer period of time. Yeah, that's good. Right. So, I'm looking for the experience of life. I want to live to the fullest vibration, the highest spiritual level like mental health, you know, enhanced physical health and longevity from the reduced stress and the greater sense of meaning and purpose and applying ourselves to the future of humanity contributing to the evolution. Living mindful in the present moment, but being vision-ledd, you know, present and trusting in the present, but vision-ledd, that's what I want to live. It doesn't matter how long I live as long as I get to live like that.
And do you still feel a deep excitement for life at 53? Yeah, I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my life. Um at 53 I'm considering relocating to Costa Rica, getting out of the US, like living on some of my um income, like retiring maybe part-time. And you know, I've got a lot to look forward to. I know that my best years haven't even happened yet. And so I'm looking forward to what God has in store for me. That's great, Shane. Okay. And number 10, focus on bowel health above all else, which is something I think this is the first time I've ever You would never see something like that in a like, you know, in one of those anti-aging things you watch. And I love that because that is really important, right?
It's so important. Everybody's thinking about what can I put in to anti-age like the omega-3s and salmon, you know? So, I'll have salmon for dinner because that's healthy. That's the opposite. You need to get that salmon out of your body as quick as you possibly can. Whatever sits in your body poisons you from the inside. So if you're eating animal products, there are acid accumulation toxins that happen and then certain, you know, starches and animal products and cooked oils produce bofilm which inhibit absorption. So if you're not getting the proper nutrients from a raw vegan diet, you're not going to be able to have health or anti-aging. You got to clean the bowels. You got to focus on foods that do not pollute the bowels. So, this is why I focus on raw foods because it's fast bell transit time. Optimal elimination. What we're not eliminating, we're accumulating. When I see people on the street who don't look that great, you know, bless their sweet souls, but they're not they're struggling. And they just they're like hoarding toxins in their body. They're not focused on elimination. The one thing you need to do for anti-aging is focus on elimination. Make sure everything gets out of your body as fast as possible. That's the key. It's not supplements. It's not omega-3s. It's not protein. It's elimination. That's the key.
Mhm. Okay. I agree. And looks, we want to look good. We want to eliminate. We want to feel good. All this aside, how do you think it affects people's mental health switching to like such a pure diet and eating only real food? Like I know what it does and I see all the people I interview what it does. But from your perspective, like what is the impact people can expect? Like making those changes, right? Cuz the world's so out of control, Shane. Like the way people eat now, it's crazy.
It's completely out of control. Eating raw vegan brings us into alignment with our vision and our values and our actions. It makes us more human. It makes us more empathetic, more compassionate. It makes us more clairvoyant. It makes us more intuitive and psychic. It allows us to see who we are and our divine origins more clearly. It makes us more spiritual and it really aligns the actions to who we really think we are. So there's no cognitive dissonance. Raw is the ultimate no cognitive dissonance happening in your body and in your mind because your actions completely align with the perfect human experience. Like when we close our eyes and we imagine ourselves, we're not murdering animals on mass scale. We're not poisoning our body with food. We the eating raw is a pure self-loving act that produces the highest vibrational mental state. It's like becoming a kid again. It's like you feel like a dough or a fawn in the in the woods. Newborn, pure, just connected to the universe and God. That's what it is. It makes you like a fawn. It makes you pure again. It does. And there's no better way to feel and live and be than to be pure. You purify your bowels. You purify your heart. You purify your mind. You purify your spiritual aura. So what we put in our mouth every day becomes our mind. It becomes our spiritual aura. So the raw foods are fresh, raw, alive foods with living sunlight energy. Life force in the fresh fruits and vegetables. You can see the life force in the fruits and vegetables. They're colorful. They're beautiful. And it supports our body in that same way. It makes us colorful and beautiful. It makes our aura colorful and beautiful.
Mhm. I love that. Well, this has been fun. We haven't done a video in so long. I think it's been like at least a year. So, we'll have to do more regular videos. And I just realized I've been saying you're 53, but I think your 50 Well, your 53rd birthday is coming up, right? Two weeks or 54th. 53rd's coming up, right? 53rd. Two week. Yeah. A couple weeks. Two weeks. Yeah. So, happy early birthday. I got it wrong, but you're two weeks away. So, I'm pretty sure you're just going to I'm starting to call myself 53 cuz I'm right I'm right there. I'm starting to call myself 53 now. Yeah. Yeah. That's two. It's days away pretty much within a month. So, that's great. That's exciting. You should be proud and I'm proud of your discipline you've had and your success. Let So, let Okay, first of all, is there anything we missed and let everybody know where they can find you? Um, you have a great group. You do great coaching. I'll put everything down below. Great YouTube, Instagram, and yeah, anything you think we missed or any words you want to end off with about this topic.
I would encourage the listeners to do a 40-day juice fast. Surrender to the juice fast. Trust. It is such a deep surrender. It is so healing to your mind and your body and your soul. You think you need to eat protein, do a juice fast. It'll show you the truth. It'll awaken and enliven your mind. It'll show you the truth. It's so powerful to clean out the bowels. I recommend 40 days because it's like enough of an intervention to really give that feeling of complete transformation. It's spiritually awakening. You'll have like epiphies. God will speak to you. It's cool. And um 40 days is enough to really get that effect. And so it's not a diet. It's not ongoing. You don't have to do it regularly. Like just one time go all the way. Absolutely. And anything we missed about the topic and also maybe your favorite quote to end off with. My favorite quote is definitely losing an illusion makes you wiser than finding a truth. Oh, that's a good one. Never heard that before. Just like my focus on bowel health, what you eliminate makes you age better than what you put in. And what you lose makes you wiser than what you find. Strip it all down. Strip it down to the bare bones, baby. That's when the truth reveals itself.
Okay, that's good. I love that. Okay, well, this has been fun. Thanks, Shane. We'll have to have you back again. I loved this one. It was really good. And I hope you guys love this one as well. And I will put on the screen right now when I was I went to visit Shane in Texas and we did a what he eats in a day. So I'll pop that on the screen and another really popular podcast we did.
