[Music] Retaliation, Iran attacks US military targets in Kuwait and Bahrain, 85 targets, shoots down another US drone after US attacks Iran, 80 targets, in response to the seizure of commercial ships near the Strait of Hormuz. [Music] Central Command of the United States, or CENTCOM, issued a statement after the completion of the new round of attacks on Iran on July 7th, stating that it had attacked over 80 targets with high-precision munitions. These targets included Iran's air defense systems, command and control ships, radar stations, and the anti-ship and small boat capabilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, over 60 vessels, both in and near the Strait of Hormuz, to reduce Iran's ability to attack international trade. The statement said that the attack on three commercial ships without reason by Iranian forces was a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, dangerous, and undermined freedom of navigation. CENTCOM will remain stationed and ready to take action against Iran if it fails to comply with this agreement. This is the most severe attack on Iran since the United States and Iran signed a 14-point memorandum of understanding, making these agreements increasingly fragile. Not long after, the Kuwaiti army [Music] announced that its air defense system was intercepting missile and drone attacks, without specifying their origin, but informed the public that any explosions heard were the result of the air defense system intercepting enemy attacks. Previously, Iran had attacked US military targets in Kuwait, including Ali Al Salem Air Base, Ishkan Camp, and Binh Camp. The Ministry of Interior of [Music] Bahrain announced that it had activated air raid sirens, without providing details about the threat, but asked the public and residents to remain calm and go to the nearest safe place. The IRGC announced that its navy and air force had conducted a joint missile and drone attack, targeting 85 US military bases and facilities, including the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, and the Sunman port. The IRGC stated that this operation was only an initial response to the violation of the ceasefire agreement and the Islamic Accord after the US launched airstrikes targeting coastal bases and non-military stations in Hormozgan province and [Music] the city of Mashhad. The IRGC also linked the US attack to the funeral of the late Supreme Leader of Iran, saying that the US was trying to downplay historical events because it saw the mass turnout of millions of people at this ceremony as its defeat. Recently, Hossein Moghaddam, a spokesman for the IRGC, said that the IRGC's air defense system successfully shot down another US MQ9 drone in Commudood city, Bushehr province, Iran, while the drone was participating in reconnaissance and targeting on Iranian territory. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of [Music] Iran also condemned the US actions as a violation of the ceasefire framework and warned that it would take all necessary measures to protect national interests and security. Meanwhile, Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, announced that negotiations with the US would not take place if Trump continued to behave in a threatening and forceful manner towards Iran. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Parliament and Iran's chief negotiator, accused the US of violating the ceasefire agreement. He not only referred to the latest US military attacks but also included new oil sanctions, violations of Iran's de-escalation measures in the Strait of Hormuz, and Israel's attacks on Lebanon. Ghalibaf posted on X that the era of threats and extortion is over, and we will not [Music] surrender. It is reported that the US attack may have been due to embarrassment after Iran attacked US-protected ships, even after disabling GPS signals. Meanwhile, global oil prices immediately surged by nearly 3% this morning, recovering from a decline to pre-war levels after the US launched a heavy offensive against Iran in response to Iran shooting down three commercial ships [Music] in the Strait of Hormuz. It is reported that Brent crude oil futures for September rose to $76.08 per barrel at 11:00 AM today, Thai time, an increase of $1.92 or 2.6%, the highest price in two weeks, since June 23rd. [Music] Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate crude oil increased by $1.82 or 2.6% to $72.26 per barrel. Oil prices rose as a result of the renewed conflict between the US and Iran after the US revoked the waivers that allowed the sale of Iranian crude oil and the attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which the US, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia all blamed on Iran.
