This is amazing. Watch this.
The >> other videos we talked about how Abraham had a son named Isaac who then had a son named Jacob aka Israel. And then Jacob had 12 sons. And today we'll be talking about two of them. One of them is Levi and the other is Judah, but mostly Levi today.
Levi had three sons. Kohath has three kids which are Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Here is a list of Aaron's descendants, which could be found in 1 Chronicles 6. And we're going to highlight Zadok. Zadok. And from Zadok came the group called the Zetakites. We'll take a pause there and come back to that later.
In the other videos, we talked about how down the line of Judah is David, and then down David's line is Jesus, the best friend. Oh my gosh, you guys, quick side note, the people in the tribe of Levi became the Levitical priest. So, all of these people down this line are Levitical priests.
When David was reigning as king, he asked Zadok for help to have a division of priests. This information can be found in 1st Chronicles 24, the division of priests. So with the help of Zadok, a descendant of Ilazir, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering. The first division, second, third, fourth, fifth, seventh, and eighth is Abijah. And guess who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah? Zechariah who then marry a woman named Elizabeth from the line of Aaron. They have a baby named John the baptizer who then baptizes Jesus.
According to Luke 1 vers5, there was a priest named Zechariah who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah. His wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Let's come down a little bit to verse 11. An angel of the Lord appeared to him to Zechariah and he says, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah. Your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son and you were to call him John."
Okay, pause. Do you all remember the Zetakites we talked about earlier? Later on, the Zetites changed their names to Sadducees. And guess who was in the group of Sadducees? It is Caiaphas, bro. He was the guy who was like, "Let's get Jesus killed." But through the resurrection of Jesus came hope and restoration.
Cuz from the line of Levi came Joseph, aka Barnabas. Here's proof from Acts 4:36. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas. Now, let's go to Acts 11:4. It says, "Barnabas, he was a good man full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord." aka Jesus still wins.
