Before we enter into prayer with Psalm 35, I want to encourage you with the truth found in the Psalms, which have been a source of comfort, strength, and hope for countless people throughout the ages.
The Psalms remind us that God is not distant from our struggles, but rather He is deeply involved in the lives of His people. Whether in times of distress, facing opposition, or experiencing personal battles, the Psalms assure us that God hears our cries and will act on our behalf.
Psalm 34:17 and 18 encourages us in this way: "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
These words offer a profound reminder that God is not only aware of our suffering, but He is near to us, especially when we are brokenhearted. It is in our weakness that His strength is most clearly revealed. Even in times when we feel overwhelmed, the Lord promises His presence and His deliverance. He sees us, hears us, and will rescue us from the attacks of the enemy and the burdens that weigh us down.
As we approach prayer with Psalm 35, take courage in knowing that you are not alone in your struggles. The same God who fought for His people in times of old is with you now. He stands ready to defend you, to vindicate you, and to be your refuge in every storm.
Let your heart be encouraged that your cries do not fall on deaf ears. The Lord is faithful, and He will answer in His perfect time and according to His righteous ways.
With this in mind, let us now turn our hearts to God in prayer, trusting in His deliverance and strength as we pray through the powerful words of Psalm 35.
Oh Lord, I come before You, the God who contends for the weak and defends the helpless. Fight for me against those who fight against me. Stand as my Advocate and protector against the forces of darkness and the enemies who rise against my peace. You are my refuge and shield; contend with those who seek my harm.
Let Your mighty power bring deliverance, for You are the God of justice. Rise in my defense, oh God, and let the schemes of the wicked fail, for my trust is in You, my Redeemer and Defender.
Take up shield and buckler, O Lord, and stand ready to protect me from every harm. Arm Yourself with Your divine weaponry and defend me against the spiritual battles that rage against my soul. Let Your faithfulness be my armor and Your truth my shield. Surround me with Your heavenly protection that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
I rest in the assurance of Your strength, knowing that You stand guard over my life. Be my Divine Warrior, oh God, and let every attack of the enemy fall powerless before Your might. Draw out the spear and javelin, Lord, and confront those who pursue me. Declare boldly to my soul, "I am your salvation."
Speak life into my weary heart and let Your words banish fear and doubt. Reassure me of Your unwavering commitment to deliver me from my troubles. You are the God who saves, the one who rescues me from every pit and snare laid by the enemy.
Let Your salvation be evident in my life, and may I never cease to testify of Your deliverance. Speak peace and victory over my circumstances, O Lord.
May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame. Let those who plot my ruin fall into confusion and chaos. Turn their evil intentions into nothingness, O Lord, and let their schemes be exposed. Scatter the plans of the wicked and frustrate their efforts. Vindicate me in their presence that they may see Your hand at work.
Bring to light the truth that shatters their lies, and may their own actions lead to their downfall. Oh Lord, be my Advocate and let justice prevail in all that concerns me.
Let them be like chaff before the wind, driven away by the breath of Your command. Oh Lord, send Your angel to pursue them and scatter their plans. As the wind carries away the worthless chaff, so let the wicked be driven far from me.
May their strength fail and their resolve falter as they encounter Your power. Protect me, oh God, and let the enemy's path become desolate. Keep me safe under the shelter of Your wings as You demonstrate Your authority over all who oppose Your children.
Make their path dark and slippery, O Lord, and send Your angel to pursue them relentlessly. Let the enemy's journey be fraught with uncertainty and peril, that they may turn back from their evil ways. Confound their plans and make their schemes stumble before Your divine justice.
You are the God who leads Your people on the path of righteousness. May those who walk in wickedness find no footing. Shine Your light on my path and protect me from their snares, O Lord.
I trust in Your guidance and unfailing love, for without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit, seeking to trap my soul. Oh God, You see their unjust actions and the malice of their hearts. Expose their deceit and render their efforts fruitless.
Let their wicked schemes be revealed, and may they fall into the traps they have set for others. I commit my ways to You, O Lord, knowing that You are a just God who defends the innocent. Deliver me from every hidden snare and let Your righteousness shine like the dawn in my life.
Let destruction come upon them suddenly and without warning, and let the net they hid ensnare them instead. May they fall into their own pit and experience the consequences of their actions. You are the God of justice, and Your judgments are true.
Turn their evil against them, O Lord, and let their downfall be swift and undeniable. Protect me from their plots and grant me victory over their schemes. Let the world see that You are my Defender and that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in His salvation. I will sing of Your greatness and proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations. You are my deliverer, oh God, and I find joy in Your presence.
Let my heart overflow with gratitude as I witness Your mighty hand at work. My soul exalts in You, for You have turned my mourning into dancing and my sorrow into joy. I will praise You, oh Lord, with every breath, for Your salvation is my greatest treasure.
My whole being will exclaim, "Who is like You, O Lord? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them." You are the God of compassion who lifts the humble and defends the powerless.
I marvel at Your greatness and Your unmatched power to save. Let the world see Your justice, O Lord, and may my testimony inspire others to trust in You. You are my deliverer, my refuge, and my strength. Who can compare to You, the Almighty God?
Ruthless witnesses come forward, and they question me about things I know nothing about. Oh God, You see the false accusations and the lies spoken against me. Defend me against their slander and vindicate me in their presence. Let the truth prevail and silence the voices of deceit.
You are my Advocate, O Lord, and I trust in Your ability to expose every falsehood. Strengthen my heart as I face unjust accusations and remind me of Your faithfulness. May Your justice shine forth like the noonday sun in my life.
They repay me evil for good and leave my soul forlorn. Oh Lord, You see the pain of betrayal and the sting of unkindness. Heal my wounded heart and remind me of Your unfailing love. Let Your goodness surround me and restore my soul.
Though others may act in malice, I will not be shaken, for You are my anchor. Teach me to overcome evil with good and to trust in Your ultimate justice. I surrender my pain to You, O Lord, knowing that You will bring beauty from ashes.
Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. I prayed with a heart burdened for their welfare as if for a dear friend or relative. Oh God, You know the sincerity of my prayers and the love I have shown even to those who have wronged me.
Teach me to reflect Your heart of compassion even when others repay kindness with hostility. Strengthen me to remain steadfast in love, trusting that You see my efforts and will reward them in due time. May my actions bring glory to Your name.
I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother. Oh Lord, You understand the depth of my sorrow and the compassion I have shown to others. Comfort me in my distress and remind me that You are near to the brokenhearted.
Let my love and empathy be a reflection of Your character. Even in the face of adversity, may my heart remain soft and my spirit steadfast, trusting that You are the God who sees and rewards those who walk in righteousness.
But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; attackers gathered against me when I was unaware. Oh God, You see their cruelty and how they delight in my pain. Rise up as my Defender and turn their mocking laughter into silence.
Shield me from their malice and remind me that You are the one who upholds me. Even in my weakness, I will trust in Your strength. Vindicate me, Lord, and let their actions only serve to magnify Your justice.
Grant me peace in the midst of their assaults, knowing that You are my unshakable fortress. Like the ungodly, they maliciously mocked; they gnashed their teeth at me in scorn. Oh Lord, You see the contempt in their hearts and the venom in their words.
Stand as my defense against their unkindness and let their mocking fall on deaf ears. Teach me to rise above their insults and to respond with the dignity that comes from knowing You are my God. Strengthen me to reflect Your grace even in the face of scorn.
Let their words fall to the ground, powerless, as You silence the storm of their derision. Oh God, be my comfort. Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue me from their destruction, my precious life from these lions.
Oh Lord, how long will You remain silent in the face of my enemy's fury? How long will You allow them to plot against me and seek my downfall? My soul is heavy, and I long for Your divine intervention.
My life feels as though it is at the mercy of fierce lions, ravenous and relentless in their pursuit. I call upon Your steadfast love and Your mighty hand to rescue me. Oh God, shield me from those who desire my destruction. Deliver me from this peril, for my life is precious in Your sight.
Let Your justice roll forth swiftly, and may Your power triumph over the forces of darkness that surround me. I will give You thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs, I will praise You, oh my God, when You deliver me from my enemies.
I will not be silent; I will lift my voice in praise before all who are gathered, declaring Your mighty works to those who will listen. In the great assembly, where many voices are joined together, I will shout Your name and offer up my thanksgiving for the great things You have done.
In the midst of the throngs, I will glorify You, for You alone are worthy of praise. My heart will rejoice in Your salvation, and I will speak of Your greatness among the multitudes.
Let the world hear of Your goodness, O Lord, for You have been my deliverer and my refuge. Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause. Do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.
Lord, I beseech You, do not let my enemies rejoice at my misfortune. Do not allow those who have no rightful cause to rise against me to mock and gloat in their wickedness. Their hearts are filled with malice and hatred, and they are relentless in their pursuit to see me fall.
I ask that You expose their deception and bring an end to their scheming. May their eyes be blinded and their wicked plans thwarted. Do not allow them to act with impunity, but let justice prevail.
Bring to shame those who seek to harm me unjustly, and let their malicious intentions be brought to nothing. They do not speak peaceably but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.
Oh God, the words of my enemies are poison to the soul. They do not seek peace but plot lies and false accusations to bring discord and harm to the innocent. Their mouths are filled with deceit as they fabricate stories and spread rumors against those who walk in peace.
Their intentions are wicked, and their hearts are bent on destruction. Lord, I pray that You would silence their slanderous tongues and expose the truth. Let their lies be revealed for what they are: empty and without foundation.
May peace reign in my life, and may Your righteousness prevail over every falsehood. They gape at me and say, "Aha! Aha! With our own eyes, we have seen it."
Lord, my enemies watch eagerly, hoping to witness my downfall. They gloat and celebrate at the thought of my suffering, saying, "Aha! We have finally caught him!" Their hearts are filled with pride and wickedness as they believe they have gained the upper hand.
But oh Lord, You see all things. You know their schemes, and You are not blind to their mockery. I ask that You would turn their ridicule back upon them and that their attempts to bring me low would be thwarted.
May they be humbled, and may You be exalted in this trial. Lord, You have seen this; do not be silent. Do not be far from me, Lord.
You are my witness to the injustice that I face. You have seen the treachery of my enemies and their malicious schemes against me. Do not stand far off, oh God. Do not leave me to face this battle alone.
Come near to me in my time of need, and let Your presence be my strength. I implore You, do not be silent in the face of this oppression, but speak, O Lord, on my behalf. Let Your voice of justice be heard, and let Your power be made manifest in the midst of my distress.
Awake and rise to my defense; contend for me, my God and Lord. Oh Lord, I call upon You to arise in my defense. Stir Yourself from Your holy place and come to my aid.
My enemies are numerous, and their attacks relentless, but You are my God, my Defender, and my Deliverer. Contend with those who contend with me and fight for me, O Lord.
I do not trust in my own strength but in Yours. Be my shield, my stronghold, and my refuge. Rise up, oh God, and let Your power be displayed in my defense. May Your enemies be scattered, and may Your victory be made known.
Vindicate me in Your righteousness, Lord my God. Do not let them gloat over me, oh God of justice. I ask that You would vindicate me according to Your righteousness.
In Your perfect justice, clear my name and expose the lies and deceit of my enemies. Let them see that their efforts to destroy me have been in vain, and may they be filled with shame and confusion.
I long for Your righteousness to be revealed and for Your truth to triumph. Do not let my enemies rejoice over my misfortune, but let them witness Your hand of deliverance in my life.
May they be silenced by Your sovereign will, and may Your glory shine through my victory. Do not let them think, "Aha! Just what we wanted," or say, "We have swallowed him up."
Lord, do not let my enemies feel as though they have succeeded in their plans to destroy me. Let them not rejoice and say, "This is what we wanted; we have finally taken him down."
They seek to devour me, to swallow me up with their lies and malice, but I trust in Your ability to rescue me. May their hopes be dashed, and may they be left bewildered and defeated.
Let it be known that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, for You are my deliverer, and You will not allow their triumph to stand.
May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion. May all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and dishonor.
Oh Lord, I pray that all those who delight in my suffering would be put to shame and confusion. May their arrogance and pride be met with dishonor, and may they see that their mockery will lead to their own downfall.
Those who have exalted themselves against me will be humbled by Your mighty hand. May their schemes be thwarted and their plans unravel before their eyes.
Let Your justice reign, oh God, and let those who have sought to disgrace me be made a spectacle of shame. May they know that You are the Sovereign Lord who defends the righteous.
May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness. May they always say, "The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of His servant."
Oh Lord, I pray that those who have seen Your hand of justice in my life will rejoice with me in Your deliverance. May they shout for joy and sing with gladness, for You have vindicated me.
May they always declare, "The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of His servant." Let their praise be a testimony to Your goodness and Your faithfulness.
I long for Your name to be glorified through this victory and for all to see that You are a God who cares for His own, who rescues His people and lifts them up in their time of need.
My tongue will proclaim Your righteousness, Your praises all day long. Oh Lord, my heart is filled with praise for You, and I cannot help but declare Your righteousness.
My tongue will speak of Your goodness, Your justice, and Your mercy. I will not be silent, for You have been my Defender, my rescuer, and my strength.
I will proclaim Your praises all day long, for You are worthy of all honor and glory. Let my life be a living testimony to Your greatness, and may every word I speak lift up Your name.
You alone are worthy of praise, O Lord, now and forevermore.
