So if budget is not an issue, what is the best red light therapy panel: the 300 L or list that you can buy? Well, behind me, I have 17 different wall panels I've tested and reviewed them all, and I'm going to come out with my top five recommendations.

So yeah, when it comes to buying a red light therapy panel, it can be quite confusing. I mean, look behind me; there are a heap of them—so many options! Now, if you've seen my extremely popular red light therapy buyer's guide, you'll know that one of the first things I say is, okay, figure out your budget because that is going to determine really quickly what you can and cannot buy. A lot of people just say to me, well, Alex, I just want the best; what do you think the best is?
So if you are in this fortunate position, I've made it very easy for you. You see, in my 2024 red light therapy wall panel comparison series, I looked at all of these panels across various metrics: wavelengths, power output, operations, company legitimacy, lots of things. And what I did is I scored the panels and ranked them, and I did this over seven rounds. The very last round was where I incorporated price. This is where a panel that was quite cheap got a lot of points, and a panel that was very expensive didn't get many points at all.
So when it comes to my recommendations, the hard work has already been done. All we need to do is pull up the standings after six rounds, which doesn't include the price category, and see what panels came out on top. So because we want the best, we're going to look at the top five panels out of 17.
So let's look at fifth place and work our way up. In fifth place, we had the Mito Red Light Mito Pro 1500x. Now, this is a really high-quality panel from a company that's been in red light therapy for many years, so you're going to get something solid here. Its unique feature is that it's very tall; it's quite narrow, and it actually lost a few points in my comparison series because of this. I personally prefer wider panels, but the good thing about the Mito Pro 1500x is if you get two of them and put them side by side (which they're designed to do, by the way), you actually have quite a large treatment area. Not only are you getting a wider setup, but of course, you're going to get a very tall setup.
As for the panel features itself, it's got a good wavelength blend with five different wavelengths. What's really unique about this panel is it utilizes 590 nm amber light. Now, I'm not going to get into all the benefits of 590 in this video because we have a blog article on it down below; you can check that out. But I can tell you now, it is the only panel available that utilizes 590 nm. As well as 590, you're getting your 630, your 660, 810, and 830 nm wavelengths. You see, there's a big chunk of energy going into the 810 nm range. I personally like 810; I think it's an absolute game changer when it comes to muscle recovery and sports performance. So it's good to see a decent amount of 810 in the Mito Pro 1500x.
Finally, Mito Red Light is an American company; they have a three-year warranty, great customer care, and customer support. They also offer a lot of stand options, including a floor stand that allows you to use two of these panels. You can put one on top of the other, move it around on the floor, and you have a really tall red light therapy setup. I'll put full links to the product and the company down below. I've also done a full review on this panel, so be sure to check that out.
Now let's look at who came in at fourth place. Fourth place was the Rouge G3 Pro. Now, the key difference between this panel and the Mito Red panel is its width. You see, the Rouge, like all the other panels I'm about to mention, is a lot wider. The panel itself is 12 inches wide. That means if you're just getting that one panel, you're going to have a much better treatment area when it comes to full-body treatments. Sure, you're not getting shoulder-to-shoulder width; the only way you can do that with these panels is either to turn them on their side or get multiple panels. And that is something you can do with a lot of these panels. Like I mentioned with the Mito Red panel, the Rouge panel also has a modular setup, so you can connect multiple panels together.
However, the Rouge is going to put out a lot more therapeutic light compared to the Mito Red panel. It's one of the most powerful panels out there. However, there is a big downside: it only emits 660 and 850 nm light. There's nothing wrong with these wavelengths; it's just that we know other wavelengths, such as your 810, your 630, or your 590, like we saw before, offer a lot of benefits as well. Still, if you want a wider panel with the traditional wavelength and it packs plenty of power, then the Rouge G3 Pro should be on your shortlist.
So in third place, my recommendation is the Rojo Therapy Refine 900. Now, this panel is extraordinary; it's very new. It was just released early 2024, and it's packing not only a ton of power but also some very unique revolutionary features. Let me explain.
So first up, it's a wider panel: 12 inches wide, 300 LEDs like all the panels we’re mentioning here. It's also incorporating five different wavelengths: you're getting 630, 660, 810, 830, and 850 nm light. The panel itself has dual-chip LEDs, so that means every single LED length has both a red and a near-red chip in it, meaning you're going to get a nice spread of light. But it gets better. What Rojo have done is they've individually wired in each of those chips. So this means you can go through and customize how much power or how much energy is going to each particular wavelength. So if you want a heap of energy, go for 810, but only a little bit to say 830 and 850, and none to the red light wavelengths—you can do that.
Even better, the Rojo Refined panels have incorporated what they're referring to as smart modes. This means you can go in and select your goal, whether it's bone healing, muscle recovery, or skin health. You can go and select your goal, and the panel will automatically adjust the parameters. It'll adjust what wavelength it's running, how much energy is going to those wavelengths, and the time duration. This is a really cool feature; it's something that doesn't exist in any of the other panels. All other panels may have a manual that tells you how long you should use it for, but the Rojo Refined panel has it built in directly into the panel.
Not just that, there's also an application that comes free with the panel, so you can do everything from your phone. Even better is you can customize everything yourself and save it as a preset. The idea is we're going to take a good hard look at a particular health issue. Let's say it's wound healing. We want to look into the research; we want to see what wavelengths are both beneficial and what intensities are needed as well as the time of treatment. When we've figured it all out, we'll come up with a recommendation, and we'll publish those recommendations. Then, you can go in and use a panel such as the Rojo Refined, customize everything to suit, and save your own personalized protocol within the app.
Of course, you can do your own research and experiment yourself, but this panel is very unique in the sense that it offers this feature. I actually think it's going to be a total game changer. Finally, I should mention the Refined 900 comes included with a free floor stand as well.
All right, so in second place was the Block Blue Light Mega 900. Again, 12 inches wide, 300 LEDs. This panel was also using dual-chip LEDs and putting up five different wavelengths: 630, 660, 810, 830, and 850 nm light, with a nice even power split between these. The Block Blue Light Mega has a really nice touchscreen control system. It comes included with a remote control, and there are a couple of stand options as well. The company has been running for many years now, and this is actually their fourth generation of red light therapy panels.
It may not have the built-in customization and smart modes that the Rojo panel has, but it does offer dimming and pulsing functions, and the Block Blue Light Mega is extremely powerful—the second most powerful panel I've ever tested. So if you want power, five wavelengths, dimming, pulsing, touchscreen control, and a nice blend of light, then yeah, the Block Blue Light Mega is for you.
So that leaves one remaining panel. Now, this panel did come out in the top spot in my 2024 comparison series. Now, just because it came out overall one doesn't mean it's the perfect panel, and it also doesn't automatically mean it's the panel for you. You see, I tested all of these panels over a range of metrics, and I scored them accordingly. But if you don't agree or if you don't value some of those metrics, then the results are going to be totally different. So I highly recommend going back and watching that series, so just keep that in mind as I work through the scores.
However, the last remaining panel is the Platinum LED BioMX 900. This is the eighth generation, the 2024 panel. Now, this panel is 12 inches wide, 300 LEDs, and it's packing seven different wavelengths in here. You're getting your 630, your 660, your 810, 830, and 850 nm light, like the other panels we just saw. However, you're also getting some blue light in there and some 1060 nm near-infrared light.
Now, we've written articles and done videos on these wavelengths, so check them out if you do want to know more about those wavelengths and the benefits they're going to bring. But in a nutshell, the blue light is really good for skin health, though there are some other benefits outside of the skin health world, and the 1060 nm is really deep penetrating and actually really good for the brain.
So straight away, this panel is unique in the sense that it has seven wavelengths. Nothing else on the market does that. Even better, this panel is super powerful; it is the most powerful panel I've tested of all time. Now, not everyone wants a lot of power, but fortunately, using Platinum LED's really nice control system, you can easily adjust the intensity, and you can drop it down to a figure that suits you. You can also disable the blue light if you don't want that.
The BioMX includes a remote control and a free app with your panels. Plus, they also sell a professional touchscreen remote control if you're in a clinic environment and you want more control over the panel.
Now, the other cool thing about the Platinum BioMX 900 is you're buying from a company that's been involved in the red light therapy space for many, many years and consistently has created great innovative products. One of the standout features with the BX range is the huge amount of stands you can purchase. They have a floor mount stand, a wall-mounted bracket, horizontal stands, vertical stands, and a motorized horizontal stand. Personally, if you have the space and the funds, the motorized horizontal stand is an absolute game changer.
I've done a review on that; everyone that's used it loves it, and it is a really, really good option. It means you can lie down, lower the panel to the desired height, and do your session. The other cool thing with the BX panels that stand out from the others is the connectivity systems. It's rather simple to connect multiple panels together and then operate them using the control mechanism of your choice.
Now, I personally have been using BioMX panels for a couple of years now; I love them. I still have the older sixth-gen panels, but it works great, so I haven't bothered upgrading. But I can tell you it is a very good, well-built panel that puts out a ton of red light. Finally, I should also mention that the BioMX panel is great for expansion.
Now, if you are planning on doing a full body panel setup where you've got head-to-toe coverage, shoulder-to-shoulder width, then yes, it is a great option because of their connectivity systems and all the stand options. However, this leads me to my final recommendation. Yes, I have 17 panels behind me; yes, I've just shared the top five panels, but you may actually find that your ideal panel is not one of the five or the 17 I have behind me.
You see, all of these panels were 300 LEDs or less. They are what I call wall panels, but you can actually get panels out there that are a lot larger. I call these body panels; these have a thousand, sometimes even more, LEDs in them. They are one large body panel; they would come in a massive box. Yes, they're a lot more expensive; however, it means you get one panel, and it's going to cover all areas in one session. You also don't have to worry about connecting them all together because it's already done for you.
Of course, shipping and freight and setup logistics is going to be a bit of a headache, but once it's installed, these panels are really nice.
