Well, joining us now is Climate Depot executive director Mark Marano. Mark, great to see you as always. You've been coming on this show with Rita, James, and I for nearly eight years talking about fighting the climate wars and the madness and the insanity. And finally, we have Donald Trump in the White House. Mark, what is the Trump effect on climate change?
Are we seeing this mad cult finally in retreat? I sit here stunned. And I can tell you that in my lifetime, I've never seen a president more consequential, at least domestically, in what he's accomplished in less than three weeks. And I think he's on course to I mean, to just obliterate anyone in the last obliterate anyone in the presidency in the last fifty years. He has literally driven a stake through the heart of the climate scam, particularly the international UN global climate scam.
And I saw it firsthand. I was in Baku, Azerbaijan. Yes. I traveled twenty three hours of nonstop travel to get Azerbaijan, which borders Russia and Iran to this UN COP twenty nine climate summit a week after Donald Trump was elected. I saw firsthand the infighting, the bickering.
I saw the o opening session where they said oil was a gift from God. I I saw Al Gore, the man that countries withdraw, and they all condemned Donald Trump. And there's a now a whole movement to to just cease the whole process. Argentina pulled its whole delegation. That was just the beginning.
Since he's become president, he has wiped out The entire US domestic agenda, and he's done it in much smarter ways. And there's talk he's gonna submit the UN Paris agreement as a treaty to the United States senate. If it's rejected as a treaty, then the next president can't get The US back in. But we have Argentine, Poland, Eastern European countries, like Hungary. You have the EU rejecting the green, the green deal.
All of this is the Trump effect, and I think this is going to this is not this is not reversible like 02/2016 to 02/2020 presidency. This is going to be permanent because we've now had eight years of being lied to about climate, and Trump is showing the world you don't have to follow the Soviet ideology of net zero. They feel Well, Mark, here in Australia, we've got both sides of politics saying they're gonna stay in the Paris agreement. What for a country like Australia, which has a lot of coal and a lot of gas and a lot of stuff under the ground, is the point of staying in Paris if The US is out, it doesn't apply to China, and the rest of the world has moved on? I don't know.
It's a question of how long your voters and Australians are gonna put up with this nonsensical virtue signaling. The bottom line is this. Climate goals net zero have nothing to do with climate change. It's all about bureaucratic bean counters wanting to control every aspect of your life. If you actually cared, if you actually believed there was a climate crisis, whether you're in Australia or The US, the last thing you'd wanna do is, well, let's go with the central plan net zero policy and agree new deal where we start banning appliances and regulating, you know, the kind of cars you can drive and how much meat you can eat, which every European nation went it would be the opposite.
You would wanna unleash technology, innovation, wealth, prosperity, and you'd wanna continue riding that ninety nine percent drop in climate related deaths the last hundred years. The last thing you'd wanna do is hinder yourself with central planning nightmare of that. So I don't know. I I hope Australia comes around. If Trump leads the way, and we already have our Argentina talking about a clexit, a climate exit for the UN Paris, and the European countries aren't gonna be making commitments or doubling down.
They they are once Russia invaded Ukraine and they had all their energy crisis in Europe, they started pulling back anyway. Australia will be alone in the world. It's only a matter of time before you come to your senses, isn't it? Right. Good question.
I'm not sure. I'm so sorry. I don't know. You tell me. But if I'm having my, diet coke in the afternoon, I'm obliged to use a disgusting paper straw that disintegrates that is completely pointless.
And this is where Trump is brilliant because he's not only doing the really consequential things like drill, baby, drill, making sure America's energy independent, But reversing this ban on, plastic straws. He's saying, we're getting rid of paper straws. We're gonna have plastic straws because it's a stupid decision. I mean, talk about vacuous virtue signaling. We know where the plastic in the ocean comes from.
It is a real problem that response to this, because this affects everybody. You know? Everyone uses straws. Has it been well received or are the, Yes. Are the left up in arms about it?
I mean, yes. I mean, first of all, you know, the greatest gift that they ever gave Donald Trump was trying to threaten him with jail. At that moment, last summer twenty twenty four, Donald Trump became transcended politics because here they knew we're gonna put a politician in jail over nothing charges. The public knew it. That made a win.
The same thing, Donald Trump understands that transcending politics. When you lift a ban on plastic straws in America, you just said no more bull bleep and no more crap. It's not there anymore. This was the most absurd thing. In California, they were threatening waiters with thousand dollar fines if they if they stuck a plastic straw to someone.
You have grocery stores, same thing with the plastic bags. You know, everything in the grocery store from milk to bacon to meat to every product is packaged in plastic, but you can't have a bag on the way out. It's all designed to punish people, the little paper straws. It turns out, and Donald Trump knew this, that the paper straws have a bigger carbon footprint, and they're less they're not healthier for the planet or people. They have what they call forever chemicals in them.
The plastic's actually healthier and better for the planet, the plastic straws, and they actually work. So the reaction has been huge here. The is working the whole federal government is gonna be lifted on this, all the states that have been fighting the you know, for this. People realize this has all been virtue signaling, and it's directly tied to the transgender ideology, the critical race theory, the whole woke agenda. They've just had it in America.
NFL is removing end racism, in the end zone for the Super Bowl. It's unbelievable what we're seeing. We're seeing comedians now make, you know, off color politically incorrect jokes again, the mainstream comedians. America is like this is a cultural shift that's bigger than 1870 And it'll change it'll change the world, Mark. But I wanna take your straw thing.
That is the perfect metaphor for windmills, for solar panels, for all these things they do far more damage, don't they, Mark? You tell me. You're the you're the author of the climate hoax films. Don't these things like windmills and solar panels, which we are now flooding this country with literally out in the ocean and on the land, don't they do an incredible amount of damage? Absolutely.
In fact, in The United States, marine mammals and particularly whales, we've had an unprecedented whale mortality since they started this huge construction off the coast in the East Coast in The United States. They give them more whale takings. In other words, they're allowed to kill endangered species of whales. They're allowed to kill a number that's greater than the known amount of species in the wild. In other words, they're allowed to just completely obliterate it.
And the thing that's amazing is that they don't produce energy. Solar wind combined are less than 4% of US total energy, and then the electrical side, they're only less than 14% despite massive subsidies, massive mandates, banning the competition. It takes half a million pounds of materials to build one Tesla size EV battery. When people talk about green energy, there's nothing green about digging up the Earth. And, yeah, green energy, solar, wind, and EVs dig the Earth and not in a Brady Bunch nineteen seventies groovy way, but in a literal way.
China dominates most of the materials that they dig up. James. And, Mark, I wanna ask you too, though. You know, we're all really excited about the agenda, what's been going on, the executive orders, all of that. But how fast is the legal pushback gonna come back?
Because you know the left is gonna mount a big fight Yes. In the courts, the activist judges. You know, we saw an activist judge go after the treasury just in the last few hours. What's going to happen there and how stoppable is that? And just very quickly, also, can Americans and by extension of the world get back their incandescent light bulbs?
Because I am sick of these horrible LED things that make everybody look like they're dead, and, and I want my incandescent lights back. Yes. That's it. I have not heard about the incandescent light bulb revival yet. That's an interesting one.
They have LED bulbs, which are much better than the original, replacements for the incandescent, but, I think I hopefully, they'll lift all of those bands. And that those all come again through bureaucratic measures. Almost everything that we're talking about, the intentional collapse of energy, food, and your restriction and movement with transportation have all come to unelected bureaucracies in Europe and The United States. We never voted on gas powered car bans. It was just done through administrative agencies and unelected bureaucracies and executive orders.
So this you asked about the pushback. I am seeing what I am witnessing now is unprecedented. The entire liberal woke establishment has laid flat right now. Donald Trump is literally steamrolling them. They can't last.
I I tell Donald Trump, especially Elon Musk with the budget cuts, they have maybe a month or two months before they start rising from the ashes, and they're going to push back. And you're that's the first place they're going to do is more and more of these court cases, more lawsuits. But I think at that point, I think the cultural shift is so massive. We're gonna look back on woke people the way in the nineteen eighties we laughed about it, three love hippies. They were just a punchline at that point.
And I think when you see the Democrat leadership council that just had their DLC chairman, Democrat party, they literally had a meeting where they said, well, according to the bylaws, we have to have one, gender of male, one female, and then we need a non binary mem they spend all this time about all the rules. They are completely clueless. They're still operating on a world that doesn't even exist in America anymore. So the good news is it might take them a while, but I still think within a few months, the opposition will gear up and Donald Trump will start hitting resistance. But right now, it's the orange steamroller in America, and it's it's unprecedented.
Well, we're still waiting for some confirmations, including Kash Patel. He's, Trump's pick to take over the FBI. And he has said that if he's in the Epstein list, everything associated with that case is going to be released. Tell me how nervous are some, well, billionaires and, elites in in The US and elsewhere. Hello.
I missed that question, you said about Kash Patel. Yeah. Well, he's saying that he's gonna release the Epstein list. How nervous are the elites? Well, there's a lot of theories here in Washington that, you know, this is one of the reasons, that there hasn't been a lot of, this pushback is because of Trump declassifying documents and all these threats.
I don't know. I can't answer that. I will tell you though that RFK Junior, you wanna talk about climate and where he is on public health. The co the COVID this is where I we should go with this. The COVID lockdowns globally were the greatest red pilling of of people around the world, particularly in The United States.
Robert F. Kennedy Junior went from running to jail climate deniers at The Hague with three square murals and a cot to now saying he won't even talk about climate change. It's an issue that's dead to him because it's been hijacked for the by the United Nations World Economic Forum for totalitarian control of society. That's the kind of guy we have coming into office now. These are these shifts have been massive, and I just think liberals can't even handle it.
It was funny to see all the liberals attacking people like RFK Junior when he was considered for Biden's EPA I'm sorry. Obama's EPA not that many many years ago. The world has shifted dramatically here at Pacific United. Justin Trudeau on his way out. You can't discount that as well.
