Matthews versus Hoy, the RX8 versus the Lift. Which one am I picking and why?
I have had this bow since about December, and then I've had this for the last 6 weeks. I've had issues with both, and that really is the deciding factor. Both these bows are great; they shoot within 5 FPS of each other. Matthews is actually lighter, despite this being a carbon bow.
Lots of arrows on both of them. For me, the deciding factor was that when my RX8 blew up and I sent it to Hoy right before going to Lift Run Shoot, it took them 6 weeks for me to get this back. When I would call them asking for updates, I didn't hear anything.
Bad. My limbs cracked on my Matthews, which tends to be a common problem I'm hearing on these Lifts. I had my limbs the next business day.
Now, what would have happened if my RX8 had the bed, you know, a couple weeks out from hunting, and I didn't have the ability to go try a different bow or to go get another bow? I'd have been out of luck.
You can't go wrong with either of these bows. Ultimately, you're going to have to go to a pro shop and shoot both of them and figure out which one you like more. But for me, I'm rocking with the Lift.
