Hi, hello, welcome! I think that's going to be my new catchphrase. Now, welcome back to my YouTube channel. Those of you who don't know me, I'm Katie, PhD student at Oxford, and this is going to be my room tour. I live in college at Harris Manchester. I had a bunch of questions on Instagram asking me to show you around, so here we are.
I have got an ensuite room. I look out onto one of my favorite streets in Oxford. I also have a neighbor just over the road, and I think, yep, he's at his desk now, so I won't stand here too long. I'm going to show you around a bit by bit. I hope you enjoy. Any questions about anything, pop them down below in the comments, and obviously, don't forget to follow me on Instagram for a start. And subscribe if you like it. I guess that cringes me out so much. Let me know if you have any other video suggestions, and I'll get to it.
I'm going to give you a really quick pan-around view of my room. So, you come in the door here, you've got my little kitchen area and chest of drawers. You go around, and it is my seating area with my bookshelf, fireplace, and coffee table. I've got my wardrobe just tucked in there with my pin board, and if you spin around more, you've got my beds (plural), my bedside table, some toiletries, my mirror, and then my desk. And then in here, behind that wall, is my bathroom. I haven't really used this ever. Um, the wheels here are amazing. So, this is just kind of like a backup, but it's really nice to have. Bathroom. Check out the drawers. I'm not going to talk you through it. It's just furniture in it. It is claes and pajamas, what do you believe?
I always have a fan. It's currently October, I haven't used it yet, but it does get pretty toasty in here. It's underfloor heating, I don't have a radiator, which is very funky, and I've had that before. So, I've moved the coffee table out of the way so that you can see a bit better. If we spin around, I've got my fireplace. Up on the fireplace, I've got my moving-in card and a little trinket that my mom got me, which is so cute. I've got this big mirror that I bought with me. This is from eBay. Oh my god, that is so grubby, that's disgusting, that's embarrassing. Hello! So, I've got a diffuser and a snow globe. Was awarded when I went to Geneva, but it smashed in my case. My Boris frame up in the fireplace. I've got this, uh, plant. I don't know the name of it. I think it's a Monstera. Uh, my friends say if you will absolutely be able to tell me. And then the fireplace is one of my favorite parts of the room. In front of it, I've just got my laundry basket. This shelf thing going on came in the room, a two cacti on it, and then two actual plants.
We'll move around to the bookshelves because they're open. Sitting the chair came in the room when I moved in. I bought this blanket and this cushion with me. I've been using it to film in, but other than that, I don't really sit here. On these three shelves down here, I've got shoes. Up here, I've got some Junior Dean information, ring binder, pennies, and then my speaker, and then notebooks. I love stationery, it's a guilty pleasure. I actually used to make stationery, and these were all made by me. I was going to sell them at some point, but never really got around to doing it, and then I started my PhD, so that's on the ax street for now. Up the shelf, I've got all of my books. I'm learning Spanish for my fieldwork. These are National Geographic magazines that I get every month, and true crime books, and then all of my recipe books. I love cooking. Big shout out to my dad for the Marmite cookbook. So, we go up a shelf, I've just got this cute little pot. And then if we go over to this bookshelf, the shot glasses, those tumblers, the vars, the carafe, and those two espresso cups are all from eBay, as are these six wine glasses. Below that, down here, I've got these two cups. These are my absolute favorites, they're from Anthropology, and I love them to pieces. And here, kind of gross, we've got my bin shoved behind here because it's not visible. It's all of my kitchen stuff down there. It's the wicker basket from eBay again.
Now, we will spin round to here. My mum helped move in, and there were two beds here, and then the college said that I could keep both for when George comes to stay, which is so nice. So, yep, there's a door. So, just so you can get your bearings, and then here we've got my pin boards, photos of family and friends. I spin you round here is the bed and the room from the other side. This is my bedside table. I've got my phone charger over here that charges my watch, my AirPods, and my phone all at the same time. It's amazing, big recommend. I've got a night light next to it, and then a big lamp, and then my String of Pearls here, which I am trying so hard to keep alive. This trolley is from Ikea. I love this, it's so good. Here is my mirror and this storage space. This came in the room, and I absolutely love it. It is so useful. It's where I take my outfit pick every morning.
My desk is in a beautiful bay window. The desk and the chair obviously came with the room. This lamp, the one on the wall opposite, comes on in the evening, and it's a really nice light. So, yeah, I've just got this lamp, my ring binder, a to-do list notepad, where you water bottle, a candle, a pen pot, a little cacti, and then a kettle. And then if we spin around here, there's my bathroom. Let me go in and turn the lights. I'm really sorry about the flickering. So, we've got a mirror and a towel rail, sink, some storage underneath, and then my toilet. And then I've got a huge shower, which I absolutely love. It's one of my favorite things about my room.
So, that was a tour of Oxford room. Hope you enjoyed seeing it. It's my home away from home, it's beautiful. If you have any other things you want to see or questions about Irene, feel free to drop them below, and I will reply to you in the comments. I hope that I'll have another video up next Sunday, but we will see. But yeah, adios!
