Good morning, Dr. Paul. How are you today?
Doing well. Do you think we'll have anything to talk about today?
Couple things, I think.
Few problems left.
Few problems left. Well, they would just join us and solve the problems. Use a little bit of common sense and we'd be out of work.
So, but not yet. So, I guess uh history will tell all of history that these kind of problems exist. But we still have to deal with them because we have to take a position if we think we live in a civilized society. And sometimes I don't think we live in a civilized society and that's why we run into some opposition. But I want to start off with uh you know the intel assessment that uh we talked about before and uh this this to me is uh something that that really is a is a bother and uh the the whole the purpose of the fresh intel shows that uh that this this information that we're getting from our well may be part of our administration that everything's going well. The war is almost over and the president has tried to calm people down, make the markets go back to normal, get the oil prices back down. So, uh it uh it's close to not not close to collapse is what they're saying. Now that the information that uh that you hear of from one half of the administration or one part of this administration does not agree with the other half which uh I think that is nothing brand new. I think that probably happens with all administrations, but most of the time it's done, you know, with a little bit more decorum and if it's really a disscent happen, they get rid of the people. But this one is out in the open and looks like looks like they might be trying to protect themselves on what they believe is coming. Maybe this thing's going to fall apart. Maybe we aren't going to win the war. We haven't won very many before. Not that that's the most important thing in the world in the world especially if the wars are not uh you know uh very morally driven. They're driven for various reasons but uh for instance just going to war willy-nilly by the decisions of a few people that's not what it was intended by the founders and that may be leading to our pro problem. But uh it's the argument right now is the uh Iranian government the their their leadership is is that are they close to collapsing? And uh we were feeling our way through that and figured that maybe maybe they're going to be stronger than uh the uh the the uh the wararm mongers, the the people who say duck soup, no problem. We can get in there and out of there in no time. Just look how well we've taken care of Ukraine and Syria and the whole rest of being very facitious because they never live up to their promises and how easy it's going to be and how easy it would be to take over a country like Iraq and not have any real problems and we they they'll be able to do that. And don't worry, we'll we'll steal their oil. We'll pay all the bills and everybody will be happy. it'll stimulate our economy. Well, it looks like some of that isn't coming true. It looks like we have e economic problems here at home. We have budgetary problems here at home. And we have just truth problems. What are we what are we going to believe, you know, on what's really going on. Uh, of course, we know which faction we lean toward because they seem to be making a lot more sense about what's going on in uh in Iran. And I I hope that uh we have a breakthrough here and more and more people would say yes, we want to know what's going on. And there are more people saying that, but when is it going to happen? Have they dug a hole so deep to be in this in this war that even if they decided, oh yeah, we better quit. They're they never qu it's never easy to quit the war. It's easy to go in and sneak and lie, but it's hard after a while. They can't lie their way out of it. And that's their dilemma.
Yeah. Dr. Paul, you remember in the Iraq war, uh, after all, excuse me, the promises of weapons of mass destruction, uh, we don't want the, uh, the warning sign to be a mushroom cloud or whatever. She said, uh, they're going to take us, they're going to hit us in New York. All of these things that were told to the United States, to the American people, to get them jinned up for the war, and it worked. I think there was 74% support for the war when that happened. Well, when things went south as predicted by a lot of the rest of us very quickly and then a few years in and then there was no WMDs, it was all a lie. If you remember what what happened then the intelligence community was blamed intelligence. Well, we had bad intelligence. It was all the intelligence fault. It's not our fault. It was not Petraeus's fault. It wasn't Bush. It wasn't Cheney. It wasn't Rumsfeld. It was Intel's fault. And I think what we're seeing now, because if you put that first one up, this is the second time in about a week that we've seen leaks from the intelligence community saying things are not going as advertised. Uh what you're hearing from the other parts of the administration telling you things about how strong we are and how much we're taking things out and how much we're winning. Well, that's not true. So, here is uh from Zero Heads wrote it up. Fresh intel, US intel assessment says Iran regime not close to collapse after two weeks at war. A fresh report in writer says what should already be quite obvious to all. US intelligence has assessed that Iran's leadership and government are largely intact and the system system does not risk collapse after two weeks of heavy sustained bombardment. One of the sources was cited saying that a multitude of intelligence reports provide consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger of collapsing and retains uh control of the Iranian public. Now go to the next one. Contrast that with what else we're hearing. The source in the Wednesday issued Reuters report indicated the most recent US intelligence was only completed within a few days prior. And I highlight this part. this week. President Trump has also been busy declaring that the war could end soon and that we won. And so the report uh I won't read all of the rest of this, but a lot of cohesion, a lot of destruction, but they have cohesion. They're in control. Uh things are not going uh as they're being advertised. So I really do think, Dr. Paul, that this is push back by the intel community saying, "Nuh-uh, you're not going to do this to us again." uh which is rather interesting you know this is the bure you know the bureaucratic uh world uh in DC you don't want to catch the blame number one and number two if you are an honest intel analyst and there are plenty of them there are plenty of them across the different um aspects of the community DIA at INR at state uh NSA at CIA there are a lot of very very you know competent analysts and they don't want to have they don't want to be ignored either you know so this is an interesting thing I think interesting development
You know the uh ever since this began even before the two weeks of the violence breaking out the question was what are you going in for but but because they don't have debates and votes on war that it's whatever they say and it and it can shift and there might be three or four different main reasons why the president decided to to take the Iranians on and And one that I heard yesterday, I hadn't heard it before because he used the word uh we did not want the Iranians to get an empire.
And I thought, well, that's that's a a good plan, but I didn't know they had one. They did a long time ago. Remember?
Few years ago?
Few years ago they had one. But I thought I thought, you know, empires are involved. But I think they had he has this twisted. I think that what what they're concerned about the people who are gungho uh for the war is that they are sensing that uh the American empire they is that they claim we're trying to stop the Iranian empire but what they're worrying about is losing the American empire and they see the Iranians as a challenge to it and uh even though it's only two weeks it looks like uh you you know it wasn't a pushover over for the Iranians uh you know you know by by our forces and that uh the our empire is still struggling and uh right now the whole idea blame the other side for doing what what they claim that they claim we're doing. So I think that the the Iranian Empire argument, you know, doesn't hold much water because I think they their history over the last several decades has been mostly defensive, you know, and unwillingness to talk to somebody and not it doesn't make him angels, but it does raise questions about uh the uh honesty of our negotiators and our decision makers in this country.
Yeah. And you know in the same article that we were talking about uh they quote Jeremy Scill who's been a longtime journalist but this is the most important point and this is what Trump and the people around him Jared whoever wickoff what they don't understand. Now if you put that one that one next one up because this is asymmetric warfare. Now, journalist Jerry Jeremy Scale, who starting over two decades ago covered the leadup to the Iraq war from on the ground, has reiterated, quote, "In asymmetric warfare, the less powerful side does not need to militarily defeat an adversary, but rather force it to a point where it determines the cost of continuing the war is so high." Now certainly people in the uh military colleges, people at the Pentagon, people in intel understand the nature of asymmetric warfare. There are people there who are experts. But it seems to me that Trump and the people around him and perhaps the HEGs types, they don't understand it. They believe, hold on a minute, we spend the most of anyone on our military. We've got more ships than anyone. We've got more planes and bombs and fighters and troops. this can't be possible. But the thing is, they're fighting World War II where you go in there with everything you've got, you kill all those dirty Nazis, and then you come home. And this isn't like that. This is asymmetric warfare. And Scill very well points it out. You don't defeat them militarily. You make the cost of continuing so high that the stronger force has to reassess its values.
Yes. And the other the other factor that works into that is the homeland factor. If you're fighting for your homeland, it's a bit different because just think of how many bombs we dropped, how many people we killed, how much money we spent in Vietnam, which we flat out lost that war. And uh and it was they were fighting their for their homeland, which is a lot different. And when you go 6,000 miles away to look for some activity to keep the military-industrial complex happy and a few other countries who don't like the Iranians, that that's uh that has a lot of weight to it. So, it probably doesn't matter. I mean, the the Iranians are it's turning out they're much stronger than than we claimed they were. That's one thing. But it's also that they finally prepared themselves because uh they were hoping that uh they they probably wouldn't have to solve their problems militarily, but they they evidently decided their homeland was going to be attacked in a serious manner and things have changed. So it's uh I I think that factor is a big factor on motivating people and that's and one thing is is so far and I don't know how long it's going to last because this is not going well is is the president says no no ground troop no ground troops and uh yet he he didn't he never he says oh no we you we need to do this and we need to bomb the living daylights out of them because we need their oil. you know, they they don't they don't sort of give us the the whole picture. Well, it turns out that oil thing just drives me buggy because look, we have more oil than anybody else with the prices way low. And if we can take a situation like that with a little bit of freedom, everybody can have as much oil as they wanted.
Yeah, absolutely.
And now, and now look at it. Harley, no, nobody's going to have what they need. And that's where we're working on.
That's a big problem. Well, I want to juxtapose two video clips here because I think this demonstrates more than perhaps all of these articles that we're citing. This demonstrates the disconnect between the Trump side of the administration and the reality based community side of of things. So, go to that first one. Now, this is Trump. He was in Kentucky. You might want to put your earpiece. He was in Kentucky for a rally yesterday and he basically turned that rally into a victory lap. Let's um let's listen to what he has to say here. I'm not gonna I'll tell you when to stop, but let's just listen here what he has to say.
Is that a great name? Well, it's only good if you win. You know, you can only And we've won. Let me say we've won. You know, you never like to say too early you won. We won. We won. The best in the first hour it was over, but we won. But but they gave me a list of names that chose
Here. We won. We won. Within the first hour, it was over. Uh now, as the thing says, a few moments later, go to this next one. This is a US tanker carrying oil in the Persian Gulf. That next video, let's put that one up. Um and uh let's uh let's watch what happens to this US tanker. Okay.
I think there were four or five uh cargo ships blown up yesterday in the Gulf by Iran. So, while Trump is taking his victory lap, our boats are blowing up and oil is being lost.
You know what symbol goes along with George W. Bush his victory speech?
Mission accomplished.
And boy, just think of that. What was it a month or two later? Oh, we've accomplished. We got their oil. we're going to pay the bills and bragging about that. So that that uh reminds me of this and this is his this this that just what you just showed there that's going to be the symbol of this administration.
Yeah.
That's what I think will happen.
Well, I did find the one mention of the empire that you mentioned and there are a couple of other things. I know this will interest you. This is a this is a post that uh that President Trump took uh put out on Truth Social. I think it was earlier today. Uh, but it's interesting for a number of reasons, Dr. Paul, the US is the largest oil producer in the world by far. So when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money. So prices, high prices are good, I guess, is what he's saying here. But of far greater interest and importance to me as president is stopping an evil empire, Iran, from having nuclear weapons and destroying the Middle East and indeed the world. I won't ever let that happen. Thank you for your attention to this matter. So, yes, they had to stop the empire, the great Iranian Empire, which doesn't exist outside of their borders. Um, so, and I have a couple of clips now to show that this we've won. It's already over. Um, it's starting to fall apart. And I go to the next one. Uh, we don't know all the details about this one, but the USS Gerald Ford experienced a fire, but don't worry, it's not combat related. They may be telling the truth, but Dr. Paul, it's hard to believe anything they say anymore. Maybe one of the toilets blew up because remember they're having a lot of problems with the toilets. Now here's another one. An indication. Please, please, please. Denmark's energy minister begs citizens to stop driving as global energy stock shock spreads. And then one more, and we talked about this before, Dr. Paul, the situation is dire. Half of available global LNG tankers are trapped in the Persian Gulf. uh as many as 9,000 uh tankers are trapped. They can't get through. That's going to bring the world to a screeching halt. You know, we talk about words and language being very, very important. And when used properly, they are very influential. But when you use words carelessly trying to cover up a lie, they don't it doesn't work. People see through this. And I think a a lot of that's going on when you hear these speeches of how wonderful how wonderful things are going and all of a sudden you know uh things aren't exactly as they report but you know this adds to the number of people that is uh participating in a very positive movement. They're asking more questions about uh why should we trust our government?
Yeah. And uh and I think what was the start of uh this recent episode of why should we trust our government has been co you know and and that's still going on you know that that atmosphere still going on and now this can't help but you you know it still amazes me how how how long uh the memory lasts you'd think Vietnam like we talked about the draft the other day Vietnam they were tired of it all and they got rid of the draft and and all of a sudden the it was within five years they put the registration back up again, you know. So, so it it doesn't last forever. That's why this is a perpetual thing that you have to do is defend liberty because there's always these other people who want control that do not believe in liberty and they want the money. They have the money and uh the battle is a tough one. But uh I I think that's a cycle that we just go through endlessly in history. And uh there is a shift back and forth and right now I think the shift is away from these tyrants who want to tell us everything that uh that we're allowed to do or not not do. And you know they like yesterday I emphasized they they control our income and they control our property and they say well you own your property. No we rent our property. we had to pay rent, you know, just to even use or do anything with it. So I I think there's more people waking up, but there's still a lot of people very dependent on the the largest from government and the ones who are in control are very enamored by the power that they have and the influence they have in Washington and they have their way and then uh all of a sudden moral standards are dropping a bit and uh the they're still this battle is going on. Uh and yet I I I still think the when you go just by numbers, if you measure numbers, I think more people if they were honestly asked the question, what kind of a society would you have? And compare a libertarian society and and a result of anything leading toward libertarianism with all the other stuff that goes on and that what's happened to our system of government and it's a big mess and I think people are getting tired of it. But the answer there we have it in our history. Common sense tells you what to do and you know just uh just understanding the natural law would be a big help and that is not complex.
Yeah. Absolutely. Well, the second thing we want to talk about briefly is uh the new Ayatollah uh Moshaba Kamei the son of the murdered Ayatollah has made his first statement uh today. Uh and a couple of the highlights are um his first public message says the closure of the state of Hormuz should be continued as a tool to pressure the enemy. Now here we have I mean here we have an a perfect example Dr. Paul of asymmetric warfare. They are able to close that straight not because they have the more ships than we do, not because they have more bombs than we do. Not because they have more troops than we do. Because they can and so they will. That's asymmetric warfare. Now go to the next one. Mustaba vows to keep attacking US bases and signals that new fronts go back to that first new fronts could soon open. So they also have the ability to attack those bases. Dr. Paul, especially as we run out of interceptor missiles. Uh so the other things that are uh that are on this u uh this particular article uh northern Israel hammered by Hezbollah, largest wave of missiles since the war began. I don't know if anyone watched the video from that, but they launched a 100 missiles uh their biggest effort. It seemed to be coordinated uh with with Iran. Uh Israel took a pounding yesterday. Um now, energy secretary Chris Wright, this is like Captain Obvious here. He says the US Navy is not yet ready to escort tankers through the straight of Hormuz as military assets remain focused on degrading Iran's offensive capabilities. Now, I think it was um uh Larjani, the uh one of the leaders, uh he was trolling the US and he said, "We will allow any tanker to pass as long as you can get a US destroyer to accompany you." So, they're begging. They want to shoot down those destroyers and that's what they're begging for. So, again, you have asymmetric warfare, especially with Brent. I don't know what Brent is right now, but it was topping 100 earlier today. The gas is up. I drove by coming to the studio. It's it broke the $3 mark here. So, this is asymmetric warfare.
Well, if things aren't going so well, but there was one incident that happened or item that I think tells you a whole lot about it. And this one is Iran control of the straits of Hermoose means it's exporting more oil than before the war. Boy, that's a successful war going on. I wonder who dropped the most bombs or has wonder who stimulated and incited this war. And you know there still today they there are still people who believe that it's a 100% Iranian's fault. Yeah. You know and uh that that is just so crazy. But the irony of all this and and it just defies the individuals and they should understand that the freer market is the worse the the more economic benefits there are. Yeah. So, but they still come in and they come in in the midst of prosperity. We have all the oil in the world we want. Oh, yeah. But we better have a war on tariffs. That'll fix everything. You know, no, everybody's short and everybody's oil is going to be held up. I think that uh that the tactic now of stopping transportation is going to be a big deal because the more they use weapons the the more they make their problem worse. There'll be le less communication yet the answer to the of military conflict is trade. Yeah. So you destroy destroy the trade and think that we're going to have people come together and then what do you what's the next step? People are getting hungry at places where they shouldn't be getting hungry.
Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, you know, we don't point out these failings because we want to gloat over, you know, US assets being destroyed. I think the reason we cover this is because is to make the point, you don't go into war like this. You don't go into war, like we mentioned yesterday, because the president had a feeling that they might attack. That's why we have a constitution. That's why we have the obligation of Congress to be involved. Uh for that, I blame Congress more than the president. Um, so this is the reason we point this out. And another thing to point out is the new Ayatollah Mustaba Kamei. Uh, and we talked about it before, but if you put that next clip up, anyone thinking that he's going to be a moderate, well, just have a look at what happened. Uh, in the opening days of the opening seconds of the war, uh, the US and Israel killed his father, his mother, his wife, his son, his sister, his brother-in-law, his niece, his nephew. If I were in his shoes, I definitely wouldn't be uh holding out an olive branch of peace to people who did that to my family. So massive mistake.
That's just so hard to understand the lack of common sense and common decency for us to be, you know, doing our very best to expose the evil that causes these kind of problems. At the same time, they throw it in. Oh, you guys aren't very patriotic, are you? Don't you don't love America anymore. And then they put that put that uh guilt trip on a lot of people. And a lot of people, you know, I don't I have a sense that I don't like to do it, but why how could it be wrong to point out, you know, the errors of our way. And that's the reason I like the first amendment the best, you know, because it was meant it, like I say, it wasn't meant so we can talk about the bad weather. It was meant so you could criticize your government without being killed or put in prison for life. And that's what's happening now.
Yeah. Absolutely. I put one up for fun, Dr. Paul. Um, and I just grabbed this. So if there are if if uh but this is President Trump, you know, he went to Kentucky. You know, that he's endorsed uh this Ed Galin guy who's running against Massie. Uh he's convinced that Massie will lose. Well, you have Massiey's numbers, I believe, before before Trump came to town for his rally. Massie was at 52 to 51. Trump came in to try to push Galra and Massie went up to 67 to 37. So it's the opposite Midas touch there, Dr. Paul. That's just a little a little bit of a funny aside, but I'm going to close out. Uh this is my last day here in the saddle. I bet I bet a lot of people I'm back to Thomas. A lot of people might be cheering this morning to just see see a report like that. Love it. Yes. You know, it's so good to hear a report like that because when when you take a stand and it's very controversial and 80% of the people are are against you and uh the president comes out against you and you think, well, this is foolish. You're and and most most of the politicians there, yeah, I sort of agree with you, but I'm not I'm not going to give up my political career. This is a good job. So, they don't do it. But it turns out that just flat out telling the truth and following your oath becomes a political asset to you and
You know that.
So it's uh it's it's really uh it's really fascinating to see how human nature works because uh you compete you compete with 80% of the population and think well there's no winning it. But if you the truth seems to be much more powerful than people realize. So we encourage all our listeners to always tell the truth of in the best of your ability because if you live in a free society believing in liberty for the individual those are the society that become the most prosperous and the most peaceful and we're sort of for prosperity and peace.
