The third house describes the contacts we had in our young life and education up to high school level, our primary years. So, this is the area of life where we developed close to home and within the vicinity of our neighbors, in our neighborhood. And the third house is our immediate environment. So, it's what's closed rather than far. In the opposing ninth house is what's far. So, siblings and childhood friends who are like siblings are also found in the third house. And these are the relationships that prepare us to work with others, to cooperate and to share. So, they prepare us for actually the second stage of Mercury, which is Virgo, which is dealing with co-workers.
