Remember that robot that was so human-like? The CEO had to cut its leg open on stage to prove there wasn't a person inside. What that company did next is the actual story.

So, back in November, Xpeng unveiled a robot called Iron that walked so smoothly the internet swore it was an actor in a suit. People claimed they could see a human ear under the skin. The next day, the CEO came back, took scissors to the robot's leg live on stage, exposed the wiring, and the robot walked off with its leg cut open. The clip faded like every viral moment does.

But, then X made its real move. In February, they broke ground on a robot factory the size of 20 football fields. The first facility on Earth built to take a humanoid from research to mass production under one roof. The target is 1 million robots a year by 2030.

And 3 weeks ago, the CEO personally took over the robotics unit saying this moment feels exactly like the eve of delivering their first car. He thinks robots will become a $20 trillion market, roughly twice the size of the entire car industry. The robot everyone called fake now has a factory being built to produce a million robots a year.
