Is your dog's gut in danger? Imagine this is your dog's digestive tract. It looks healthy, but for a lot of dogs, something's wrong. They've got a buildup of really gross bacteria that can leak out and throw their whole system out of whack.
Warning signs of a bacterial imbalance are mushy poops, smelly odors, skin issues like paw chewing or scratching, fatigue, or weird behaviors like eating grass or chewing odd stuff around the house. Long-term gut issues can even lead to serious problems with their organs.
So, if you've noticed any of these warning signs, don't ignore them any longer because there's a few simple foods you can add to your dog's diet that will do wonders. One is broccoli. Broccoli is high in fiber and great for gut health, meaning it can help your dog get nice, clean poops. You can feed it to your dog raw or cooked, but avoid seasonings if you can find it.
Another great gut helper is chicory root. Chicory root is what we refer to as prebiotic fiber, meaning it feeds the good bacteria in your dog's gut. It's probably one of the most gut-healthy foods you can give your dog, and it's fantastic for digestion, odors, and really their whole body health.
One food to never give your dog is onions. These are good for human gut health, but toxic to dogs. Do not feed your dog onions.
Now, those are bad, but there's one other thing you should avoid at all costs because it can literally wreck your dog's health, and the problem is, it's in a lot of dog foods. Even so-called premium foods often contain this bad stuff that can lead to problems with joints, skin, digestion, even their organs.
The good news is, when you get the right foods in and the wrong foods out, it's a game changer. I can tell you from experience, this can change your dog's life.
