Before we lift our voices in prayer today, I want to remind you of something deeply personal, something that touches the very core of who we are. Each of us was born with a deep need to be loved, to be accepted just as we are. We long for someone who truly sees us, who knows our worst moments, and still chooses to stay. Yes, relationships with our family, friends, and partners can be beautiful blessings, but even the best human love has limits. What we're really longing for is found in one place only, in the love of our heavenly father.

His love is not like human love. It never runs out. It never fades. It doesn't depend on how well you behave or how many times you pray. You cannot earn it and you cannot lose it. God's love for you is constant, pure, unchanging. But for many of us, even as believers, that's hard to truly believe. Life shapes our picture of God. Maybe your earthly father wasn't there for you. Or maybe people let you down. Maybe church felt like a place of rules more than grace. And slowly we begin to wonder, is God really that good? Could he really still love me after all I've done?

Let me tell you this with all my heart. Yes, he does. He always has. Romans 8:38-39 says, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nothing means nothing. Not your mistakes, not your fears, not your failures, not even your doubts.

Still, we've all been there. We've fallen short. We've made decisions that broke our own hearts. We've lied, hidden things, acted selfishly, or gone back to sins we said we'd left behind. And in those moments, we feel far from God, ashamed, afraid, unsure if we can ever come back. But Isaiah 54:10 gives us this hope. "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you."

This is who God is. Not a distant judge waiting to punish you, but a loving father waiting to embrace you. When Moses stood before God in Exodus 34, even after the people had built a golden idol and turned away, God came down in a cloud and said, "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." That's our God. A God who meets you where you are, not where you pretend to be. a God who is full of mercy, not just once but always.

So today, as we get ready to pray, I invite you to let go of the shame, the fear, and the lies. Come back home in your heart. Because the truth is, God's love has never left you, and it never will. Now, let us pray.

Gracious and loving Father, I come before you today with a heart that longs for more of you. Not more information or just more head knowledge, but a deep personal and honest relationship with you. I want to know you as you really are. Full of compassion, slow to anger, rich in mercy, and overflowing with faithful love. You are not distant. You are not angry with me. You are not watching from afar, waiting for me to fail. No, you are near. You are gentle. You are kind. And today, I pause to thank you for being patient with me, for loving me even in my weakest moments, and for never giving up on me.

Father, I admit there have been many times I've misunderstood you. Life has taught me things about love that are broken. People have walked away from me. Words have hurt me. Promises have been broken. So sometimes I've expected you to be the same. I've feared that you might leave too. That your love might run out one day. I've doubted if I'm truly lovable after all the times I've fallen short. But deep down I know those thoughts are not from you. They are lies I've believed for far too long. And today I want to let those lies go. I want to trust what you've said about yourself. I want to hold tightly to your promises and believe that your love truly never fails.

Lord, you are not surprised by my struggles. You already know my weakness. You know the things I try to hide, the parts of my life that feel too messy, too broken. And yet you don't turn away. You draw closer. You stand with me just like you stood with Moses even after the people had failed. You came down. You met him. You declared your name. You didn't condemn him. You revealed your mercy. That's who you are.

So, Father, I bring every heavy burden to you today. Every weight of shame, every moment of failure, every thought that tells me I'm not enough. I lay it all at your feet. I give you the guilt I've carried, the insecurity that's haunted me, and the feeling that I have to perform to be accepted. I don't want to wear those chains anymore. Help me to see myself the way you see me. Not as a failure, but as a beloved child. Not as dirty, but as washed clean by the blood of Jesus. Not as rejected, but as chosen and embraced.

Thank you, Jesus, for making that possible. Thank you for carrying my sin to the cross. Thank you for facing the judgment I deserved so that I could receive the love I don't deserve. You gave everything for me, not because I was perfect, but because you are perfect in love. You made a way when I had none. You opened the door back to the father's heart. And now, because of you, I can come boldly, not as a stranger, but as a son, as a daughter, as someone fully known and still fully loved.

Help me, Lord, to rest in that truth. When the voice of shame whispers in my ear, silence it with your grace. When I'm tempted to run and hide, remind me that you are my safe place. When I feel weak, remind me that your strength is made perfect in weakness. When I feel unloved, remind me that your love is everlasting. I want to live in the freedom you died to give me. A freedom that says you are accepted. A freedom that says you belong. A freedom that is not based on my goodness, but yours.

Father, I confess that sometimes I run in circles trying to fix myself, trying to earn your favor, trying to prove my worth. But your word has shown me that I don't have to do that anymore. You already love me. You already chose me. You already see me as your own. I don't have to fight for your attention. I already have it. I don't have to beg for your love. You've already poured it out. So today, I choose to rest. I rest in your arms. I rest in your grace. I rest in the truth that you are near. I rest in the peace that comes from knowing you are for me and not against me.

You are my father. You are my shepherd. You are my refuge and hiding place. You are the one who lifts my head when I'm too tired to lift it myself. You are the one who puts songs back in my heart when it's been silent too long. You are the one who reminds me that I still have purpose even when I feel disqualified. I thank you, Lord, for not giving up on me. Even when I've gone the wrong way. Even when I've ignored your voice, even when I've fallen again and again, still you've never walked away, you have always welcomed me back. You've always drawn me with kindness. You've always waited with open arms. And that love is healing me. It's restoring my heart. It's rebuilding the broken places in me that I thought could never be whole again.

Lord, I don't want to just be someone who hears about your love. I want to live in it. I want to walk in it. I want it to change the way I think, the way I speak, and the way I treat others. Help me to love people the way you love me with patience, compassion, and gentleness. Help me to be quick to forgive just as you have forgiven me. Let your love shine through me so that others may come to know who you really are. Not a God of condemnation, but a God of comfort. Not a God who demands perfection, but one who draws near to the brokenhearted and gives grace to the humble.

Thank you, Lord, that you never grow weary of me. Thank you for the gentle way you teach me. Thank you for walking with me through every season, even the ones I brought on myself. Your love never gives up. Your love never grows cold. And so I pray today, not for more blessings, but for more of you. Not for more answers, but for more awareness of your presence, not for more strength, but for a deeper trust in the strength that you already supply. I trust you with my heart. I trust you with my pain. I trust you with my story. No matter how many times I fall, I will keep getting back up because I know you are with me. I know you are for me. I know you are guiding me home. And on the days when I can't take another step, I know you will carry me.

So I lift my hands in surrender. I lift my voice in praise. I lift my heart to the one who never lets go. In the name of my savior, my healer, my redeemer, and my closest friend. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
