Every soul carries a unique innate genius that only it has. You know you're living your personal myth when you feel like you're making love.
Generally, the more mature the soul is, the tougher the beginnings it takes on so that it can learn to have empathy and compassion for other people that are suffering through the same challenges. When pain comes into your life, it's a catalyst that you get to work with. It's the resistance that you need to grow emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. Pain, the pain teacher, is always increasing awareness. It's quickening consciousness. You hit your finger with a hammer; you're usually a lot more aware of where your fingers are at after that.
Ultimately, all addictions are attempts to get safe love. Unfortunately, if we get safe love from a substance or from a distraction, we're actually adding more shadow. Anything that you do to another living being, you do to God. These entities were typically spirits. A lot of them were once human that went through a lot of trauma and developed a deep hate for God. Every thought you think is a spirit. And when you think negative thoughts toward yourself or others, or destructive thoughts, you actually create a thought-form entity that is that thought. I actually had to do healing work on the entity to get them out. And that trying to push them out just resulted in a battle. We would start these ceremonies, and all of these positive beings would come. Anybody in the room with entities would go off. It'll rock you to your core.
When you really see how dark things can get, as Alan Watts said, life implies death, self implies other. And on this podcast with Paul Czech, we're talking about how God implies the devil and how these light and dark forces work within us and work outside of us. And most importantly, how we can become the hero of our own story, the master of our fate, the captain of our destiny, someone who's in contact with our soul and reaching towards our potential. And in order to do that, Paul has a particular practice around building your own personal myth, which I believe to be a profound gift for anyone listening to this podcast. And there are dozens of other pearls. So, I can't wait to share with you this podcast with my good friend Paul Czech.
Paul, we're back. We're back. We're back. It's been a while. It's been a minute, but we found each other again.
Indeed. Indeed. At the Rainbow, at the Rainbow House. What a beautiful home. Thanks for your hospitality. It's been great to stay here. Super nourishing for myself.
I've been waiting for you, baby.
Yeah. Let's go. I want to go back in time to the first moment, if there is a moment where you made a real sacred commitment, an oath to give yourself to God.
Um, it happened when I was in a really scary, challenging time in my life. My father drowned when I was eight. My mother had separated from him when I was three. And my stepfather was a very violent man and had no concept of a child whatsoever. And from age 7 through 12, my father just worked the hell out of us on the farm. It was just like no time to play, no sense of a child. It was just work, work, work, school, work, work, work every day. And whenever we didn't have chores to do on the animals, he would make us go out in the fields and pick rocks because the rocks would damage the farm equipment, the plows and the rakes and everything else. And I just was so heartbroken. I missed my father so much. And I just was so scared all the time. And I was out in the middle of a field about 10 acres big all by myself. And I just got so angry at God. And I just reached a breaking point where I thought I did I just felt like I didn't want to live anymore.
Mhm. And I was crying and I just was so cold and it was rainy and nasty and wintry on Vancouver Island. I, you know, I was a Los Angeles boy. So, like being in the first year we were there, it was 8 ft of snow and it was just cold and wet all the time and I just hated it.
How old were you?
I was 12 at this time and I just got so mad at God and I just started screaming at God. I just said, "Why? Why did you take my father away? Why am I with this man that beats my mother and beats us up?" And and I just went on, and all of a sudden from every direction, from inside of me, from outside of me, from around me, above me, below me, this most Earl Jones-like voice that sounded as deeply feminine as it was masculine said, "Don't worry. Your life is of purpose. Be patient." And it scared the living hell out of me.
Wow. And I looked everywhere and I'm literally standing in the middle of an empty field by myself. And this was it made every atom of my body vibrate. And I had no context for an experience like that. And so that was my first direct experience of what I would call God.
And then when I was 19, I was working in on exploration and water well drilling crew. And again, I found myself covered in drill mud and working hard. And you know, I had to do whatever I had to do because I became a father when I just turned 18 and neither of our parents had any money. So it was do or die, you know. And I just reached another breaking point where I thought, is this all my life is going to be drilling holes in the ground? Like I know I'm here to do something more than that. And we were drilling on an island. We had to take a ferry to get to. And on the way back, everybody's cold and wet. And the guys went upstairs for coffee. And and I just felt like I had to talk to God. And we were in a big International 5000 semitr with a drill rig on the back. And I was in the passenger seat. And I just closed my eyes and and just just I knew God was real because of that previous experience. And I just I said, "God, you told me my life would be a life of meaning." You know, here I am freezing and covered in mud and I just feel like all I'm doing is drilling holes in the earth. Is this all my life is going to be? And I had no expectation. And I just felt I had to talk to God because I was feeling that futility, that flat land, the emptiness of of why, you know, I just knew that there was more to me than that. And again, the voice came and it was the same voice and the same experience. And here I am in the bottom of a ferry and and it's like it's coming from every direction. I'm like, God, I wonder if other people are hearing this. It's pretty scary. And the voice said, "Don't worry. You will become a massage therapist. You will be able to have your own schedule. You will be able to create the life you want and your life will be of purpose." And I thought first I when I this time it wasn't quite as scary cuz I ah you're back.
Sure. But I thought a massage therapist. I don't know anything about massage. And I I just instantly remembered when I was a child, I had really bad asthma. And my grandmother, who we were just looking at a picture of, was the only one that could take my asthma away. And she would massage my chest and my neck and my back. And her touch was so amazing. And she could calm me so much that my asthma would disappear, sometimes for a day. And I thought, "Oh my god, massage, my grandma."
Uh-huh. And long story made short, I found myself in the 82nd Airborne Division. I was representing the Army in Triathlon while fighting on the boxing team. And I was physically exhausted from training seven, eight hours a day, seven days a week.
Yeah. Trying to, you know, win at both of these sports, which I was successful at. But I got so sore I just begged my wife Sue to massage me. And I got some baby oil or whatever we could conjure up. And she didn't know what she was doing. But it made such a world of difference. And it made me perform better and recover better. And I thought, my god, I've got to start studying massage. And so I bought every book I could find on sports massage. And I became the trainer of the Army boxing team. I started the first massage program in the army and I just studied and practiced and the team doctor was an osteopathic physician and I learned how to take care of sports injuries for two years on the job in the biggest gym in the 82nd Airborne Division, which is Fort Bragg, which is 79,000 soldiers. So that's where all the Army elite athletes train, the track and field guys. James Bone Crusher Smith was so impressed with what I was doing. His trainer Emil Griffith asked me if I would take care of James, and he became my first paying client in my life.
Mhm. And um it dawned on me that I was in the army doing massage therapy for 30 of the best fighters in the world. It was blowing their minds. They were performing much better. The coaches were amazed. The team doctors said, "Whatever the hell you're doing, keep doing it because all these injuries that we used to have are almost gone."
Right? And that's how my whole career began.
Mhm. So there's my first two real God experiences.
Mhm. It's interesting, you know, I've had my own God experiences, came not, you know, serendipitously like that. They came through the medicine journeys and consistently I had, you know, consecutive God experiences. But even though I knew that there was a deeper dedication to the God that I knew was real, so I had full nosis, you know, that God was God was true and real. And I started to explore what that realness actually meant as it lived within me, beyond me, all around me and understand like the godhead, the atman, the Brahma and the whole thing started to feel and explore. But it was only really recently that I actually made this kind of hard line in the sand to say like, God, I give myself to you and create this sanctuary of my heart with God. And then really started and it came actually through a sound meditation from a new brother Alexandru, and he was just playing Sufi music with their crying of passion to God, and everything was tuned in the perfect right harmony and I'd experienced my own, you know, suffering internally a lot like my own challenges, my own stress, my own addictive patterns, my own things and I could feel the kind of degradation of myself and also the vulnerability of my sensitivity as I'd outsourced my image of God to my beloveds or to my friends or to other people and then they would in some way disappoint me or their natural human emotions would swift would would sway and shift and then I would get so like devastated inside that I realized the only real path forward was a fullhearted commitment to give myself to God like entirely. And there's a there's a Sufi song that I'm listening to and they talk about that process and it says, you know, and now I can be a man. And I really resonated with that. It was like there was some part of me that wasn't in the full expression of my divine masculine as long as my heart wasn't really fully devoted to God.
Yeah. And I I would also take man to be human, right? To be fully human, right? Um, you know, I never really directly answered your question. I told you about my first God experience, but but my my real commitment to God came as a sort of a sideways experience. You know, I I started fighting competitively when I was 12. I was a boxer and a kickboxer. And when I was fighting on the Army boxing team, it was tough going. I was the only white guy on the team for a long time. And when I first joined the team, they were constantly trying to kill me. They didn't like a white guy on the boxing team. I had to break three noses and two different ribs before they finally respected me. The three other noses, not mine.
Mhm. Um I got three broken noses as well.
Uh yes. Um I had to earn my respect.
Sure. But when I became the trainer and started doing all the massage work and I was also in charge of nutrition. So I wrote all their training programs. I did their massage therapy. I did all their diets and I managed the entire gym and then anytime I had I got to go train for triathlon. But what happened to me was I had the realization that I was happy for the first time in my life because I was helping other people achieve their goals.
Mhm. And it I realized that if I was to turn pro, even if I was to win a world title and make a lot of money, I would ultimately not have the joy that I get from helping other people.
Mhm. And so I was 22 at that time and that's when I realized what I was here to do and I made a commitment. It's making me emotional. I'm sorry. But um I won the 82nd Airborne Division Championship and I knocked the guy out really bad and unfortunately detached his retina and it really hurt me inside that I hurt this guy. And I made a commitment after that that I would devote my life to helping other people achieve their dreams and and live the best life I could help them live.
Mhm. And that was my commitment to God was to not use my athletic ability to hurt people, but to help them. And I had to hurt somebody else really bad to realize that I didn't want to hurt people anymore. It took me till I was 24 to finally hang up the gloves and say, "Okay, I don't need to, you know, my my my martial arts career began as out of fear that my father was going to hurt somebody and I had to be ready to protect him me against him or my brothers and sisters or my mother." And interestingly, when I had this realization, I went one day to all the fighters because we would all uh get in a circle to start each of our practices on um Olympic wrestling mats. And so I had all 30 of them there and I said, I have a question for all of you guys that I want to ask if you don't mind. I said, 'How, raise your hand if the reason you became a fighter was because you were afraid of your father and thought you Monday might have to fight for your life and defend yourself against him. Guess how many hands went up?
I would imagine the majority.
28.
Wow.
28 of the 30 of the best amateur fighters in the world started their career out of fear that if they didn't learn to fight, their father was going to hurt them or someone in their family.
Uh-huh. And I realized I realized then what I later came to understand through deep study of mythology that there is built into every family what is called necessary abandonment and that if our family upbringing was too perfect, we would never grow out of the child archetype and step into our authentic individual uality.
Mhm. And that generally the more mature the soul is, the tougher the beginnings it takes on so that it can learn to have empathy and compassion for other people that are suffering through the same challenges.
M and so I realized that my very challenging beginnings was what I had to go through to understand the pain that people would come to me for the rest of my life that would be manifesting as various types of illnesses, digestive disorders, heart problems, diseases, cancer, chronic pain that wouldn't go away. And because I had this root understanding early in my career, I began doing a survey of each person's life history from birth to then and mapping out all their traumas and then looking for the correlations between the actual insult and their perception and their belief and then mapping it out through the brain, brain and the nervous system to see which parts of the body they were storing the psychic energy. Then using maps like the Dowist maps and the Chinese emotional maps to correlate their anger, their grief, their resent, their sadness, their pain. And sure enough, I found the Dowists and the Chinese medicine people gave me the key to a lock because once I knew what your pain was, I could work backwards through the system to get to the underlying emotions and then I could inquire about the beliefs that were behind the judgments that were connected to the emotions that led that resulted from the trauma. And so was able to actually start working with people to identify what their dream for their life was now and how to find ways to understand and make meaning out of how the traumatic experiences actually gave them the strength, the courage or the capacity to have the empathy and compassion that they ultimately needed to fulfill that dream.
Mhm. And once people were able to connect those dots, it created a big shift in them, they went often from being in the victim archetype to stepping into their self-actuation and and and moving forward with their life.
It's interesting to hear you share this because, you know, I had a little bit of, you know, trauma growing up. My father would lose his temper, but mostly my childhood was quite beautiful. My mother and grandmother loved me, you know, almost impeccably, like virtually unconditionally. And and so I had a really steady base. And then it seemed like God has metered out, you know, challenge and difficulty in interesting different levels, you know, betrayals of the brother, my father, losing, you know, losing control of his mind, being really captured by the dark forces, the entity that's known by many names with Tiko. I call it anti-u. You know, ending up dying in isolation, isolated from his family and his own psychosis with mythologically was, you know, a different story that that can be told. And uh, you know, car accidents, these little things that have happened here and there and my own, you know, suffering with relationships and addictions and internal things. And it's uh, it's been an interesting journey for me because it's felt like, you know, in a way that that suffering has been metered.
Mhm. and interposed with, you know, great beauty and great love and great success and um but I think in the grand measure of things, you know, God's just been like, "Okay, here's your next here's your next challenge." And then depending on how I respond to that challenge, it creates the next step of my evolution, which is what ultimately, you know, drove me to this last stage that I'm in. I'm sure there'll be many more throughout my life of the full commitment to God.
Mhm. as the safe harbor. But if it wasn't for the challenges and the difficulty, I don't think I ever would have quite got there. If everything worked out perfectly, I wouldn't have. But it's been an interesting steady steady metriculation of of challenge and trauma.
Yeah. You know, I created the term the pain teacher. And I think um I think our souls organize opportunities, events, situations that are meant to challenge us. But I've learned that the pain teacher shows up to direct your awareness to exactly where you need it to grow so that you can come face to face with your largely unconscious limitations.
Uh-huh. And that's, you know, we're going to get into it, but that's I think doing real shadow work, there's a lot of fluffy shadow work out there, what I call new age stuff, but doing honest shadow work, which is not easy to do for most people, um, can avoid a lot of those visits from the pain teacher because most of what draws those painful experiences into our life is the the beliefs, the judgments, the choices, and the actions that we're acting out. Often not realizing that we're just recapitulating mom and dad or um ancestral trauma and ancestral patterns such as addiction and and violence, you know, all the stuff that you know about. But I found that one of the problems as a therapist that I've had to deal with, and it's a real problem, is that because we have this habit of putting people on drugs to numb them. And because alcohol is such a popular numbing drug that people in our culture don't actually confront, work with, embrace, and learn from the pain. They keep wanting to cut it out or drug it out.
Mhm. And so what happens is the pain teacher has to keep coming back and coming back until you actually face the mirror. And instead of saying it's somebody else's fault, you you have to you have to embrace the fact that you're 50% of every relationship. And at some point, you know, it's like how many divorces or lost jobs or financial crisis do you go through before you actually face the mirror and say, "Okay, what's my part in all this? I can't just keep blaming it on other
People. And until a person actually gets to the point where they're really ready to be honest with themselves and at least take responsibility for their 50% of every relationship, I think that, you know, you just keep running into your your your own shadow in the form of whatever it takes for the soul to get you to finally look inward. And it can take people a long time.
Yeah. It can take people, you know, some people never get there because they just keep drugging it out and and just playing the victim and and sabotaging themselves and prostituting themselves. And unfortunately, our whole culture is conditioned to not accept responsibility for their pain because there's, you know, trillions of dollars being made on subverting that and covering it up with drugs and surgeries. And so, you know, we we are we're in we're really in a cultural um we're in a cultural initiation because we're at the point now where, you know, as Bobby Kennedy would be the first one to tell you, we we can't go any further down this road because our children are so sick that our future is is really can't exist in a pill bottle, or we're there is no future. We can't we can't avoid what we're creating individually and collectively. The earth itself can't take it anymore. So, we're in a real initiation.
Yeah. Amen.
During my 11-year tenure with On It, we created a lot of revolutionary formulas. None more revolutionary than our flagship Alpha Brain. It's a product that I take every single day still to this day. And then after I sold on it in 2021, I came across a particular ingredient. It's a metabolite of caffeine, which means that it's something that the body naturally breaks caffeine down into. And it's called parisanthine. And then I found that ingredient. And I said, "Huh, this is doing a lot of what I wish caffeine would do, but it's not having the negative effects that I experienced with caffeine. It's making me feel more alive, more energized, more clear in my mind, but it's also not sending me down that caffeine roller coaster." Then I said, "Huh, what if we surrounded this with the best natural ingredients to create a really revolutionary formula?" And we did it. And so I created a new company called Correct with a K housed on Correct.Life called Correct Energy. And it's absolutely as much of a revolution as Alphabrain ever was. Alphabrain worked on the acetylcholine neurotransmitter designed to give you more focus. And this works on the dopamine pathway which is really like the go mechanism for the body. So whether you're working out, working hard, writing, anything that you're doing, playing with your kids, correct energy is going to be an absolute revolution in how you're able to interact with life with the vim and vigor and passion that you know is truly you. One of the things about this product is it just feels like you have more of you available. Doesn't change who you are. It doesn't change your mindset. It just gives you more of the best of yourself. So if you're interested, check it out at [Music] correct.life.
So let's go into the shadow work. I know that was one of the directions we want to go to. I want to talk about how to build your own personal myth and but let's go into the shadow work first. So the shadow is as I understand it is that thing that you cannot see that you're looking away from. You might have some awareness that it's there. I'm interested if there's a correlation between the pain teacher actually pointing towards something in the shadow and if that's part of the the process is like really looking at the pain, you know, dealing with it, feeling it, biting down on the mouthpiece if you have to, you know, dropping into prayer if you have to, whatever you have to do, correcting the the root cause of it. But if that So does the pain teacher lead you to clues about the shadow? But if not, how do you find that thing which you cannot see?
Well, I think there's a few questions there. The pain teacher is always increasing awareness. It's quickening consciousness. You know, if you hit your finger with a hammer, you're usually a lot more of where your fingers are at after that.
Yeah. you know, um, you know, anytime I've hurt myself, be it in sports or any way, I've always become much almost hyper aware. Okay, I've got to be conscious of that because that like going through a divorce should make you conscious of what led to the divorce, and if it doesn't, you're going to do it again because you're still not paying attention to your 50% of the creative process. Um, so I think the pain is always the outcome of beliefs and actions and choices. Like choices, beliefs lead to choices and choices lead to actions and actions lead to results. That's the law of karma really. Action reaction. So if a person can pay attention to things like okay this is the third time I've been through a divorce and interestingly all three women said the same stuff about me. You don't pay attention. You're too self-absorbed. You don't care about your children. All you care about is work. You know whatever. There's a pattern. And I've watched this. You know, I've coached countless people through relationship problems because they're almost always involved in people's diseases and health problems. And so, at some point, you start to to to get to the point where you're getting enough feedback, you have to decide, am I willing to look at me or am I just going to keep projecting it outward? So, but Jung really hit the bullseye when he said, "Your unconscious will continue to meet you on the outside in the events of your life until you meet it on the inside and you will call it fate."
So when we realize that like most people are very unconscious to how much creative power they have and one of the ways I help my patients wake up to this and my clients is I say look you know cuz they'll come to me in often a very bad state and they'll you know this is wrong my health's wrong my relationships are all screwed up you know I got financial problems whatever And I'll say, you know what I'd like you to do is look at this. I say, you know, how bad is your spousal relationship right now of 10? Well, it's a 9.5. How bad is your financial situation? It's 8 and 1 half out of 10. So, I I try to give them a rating scale. And I say, 'Well, if you could create the opposite out of each of that and your financial state was an 8 and 1 half out of 10 positive and your relationship was a 9 and 1 half out of 10 positive, would you be happy? Well, of course I would, they say. I said, 'Well, do you realize that all you need to do is use the same exact creative agency and the same level of effort that you've used to create what you don't want to create what you do want. But you've got to get clear on it and you've got to get the discipline and then you've got to stop watching for what's getting in the way of you creating what you want. And that's the beginning of shadow work. You've got to start paying attention.
So people say well how do I see that? I say well the first thing you can do that anybody can do and this is the Sufis teach this if you were ever to go into teaching with a Sufi master that one of the first things they do is have you start carrying around a notebook and writing every judgment that comes through your head against yourself against others against anything. And so the beginning of shadow work is just to start watching the unconscious percolation. Somebody that's overweight walks by and you hear yourself inside say what a fat you know and and then I then you then then I always would say do you realize if God is God that you are looking at God if God is God there can't be anything else here this is doesn't require a whole lot of rationality I mean either that or you just don't understand what the word God means so the if if you start to see that God is everywhere where and is everything. And you realize that every one of those judgments is separating you from God, which is separating you from source, which is separating you from the flow of your creative agency. And that by definition, because God is prime source, you get to choose what you turn pure potential or unconditional love into, because you can't know or see or experience God as that which is unconditional because you can't have any way to relate to the unconditional. There's nothing to relate to there. It's pure potential. So once you realize that it is your intention conscious or unconscious that takes zero which is the symbol for that which is unconditional and turns it into the flow of energy and information. And because God has to experience everything to know itself, God doesn't say, "I only want to experience the good." There could be no good without the opposite, dark or evil. So ultimately, what I learned and what I show people is you got to look carefully at your judgment and say, "What is my intention?" Well, when you call somebody a fat your intention is to somehow make yourself feel better and put them down below you and to make a statement that there's something wrong with that person, but you're separating yourself from that person. Judgments cut. Judgments are knives. So once you start paying attention to your judgments and then you take one step back and you say, "Okay, what was my real intention to say that to that person, which could be a lot of different things, you might have to sit for 15 or 20 minutes because most people are unconscious of their intentions and often times they don't realize that they're just acting out their father's behavior or somebody else's behavior. That that's you know you have no free will when you're in that level of programming. So part of recognizing the shadow elements in the unconscious is just to take time each day to observe. And in in my spirit gym program I teach Plutinus's teaching that the soul has three key aspects. One is the abiding function which is the everpresent witness which only God can create a soul. And so all souls are really God consciousness within any sentient being.
Mhm. So God's always abiding because God's what's having the experience of being Aubrey or being a dog, a cat or a microorganism. And we also have the capacity in the soul for reflection which is memory. Without memory, we wouldn't know who we are. I mean, if I waved a magic wand and got rid of your memory, I and I said, "What's your name?" You wouldn't know who are. You wouldn't know. This is why they say about Alzheimer's, the greatest thing about Alzheimer's disease is you get to meet new people every day. So, without memory, the soul has no context for self-awareness and self-realization. So, we have abiding, which is consciousness itself, what I call big C, the witness. We have reflection which holds the memory of all our past experiences. But the soul also has the capacity to represent itself. So when we're doing shadow work and maybe we're in an intimate relationship and you know they grow you. Maybe your dream was to have some really good sex last night, but you actually made a off-color comment before bed that resulted in you sleeping with your back to your wife instead of making love. And so if you're smart, you'll think, "Okay, that didn't work out very well. Why did I say that? It was so childish and unnecessary. It didn't make anything better between us." You know, you have to say, why did I do that? Right? So, you you just start to become more aware and you see, ah, you know, all it took is one little snide or sarcastic comment to put a poke where it didn't need to be to create separation.
Mhm. And so then you can see, rewind the tape. What if I said, "Honey, you sure are beautiful and I cannot wait to just eat you alive." it would have been a very different outcome. But all you did was change the polarity and change the intention, which means you're more conscious of your creative agency. So, one who does not look into the shadow keeps making the same snide comments and sleeping with their back and going through divorces and raising children that think that's how you relate to people, and they go deeper and deeper into it because the more pain they create, the more likely they far are to fall into the victim archetype and think it's always somebody else's fault and and then the next thing you know they're drinking too much alcohol or having addictions to subvert the pain. You know, I found that ultimately all addictions are attempts to get safe love. And unfortunately, if we get safe love from a substance or from a distraction like working too much or, you know, exercising endlessly or torturing oursel with food restrictions or whatever, we're not really looking at what we're doing, right? We're we're avoiding it in whatever way we can. And so you're actually adding more shadow because every one of those addictions and distractions is taking you further and further into the story that you're creating. Story means myth. Myth means story. That you don't want to live. And we know you don't want to live because you walk around whining, bitching, complaining about it to everybody.
Yeah. But you keep doing it.
Yeah. And so the point I'm making is I found in my work with my patients is if I could actually help them understand what God is and understand that they have all that power and all that agency inside of them. And if you don't believe me, I say just walk around telling people how ugly and how stupid they are and treat them poorly and watch what happens in your life. Give I'll give you one day for the experiment and then go around and hug people find things beautiful to say about them and inspire them and watch how quickly your life changes and then with the one day of negative and one day of positive now look back on your life and just tally up how many days did I create love and joy and harmony and offer it to others because I had already created it in myself and how many days did I just recapitulate the very people that drove me crazy as a child and most people now become very aware of a shadow and it's not so shadowy anymore and now it's the question of are you willing to do the work to peel the layers and so I built a structure to show you how to begin real shadow work and where to look because I know where most of the problems come from because I've been doing this for 31 years and I had to do it for myself and I still do every day.
All right, I want to get into that in a little more detail, but I want to, you know, this evokes in me a a teaching from Yeshua, which, you know, I I might be paraphrasing, but I believe it says, "That which you do to the least of us, you do to me." And he was speaking in the in the God voice in the divine. So, anything that you do to another living being, you do to God, which is exactly what you're saying. And then in the deepest understandings in my own interactions with the spirit of Yeshua that's come rarely to offer very precise wisdom to me in in difficult experiences I saw a deeper meaning of behold I make all things new because there was a gaze that saw the divine even beneath the shadow beneath the whatever even dark expressions were being expressed by that human being. And I think that's clearly the way with with human beings. But it gets more difficult when you're looking at non-dimensional entities of malice and sometimes the possession of people by those non-dimensional entities of malice. And you know, you even shared a story of your own harrowing encounter with a dark non you know, non-corporeal entity of malice. And you know, you I had many.
Yeah. I shared the one with that came with the co disease. So that one and it and also then you know you have two two moments from Yeshua. One he's on the cross soldiers are throwing dice to see who gets the garment after he's being horribly crucified in one of the worst torture systems ever developed. Right? And he says you know father forgive them for they know not what they do. And he saw in that in that moment even his you know torturers you know he saw the divine in them. And that was one of his last most potent transmissions that everybody knows. But also throughout his journey, you'll hear him say things like, "Get thee behind me, Satan." Not like, "Satan, I see you and I love you and you know, let's let's dance." Now, in a psychedelic journey, I've seen how actually the Christ consciousness can even love with the devil anti-u in a in a certain way because of the balance that's necessary for the cosmos. But us in human form, there is a really it feels like a a sharp sort of discretion with these darker darker forces and entities and the people possessed by them where you know and so I'm curious your the way that you go about loving loving the source but also holding that that warrior's sharp gleaming sword to say not today, not on this earth, you know, I'm going to put on an iron shirt and kick the devil out Earth like Mac Max Max Romeo said like basically like back the up, not stay away from our kids, stay away from our family, you know, get out of here. Get thee behind me, Satan. It's a tricky road right there. Um, and I've had to deal with it a lot. Um, COVID brought a lot of my military programming and the tendency to react to evil with evil, with violence, right? Like I I really felt that it was my duty as a soldier to get a bunch of elite soldiers together and go get clean up some of the players that were acting with evil, right? Um, but I really, you know, my soul said to me, you realize that you will be doing exactly what they're doing and justifying it, but just from the opposite polarity. So, you're going down to that level. Um, G Jesus in the Bible says, "If someone hits you, turn the other cheek." But I wasn't turning the other cheek.
Sure. I was like saying, "I'm going to use fire to fight fire." And it's a very tricky thing when when you when you can see how much damage is being done to people and all the everything that you know about the greed, the lies, the manipulation. But there's something I want to share with you because I've, as you know, I've done a lot of deep shamanic work. Um, I've done approximately a thousand ceremonies in my career, often very deep. Most of the people that come to work with me are people that are want to go real deep and they want someone that can hold space for that type of ceremony. Um, so these aren't your typical five g journeys like we're talking, you know, to the I'm aware to where you're
Yeah, I know you are. But but we're talking like to the edge of psychic dissolve and and and you know that kind of experience and and I've encountered plenty of entities not only in myself but I've had to help many people in ceremony because once the unconscious once the default mode network breaks down then everything that's working in your unconscious comes blazing through because you don't have any means of repressing it. You don't have any you know way to hold it back.
Sure. Um, and and what I found because I've had people with like 30 or 40 entities in them. I mean, I've I've had patients that that were scary for me to work with. Um, there was times when I had to really do a lot to protect myself and I had to study this stuff a lot. Uh, I used to have a whole regalia that I would put on, whether it be garlic cloves and and certain colors and symbols and things that I felt I had to wear because I was facing things that scared me. And and you know, a lot of people think this is but I'm telling you, when you really come face to face with this, it'll it'll it'll rock you to your core when you really see how dark can get. But the point I'm driving at is what I found I had to do to really get an effective entity extraction is I had to go meet the entity and I had to treat it like a human being and I had to say who are you? Why are you here? What is it that you want from this person? And ultimately what I found is these entities were were typically spirits, a lot of them that were once human that went through a lot of trauma and developed a deep hate for God. And really just went the other way.
Yeah. And you know then you know you can get into some kind of esoteric type situations where you have some that worship the devil and because the devil is really um depends on how you look at
The devil. The devil is ultimately the collection of the combined psychic energies of all the people that have created acts of immorality, or anti-life, or greed. So the devil is really the psychic entity that is the collection of all of humanity's own darkness. Mhm. Um, an aggregor, which is terribly real. Um, and so I found that I actually had to do healing work on the entities, right, to get them out, and that trying to push them out just resulted in a battle and them getting very nasty with me, like saying, "Fuck you. You're next," and me having to defend myself against some of these things. And some of the things I've seen are downright scary. I mean, I'm talking exorcist-level stuff. Uh, I won't tell you a long story, but I'll tell you I had uh, in one of my holistic lifestyle coaching programs in Australia, I used to do healing ceremonies.
I would take the most unhealthy, broken-down person in the group and my co-instructor, Dr. Cliff Oliver, who's a very skilled healer and musician. We would do a healing for the person in the room to show them, my practitioners, my students, how you could do healings for people, and that you, you know, that this could really supplement because sometimes it takes more than supplements and exercises and diet and lifestyle changes. But when we would start these healings, I would do a prayer and I would call in all the angels of healing, love, and light. And I would call in all souls that would come on behalf of this individual to support their healing and their growth into their true life potential. I would call any shaman that has wisdom to share that can support me in this and any healers. And often times the whole room would be full of angels and healers and shaman, and I would just let them guide me. And I would use a combination of rattles, drums, tuning forks, uh, a variety of tools depending on where I was at and what I could carry.
And um, whenever we would start these ceremonies and all of these positive beings would come, anybody in the room with entities would go off. The energy of that much high vibration, right, would trigger the entities. And in this particular healing ceremony, there were three very possessed people. One of them was a professional rugby player, about 6'2", probably 225, a big strong dude. And he turned into something akin to a wolf, was running around the room on his hands and knees attacking and trying to bite people and making scary sounds. Wow. And people were scared to death. And this guy was in, you know, you look at his eyes and there's nobody there. It's empty. And it it's like you're seeing really dark stuff. And then simultaneously two more, both males, went off, and and um, even my my assistant instructor and another lady that was helping. They were scared to death. There were people on their cell phones calling the cops. There were people calling their parents and crying their eyes out. There were 55 people in the group, and they ran. And I swear to God, these people, they knew they had seen evil for the first time, right? And I'm in there trying to ground these people and work with them.
And as a side note, one of the things that I found is very, very effective is if you take a tuning fork tuned to the root chakra and strike it repeatedly, it causes it repels entities and it brings people back into their body and helps wake them up. There's a bunch of stuff. But the the point that I'm making is I had to confront these entities and ask them questions and treat them with love and respect as though they were a patient themselves. And I found that most of them had terribly sad stories. And many of them were caught in the afterlife and did not want to enter the light of God because they had developed such a hate for God because they had childhoods like I just described mine and worse. Sure. And sexual abuse and torture and terrible, terrible things. And so they and and by the way, this happened to my own brother. I will tell you how this happens. You know my brother committed suicide when he was 34. And it was very, very painful for everybody in the family. He was a drug addict by the time he was in the seventh grade. And I'm a bit embarrassed to say that that I I never I never thought to go check on him, cuz I'm capable of reaching souls in the afterlife and talking to them. And I've had many experiences of finding people in the astral realm in what's called limbo.
Yeah. And and talking to them and and many of these souls are the very kinds that become entities, and they're very angry at God and very disgruntled and they don't want to move into God because they really are they just don't they think God is part of the problem. They think God's allowed all this to happen, and it's because of God that they've had to go through this. So one day my grandmother comes to me. I'm sitting in here doing my morning meditation. All of a sudden, my grandmother's there, and she says, "Scott needs your help." And I said, "What's wrong? I, you know, I thought he was with you." She said, "No, he would not come join me and the rest of the family in the afterlife because he just hates God, and we have not been able to connect to him." And my grandmother said, "You you need to go help your brother." And so I asked my soul to guide me to his soul. And I found him in in the astral dimension in limbo in the Bardo in the Bardo. And he was still very angry. And I said, "Scott, why are you here? Grandma and grandpa's waiting for you. The whole of our there's so there's so much love waiting for you." And he was pissed. He was like, "No way am I going into that. I don't God God is the that me up like this."
And so I had to spend quite some time to explain to him actually that the fact that he went through this is probably a signal that he's a fairly evolved soul. And you know, in spirit gem they say the tougher the situation you're in, the more you can take pause and say, look, as a soul you've reached the level that you need a challenge of this significance to grow yourself. Someone who's a super fit athlete doesn't go in the gym and lift pink dumbbells and use stretch cords. Like, you know, I'm an athlete myself that has to use fairly heavy weights that are a lot heavier than most people lift, or I won't grow and develop. So when we think of spiritual development, spirit gym is a concept that says when the comes into your life, it's a catalyst that you get to work with. It's the resistance that you need to grow emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. So I had to explain to my brother, look, if you embrace this, and I had to ask him what do you believe God is? And so like his ideas were were very off, right, based on pain and based on, you know, just what he had believed and and and somehow, you know, when a person's in really bad pain from a lot of mental, emotional trauma, especially when it starts in childhood, especially when you're a kid going to church like we were, like we're going to Christian church as young kids and and you know, hearing God will burn you in hell and you have to follow these rules or else, you know. So you your early introduction to God is that God will do evil to you.
Yeah. So right away you can start off on the wrong foot, which is why I disdain religions that teach stuff like that because I've watched it destroy people's lives. I got a book right here in my library written by a very skilled psychologist. It's about 500 pages of case histories of him tracking people's serious mental, emotional, and psychological, and physical problems back to beliefs in God that came directly from Christian churches. And he states in there, he believes it should be illegal for anyone under 18 years of age to read the Bible because of the damage it does to their mind. And they because until somebody has an ego that has enough discernment, they can't tell the difference between story and fact. So he says when you start reading stuff like this to children, you really damage them and you set a framework of of of um perception in their mind that's very distorted and very distorted about God. And so my brother was in exactly that state. So, it took me quite a while to get him to move into the light so he could go be with my grandparents and the rest of my family and and go through his the remainder of his afterlife review and and do the healing work that all souls typically have to do.
Now, my point is that of the entities that I've encountered, which is many, there's two main reasons that entities come back. One is they're addicts, and without a body they cannot get the satiation from alcohol or drugs that they need to to alleviate their pain. So so vampiric, parasitic, they come in to possess you to get you to drink or do drugs, and many of the people I've worked with that have alcohol and drug addictions have entities in them. And once you get those entities out, it's a lot easier to get them off the substances. Um, if you, for example, take an alcoholic and say, "Look, I'm going to introduce you to something a lot better for you that has a lot more healing power. I'm going to take you on a medicine ceremony with mushrooms," they can have an amazing experience, but if you don't get the entity out, they will go back to the alcohol while they're waiting for their next medicine experience on mushrooms or whatever real psychedelic you use because they haven't actually got to the root cause. And if they don't have the ability, you know, entities don't want you to know they're there. It's very Watiko-like. So if you don't get to the actual um root cause, and it's not just the entity, right? The entities cannot get into a healthy person who's got a love of God. It's very hard to do because in a healthy person who inhabits their body, their energy field is coherent. So, just like, you know, Captain Kirk used to say to Scotty, "Put the shield up." When you're in your body and you have love in you, your energy field is very hard for an entity to possess because entities are disembodied. So, they're they're actually in a light body. They're they're not in a physical body. So, they're like psychic energy. Okay? Like just like if I tried to convince you that eating dog for breakfast would make you strong, you you would look at me and say, "Paul, you know, you're never going to convince me of that."
Yeah. So the same way you have common sense and rationality and you you can defend yourself against stupid ideas like that, when someone's in their body and inhabiting their body and they love their body and they love who they are and they're here to learn and grow, there's no way for an entity to get in. It's very, very hard for them to do it. But evil evil enters the wound. Yes, it does. So it it I'll give you an example, a simple one. If a woman has small breasts and she does not like the way they look, she can have such a negative, resentful experience, especially when she sees other women with beautiful breasts that she can actually vacate her soul out of that region of her body. And so what happens is now the heart chakra becomes disabled, and her chest does not hold her spirit in it. That's the doorway that an entity walks through. Mhm. So, I've seen this over and over and over again. I did a very comprehensive podcast with Kedrich Olsen and then did an audio recording that's 5 and a half hours long called Are You Possessed? And I go through all the ways that people end up getting a possession. So that if you don't fully inhabit your body and love being you and engage the challenges of life out of a willingness to learn and grow and become something more whole, then you can begin to reject your body. And that's another problem with Christianity and a lot of the Abrahamic philosophies is they're very anti-body. All you got to do is look at the history of Christian mystics torturing themselves. And plenty of places in the Bible, the body is sinful, sexist, and all this stuff, right? It's just it's sad.
So, you you might get somebody that was raised to believe that you should never have sex till you get married, but they couldn't resist the sex urge and they had pre-marriage sex, maybe as a high schooler, whatever. One of my ex-girlfriends had this problem. She was very beautiful. And then while she was in high school, she was living with her parents. She restrained it. But when she got to college, she couldn't restrain it anymore and basically admitted to me she had sex with almost every guy on the football team. But the guilt and shame that came from that because it aroused her Christian programming that can cause a woman to vacate their sex organs. So the spirit moves out of the sex organs because they bury the dirt, the psychic dirt, the sin, the guilt and the shame there. And so they pull out of it. So there's shadow material now buried, that's the doorway for an entity. Mhm. Any such thing like that is how an entity can penetrate you. So loving yourself and knowing that you're God embodied and that life is a gift. Yogaandanda says at any given moment there are 60 billion billion souls waiting for a body on earth. If you knew how precious a human body was, you would be dancing in the street with joy. But we don't get taught that. We get taught the body is sinful, it's dirty, and all these other contorted religious ideas. And then we have a fashion industry that makes anybody less than a supermodel feel like they have to have a boob job or this or that or wear the expensive clothes and and and you know, photoshop yourself on and and share illusory pictures of yourself. That's classic luciferianism, right? Creating illusions. And so we've created this very dangerous culture because when you start mixing these religious ideas with socially contrived traps for people to get them to spend money and all the other stuff that I could mention, you create a very perfect environment for spiritual growth, but a very dangerous environment if you don't have enough wise elders around to help you see clearly. And we've lost our elders. We don't have a structure for spiritual development anymore. NZ said a long time ago, God is dead because Christianity had objectified God so thoroughly there was no mystery left. And that's what it means to kill God. Right?
And so in a nutshell, what I'm saying is most entities are disembodied souls that either want to fulfill an addiction, and the other class is those that want revenge because they're so angry about the way they died. It could be, for example, a a woman was married to a man, and the man believed she was having sex with someone else and got so angry before he knew the truth he kills his wife. If you talk to any policeman or detective, whenever a husband or a wife dies, they always suspect the other partner because so many husbands and wives kill each other when infidelity is involved. And so now this person is so angry, they want to possess somebody to come back and kill the person that killed them and and anything like that. So the two main classes of entities are those that have addictions they can't fulfill without without possessing a body. Because once an entity possesses your body, they can feel the alcohol. They can feel the drugs because now they're using your sensory systems. They're basically taking over your brain and nervous system and body. Without that body, they can't you can't get beer into a light body, and it won't work. You know, you can't even pick the cup up. Um, now there's scatterings of different types of entities. There's some entities that seem to feed off fear as an as an energy source. Well, there there is. But but the things I I want to point out, and this is very important, so I'm glad you mentioned this. I'm clairvoyant, so I'm gifted with sight. And I can watch this happen in myself. I can watch it happen in anybody. Every thought you think is a spirit. And when you think negative thoughts toward yourself or others or or destructive thoughts, you actually create a thought-form entity that is that thought, and they're visible. And I've got books by clairvoyants showing them, and I can see them.
One of my hobbies used to be to go to churches when I traveled all over the world. And I would go touch the walls. I would stand outside the church. I'd empty myself. Do what a shaman calls emptying the bones. So there's nothing in my mind. And I would touch the walls of the church standing outside of it. And let the vibration enter me and see what rose up. And I could tell exactly the kind of people that go to that church because I would see all the entities, all the thought-form entities that are literally in the material of the church because the vibration's held in the material. But what we have to realize is that a lot of these entities that feed off the darkness are the beings we created by enlivening the darkness, by creating it. And so many people don't realize that the entities that are possessing them are the ones that they kept pouring psychic energy into. Yeah. The wolf that they fed, they fed that wolf, and that wolf gets hungrier and hungrier. And so if you feed the fear wolf, the fear wolf will be hungry for your fear. It will. And it'll live off of it because that's what it's made of. Like, okay, so take that concept and remember the soul is unconditional love because that's what God is. And the soul being unconditional love is the base of consciousness. It is that which is aware inside every one of us. We are not only homo sapiens, we're homo sapiens sapiens. We are the the being that's aware that it's aware. Mhm. Right. You're aware I'm talking to you right now. But behind your awareness, there's a deeper awareness that's aware that you're aware. That's God. That's your soul. Okay. The soul can only ultimately be satiated by what it is. This is why all the sex and all the drugs and all the money and all the material belongings, I mean, how many movie stars, how many musicians, how many rich people commit suicide because no matter how much they have, they can never ever get to that place of satiation, of peace, of wholeness because they're trying to fill it with the wrong stuff. Right?
The point is the soul can only ultimately reach the point of satiation and peace when it gets what it is. You understand what I'm saying? Yep. The journey home, what triggers legitimate spiritual development is the awareness that material possessions and money and objects and things ultimately do not feed the soul. The only thing that feeds the soul is love. And as a soul evolves, it's capable of creating and inspiring higher forms of love. So in the spirit gym system that I teach, love evolves in four stages. First is sex and violence love. We're all born by an act of sex. And the act of a soul coming into a body is challenging because we have to relearn that fire burns you, that dogs bite you, that knives cut you, that falling hurts, and that mommy and daddy don't always love you very nicely, and neither do brothers and sisters and other people. So our first experience of love can can have a component of sex and violence love, which simply put is highly polarized love. Love that can go from hugs and kisses to getting the snot beat out of you by your dad. As we grow and evolve and realize that sex and violence love is painful and we don't like it, we begin to awaken to the fact of what are the conditions by which I feel safe to give you love and what are the conditions I feel safe to receive your love. So the next stage of conscious evolution is conditional love, and that simply put is I love you if and when or but okay, and that's what a contract is. Mhm. So once we get clear on conditions, then we have to be aware, and it takes a while for us to be conscious enough to make sure that those conditions are met. Simply stated, do our values match? Do do we have a common dream together? Do we have harmony and mission, vision, and values, and therefore a life purpose that's bigger than either of us as an individual, but something that it'll take the genius of both of us to create out of love and harmony, not only for ourselves, but the children we might have. Without that, you're still um not very conscious of what conditions that you need to feel safe to give and receive love. And that's what leads to tremendous problems in
Relationships. Is just a complete lack of consciousness about what it is that you really need to feel safe to give love and receive it, cuz love can be used to manipulate people very easily, and that's part of the shadow work that I do with people and myself. Um, then you grow to empathetic and compassionate love. So once we live enough life that we look around us, like Aubrey, you're 43 years old now. You've been around for a while. I'm 63. So, I've been around a while longer.
Mhm. It's easy for me, like I have known you long enough to see your life and say, "Aubrey is doing what I did when I was 35." And I know exactly what it leads to. But I can't go say to him, "Stop doing that," because he's got to learn this. Like I watch all my students because I had to learn it. And it would be egotistical for me to walk up to you, a guy who's got a real strong sense of self and has agency and say, you know, Aubrey, you're going to get yourself in trouble with whatever, right? Because you just say, "Fuck off," with you telling me that I'm I don't want your not my daddy or something like that's just a natural reaction for a healthy ego to do, or even just an ego, right?
But the point I'm making is I can look at Aubrey or any of my friends or any of my students or anybody in the world. I can watch a guy steal a car and go, "Yep, there's me at 17 going for a joy ride." The difference is instead of look at that someone needs to lock him up or someone needs to beat the shit out of that guy. I go, "Wow, there's someone who's really doing the work to find themselves and explore themselves." And I know that's probably going to lead to some pain. And I can find that thief in me and hold him and say, "Wow, you know, there I am. Look at me stealing a car. There I am punching somebody in the face instead of finding out what their real wants, feelings, and needs are. I did that."
Um, so empathetic and compassionate love comes on after you've had enough sex and violence love and you've seen the limitations of conditional love and you can actually look around and see yourself everywhere.
Mhm. Then you genuinely begin to see God because you realize that every soul starts off unconsciously and has to grow through enough challenges and enough pain to feel alone enough to really begin to need God, to really have a craving for a love that's beyond conditions, beyond trickery, beyond "I love you if and or but," a love that is safe no matter what circumstance you're in. And that's when we start to see ourself in everybody.
Mhm. And that's the doorway to realizing that it's God is absolutely committed to going through the process of realizing itself and every person and because there is no God except the one you worship. Right? It doesn't matter what I believe about God. That you could be a staunch scientific materialist and think I'm nuts and God will meet you at exactly that level and you will find God in your cars and in your scientific tools and in your whatever it is, wherever you are at, God says yes and meets you there. And when you come to the realization that all the money and all the toys aren't making you whole, then you start seeking a higher level of God. But ultimately, God goes through the process of birth, embryogenesis, and progressive self-realization in every sentient being that's capable, at least at human level, of self-reflection. And when you realize that the earth is a garden of souls that are all God, seeking to express a unique genius, a unique potential in the world that can only come by way of the forgery of the polarities, simply put, light and dark, good and evil, um love, less love, etc., then you really start to have empathy and compassion for people and instead of finding ways to get rid of them, you you're more interested in ways to help them.
Um, Abraham Lincoln once said something that confused a lot of people. He said the best way to help the poor is not to become one of them. Well, a lot of people thought that was very aristocratic and and you know, not nice of him. But what he was really saying is you don't help poor people by giving them money. You help them by teaching them how to make money and how to take care of themselves. And what they need is not company. They need leadership. And so once we reach the level of empathetic and compassionate love, we really realize what it means to be an elder, what it means to hold someone's hand and help them see their life with only the clarity that you can have when you've done enough life to get to empathetic and compassionate loving. And the deeper you go into empathetic and compassionate loving, the more you begin to have breakthrough experiences of union with God. And then you realize what unconditional love is. Then that's the fourth stage. That's the fourth stage. Full unconditional love. Full unconditional love. Christ consciousness embodied. Yep. And and and um you know it's it can be overwhelming and powerful. Um, and it's the intensity of it is so unless you've done enough healing, you can actually have a hard time allowing yourself to feel that much love. It can almost scare you because I've had I've had moments where I've felt it and retreated back like a coward because it was like everything about my life has to change now.
Well, not only that, a certain way, you know, it's it's, you know, as Lus says, the stone always wears the water always wears the stone, wears away the stone. Unconditional love is unconditional. So the more of it you expose yourself to, the more it begins to dissolve everything in you that's not unconditional.
Right. And that includes the ego.
Yeah.
Right. So paradoxically, exposure to unconditional love is death to the ego self. It's not death to the soul. But as long as we are identified as more ego than soul, unconditional love can be scary as hell because the feeling is I'm dying and I've been there. I've been scared to death by being immersed in unconditional love. It's I'm still working on because I can't. Here's the challenge. You know, God cannot allow itself to be other than unconditional love. This is why I use the symbol of zero for God because zero is simultaneously no thing and everything. It's not a number. A number is a condition. It's a symbol for that which cannot be weighed, measured, or known. If one iota of something other than the unconditional enters God, it collapses into just that. There's nothing else there. You understand that? So think of God as the most pure pristine water. One drop of dirt and it's not unconditional anymore. So the only way you can enter God is through the fires of purification. And all the mystics tell us that. All the saints have told us that that I've ever studied. And so this is why there's so many purification rituals. This is why shadow work is so critical because ultimately you got to decide what do I really choose to be? Who do I really choose to be? And I don't want people to misunderstand that I'm trying to talk like a saint. This is this is like the legitimate work of spiritual development. And is not easy because we spend most of our life identifying ourselves with the conditions that wind themsel into this little ball of consciousness called an ego. So by the time you reach the level of spiritual development and consciousness to actually begin to have experiences of union with unconditional love, even if it's for one second, you still have not only one lifetime but potentially hundreds of lifetimes of programming and layers and layers that you have to unfold. Because if you don't unfold that yourself, when you immerse in unconditional love, it is a death experience because this fear of it will make you go unconscious. You can't handle the shock of it. But when we do the work of spiritual healing or shadow work, if you will, which is a, you know, kind of a lump sum term for purification. When Aubrey does that step by step himself, he knows when he's ready to face the wave, the ocean of bliss.
Uh-huh. And I I I created a saying because in many of my plant medicine ceremonies that I've conducted when I'm doing the integration work with people, a common theme that comes up, Paul, I was in heaven, but I couldn't stay there.
Why?
Yeah. For well for me I'll answer that question. One there's fear basically and the one of the one of the like primordial fears for me is that and I have this very self-critical I have a very very strong belief in my potential which includes you know reaching higher states of consciousness but fear that I'll be unable to affect the world in the way that actually you know God has blessed me with the capability of doing so, fear of not being good enough, failing my mission. That's huge. It's a big one. And then there's fear of physical pain, my own, you know, if I'm not aware, if I'm not constantly assessing for fear, you know, with fear about the external environment, I might get hurt in some way. And that could be emotional pain or physical pain. But fear of pain and then fear of failing my mission ultimately then reverts me back to that kind of reptilian fear state, you know, neurotic kind of state of mind where it's like I got to keep myself safe. I got to keep myself safe. It's not safe to be here in this place. And and that's that seems to be what's pulling me back. And so helping like leaning into that fear, trusting that no matter as long as I'm giving my best, it's all all I'm capable of doing. It's about the intent and effort. And then also training myself to withstand more pain.
Yeah, you can, you know, I wouldn't try too hard to withstand more pain. Um, you know, unless it's the pain of healing, right? But the the other thing is is that when people come into the experience of what we're calling heaven, which is really a high state of love and and being with beings that have earned the right to be there, is we feel guilty. It's like you've snuck into a party you don't belong in.
Mhm. It and it's like um impostor syndrome. You're like, you know, pretending that you're an expert at something when you're really not. And here you're on national television talking about something, but you know inside yourself you're faking it. So when you when you come into one of these experiences in a shamanic journey, often people go, you know, I really don't deserve to be here. I am not, you know, I I I can give you an experience. I one time in a deep ceremony all of a sudden found myself in this beautiful uh kind of like a Taj Mahal like temple and gorgeous polished marble floors and there was all these enlightened beings just in a state of ecstasy dancing and lo and behold Roomie was there and he was right in the middle of the room whirling as a dervish and I knew instantly It was Roomie who I love like you do and studied. I've got a probably 50 60,000 of his poems right over there and read them for years and did many journeys just to reach him and and and reach him as a spirit guide when I need to. But in this particular experience, I said to my soul, where am I? What is this? What is this? And my soul said, you're in what human beings typically know of as heaven. And I I loved it. And I walked over to Roomie and held the intention to ask him a question. And he stopped and he turned and looked at me. And I said, "Master Roomie, how long can I stay here?" And he smiled and said, "As long as you can, Paul. As long as you can." And so what I realized is that we won't allow oursel
Yeah.
to experience more love than we know we can give.
Oh, I was going to I was thinking you were going to say deserve. But but give is the give is the that's the that's that's the right answer. That's the right answer. We won't allow oursel to experience more love than we know we can give. And one person I've learned a lot from is I did Walter Russell's one-year home study course. And I've read all of Walter Russell's books. And Walter Russell says, "Love always has to be in balance." And the only way it can be in balance is if there's an equal giving and receiving of love. So anybody that gives more love than they receive is actually throwing the whole cosmos out of balance. And anybody that receives more love than they give is throwing it out of balance.
Interesting because ultimately God is the perfect balance of giving and receiving. And so when Roomie looked at me and his eyes went right through my soul and he just smiled with a beautiful wise man smile of that only Roomie could give you. And he said, "As long as you can, Paul, as long as you can," and he was encouraging me to stay like saturate yourself in this experience because it'll inspire you to want to be here with us and stay as long as you can. And so I would try to stay and all of a sudden I'd find myself laying on the ground in a journey going, "Oh my god, I'm back in my body. I got to get back there." And I'd try to get back and I'd go and the next thing you know, boom, I'm back on the ground and I'm hearing somebody vomit over there and I'm like, this ain't I don't want to be here with all this vomit. I want to be
Yeah.
Yeah, totally. But it but and I've had several of those experiences and I've had many people tell me of these experiences and say, "Why couldn't I stay?" I say, "You know why you couldn't stay? You don't need to ask me. Just tell me what you felt." And so the point that I'm really trying to reiterate is God is that metaphorically pristine water and because God has to be completely neutral as God in order to allow it all to happen. So paradoxically for God's own self-realization.
Yeah.
Because God cannot know God as God. That which is unconditional cannot see or know itself. The analogy I give my students as I say this, if you took a perfectly polished mirror and put it in front of another perfectly polished mirror and said to one of them, "What are you looking at?" It would say, "I don't see anything."
Mhm. because there's nothing but an infinite reflection of nothing of emptiness. So this is why the Sufis call their practice polishing the mirror of the heart because until your mirror is so perfectly polished that you look into it and see nothing. You don't really see God as the unconditional. You see what God has created as a means of self-reflection.
Mhm. Without evil, without earth, water, fire and air and plasma and ether to create the matrix which we are all embodied at different levels without the higher mental realm, the lower mental realm, the astral realm, etc. There that's God's body. That's how God goes into itself, dreams itself into existence, has a legitimate experience, learns what it is as the good, bad, and the ugly and works its way back home. And then God can test its perfection against reality. See in the Bible it says God is omnipresent, all present, omniscient, all knowing, um, all the omnis, right? Many people think God is perfect, but perfection can never be perfection unless it's tested against itself.
Mhm. So God goes into its own dream, becomes all possibilities and ultimately finds its way home by leaving the soul empty of anything but unconditional love. And every time you try to feed that soul anything but what it really is, it can't get satiated.
Yeah. It's hungry for the pure water of God because that's what it is. So in the process of making this journey through the dream which in Hinduism is called Maya, the grand delusion, God is actually testing all of its potentials, all of its possibilities, the light and the dark. I the Lord create the light and the dark, good and evil. I the Lord do all these things. Isaiah 45:7. There is some truth in the Bible, but people don't like to look at it, right? And and you see the point is when God returns home as a Kabir or a yogaandanda or a Babaji Krishna Buddha now God can test its perfection.
Mhm. Now God has evidence of what it really is and it's conscious of it. You you see that?
I get it. I mean what you're I'm doing my own self-analysis here listening to what you talk about and if I'm honestly assessing myself there's I learned something about myself in a recent medicine journey with my wife. I was I had a a bar of silver 10 troy ounces of silver and I had it on a biomat and it was getting really warm and silver represents the Solomon lineage. Solomon is actually represented symbolically by the moon. Silver represents moonlight also represents Hermes and you're curious.
Yes. which is also another deep connection. It was getting warmed by the biomat and then I moved it from underneath my back to my sacrum and it was the greatest delight that I'd that I'd felt and I I needed I'd been in some pain and I needed it immediately. Immediately even enjoying it for like 20 seconds. I go and I gave it to Vana, you know, and I was like and I gave it to her, but I actually didn't even know if she would enjoy it or appreciate the like the intricacies of the pleasure of this, which required for me the knowledge of it. You had to have the perception for it.
Yeah.
But I so I had no idea. And then I gave it to her and I'm missing this warm silver bar that would, you know, metriculated the red light through the amethyst and and charged up in this way and I'm like, why the hell did I do that? I love her, but like and I realized this is my nature. When I got money after I sold on it, I bought all of my friends houses. I employ people who I, you know, aren't actually giving what I'm giving to them. I'm doing all of these things out of generosity, but in a in a way abandoning the care for myself and putting myself in unnecessarily stressful situations. Jesus did say, "Don't throw pearls to swine."
Yes.
And no, no one no one I've given to is swine. But nonetheless, it's just a metaphor. But of course, I I mean, there is this way in which I'm constantly giving. And then I I looked and I'm like, huh? Like some part of me is yes, generous and I have to be mindful of that. But some part of me that's coming from a lack of not feeling worthy of love unless I'm giving. So there's a little bit of this lack of my own internal sense of love and worth and care for self. That's why I teach I before we always.
Yeah.
And I've gotten into this state of exhaustion. Partly because of generosity. Partly also because of there's these something encoded in me that feels like I'm not worthy enough unless I'm generous. So there's so there's some aspects of that that are in there. That's some good Christian programming by the way. Give it all away. Be like Jesus. Forget yourself. And and you know the irony is I created a whole program called Fit for Service teacher Don Howard said which in order to be of service you have to be fit for service. But I've really actually abandoned a lot of that where I'll be out serving, you know, doing things publicly. Some of it has, like I said, selfish motivations to remediate some internal, you know, judgments that I have about myself.
Yeah.
Exactly. And uh but you know, and I'm just I felt called for so long. I need I need to spend my 40 days where it's just me. I'm not caring for anybody else. I source my mana from the land. That's the hermit archetype. I source my, you know, recollect my energy. It's just me with myself. I'm not giving to anybody. And then to recalibrate. And I just keep pushing that thing off.
Can I share something real quick?
Please.
One of my practices. Can I teach it to you?
Please.
Put your hand over your heart. Whichever one feels the most grounding and centering, one of them will feel more grounding and centering. For me, it's my non-dominant feminine hand.
Mine, too.
Then you put the other one over top. Keep your tongue on the roof of the mouth behind your front teeth where it naturally grows goes. As you inhale through your nose, visualize that you're breathing God's unconditional love into you from every direction like the sun shining in reverse. And draw God's unconditional love and fill your heart with it. As you exhale, open your heart like a flower opening to the sun and pour God's unconditional love out of every pore of your being and say the words, "I give God's healing love to all beings." On the inhale, I breathe God's unconditional love into my being and fill your heart and body and soul.
With it. And then on the exhale, open your heart like a flower and pour it out. I give God's healing love to all beings. Healing love to all beings. I fill myself with God's infinite love. I give God's unconditional love to all being. I give God's unconditional love to all beings.
That's how you spend time in the desert by yourself and know that you are loving every living being in all dimensions, in all places, in all times. Because based on quantum physics, you're entering the field of non-locality. And like God, love given that way is everywhere simultaneously and instantly. So you don't have to travel and carry bags and clean up messes and give money away. You can love everybody.
And as I do it, I visualize all the starving people, all the broken people, all the hurt people, all the sad people receiving this beautiful invisible gift of God's love. And it brings me to be able to start my day every day knowing that no matter how bad things are on Earth or in any dimension, I, at least, I know I did my part to channel what God gives me out as a gift to everybody else. And that way I can take the time I need to be with myself and know that I'm not hiding from my responsibilities of helping other people because I begin my day by opening my heart to all of God that doesn't realize that it's God to give some God to help them find God inside of themselves.
And there's so much evidence, scientific uh studies that prayer works. Larry Dossi wrote a whole book on it. When you look at the research on prayer, it's undeniable that people that are being prayed for that have no idea even in double-blind studies show measurable improvements in blood ratios, in enzyme performance. I mean, it's crazy when you look at the scientific research on prayer. And they don't even need to know they're being prayed for. Okay? So, when you know like the self-realization fellowship has a prayer circle and you can put someone's name that's in trouble on it and and it goes into the prayer circle and all the monks sit and they pray for everybody that's in the prayer circle. Now, they don't—these people don't know they're getting prayed for, but the point is that's the nature of God.
So if you want the highest technology, use God to help God. Right. Right. Right. And the highest technology is just to open yourself to God's love. Yeah. Give it away. I think we imagine that God is going to—and it's—it's interesting because we are the hands and the heart of God. So we're directing through our intention, letting God know where actually to direct that—to direct that love in a way like it's this bilateral energy where God is informing and infusing us, but we're also the eyes, ears, mouth, nose, hands of the divine as well.
That's the truth that so many people want to deny. That's part of the problem of having a sky god because the Abrahamic religions are sky god religions. So God is up there. God is perfect. You're a sinner. You're fallen. You're down here. That is the most dangerous ideology that completely aborts the concept of God. God is that for which there is no other. God is the source and sum of all there is. All that is created. If God is prime source, then God has nothing to create out of but itself. Every rock, stone, beetle, and bad guy is God. You know, there's an old saying, when a pickpocket sees a saint, he only sees his pocket. But when a saint sees a pickpocket, he sees God. That's the difference of evolution.
Right. And you said something really important to me. I teach my students that you must understand what the word intention means. If God is unconditional love, that is pure potential; pure unadulterated potential. You do not have energy or information until you have an intention. The word intention means to put potential into tension, and that creates the flow of life force. That is when Shakti lives—intelligent energy. So that's why shadow work is so important because shadow work is ultimately teaching you to analyze where you're using your intention consciously because God will say yes to anything because unconditional love cannot say no. God's willing to experience the light, the dark, the good, the bad, and the ugly because it is the only way God can know its potential. But because God is ultimately unconditional love, no matter how bad you are, sitting metaphorically in the center of your heart is the spark of the divine and it will always call you home. The further you go into evil, the more isolated you become and the more alone you become. When Bill Gates owns everything and has everything, he will still not have the love he's looking for, right? Because he'll still be a pauper. He will still just have things—right—deep wisdom. And so he'll get, you know, Ross says you can get, I believe, to the sixth dimension, but then your polarity has to shift because you can't go any further, right? So he will always—Yung uses a term—an enantiodromia. The Tai Chi symbol shows you yin can only become yang. Yang can only become yin. Enantiodromia is when yang becomes yin or yin becomes yang. So when one thing converts itself into its complimentary opposite, that's enantiodromia—evil can only become good—right—eventually there's nowhere else for it to go.
Yeah. Yeah. I love that. And of course Jung's, you know, famous saying—and I want to get into how you build and illustrate and create your own personal myth because we've said—we set a great map. We've—
Yeah. I gotta—I gotta need a timeout, too. I need to pee.
Yeah, let's—let's go pee and then let's go talk about myths.
Yeah. All right, let's talk about—Let's—Let's talk about making your own personal myth, being the hero of your own story.
Yeah, that's a deep topic. I'll do my best to kind of encapsulate it. You know, one of my all-time favorite podcasts with—I think it's number 62 on Living 4D with Paul Czech—was with James Carse.
Oh, yeah. What a legend. James wrote the book Finite and Infinite Games. Read it.
That's a powerful book.
Yep. I was listening to it on audio in the gym and I had to stop because it put me into such deep meditation. I couldn't lift weights. I'm like, "This is not going to work." But I ended up going through it. I think I've been through it now five times. I've read it and I'm going to go through it again. But in my interview with James Carse, who's really very skilled in myth, I said, "James, what is a good working definition of myth?" He said something that struck me to my core. He said, "Myth is the story that tells itself." A myth is a story that tells itself. And so the ultimate myth is the story of life. And the only being that can tell that story is God. Because God is the only true source of life.
Right? So God is the ultimate storyteller, and myths are always polarized. I created a saying, "God is the great mythmaker that plays both sides but chooses neither." Choice is always left to you, and that's free will. Yeah. So in its root essence, myth means story. Any story is technically a myth. And in the creation of one's personal myth, it's—it can get complex because you can go all over the place. But the thing that I say to everybody is every soul carries a unique innate genius that only it has. And you know you're living your personal myth when you feel like you're making love. When you feel like, "I love my work." I've been doing this for 41 years and I'm as passionate about it and I study as much and I practice as much every day as I did when I was 22. And when you are making love every day, then you have the ability to work through the challenges that are inherent in the growth process of relationship.
Mhm. Because you don't see challenges as limitations. You see them as necessary things to work through so that you can fulfill your dream or your goal or your objective. So if a person does not have enough awareness of what fills them with love, then it's very hard for them to write a myth because they don't really know who they are yet or how they want to express themselves. They're—they're still young in the formation of their self-concept.
Um, so after years of helping patients work on their myths and seeing the challenges that they have—and people really go into some emotional upheavals when they start writing a myth—I've seen complete emotional breakdowns when people are writing myths. In fact, one of the paintings on my wall is from a—a very, very wealthy woman, very intelligent woman who came to me very sick with endometriosis and had been a vegetarian her whole life—of a vegetarian family. And I had to help her through, you know, a lot of religious programming and everything to do with it. But she could not write her myth. She got so upset, almost like a kid ready to throw the paintbrushes across the room, 'cause I asked her, I said, "Look, if you can't figure out what your myth is, ask your soul to just paint through you and do a mandala, see what comes out with the intention that it is an a symbol of your myth." And she just couldn't get anything to come out of her. So I said, "I'll tell you what I'll do. I will paint with you and I will tap into your soul and see what comes through." And so I painted what I picked up from her soul as her myth. And paradoxically, when she actually finished her painting, it was very similar to mine, but she was not with me. She was doing this in her home in another state. I was doing it here. And when we looked at the two, it really gave her the confidence that she finally had access to something deep inside of herself. And so I did it with her to say, "Look, I'm going to do this with you." I find people do things better when they're with people in general, especially if it's challenging or scary. Like it's a lot easier to do a firewalk in a big group of people than it is to just build a long string of fire in your backyard out of coals and say, "Okay, I'm going to walk this." If you got a lot of people around you in the right state, it lifts you up.
So ultimately, what my soul led me to doing was using Ken Wilbur's four-quadrant model. So in the upper left, you have the personal interior or the dimension of the soul. So that's your inherent desires. That's what your—your—what makes you feel loved and what feels natural for you as a way of expressing your love. That's the home of your conscious or unconscious myth, your story. You're the actor. So you're—you're the star in your own myth. You always are. Then in the lower left quadrant, you have the collective interior. That's the cast and crew. So you're the star in Aubrey's myth.
Mhm. I'm either the antagonist or a protagonist or I'm cast or I'm crew. Everyone in your life is. We're all cast, crew, antagonist or protagonist. In other words, we're either with you in shared values or we have opposing values. So, we're antagonistic. These are inherent in story. Like if you look at all stories, they have all the archetypes in them and they have all these polarities in them and there's always stars, protagonists, antagonists, cast and crew. It's just inherent in all stories, or the story just is flat. So then in the cast and crew we have friends—with—first we start with family members because they're the closest to us and we work out to friends and so we get clear on what—what's inside of you and—and I just let people write whatever comes out with the intention of, "I'm doing the groundwork research to write my own myth." So who do you think you are? Who do you want to be? Who would you be if you could be anybody you wanted to be? What powers and gifts would you have if you had the choice to be and have whatever powers and gifts you wanted to? Remember, God always says yes. So, we gather that information. Then we say, well, who are the cast and crew? Who are the people in your life? Who are the ones that share values with you? Who are the ones that antagonize you? Who are the ones that traumatized you? Who are the ones that um gave you opportunities? Who are the ones that are supportive to you? Who are the ones that are supporting you without you even knowing who they are? Like who built your car? Who made the computer you're using every day? Who made the pencil you write with? They're part of our story. We're just often unconscious of them, which is why I like doing the heart breathing because I'm giving them love, right? I may have never met you, but I'm loving you.
Then we go to the upper right quadrant, which is the personal exterior. That's anything that can be weighed, measured, or filmed as a behavior or an activity. So that's the objectivity. That's the objective expression of the soul. That's tangible, right? Your body is an expression of the artwork of your soul. It's tangible. I can weigh it. I can measure it. I can film you. Um, and I can say, "Aubrey, here's what you look like uh when you're in an argument with so and so." And if you want to improve on that, you can. But so the upper right in the myth is who's the character you want to be? Do you want to be um Chewbacca from Star Wars or do you want to have a lightsaber? Um, how—you know? So there I encourage people to create the body of the character that they want to be in their myth. I'll—before I finish, I'll say I always tell them your myth should be fun to write. You should not let it be stressful, and you should write it with the intention that if you share it with a 12-year-old or your own children, it will be an exciting and interesting story that they will enjoy reading or want you to read to them. That means you don't get technical. You don't worry about perfect elocution. You know, most people get so caught up in analysis that they go into paralysis. So, just write your myth as though it was a gift to your children. And then it's more fun. And it doesn't have to be of this world. You can be an alien. You can be, you know, something completely other. My—my partner in spirit gym, Amy Fornier, she was Asparius, which is a horse with wings that's white that looks exactly like Pegasus. And in her myth, she would fly into another world each day, which was the world we live in, which is full of people having trauma and problems. And Asparius would show up to—to deliver love, insight, good things. But because it was so stressful to be in that environment, Asparius had to fly into the home world, which was protected by guardian spirits. And it was a beautiful forest and there was all sorts of beings that were helper beings that would help her heal from her day's work and go through the process of having empathy for all the broken people, etc. But when she finished her myth, she—she had a healing breakthrough. She broke down in tears. She said she looked at me after two years of therapy 'cause she came to me in a real midlife crisis. She looked at me and she said, "Paul, I want you to know I am now healed. I am no longer in a midlife crisis. I know who I am for the first time in my life." But so another example, she had a very hard time putting the myth together because she just had a hard time with enough imagination. Most people have a hard time with imagination. And so when I took her through the four-quadrant model and I asked her the key questions and I wrote it all down on a whiteboard that's sitting right over there so she could see it and then we put it together as a story and then I said, "Now paint it." The moment she finished painting and stood back and looked at it, boom, the floodgates open. It—and I've seen this happen over and over again. This is not a unique case in my spirit gym training. I've got at least 15 um paintings of my patients and students to show what it looks like when someone figures out who they are, and it's profound.
What's the—what's the bottom right quadrant? Did I—
The bottom right quadrant is the world stage. So that's the collective exterior. So that's for us—that's the world first and foremost. It's a cosm—it's where your myth is acted out, right? So it's where we are, but from a mythical perspective, it's wherever your myth is. It could be in Andromeda. It could be in another dimension. It can be anywhere you want it to be. So you could write your myth from the astral plane perspective—for the celestial plane perspective or penetrating all the way through all the different planes. There's zero limitations.
Interesting. Because ultimately it does not matter. For example, I'm an art therapist. And when I give people art therapy assignments, one of the things they're going to say is, "How am I going to keep my ego out of this?" And I say, "Your ego cannot defend itself against art." No matter what you put on that canvas, I, as an art therapist, can read it symbolically, and I will show you exactly where your ego is, and I'll show you where your soul is. And it won't be hard for you to see it either. And I'll give you a tip. Everything that you think doesn't look good enough that you try to correct, there's your ego. So, honor, worship, love, and respect it. But don't let it stop you from painting.
Mhm. So, what we end up with is we end up with our—and it can be imaginal because who's imagining it, right? It's you. Who imagined you in the first place? You as God.
Um, as a side note, I'll tell you a little Carl Jung story that's makes this point. Carl Jung is really the founder of art therapy. He is the person that really pioneered art therapy. Um, and I've studied many systems of art therapy, but many, many years ago when Jung was doing lectures on art therapy and related concepts, he was giving a lecture and some journalist had a real bent against Carl Jung. Didn't like him. And he went to one of Jung's mandala workshops specifically to try to debunk it—debunk—make dirt, you know, deface Yung, right? So Jung gave a lecture and then he says to the audience, "Would any of you like to come up here and do a little mandala work?" And the journalist shot his hand up and he thought, "Now is my chance." So he comes up here and Yung says, "Okay, you know, I think"—Yung said—gave him an intention and just whatever comes to you, just put it in the circle, you know, probably with some chalk or pen, you know, pencils or colored crayons or whatever. And then so Yung looks at it and Yung starts to decode it for him and he cuts Yung off and he looks at Yung and he says, "I made all that up. None of it's real." And Yung smiled at him and says, "And yes, I have a question for you. Who did [Laughter] it? Who did it?"
Yeah. Now, isn't that just gorgeous? Yes, it is. Doesn't that just turn the mirror right back on that poor guy?
Mhm. Who did it? Because what you did was just paint a bunch of silliness to try to trick me and everybody else, but you painted you—the trickster. And now look at yourself. And that's the power of art therapy.
Wow. And that's why I have people illustrate their myth. So the point that I'm making is once you look at these, you see—because ultimately what do you—what am I asking you to do? I'm saying, "What superpowers do you want?" I want to be clairvoyant. You can do that in life. I want to be as strong as Hercules. It's a metaphor. I want to be strong enough to deal with life. However you want to interpret that, I want to um be a ninja to fight off the bad guys. Good. See, as a therapist, I can look and at the myth and see where they're at in their psychological development, where they're at in their stages of love's evolution, because the story tells the story, doesn't it? Right? And there's no right or wrong. So, you see what I'm looking for as a therapist? What are the values that are being conveyed in the story? How do you handle the bad guys?
Mhm. How do you work with the good guys? Who are your people? What is your dream? What is their dream? What is the mission? What are the values being conveyed? Um, where are you? Are you in—in a—are you—Are you in a Star Wars type situation? Maybe you're a lover of technology and that has something to do with what you're here to give or to engage or to test or to utilize. So when you
Take those components of a myth, and you then weave them into a story; it's no different than a painting. Yeah. You're actually painting with words.
And then when I ask you to paint it in a mandala, I ask you to go into your soul and ask for an image. And what I have you do is, once you read your myth, I say, "Okay, there's going to be key statements or phrases or things that are happening that you can capture with uh one or two words like love, hate, revenge, justice."
And so then I say, what I love. When you say the word love, Aubrey, when I say the word love to you, what pops up in your mind that you could easily draw? I don't know. It's something uh sexually explicit. Okay. For most people, it's a heart. When I say justice, what pops up in your mind? Some people say the cross; some people say scales.
So what I do is I say, as you're going through your myth, once you've written it, whenever you see key words that are like words that have a lot of meaning and a lot of power, draw whatever comes to you naturally, right? And then you'll end up with a series of symbols. Then when you go to do your painting, you incorporate those symbols, or something that conveys love or something that conveys justice, into the painting. Yes.
And so you're actually gathering the pieces. You're building the architecture of the painting by simply looking at the key words. Or I say, look at the key words and then think of what are three or four ways that you could paint something that represents that. And then by the time they might end up with say 20 or 30 key words, I say, now I want you to narrow it down to the four most important. Sift through your myth keywords and your key symbols and say, now if I have to choose four that have the essence of my myth, which is me, what are they? And then create symbols or ideas for what you could paint that carries the essence of those four master words.
And when I use that process, I can get anybody to create a myth. Mhm. And when they do, it speaks so deeply to them. And then what I do is I say, "Now hang that myth painting where you can see it every day. Read your myth regularly because it's a story about you."
And it might take a year for it to fully come to your own realization what you have said about yourself and what it is that you're here to do. Because when you boil it down to morals, ethics, virtues, vices, and experiences, it does not matter. Everything that happens in Star Wars is happening here. Everything that happens in the movie *Soilent Green* is happening here. Mhm. Everything that happens in *Raiders of the Lost Ark* is happening here. You see the point I'm making, right? There are cosmological themes. This is why Mark Goffny's concept of the field of value is universal. M it's multi-dimensional because you cannot have a relationship, nor can you have meaning nor consciousness without a field of value, which is a field of values. Right. Right.
So once you actually create your myth, you now have created a written mirror and a painted mirror that says this is who I am. And then like, let's say you're coming to me because you're in a midlife crisis like Amy was. I look at the story and say, "Okay, now she used to own a gym, but but it just didn't work out. She couldn't make money. It was draining her, and ultimately I supported her in the decision to sell it." And she's like, "Well, what am I going to do?" You know, I said, 'Well, that you that's what our work is going to help you realize, but we want to make sure that what you do is what your heart wants to do, not what your head thinks you got to do, or you'll just go right back into another crisis. Right?
And so I said, you know, your myth is telling you what you want to do. Who is Asparius? A horse that can fly, that has magical powers. What does Asparius do? Goes every day to help the people that are lost, confused, and in pain and then goes home at night to recover and has a circle of beings and friends around it to help restore it so that it can keep doing it. And also in her painting, on the in the world was the devil. The devil was the main feature. He was coming into that world to control and manipulate people. So on one side she had this big ugly well-painted devil, look like like almost looking going to jump off the page and get you. But on the other side she had this very powerful beautiful white horse painted right in the middle. Half in the heaven side and half in the work side. Right. Okay. Ready for the punchline? What does she do now?
She's devoted herself to developing a course on the life process of a woman and the life archetypes that each woman goes through from child to maiden to crone to wise woman. And she is going to run women's groups to help them heal, recognize where they're at in their own conscious and spiritual development, how to embrace and embody that. Okay? And she loves doing that, right? And she pours herself into the research and the study because it's fulfilling to her. Owning a gym lost its fulfillment and was a drain and was costing her a lot of money.
And that's what the soul does when you're at the end of an archetypal stage of development. It loses its attraction. And it what used to feel like love now feels like labor. And it becomes it lacks love. It lacks numinosity. It lacks vibrancy. So it now becomes like you're working in a factory putting hubcaps on or something where it used to get you all excited. And the problem with people is that they keep thinking that's what they got to do to make a living, and they talk themselves into it, and next thing you know they're in flat land and they got to drink half a bottle of wine at night and watch some junk television or smoke a lot of pot or take some pills to medicate the pain of living an outdated archetype because they're not moving forward with their soul contracts and the progression that the soul came here to grow through because they become too conditioned. Mhm. Conditioning is the opposite of freedom. Okay.
So when I work with people to create their myth, it's often a very important basis of the therapy because it tells me everything I need to know about where they want to go because their imagination is actually um doesn't have all the filters of of uh religious dogmas and uh belief systems. And that's the beautiful thing about imagination. And it it can escape all that. All you got to do is go into the bathroom and look at what people write on the walls. Mhm. You see all sorts of on the walls and carved into the stalls. And often times what you see is people's imagination. You know, you you you see, hate to be a bit off, but you might see in a men's bathroom someone draws a picture of themselves with a great big huge dick. Well, that says something about where their focus is at. It says something about what they're insecure about, or it's saying, look at me. But either way, it's saying something, and this is why Jung said to the guy and who drew it, right? So, we can't escape ourselves in the creation of a myth.
But what we can do is through the use of and and by the way, Einstein said imagination is more important than thinking. And he was right. I'll ask you a question. What would happen to Aubrey and what would happen to his life if he lost his imagination? What would happen to your sex life? Yeah. I mean, who is Aubrey without that? You know, fundamentally, right? And we have an education system that kills our imagination, right? And that's part of the We have a religious system. Teaches us memorization, rote learning. Yep. And rules. Yeah. And what you shouldn't do and judges you, right? More people stop doing art because some teacher criticized them, and the little child in them got wounded and they never did art again. Right? And we have religions that kill our imagination. Right? Because if you are an in the Abrahamic religions especially or even a Buddhist in many ways depending on which branch of Buddhism and how you interpret Buddhism, Buddhism would say you you don't want impure thoughts. But what if you're having fantasies about having anal sex with your partner? Well, that can throw you into a real tizzy with God in in most religious ideologies because those are sinful, impure thoughts. But what if that's just unbridled imagination? Mhm. Right. That's why we love I got a rich imagination. That's why we love people like Picasso because his paintings are so abstract that you and I can both look at the same painting and it can trigger our imagination to see very different things and come to very different conclusions. This is why Jackson Pollock is so interesting because you can't objectively say look at the woman there. It's like a Rorschach block test. Block test. What do you see? What do you feel? You you see your psyche mirrored back to you. Right. That's and and interestingly as a side note, quantum physicists have analyzed Jackson Pollock's art and found that he was tapping into the quantum wave function. Wow. Which is very strange and interesting, right? Yeah. Something was moving through him.
So, in the creation of this myth, there's it seems to me the potential that there's some expression of your shadow that may come through, particularly as it pertains to inflation, right? Because my father in his in his delusion in his capture by the entity started creating myths about himself which were inflationary myths, you know, messianic messianic myths, and I've had an an inordinate amount of people, more people than I would imagine would ever come up to me and try to tell me that they were Jesus. Good. So let's pause there. What's the deepest truth of Aubrey Marcus? The deepest. Go deep. Who are you really? Who are you really? Yeah. I mean, it's the full soul's potential. It's the you are Christ, right? It's it's it's the it's Enoch that walked so close to God that it became it became Metatron. You're just here to earn it and to own it and to know it's real. Your father's messianic myths are what happens when the ego breaks down to tell him something otherwise. Carl Jung learned a lot from people in psych wards. A lot. In fact, he said they were often spewing deep wisdom, and people called them crazy. M like you know one thing Ken Wilbur says I think I mean I think just to comment on my father I think one of the problems is they're looking for an external validation of an internal of an internal truth. Yes. Or they're making a statement of something that they know they have as a potential with them within them, but they don't know how to get there. Right? and or why they or why they want that particular thing. Is it to be worthy of love better than another? Absolutely. You know, what is what is the cause? What is what is the source of it? That's why I use art therapy because when I look at what people paint, they always have the four key components of a myth. They always have I can see the gestalt emerge from the myth either written or painted. And so if your father was my patient and I saw this messianic intent, I would investigate that. I the first thing I would say is who is a messiah that you love and trust? And then I would say what are those qualities? M and then I would say how have you expressed those qualities in your life or not expressed them and how do you feel about that? Right? And within minutes I'm getting to the core wound or the core fear or the core belief. Right? And and and and my point that I was going to share is one thing Ken Wilbur says that stuck to me like glue because it's true. There's always a little truth in everything. Yeah. No one's smart enough to be entirely wrong. No, like just I mean just just purely like to be entirely wrong, you have to be actually like a like a genius to get 100% wrong. Yeah. And and it's also hard to be 100% right because meaning has to have its complimentary opposite. You don't know what fire is without water. So right, you know, you you can't ever be 100% right because right is always based on a perspective. Wrong is always based on a perspective. Right. And so when I'm doing healing work with people, that's why I want to know their myth because that tells me how they're pre-framing their consciousness. You understand what I'm saying? Yeah. The belief system a person has is an overlay on the awareness. The consciousness within them is the awareness factor. But awareness is like undivided light. When you shine it through the prism of a belief system, you see the shadows on the wall in Plato's cave. Can you see that what I'm saying? Y and that's the life that we're living. So the you know shadow work is to ultimately get clear on what are the what are the values and what are the virtues and what is the um way of loving and relating that exemplifies who you came here to be. M and then we just have to look at what's gotten in the way of that because once we do the work to excavate that it's now your statue. Remember when people asked Michelangelo how on earth did you carve David? It because David is so incredibly beautiful. He said I just chipped away everything that was in the way. Not David. Everything that right I just chipped away everything that wasn't David. So what is shadow work? It's chipping away everything that's not Paul or not Aubrey, but it's something that we've embodied. And if you study um Robert A. Johnson's uh book on the shadow, which is excellent, he makes it very clear uh the shadow begins with inculturation. The primary source of shadow is being inculturated, which are these mimetic viruses and ideas that are held touch your genitals, right? never have sex until you're a certain age or you're married. Um, you you don't pick your nose in front of people. Uh, you know, you always have to be a good little girl. You know, never sit with your legs open if you're a girl. What what this does is it it takes our instincts to create and and to express ourselves and it channels it through rules and there's there's punishments for crossing those boundaries. Yeah. You know, and so when you look at the different ways people get inculturated, all you got to do is look at the world's great religions. Those are systems of inculturation. and or or scientism as a religion and that's been trying to tell us especially for the last five years but the well the no soul you have no soul one big one there's no god there is no god the big one a hackable machine yeah which is somewhat true well we're programmable well you're a biological machine but that that that that is a false concept yes because a biological organism is a living organism If you have a machine mind, then everything looks like a machine to you. But something that is expressing life force and the creativity of the cosmos that can change its mind. In Spirit Gem, I say capital G, capital O, capital D represents that for which there is no other. The source and the sum of all creation. The only being that can create and sustain itself is capital G, capital O, capital D. No other being can create and sustain itself. That's the problem that Lucifer, I mean, Satan has, right? Lucifer is a different story. But Satan comes face to face with the reality. It cannot create and sustain itself. So by hating God and rejecting God, it's rejecting the source of its own being. So Lucifer's in check. I mean, Satan's in checkmate all the way. Yeah. And all that does is make Satan angry. But Satan and that's why, you know, metaphorically, God laughs at all this. It's like yes, you just still have not figured out where your life force is coming from, where your very existence is coming. You're still coming from the force. I mean, other other things, the world is not safe. And and I still see this, you know, I walk through an airport or go somewhere, I still see, I don't know, 15 20% of people who are still wearing masks. And you know, not to delve too deeply into the ridiculousness of that, which we know now is like trying to keep out mosquitoes with a chain-link fence, but nonetheless, there's been an inculturation of the belief that the nation is inculturation. Yeah. The the air is dangerous. The earth is dangerous. And we're not fundamentally connected to it. And even though I can say that and I I'm growing in my compass, like deeper deeper compassion, I see it. I'm like, man, I like it's fear. It's it's fear in all the way. But then I can look at myself and you know I can get into a kind of neurotic handwashing type of mentality that I just picked up because I used to get a lot of colds and sicknesses and the belief was oh it was because I wasn't washing my hands enough. I can fix that. Just come work on a farm for a month. Yeah, totally. Well, even being around it's like as I've committed more to God and as I've like I'm starting to see these things fall away and I had this realization like you're either going to be an erotic mystic which is in the erotic nature of all of life even the food that you're touching the hands that you're shaking on or you're so you're either going to be an erotic mystic or a neurotic mystic who's constantly trying to control every everything in your environment. See, most of these people that are afraid of germs aren't aware that when they came out the birth canal, simultaneously was shooting out their mother's ass and it's all over them. Yeah. And they just, you know, they're detached from this thing called reality. Right. Right. Um, you know, and uh what is reality? It's two things. Reality in my conception is what's happening right now and it's everything that it takes to support your life. So to the degree that you're out of touch with what's happening right now and what supports your life, you're in trouble, you're in trouble. Yeah. Yeah. That's a big issue. Go back to the masking people you're talking about. If I had them do their myth, you would see all of this stuff come out in the myth. And I would read the story and I would see the painting and I would say, "What is your dream for yourself?" And I would look at everything in the myth and in in in the painting that's antagonistic to that. And then I would say, "Okay, let's talk about all these masks. What are you afraid of?" And they would say, "I'm afraid of germs." What do you think's the worst thing that's going to happen to you if you get germs? I would get sick. What's the worst thing that'll happen to you if you get sick? And I just keep going till I get to their root fear. It's almost always the same thing. I'm afraid to die. Okay. Well, if you're afraid to die, then you think that you're nothing but a physical body. Right. Right. So, what then what I find out is a lot of people don't have a conception of a soul or understand what the soul is, nor do they have a conception of God because you can see this exact same behavior in people that are swear up and down that they're highly religious and that they love God. But I can tell you, you look at all the polarization in most of these religions and you see that they're just recapitulation recapitulation of the indoctrination, which is exactly what Robert A. Johnson says creates a shadow. Mhm. So there's the personal shadow and there's a collective shadow. But the collective shadow came first because you were born into a culture. So when you're doing shadow work, you have to be careful about being too hard on yourself because you can actually, this is why a lot of people don't like shadow work. They don't want to have to take ownership of what they identify as the dark aspects of themselves or the things that they don't want to admit. Yeah. But they don't realize a lot of that stuff is just in the airways. I mean, it's we are we're swimming in it. You know, we're in a culture full of it. Our movies are full of it. Our cartoons are full of it everywhere we go. But but these are the things that are inherent in story. You have to have a protagonist. You have to have an antagonist. You have to have a cast. You have to have a crew. And you need something that binds them all together. You know, if there's no good guy and no bad guy, you got a lousy story. Nobody's interested. So, paradoxically, the people walking around with masks make it really interesting. Right here we are 5 years after COVID. The
Truth is out that it is what it is. We don't have to go through it all.
Um, we know it's a fifth-generation warfare operation. We know COVID's no more dangerous than the flu and only, you know, 0.0002% of people that ever get it die from it and all the stats. But they're still wearing masks. Okay. So, I say great, you're playing a freaking—doing a good job of playing your role. And I I think I think if we get all the judgments aside, I will quote Joseph Campbell. He's speaking about the importance of truly fulfilling your role in life. And he says, to make the point, stick your head in the lion's mouth and go for it. If you're going to play tennis, hit the ball. Don't just stand there and say, "I'm not a good tennis player." I mean, Joseph Campbell doesn't say but you know, it's Paul and Joseph together. It's a new myth. But you get the point. He's like, "Don't just go out and talk yourself out of the game. If you're going to step on the court, try to win."
Yeah. You know, and so the if you want to wear a mask and that's your deal, wear 10 of the goddamn things. Buy them all. Own it. I'll give you a box. You know, I'll buy it for you for Christmas, you know. But but you see, there's, you know, this brings us up to an important point, and I I have to work with a lot of people on this, and it's very shocking for them, and I think you'll find this interesting.
You know, I teach tarot and I use tarot in therapy. I teach people tarot, but people are really afraid of the devil card. And the people that are most afraid of the devil card are almost always puritanical religious people.
Sure. And so I look them right in the eyes and I say, "Look, I've got your paperwork here. I know more about you than your mother ever did. I have a question for you. Where do you need a little more devil in your life? When's the last time you had something other than the missionary position in bed?" People often won't answer that question because it's like 20 years. Where when's the last time you went out and gave yourself permission to smoke some pot, drink some alcohol, and get loose on a dance floor and not give a damn about what people think?
Right. Where can you use a taboo that won't hurt anybody but can really let you live a little bit? Because that's the effective use of the devil.
Yeah, you get the point. Yeah. A lot of people are deadly afraid. They will die a life of boredom before they will invite the devil in a positive way. And there you see how great a sense of humor God has. You think the devil's all bad?
Yeah. Aubrey, go sit with your mother and tell her about the you do in your bedroom, and she'll think you're the devil, pal. And your wife will probably be damn scared you're talking about it.
Yeah. You get just the fact? Yeah. I mean, I I think my my goodness is directly related to the amount that I've embraced my badness.
Totally like that's like that's actually a fundamental nature of of how I know myself as good. That's critical for shadow work.
Yeah. Right. You know, Jung said something a million things that were profound, but one of the things that Jung said that I think was very important that I share with people. It's not important to become perfect, but it is important to become whole.
Mhm. And to become whole, you have to take hold of the darker parts of yourself, the mistakes, the judgments, whatever you want to throw in that pile, and look at it and say, "That is me."
Yeah. And I am that, too. Yeah. And and you know, my wife Angie has a way of teaching this to her patients that's quite profound. I think you'll like it. She says, "Tell me any painting that you really love." And most everybody, you know, cuz we coach more mature people that have had some life experience. And so I'll say, "Just give me any painting you love, Aubrey."
Oh. Um, Bacelli's uh, spring. Okay, good. Now, I'm going to ask you a very important question. What would it look like if you removed all the shadow out of it? All the shading, all the shadow, it's all gone. What does it look like?
Flat. Yeah. Unattractive. Yeah. That's what happens when you don't embrace Yeah. your stuff.
I know. I think one of when I I often will explore and ask people, you know, to talk about a superhero, another myth that's been told of like who they identify with the most. You know, it's like an archetype. They're all different archetypes and and there's complexity in them. And you know, I've really found kind of like this connection with Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. And I think one of the reasons why is he's he's in some ways the most good. He kind of holds it all together and he's leading the Guardians of the Galaxy and but also, you know, at I think the end of Guardians 1 or 2, I can't remember which one it is, but he's talking to his crew and he's like, "Well, what should we just save the world, save the galaxy? Well, what should we do next?" And uh goes, "Little bit of good, little bit of bad, little bit of both."
Yeah. And then they fly off you go. And I'm like, "That's my guy." Cuz without that, you got nothing.
Yeah. That's my guy. You got nothing. And um if you look at myths in general, I'll I'll say particularly the Greek myths, you know, whether it be um um you know, Aphrodite or Hercules or um Midas or um Achilles. Every one of them had flaws. Yeah. Every one of them had problems. They had a dark side. And the myth is the story about what happens if you embrace the virtues and the morals and what happens if you fall into the the darkness of yourself and lose touch with the the the the greater wholeness of yourself.
Yeah. And I think you know I think you know scientific materialistic thinking has converted the word myth so that when people think it it or hear it they think it means a lie.
Right? And Ken Wilbur says something very profound about how to interpret a myth. And I'll share it with you because it's it's it's when I tell you it shows you how genius Ken Wilbur is. He says when you're reading a myth because people often deny myth because they say, "Oh, this can't be scientifically valid." Like they're taking the thing literally. He said, 'When you read a myth and it says something like Achilles could kill a thousand men by himself, he says you always want to use the words as if. It's as if kill Achilles could kill a thousand. It's as if, right, so and so was the most beautiful woman in the world. It's as if Hercules could crush a star with his hammer, uh, etc. Right? And when you understand to read myth as an as if, then you can get to the deeper qualities that the myth's conveying and not get trapped in the superficial aspects of the story. It's as if Aubrey was God, right? And how many mystics have been killed for telling the truth and saying, "I am God." A lot of them. But if you say, "It's as if I am God. I have the power to create my own life. I have the power to uh embrace good or evil. I have the power to love or not love. That's godly. I have the power to create or destroy myself. That's godly. Right? So, we can get over the hurdle of any resistance to myth because a lot of people have become so left-brain they can't even access their right brain or their imagination. So they don't want to embrace anything that doesn't, shall we say, fit their model of tangible reality, which is really forgetting how it all got here and the fact that it's all a mystery. So when but but I I have to just hats off to Ken Wilbur because when I in my studies heard him say that. Um and then I looked at all the myths from an as if perspective. I go now I can teach myth to left-brainers without them feeling so resistant to it.
Right? And it really helps. Right? And you know all stories are expressions of the realities of being human. Every one of them. And I think that's the importance of myth. Learn what it is to be human. And when you write your myth, you find out a lot about yourself.
Yeah. Because if you write your myth without imagination, it's not a myth. It's a narrative. Uh, now you're just, you know, sitting in a psychologist's office telling the history of your trauma or how many birthdays you've had.
Right. Right. Right. All right. We're uh we're wrapped. I I could talk with you forever and I I've really deeply enjoyed this time. You hinted at something and I want to step in with uh with the courage and openness. You've been with me now for a little while. We've kept in touch over some things. Tapping into the truth, trusting me to be able to receive it, whatever it is. What advice or guidance do you have for Aubrey?
Oh my god, let me think. Well, one, you know, you're 43 and you you as you know, you're walking a trail that I've walked a long time with women and and um you know, I have 63,000 students around the world. You have a lot of followers that that you know trust your guidance. I will share something that I feel from my own experience has helped me tremendously that I feel is a gift that would be very useful for you. Um because part of having a mind like yours is you can catch so much that's hard to filter through it and it's hard to um it's hard to actually embrace and practice all the things that you're exposed to, right? You can become almost schizophrenic. You know, you can get to where you can only do this meditation for 10 minutes and that one for five and this for three and then it's like, "Oh my god, I don't have time for this because there's nothing." You know, so you can find yourself kind of like how do I engage the world but grow myself spiritually, you know, it's like because you have such a big catch net and you're such a big personality, you can find yourself almost like the frog that realizes the pot is boiling and like and the it's you can't jump out because there's nothing to push down on. So before I tell you what I'm going to tell you, I'm going to tell you the story about how I learned it. I was teaching HLC2 in my Vista Institute and there was probably 35 or 40 people in the room and I was getting writing notes on the board and getting ready and I turned around right as this 110B Chinese-looking woman walked in the room. But I was stunned because her energy field was the most pristine, perfect, unified, harmonious, diamond-shaped, diamond, translucent field I've ever seen in my life. And it shocked me to my core because I had only read about people like that. I'd never ever in my life seen an energy field like that. And it took my breath away. I went, "What in the world is a woman who's that developed doing in my class?" I swear. And I immediately put down what I was doing, walked up to her, shook her hand, and said, "What is your name?"
Souk. Where are you from? Singapore. Why are you here? I want to learn holistic lifestyle coaching and I really love your teachings. May I take you in my office and ask you a few questions? Sure. I walked her right around the next door into my private office and I said, "I'm clairvoyant and I can see your energy field." And I described what I saw to her. She had tears come to her eyes. I said, "Suk, how did you do that?" She said, "Paul, three years ago, I was at a point in my life where I realized I needed a true spiritual teacher, and my heart guided me to this master, and he only has one practice, and that's all we practice." I said, "What is it?" She said, "Use your heart to feel what you know." and she wrote it for me in Chinese and translated it and it's right above the door you've been walking into since you got here. Right over your bedroom and that's it. Use your heart to feel what you know.
Yeah. Should I get involved or not? Use your heart to feel what you know. Should I spend money or not on this or that? Does this person really need my help or this the boy crying wolf? Use your heart to feel what you know.
That's powerful. That's my answer for you. That's powerful. That's I'm going to I'm going to carry that with me.
Paul, you're a treasure. Well, so are you. You're an absolute treasure. Uh I want to come back here and spend more time. This has been one of the one of the most nourishing little 18-hour stays I've had in a long time.
Well, you know, I because I I I realize how much you move around and and how much you're involved in. And I remember last time you were going to come, you were just exhausted. That's why I got a hold of you and I said, "Aubrey, come come at least the night before so you can just be here and not have to rush to get out of here because the energy here is very healing." And this is my temple. It took my whole life of working hard and Penny and Angie to get here. It took us 5 years to find this place and we've poured our love into it. And I knew if I could just get you here long enough to at least connect to the ground and sleep in that totally organic bed with a beautiful sunlight patio next to you and you know some give you some great food that it it would um help you recharge and and then it would be easier for me to get you back here.
Amen to that. Amen to that. All right. Spirit Spirit Gym, where do people go? How do they myspiritjyim.com? There's lots there. Uh you can learn all about it. You can listen to my podcast. I talk about it a lot on there, which is uh spiritjy withpek. Um you can go to paulcheck.com and that's kind of a hub for all my stuff. Um but spirit gym is a um it's the summary of 15 volumes that I wrote which we're about to release. Volume one. Now, um the master key teachings synthesize all 15 volumes into 75 lessons and about 80 something hours of training that you get access to if you do the full membership. I have a weekly SA where I give a lesson either at a spirit gym or something else I think is important for your development. Right now, we're going through the 21 uh 22 major arcana including the fool. So, and I'm teaching them how those psychic functions are always at work in their unconscious and why they need to be conscious of them so they don't bury themselves in more shadow and pain. And they're digging it. And then you can ask me any question you want from the lessons or I will help you just like I do my private clients with your personal challenges. And we have everything in there from health problems to life crisis problems to you name it. And so everybody gets to learn as I coach each person how to engage these issues and how to solve these problems. And the community is I don't know the last time I counted 230 along those lines. And it's growing and the people are beautiful. They're committed and it's just I'm I just feel so blessed that I followed my heart and did what I feel I'm supposed to be doing at this time in my life. And uh you know this is not just a bunch of broken-down wannabes. These are like very often very successful people that are just really ready to truly have a holistic approach to spiritual development. That's the other thing. My approach isn't just a bunch of memorization of verses and stuff. It's got diet training in there. It's got breathing. It's got thinking. It's got movement. It's got all aspects of health. I I see spiritual development as completely holistic. I don't think Yeah. Everything is connected to everything else.
Yeah. You can't you can't be an enlightened sick person, you know. It doesn't work. You know, you you got to really once you realize what God is, then we got to garden and take care of the garden. And we are the garden, right? So I I I I like to help people connect their heart to their mind and their heart and their mind to their body and synchronize those with their creative impulse. And then then you can create the life you want to live. And um I think you know I can teach that because I've done it and I know that's what you do too. And I think people just need people that have done it to show them, look, challenges, everybody gets them. Don't let that stop you.
Yeah. Um, you know, be respectful of the gift you've got as a body and know what it needs to be healthy and give it to it or you're still and calling for more visits with the pain teacher. You know, some things we can manage without a lot of effort or intelligence. I mean, drink clean water, eat real food, get enough sleep, move your body. You don't need to be a genius, you know, you just got to do it. And and it's easier to do when you got a community of people, you know, that are there to support you and also tell you when you're bullshitting yourself.
Yeah. That's important, too. Yeah. And when they can do that with love, then you feel supported. You don't feel threatened.
Yeah. That's that's how I want to finish the rest of my life out doing my podcast and and running Spirit Gym and finishing the book series and then writing a bunch of small easy-to-digest books on little things that are important.
Sounds like a beautiful myth. Yeah, it sounds sounds like a lot of what like you too. And wouldn't you agree that right now the world really lacks elders and wise people, right? And so I'm hoping that Spirit Gym produces a lot of them.
Yeah. Something that's hugely missing is uh is those that get wiser with their years rather than just authenticity. Yeah. Like you know, just embrace being yourself. What a gift. Just go out in the world and really love yourself and be yourself. There's only one ever of any of us, right? God is a novelty generator. You know, you know, Aeros, right? God is aeros. God does not repeat anything twice. You can't find two grains of sand on this planet that are identical and you never will. You can't two find even identical twins are not identical. So when you realize that you've got a one-shot chance in the totality of eternity to really step into your boots and live your myth and just go for it. What an amazing freaking opportunity. Then the world becomes meaningful. Then you see the myths playing out. The wars, the the famines, the plandemics. It's all what keeps the damn thing going and interesting. And that's when you got to stick your head in the lion's mouth and go for it. Because if you're waiting for Donald Trump to fix it or RA of K to fix it or Jesus to come back, you're hoping someone else is going to play your role of participating.
Yeah. Be the main character in your own story. Get Get it on, baby. Okay. Hey, let's go. I love you, Paul.
