Most of the NBA offseason is behind us. At least I shouldn't say most of the important parts. Timewise, we're only about a week and a half in, but most of the important dominoes have dropped. We're kind of just waiting on LeBron James and Jonathan Kaminga to decide where they're going to play this year. All the other names of merit are gone.
>> The stars. >> The stars. The stars that will decide that >> crazy Kaminga is a star in his mind now. That's so crazy. >> [ __ ] no, he's not. But he's in terms of players being talked about, he's being treated like one right now by the media cuz there's not much else left on the market.
With that being said though, we are also about a week in to Paul George being a Celtic. Be souls. >> Yes. >> Give me a progress update. How are your emotions right now around the trade? >> Um, we're a good team, man. I'm coming to terms. I want to say I'm pro Jaylen Brown uh trade, but man, two super max contracts is crazy. Brad Stevens was right about that. >> Yeah, people don't talk about that enough. I feel like that's a quite reasonable angle that everyone's ignored. Like two 35% maxes is kind of untenable. >> He was spamming that like, "Yeah, I'm not going to lie. We're trying to build a championship roster. We just can't do it with two players taking up 70% of the cap. >> God damn. I kind >> Paul George makes 54 million and 56 million. >> Exactly. That's another That's a counter point is that it's not that big of a savings, but it's, you know, one year or less. >> How long is Jaylen Brown's contract like right now? Three years. Yeah. >> And then he was extension eligible. >> Mhm. That's the thing. He wanted an extension. Yeah. >> Yeah. And I promise you he didn't want to pay cut. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So, nevertheless, you're coping. >> Yeah. A little bit. >> You say so. >> Donovan, are you coping after me Robinson loss? I'm just trying to move on with my life, man. You know, I'm trying >> Pascope. >> It It is what it is. >> Okay. You're Rich Nirvana. >> I'm just You know what? Who's ever in the locker room? We got to go to war with these guys. That's what it's going to be. I guess my code would be they will make a deal at the deadline. >> Okay. >> Sure. >> So, I'm waiting until February. >> Aren't you guys the second April team or not? Oh, you're not actually. >> Would not? >> Yeah. >> Because >> Yep. Yep. >> Because Mitch is not here. >> Okay. M and apparently I'm coping by thinking about John the Kamingo in a positive light. >> Absolutely. Yeah, he is. >> That might be the biggest cop out of us. >> Yeah, for sure. Absolutely. He is your best wing defender right now. So, >> well, he's not on the team yet potentially. >> If if they sign will be. >> And yet, he's still the best wing defender on the team. >> Yeah, I don't care that much they get him, but I guess I'd rather happen than not.
But on the topic of all of our cope, all of our thoughts about every team's offseason that's gone down in the past 10 days, as you see by the title, we are gonna take a look at a wide angle of every single team's offseason and what their future might say based on that offseason and tell you guys what we think about their future in one word. Now, naturally, more words will come after that one word, but we're going to distill it down to one word that defines what this next era for every team will look like coming off of this free agency. >> Can you imagine if you actually just said one word? This would be like a 2 minute and 15 second show. So, we'll say one word followed by many words. Yeah, man. You guys know how it goes. Make sure, like I've been telling you for the last few weeks, check out the T3 merch. That is the first link in the description. We have every single seasonal merch drop from the past three years available right now for the whole summer. Go check it out. Check out House Call. Check out our Love Island corners that have been on House Call. Recapping Love Island USA, all of that. Cue the intro music. Let's talk about every NBA team. >> We're throwing it back. Wo, >> that's crazy. >> He was bragging. I >> The cranium is crazy. Oh my god. >> Crown eaters, rejoice.
So, you guys know how this works. When we do these every single team episodes, we will go division by division until we cover every team. And actually today we're going to start with the team that typically is the last division we do every time because we always forget about the teams in this division. Central is up first because we have to talk about the Cleveland Cavaliers who just signed Donovan Mitchell to a $70 million a year contract. He will now make 322.9 million over the next five seasons with the final season being his age 33 season. I repeat, age 33 for a small guard in which he'll be making $75.5 million on a player option. That is the lay of the land for Don Mitchell's contract right now. How does this first of all, what do you think about this contract and what does that say to you about their future and what word you give them? >> Shout out to D Mitch. >> Secured the bag, man. You did a good job. You can rest. >> Shout out to his agent. He can rest for five years. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> W2 income, man. I say it every time. with benefits and all. >> The first single word that I can think of when when it comes to Cleveland Cavaliers as a whole and it really like embodies this contract and Donovan Mitchell relevant. >> They're going to be relevant for a long time for the next few years at least. Obviously with this contract, I think having Donovan Mitchell and also Evan Mobley gives you a ridiculous floor to be a competitive team and not every single team in the league has to, you know, be built to win a championship every single year. Of course, you want to give yourself the best shot and then you want to maximize on that. And I think this is what it does for the Cavs. You know, when was the last time the Cavs got a top tier free agent or anything like that or were in position to make like blockbuster trades >> ditch? >> When they got ditched, you know, and for the Cavs, it's not so often unless LeBron James is hovering around your team. So, and I guess he's doing that now. >> Guess he's hovering around the team. >> Exactly. And when it comes to this signing or this resigning right now, I like it only because you get to be relevant for a couple of more years and that's value. That's how you build up your team and the history behind it even more. >> Yeah, we were talking about D Mitch and how the playoff performance wasn't fantastic this year. The regular season, the year before wasn't fantastic numbers wise. The team was really good, but his scoring took a dip as he sacrificed for the team. Efficiency wasn't great. There was like some signs that like I would say us three, we're not we're not panicking about D Mitch, but we're not like the most excited about the proposition of building around Ditch as an organization. If we were a fan of this team, >> I think that's a fair assessment of all our opinions. At the very least, we're not like super thrilled about the prospect of Ditch being our franchise player. >> Add me in there. >> Add you in there. All four of us. Not super thrilled about the prospect of Ditch being our top franchise player for the next several years. >> No. >> So, I would say none of us are probably thrilled about paying him $75 million when he's 33. Is that correct? >> Sure. >> Very accurate. >> Very accurate to say the least. So, I'm not up here to be like it's a bad deal. It probably won't be a great deal at the end. To be fair, the Cleveland Cavaliers are aware of this. >> They're not morons. They know that Dish will probably not be worth $75 million as he approaches his mid-30s. The point is to what you said, you kind of just got to deal if you're them. They suppose you're trying to be relevant. You're trying to be a team that stays afloat. That's the word I would use for their new era. They're afloat. They could do a hard reset. Trade de Mitch sell high like somebody like me would say to do. Easier said than done, I'm sure. when you're making decisions for a franchise and you have the ownership idea of it, the fan idea of it and all the things that go into it rather than just sitting on a couch and saying trade D Mitch. So, I get it to some extent. The fact that LeBron might come back, the fact that they could trade Jared Allen, could keep him, Evobi is there, could be a future superstar, could just be Evoli, we don't know really. All of it to me is just staying afloat and seeing what happens and hoping you can get a Knicks arc. The Knicks are probably going to inspire a lot of good, not great teams to just keep going and hope that time heals all and eventually you kind of figure it out because you have so much talent in the door that you stay afloat until it's your moments. They're kind of the definition of that to me. >> Yeah. Um I It sucks cuz it's not D Mitch's fault, but it's it's instantly a bad deal. >> Like instantly will be a bad deal. There's no chance it's not by the end. >> Yeah. >> But for the next few years, I suppose it's all right. maybe for like a year, but it's just it's like >> for a year it's cool. >> This whole thing is is pressurized. And I think like for them they have to they have to maximize their ability to win a title now. >> And if if that takes, you know, giving demyst this contract and dealing with it on the back end, then then so be it. But we've seen we've seen team after team after team over the last couple years just break up because your your guys are making insane amounts of of money. Like by by the time D Mitch gets to the end of this contract, we're going to have deals where people are making a million dollars a game, right? Where people are making $82 million a year. And I think it's very hard for teams to actually build a squad where somebody's making this much money and you have the penalties that that come along with the second apron. So it's not again it's not his fault. He's he's earned it completely. But it just puts the Cavs in a really really tough spot. And so this is where like you wish that that teams that were able to offer their stars this type of of money had some type of relief to it so that it doesn't instantly become something where now >> you know everybody's happy on signing day and then the day after it's like yo what are we going to do in five years like this is low-key bad. >> Yeah. >> So it's it's it's it's tough that way. >> Yeah. Try to sugar coat it. I don't love it. You're right. It is what it is that like it's not great in terms of setting them up. It's not a value contract that you feel great about. The realities are the realities. You're not going to be upset with employing a top 15 player in the world while he is that. >> We know he won't be that forever. His archetype suggests he might not be that for the extent of this contract. So, >> there's definitely a lot of downside if you want to be a pessimist as a Cavs fan. I can't really pitch to you anything positive. The best I can pitch to you is like neutrality and it's all right. I mean, the positive things that I can say about this is like, okay, you know that Evan Mobley has like reached or damn near like touched his ceiling as a player, and that's perfectly fine. It's slightly disappointed because we all thought of him as having like a top 15ish ceiling in the entire world. But clearly, it's just not that and that's perfectly fine. Meanwhile, you have someone like Donovan Mitch who's like going to give you routine like 27 28 a game. His style of play of course can be controversial at times I guess but overall he's going to going back to what you said keep you afloat and then on top of that too you're building you want Donovan Mitchell to be a team legend at this point and this is what this contract says you want him to be remembered as a Cavalier a consistent perennial all-star and a guy who's routinely making the all-star team top to towards the top of the league when it comes to jersey sales and all that and then what makes this contract a little bit easier to soften is that okay the Cavs do have their picks reset set at the end of the whole Jared Island and when they actually got Donovan Mitchell their picks end up resetting and towards the end of this contract they have everything. So if there is a pivot and they want to get off Donovan Mitchell that opportunity is there. I think this really what matters in this contract is does LeBron James come or not >> because like you said Donovan that this contract is clearly that they have to maximize their ability to win right now that they're a win now team and they're not pivoting away from that. They're trying to be the Knicks and hope that enough years in a row with this core, eventually things will break, right? I think the hope for that to happen is LeBron James comes and gives you two more years of all-star level production before he retires. >> It it has to be. >> Yeah. >> And if you can LeBron, especially on a veteran minimum, that's the type of thing that can make you have a Knicks run because that's insane value ad. >> Yeah. I the last so the last year of Evan Mobley's deal and whatever year that coincides with u with D Mitch's deal they are going to make 70% of the cap combined and so I like the cap is going to be different and it's going to rise in a couple or projected to rise in in the next couple years so those numbers are going to be are going to be different but we just saw a championship duo of Tatum and Jaylen Brown be broken up and at least from the messaging that we've heard from Brad Stevens a lot of it is we can't have two guys making that much money together. And so if you have a duo that's already proven, that's already shown their their capabilities, what the hell am I supposed to think about Ditch and Evobia at this point making that much money together? It it's very hard to wrap my mind around what this team is going to be next year if this year is not the year for them. >> So LeBron, come save the Cavs again. They need you in a different way. They're not they're not downtrodden like they were last time, but >> they're on the precipice of being a real contender and they need you to put them over put them over the edge. >> Yeah, I agree. >> I know. I'll be I'll be kind of moved if they do get LeBron, which it seems like they do in my opinion reading the tea leaves. >> I'll be kind of moved by that fit, I think. Especially because we've seen some some rumors out there that they are not just open to, but like kind of want to trade Jared Allen and like reset their team. Not for like just picks a dump or anything, but they want to like trade him for a comparable wing player or whatever it might be to be a FMobia at center type of team. I I think I can be moved by this team when they hit their final form if they get LeBron. >> You're not buying the the 76er propaganda. >> What does it mean to buy the propaganda >> that that you're like believing in it as the >> that he'll go there or that he should go there or >> that he'll go there? >> He could I don't I don't think there's a 0% chance he picks them, right? Like there's something there cuz Maxi's clutch and like there's something there. I would be surprised if the positives and negatives are weighed by LeBron James and he decides Philly over the Cavs. >> Yeah, that just doesn't scream like a late stage career move at all. And if you are trying to do that, yeah, I guess it makes sense. Obviously, it's a good fit on paper, but I right now I'm kind of settled into thinking that he's going to be cast because he's home. Okay. Yeah. And I don't think it's that great of a fit on paper and I wonder what he thinks about that >> cuz you know a lot of hoopers out there. Maybe maybe it is cool, but I imagine LeBron's aware of the lot there's a lot of balls if a lot of mouse feet out there. >> That was a problem with the Lakers and he want to be third option. Is he thrilled to be a third option here with lesser talent? I don't know. >> So I I think it's a little less smooth than made out to be. >> Jaylen Brown gonna be the fourth option on that team, bro. >> Jaylen, >> no. Jaylen Brown's gonna make LeBron be the fourth option. Make him feel it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So it's a little weird with clunky fit to me that I just kind of hope he goes to the Cavs, you know.
Uh, next team to talk about one word to describe their future: Milwaukee Bucks finally trade LeBron James. Oops. Finally trade Giannis. Now have a young Braden Burries, Nate Amens, and a bunch of players that they traded for from the Miami Heats to go with Ryan Rollins who's already existing and who are now as the keys to the point guard position. One word to describe their new era post-Giannis. >> Finally. [ __ ] Damn. Finally, dude. It's over. I can like >> four words. Two of which were the same. I can finally think about this team as like a complete new slate. They don't have, you know, all their picks and that's the situation that they're in really does suck. But you can at least like look at this team and be like, "Wow, this is a fresh breath of air." I saw something that was [ __ ] hilarious. The other day I saw on TikTok someone was recording Kyle Koozma like play ones versus some random dude. He was getting absolutely clamped. It was hilarious. >> I forget he's on that team. It ran aside. I saw Koozma get damned by >> Yeah, he got >> a breath of fresh air. >> The Bucks have >> they got to get rid of Koozma, >> but other than that Yo, this it's fresh air in here. I like >> these are great. Koozma sucks. >> Awesome. Uh >> this is filler. >> Filler filler. >> This is this bro. Tyler Herro is wearing number 42. What are What are we doing? >> It's a bad number. >> What are we What are we doing? We're just out here trying stuff, throwing stuff at the wall, seeing if we can if anything sticks. I This is not like a This is not a team that is going to win a title or or even compete for the playoffs or the playin. This is the team that is going to put you in position to capitalize on the draft picks that you got from trading Giannis. And so, at this time, yes, it is a breath of fresh air. We're going to hope that we can have fun in the process and in the process of losing 50 to 60 games a year, but it's not it's not something where I'm expecting a lot from from the Bucks and in five years we'll look up and be like literally what just happened.
Okay. Filler for the Bucks. Detroit Pistons. How do we describe them right now in their future after an offseason in which I'd say they're a little bit less active so far than people would want? The Jaylen Darren thing is still stretching on. You have to assume they'll retain him. Maybe they'll make him upset because they didn't give enough money. Nevertheless, he'll be on the team next year and he will be on a long-term contract because they have the they have all the power in a restricted free agency environment. They get Isaiah Joe to be a new shooter there. They replace Tobias Harris with John Collins and they draft their backup point guard that should hopefully give them a lot of juice that they need and a second ball handler next to Kate in some of these lineups. >> Overall, they also did do this trade yesterday. >> Oh yeah, this trade yesterday. They got Torian Prince and Gary Harris. >> Nice. >> Cool. More Harrison in 2026. Okay. >> Theoretical 3 and D type players which never never hurts. >> Yeah. >> What is that? It's shaky. >> Okay. >> I think for me I'm just optimistic because they did they didn't do any like big splash moves. Going back to what you said, but they did add more depth and quality players and Isaiah Joe who can be like a quality rotation piece. They did add Ibuka Cororey who in theory is like a he's going to be like a light up bench scorer. Dennis Jenkins is still there who was that for them last season and then John Collins is like your routine like I don't know 12 and five guy. >> Yeah. >> Similar level player Tobias Harris. It's not I'm not going to lie, it's a slightly disappointing season off seasonason for me because I thought they were going to do something crazy considering like you won 60 goddamn games last year. No one saw that coming. But it it feels like a very stale off season for me personally. That's why I feel optimistic. But the ceiling of guys like Ibuka Cororey hitting is high. John Khan's being like another lob threat for them. It makes their offense a little bit more interesting. But they do they're relying a lot on Buku Cororey and Ajo Ajo to really hit for them. I wouldn't even say that they are you're right especially Bukori but I think what they're really relying on is just internal growth. >> They're relying on just K to Sar and Duran to be better next year growing from the experience they just got. I would say they're one word to describe this next year. Patient. I think they're trying to resist doing too much and >> which I understand. >> I understand. Right. Like as a fan, I was saying at the deadline, I actually want them to do too much. I would like a maximus approach to the opportunity they just had. Hope we were talking about hoping they trade for a Michael Porter Jr. or whatever insert score X you want to see on the wing next to Cade. I would still like to see that in theory, but I do understand the situation they're in. They're having to pay Duran maybe upwards of 35 to40 million dollars which is tough. Assar is looming as a guy who's going to get a lot of money for being the best perimeter defender in the league. Kad's already expensive. It's much easier said than done to go out there and make some big splash move to get a big contract. So, I can respect them being patient and saying we feel good what we have. We're not going to listen to the just stomping of feet telling us to go out there and get one more big piece just to do it because we are obligated to in the position we're in. They weigh the options and feel like the position they're in, being conservative is the best approach. And time will tell if they're right or not. I don't know how much faith I should have in an Assar Thompson or Ron Holland offensive leap in a Jaylen Duran bounce back from that playoff performance to get even better on the defensive end in a Cory to come in and be an immediate contributor. I don't feel strong or bad either way. I I'll just wait and see. I think >> Yeah. I think they had like everybody has their time to to be patient. >> Yeah. And if they if they're just gonna be the most patient team in the league, then so be it. Like, you know, like I can't I can't hate on them for that. I just think that >> But it also doesn't inspire you. >> Yeah. And and a lot of teams in the East are are doing things and at least on paper are addressing issues in the in the that have played them in the in the past. And the Pistons haven't really done that. And they were like a borderline top 10 offense last year. Not sure like last year felt like the perfect scenario for them in terms of winning 60 games even with Kade having the collapse along your defense, your culture, drives, everything that that you're doing. And while defense and this culture can be consistent year-over-year, I do think that at a certain point you do want things to be balanced a little bit. And I'm not sure if their their offense is is going to catch up to where their their defense is and they're not making a lot of moves that make me feel like you said inspired that that's going to be the case this next year.
All right. Chicago Bulls draft Caleb Wilson have their new hopefully franchise player. Whole lot of length around him as Modis him Swain Claxton to be their starting center for the time being. Lots of long skinny players. You have an identity now. How do you describe that identity in their future going forward with one word? >> Sneaky. >> Sneaky. Sneaky. >> Sneaky. >> Yeah. I'm not going to lie. I have I like this. >> I have three words for y'all. Must see TV, bro. They're going to be so [ __ ] fun to watch next year. >> I can imagine. You >> sure? >> Abso [ __ ] lutely. Yes. Between Modest and Between Modis and Caleb and then Norman giving them a good amount of spacing, too. And then Josh Giddy, all he knows is how to run up and down, too. Like, it's going to be mad fun. >> We going to some games this season? >> Maybe. >> Probably. Oh, definitely. Last year I wanted to, but the team was so just [ __ ] I didn't want to go. >> I'm I'm down to go watch Kayla Wilson for sure. >> Yeah, absolutely. They're going to be fun as [ __ ] >> Can they make the playoffs this year? >> I think that maybe we need to calm down with fun as [ __ ] I think there might be a little more groin paint than we think. There is one shooter in this lineup. They are very skinny. There's one actually zero guys who can reliably get a paint touch off the dribble right now. I think >> any can any of these guys bench 135? >> Maybe. Maybe. So, I do think there's a little more maybe growing pains than we are assuming, but best case scenario, best case scenario, you can't be right. Second half of the season, you can definitely be right. Obviously, the athleticism on the wing of Caleb Modus is going to be crazy. We'll see what the rest of guys do around that. >> I'm with you. I I think sneaky is a good way to phrase it because they were sneaky smart this off seasonason and you don't usually expect that from the Chicago Bulls. >> Yeah, I mean, they got a whole new regime in there and I think that when it comes to yo, this team won 31 games last year. this team easily with the addition of internal growth between modest and I think he's gonna be like a front runner for MIP. Norman Pal is gonna give you the routine like 18 points per game and then Caleb Wilson is just like an enigma in my mind and he can be so many things in this league especially year one. I think that this team can give you like at least like maybe 38 wins maybe 40 wins like 40 40 41 mid wins or something like that and >> back to mid but a mid that we like long term. >> Good mid. Fun mid. I can expect hella lobs. I can effect expect like hella like fast break points and [ __ ] like that. That's why they're fun. >> Fun mid. That's how that's the goal they had this season was to be fun mid. We knew they still have an addiction to mid. They're they haven't quite shook that [ __ ] yet, but it's going to be fun mid that can eventually be better instead of the bad stale mid they've been for three years. >> Yeah. Like of course there's going to be growing pains for a team like this. But yo, like the growing pains sometimes what makes this team fun because you don't expect anything crazy. You don't have any high expectation for elite level basketball. You think it's kind of be uh going to be like the Hornets last year? >> No. >> Nah. >> No, not yet. >> Not yet. >> I don't think any other players are like as polished offensively and have like >> crazy skills like Khan Kipple and Brandon Miller's athleticism and all that and LaMelo Ball just doing crazy [ __ ] >> Last team is division. The Indiana Pacers >> get back. That's that's how you describe it. Revenge return. >> Hallebertton. That's all that matters literally. >> The the comeback. That's all it is. You had a gap year. Now this what happens after a gap year. You come back and you get back to the level you're at before. Hopefully the level you're at in that second half of the season that led to obviously the finals run but that for an entire season so you can be a top three seed now that you have a better center in Zubach coming back everybody around him had the year to get more touches and hopefully polish your game even more hopefully it's the best version of yourself now. >> Yeah. Only thing that sucks from this this past season is like whenever teams do have like filler years and [ __ ] they do like have one or maybe two random role players who break onto the scene. Yo, Pat didn't have none of that, bro. The best thing that the best takeaway that they could have is like, yo, shout out to Johnny Fury and his rebounding. That's it. >> Why are they pres Whoever made this tweet, why are they assuming Kelly Uber starts over Nith? >> They don't know ball. >> That's ridiculous. >> They don't know about Demon Naymith. >> They don't [ __ ] They don't remember that playoff run. The fear he struck in Don's heart. >> Looking like Prime Ray Allen out there, man. >> Yeah, it's crazy. >> But other than Yeah, we know what is up with them. They're they're just trying to get back to what they were before. Comeback is the story of their next year. Yeah.
Next division, Pacific Division. What is one word to describe the Golden State Warriors going into this next year? Still pursuing LeBron James. We don't know where that goes, but as of now, they pretty much just added Yel. They lost Quinn Post to the Grizzlies. They chose not to match his $10 million offer sheet. >> Earth shaking. >> They retain KP. They retain Al Horford. Jimmy Bullet would back come January presumably, unless they trade him for Anthony Davis, which doesn't seem like it's going to happen right now, but we know they're still pursuing it. without LeBron, assuming it doesn't happen. How do you describe them going to the future? >> Aching. >> Aching. >> Aching. >> I don't as a arthritis. >> Yeah. As as the the play the players on the actual team, they are obviously very old. um this front office hasn't shown the best ability of drafting like year in and year out or finding uh gems that are going to be here like for years and years and be legitimate playoff guys. So I think that they're they're in a spot where you're coming to the end of the Curry era. You had the you know you were flirting around with Traden Draymond at the deadline last year. It kind of just sucks and and hurts a little bit to see this version of the Warriors kind of kind of whimper out. And I think also a lot of these guys are just going to be aching. >> Yeah, I would describe it as like just holding on. >> Wait, Mo Bomb is on this team, >> I guess. So, >> [ __ ] All right. >> Definitely not the starting center. But yeah, these random ass tweets about potential lineups, people just yap at the time here. What are you talking about? I promise you it's not the starting lineup. >> Yeah, >> Will Richard, Draymond Mo. What are we talking about? Man, I didn't know the word for this damn bad. >> Yo, pretend this get this on my screen. Who's this idiot? >> My word is cranky. Yo, if they don't get LeBron, bro, it's going to be the vibes are going to be so like awkward cuz it's like damn, we got Steph at what, age 39 now, which is crazy. >> Like 46 probably. >> God damn. And then you got Draymond still trying to do Draymond things. Yaxel is going to be good. But outside of that, like just hope and pray like Jimmy's ACL is good by the time I don't know March comes around. But in between then, you're just going to be like twiddling your fingers and trying to survive in the West. Have they flown too close to LeBron son where like Draymond's on podcast? We have reports from Shams that he's going to meet with him this week, whatever that's worth. Like they're pretty they're pretty all in on LeBron James. >> They're having lunch. >> Dr. They're having lunch. Draymond took a pay cut and it was reported by Shams as a pay cut to pursue LeBron James. That's no coincidence. I wonder who told them to report it that way. Like they've made themselves abundantly clear that we want LeBron James. That's how we're going out. We're going out as an achy team that's the most achy ever cuz we have the oldest team with the best old player ever. That's our identity. If they don't get him, they're just an achy team without the best old player ever and it's just kind of mid. Are they sending their fans out to be very upset next year? >> 100%. >> Yeah. >> Is that going to be a mistake? >> Um, no. cuz I so I don't think it's going to be a mistake cuz I do think there's a part of the fan base that's like, man, we don't need LeBron anyways. Yeah. And they'll they'll latch on to the idea of of Steph and all the other old guys, you know, piecing it together by themselves and Jimmy coming back in the second half of the year. So, they're probably fine on on that front. But, they probably did do a bit much. Specifically, Draymond probably did a little bit too much because if they don't get LeBron and you decline that option, Well, they'll probably pay him like, >> "Hey, man." >> If they don't get it, it'll probably just give him the same amount of money. >> You owe me $15 million. That's how that's how I'm feeling at that point. >> It's a big swing in a miss for sure. But maybe it's a hit though. We We don't know where LeBron's going to go. He six days from now, he could be a Warrior. We still really don't know. >> Yeah.
Los Angeles Clippers sign Ruy Hatchima, trade Kawhi Leonard, rip the Bandit off of this era before the aspiration scandal, punishment, and come down. >> Now they have a projected lineup: Darius Garland, Keen Waggler, Brandon Ingram, Ruy Hachima, Brook Lopez not grabbing a single rebound. >> Reinvigorated >> in what way? I think it might be the opposite of reinvigorated. >> Really? >> What the hell? You You feel reinvigorated by this picture. >> They had Kawawaii Paul asleep. They had Kawhai Paul George and James Harden on the roster a year and a half ago and now they have a new lease on on life >> with with Garland with a with a a young back court and guys to fill the and guys to fill the the starting lineup with. >> When I hear reinvigorated, I think like I'm enjoying myself in the present. I'm alive again. And I think they set themselves up to be alive again in a few years. This team sucks [ __ ] This sucks. I don't want to watch this. >> When you are an addict. Okay, tell me about it. >> And you are trying to get sober. Day one of being sober may not be the best day of your life, but you know that you have to do that in order to get to a spot where 5 years down the line you can have your medal. You can go to the to the meetings and be like, "Listen, I turned my life around." And that's the time where where it's good. They are day one out. >> All the guys who are five years sober listening to that like, "Don, it's my man, bro." They're crying right now. It's me. >> Yeah. It's a new lease on life. there re reim invigorated. You're not going to feel the effects now, but you will later. And that's what the clippers on. >> I think the word is recovery. We're on the path. >> Okay, >> there you go. Fair that you good point. You have to have the first month of withdrawals and it's not going to be a fun time. You're going to want to relapse. You're friends have to hold you down. You're going to be good eventually, but it's going to suck watching Ruie and Brook Lopez grab no rebounds. >> Yeah, they're itching to sign Demar D Rozan right now. >> They really are. Demar. >> Yeah, this will not be a fun team at all in year one. But there is hope for the future now that you got the first round picks for Kawawaii. You have the Waggler, Darius Garland backcourt if you keep them both longterm. We'll see. There's avenues to get more picks. I'm sure they kind of sign Ruie to eventually flip them at the deadline, get more picks, use that cap space in a strategic way long term. They're definitely making good moves. You should feel good if you're a Clippers fan, but also be prepared to watch some stinky basketball next year. >> Yeah, they're winning 35 games next year, I think. For sure. I'll be shocked if they crack like 43 wins. >> Yeah, I don't think it's going to be a great team. >> Yeah, >> but maybe they still make moves and maybe we change our minds, but I hope they don't. I hope they continue to be a bad team and they just >> actually wait. They don't have pick control next year, do they? >> They don't. >> They do not. So, actually, it doesn't matter. So, it doesn't matter what happens to them, really. So, do what you want. >> That Clipper wall going to look fake as [ __ ] next year. >> They're going to have plants in there. >> They're going to have you in there. They're going to hire you. >> Hell yeah.
Los Angeles Lakers. One word to describe their future. They paid you when you go. >> Hell yeah. >> Hey man, there's a price to everything. I'm not going to lie. >> What's the price for you today to Let's assume right now we're talking. Imagine yourself in November. >> Mhm. >> They call you and say, "We need you. We know you're a loud guy." >> They just for some reason assume that of you. >> Yeah. >> We know you can scream at a game. You can bring the energy. We want you to fly to Los Angeles tomorrow morning, >> 6 a.m. flight. Come watch Clippers versus Kings >> just for one game. like >> one game and scream every time Brandon Ingram shoots a mid-range bucket. >> Oh, give me 5K. >> Damn. 5K. >> Yo, his rates are OD. >> He's expensive. >> Five. 5K and the travel and expenses cover for I'll yell. >> Let's go club. >> That sound like a condor. >> That sounds like a condor. He sounds very birdlike in that. >> Yeah. >> You got to give me like a halftime show performance in order for you to get 5K out of me. That's ridiculous. >> You're You are getting paid more than than the halftime show. Yeah, they're going to make you [ __ ] shake ass on the halftime court. >> Shake ass. Like do a meet and greet. Like I need so much more [ __ ] for the 5K, bro. >> Do whatever. >> You get 500. If we're if they're paying for the flight, you get 500. >> Nah, I know. Hey, man. We We talked about this on on a recent podcast. My price is my price. You going to have to negotiate me down. >> Fair. >> So, they're on the path to recovery. >> Long at 700. >> 700. Yes. One word to describe the Lakers future after bringing in Walker Kesler. >> Exactly. >> White. >> White. Uh uh. Gamble. They're gambling. >> I think it's a good gamble. >> Yes. >> I think it's a solid hand. I don't know. I don't know poker references. Whatever it is, I think it's a solid hand. It's not a like clearcut, I'm going to win, everybody fold, but it's a good hand. >> But it's definitely a gamble. And that gamble and that good hand I'm talking about is Walker Kesler who obviously their entire future kind of depends on >> and that's a strange place to be right where I tell you the future of the most prestigious organization in in basketball >> rides on Walker Kesler. >> The guy from Georgia, some random dude from Georgia, >> some random center from the Jazz that most people would just that most average fans would think about as just some random big man that $32 million for a guy I've never heard of. What the hell? But I do think Walker Kesler is like a potentially elite at minimum very good center waiting to be on a great team that can maximize his value and you know make it so he's worth $32 million. I think it's a good bet that that does happen and he is everything they hope they can be and they do have this big three of white stars that kind of carry their team. I think it is a good bet at its core. And if those three work, being Luca, Reeves, Walker, Kesler, all the other margin stuff we're talking about that they didn't get great value for, matters a whole lot less if you do have three guys that can have like almost all-star caliber production. >> But that's the whole gamble. It's do these three white guys fit together? If not, we're going to have to mix some [ __ ] up. Seriously, >> if I didn't know any context about Walker Kessler at all and I was just like a casual fan, I'd be like, "Wow, bro." I'd be pissed because all these years, Rob Pink, you tell me where we're saving our picks. saving our picks just for Walker Kesler pretty much and that's it. That [ __ ] reeks. Now, of course, like reading between lines and knowing the ceiling of Walker Kesler and knowing also how he's been somewhat injury over these last well, specifically last year, I am still optimistic about him being like a top 10 center in this league, which I still think is in the cards for him. But yo man, like it's going to be weird seeing pretty much their entire roster over the course of the last two years just be flipped on its head with no LeBron there and Austin Reese being the long 10ear dude there and the guy all the guys who pretty much won them the first round series last year just gone. They're not here and now you're building a new culture, a new identity and it's like you're fully buying buying in for the first time into this new Luca Donis era. That's been my least favorite talking point I see on Twitter non-stop. >> This is the first time we've seen a whole starting lineup to want a playoff series leave. What are they doing? >> That sentence is true. >> To not speak of the context of why that team had to be the starting lineup and to act like it's actually losing your five best players. People are treating it as like more it's a cool fun fact, but people are treating it like it's actually a sign of like malpractice. >> No. >> Like Luca and Reeds are still here. That team only won a playoff series cuz the Rockets were also injured and incompetent. Like I for me it's just rare to see it's just rare to see in general for a team that's
still going to be good. They're they still might win the same exact amount of games from last year to this year. It's just rare to see like you only see these type of teams pretty much quoteunquote blow it up if you are like in the hard reset like the Memphis Grizz or something like that.
>> Yeah. or not.
>> Very rare circumstance to be a team in this position to like be so all in on a player like Walker Kesler who is coming into his fifth year coming off his rookie contract very promising but hasn't put together a season where you look at him and see allstar but there is plenty of reasons to think that is still there. Strange timeline for a player. I can't remember the last time we saw a player have this important of a role for such an important team being so unproven but having so many great reasons to believe in him. very very rare mixture of all those factors I think.
>> Yeah, it's a it's kind of like KPish to the Celtics a little bit where they they make like you make that that gamble and it's like, hey, he's never like he's never available, he's never here, but obviously the the shooting is super tantalizing. His ability to be a a room protector was was very uh very high. And then once you get into into the playoffs, specifically in the finals, I mean, they made the finals even even without him there for a couple rounds, and then you get there and you see like the actual full version of it, and it's like, wow, like this is this is crazy. I that's kind of the the last time where I feel like going into a season, you had this this kind of like divide between
>> Yeah. >> between um >> you know, what a specific team thought and what the fans thought. But even then, like, so that that is that might be the best comparison in terms of championship caliber teams,
>> but they're so different >> because like teams that matter. How many times are it's like, "Yeah, we're gonna go poach this dude off of this tanking team that for all the reasons that that you said like he's he's the one that really doesn't really
>> 24 years old, too, to be our like it's kind of Aaron Gordonish, but it's as if Aaron Gordon had to be like the Jamaal Murray of that team where he's like the important guy next to him cuz you just don't see this where guys get poached after the rookie contract when they showed this much promise. Restricted free agency exists for that reason. That's the reason you don't see this. Like you used to see it happen all the time, you know, famously Shaq leaves after his rookie contract. Now restricted free agency makes it very very rare to see a player that shows anything change teams after year four. So in that regard it's more promising than people think because he's a player that probably shouldn't have changed teams but the Jazz were in a unique scenario because they traded for Jiren. They had like a slight money crunch that it made sense to, you know, sell high and get those two picks. Good gamble still. But I go back to I think it's a very good gamble for the Lakers.
>> Yeah, [ __ ] can go bad real quick though, man. Real fast. Um, I guess would you say this team got more athletic on paper?
>> Do you want me to assume they get Kaminga?
>> Assume they don't get Kaminga,
>> but do I assume they replace him with another player in that style?
>> Or whatever. Sure.
>> If they don't get him, they're probably going to trade for someone like a Derrick Jones or whatever.
>> They get somewhat athletic wing that's not Kaminga.
>> Yes.
>> Yes. I think Quinton Grimes plus insert athletic wing that's Kaminga or otherwise is a slightly more athletic team. But I do think they got they got better offensively too overall which is strange to say because they lost LeBron James.
>> Yeah.
>> But I think people are sleeping on the offensive fit of all these guys.
>> Yeah, very true.
>> So like the shooting, ball handling, and athleticism combination is better.
>> Okay. So what's the ceiling for this team? And then what's what's the best case scenario and also worst case scenario to you? Best case scenario, number one offense in the league and number
>> 15 defense because Walker Kesler actually
>> let's say like let me say best case scenario is Walker Kesler kind of is that first team all defense level defender that we know he can be and he kind of like we jokingly say can you be white Rico Bear let's say he like is a Dgo Bear he won't be one of the greatest defenders of all time that's just a high bar to set for anybody that's like asking Anthony Simons to be Steph Curry like you you can't be Rudy go bear just like that right but let's say he's like the next tier of that type of player Maybe he is a guy that can carry a top defense by himself and he's on the court
>> and >> that moves >> he won't be on the court all the time. So they won't be a top 10 defense because he can't play 48 minutes. But let's say they do defend at a top 10 level when he's playing his minutes and that makes him be the 14th best defense in the league cuz they, you know, trade for another wing defender, whatever. That's best case scenario.
>> Mhm.
>> Is that he is DPI level, they have the best offense in the league and he carries them to mid-level defense.
>> Now that that's they're probably more realistic like the 20th best defense.
>> Okay. 14th is that's wishful thinking and that's asking him to literally be DPOI. I have no reason to think that will happen. Could probably won't.
>> Worst case scenario is this is the fifth best offense. Still pretty good, not the best. And the defense is like 24th because they sign Kaminga and he brings athleticism but he still is the same old lazy offball defender he ever was. And Kaminga, I mean Kesler is a good defender, but he's not Go Bear and he can't plug all these holes and everybody's getting attacked and it's just a kind of middling seven seed. Actually, no, that's that's too harsh. Middle middling six seed.
>> Yeah, I I was going to say the same thing. I think one thing that I do miss the most when it comes to someone like Marcus Smart and their wing the wing defenders right now that they have is that they don't have any like communicators or strong communicators. Obviously, LeBron been that for his entire career, whatever. But Marcus Smart was so good at that [ __ ] and just calling out certain plays, telling players to get over screens, hedge switching and all that. And obviously like JJ Ready has so he's he's a brainiac and he does a lot of that too. But having a player on the court like that who actually like can tie their bootstraps and do [ __ ] themselves, they're going to miss that a lot. And that [ __ ] sucks.
>> Yeah. Kavon Looney. Here we go. Veteran leadership at the at the one of the backup centers.
>> Live catcher.
>> God, I think I think both catch a lot before Kavan Looney.
>> Probably if you train me for like if I have NBA training for two solid months, yeah, these West African genetics going to come down. I swear to God, I can catch a lot. You don't have the injuries he has, but you know, he's gives him I do think one thing that's being slept on is Can you dunk right now, Mo?
>> No, absolutely not.
>> Have you ever been able to dunk?
>> I dunked. Yeah, like maybe I was like 22 or something like that. It was like [ __ ] four or five years ago,
>> but it it was never like clean dunks though. It always like bounced around the rim. I never got it actually clean.
>> Okay.
>> What about you, Boss?
>> Hell no. People are speaking on how much his team is built in JJ Reagan.
>> It's talked a lot about how it's a league Luca team, which it is, which is good and gives him a high floor. I think
>> Walker Kesler and Kavon Looney, two elite offensive rebounders, a trend we're seeing. You know, JJ Re loves Joe Mula. He wants to be this analytic Missoula ball type guy. Clearly, they focus on offensive rebounds. Now, we have two centers that can offensive rebound. When the Celtics were at their best in 2024, they had a high three-point rate and played four guys that could attack a closeout. Luca, Reeves, Grimes, Kaminka potentially. Those four guys can all attack and close out, get threes up. Like it is a very analytically driven roster now.
>> And like I think they also have guys that the average fan doesn't know about. We talked about Kesler. The average fan doesn't know who the [ __ ] Mamu is.
>> Who is a Sandro guy that were given $14 million. What a terrible deal. I think he's better than Ruby Hachimura.
>> Okay. in terms of the of the vision of JJ and like he is super online. How how how quickly do you think he rolls out the all-white lineup
>> just to see it?
>> Yeah.
>> Put out there for grant sub.
>> Mhm.
>> First sub of the season.
>> First first sub. Okay.
>> Yeah. Six minutes into the first game.
>> Bet. Okay.
>> Yeah. I think it's going to be a pretty good team. I think they could be the three or four seed.
>> Yeah. I'm not as doom and gloom as everybody else is, but there's a lot of gambles to be had. So, one word to describe them, gambling.
>> We will see. Uh, rapid fire. Donovan, what is one word to describe the Sacramento Kings?
>> Stay right there. Cares. Who? Cares. All right, cool. Let's move. So, next team. AOF. That's one word. It's only that matters. What is one word to describe the Phoenix Suns? Spartans.
>> Spartans. Okay,
>> they're just getting all the Michigan State guys up in here now.
>> What? Miles Bridges and who else?
>> Miles Bridges. Uh Matt Ishb is a Michigan State guy.
>> There's a lot of dudes in their front office really who's a Michigan State I think.
>> Is their head coach a Michigan State guy, too? I think he is.
>> Jordan,
>> I believe so.
>> Oh, I didn't know that. That's funny.
>> Fact check me on that.
>> I will.
>> I don't know what to think of this team. They're like just the same team. Yeah, he is too.
>> Matt, Matt is kind of crazy. I think that the Suns are just continuing to try water. We saw what they did last year. They try to get all these good players on bargain deals and try to like be relevant in the situation they're in without their pick control. They're not going to have some like stamped young core. We know what they got to do. They got to build from the middle and try to be respectable, right? They kind of just continue that. The vision remains clear and they pursue that vision. So, I would say the one word to describe them for the next year is consistent.
>> I hope that is the absolute hope to be
>> I don't know if it'll be like consistently good, but they are consistent in their vision. They're going to trade too many picks and it won't be smart. Trading a 233 pick unprotected from Miles Bridges is not smart at all.
>> It's dumb as [ __ ]
>> I would say. Yeah, I would say it's [ __ ] blatantly stupid in some regard, but that's their vision is to try to be as respectable as possible in spite of what we might perceive as pick value. So, at least they are consistent. And I can say I don't think it's a good move, but at least it aligns with everything else you've done.
>> They just have like a bunch of meh players. Miles Bridges like is just very meh within himself. Jaylen Green, bro, he had so many injuries last I think he played only like 30 games or something like that. And and when he was on the court, he was never able to really put it together consistently. He did have moments. Jaylen Green will definitely have moments throughout his entire like every single year, but that's all you can really say about this team.
>> Yep. The other moments.
>> Yeah, respectable team.
>> What Donovan was talking about with the Michigan stuff.
>> Suns owner Matt Ishb is an alum. Suns GM Brian Gregory is a assistant coach there or was Suns head coach Jord was an assistant coach there. Sun's assistant coach Matine Cleaves was an alumni. Suns forward Miles Bridges played there.
>> He's disgusting.
>> Yeah.
>> Yo, if I ever need
>> Keep it rolling.
>> If I'm in need of a job, bro, I ain't going to lie. I'm enrolling to Michigan State.
>> Hell yeah.
>> You're going back to school.
>> Going back to school just to get by the Suns.
>> Yeah, just to have a chance for like maybe psychology or something.
>> Five years. I'm good. What is this Nathan Felder plot?
>> The plan. Get a four-year engineering degree at Michigan State to be employed as a water boy for the Phoenix Suns.
>> Hey man, that's consistent money right there.
>> Atlantic Division.
>> Is it? I don't think it is.
>> Nope, it's not at all. Actually,
>> they pay you seasonally, right?
>> Almost nothing in sports is consistent money in any way.
>> Atlantic division. Be holes. What is one word to describe the future of the Boston Celtics? Um, cooked.
>> All right.
>> I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
>> Uh, let me see. One word.
>> Nice though, like I think debatable right now if they're cooked or not to some people.
>> Yeah, definitely. Um, I know it's not one word. New era.
>> New era.
>> Is it new era? You think this the signifier of the two duo the duo breaking up is a whole new era to you?
>> Absolutely. Absolutely. I think um, you know, that that 24 team is completely dismantled. M
>> you know what I'm saying? Drew's not walking through them doors. KP's not walking through them doors. JB's not walking through them doors
>> with last year being a gap year and now being this new era. So is this like just the pivot?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. The pivot.
>> Yeah. I think I think this is the first time where Jason Tatum is clearly by far no doubt the best player on the team. So we'll see what that guy's made of. Man.
>> So you had doubts before?
>> I didn't. Everyone else did. Everyone else. You don't always believe in N everyone else did, man.
>> Okay.
>> All right.
>> It was never a discussion.
>> So, it's the pivot to a new era after a gap year. It's controversial to say the least.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah.
>> How do you feel about it? One to 10.
>> I'm not going to lie, man. I've been reading a lot of these analytics uh uh conversations lately. I'm kind of kind of kind of buying into the new vision, man. I think we are a better team than what we were last year.
>> I think you should buy into the vision. I think time will tell if Jaylen Brown's trading was a mistake, but I think you should be happy about the vision of what they're building.
>> Yeah. And also the reasoning of like literally you can't really build a championship roster with two supermax players. I think that's just this that's just the reality of the NBA nowadays. You know what I'm saying? Like it's a hard pill to swallow and obviously it was hard to move off of Jaylen Brown because of what he's meant to the team. Hell, even like the Boston community. Um but yeah, I mean it's it's it's just the reality of building like a a long championship window. So
>> fair. Donovan, what is one word to describe the New York Knicks' future?
>> Dynasty.
>> All right, man.
>> I guess I can't disagree.
>> What's wrong with this guy?
>> I mean, factually, they are in step one of being a dynasty, and they haven't failed at step two yet. So, for the time being, they are on dynasty trajectory in a literal sense.
>> What'll have to happen in order for y'all to be like a dynasty?
>> Like real real really really.
>> Life just has to go on like
>> do it again. exist. They just do it again. Bro,
>> my man had a broken wrist on his shooting hand
>> and was getting better and better every single game. I think legitimately if they do find like and we'll see what the we'll see what the team looks like in the first half of next year. We'll see what the bench looks like um again because that was the biggest um difference um in the in year one of Mike Brown versus Tibs is that obviously you have a bench and you will use it. But if your bench consists of three small guards, Mo Dawir who still has to break out and Nick Knicks fans are obviously like very excited about the possibility of it but that's not a given or anything
>> and Drummond.
>> Okay. like can like is the defense gonna be able to to hold up for 48 minutes tonight? I'm not sure. So, if there's going to have to be something that they look to at the deadline to go get another center to go uh to make another move to make sure that the defense is like solidified. That's going to be the thing that I'm watching to actually really really make sure that they are like tier one contenders throughout throughout the year and make that they you know are on track to be a dynasty. that Jaylen Brunson pay cut is gonna extend like your championship window so long. I feel like
>> not only extend it, it like created it.
>> Yeah,
>> it it did.
>> Yeah. I feel like for the next couple of years, the Meta is going to be either like a Knicks type roster where the the superstar takes a pay cut, which is unlikely, especially after what Donovan Mitchell just went through,
>> or it's the young teams that have like a bunch of contracts that are
>> very high value relative to their their performance.
>> Definitely. Yeah. Something that went y'all way that's like I feel like no one talks about enough is y'all were absurdly healthy this year too, which plays into every single like championship run that we do see. And if someone like a mod diar does pop out next year, that does help aid in your chances to I guess become a dynasty. So
>> and part of that is lucky. Also, I mean they just did they just kind of invest in healthy players like OG's had health stuff over the years. Male, Cat, and Brunson are ironmen.
>> So smart investments there. Yeah.
>> And also health. Like again, he he had a broken wrist.
>> Come on now.
>> Did he not did he not just get surgery?
>> Was it a broken wrist? I know he got surgery on it, but was it like
>> the thing was shattered?
>> Yeah, it was just fracturing.
>> All right.
>> Making still.
>> Yeah, a broken wrist.
>> Found his MVP 45 and close out game on the road to be, you know, the pres the the presumed best player in the world. Okay.
>> Mo, what is one word to describe the 76ers future?
>> Oo, one word for the goat, man.
>> They get for Jaylen. They trade for Jaylen Brown
>> extend their like actually how do I phrase this
>> give themselves like a win now window that I think didn't exist before.
>> Yeah. I think one word to describe them right now at least when it comes to their roster construction as we speak is crowded.
>> They have so many mouths to feed. You got bro you have Jim Brown Jaylen Brown now Tyrese Max he's like continuously ascending. VJ I guess it's kind of not necessarily sucks for him. I guess this relieves a lot of pressure for him to be like the next guy upcoming to be like a star shooting guard. That's the expectation for him and now his role is like a little bit um he got demoted a little bit naturally when you have someone like J come onto your team and then you drafted LeBaron Phylon which is I expect him to be a good productive player but I don't know if he's going to matter as much year one. Then you got Anthony Simons as well on a good cheap bargain contract. They just have a lot of overlapping skill sets and not necessarily a lot of connectivity there. So my word for them is definitely crowded and there's going to be a lot of like mental gymnastics from their head coach to get over some of the lapses that they do have skill-wise on
>> I think yeah another word to describe that would be unbalanced. I think
>> it's pretty topheavy roster. It's pretty scoring heavy roster. Not to say that's bad inherently because they still have the ability to round out the edges and like do a good job coaching wise to like bring out complimentary lineups, but it's the same thing I said when they made the trade for Jaylen Brown. very good business to get off Paul George and get Jaylen Brown as a move in the just a very refined sense of just looking at with just this move on paper. Great move.
>> Can't be mad at it.
>> Zooming out looking at the team construction now. I don't like it as much as some people do for the simple fact that their best defender is Dean Wade. Their second best defender I guess is Jaylen Brown. That's you don't want Jaylen Brown to be your second best defender.
>> He can be your fourth and fifth and you have a very good lineup like you'd see in the Celtics where he was one of the worst defenders in the lineup and very good in that role. him being your primary wing defender. Tough. I guess the hope would be VJ can be that over him. We'll see if he develops there. And passing wise, [ __ ] he might be your second best passer.
>> Best two-way player though, man.
>> Yeah, I guess so. No, actually the second best player is second best passer Embiid. But nevertheless, the passing and defensive talent doesn't scream I can win a championship this year to me.
>> Yeah.
>> Yo, I know D Wayne Dean Wade just signed a new contract. He got to apply for overtime. I the
>> what you mean?
>> I mean, he just got to guard everybody now. It really It really is tough for him. And like you're looking at this roster.
>> Um at least he has Sam Merrill in in Cleveland, too. He by himself now.
>> Justin Edwards. I guess the VJ Edcom needs to be Derrick White in development of that play type. He needs to be a tenacious defender that like focuses there. If he can be like
>> I don't know if I should use the word elite because maybe that's unfair,
>> but [ __ ] that. If he can be an elite defender, it could work. He could be he he's so special because he can literally be anything that he [ __ ] wants to be.
>> And if he wants to be an elite defender and not a main scorer, then it could work.
>> Yeah,
>> that's not a given. I think I think he'll be a very good defender. Like I don't I I have no doubts in his ability.
>> It's like the like like the Klay Thompson line of defense where he's like obviously like very good but but probably not like all defense level
>> at least. He at least needs to be that.
>> Yeah.
>> At least. And if he can be all defense, then I'm moved. But like that's again a high bar to ask of any young player to become that especially one that he's this isn't Dyson Daniels as a draft prospect. You know he's not known for his defense in that regard. So we we'll see. It's it's going to be a good team for sure. If it can be a great team comes down to can they find balance in the rest of season.
>> They getting past the second round.
>> They could but they also couldn't. I think that can go either way depending on the matchup.
>> Yeah. I would probably bet that they do get past the second round if they're a top I don't know two or three seed.
>> I wouldn't bet they do
>> right now. No. I wouldn't bet they do make the conference finals, but I won't be shocked if you tell me they
>> Oh, my bad. I meant to say the first round for sure if they're top two, three seed.
>> I think I'd probably bet second round exit as the most likely outcome, but I can see conference finals. They used to so there's so much parody there that I I can't write them off.
>> Yeah, they got thrown literally a [ __ ] um
>> lifeline.
>> Lifeline literally with the Jon Brown trade and this gives them way more opportunity to be more interesting in whatever regards and it's better than what they used to be.
>> Yeah. And so their overunder right now is 46 and a half wins, which they went over by they hit 47 wins, they would have been the five seat.
>> Okay. this this past year. I I I don't think that they're making the the conference finals, especially if like the the plan for them honestly has to be some weird um like because of Embiid's health has to be some crazy just off-the-wall low management of like Embiid, you're going to play the first two games of the of the first round. We're not going to play you for the rest of the series. we're going to try and get through the second round without you and then you will play in the conference finals. That's going to have to be the the path and the thinking that they have to go through in order to try and fulfill their championship aspirations.
>> Yeah,
>> cuz he he's not playing two months in a row of of playoff basketball. It's not happening.
>> Yeah. And the most realistic way for them to become a Chepshoot team, I think, would be to somehow back door him.
>> But no one's taking that contract on.
>> Yeah. It's impossible. Two years in two years.
>> Sure, but that's a long time from now.
>> A cuff and B.
>> What?
>> What? Okay.
>> Salute. All right.
>> Uh, Toronto Raptors, what's one word to talk about their future?
>> Reunited.
>> Reunited. Yeah. Kawhi Leonard comes home
>> six years later.
>> Ideally, he would have never left, but we're back now. It's better late than never. Hopefully hopefully his recent health is a sign of what's to come and you're getting him in a spot where you can feel good about him and he can give you much of what he gave you in 2019. He's not that different of a player qualitywise, but the reliability factor is very different now. But nevertheless, you've been reunited.
>> Yeah, I think now in my mind they're evolved and now they're a very interesting team in the East. They got off of the Brandon Ingram whole conundrum and they have Kawhai now. And I think even even if he can be like 75% of what he was, I think that's all Scotty Barnes needs to continue to elevate and like be a top 15 player, which I fully believe he will be next season. And then you got Colin Murray Boils, RJ Bear, who does all the random things offensively, which is valuable. He can barrel into guys and all that. And he can help like load manage Kawhi Leonard.
>> Barrel into guys. Yeah,
>> brother. I do some interesting things here and there. So,
>> I wouldn't call Brandon a conundrum. A conundrum implies there's a debate on how to handle a problem.
>> Oh, you're mean.
>> There was no debate. He wasn't good enough in that role and he needed quiet letter. They needed an upgrade. So, I would say they got out of a problem. The solution was clear and they found it, which is good for them. I'm saying I'm not saying to say Brandon Ingram like sucks or anything. I'm saying to say there was one clear >> sucks just say that >> he wasn't good on the team. I'm not going to say perform well, but like the point is there was one clear issue was that Brandon Ingram as your main shot creator was not good enough. There was no debate on what to do with that information. He was not good enough and you need to upgrade to that spot if you want to have aspirations of being the version of this team you believe you could be.
>> Kawhai is the single most perfect upgrade stylistically to play the same basketball you just played but have a guy that is good enough. You really can ask for a better solution there.
>> Yeah.
>> Like this guy if you're if you're a Raptors fan, you're on cloud [ __ ] nine. Like this is just perfect in like every way. Storylinewise, fitwise, emotionally, logically. Like it's kind of just awesome.
>> Now you just got to figure out a way to back door Yaka Portal and you're straight.
>> No, you don't got to back door him. Push him through the front door.
>> Toss him out the window.
>> Whatever, man. Get him out the paint immediately.
>> We can make this [ __ ] blatant. You can know he's out.
>> Yeah, they got to upgrade the center position or the point guard position or ideally both. If they do that, like we I I joked, not even joked, but like like fanfiction it when the trade happened. If they can find a way to get Drew Holiday, I'll be so moved by this team. I think if they get Drew Holiday, which no reason to say that will happen. I've seen zero reports. That's just my fan theory. If they got Drew Holiday to pair with those two stars, three seed.
>> Good writing though.
>> Good writing. Three seed.
>> Okay.
>> Honestly, if I was them, I would give up a pick for Drew Holiday. 100%.
>> Oh, easily.
>> Yeah.
>> Now, the question is like, will it be multiple picks cuz that Yaku contract sucks. quickly contract kind of sucks. Like it might be pretty expensive and you just give up two for the Kawaii.
>> Yeah, that won't happen because they have so many bigs already, too. So, it's like you're going to have to give them multiple picks.
>> Yeah. So, it's pretty complicated in reality because those contracts pretty undesirable,
>> but they somehow got it done. Somehow got an average center to replace Yakov. Yeah.
>> Three seed.
>> We'll see.
>> What's one word to describe the Brooklyn Nets future?
>> They just bring in Male Brown Jr. to pair with Jagor Deon, who I'm incredibly moved by right now. Have you guys been seeing Jagor Demon on Tik Tok?
>> On Tik Tok? No.
>> Why? You sent one tweet in the chat and that's that's the most I've seen of him right now.
>> He uh Jeremy Kanish. He's online a lot getting fits off or farming.
>> Yo, Brooklyn changed that man for sure.
>> Definitely did. He's online kind of a [ __ ] boy
>> but like not but like wholesome.
>> I'm sexy. That's it.
>> No, but I'll get to that. But he's like has this persona. He has this persona of like this like New York fashion guy now where it's like douchebag adjacent but it's wholesome. So it's kind of just like cool and maybe has taste.
>> He's so tough.
>> He's getting a little tough. Somebody asked him. So he he posted a fit check on Tik Tok. You can pull it up on Twitter. I sent in the group chat. Okay.
>> Someone said, "I need you to focus on rim pressure and playmaking first." He replies to that Tik Tok comment and says, "The aura comes first."
>> He's so tough. [ __ ]
>> And guess what? What? The aura came first. He has been getting his fits off. He hasn't even been up in the aura a little bit. Handsome guy. The facial hairs coming in. The fits are off.
>> Mhm.
>> First two summer league games.
>> The rim pressure is also here. He's also looking like he's taking a secondear leap.
>> So, the online persona is cool. And he kind of looks nice now in summer league. The fit between him and Male Brown Jr. looks kind of dope. He's this big guard that can drive and create. Male male Brown Jr. is this Darius Garlandesque perimeter shooter. I'm kind of moved by this duo right now.
>> Hey, he's really addicted to this. He's posting fit checks in the rain.
>> Brother, this is what happens.
>> He's committed to this.
>> When you go from Utah to Brooklyn, New York, it's a big difference, bro. The influence is crazy.
>> He's embracing the culture. He looks very, very
>> He's fully in. He got the Henley. He got the big tote bag on the side.
>> He's tough.
>> He's all in.
>> Yeah. Okay. That literally my my one word for the Brooklyn Nets is okay. Just based off a summer league. He looks like one of those players who just doesn't belong to be there and he's just too entirely good.
>> He looks nice, bro. He looks like he put on some weight. Like he's moving like a like a talented
>> lips, facial hair. All right,
>> look at this. He's in the rain.
>> Yeah, getting this [ __ ] off.
>> That's funny.
>> And we talked about him when we did our like rookie recaps and I was going to move.
>> He took his shoe off in the rain.
>> When we did our rookie recap, everybody,
>> he's about this. I was moved by his rookie season in that I think his abilities to be a big wing that can pass a little bit and provide great shooting. I saw the vision of like a core skill set there that I I don't know if ever be like a point guard. I don't know if ever be a good driver of the ball to create, but I think a three and D guy that has that level of shooting and passing moves me a little bit. I was like cautiously optimistic. Now that he's driving like this in summer league, if that sticks and that development is there, that's just a great player. That's Gordon Hayward.
>> I am looking at it right now. He really THINK HE MARLIN, BRO.
>> He Marlin.
>> Listen, bro. He's getting his [ __ ] off.
>> Tell me he's not tough.
>> He does look tough. I'm not going to lie.
>> He has got it on.
>> He got it on. Oh, he keep dropping his phone.
>> Yeah. Yeah. His phone stay.
>> No, that's He's doing it on purpose. He's an oral farmer. He's real Gen Z in that way.
>> Yeah, but he does it on.
>> He's real Brooklyn.
>> All right, man. And listen, man. And the Nets, we've climbed the rebuild. Drafting five people in one draft class was stupid as [ __ ] If this one hits, we like Muel Brown Jr. that that that duo does something. You have two veteran forwards there to play off of them that can give them immediate help.
>> They don't have no center, but hey, man, [ __ ] it.
>> Dron Sharp is also kind of good though. He was kind of like,
>> is he still on this roster?
>> Yeah, they paid him to be the starter,
>> which like he can be better than Claxton like next year. A lot of people, including me, wanted my team to trade for Dron Sharp because he was clearly a starter hidden on the bench.
>> I can be kind of moved by this team next year. I don't know why I thought he was like he was
>> positive. Oh, just like making positive, you know, trajectory of where they're at. I'm not not saying they're going to do anything crazy, but like I can they have a vision and they can be a decent team that like has some young pieces that are coming together.
>> I because of MPJ and Julius Randle just being like competency and being like just straight up good basketball players.
>> Forgot he was there.
>> Yeah. Like I can envision this team this this team winning like 35 games next year.
>> Yeah, they can be the nine seed or something. I mean not that's too much. They can be the 11 seed is what I meant to say. I meant to say one below the play. They can be the 11 seed and like be the sneaky team that's competitive. Won't make the play in, but they'll be like trying. I think Julie Fran's kind getting a little underrated in all this because he had that downside. People act like he's legit garbage.
>> That could be an 11 seed that you know you're where you want to be. You're not in the relegation zone. They can be a cute story. We can't forget Jordan Fernandez is one of the best exes and no coaches in the league. He's just had to tank in the past. Like this can be a respectable team.
>> Boy, the standard is in the gutter.
>> God damn. Well, I mean the the Nets they got to stay from somewhere.
>> This could be a a really good 11 seed.
>> The [ __ ] is that?
>> Yeah,
>> that's good for them.
>> I do I do see it though. The Bucks 11 seed this past year, 32 wins. They can easily be that.
>> Yeah, they can get 37 wins next year.
>> Yeah. And that's good. Like
>> I didn't say 40.
>> 37 is still a lot.
>> I think I think we can't forget what Michael Poor Jr. was doing in the beginning of the season with them. Like MPJ and Randall is a high floor duo. if this Deon leap is coming, which I think he is good. Like I think they can win 37 games.
>> What's your run right now?
>> Probably like 32 or 31 and a half.
>> Uh let me find it.
>> And keep in mind, I'm saying 37 is a ceiling here. I'm not exactly predicting it's going to happen, but they could.
>> So they don't they don't have a a win total for them.
>> Yeah. Not not for them specifically yet,
>> but man, like you forget the conversations that they were in. They were completely irrelevant. They were rolling lines with like Noah Clowny, you know, Keon Johnson was an interesting player for them back then. A lot of people don't even remember what that dude looks like. So, it's like they finally have some relevancy. And Muel Brown Jr. is mad interesting. And he does something that's so different from all these guys. He has a certain level of athleticism, creation, and passing that none of these guys necessarily have all into one. And he's like honestly the biggest X factor. Him and Jerger are Joan of course, but biggest factors. Yeah,
>> I've been saying it wrong. Joman.
>> I say it wrong all the time.
>> It is Joeman, though. That's the right way to say it. I realized that yesterday.
>> Oh, they got Mo Wagner, too. This is going to be a solid team.
>> Vagner.
>> Vagner.
>> If you're If you're going to respect Joe, respect Vagner.
>> They got Jefferson as well. This is going to be a solid team. Terrence, man. Solid team. Why not? I keep on reading. I'm like, yo, this is more quality than I thought. Okay, I like this team. Hey, we put $10 on the Nets to win the East.
>> How much to win?
>> 4K.
>> So, I put $100.
>> I make400,000 or $40,000$4,000.
>> $40,000.
>> Hey, man.
>> Yo, we got to get this going for real.
>> No, we don't.
>> Why not?
>> We're donating a [ __ ] $100 to bat.
>> That's upside. That's all I heard. The Nets are due.
>> Listen, we go out to eat. Our our bill is easily $100 minimum. Let's just eat at the crib one night.
>> I'll build grilled cheeses for us instead of wings.
>> Listen, I got
>> I can make all food in the name of making $40,000 at the
>> I got a panini press. I'll get us bologn sandwiches, right, bro?
>> All of this is happening because of Jorman's aura.
>> If it's like that, if it's really like that, let's see how far we can push the boundaries. If it's going to be a fashion week, let's put some money where my mouth is.
>> It's going to be a M gallon next year. Watch.
>> That's what I'm saying.
>> If it's going to be a chrome model, let's put some money on it.
>> Exactly. We get to the offseason and like we just yap and talk so much. Let's actually stand on something.
>> Let's be about that action for >> once in our lives.
>> Listen, I'll do it. You know what I mean?
>> So, I have a little bit of net stock. I will I will figuratively buy a little bit of Net Stock that I'm I'm I'm approaching this offseason for the Brooklyn Nets with optimism, which if you're a Nets fan watching the show, you probably aren't because you would have stopped watching because we never seen anything nice. If you're one of the few that have stuck around, finally got a little bit of nice things to say.
>> This is the first time we've literally ever talked to him since the existence of this show. But this is the most exciting thing it's been since like 2021, y'all.
>> Mind you, the first week of the season come and Joe Man is still not driving. It was all just summer league [ __ ] We can be like, "Never mind. It was cool for the summer. His pits were tough."
>> But I I do think he's probably going to be good.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh, next division. Let's fly through one. Let's go to the Southwest. What is one word to describe the Dallas Maverick summer? I mean, future.
>> Oh, their future is so weird.
>> They got a new coach in Dusty May.
>> They got a new GM. Messiah's there now.
>> Yeah, Morz Johnson Jr.'s there, too, and he's gonna be a good player. They got oil apparently according to
>> oil.
>> Yeah, they got golf. Don't forget the golf.
>> And golf.
>> Uh, I'm gonna say I'm gonna say redo.
>> Redo.
>> Yeah, they And this is really what this entire Cooper flag era feels like. But the moment you trade away Luca cuz you're like we defense wins championships and we can win right now. We don't need him. And then Cooper Flag falls in in your lap. You get an entire new lease on life. And for them to last year, you you fired Jason Kid, you fired Nico Harrison. Basically, everybody who was involved with that specific decision is gone now. And you actually building out a team around Cooper Flag. The mistakes that they made the first time with Luca where you saw that this guy was advancing and growing into a great player at such a fast rate and you're just throwing stuff at the wall trying to make stuff stick, trying to build a contender around him. you did it wrong the first time. In the same in like a decade, you have another opportunity where you have a quote unquote generational prospect that is going to lead your team. You have another chance to to do it. And that's what I think that their future is right now. It's a it's a redo to try and make up for the sins of the early Luca era.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah. It just doesn't feel like super duper inspiring at least going into this next season because I thought I assumed they're going to get get off of Kyrie and be one of the prime like prime teams to potentially trade up in the NBA draft and they didn't do that. They took Morz Johnson which was like a wild swing and it's one of the few years where they do have their own draft pick. So I was like, damn, that's tough. But who knows? Maybe I think they do have their own draft pick over here in 2028. So that's
>> interesting. That could do that could be productive.
>> Awesome.
>> But this feels like a very much like a filler year. And this is just like a Cooper flag save us type of year.
>> Two years from now, it'll be dope when they have their pick again. Like Cooper Flag is in his prime.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Swap next year, right?
>> Um next year 2020. Is it Charlotte hold a swap over them in 2027?
>> Yeah. So it says Dallas is 2027 first round pick to Charlotte protected between 1 through two. If this picks falls within the protected range
>> and not conveyed then Dallas will instead
>> so Charlotte just has their pick.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Wow.
>> That was one of the swap years. I think 2029 might be a swap year then for the
With the Hornets for the PG of Washington trade. It's too much language. So the Hornets hold the right to, I mean, the Rockets have the right to swap in 2029. Okay. So they got the swap. You know, these swaps move around a lot of hands. And the Spurs have the right to swap in 2030. Damn, man.
Yeah, I know. That's why I'm like, I kind of wish he got like a Kingston Flemings or something like that. That's just ball handler bias though. Maybe maybe Johnson is good. Maybe it is better to take the maybe in their eyes guaranteed hit of a defender rather than like a ball handler prospect just because he's a ball handler. And Kyrie is good. I think I assume we'll be good enough for the next few years. So, I keep them afloat. So, that's that's okay, I guess.
Okay. One word to describe the Houston Rockets future. They keep Kevin Durant. They bring in Marcus Smart. Red Bet comes back. Steven Adams comes back. Hopefully, we see a slightly better vision of what the team was supposed to be last year before the injuries. Marcus Smart is replacing Dorian Finny Smith, who was a veteran addition defensively. It didn't work out. Now, you have a guard version of Dorian Finny Smith in a lot of ways.
With more moxy. Moxy. Dorian Finny Smith is so bad last year. Yeah, he's absolutely cooked. Thank God Rob Linka didn't pay him. I know. That's one of the smartest moves he made over the last like three years, bro.
We ignore the smart moves, though. We only criticize him. Okay, one word for the Rockets. Are they not common? Do or die, really. Their future is in a very like prove it sense right now. You get Kevin Durant, you accelerate the timeline. The year didn't go well. You could say part of it is because of Kevin Durant, because of the locker room issues. That wasn't what made them fail in the playoffs. He got hurt because he was old and the young guys weren't ready.
And that just is what it is. We talked like, did they accelerate too fast? All this stuff like that. And like I get it because it didn't work. They, it didn't work because the young guys weren't ready. They have to be ready now, 'cause Kevin Durant's not getting any younger. Rev Adams, damn sure aren't getting any younger. You kind of do have to be the contender you're supposed to be right now with like very little margin for error.
Yeah. I think one word for me, you're right. Do or die. It's more concisely like there, it's a deadline. I think if this team is somehow ends up being like a fifth or sixth seed by the trade deadline, I wouldn't say that's a disappointment at all. But you get KD so he can be one of the more dominant teams of the Western Conference. And being a fifth seed, you're not a dominant team in the Western Conference at all. And at that point in time, I'm going to be, I'm going to continue to say what I've been saying over the last three months. Trade that man KD. Get off him and like truly be in this new era. You have so many picks regardless. You have picks tied up between Milwaukee. I just listed the Dallas Mavericks and all that too. You have picks everywhere between the also the Brooklyn Nets too, too, if I remember correctly. You have picks everywhere.
And and that's why honestly, I wouldn't trade KD 'cause they don't have their own pick in '27. And so I would just like, depending on what you get for KD, it's it's there. But you have Phoenix's unprotected pick. You have unprotected Phoenix first round pick next year and then you have a swap with Brooklyn next year as well. The way that the new lottery rules are set up, both of those teams, if they're not the three worst teams in in the league, we're buying stock in the in in the Nets and the Suns are staying consistent. Both of those teams are going to be 11, 10 right in their in their conference. They they're going to have a very, very good chance at getting a top top pick in 2017.
Yo, now is a bad time to say this because of how they went out. You should buy Rocket stock. That's a great place to be pick-wise. Great place to be. They'll be better this year just as long as Adams and Van Vleet don't get hurt. What if they don't look the same? More so like Fred Van Vleet, 'cause he is a whole guard. He doesn't really got to do a whole lot. He's kind of just got to be regular.
I think so. When you say doesn't look great, that's probably means like can't blow by anybody and create paint touches. It's like what you see. I mean, he's never really done that, but what if he's just like unplayable defensively, too? I find that hard to believe that would be the case with his play style and athletic composition, but you never know. Maybe ACL [ __ ] him. Then. That sucks, right? Then then that just is what it is. That would just suck and that would that would nuke them and their ability to be what we want them to be. But they could also trade that salary and bring in other point guards if that is the case.
Yeah. I He's just never he since he's gotten to to Houston, he's just been so overtaxed that now now that KD is there and Shangun is, you know, another year older. Amen. We're trying to push him forward to see if you can take even more offensive leaps. I don't think. Oh, expiry this. You're not. Yeah. You're not gonna ask Fred to to come in and be like, "Hey, can you can you play really really good defense and then can you also try and score 15 to 18 points a game?" Yeah. Who cares? He's expiring $25 million contract. We can trade him so easy and get another point guard. Yeah, they're they're good. Uh, buy by buy Houston Rocket stock. Everything is is shaping up quite well for them. If you think Amen and Shenun are good and will be this what they need in the coming years, buy Houston Rocket stock right now.
Okay. So honestly, their future, one word, promising. I just want to get rid of KD just to like even be more like asset grade. I just don't want him here. You got to have good players at some point. And if he's not a locker room malfeasant, if they don't hate him, there's no reason to get rid of him. I think they hate him. They clearly don't. Otherwise, he would be traded right now.
Memphis Grizzlies is one word to describe them besides girth, which is all we talked about. It's all you talked about, not. Stop throwing me under the bus. Don't Don't act like you haven't had the conversation off camera. I talk off camera every day and you pretend you don't say things that you say to me in private. I do not. That's also true. That's also true.
One word to describe the Grizzlies in this new era building around Boozer Ed. You get Quinn Post, you get Isaiah Stewart, lots of big men. No girth. Besides girth, the girth is a given. Tonnage. Tarnage. Fair. It is strength though. This is a strong team. Like they have an identity of being huge and being physical. And it's promising, you know, which honestly that that that's kind of the word is identity of like of like you you know really historically what this team has has often try to lean into. But now trading away Jiren Jackson Jr. as like as your big man and then trading away John Morant and bringing in all the players that you've brought in this year, it really is like we are going to just be big. Those guys are two of the least physical stars in their position.
Exactly. Yeah. So, so yeah, I I think identity and the fact that you you brought in you brought in your your coach last year because you wanted to try a new style of play. J wasn't really on that. This is this is the first time in in his head coaching career that he's going to have a team that ideally is going to be bought into everything that they're that they're doing. Yeah. And can Good for them, man. Yeah. And can potentially, you know, execute the vision. That's how you rebuild. You form an identity right away. And it's kind of rare to see a team like pick as highly as they did and immediately like know what they're going to be doing and have a plan. Usually teams look into the number one overall pick and they're like, "What happens next? We don't know, but we're banking on this guy."
Yep. Boozer guys, he he has some help around him. It helps when a guy like Edy that has so much promise gets hurt really early on. So you have that ability to be a bad team, but you know he's coming back hopefully. We'll see what he's a big man. The body is never a given. That you have enough talent in place that Yeah, you're right. It's not the spot a normal number three team would be in. Yeah, which is fun that that's a given for all top three teams this year. All the teams at the top were kind of like very close to being confident. Yeah, that's true. Interesting year for that. They're they're really big. They're guards. Ty Jerome is 6'5. Cedric Coward is 6'5. They're not going to be this lineup though. This is just like even even just like at all times they're they're going to be one like their shortest guy is going to be slightly under 6'5, but they can always employ four players who are really really tall, really really big. This is This is good work by them. And a lot of them can shoot. They got DL too. They did get DL yesterday. Hell yeah. They got more ball handling. Shout out to DL.
What is one word to describe the future of the New Orleans Pelicans? How? New Orleans Pelicans. One word to describe their future. Diarrhea. Just when you think this [ __ ] just stops, it just keeps on going and going and going. You got more to just like release and unload. Like they didn't even do anything. And it's just like the situation just gets shittier and shittier. Like the most breaking news that's happened for them is like, "Oh [ __ ] you signed DeAndre Jordan." And then it's Zon Williams's 26th birthday. That's it. That's the only thing of brothers, bro. Fair enough. Diarrhea for the New Orleans Pelicans.
San Antonio Spurs. One word to describe their future. Opposite of diarrhea. High fiber diet. Regular film. Literally film. That's it. So just cinema. Uh, I mean, what the [ __ ] do you say besides like. Yeah. Impending champions potentially. One of the greatest players of all time potentially like doing great. They're they're literally due. Rainbows, everything's just beautiful outside. Dylan Harper has to start next year. That's one thing that I do know for sure. Like I don't think there's I think maybe he starts off the year coming off the bench for maybe the first 10 15 games or so and the whole entire world including like this coaching staff realizes holy [ __ ] this guy's a star and if you start him right now, he could be very much in for the All-Star game. I think he's going to be that.
Whenever I was uh the last H trip, that one with Lar Ball, we uh ranked the top point guards in the league going into next year. I'll just give a spoiler for the video. Oops. I said that Dylan Harper is going to be the 12th best point guard next year. M in the league. Is that Glaze? Who was that? 11 and 10. Do you remember? I think Trey Young was 11. Fox was like 16. Glaze. I made sure to put my foot down. We got to put Fox over Harper over Fox. See, I said Harper is going to be like 10. 10 point guards don't make an All-Star team. So, it's not guaranteeing he's an All-Star, but like right behind that tier of like Trey Young, Jamal Murray, whatever. Like he's going to be in that mix next year. Right behind them. Or in that. In that mix. What? Whatever. Is that crazy to expect him to be in year two? Nah, I don't think so. I mean, obviously we all know like there's we do glaze him and sometimes people can't talk about him like he's overrated or whatever, but he's [ __ ] 19. He does have holes in his game, but assuming like he does he does progress and he does get better. Even at like jump shooting metrics and numbers, he did get better as time went as time went on. I expect him to be around that range, top 13, 14 as guard league point guard. Yeah, I've been doing I've been, you know, because we have ranking season coming up and starting to think about th those things. I think Harper is is right there for me as well. Already right now because I'm talking projecting, but like right now you think he's already there. When we do our our point guard rankings, like I think I am projecting towards like next year or based off of. Well, right now we don't project on our NBA rankings. But somebody always does and apparently it's you. So be iter like I might I might do it. Okay. Even now, I don't know. But yeah, it's going to be a combo pretty soon.
Division Denver Nuggets one word to describe their future. Boxed. They ain't got no moves, man. What can they Expensive? That's their That's their future right now is we have. I think they're going to pay like $200 million in luxury tax as of today. Or 170 something like that. Something close to 200 million assuming they pay Peyton Watson. A rich owner. Yeah. And people were like. They're in the second tax apron. What? Are they in the second taxpayer? Oh, yeah. Damn. And that's why I presume they're going to dump Cam Johnson or Christian Brown, but there's reports that they're not going to. They're just going to pay Payton Watson and eat it. Respect. Respect. Money. Fans will see that and be like, "Yeah, you're a billionaire. That's what you should pay." And like that is true. Like I don't give a [ __ ]. That's a lot of money to pay. Like for any owner, for any sports organization, $170 million of tax that. You got you. That's a lot to pay. I mean, he'll be all right. I don't give a [ __ ] about his pockets, but like in just. I just I can't imagine any team is doing that. Yeah, it's a lot to pay. But when you have one of the greatest players of all time and you, if we walked out of if we walked into next season, let's say midpoint of the way, midpoint of the year, and they were like the number one seed, that would be like slightly surprising. But Jamal Ray Jokic at the end of the day. I would assume when you pay that type of money, your team just does not profit for the year. Like you're just not a profitable business as an organization. Like the Denver Nuggets will lose cranky money this year. I think if you pay that type of tax, like there's no way the Denver Nuggets clear $100 million in profit every year. I don't know, man. I don't know what the merch is looking like in Serbia right now. They they could just be going crazy. I think teams make less money than you think. I think like the value of them is obviously like valuation, like like same as like property. So, you're asking an owner to lose like maybe a hundred million dollars on a team this year. They say they're going to do it. I'm saying all this to say, I'm not saying this to say like, "Oh, poor Kroni. I don't give a fuck." I don't believe him that they're going to stay in the second apron like this. I cannot fathom that. Like, surely they're going to dump one of these big contracts, right? Like. It would only. Yeah. Yeah. What if you don't? What if what if you don't? Like. This salute. Cool owner, I guess. Yeah. Like you you look at at last year and you say Jokic got hurt in the middle of the season. It it turned everything around. We faced our our bullies in in Minnesota. We're It's not going to happen again. Like we're we're going to be better. This is year two of Adam being the full-time full-time coach. You know why? I doubt that. All this comes down to ownership, right? This is Kronkey's like third or fourth most profitable team. Do you think Kroni cares that much about like the emotional side of like wanting this team to win when he owns these teams that are much bigger and more profitable to him? Or is this just like one of the businesses and he's like, I'm not f to get hosed $100 million on a team that I care very little about. They sell the Rams, too. Yes. [ __ ] and a MLS MLS. A Premier League team and a hockey team. Damn. Yo, boy loaded. I mean, they won the title three years ago, though. I I do think that if we're gonna we're gonna psychoanalyze Kroni based on his portfolio, he clearly is a competitive guy and likes to and likes to be involved in professional sports and I do think that winning pro probably is important to him. So, a team that won a title three years ago and you can view as still being in their title window, I do think that he might look at them and say, "Okay, we're going to maximize them here and this is how we're going to move forward." Also looking at how the Rams operate, they are in a in a space where they're like, we don't really care about the future. We're gonna maximize right now. So I do think that the um. They don't have that type of luxury tax. That was a different that's not an ownership thing. That's a GM thing. Even. But still putting you putting yourself out there and allowing and allowing your front office to operate in that way could be a sign that they they're always just down to to go for it in any given year. And when you have a player like like Jokic, it's it's okay. Okay. I hope you're right. We'll see. But luxury tax does define their future.
Minnesota Bulls, one word to describe their future. Honestly, I have I don't have one word. I have three. Make or break. Like this melo ball [ __ ] has to [ __ ] work. It's a swing for the fences and gambling on the mellow ball typically hasn't been a good idea throughout the history of his history of his career so far. But he's the exact type of player on the court that someone like Anthony Edwards needs alongside him. And yo, like this roster can be stale offensively and that's proven to be the case time and time again with how defenses just completely shift towards Ant and they throw off so much [ __ ]. So, it's definitely like a make or break thing. If this like flops and let's say LaMelo ends up missing like 40 games or 30 games or something crazy like that, which he's fully capable of, then we can get into very like scary conversations with the Timberwolves and it'll be bad news for them. They'll be down, but us Atlanta fans, we'll be up and we'll be waiting. We'll be ready the second you cross the trade. And that's why I'm saying treacherous. Uh, because if it goes if it goes bad, then you are in a very, very bad spot. If it goes well, then we're just going to look at those two and be like, "Oh, yeah. Those those two guys are churches together and and they're they're out here just, you know, running the the league and running the the West." Yeah, it's. Yeah, this is this stays for me. It's kind of crazy. They don't have like They don't have a true four on this team. Who is Enrique Freeman? Don't worry about that. Enrique Freeman. Is that a That must be a rookie that drafted. Must be like a second round pick. I have no idea, bro. They got Terence Shannon Jr. twice on their bench. Oh, he's a GB player. They have I'm guessing he's on a two-way. Yeah, he played four games last year. Okay. He must be on a two-way contract. Yeah, this team's depth isn't what it used to be at all. [ __ ] man. It's pretty rare I see a guy that's second on a depth chart and I don't know who they are. They got TSJ twice. I just can't believe it. He's actually on three times in all three positions. Oh [ __ ]. He's a third power forward, too. Yeah. Shout out Rocco. They're also going to need Isaiah Evans, who was like a top prospect coming out of high school, had a very like whatever year in college to be so so wildly productive day one. They got Roco and Enrique. You just see names that you like. Just names. Yeah, they're in a weird spot. Shout out Enrique. I hope he's good. Yeah, just found out about him today. I bet he's I bet he's a demon.
OKC Thunder. Health. Demon. That's the main thing. Be regular. Be healthy. How to describe their future? Uh, uh, cyclical. Riches. I think they they very clearly have a system. Yeah, a system in place that allows them to to move in a way that can save off some of the major major penalties of the second apron and you can continue to build your team around the these big three and bring in new characters and new faces and you just got the you know the role player factory is just up and running now. So I think yeah, machine, cyclical, all those things.
Utah Jazz. Uh, interesting. I think because. Good word for them. You that's pretty vague and people might be like, oh yeah, they're interesting. We don't know if it's good or bad, but it will be interesting. So I like that word choice. Yeah, 'cause I don't know. They're like, there you have a back court of Kante George who popped last year and then Darren Peterson who looks great in summer league already. Like, is that the back court of the future? I don't know. But both of those guys are are very intriguing. Then you just have this front line of Lowry, Jiren Jackson, and now now Nerki. It's a little bit less complicated now that Walker Kesler is gone, but still Ace Bailey is involved in that. You still have a lot of unknowns with. These injuries look crazy right now. Just double D's every. Why is it like that? Day to day. They're all day to day friendly right now. I don't know. In the summer league. Actually, some of those are veterans. It's just What the [ __ ]. Just double D's everywhere you look. Hell yeah. It's weird. I want to make a joke off that. But yeah, I I'll say I'll say interesting. Yeah. Intriguing. I don't even know what the I like that's the honestly the best word for it. I can't think of anything else because yo, like Ace Bailey is good. He had a good rookie year. He just got overseen, overshadowed because everyone else was just straight up better than him. But Bryson is a good player. Kyle Fleowski is like a good player, too. Isaiah Coller is productive. Cody Williams, he looks much better in summer league in the first game that I in the first game that I saw him. So, it's like they have so many moving pieces. I just don't know how it's all going to fit together day one. I think it's unique is the word I would use for this rebuild. Like two 6'11 power forward all-stars, a number two pick, several other high level pro young players. Like it's such a strange assortment of timelines. I would have been more intrigued by it in a positive way if they kept walk Kesler. 'Cause if they were going to have that like insane shot blocking duo, I was like, holy [ __ ], five seed, like this could be a great team. Now I'm like, okay, now it's just interesting because you don't have that guy and like shadow Nerkish, big difference in value to him and walker clearly. So, I'm a little bit cooled down now in my expectations of them being like a really great team, but it's certainly interesting and unique. Darren Peterson looks so nice, bro. Yeah. Yeah. See, all this maybe just doesn't matter because you just have Kobe Bryant on your team. Yeah. Yo, he's nice. They're big man away from being so different. So relevant. But see, a big man away. They have two sevenfooters. They're just like power forwards. So, it's just so weird. Like, are they going to play them together? Those guys are shooting guards. They became 6'11 guys by accident. Nevertheless, they're 6'11. Are they do some unique [ __ ] and start them as their big men and like rebound by committee? Because you do that, you're starting Ace Bailey who can also rebound. So maybe you can do some kind of weird like. Yeah. Lowry's really your center. They're going to be hard as [ __ ] to guard offensively. But like defensively, like Jiren guards the centers, but he's your center in terms of like being your main rebounder and like your three, four, and five all crash. Like maybe there's some unique thing they can do there and make it make sense. Yuck. Jiren averages like 3.5 rebounds a game, man. E. There's there's something there because they have a strange assortment of talents. Yeah.
Uh, Portland Trailblazers. Floundering. Floundering. Broke. That's just That's all we got to say. Broke. Your future is defined by the poverty of your owner. And by the lack. I shouldn't say poverty. He's not poor. That's That gives him an out. He's cheap. Mhm. He's loaded in. It's worse. It's worse. He's scared of money spreads. $3 cheese, man. Yep. Your future is defined by your owner being cheap. And, you know. Good call back. Hell yeah. Good team. Cool team. I mean, John Morant and Damian Lord. It's [ __ ] weird. I don't even know what to say about the on court abilities there. Like. What what's even happening there? We don't know. Jaw, Dame, Denny. Three ball handlers. One can shoot. I guess Denny can shoot. Let me not say that. One's like an impact shooter and Dame. You got Denny at the power forward. No. Yeah. Tumani probably like more like a power forward, but they're both small forward bodies. Shady Sharp just standing up on the bench like this. Yeah. Just ready to go. That brother got demoted, bro. Their their features defined. It's just confusing. I don't understand this team. Yeah. I honestly, if this team did walk into the season exactly just like last season, won like 42 games, I would believe it. I would not. 42 is not a big number. So, yeah, I'd believe it. I think they did that last year. So, like. Sure. That is I don't I just don't care about the idea of them winning 42 games. Yeah, they just really like my my word for them is just stagnant no matter what happens with Jaw. And they they're not stagnant. They're going to be I think they're going to be worse. I don't think they're going to be worse. Sure. Probably. I if they're not worse, I won't be surprised. If they are worse, I won't be surprised. I think certain teams are just fine being an NBA team. Exactly. Okay. Their future is an NBA team. Yeah. Existence. You talked about the You had a conversation about NBA teams not being as profitable. This motherfucker's figuring out a way to be profitable as possible. True. He's not trying to be good. He's not trying to build a community. [ __ ] that. I want dollars. He not getting his morning coffee 'cause you know. Expenses, man. Anybody going to eat into the profit margins. I think people would be shocked how unprofitable sports teams are relative to what they expect. Yeah. If you ask like your uncle what he thinks that the Nuggets make, he'd probably be like 2 billion a year or some [ __ ] like that. He just say number. Yeah. Most of the profit is literally just from the evaluation. Literally and what they do with having that stake. Yeah.
Southeast division, last division today. Mo, what is one word to describe the Hawks future? Uh, the Hawks future I will say versatile. We're young. We got a whole lot of guys who can handle the ball. Keep Fleming like he looks superb in my mind. He's everything that I wanted so far in the last in the first like couple games of summer league. Zubie looks so like versatile. I'm like I'm curious. Literally, I'm curious to see what we're going to do next season. He said a lot of curious. He said everything that I wanted in the first days of summer league. We have to stop. We have to stop. Summer league, man. What do you mean? Who gives a damn what? California Classic. We can we can respect Vegas. California Classic. We got to calm down. Same [ __ ]. We all. No, it's not. Unless it's no one's. Come on now. Yo, you really love Jagger. Okay. He's the one. That's his guy. That's his guy. I was one if any rookie list. I don't blame you. But really, I'm just hoping for more internal growth from Jaylen Johnson. Like if if not, then we're going to be like the same. I guess 44 team by the way. They're UNNBA team now. Nah, you're great. We're not the same as we're more respected than the travel. I didn't say any level of respect there. You're unmba team for now. We're an NBA team who beat the Knicks twice. No one should say that. So, okay. So, also question to that. Does that get wiped out because you lost by 50 in a game? It wipes out at least one win. So, they beat the Knicks once in spirit. No, it does not. Two wins is two wins. You cannot wipe out a whole double. Why? Yes, I can. You can. We won. We beat y'all by 25 twice in one game. Okay. 10 five times. And 10's already blow out. Multiply that by five. You basically got swept twice. If we won 50 games next year, that wouldn't surprise me. Oh, hell yeah. Surprise. Really? We won 46 games this year. My my word for that is possible. They got they got they got the six seed. You guys are right back in the playing next year. Wait, say it again. You guys were in the six seed this past year. You are right back in the playing next year. 50's tough. I don't know. If everything. Yes. Yes. The East is loaded now, bro. I know. 50. Because even if even if we're like Miami is 10, I think Miami I think Miami will be better. If if you don't if you don't want to believe that. If Indiana. Indiana got the Pistons still there. I believe it. If there's one team below you guys. Or the Wizards might be better. All right, relax. You're doing. All right, y'all are doing too much now. Philly. Philly's tough. Philly was one game below y'all. All right, maybe not. You're back in the playin. Hopefully. We do the future for the Hawks. Purgatory. Burgatory is crazy. UNNBA team. I'm telling you. We're waiting for Anthony Edwards. Sure. And now you're UNNBA team. And we're ready for anything to happen. Do you know where you go when you are waiting? You go to purgatory. When you waited. Is it lobby bad position to be in? No, it's not good or bad. It's just a place to be. Yeah. It's just a lobby. You're an NBA team. How many times must I say it? Yeah. You're just in the lobby waiting for them to call your name. Exactly. I'm ready to bounce. You're a group in eighth place. We're literally ready to pounce. That's it.
Charlotte Hornets, one word to describe their future. Brave. I think I think they made a brave decision to sell off on their star that nobody would agree should have been traded amongst fans, you know, nobody wanted to see him go. They made a brave decision to say we think we should pivot and we are going to be a more prosperous team in the future for having sold high on the meloball at this specific time. That's not an easy decision to make. So whether it works or not, I think this next year of future will be defined by brave decisions being made. I think serious. I think getting getting LaMelo and Miles Bridges out the paint in the same day really did send a message to everybody about what you want this team to look like and how to operate. And you say serious, I would describe it to not to not paint it a certain Colin Carder type of way. Like low variance. They want no variance in their outcomes. I feel like they want like consistency, you know? I appreciate you for for having having my back. I do. Yeah. 'Cause it's not like they're unserious people. Miles Bridges could [ __ ] himself. That's different. But like I think they want to have a consistent style without the ups and downs of injuries or not playing defense and only chucking shots like Miles Bridges. Like they want to have a consistent play style that is with a very clear probably Celtics like identity with Charles Lee. This guy's good, man. I don't think the Celtics would want another ball. That's That's a good friend right there. That's good right there. Sure, we give that to them. Yeah, but they what they want to be a a nor a very normal team. They want to play like very like when Spongebob got like rounded, they made him very normal and he was like, "Hi, I'm Bob." That's what they want to be. Very cool cut. That's That's really what Charles. They don't want to be Doodle Bob. No, not at all. Doodle Bob was from Lamelo. That is true. He's the most player. I was I was waiting to see who was going to say it. That's how he drives, dude. That's how he plays basketball. HE'S NEVER GETTING THE DRIVER'S LICENSE. It doesn't matter. They say he's a driver now. Oh, yeah. They say he rides in back of a sprinter now. They took away his keys. Uber blacks everywhere. He's responsible now. I go, his ass do be lying about that. We know he's going to be driving still. Is riding dirty for sure. He's lying to his dad. What else you going to do? I'm a race. Yeah.
Miami Heat. One word to describe their future with Giannis on the team. Sometimes you got to race. Uh, Miami Heat. Future now has Giannis. The future is now. Serious. Finally, we can take him all serious and like. Reloaded. Freaky. What? Tell me more. I mean, you you have you have Giannis there and I think this so like. You do have Yiannis there. So, one, you got a freak in in the door. Um, two, this entire lineup, especially now that Norm Powell is not here once again, and I asked this last week, who is taking jumpers for this team? I think that they're going to we saw the the reinvention of their offense last year. We're going to have to see something like another version of that just because this entire roster isn't set up to play like normal basketball. They're going to have they're going to have to be a little bit more creative. I don't think the shooting is that bad. But where is perimeter ball handling? I I do think that the spot there's no off the dribble shooters like that which matters. But Wiggins, Hardaway, DaVon Pel, and Bobby Portoris all space the floor from a catch and shoot perspective well enough. You're not helping off them and like those aren't like Jared Vanderbilt type of shooters. Like they you're going to respect them all. Don't have off the dribble shooters, which matters a lot in today's league. Maybe that's nullified a little bit by having Giannis who's obviously going to do a lot of that ball handling. But where is a perimeter shotmaking from? Who is going to be your Chris Middleton to like get Giannis into these sets or Drew Holidayiday to get into these sets? Like that's the thing that I really wanted Norm Powell for, which not like it's not like Norman Powell is great at that either, but he can create a shot off the dribble. And if he gives a if one of these big men set a screen, he can walk into a mid-range pullup. Who is doing that here? Do you trust in the last minute? It's going to have to be It's going to have have to be Wigs just because. What the [ __ ]. No. If anything, it'll be DaVon Mitchell. He has like a higher. It won't be Wigs. Wigs. It won't be Wigs. Wigs. The only The only reason why I'm saying it is just because it's just because Wigs is taller. That's the That's the only reason why. That's why it can't be him. That's why it can't be. I don't I don't think DaVon is gonna be the guy. You're right. It can't be him. I think the answer is gonna be honest. And he's just gonna have to do that and like be a more mature ball handler at that size, which is a lot to ask of a 6'11 player of any sort. Congratulations, Frank. It's all down to Yiannis. This is what he wanted. Um, yeah. So I don't. They're they're really lacking someone who can operate out of like the triple threat and do like a multitude of things, bro. Triple threat. That's the truth. We could talk about all the different kind of offenses that people run. We could talk about all the X's and O's. At a certain point, it does. It does get back to to the to the basics. OG was. Going jab. That's what I'm saying. OG was dominating in the finals off of triple threat stances. That's what we're talking about right now. It is. It is very important. That's the one thing Wiggins can do offensively though. All he'll do is triple threats. But he's a guy a good house. Yeah. So, he's not he's not really like tripling for real. Okay. Double threat. Yeah. He's like a double threat. Okay. Uh, one word to describe this team. Incomplete. That's how you describe their future. It's incomplete right now. You did step one, you got Giannis. The sad reality, which maybe saddest in the harsh reality is building a championship team around Giannis and Bam is a two-year endeavor. You got Giannis now. You got the elite defense now. I think your shooting's okay enough. Mhm. To get the ball handler we're talking about and the high level offense to be like a true contender is I think a next summer vision. So you're kind of in a gap year with Giannis, which you never want to be when Giannis is in his [ __ ] 30s. A gap year with Giannis is kind of unfortunate, but there's no other answer there. I think. So. Incomplete vision. You can still you can still compete with an incomplete team, but next summer is when you'll try to be complete and really have this thing come to fruition, I think. All right. So, step one, your progress has been made. Yeah.
Orlando Magic. One word to describe their future. Oh, they're they're just uh. Stuck. Stuck, but like by choice. They're uh just 10 toes down. 10 toes down. Their feet are on the ground. They're not moving. They refuse to sell. Stationary. Stationary. But like. They in a straight jacket right now, man. Oh, no. They are. But of their own design. They put that [ __ ] on that morning. They decide to wear the straight jacket. They took it out the closet and said, "I like it here." They're committed. That's what they are. Future is about commitment to this fiveman lineup. Yeah. It's like they bought this big brand new Jeep and they're like, "Yo, man, this Jeep can get through anything and they just been trying to drive through this like big piece of [ __ ] quicksand and they just can't get out." But they're going to keep trying 'cause this Jeep has four-wheel drive and I'm going to I bought the Jeep for a reason. True. This is a $120,000 Jeep. Best believe I'm going to get my I'm going to get two years of mileage in. And they're just burning all that gas, man. Y constantly. But maybe it works though 'cause that Jeep does say when you buy it that it should get you out of quicksand. It hasn't yet, but it has the capabilities to get you out of that quicksand if it works well, if it's running well that day. So, the possibility they get out the quicksand is there. So, I can't really be mad they're committed to that Jeep. I I guess so. 'Cause also like if you if you move around too much, you try to be too busy in quicksand, you will sink faster. Yeah. You got to figure it out. Yeah. Yeah. You you have to be calm. Yeah. You have to like learn just do some pattern recognition, understand the movement patterns, and like on the alternatively, if you sell the Jeep, you're going to get pennies on the dollar. You're not going to be a better team for it. You're going to feel like you shouldn't have bought that Jeep. And now you're in a hole. That's so crazy. They really didn't make any moves this offseason. 'Cause they like their Jeep. They're depreciating. And Nicole, Nicole Busovich, too. Shout out to him. I guess he's going to retire. That's it, bro. So, yeah. Uh, yeah, it's just about commitment, right? And time will tell if it works. I can definitely see it working. I can see one more year that starting five stays healthy together. The analytics that we saw, the lineup data from that five were amazing. If we can just get that and we finally get the two perimeter players in Vagner and Vancero healthy together for 50 games, they clearly can be a good team. Yeah. Would I be necessarily like putting my stock in them? I don't know. But I can see the vision. We'll see. I love the optimistic um mindset we have. I don't even know if I'm optimist. I'm just acknowledging the optimistic mindset. What you could say. What do I gain from being pessimistic in July? Facts. Sun's out. Why be sad? Just ride that Jeep. I don't know. Yeah. One of the Jeep's tires is like very overrated, but like keep it. Works, I guess. Yeah. It works. Sort of. I guess. Uh, Washington Wizards, last team today. One word to describe their future. Playoffs. Saved. Risen from mediocrity. You got AJ, you got AD, you got Trey. You're going to be a good team in some variety. Like I don't know amongst all the teams that are good making a playoff push where you'll fall there. Maybe it's on the low end of that. Maybe you'll be a.
Playing team still. Actually, you surely probably will be a playing team. Let me not say it's top six is a given, but you're not going to be ass anymore. And that's a that's a high bar cuz boy were their ass before they got Tro Young and AD.
Mhm. They really were bottom of the barrel. This is what Cooper Flags rookie season was supposed to be.
Oh, with AD and Kyrie. Yeah. Facts. Oh yeah. Yo, AJ stole his destiny. That's not true. Wow. This team is so cool, man. Yeah, but their future is defined by quick rise, I would hope. Yeah, they Trey can change Alexar's broke ass life right now, man. Like the ball handlers he's had to work with over the last what, two first two years of his career so bad.
Did you see that tweet this morning? Someone tweeted out. There was a a graph of the least efficient play finishers from pick and roll play types of the last two years. He was dead [ __ ] last. The least efficient role man over the last how many years?
I think it was two years. [ __ ] The least efficient role man in the NBA was Alex R. That checks out. And you might be like, damn, he sucks at that. Also, he's catching passes from Buck Harington and Bal Koul. So Trey might literally change his life. Yeah, man. These guys are 18-1 to win the the the division.
Really? 181 to win the division. So that's a conversation between them, Magic and Heat, since we don't care about the Hawks or Hornets in that conversation. Okay. Um,
I think the Hawks would be better. I'd probably pick and also the Heat, too. I' got to pick the Heat to win the division, I think. And I'd probably pick the Magic to finish pardon the Wizards, I think. I don't know how I'm confident I am in that. The Heat are definitely going to be the best team, I think. Yeah, that's a given. The I would I would I would think, right? And Jonian gets hurt. He get He gets hurt. He gets hurt. You have Don't get hit jump shot. Yeah, that all that all that goes down. And then what if what if Trey Young just has, you know, his moment where this is this is a time where all the things that we've been asking like, "Hey, can you scale back just, you know, a little bit and we're not and we're not playing overly overly Trey Young basketball." If you can get a little bit of that, they can the Wizards can be really, really good. Yeah. 17 and 12 type season. Yeah, maybe. Uh it's now asking them to take this leap forward is like to go from 17 games to a a actual like playin team or playoff team. That's a big jump. And like the the Pistons did it a couple years ago, but I think that they could they will be in the playin. I feel very confident about them being one of the 10 best teams in the in the conference. Definitely. What if they like end up getting rid of AD? I still I still think so. I still think they could be one of the 10 best teams in the country. I'm less confident, but yeah, they still could be. Yeah.
All right, man. That is every single team. One word to describe their future. With that being said, it is now time for producer corner. Hit that button.
Oh, wow. Ladies and gentlemen, we are here to play a game of is it Erling Holland or Sabrina Carpenter? Okay, whatever that means. You will find out very soon. I'm going to show you a picture. You're going to guess or, you know, try to extrapolate if it's a picture of Erling Holland or Sabrina Carpenter. Two people that look very much alike, apparently.
First picture. Oh [ __ ] First picture. First picture. Okay. Oh, that's Sabrina Carpenter. That's Holland. Uh, I think that's Sabrina. The dark roots. I think Holland's a more like bleach blonde. Yeah, he seems like more pure blonde. This is Earling Holland. Damn it. Damn. Mhm. Yeah. Maybe the hair was too straight. We maybe we should have known it was Holland. She has a lot of volume, too. I thought it was a young Sabrina Carpenter when she was like pre superstar jump when she looks post Disney. She was looking a little different. She has different versions. I don't know what I put on here. I thought I thought that was fresh out of Disney. It's the edit that threw me off. That's it.
All right. Next. Do a couple filters on it. Okay. This looks like it's outside. So, I'm assuming it might be Earling Holland again. But no, that that blue is very Yeah, it's very vibrant. And so I do think that this might be a shoot for for Sabrina. You see a a little bit of the curls in there even in the shot. Some product in that hair. I'm going Sabrina here. Do you think it's a uh misdirect? Cuz it looks like there it's in a bun. So he wants to think it's Sabrina. No. Um I think cuz the last time we were saying like you you noticed the hair was super straight. I think you have a little bit more you see and thicker. Yeah. Yeah. Couple curls right there. I'm going Holland. I'll go with the Sabrina Carpenter. Sabrina, I think it's still Earling Holland. Dummies. Told you the M. He plays with a with a ponytail, man. Donovan. Hell yeah. All right. Next.
Okay, that's Sabrina. I know that for a fact. That looks like some She's behind some red carpet. You see that the edge of her eyebrow? That dark eyebrow? I don't know. That's clearly Sabrina Carpenters's hair. Yeah, it should be. I'll be so shocked if it's not. Yeah, award show. I'll take my life on this being Sabrina Carpenter. It is still No, I'm kidding. All right. Next.
Holland. Holland. Look at that neck. That goddamn neck. Long ass neck. That boy got some traps on him. Yo, Holland has a long neck. If you Yeah, it is early Holland. Sabrina. Yeah, I'll say Sabrina. It looks like Look at the tan. Look at the color of the skin tone. That is That is Sabrina for sure. The skin tone tells it all. You're right. And the background looks like it's like a red carpet or something. Maybe a concert venue like at a festival. The hair does look purposely did too a little bit. Yeah, that's Sabrina for sure. I trust you Sabrina. It is Sabrina. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Next. Is it Donovan Bridges? You suck. I'm going to be stumped. All right. First picture. I think this is Donovan. That's Donovan. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. I've seen this picture. All right. Next.
That's M. That's Male. That's Male. I don't think Donov on like draft night or like not draft. I think this is like a finalist picture. Yeah. I don't think you find a picture of this low quality of Donovan. Yeah. That's male. Male. Okay. They look like picture. They look from a distance. They look you would wear too. I mean it's tough. That's all right. Oh, that's Donovan. That's Donovan. Diamond. That's me. IT'S MEL. OH [ __ ] WHAT THE [ __ ] Go back. That's right. That you thought that was you, too. Hey, man. [ __ ] That's kind of crazy. What? Now we understand why they say you're twins. It's the eyes. We always thought it was just a beard. Those are the That's your [ __ ] eye. My eye. That's your [ __ ] eye. jump scared. Imag someone listening to this and look down at her. Oh [ __ ] staring at me, bro. I can't believe that, Miguel. Wow, that's insane. I would I would have bet my life this was you. Like seriously, I would be dead.
All right, next. Is it Be Souls or Ned from Spider-Man? Okay, dead. What the [ __ ] is this? I'm going in. Yeah, I'm going. I'm going. I don't know. You have Okay, there we go. Okay, this is you. What the [ __ ] is that? Like right under right under the lip. I think what I think this is you. I'mma go Ned. What the [ __ ] am I looking at? I also Yeah, I don't know what I think this is. I don't know. I think I can't say it. But this is you. This is like an elbow. What is this? No. Uh, actually, no. I'll go you cuz Ned is a little bit darker. It's me. It's my eye. Oh, hell yeah. Fair. I had no clue what I was looking at. Yeah, my left eye. That's crazy. Yo, that's nuts. What's crazy? What do you mean? It doesn't look like an eye. It looks It gave no indications that it was an eye. No eyelash. No eyelash. No white. No pupil. Could you see? Yes. I was squinting. It looks fully close. You squinting all the way. The sun is literally in my eye. Donovan. I was squinting. But if I squint, you can still see my eye. Do it barely. I see his eyelashes though. Where's your eyelashes? Where's your eyelids? Where are the defining features of an eye? Don't worry about that. Oh man. And that's the last one. Damn, that one was crazy. That was funny.
Well, that being said, that's the end of producing quarter. We're on a Tik Tok time. That was a hit. Woo! Welcome to Tik Tok time. Today, per usual, we will begin with a draft. We're going back. We're hitting the 2v2 draft again. We did this two weeks ago. Me and Mo drafting against B Souls and Donovan. I told him we're going to do 2v2. Don requested that B Souls is once again on his team because he wants redemption for those two as a duo because last time we did this a couple weeks ago, they might have drafted the worst team in TD3 draft history. It was It was up there in a completely unforced error. By the way, they sold hilariously. Listen, man. And I tried to do a bone. I'm about to Kyle Corver. You did over Moses Malone. Just for giggles. You tried. The theme for today is we will spin the wheel. We are drafting teams with international players that played for these teams. Okay. So, whatever whatever that means you international players that are on this team. If we get the Grizzlies or whatever, it's going to be Slim Pickings or we get one of the teams with a lot of legends there. We'll see.
Okay, Me and Mo go first since we have It doesn't really matter, but we won last time. So, winners's ball. Yeah, I guess it doesn't matter for this context, but go ahead. Spin the wheel. We'll go first. Come on, Pacers. Mo, you want to go first? I think you got it. Do they do that? International players. Yeah. Uh, they don't do it a whole lot. They have a large history of whites. Yeah, that's not really their their bag, but they got one right now. Yeah, exactly. That's We'll go past Yakama power forward. M. Okay, Donovan, you got this one. You got this one big ass. You got this one, big bro. Nart's Canadian, huh? Nhard is Canadian. He is Canadian. Um, I'm trying to think about the the best players in their history. All All of them have been American. Yeah. Um, really really throughout. That's why I'm shocked. Like they they really do not be outsourcing. Indiana they don't do it all. All of it is in-house pretty much. They stay true to the state. Am I going to have to are we going to have to go Netmart and two? Certainly there's a there's an alltime player. I actually can't think of anything else. Like I'm not even like lying to you. I really don't know who else. Just current day [ __ ] Were there any international players on that team? No. No. Not in the starting lineup because Hibbert's American. Hbert's American. George Hill. George Hill PJ Miles. See? Yeah. Pix Miles, you have him even though he's American. Test Pacers. None of them. No. No. Damn. Um All right. We're going to get our our glue guy. We're going to get Nard. It's always nice to start your team with a glue guy. Okay. Yeah, we're going to put Yeah. Put Nemhard there. Two. Whatever. It doesn't matter. Them hard. All right.
Number two. Spin that wheel. Let's get the rockets. Come on. The Dallas Mavericks and we all win this. Not bad. Are we snaking it? Yeah. It's your turn. Let me guess. I don't even care who you pick. Luca. I'm surprised you didn't want Dirk. I'll take Dirk Nitzky. Oh, it's your turn. Yeah, I'm taking Dirk regardless. It doesn't matter. Could have spoke for me. Yeah. Yeah. Who cares now? Luka Nhard. Seakum Dirk. Okay. Stolen. Surprise. I had the big You went the guard. You went with the other guard. Like I'm surprised you didn't want to pair him with Durk. Yeah. Surprised. I think if our It doesn't matter. You You can't lose regardless. It's fine either way. Yeah. I probably would have picked Derrick Fos. Nah, don't worry about that. Don't worry about that. I'm not worried about it. It's good either way. Next team, Sacramento Kings. Okay. They had Pasa. Yeah, I could go there. Get a shooter. Get a glue guy. Do they have anybody better? It's a boner. It's a boner. Oscar Robertson's American, right? Yeah. Uh, that Chris Weber is American. Boogie's American. Wow. They don't have a lot of great players. No, it's the Kings. I guess we'll go PA at the three. Okay, we got a shooter. We have spacing right now. Holy [ __ ] We We better get some defenders, though, cuz we got Derk holding down. I know. It's getting real spooky. But we might have the greatest offense of all time. We'll see. We'll see. Ooh. Can I offer you a Kellian Ace? Can I offer you a Scallabier? You can. You can keep going. Buddy healed. Bohemian. Yeah, counts. No, we can't. We can't take Buddy He actually don't know who you should pick. Bro, we're getting I think Willie Collie Stein's Canadian. Is that right, bro? We're getting nuked, man. Did I make that up? Is Willie call Stein Canadian? Can I fact check it? If if we all have like a general name. You want to fact check Willie? I'll fact check for you. What about um I'll factor for you. Big dude. My boy Maxine right now. Come on now. I might take Sabonis American. No, he's from Lithuania. Sabonis did grow up in America, but he's Lithuanian. I think he was born in Portland and grew up in Lithuania and back and forth. His dad played. It had to be Oh, no. Will they call Stein is from Kansas? Kansas. Were you gonna pick him? No. You want to know. You're crazy. I I just wanted to know my options. This might be a Sabonis pick. Okay. Um Peak Sabonis wasn't bad, man. We got a I mean, it's not the best, but Luca Sabonis. Scary. That's disgusting. You have your defense stands no chance. We do have Derk at the five. You got Derk at the five. Let's calm down. Let's calm down. But you got Luca and Sabonis trying to hold it down. We got Seakum to help him. That that means something. We'll see who your Seakum is. All right, here we go. All right, your turn. Please. The Celtics. Boston Celtics. A lot of Americans here, too. Yeah. Do we have to go Tingis Pingis at the five? Oh, brother. And a Celtics version, too. Well, not too much. Not too much. No, he had a good moment, but like it's not the most reliable. When he was healthy, he was good, though. For sure. For sure. For sure. Who else is there? Who else? Lucas Sabonis and KP. That's Luca's worst nightmare. We're building the Snowtime uh Celtics. That's his worst nightmare. Um KP. I hope you're thinking. I don't know who I'm thinking right now. I'm running through a list of guards. They also historically they don't do that when it comes to guards. Boston definitely doesn't do that thing. Yeah. 80s. Oh, 90s cuz like they open it up to black people in like the 80s and then it took him a while then they opened it up to the rest of the world later on. I don't know. It might have to be KP. It might. I don't I don't think that's the worst pick though. I don't think that's a bad pick. Okay, so Porzingis, is that your center? Yeah, Okay, Porzingis and Sabonis. No foot speed, but you got some size, I guess. Yeah, So, Sabonis at the five, KP at the four. Whatever. Damn. All right. Yo, we're actually [ __ ] I ran through the errors in my head just now. There there's one there's one player that that you can pick, but like it it does not make sense for for your team. I think in terms of eligible players, there's only one that's coming to mind right now. And who is that? Um, your boy Big Al. Yeah, but does he count? Is he American? Like, no, he's Dominican. He plays for their national. Okay. Okay. So, he Yeah, battle. Like, I could put Al Yugo Gonzalez. Hey, Big Hugo. Apparently, he's the next future star. Don't give up for Yeah, Put him at the two, I guess, for a team who's like to kind of nerd out a little bit. He plays defense and he's aggressive, but it's like Yeah, you actually could do worse. Yeah. Yeah. Like there's no one in the 2020s not. Avery Bradley's not. I even think of like the 2020 teams. No. Like Kyrie and Hayward. I mean, yeah. K. Does Kyrie count? What do we do with that? Cuz there's always the Australian vers American. He played for team USA. But he could have played for either one, right? I think he has I think so if Kyrie has Australian citizenship, do we get him? Come on, bro. I'm asking a question. I mean, you can be selfish if you want, but ask me this. Does if Kyrie has Australian citizenship, does he count? I don't know. No, Kyrie Irving does not count as an international. I think I think we'll be cheating with that one. To be honest with you, that's not fair. Where's the line? That's like saying Kobe's from Italy. He's never like actually Yeah, Yeah, I think that that's kind of But if you could have picked either one and he just picked the other one, that doesn't mean his Australian trace disappeared. Like his his card is still there. He does have dual citizenship, by the way. He was He's allowed to play for team Australia if he so chooses. I don't think we've ever thought about Kyrie as as an international I think the same thing applies to Alford though. So I'm just wondering where where the line is. I I think that's completely different for Alford because he has played for their national team and like he but Kyrie could also play for national team. You know what I mean? They both have the same type of citizenship. But Kyrie could he never did. That's doesn't make him less Australian of a man. He doesn't have one picture of him in Australia. So was born in America. He's still but he played for Lithuania again, Just cuz he chose a team doesn't make him less Australian of a man. But I don't care. We don't have We don't have to lie. Just Just open real FIFA discourse right here. They ain't got to do that. The Brits are going to be mad at us. The Brits are going to be pissed at us. I know. Damn. Yo, do I hope it wouldn't be bad in terms of just like straight up talent. But having Seakum run the three. Oh, brother. Let's get a pick off. Honestly, yeah. I'd rather have I'd rather have Al Horford than Yuko Gonzalez, honestly. You want Hugo? Make your pick. It's your pick. Yeah. Like I I feel better about Al than Hugo right now. All right, we have the biggest team of all time. What are you putting out? Put Hugo at the four. Shift everyone up. [ __ ] it. No, I mean Al at the four. Yeah, Al at the four. Shift everyone up. Hugo at the four. I'm not having Hugh on my team. That's that's that's too funny. All right, we have small forest Yakum shooting Garpia. The biggest team of all time. Mhm. Let's see what we got. Space. I like how this is because suddenly suddenly our Sabonis pick makes a little bit more sense. We need a point guard where I can dribble bad. Spin this wheel. Yeah, I need a ball handler. Like an elite ball handler. Steve Nash Cavaliers. Once again, I'm asking does Kyrie count. No, you know, man, you better go. The pre has already been set, man. We We can leave Kyrie out, but we there's a weird precedent there with some other people we picked over time, but whatever. Fair. Uh what are the point guards they have over time? You know who? I don't. Delhi. Deli. [ __ ] Harden's not. Uh, they had Ricky Ruby at one point, right? No, I made it up. No, they did have Ricky Ruby with Don Mitchell. Yeah, originally. Yeah. Okay. Oh, yeah. Rick Ruby played with Garland. Mhm. And Garland played off wall. Remember he told us about that when we interviewed him? Yes. Uh, we could go Ricky Rubio. It's not the worst pick in the world. Good defender. It's not the best. It's not the best, but it's not bad at The problem is there's probably some guys that I just think are black but are like Bohemian or something like that that like count. I'm trying to think like where's Bo Williams from. I think he is honestly I think he is. No, I love you do things. No, he's the blackest American ever. What are you talking about? The blackest American ever. I don't know if he's that. I don't know why, bro. His name is Mo Williams, bro. He's from Mississippi. His name is Mo. He's from Mississippi, bro. Mo Williams. I don't know why I thought in your head and you're like, "Yeah, why not?" Oh god. Do I got to go Ricky? He lowkey. If I go Ricky, I mean, we do play through Durk as a main score and we have spacing, so we could be. We're not horrible. I would like someone better. Yeah. No, Darren Williams is American. He's not Canadian randomly. Would you want Cavs? D will Mo Williams? I guess not. D will. Where's he from? America, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, Illinois, I think. Yes, correct. Uh, Dare Grom, Illinois. Mark Price is American, right? It's just It's American as [ __ ] Mars or Wonderbread? Yeah, Wonder. Oh, I mean I guess there's one guy. Which one would be bad at all? As one guy. He's a big man creator. Oh, this is tough. Dwayne Wade's a I got a name for you. I don't know if it's like inspiring, but you do keep a job. Dennis Rder. Yeah, he keeps the job. We're going Ricky Rubio. We're getting a playmaker to put it all together. We got plenty of scoring. We need a guy to to keep everybody in line. Ricky Rubio point guard. All right, so we have Luca at the one, Nhard at the two. Need a three or two. We can we can shove Luca to the three. Yeah, it's pretty much a three defensively. All right. Um, so that means you could pick. Yeah, it won't be bad. Nah, I'm thinking could pick Anthony Bennett. Canadian. I was thinking more uh SI Teddy Osman. Yeah, sure. Take him. Could take him. Take him. Teddy Osman. What a guy. Tristan Thompson's available for you. Rebounding would be crazy between the two. Go real big and go big Z. Yeah. Where's he from? Trivia. Don't worry about that. [ __ ] Take a guess. Croatia, I think. Maybe. No, not that's not a bad guess. Oh, he's Lithuanian. Yeah. Yeah. Um, damn. Lithuania got some guys. You know what? You got to go big on big Z. Welcome to the team. Put KP at the three. Yeah. What? And then we'll put Big Z at the I'd like to be said. This is the second draft in the past month that Dominus put KP at the three. He did this in a keeper sabotage to sabotage somebody else. He put KP at his three. What's your fascination with that man? I mean, there's something there. If Lowry can do it, he can do it. Lowry played for the Cavs. Oh. Yo, I did IT THIS TIME. YO, HE SAID I'M FREE. You still lost, buddy. Oh, I just thought Damn. Lowi did play before he broke out. [ __ ] Yeah, we couldn't have had him, but they could have had him. Yeah, y'all could have had him. [ __ ] point guard. Larry asked for my one. Bring the ball up. No. Tell Pacy to go hoop. We got negative two point of attack defenders. Damn. Your team is ridiculous. Luca locking it down on the perimeter. But I mean, if regarding my team, Lucas has the Arpasia. I guess I'll live. Nakam's taking him off the dribble. We're attacking Luca. So he has nowhere to hide. Come here, buddy. So KP would guard Dirk or or Big [ __ ] Barbecue Chicken. Who's guarding Dirk? You have no Derk defenders. Big Z's guarding D. I think Yeah, I I think Big Z would guard Dirk. KP would guard Seyakum. Is Sabonis your best derk defender? Ew. Cuz he's big. He's mobile a little bit. He probably has the best hips of those three. Is Luca your best dender? Oh wow. And then we put we put Nemhard on Pia so he can run around with Yeah. Luca on Rubio. Oh, Sabonis helps off of Rubio. Yeah, just sag, just sag, man. You're good. KP checks. Seakum. Big Z guards. Horford. You're [ __ ] either way. But yeah, maybe Luka Garden Derk's your best option. Luca guarding Derk. You should have been glory. [ __ ] Luca Gardner Derk. That'll show him. That's the game plan. Nice. That's bad. That's not great. I'll say that much. Guess what? We're going to run this back again the next two draft. One day, you'll win. Now, if we do, it's a cursed duo. If our third draft is bad, I'm leaving the franchise. I I will seek employment elsewhere.
Next thing we're going to do, NBA free agency has been in full swing for about a week. We have lots of new teams that have changed their construction. We are going to grade some of the newest NBA starting lineups. Some of these might change by the time you're seeing this. The Lakers might sign Kaminga by the time you're seeing this and he'll be starting TBD. But as of today, these are what we think the starting lineups will be. We have to grade them.
Okay. So, first up, Kaminga. 76ers, Maxi VJ, Jaylen Brown, Dean Wade, Joel Embiid. Why is a Dona not playing center? What the [ __ ] are you talking about? A Dimone is going to play more games this year than Joe Olympia. Ah, probably. Probably. Would be great. The starting lineup winter hole. When they're hole, I think I'll give it a B minus. That's fair. Yeah, you're more talented now getting Jaylen Brother Paul George in a vacuum is good. Very few defenders, very few passers in this lineup. I'm going A minus. It's a lot of It's a lot of buckets here. It's gonna be It's gonna be very very hard to It's gonna be very hard to stop. And I do think that every obviously you would like your your starting five to be this very like balanced well-rounded machine where everybody can can fit perfectly. But if your opening lineup is just like we're going to come out here, we're going to put 40 on you in the first quarter. That could be very very valuable. I don't think they're going to be that level of offense though. Do you think it's going to be a top three offense in the league? They might score 50 a night. Yeah. In the first quarter. He's about to say godamn. He thinks they suck. Jesus Christ. 50 points per game. I don't see a top three offense in the league. I don't think I think I could see at best maybe a top seven offense in the league and that's mainly driven by like yo they have like tier one athletes from point guard, shooting guard and small forward. It's ridiculous. It's incredibly hard to stop that that level of speed and really strength from Jaylen Brown. So I think if VJ Edgecom becomes a fantastic defender, this could be an A starting five. That's a lot to ask of EJ Edgecom in year two. I'll go B minus for now. Yeah.
All right. Next A+ business, B minus fit. Next one. Boston Celtics. Other side of the trade. Paying Pritchard, Derek White, Paul George, Jason Tatum, Namias Kada. Yo, Derek White looks bolder than ever, man. That doesn't even look like Derek White for real. Boulder than bald. Yeah. Uh, we will go still bald. We'll go B. Too bald. B minus here. I'm with A. I like this lineup. like at least from a basketball fitwise better than what Philly has to offer. Philly obviously has way more talent so that trumps the conversation, but the fit honestly I could see an A. Yeah, I think it wasn't a great trade to give up two first round picks and I mean to get just Paul George and two first round picks for Jaylen Brown, but I do think Paul George will fit like a glove and if Jason Tatum is back to being Jason Tatum if Derrick White hopefully can make threes again this year and isn't just a lost cause as a shooter. This lineup really checks all the boxes. Yeah, they're still good bump, man. Good bump. You're completely out on the team. Like, I'm not You haven't been You haven't been high on your team since they made the trade. What do you mean? Hey, you hear that? His voice. He You're doing it wrong right now. I can hear it. You just disrespected him. What do you mean? You might need to apologize to him right now. I don't. I felt real pain in his voice. I don't. It's my guys, man. I'm a Celtics fan, too. Is Paul George a guy? Yes. Yes. Is Paul on the team? You're You're one of my guys. Look me in the eyes. Paul Georgia guy. Yes, he's my guy. Ah, standing on the hell. Yeah, he going to be knocking down in threes. Ah, he don't have that. He He going to do that, but he's going [ __ ] right now. He's going to look like that Kendrick Perkin video from a couple years ago. He's dribbling in the driveway like he's no separation at all. I think this team is once again, just like they were last year, going to be a top defense and a top offense in the regular season at least. Playoffs might come around and we'll see if the lack of elite shot creation that Jaylen Brown vacates is a problem. But regular season wise, this is going to be a top lineup in the league. You know what would be like a terrific story? If Tatum came out and like actually averaged like 31, 32 a game, 11 and six or something like that. That would be tough. It's happening. That would be tough if MVP. Hey man, off of the Jaylen Brown. Hey man, he would seal [ __ ] You do have to have a better year than Jaylen Brown had last year. That is tough. He set the bar pretty [ __ ] high. Give me 32 Tatum. That's a lot of points. Yeah, lot of wins. a lot of wins. Yep. Yeah. They going to need it cuz you think Paul George playing 82 games? [ __ ] no. Damn. He's not doing it. Well, he would have did it last year. Actually, no. Never mind. You got heard before the suspension? Yeah. Is he going to get suspended again? 62 games. Paul George. Yeah, he can play 62. No, he can't. Why not? That's out. Is he going to get Are the feds going to do a sweep again? He doesn't. Even Even before this year, he wasn't playing 62 consistently. Yeah, he had some injuries, but like I don't know. I'm going say no. safe bet. Didn't he get hurt like game one? Preseason. Game one he did last year. I forgot about that. Remember he hyperextended into THE SPLITS? OH [ __ ] I remember. Yeah, he did the splits. Damn. Yeah, I feel good about the starting five. We'll see what everything else is like. This this going to be a good team. I give this a B+.
Next one. Los Angeles Lakers. As of today, Luca Reeves, Grimes, Mamu, and Walker Kesler. Uh, four and a half white men. This is Walker. Save me defense, bro. Holy [ __ ] Yeah, we're gonna go. Walker might save me. He can't save you all this. Big walk might save me. So Luke Luca's here and he has an actual center that I believe in. So I think minimum and an all-star level shooting guard. Yeah, So I think minimum I have to go B minus, but that's that's probably the the ceiling phase. If they sign Kaminga and by the time people are watching this, he's starting a power forward and Mamu sixman. Then how do you feel? They have the athlete there to run the four, grab rebounds. B. So from B minus to B. Yeah. Kamika moves you half a degree. Maybe if if we call if we call it a move. So yeah, I just I just don't think that this team has a lot of of defense. I do think that they can they can get blown by at a lot of spots on this starting five. Yeah, I'm give it a B. Solid B. There's just too much to see when it comes to Walker Ker and what he has to offer. I haven't seen it just yet. I have all the faith in the world in Walker Kesler. All the faith in the world in Luka and Reeves. Quinton Grimes, what are you prepared to show me? How how much point of attack defense can you do? Can you bring back Nick's Quinn Grimes? If that's the case, you can do that. And with Kaminga there, if we can get Kamingo grabbing the rebounds, running in transition, I think five. That was that was a long time ago. It was, but you know, he's been a different team context since then. They haven't really need him to be that. Or maybe they have. Maybe I could have more faith in JJ Reic to get that out of him, who's proven to be a good defensive coach. Wasn't he good in like the first quarter of last year? No, last year he was dog [ __ ] and Sixers fans hated him. He wasn't making threes at all, but he was pretty good in the beginning of the season before that when he was the Mavericks before they blew it up and traded Luca, but Sixers fans hated him. He had a bad year. No, if if Kaminga is here, I'll go be bless. Okay, with Mamu starting, his defense is pretty stinky. But I do think Mamu and Kesler offensively can be amazing. We'll see. So, I think with Mamu, they can be the best offense in the league, but they're not they're not defending anybody with Mamu with the four. Yeah, we'll go B minus. Okay, come save me. What a sentence.
Oh, what do you got for me, Kaminga? Minnesota Timberwolves, LaMelo Ball, presumably Iowa at the two, Ant at the three at the four starting and Go Bear at the five. Already we made this trade so that Ant doesn't have to play out of position. Now he's a wing stopper and now he's a three. This is this is tough. Now the starting lineup, the issue with the with the Wolves has been that their depth has been deteriorating every single year and the starting lineup has mainly stayed intact. I do think that this five is still an A. I think that the starting five is still good. Now ask me about six through 10. We we don't we might got to create new letter grades. We don't we don't know about that. But this five and these players are they're going to fit well offensively. Rudy, you know, is going to hold everything down. We might get another leap from Jaden McDaniels. This is going to be a good team. This might be one of the best starting fives in the league. Like the the complimentary nature of LaMelo's passing, Ant scoring, and then Jaden and Goar's defense is crazy. Like they check every box you'd want besides like maybe one more rebounder. Yeah, I just wish that Yao wasn't starting because I think he's more valuable off the bench. But if this is what they truly do, then still regardless of the fact this is a super talented starting fight. They mesh so well. Who trying to start Taran Shannon? You're going to have to. You can sell me on something else if you want, but these are the five best players. Jaylen Clark, what are you prepared to do about it, man? Hey, low key, you should take a shooting leap. Something, man. Can you give me like 33% from three-point line? That's all I'm asking for. Not anymore. The bar is low and are getting 40 to start. It's not that low. It's not that low at all for Taylor 36 for anybody. Listen, man. I'm just trying to be below regular. You better shoot the ball. He's not a huge guy. Yeah. Overall, very good lineup. LaMelo is going to bring the best out of Anggo Bear. Next one. I give it an A. Minnesota. Oops. Charlotte Hornets. Kobe White, Conanibble, Brandon Miller, Nas Reed, Diabate. Kobe White looks crazy in this picture. Gigantic. Yeah, his hair's just everywhere. He looks majestic. Damn. Nas Reed a part of this offense. That's a lot of three points. Way more spacing than Miles Bridges. Yeah. Who didn't offer really anything to the game at all. Yeah, the spacing is going to be outlandish. This is going to nothing to We won't miss you even a little bit. Uh the spacing is going to be [ __ ] outlandish with the offensive rebounding of Dia to create second chance opportunities off of that. Kobe White can slash a little bit, get some paint touches with that spacing. The fit is there. Is Kobe White good enough as a playmaker to make it all work is the question. Exactly. I don't think people Brandon Miller and Diabate presumably Brandon Khan Khan. What you trying to do for me? Diabate is hustling cuz like Nas isn't Nas isn't guarding anybody. He's getting his hand up. That's about it. Okay, he can put his hand up. I don't think Kobe White is guarding anybody for real. Kobe White, he tries not the biggest guy. Is the shot still might go in and it may not be like his fault necessarily, but the shots still still may go in those. I'm not sure um what shooting over those. Yeah, So, I'm not I'm not sure what the what the defensive potential of this starting five is. Yeah. Not high. That's You say I'm not sure. I'm sure it's not that high. And that that's why it does it does bring me down. I see the vision. I know what the Hornets are trying to do, but without without the defense, I'm I'm going B minus. I'll say B minus as well. That's fair. If Kobe White can be the best playmaking version of himself because he has so much spacing to work with, it can be probably better than we think. That's not a given. We've been asking Kobe White to do that for like the last, I don't know, three years and he just That's just not him as a player. He's never been in an offensive ecosystem this good. He's playing for the Bulls. The Bulls. If the Bulls had one thing, their offense was like consistently decent. Yeah, decent. This might be like the third best offense in the league. We'll see, man. We'll see. We will see cuz maybe or maybe they just missed LaMelo entirely and it was a terrible idea to ship him out and maybe they are like the 11th best offense and it all fails. That would be so bad. Maybe LaMelo was the answer. 17th best offense on the way. That would be baffling, dude. That would be horrendous. Everybody would get fired. All right, next one.
Miami Heats, DaVon Mitchell, THJ, Andrew Wiggins, Giannis, and Bam. I don't like this starting five. I'm going C++ here. But we have Giannis and Bam. The defensive ceiling and floor are both crazy. And Davon Mitchell at the point of attack. Your defense is going to be elite. That's easily If you saw offensive version of this with a mid defense, you'd probably feel pretty good about it. Yeah. Well, here we are the defensive version. It's not one to one. Why not? You You don't respect defense now. Come on now. Like, listen. You got You do have to You do have to score points like, and so they I don't trust their ability to score consistently and often. If only they have one of the greatest scores of all time in the power forward position. I thought you talking about Bam. They got two of the greatest scores of all time. They got Bam. You know, Wiggins can give you like a cool 15 points per game. Tim Hardway Jr. literally did that off the bench to give you 14. Hey man, this might average 50 a night. Come on. I don't think
I don't think it's a bad lineup. It's not perfect. You're right. They're one shot creator away from being like an A lineup. If that was, I don't know who at shooting guard you could expect to see. If that was Tyler Hero, shooting guard, maybe I'd be more moved and I'd be like, "Oh, I see all the vision." They don't have enough dribbling. But I think the defense is so high that I'm still going to give it a B+.
Yeah. I'll go to B+. Yeah, I'll go B flat. Maybe not glaze too much. B flat.
I think this is I'm going C++.
Outside of the Timberwolves, like this is they have like the strongest defense here. Probably stronger than the Timberwolves, honestly.
Oh, yeah. Definitely strong Timberwolves.
Yeah. So, I give this a B+.
Giannis and Bam is going to move mountains defensively, man. How are you going to score in the paint?
And also offensively too, like it's hard to guard two bigs that are that mobile.
Facts.
You said floaters.
Yeah.
Runners.
Runners. Yeah, you're right. Who has bigs that can keep up with those guys with the dribble?
That mobile, they're going to give a lot of teams issues.
Got to flick that right stick.
Yic is going to have hell trying to guard one of these two. You can't hide anyone.
You sold me. B+ B+. This is a good team.
Yeah. You got you got to keep your hand open on the on the floater.
Follow through. Follow through.
No, you don't you don't follow through. You got to keep it open.
Oh, facts. Facts. Facts.
Soft touch.
Come on, man.
All right. Next. No spin on the ball.
Toronto Raptors quickly. Barrett, Kawhai, Barnes, and YaKob at the starting five.
Yakob at the five.
They won like 44 games last year with Brandon Ingram in place of Kawhi Leonard.
Whatever that means.
Whatever that means. Now they have Kawhai. Now they have Super Brandon Ingram. Multiple Pokemon evolutions upwards.
Super Ingram.
I give this an A. Honestly.
A.
Yeah, cuz I think Scotty Bar's ready to make that leap. Actually, no. I can't go A on part of Yakapurle holding down the [ __ ] center of the court.
I guess if he maybe he gets healthy and bounces back a little bit.
Yeah.
B+ to A minus. If they get a different starting center, I'll go A.
Again, we talked about it when they got Ingram. We were like, listen, Ingram is not that great. Getting a shot creator next to Scotty Barnes will change his life. We cannot forget where Scotty Barnes was two years ago with no shot creation, being forced to get out the mud, shooting the ugliest mid-range jumpers. Ingram represented not that. Now we got another step forward. This is going to be a very good team. Uh, I'm I'll go B for them. I think I can't overlook Yaka Bright. I I can't I can't do it.
He's hard to miss. He's large.
He's just too big.
Now, when we go to this lineup and it's C and B there, that moves me.
I like I like that more.
Do we just start C and B?
Sure.
No centers.
Scotty grabbed them boards.
Mhm.
You can do it.
All right, [ __ ] it. Put C and B there at center and now we're starting that. What do you give it?
A.
A plus. There we go.
Okay.
You got Jordan and Pippen. So.
There you go.
Next one. Milwaukee Bucks.
Mean man.
Ryan Rollins, Tyler Herro, Hime Hockey Jr., Kyle Kosma, and Miles Turner.
We didn't have to set them up like this. And it is.
Tell John Horse. I didn't set this up.
It It is tough because like you know those games where you combine the two teams and it's like, can this team beat the San Antonio Spurs? Can these two teams beat the Oklahoma City Thunder together? This team ain't beating nobody, man. They're not beating the Nets right now. Um, it's real.
I'm giving this an F.
I don't know if they're beating the Shanghai Sharks right now.
I don't know if I can give them an F because Ryan Rollins is good.
What's your team's name?
Uh, Hitman.
You can beat the Nuggets. We have a chance.
[ __ ] out of here.
Where's that from?
Gills Arena.
RIP.
It was Rashad McCann's talking about European teams can beat NBA teams. And when he played in, I think with Lithuania, he was like, "We could be we could beat the NBA champs. We have a chance any given night." And they asked him his team name. He said, "Hitman." He sounded like he was going to cry. We have a chance.
I'm like barely exaggerating, by the way.
No, I I need to I'm going to look up that clip after this show.
You have a chance.
That's funny. I lose by 200.
That's what this team would do.
Lose by 200.
Yeah. This is one of the teams in the NBA. This is the 25th offense and 22nd defense in the league.
That's too much credit defensively.
26th offense and 26th defense in the league.
There we go.
Actually, no. Flip that. 20 24th offense, 27th defense.
How do you figure that?
I think Hero can get some buckets.
No.
Ryan Rollins give you 20.
No, this is a team waiting to like trade people to deadline. This is going to be a great seller season where we get two first on picture Ryan Rollins, two first on picture Tyler Hero, and we salary dump Kyle Kuzzma to like, I don't know, a tech company that wants his genius mentorship.
Yeah, just send him to I don't know, North Korea somewhere.
Send him to OpenAI. Apparently, he has ideas.
Yeah.
Dude. He's so big on startup culture now.
He's It's so cringe.
Yeah.
He's on Twitter. Never mind.
Yeah, this is a.
He wants to get traded to the Warriors. Actually.
He does. This is a nice little F lineup, but what do you expect after you trade Jiannis?
Yeah. Next one.
They thought this was going to make you stay.
Portland Trailblazers, John Morant, Damen Lillard, Denny Aia, Tumani Kamara, and Donovan Clayton.
So funny. All these players right here got something to prove. Tumani had a wonky year to start out. Their fans [ __ ] hated him because he forgot to shoot. Denny good threele score and he made an all-star team. So I guess he's the most proven guy here. Dame coming off Achilles, Jaws Jaw, and Donovan Clingan. You were ass in the first round. He's horrible at the playoffs.
He's a Danny.
I got to give him a little bit of credit.
Did he?
Yeah.
I cannot understand how you make a good defense with Damen Lillard post Achilles at 35 and John Morant on the same court.
You don't.
You just don't even try. not worried about that.
I can also barely understand.
Thank you. Somebody understands the method. We don't care about any of those any of your stocks. We don't care about We don't care about any of your what do you call point of attack.
What is that?
Here's the thing.
What is that?
What is a slide? What is a defensive slide? That means nothing to me.
Come on, man.
That means nothing to me.
The problem is I also don't know how to score well enough with those guys. I don't even know if they hoop. How are they going to defend because they can't bring.
Stop asking that question.
We just.
You have to play defense.
We just talked about this, man.
You You don't You don't.
Are you listening?
You don't You don't have to do it. And that's the trap that everybody falls into. You're being brainwashed right now.
You think your defense matters?
You want to play like everybody else. Go be different. Go do something else.
Okay.
Go be on some other [ __ ] man. You know what I'm saying? Like.
Okay.
Go be different. You're right. You right.
Come on. Yo, very inspiring.
And what type of other [ __ ] is John and Don as a duo?
You know, in in between uh like in commercial breaks, they got the dudes who jump on the trampolines.
John needs to be like that. John needs to jump off the trampolines, man. When he's midair, you think you can block him behind the back.
It's Dame.
I I need J throwing midair. He he to Dame in the corner right there. And that's how we're playing offense.
You never know what innovators do, man. If Jaw is a trampoline kid.
They think I'm crazy.
By definition, innovators, you don't know what they do. So.
And next, next thing you know, top five offensive.
And then one genius that ain't crazy.
Come on now.
Anyway, this is a D.
They trying to act like he never said anything right. THAT'S THAT'S A BAR. THAT'S A BAR.
SO, if John Mor and Chinkis, can Dane be the Chihuahua that has the ball in his nose? Like.
He still got a little something. Yeah.
It is going to be the the Chinese lady with the with the pots.
On the head.
Red Panda.
Yeah, Red Panda.
She's lit, man.
They saying she's underpaid.
Okay.
Her books came out on Twitter.
I saw that.
Wait, really?
Yeah.
Her rate card came out and everyone's like, "Yo, you are mad underelling yourself."
Wow.
She just does it for the love of the game.
Respect.
She loves to balance. Just.
I mean, where else is she going to balance? She can't do it at home. Should we book her on the show?
On the show?
She'll be in the middle right there.
It's the entire show for like 3 hours. I don't think the ceiling is high.
She don't get the three bowls and stop, bro. Next one. Oh my god. Brooklyn Ness, Muel Brown Jr., Joe, Michael Porter Jr., You're Julius Randle and Dron Sharp.
This is no shade to them cuz like individually you can see the vision with all of these players. This lineup is stupid. It's just dumb. It It just doesn't make any sense. It's It's one of the more random collections of of people that we've ever seen.
Collections of people.
Random collections is an interesting way to put it.
It's really tough.
What's random about Muel Brown and Jor? What's wrong?
Come on, man. Macau Brown and Joeman are one team and then Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle are another team. It's a random. This is what you said earlier. You get two teams and combine them to make their best five. This is what you get. Two timelines to a T and the day runs.
He's just in his own world. Anyway.
He's just trying to hoop for real outside the vend diagram.
He's quiet for real until you get to know him.
God.
Yeah, everybody else is is talking, chattering while while Jod's trying to go over plays and stuff. Dron's like.
"And then we got Jod. We got a genius trying to get them in line." But Michael Junior's like, "Let me hoop." Two young guys, two fours that need to be traded tomorrow. And a genius trying to put it all together.
C minus C.
It'll be fun.
Yep. C. It'll be solid.
I can watch it and I can have fun watching it.
Here two gentlemen, what you got for me? If you make a leap, maybe I can see the vision. I'm going to go see. One of the most suicide squads.
Suicide Squad.
I've ever seen.
But not even that though because we have two young core players. It's so weird.
He drafted Blue Beetle to the Suicide Squad.
They going to be decent, man.
D minus D plus.
I give this a C. A C. They could win 30 games and end up with like a top three pickaxe.
For some reason, For some reason, Nightwing is there. I don't know.
I wait. They don't have their pickaxe here, right?
I got to No, they No, it's a swap. Damn. So, you ever love the game?
[ __ ] They have to be decent. They have no choice.
Next one. Los Angeles Clippers, Darius Garland, Keen Waggler, Brandon Ingram, Ru Hashima, and Brook Lopez.
Yo, this is a frail ass team. That f that first three is tough.
I've never seen a stupid lineup. I'm not going to lie.
That first four.
Who's grabbing rebounds on this team? Don't tell me Brook Lopez. He hasn't done that in several years.
Wag.
Don't tell me Ruy. If Rookie got rebounds, he'd be a Lakers.
There's no way.
Gayen.
Hell no. Super hell no.
Don has to start. I don't think Brook Lopez is going to start for this team. He adds like nothing to this team at all other than like.
You're saying it's Brook Lopez.
No, he's good.
To pair with Brandon Ingram.
Yeah. Yeah. Just super [ __ ] no. Give me Yik as a starting lineup. In the starting lineup.
Okay. So, let's say Yanik starts. doesn't move anything. Actually.
D. Still.
It just looks better.
I like Garland a lot. I like Waggler a lot as a prospect.
End of sentence.
D.
I think my one of the most interesting things is like whenever teams like new new teams or like new lineups get get formed, like I'm looking at these five guys, I'm just wondering what are what are they going to talk about?
You know, like.
Like in the locker room on the bench. What does Keenan Waga have to say to Brandon Ingram? What is he cur about his life? What is he curious about?
So glow.
That might be it.
When's the next drop?
Guaranteed he don't pay attention to that.
You said the Nets are one of the most random assortment of players. This is way more random.
All these guys are in completely different stages of their career.
This is truly a randomizer of names with like quite literally zero rhyme or reason about why they should play together. They all pretty much have like nothing alike.
It's like a team you build on 82 and0.
Oh, and you're the worst 82 drafter of all time.
Yeah, I know.
This is an expansion team lineup.
Going to be interesting to watch.
This is the Seattle SuperSonics in three years.
Literally. Yeah.
They built a dome for this lineup.
They got thousand bathrooms for this.
They gentrified Englewood for this. from behind Keen Waggler is down bad cuz of Brandon Ingram and Keen Wagler. They're going to tear down American Delhi for this.
[ __ ]
Your wings sound good right now from American.
You're hilarious. You got the last one.
Probably young, man.
We got to go.
American Delhi.
Do they have this here? I don't know.
I don't think I've seen it.
Talk to me about the one.
Over there.
I had it one time in Englewood. They have one there by the stadium.
It's pretty good.
It's great.
I People from Atlanta made me think it was going to be life-changing. It wasn't that, but it was good.
Just like good consistent comfort food.
Yeah, it was cool. Next thing we're going to do, I'm going to name to you NBA big threes. Five of them. You tell me if they're better or worse than Luca, Reeves, and Kesler.
All right.
Okay.
Three great whites. Let's do it. Let me know which one you'd rather have. Level one, Snowtown Lakers or Booker Brooks and Miles Bridges.
If there was somebody else other than Bridges.
Maybe.
Even then. What the [ __ ]
It's Booker and Brooks.
Booker's not even better than Austin Reeds right now. That says a lot.
He's closer to He's better than him, but he's closer to his peers than he is Lucas.
Yeah.
We'll go with Snow Time.
You're goddamn right you will. No time leakers.
Level two, Paulo, Fronze, and Bane.
Uh, I mean, when they play together.
Would Walker Kesler be their best player?
No.
Slow down.
Listen up.
You tell me. You offer me Paliban care for Walker straight up? I'm slamming the me for for glazing. Kesler hasn't played a.
He's the great white hope. What do you want?
I gota time myself to optimism or [ __ ] gets spooky. We'll go we'll go with Snow Time here. I think I think.
We have to. Yeah, they just match up better.
Because even as hypothetical defense and as hypothetical as SnowTime is, the Magic also have not gotten like the best version of their trio, they're also a hypothetical tree.
It's been a three-year hypothesis and we haven't really seen anything happen yet.
So, I will go Snow.
Yeah. Okay. Level three. Jason Tatum, Derek White, and Paul George. Now, we get interesting. Lot of defense there.
Tatum.
No Luka Don there. I don't even think there's Austin Reeves as an offensive player there outside of Tatum.
Tatum White and Paul George. Those are two like great role players in White.
Better than Luca.
Yeah, sure.
Tatum is better than Luka. True.
More complete of a play. Won a championship already.
He does play the game the right way. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay. Derek White bald defense.
This is true.
None of those guys got to be.
All defensive guy. Yeah.
Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep.
Arthur Reeves would never be on all defense.
[ __ ] no. Hell no. Like Derek White doesn't make shots, but why do you even want your second option to make shots? You should really just want them to play defense.
Paul George has been in the league in a for a long time. He has more experience than Walker Kesler.
And also he has a show, too. Walker Kesler could never have a show.
He doesn't have a show.
Doesn't have a show anymore. I think Paul George stopped doing that.
Oh, so he's locked in.
Potentially.
Okay.
Unless he relapses and picks up that mic.
Oh [ __ ]
Maybe.
Uh, Snow.
We'll go to snow time.
All right. Snow time. You god damn right you're going to no time level four Giannis Bam and Wiggins. Now we get a team that has one of the best players in the world that's just as good as Luca.
So this is really like a it's really a Wiggins versus Kesler debate.
Nasty.
And who you who you trust more next year?
I don't know if I Well, we know what Wiggins is going to be. There's not really a trust factor involved. There's no variance. Wiggins is Wiggins.
It's more about your belief in Kesler than.
Yeah. Uh.
I think even is just Kesler. He's probably like just as good as Wiggins.
He'll never be Wiggins.
If Luca improves like Wiggins.
He'll never be an all-star elected by K-pop fans.
True. He was allstar. Forget.
That's a once in a lifetime moment nobody can take from him.
Uh.
If Luca improves Kesler 0% with his passing, I think he's equal to Wiggins. If Luca does anything to make Kesler better, he smokes Wiggins. I think I'm gonna go the Miami Heat simply because Walker can't guard [ __ ] everybody, bro. He's going to be exhausted every single player.
Good luck guarding Lukan Reeds.
Yeah, for sure. They're going to put up like 130 while giving up 160.
Yeah, I I I'll go with Miami. I'll go with Miami.
I'm actually undecided, but I'll go with Miami.
I just can't go with the Lakers right now. Wiggins. If they kept Nor Pal, I would understand this. Wiggins. Kesler.
What is Kesler's has done nothing in his career so far so it's like so I help.
You would sh joy if you got put on the Hawks right now.
Would I?
Yes.
For two picks.
Yes.
Like $40 million too. I don't know about that one.
Reasonable salary.
I don't know about that one.
Dyson Daniels money.
A tier.
He's paid Dyson Daniels so much money.
I pay D money.
I can get behind that now.
But yeah, I'm going Miami.
Yeah.
Miami beats snowtime. The great white hopes could not make it to level five. Level five would have been Webby Fox and Castle.
Oh yeah, that's over.
WB's arguably the best player in the NBA.
Luca's arguably number two.
I I'm not even making an argument.
What happens when Kesler and Re are both all stars next year? Then what?
Again, keep on telling.
You got it. Like.
What are the chances that happens? Yo, they have to win like 70 games in order for that to happen.
What the [ __ ] Calm down.
Yeah, they have to win like 70 games.
All three of them to be.
All three. For Kesser to be an all-star.
They have to win 70 games.
Yeah, you do.
They got to be on.
For Keser to be an all-star. Yes.
Cat Goar and Aunt made it all together.
They did.
Yeah, that one year. But they're the one.
I'm sure there was some like injury replacement.
No, they're the ones.
So, like.
Yeah, you have to be tracking for like 65 wins probably.
Or like at 60 realistically probably.
No, [ __ ] that. 70. Next thing we're going to do, NBA free agency is mostly finished. A few moves left to happen. The LeBron James domino hasn't fallen yet, but most things have already occurred. So, we asked you guys to give us your best hot takes related to free agency and how it affects the rest of the league this year. We're going to see if it's a W or an L take.
Okay.
So, first off, what we got, Boss, get ready to read.
Okay. All right. Uh, if Kawawaii was about eight years younger, he and Scotty Barnes would be the modern day version of Pippet and Jordan.
Sure. Eight years younger. That's a long time. It's a decade ago.
That was a long time ago.
Okay.
You got this a W take.
You got it. Everyone the same thing like once you start going too far back in in history, you could say whatever you want.
Well, I don't know about whatever you want cuz he said literally be the modern version. So, you're saying 2018 in Kawaii and Scotty wins six rings? Hey.
Who am I to say no?
Come on now.
I mean, we knew that Kawhai was a good player eight years. Eight years ago.
He wasn't playing for eight years ago, was he?
No. Seven years ago, he won a championship. Eight years ago, he missed a year. But nevertheless, let's just assume he means seven years ago.
So, you have you have Pete Kawhai, Scotty Barnes. Yeah.
Is that the best duo in the league?
It's uh.
No.
It's one of them, but because.
Was it like seven years ago or right now?
2019 Kawawaii and Scotty Barnes. Is that the best duo in the league? 2026 got 2019.
WY and somebody.
Somebody pick your poison.
Yeah, either like Castle Harbor whatever.
I think I would take 22 2022 Steph and Draymond over them.
I mean right now in today's league would they be the best?
You should take.
Shay and Jet or Shay and Jub.
I would take Shay and Jub.
That's a combo. That's a combo. That's a good debate to me. I think.
I would take Shane.
Over 2019 Kawhai and Scotty Barnes.
Yeah, Shay's just as good as 2019 Kawhai. JDub's pretty similarish to Scotty.
Scotty's better, I think. But like it's a debate.
It's close.
Yeah, it's not like a wash at all.
Yeah, it could go either way. I would understand the argument for the Raptors for sure.
But I mean, I get the I get the point that they're saying. So, you know what? W take.
In spirit. W take.
Yeah.
All right. Next. The Lakers are insanely underrated. They're making it to the conference finals this year.
Conference finals. So, obviously that's not a given. What has to happen for the Lakers to make the conference finals? What do you need to see for if I tell you that does happen, what would have happened between now and then?
Uh, JDub and AJ Mitchell missed the second round.
Okay. Thunder getting by injuries, you know, like probably because if you make the conference finals, you're probably just a healthy team.
Yeah.
What else? What on the Lakers side on top of injury luck?
On the Lakers side, you know, someone makes a miraculous defensive leap in their back court.
You sign John Daminga and you make him into Aaron Gordon. You finally convince him to do the little things cuz he has the physical capabilities. If he does little things, he can do that type of thing.
We got to stop holding out this hope for Kaminga, man.
You're probably right. But that's what that's the type of [ __ ] that needs to happen.
I know you said it so many times today. I'm just like.
I've said that one time today.
I can't I I can't.
I haven't uttered Aaron Gordon's name a single time until now.
No, no, the the Kaminga leap.
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
I can't co-sign it.
Well, I I said the Kaminga presence earlier. I don't say anything about a leap till now.
I can't get behind that. I I I don't have a hope for it either, but that's the type of thing you need to see. And you need to see Walker Kesler like be the fifth best center in the league and make that magical leap next to Luca.
That's a leap, man.
Fifth best center.
Yeah. Get into like chat combos.
Best center. Kaminga.
Last year he was for the few games that he played, he did have like a lot of eyebrow raising moments.
If I tell you he's a seventh best center, I won't be shocked even a little bit.
It's not hard to be.
On the high end. He might not be that, but like he can be the seventh best center. If Kamika locks in and defends, they sign him. Quinn Grimes defends. Like I guess there's a world in which this could happen, but I'm not betting on it.
So So I think the from everything that we're describing, what really is the key is can JJ Reic just.
Make everybody lock in defensively and elevate and elevate everybody and put everybody in positions to where as like the the sum of their parts is greater than than the individuals as as defenders. And now you can and and now you have Walker and if he's not Rudy Gobear, that's okay. You're just not the worst perimeter defending group in the league. And so a lot of it does uh does land at the feet of JJ.
JJ and Walker. And you know what? I do trust JJ to do that to some degree. I don't know if it's best case scenario for everybody, but I do have faith in him to get the most out of a lot of these players.
Yeah. I mean, if there's one thing that JJ's proven consistently throughout his short NBA career as a coach, he's gotten the most out of his players defensively and gimmicked up the best defenses possible.
He will gimmick.
Yeah, exactly. With like the low amount of defensive talent that he's had. So, I I believe in that for sure.
And I do believe they're going to be the best offense in the league or at least in the running.
Like I think the lineups that have Mamu, Luca, and Reeves are going to be and Kesler out there too at the five with the lop threat, those are going to be like impossible to guard. So, if you can tell me I trust JJ Reic on the defensive end, I trust Luca and the wide array of ball handling and shooting, they could be a dark horse make the conference finals. I think I'll I'll say W take for the part that they're insanely underrated. I don't know if they make the conference finals, but I do think they're being underrated because of like name value not being as high as people want.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right. Next take.
Isaac should go ball for the summer.
W take.
You think I should try it?
You got to try it.
Just for the summer.
Yeah, bro. It's hot these days, man. You're going to Vegas this weekend. So.
You still going to keep the beard?
Oh, yeah. You have to full bald. That'd be crazy.
Yeah. Full bald is kind of nuts.
But yeah.
You ruined the whole look. I'd be so mad, bro. I couldn't be here with you just like just straight looking like a kneecap. Hell no.
What if I do the like [ __ ] trendy just mustache?
Don't do that.
Again. No, I'd be scared.
Don't do that.
I can't do that. What about mustache skinny mustache and a little bit of chin hair?
What is this? 2002.
You can't do that.
You could do some pitbull pit.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, you could do something to me.
Doll head ass. Okay.
Big chop.
Big chop. Yeah. M.
Buzz it.
And grow it back by the summer. This guy's name is Logan 67.
Great W take.
Yeah, I I agree with this.
All right, next.
I think the Celtics are still going to be a top three seed even without Jaylen Brown.
Wait, I agree. This is a great take. Regular season wise, I don't think they'll lose a step. Playoffs, we'll probably miss Jaylen Brown. We'll see how the rest of the guys, you know, fill in his absence, but I think regular season wise, they're still going to be a great mid-50 win team.
Yeah, I agree. And if they are, I fully expect Tatum to be an MVP on the MVP ballot or even be like at least number two on that list. I don't think he's gonna win it because I think Lee's just aware of Wim and he's going to just naturally grab it. But Tatum, this is like the best narrative year for you.
You're setting him up. You know, he's not good enough to WIN EVERY YEAR.
NO, I'm not good enough. I mean.
I'm so excited to see how you sus Tatum, man. I'm not going to lie.
If there was ever a year, this is the year.
There's never a year he's not good enough. He's perpetually just below MVP level.
He always has like a a really hot start to the season and then once we get to like January, he starts cooling down.
He's always going to be at best the third or fourth guy that gets his name in the hat, but we're going to give the votes to Shay and WBY and Luka or whatever.
Now, what if this is the source of of of beef between him and Jaylen Brown where Jaylen Brown's like, "Man, I've had to sacrifice all this." And JT's like, "I've sacrificed. I I could have been out here dominating the ball, getting even more numbers, being in the MVP conversation, but you were here."
And now we got Bozos in a Longhorn hat saying, "I can never be an MVP."
Mhm.
Because of Jaylen Brown.
Mhm.
So.
Yeah.
Okay.
I think.
Yeah. Jason will win MVP this year.
[ __ ] it. Yeah. Yeah. And if he doesn't, it's a massive disappointment and they should trade him.
I agree. Worst contract in the league.
Mhm. Bum.
And I personally will put money on it. So, I will be personally affected if he does not accomplish this goal.
And you'll personally hate him more and that'll echo throughout the show for the next several years.
100%. And.
Is it the same odds as the the Nets make in the conference championship?
No. It's.
Come on now.
Damn it.
Is Is that what you think of Tatos?
I don't know how the odds work.
That was crazy. All right, next one.
The Timberwolves have the worst bench in the NBA as of right now. Worst the bottom feeders. Where's in the bottom feeders? Where's the Bucks? That's not a hot take.
The Bucks bench has native met the Timberwolves have.
I don't know.
Terrence Shannon Jr.
Two of them.
And like we did we did all of that all the all the talking about Native Mint. He might be solid.
Yeah, it probably will be in some some regard solid.
Yeah.
Kyle Kosma playing with Kyle Koozma.
I have no idea what the Timberwolves are going to do for for their bench. Benth, that's actually I mean they do have Bones Highland still which is solid. Okay. I can't notice I just stopped after that and I don't know anyone else coming off the bench right now.
Well, they were depending on serious time from Mike Connley and now he's gone.
Why the [ __ ] is he a Celtic now, too? That's just so ugly.
Cuz they paid him.
He should have been back in Memphis. It's just the culture, you know, to go out the right way.
W They do have a horrible bench amongst playoff teams. It's a serious problem, man. They do fail to get back to the conference finals and make a serious run with LaMelo. LaMelo will get the hate. It'll probably be because of Bench.
All right.
Unfortunately, that's because Dante Venzo got hurt, too. So, it's not really their fault.
Despite the Sacramento Kings ineptitude and the surprisingly good season from the Suns, the Suns still have the far bleeer future.
Yeah. When you trade a 2023 unprotected first for Miles Bridges. Yeah. Your your future isn't too great. Maybe I do want Darius Auff. Yeah, there's still a lot of other teams like the Suns, a lot of other teams have the Suns picks and now that.
They're looking their chops.
And now that you could be mid and potentially get a top top pick and the Suns don't get to capitalize on that at all. Meanwhile, their big three is Booker, uh, Booker.
Green.
Yeah, Jaylen Green and Dylan Brooks.
That's a mid three.
Bro, earlier I talked about you should buy Houston Rocket stock because they have a pick from the Suns. The Phoenix Suns are an opportunity for ROI for other fan bases. They're a value ad. They're a good buy low opportunity for other fan bases trying to invest. That's crazy.
Yeah. The Kings also have all their picks, too. They just didn't they like wave Demard Rosen as well? They did. That's nice. Okay.
That's productive.
Naturally taking efforts.
Yeah. I don't know. Look at it both ways. Yeah. Uh, this is obviously like.
This is like getting stabbed versus getting shot. I don't know which version I'd want, but I don't think either of these teams have a bright future. So, I'll give you a W take for the gumption.
Yeah, I I like this take. This is a great hot take.
All right. Next. The East is morphing into a conference with no top tier contenders, but with full but with full of second tier contenders. Full of really good teams with an obvious weakness. The East will be the bloodbath conference of the next season.
Good take. W take this conference is now deep as hell in a similar way to the West has been where three through nine really are just all like very even and anybody can win. Everybody can lose to each other as well obviously.
W take.
Yeah. I think there's legitimately like three through nine. I would even say like three through 10. You could look at this team and be like, "Yeah, y'all y'all should have made the playoffs this year."
Stop throwing the Hawks in there.
Stop squeezing them in a 10.
I'm squeezing in the Hawks, man. I was talking about the damn Hornets. We don't care.
Even even the Wizards, too. Like all these teams are decent.
Yeah. 3 through 10. The East is better.
Yeah.
Than the West.
Yeah.
I think that 10, Nine, and eight is like that quality is better.
Better.
Better. So.
The bottom three are better for sure.
The bottom three could be better because for thought experiment sake, let's say three through 10 in the West is.
Lakers, Nuggets, Timberwolves, Rockets.
Both the standings. That's where that that top four is pretty tough.
Yeah.
And then who would be after that? Uh, Suns, if you're going off last year, NBA teams, one second. Jazz, they're going to be pretty respectable now.
NBA teams. Why am I taking forever to pull the standings? Uh, Clippers are out of it.
What if the Warriors get LeBron? They're back in that.
I don't know if that's going to happen.
Uh, who I miss?
Mavericks. Are they going to be respectable?
Uh.
They're going to be decent.
Decent.
Yeah, they're going to be decent. Kyrie's back now. So.
So I got the seven naming good teams. Eight, nine, and 10 might be like Trailblazers, Warriors, Mavericks. Does the eight through 10 in the East move you more?
I think so.
So, if we're just So, one and two last year were Detroit and Boston. We Let's just put the Knicks in that first two.
Yep.
And then you Boston. You want to keep Boston?
Boston, too. So, we got Pistons, Cavs, Raptors, 76ers as the next four.
Miami, Indiana.
Indiana.
Mhm.
Okay. The mid tier special.
Yeah. For these for sure.
I think I think the same way and then in the same way that we're saying, "Oh, Utah is going to be respectable." I feel the same way about Washington jumping up this year. I think they're they're going to be good.
Um, Charlotte, I think they might take a a slight step back, but they're also still like a a good team. Orlando, they're frustrating, but they're going to win 45 games, and they're going to they're going to be there.
I I do think that outside of the top two contenders, the East is better.
Fair enough.
All right. Too bad the top two contenders are crazy.
The Pistons finish outside the top four in the East next year.
That's a hot take.
Right now I I agree with this and right now I'm I'm thinking that the Pistons might be a playing team.
Whoa. Game to a playing team. Oh, you got to stand on this.
Because because first again because of how deep the because of how deep the East is and because of where where the Knicks are, because of the fact that the Pacers are coming back. I do think it it is a very real possibility that that the Pistons are outside the top six next year.
60 to top to not top six is a crazy.
Hey man, life comes at you fast.
Tobias Harris mov that much.
Listen.
He's got better.
The only way that's.
He didn't get that much better.
He's got he's got better.
He didn't get leaps and bounds better. The only way that's possible to me is if someone like Cade misses like I don't know 20 games or 15 games or something like that.
Bro, seven misses.
I'm not Listen, if we So, if we did our predictions right now, I might not lock that in, but I know Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
You might not lock in.
Time. I'm saying like I'm not we're we're in freaking July. I'm not 100%.
I'm allowed to just talk right now.
Yeah. I'm not I'm not 100% on on that they are going to finish outside the the top six, but I do think that I right now I think I am I'm leaning more so that they will do that instead of not.
You're still workshopping the thought.
I I need to I need to see if I'm if I'm going to go all the all the way on it, but like.
I see what you mean. A lot of teams are going to are going to get better. Not a lot of teams are get more than 60 wins though. And let's say they fall off a little bit.
They're not getting 60 wins.
Yeah, I for sure. I don't think they I I know why you say that because I agree their offseason's been lackluster. What really has changed tangly to why they can't just do the exact same thing?
Like their defense is not going to move at all. And offensively, they did nothing but add talent shooting.
And if we're saying the East a little bit better, so they lose some of these games against teams that are better now. It's like 56 wins. Like 56 wins doesn't get you.
I don't I don't know if they get to to 55.
For what reason other than Vibes?
55.
The Vibes are bad, but.
Beefs do not walk through that door, man.
True. I think that's a reason. I could I could be sold.
I think I I think.
How how important is Beef Stew? Like I like him, but.
Not very much.
He's the culture. No, I think I think he is I think he is some somewhat important.
Okay. A 55 wins.
Yeah. A win. But like.
And maybe I'm just higher on on on Philly and them them jumping up, but when we get to.
I I think my top four right now would be New York, Boston, Philly, Indiana.
They really should have traded for Jaylen Brown. Now I think about it.
Who?
Like the the Pistons.
Trade Jaylen Duran.
Sure. Whatever it takes to get Jim Brown Financial Nightmare.
Because it's a it's a great great fit. I want psychade.
That's my That's my That's my top four right now.
Okay.
Okay.
Next up.
Apparently without Brad Stevens is moving, all it would have took is Ron Holland. So, next.
After the free agency signings and offseason moves the Brooklyn Nets have made, they will be one of the top 16s out in the East.
Take Detroit out the top six.
Put in 40k. Amen.
Not that worked.
But it's okay.
He doesn't know anyway.
It's okay.
Oh, yeah.
Is that what you said?
They have to win the Eastern Conference.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Okay. Uh, yeah. Clearly those Jagorman fit pickicss and Tik Toks moved this guy. Clearly he saw the tough fits. He saw the button-up shirts. He saw the matcha. And he was like, "That's a future superstar." And we're.
Vibes to deny somebody to have optimism based off of vibes. Who? It's meura. Who am I?
I haven't seen a lot of secondyear players have that kind of aura leap. That maybe that should mean something. Julius Randle coming in giving you some paint touches. Jaorman or leap. Mel Brown Jr. exists.
We can get something going here. That's That's a cool little nine seed. Who's to say that can't be a six seed?
Six seed. Yo, there has to be to say an insane injury run in the Eastern Conference for succeed.
Hey man, why not them?
I would Why not them?
I would stand them. Why not them?
I would stand on all 10. [ __ ] it. Give me three new toes. 13 that they're not doing it.
Six seed. What? This is a good hot take though. I like it.
All I'm hearing is Mo. He's them. Stay away from them.
Somehow I feel like you'd be less stable with 13 toes.
Yeah, I would need 14. That's man uneven. What do you mean? Of course they'll be unstable.
Cuz some people have some people have like Moses that are like fine, but like even having like unstable.
No.
And like they're they're fine. They're fine. Like they're not dead. They're probably less stable than you are. Yeah, of course. Do you think real question right now? Do you think that you would be more stable with 10 toes as opposed to 13 just because it's like even you know, exactly, exactly, probably actually, I'll be more completely stable with 10 toes. There's no issue here of stability. So like, yeah. Do I think, but if if I'm giving you an extra toe on each side and now and now with just a little bit more balance, you don't think that the extra toe on each side plus plus then the extra one. I don't I don't think that that, how much more stable can you get though? I think my the rest of my body is overcompensating for that. I don't think so because you already have one more and so and so, just going to tip over with extra. But it has to be used though. It can't be just chilling. I don't know that it works. So, you think that you would be more stable with just 10 toes as opposed to 13? Yes. I don't think it's just like additive that you add a toe, you get x% more stable. I don't know where the st it's like it's not a video game where I'm powering up. I don't know where the stable value ad comes from. That's so linear. Why? Cuz you have more feet to like put on the ground and like keep your like if you're standing on your foot more toes. Huh? Is my foot growing or? Yeah, proportionally. Yeah. Well, that's a different statement because now the foot grows wider than we can talk. We got to have some 13 toe viewers out here, man. They'll let us know. Yeah, I'm sure we have 13 toe viewers. 100%. Let us know. Let us know. How stable are you? Yeah.
All right. Next. Giannis is in the same situation than before he got. That's tough. This is mean. That's mean. I got to just hope it's not the case cuz that is. It's mean. It's mean to Bam. It's It's mean to Bam. Calling him Miles Turner. My bad. Calling him Koosma. Yeah. I so I don't I don't think it's the worst because also even if the players were the same he was being coached by Doc Rivers last year and now Spolster is coaching him. So I it is a better situation hands down. Mhm. And so like you got the Ryan Rollins leap last year. There's going to be two of those this year. They're going to find him in the second round probably. Yeah. They're going to like sacrifice several animals to make them come into existence. Yeah. You got the goat magic on your side now. They doing all all the all the video in Miami. They they know all that. Yes, for sure. Bleeding goats. So when you're bleeding goats in Pat Riley's office, you can't be in the same situation as before. L take looking out for everybody with Tom, bro. They have homeless men just doing back to back to back dribbles, dribbles, triples, triples, dribbles. Can you do something for me? Everybody. Mhm. Who's up next? Ru Hachimura will be an all-star next year. You are aim. That is an original sentence. No one's ever said the sentence. What does he have to do to be an all-star next year? Not not since he was like year one in Washington and Wizards fans were like, "Oh yeah, he's he's going to he's going to pop." Even then, I don't think people were saying Rymore is going to be an all-star next year. I've never heard anyone say that in their entire life. Even as a draft prospect, new senses are being formed never been formed before. Ruy does love a good triple threat though. I'll say that. Yeah, it's like a fake triple threat. He's just going to shoot. Exactly. It's like when Shenon does a pump fake school fall, he just lifts his arm up. Why are you jumping like that? Yeah. Facts. That's really triple threat. Triple threat. You You seen that um Luca Dantis meme where Jos Giddy just was like, it's going to be like that. Looking for passes. L take but W original sentence. It's not a lot of those these days. It's hard to say things that nobody's ever said before. You accomplish that. True. Good for you. W.
All right. Next. Celtics and Sixers will remain in about the same spots next year. Both will have similar regular season performances this year and both will be first or second round exits. That'd be quite the funny outcome if we all just talk about the Jaylen Brown trade and if nothing changes, nobody's moved either way by Jaylen Brown or Paul George. That would be catastrophic for the Sixers. I thought I was a fan. I'd be so disappointed if he just again was like a 44 45 win team and I want that to happen. It's a W take. W take. Walker Kesler will have a breakout season and shine alongside Luca, cementing himself as a top five center in today's NBA. All right. This is too much propaganda. W take. This is too much propaganda. That's a good take. No, I'll guess he's like the eighth or ninth best center. Conservatively. Five is possible. I'm going to guess he's like, "No, this guy's a little bit better than Jared Allen. I mean, that could be like the combo." Who are the five best centers in the league right now? Wim, Joic. Uh, Cat at number three. Bam's there, too. Are we counting Anthony Davis as a center? We can. You wouldn't want to be. He's not in my top five. Begrudgingly, he's probably number four. Bam. Chat. That's like the top. Go. Go Bear. Seven. That's the top tier. Whatever order. Not unordered. Those are the seven elite centers in the league right now. Can he be eight? Man, Sabonis. Oh, he can damn sure be better than Sabonis. Shangon. Can he be as good as Shangon? That's the question. Probably. Yeah, it'll look different for sure. Yeah, but he could probably get there. That level of talent. Yeah. Yeah, that's not top five. That's not the original question here. So, I guess you lose L take, but we're moving it down and saying, can he be in Sabonis talks like the eighth best center? W take. I I can see it happening.
All right. Next. Rui did a whole show Otani and it's awesome. What's that mean? What does that mean? He did he did a reverse? He did a reverse show Otani. What do you think that means? Has something to do with Asians, but I don't. A whole. That was so racist of you. What this means is changing Los Angeles teams. Oh, and you assumed was about Asians. I mean, it's kind of the same thing. What? Is it? It's Asian. D. Not going to sit here and say that Rude not Asian. I mean, it's undeniable. It's It's actually the same thing. It's a Asian changing changing uh LA teams. Where was Showy before he was in Anaheim. He was in the little brother LA team and moved to the Big Brother. But but Rury did the reverse cuz he went from the from the big brother to the little brother. Okay. This is not even how take this just facts. I tried throwing you under the bus. He grabbed you. He saved you. Hell yeah. I tried putting in the limelight, see how you'd react. He didn't want to see that. You got a real ally. It's like all teammates, man. Yep. All right. Next. And it's awesome. It's funny, you know. Yeah. John will be top 20 player. You lost me. John will be a top 20 player again. He's lost the Oh my god. He's I won't look. I won't look. He's lost athleticism. It was very shifty and an amazing lay maker. That's what it says. If he can get to like 50 35 85 splits, I can easily see him leading Portland to a top 60. 50% from the field with his shot diet. Damn. Being generous with the 352. Did he shoot 50 in 2022? I don't think he ever did. That's crazy. If John can be the best he's ever been despite having no athleticism, no burst, and none of the abilities before, he can be all right. Turn from the lowest point of his career. Yeah. His career high is 49.3%. Okay. And and guess what? In that year, he wasn't at the 35 that he just projected. He's at 34. Okay. 85% from the line. He was at 85 either. He's at 76. Yeah, I know. I'm like, yo, he's not at 85%. So, yeah, a career year from John Morant is on the way. Good job. If he can be the best version of himself after falling off, the Trailblazers can be a six seed. Let's get John Morant. Let's get John stock in the building. Apparently, it's going to happen. Yeah. He's now just Shay. We're going broke, man. I'm losing everything. Yeah, that that's the last one. That's the last one. Last thing we got today. We are going to play. You good? Need some water? I'm good. Water. Yeah, that's why I was laughing cuz I knew you were stopping talking, not cuz you couldn't read cuz I saw I saw the throat clamming up and I was like, been there? Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I'm reaching my limits. You go to a doctor at this point. Oh, I forgot your throat still up. I asked you if your throat was good. You said yes. We're We're pretty much there. You lied. I know. Throat's not good. He's still popping cough drops before the show. I know. I like Also, I read cuz my throat was was acting up um this past weekend. You're supposed to eat three cough drops in one sitting. Like the the actual. The serving size is three. Yeah. You're supposed to at once. So, you're supposed to eat one, let it completely dissolve, and then immediately do another one, and then let that dissolve, then immediately do another one. And you're supposed to do that in like six hour increments. I guess that makes sense. Get the, you know, like that's a full dose, 10 minutes of sucking. Yeah. Like I get it like enough coating of medicine. I was shocked though. I was already two seconds. One time, bro. I ate like 20 cop drops in an hour. Sometimes you say things and I just swear to God, I'm bewildered by your existence. I I did it. I believe you. My stomach was in shambles though. I truly believe you. First you ate Zin. Now you ate 20 cops. You eat Zen. I chew it. I don't understand you. My life, man. Wow. Eat zen.
We are going to play NBA Who Am I Teams Edition. All of you have two teams that you're going to put into your headbands and we have to see if we can take turns and guess which team is on our head. You'll have a logo and a year. So, you got to guess the specific version of said team. Year's tough. Okay. The year's tough. You know, you know how we'll do it. We'll try to ask questions. Don't ask directly, is this a 2020s or anything too straightforward. Whatever you need to get to the specific version of a player. I mean, team is straight. Oh, sideways. Wrong. Wrong way. Other way. There you go. You're good, Donovan. Am I good? Yes. Oh, no. Uh, upside down. Completely upside down. There you go. Nobody want to tell me for a second. Everyone switch. I have my eyes closed. Everyone switched up on me. Okay. Why just whistle when I said switched up? That was crazy. Okay. Be souls. Rotate. Switch other way. There you go. Hell yeah. What the Hello. He's struggling. There we go. We're good. There you go. Let me see your out teams. Okay. All right. Donovan, you go first. Who you think you got? Um, is this team one of the more memed teams of all? One of the more meme'd me at the time, maybe. I don't know. It's a popular team. It probably got me'd. It's That phrasing is a little difficult. Probably got me though. Would you call this team a Colt classic? Cult classic. What does that mean? Like, no, it's not a cult classic. I know what it means. It's not a cult classic. Okay. Um, did this team have a top five player in the world at the at the time? Yes. Yes. Top five. Top five. Um, did they have multiple top five players on this team? Debatably. Multiple. Yeah. Good guess. Um, were the were the stars on this team France? No. No. Dang. He said French. Friends. French. Like, Dave, you trying to snipe him? He's got hoops. Typical shot taker. Okay. Um, was there is there a coach one of like the more respected coaches? Hell yeah. Mhm. He said hell yeah. Hell yeah. Uh, let's see. Let's see. Do people hate this team? Yeah. At this point, I think probably yes. Yeah, I would say so. Yeah. Did they Did they win a championship? This team? No. Like this in this singular year now. No. Why you down over there? Uh, breaking the block hot. Is this the 2011 Miami Heat? Nope. Nope. But I will say you're you're on the right lines. Feeling warmer. Gotcha. But it's almost like the reverse of the 2011 Miami Heats. The 2014 Miami Heat. No. No. Not that not that reverse. Too far. Too far. You lost them. You lost them. Took it too literally. Yeah. But that is like closer. All right. So I'm So I'm thinking about let's see a team with two is their best player center. Yes. You kind of have it all now. They're kind of like 2014 Miami Heat. Best player is a center. That's probably the best hint you could possibly get for who this team is. No, I'm losing it. Yeah. Um All right. So they're they did not win a championship this year. Best player is a center. Are they a like uh like a modern NBA team like a like a post 2000s? No. Well, they are post 2000. Yes. This team played when you were born. Gotcha. So, so post 1984. Appreciate it. Um, is this a Eastern Conference team? Nope. No. Western Conference. Best players center. I'm thinking Jokic Shaq um team. Yeah, Jokic Shack teams to but terms of losing in the F did they made the finals? They did make the finals. This the 04 Lakers. Yes, it is the 04 Lakers. There you go. That's probably the most comfortable team to the 2014 Miami Heat. Yeah, pro probably. Yeah. Yeah.
Mo, your turn. All right, let's do it. Um Okay. Did my team have multiple all-stars this specific year? Don't think so. I can't imagine. I don't think so. Okay. Did they have one all-star? Let me check. Maybe. Steen as hell. What you mean maybe? I mean, maybe. It's a complicated It's a complicated subject. Oh my gosh. Who do they have? Let me see. Did any of these guys make the All-Star team that year? Uh, not those guys. Damn. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, it's in there. Um, did this team have a Hall of Fame worthy coach or is he on track for right now if he's still modern? No. This team did have an all-star that year. They have an all-star, but no, not a Hall of Fame coach. Not a Hall of Fame coach. Does this coach still coach today? No. Don't coach today. Uh, is this a 2010s team? Yes, it is. Mhm. Okay. Okay. Okay. Uh, did this team win the draft lottery? No. No. Hell no. Actually, no. Hell no. They good though. It's a sore subject. Very sore. [ __ ] stings actually. Oh, what do you mean by that? I wouldn't even call it a sore subject. I call it like a gaping wound. Whoa. Not even like a gunshot. Like you got shot with like a bazooka. Whoa. Okay, so this team like should have won it then. like ruptured your spleen with one punch. Ah, so they didn't win the draft lottery at all. Okay. Um, does this team No Allstars? No draft lottery. One allar. [ __ ] One allar. Oh, one allstar. One allstar. Okay. I'm assuming this is a Eastern Conference team. Why? Sure. I don't know why you assume that, but why? Okay. I'm right. Cool. It's 50/50 chance. I don't know. The gamble was a life thing. That's not a good basis for this. You also could just ask the question. Yeah. No, but I wanted I wanted to be confident though. And guess what? It worked. It did work this time. You got to give it to him. Okay. Terrible logic, but it worked. Damn. 2010s didn't make didn't go ahead and win the draft lottery. Okay. Did this team make the playoffs this year? Yes. Yes. Oh, okay. Cool. Would you say this team is like was built modernly right now? Would they be able to survive in the pace and space era? I mean, they wouldn't be good. Would they be like an abomination? No, I guess. But they wouldn't be good. Is this player top this player on this team who made an all-star team? Is he a top 30 player of all time? [ __ ] no. [ __ ] no. No. Not the guy Not the guy that made the All-Star team. No. Not the guy who made the All-Star team. Yeah, that's that's what I'm going to Okay. Was he okay? Does their colors have red in it? Nope. Nope. No. Does it have yellow in it? Nope. No red. No yellow. Does I HAVE ORANGE? NOPE. [ __ ] WHO IS THIS TEAM? OKAY. Did they win the finals this year? What? Absolutely not. Okay. I don't think anything we've said has has inspired positivity. They made the playoffs. That's positive. Had an all-star, which is cool. A majority of the league does. Is this the mid-2010s? About that. Yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. And they don't have a top 30 player of all time. Not the Mid All-Star team that year. Notice I'm choosing my words carefully. Wait, say it again. Nope. You talked too fast. I was I didn't know what the [ __ ] you said. Yeah, I said it about three times. Okay. Somebody get this guy a manual. Someone give me a map. Okay. Mattress. Could this be let's say the 2015 Hawks? No, but you're close. Yeah. You're close. Think about bigger disasters in that similar time period. Bigger disasters. Oh, I gave you a hand. It's a disaster. There you go. On that same time period. [ __ ] One Allstar. Um, this is not the Celtics. Can't be. Nope. But listen, man. That's a funny That's a funny answer, though. Parallels are drawn to life. Was this the Brooklyn Nets? Which one? Which one? 2013, I assume. 2014 Brooklyn Nets. 2014. Okay. Close. Not the Celtics, but Life's About Parallels. Wait, who was the All-Star? Kevin Garnett. Joe Johnson. [ __ ] Joe Johnson with the All-Star. I was like, either Joe or Dw. Yeah, but yeah, Joe made it. All right. Uh, okay. Is my NBA team a legendary defense? No. No. No. Is my NBA team a legendary anything? Yes. Yeah. In its own right. Yes. In its own right. Mhm. You can never make that team again, I think. So, whatever they have, you can't take it from You literally can't. It's impossible. Somebody dead. No. No. No one. That would make it impossible. Uh, you literally can't. Okay. So, the mechanisms aren't allowed anymore. Um, for the context, yes. Okay. Does my NBA team have two plus legends on it? Yes. Yes. Okay. Multiple alltime great. Uh, they're they're they're good players, but they give to him. Okay. So, is James Harden on this team? No. Is Joel Embiid on this team though? No. Okay. Trying to think of guys he might not want to call legends. I know. Trying to think of some guys he might think are bums. Neon, right? Yeah. They're they're on that line though. Like they're they're good players, but yeah. It's a tough line. That's all you got. Are they legends because they won a championship? No. No. Hell, they didn't win. I was thinking the 24 Celtics, but no, they didn't. Hell no. They didn't win. Mm-m. But they're legends. Yeah. But they definitely didn't win. Correct.
