Welcome to another episode of Out of the Pods. I'm Deep Tea.
And I'm Natalie. And happy Wednesday.
You guys, the lesson of the day is your bad choices will always catch up to you. Whether it's in your soul or it plays out in the public stage. Prime example, the Coldplay concert affair. This has gone worldwide and for good reason. I just cannot believe that this CEO was exposed in this way. And I just have to say karma is real. No one can tell me it's not. If you guys haven't seen this clip, you have to go see it. I mean, I'd be shocked if you haven't seen it because it is literally everywhere. I think my grandma even knows about it. This CEO of this company is caught having an affair with the chief people officer, chief HR officer of the company at a Coldplay concert. And so, you know, at concerts how they like pan to the fans in the crowd? Well, they panned to the CEO and the chief people officer and he is hugging her from the back and it's very romantic and then they look up at the jumbotron and they're like, "Oh my god, we're we're on camera and they have this like crazy reaction like he bends down and hides and she turns her back and like runs away at some point and the Coldplay lead singer is all like, "Oh, what?" Like everything's okay. Wait, are they having an affair? Like he legit calls it out and then this clip goes viral and people find out who these two people are and they realize yes they are having an affair. Like these people are married to other people, have kids with other people and they're having a workplace affair and got caught. Honestly, the audacity. But if they would have just had a normal reaction and just like played it off or like did a dance or something, this would not have been a big deal. But the fact that their body language and their mannerisms, they knew they were doing something wrong.
Oh yeah, 100%.
And immediately their instant gut reaction was to hide. So you're like, "Yep, you know that they're doing something bad."
You know, they got a little cocky with this affair and they're like, "Yeah, let's go to a Coldplay concert." And isn't that the whole thing? Like I feel like in life if you continue to make bad choices or you're doing something wrong and you're doing it over and over again so your confidence is building and like you have the mindset, oh, I'm not going to get caught. That's precisely the moment you get caught.
100%. When you're not being careful enough, like at some point if you're doing something bad, a mistake is going to be made.
Oh yeah. It's going to catch up to you. And I just want to say like karma does its thing. Like it is literally the universe being petty and it makes me so happy. I don't even know if they have a prenup or not, but I hope that wife gets every last penny of his.
Oh, 100%.
And it's like I just I just can't believe this person would have the balls to take like their mistress to a Coldplay concert. Like there's thousands and thousands of people in that arena. So the fact that they were so confident that they wouldn't get caught or that nobody would see them is like okay you're you need to be brought down a level if the universe and its workings exist. I feel like this was exposed in this way because their spouses would have never found out that an affair was taking place.
Because like think about it like if my husband was a CEO and when there's like long meetings at work, you know, with a CEO and the chief HR/ people officer, no one's thinking anything of it.
Yeah. I honestly think about this all the time, but I bet you there is so many office affairs. Well, I feel like the fact she was in HR, I would think as his wife, she's HR. Like, she would never commit an HR violation, especially not as the chief HR officer. I like I would have no idea.
I I don't I feel like though I wonder if their spouses knew something was happening and this was like the last and this was like the camel that broke the
It's the straw that broke the camel's back.
Yes, that's the one. I wonder if they knew something was happening, but they just didn't have the evidence and now they do.
Yeah, because I feel like out of all the types of affairs you can have. Yeah. I feel like one of the easiest is to have a workplace affair because like you don't have to text, right? Like you are a lot of people spend a lot of time at work.
Yeah. They're sending team messages.
You could Exactly. You could you could be sending things over Slack that are like kind of coded like, "Hey, want to have this meeting?" You know, you could cover up your calendar. You could go on lunch breaks together.
Exactly. Go get coffee. I understand why workplace affairs happen because you're spending more time at work than you are at home. So, I get it. But it is no excuse to for this bad behavior.
I'm so glad that this affair is going viral. Though, I do feel very sad for their children cuz that if these were my parents, I'd be like, "Oh my god." Like, I want to hide in a hole forever. Like, thanks mom and dad for like literally embarrassing me.
Yeah. Now I'm gonna be known as the the CEO's child who cheated. Come on.
If I was really trying to make it in the like the influencer world, I would definitely be making Tik Toks.
Yeah. Just make a Tik Tok. I'd be like, "My dad's a cheater."
You're like me trying to recover after my dad got exposed.
Literally, I'd be pumping out five Tik Toks a day and I was like, "There's got to be an upside to this." What's crazy is I've actually seen random people posting that they're the children of the CEO's couples and they're all fake. Like people are just capitalizing on it even though they're not the children. So I'm like great, cool.
No, I I love that look. I wish I could but people are going to be like no you're not.
Yeah. They're like they're like were you adopted?
Yeah. Like I don't when did you Weren't you from Love is Blind? The thing that sucks about cheating is that it's not illegal, right? But it's such a hurtful act.
Yeah. Like it's horrible.
Infidelity is a sin.
Yeah. Like it's So I do love that it's like people are reacting so harshly to this cuz it's like it shows
this is a horrible thing to do
even though you can't really like
legally get in trouble for it.
Yeah. I mean I mean he is going to be legally in trouble in his marriage.
I hope his wife takes him to the dry cleaners like just squeezes him of money.
Absolutely.
She deserves it. How do people get to this point where they make this many bad choices? Like you felt comfortable enough going to a concert? Like that's insane. That's no longer an affair. That's a relationship.
So in terms of what happened next, so the CEO resigned recently. Um, which actually took a really long time. Like I I was like that should have been immediate. The moment that clip went viral, like you should have been gone, but I guess he tried to hold on. Like who knows? But I think he's gonna be paid out uh like a substantial sum is what people are saying online. And people are like, "He doesn't deserve it." But I'm like, "Good. At least there's more that his wife can take from him." Okay.
Wait, I love that petty.
Yeah. I was like, "Good. Pay him out so she could take more of that during the divorce proceedings."
Also, the chief people officer or the chief HR officer, she's married to another CEO. Like, they just bought like a $2.2 million house together. I saw that
and I was like, "Oh, well,
like,
guess you're moving out."
I'm just confused by the mentality of cheating on one hand, but then on the other hand, you're literally buying million-dollar properties together and you're like thinking about your future with your husband. Like, that's crazy.
No, that's She's just collecting CEOs.
Literally, she has a she has a type in. I would say it's CEOs. That's crazy. And I was like, I wish that was my type, too. Actually,
that I feel like that is our type. It's just where are they? But clearly, this just proves, do all CEOs cheat? I'm just kidding. I'm sure they don't. But I don't know. I feel like the the probability of a CEO cheating is high because the of the ego that comes with it.
I mean, I don't know. This is one example. I suppose there's not a lot. There's not a lot of CEOs in the world. So
all it takes is one example for me and it's like imprinted in my brain now and I'm like nope no CEOs for me.
No like I don't know this woman but I kind of hate her.
Yeah.
But I was like two CEOs like that's a power move.
Yeah. I was like wow.
In this day and age I feel like social media is such a big thing. Like there was just this random girl who was like recording in that moment and it ended up like going viral. But it's insane to me how many people probably got away with affairs back in the day when social media wasn't so big. It was probably so easy to cheat.
I was going to ask you cuz you've been cheated on. I've been cheated on twice. You always get an inkling.
Oh, absolutely.
Like you have this like weird feeling like something has shifted.
I feel like when the partners of cheaters feel a shift, it's less of like our intuition though it is our intuition, like our gut feeling, but more so like their mistakes are now catching up with them, you know? like they can't cover it up anymore. Like they are [ __ ] up slowly.
I feel like the lies compound over time and it's hard to keep your story straight. And not only that, but it's like the small behaviors that you notice that they do differently. Like for example, when my ex cheated on me, he would all of a sudden put his phone facing down, which was really odd. And I clocked it. And he used to do it so often. And there's other things like the energy just shifts. Those are the things like you look for the behaviors and the patterns they change and you can see the shift.
Oh, with New York Boy, he was being really weird with his phone.
And when I called it out, I was like, "You're being really weird with your phone." And I was like, "I just" And he's like, "No, I'm not." And then he tried to like fix his behavior by being less weird with it, but then it was just like I was like, "Oh my gosh, like something's something's up. Something's up." And I didn't suspect cheating at first.
Mhm.
But then obviously when I had like this ringing in my head that he was absolutely cheating, it was like a a huge data point. Like I was like, "Oh, it all makes sense."
A huge data point. I love that.
I feel like that's what you have to do. Every time I've gotten cheated on, every time
I feel like you first have to sit back and observe. Like you have to gather data points. Absolutely. Like I never address when things feel off. I was like I have to wait a few weeks and just like I have to be like he's doing this thing differently and he's you know like I feel this way. And I feel like that's when you know you have to gather data points.
Oh, absolutely. I feel like because I was in such a long-term relationship, I didn't want to throw it away based on just like a hunch. So I needed actual evidence before I could do anything. There was probably like a month of time where I was like, "Oh my gosh, like is he actually doing it? Is it just in my head?" You like kind of gaslight yourself. Yeah. A little bit into and talk yourself out of it cuz you're like, "No, no, no, no." Like you don't want it to end or you're just trying to
or you want to see the good.
Yeah. You want to see the good, but most of the time they're just being bad. So
yeah. No. If you know you're doing something bad, if you know you're making a mistake, actually I don't even want to call it a mistake. If you know you're doing something intentionally that's hurting someone you love or you're doing something with like ill intent, I truly believe you will get caught. Whether it's the way it impacts your soul, but I like truly believe like some way it's going to impact you very negatively.
Absolutely. I wholeheartedly believe that because even when I do something where I'm like, "Oh, that doesn't resonate with who I am." If you continue going down that path, something will happen to make you get back on the right path. And no matter how much you try to run away from the choices that you make, they are always going to compound and weigh you down until you make a mistake. It's inevitable for you to make a mistake when you're doing something wrong.
I agree. It's going to it's going to find you some way. Look, the men who have cheated on me, I have not really kept up with them, but I'll do like a little check-in, you know, like I'll take a look at the social media or just like, I don't know, ask a friend like what's going on. Have you seen them?
They've all become crusty ass men.
It's also the way we view them, too.
No, like No, I know. I'll look at them and be like, "Oh my gosh."
Like all your [ __ ] mistakes caught up with you and I see it physically.
Oh, totally.
And your crustiness.
Yes. And as soon as they do something, you just get the most immediate ick and you're like, "Oh my gosh, I cannot believe." And then all the whole window and the doors are all open and you see right through that person. Everything just starts making sense and clicking. You're like, "I'm not crazy."
This is this was the reality of this. I really do look back and I'm like, hm. You know, this is a good example. My boyfriend from like, wow, it's been probably eight years since we dated now. I'll like just look at his public Instagram page like once every few years. Like, I'll just take tabs.
I love that you said public.
And um I saw like a couple of years ago that he got engaged to the girl he cheated on me with. I was like, "Okay, like whatever. Maybe like it was meant to be." Mhm.
And then they ended their engagement and like he like spiraled and she's like living her best life cuz she also has a public Instagram. So like you know keeping tabs on both you know your rotation like the roster where you like you have to check on these people every couple of like months or years.
I'm not going to say it's healthy but you know you're just like it's curiosity. You're just like you know I just just curious like where you ended up in life.
I don't know. It just I was like it kind of made me feel good.
Yeah. I wish I could say the same because I haven't creeped on my ex in a while, but he got married to the person he told me not to worry about. And I was like, "Wow, that just that's like a dagger in the heart and a twist of the knife, you know,
the ex who cheated on.
Yeah. And I was like, "No." But also, thank you for taking him away because he was terrible.
Is he looking a little crusty?
Absolutely.
Cuz of all those mistakes compounding in his soul.
Exactly. It's like sucking the youth out and now he's like a crusty old man who doesn't wear sunscreen.
You know, speaking of the energy thing, can I just say if you're with the wrong person, you become less attractive. Let me elaborate on that, but if you look at pictures of yourself and how much of an energy vampire like your partner can be, if they're the wrong person for you, you will literally physically get less attractive. It is. I'm telling you, every time I've been with the wrong person, they have taken all of my like good aura, if that makes sense.
No, I've had my best glow-ups after after ending relationships with a toxic people.
And I think that's the theory of why people have glow-ups after breakups because they're getting their energy back finally and they're cutting the the ties. And I swear to you, I think that's a real thing.
Yeah, I agree. Listen, I used to dread making doctor's appointments because you got to do your research on who to go to, check which doctors are in network, and then you have to see if their availability works for you. Like, it's a very big time-consuming task. There were times where I'd have an overdue annual checkup that was like 3 years in the making. But with Zockdoc, I know I can book easily today. Zock makes it easy to find the right doctor right now. And it's all online. You probably will be able to book an appointment before the end of this ad. I use ZDOC for practically all of my doctor's appointments. You know what's kind of crazy is I feel like Netflix is putting out a bunch of shows just like backtoback. Like for example, you've got Perfect Match season 3 coming out August 1st
and then Love is Blind UK season 2 coming out August 13th. And then you've got Love is Blind US season 9. Oh my gosh. Season Yeah.
Which is going to be Denver based.
Yeah. Denver. And I think it's October 1st.
Yeah. But don't you feel like that's just like a lot happening at once?
A lot. Like what? They're just packing it into the second half of the year, which is kind of good for us because we can recap, but also Yeah. Yeah, it's a lot of Love is Blind or a lot of Netflix.
I know people are like, "Well, Love is Blind UK is more of like the international version cuz you've got like, you know, the other Love is Blind international versions, but I feel like the Love is Blind UK version is promoted by the main
Love is Blind Netflix Instagram page that it's kind of, you know, it's like now being seen as
kind of part of like the Love is Blind US world.
I in my head it's all the same. It's like all the same. Maybe it's because English is the main language for both of um those versions of Love is Blind. So
yeah, and I feel like also Love is Blind UK of all the international ones is probably the most popular too.
I think for like the Yeah, for the US crowd.
For the US crowd, but I uh yeah, there's a lot coming out, but like the concept is the exact same. And it does get a little redundant, so we'll see how it actually how it actually plays out.
Yeah. So, my thing is the fact that Love is Mine UK is coming out like right after Perfect Match season 3 signals to me like Perfect Match season 3. Like they know it's not going to be like an amazing season. That is my prediction. Who knows? I've also heard rumblings from the cast and they're like, uh, it's
like they're like our season's okay.
Interesting. if if it's coming from the cast, you know,
but I saw the trailer for Perfect Match season 3
and like I know there was a bunch of rumblings being like, you know, Olly did something to AD and they're going to change his edit because AD is pregnant u and they're engaged, but the trailer shows like Ali does something a little sketchy and AD's yelling at him about it. So, I think they might actually like not edit him as well as people were saying they're going to.
Yeah. And there's only so much they can edit anyways. And I feel like if there is drama in a show, they're not going to protect anyone. Like they are playing that drama. You know what I mean? Like
if it's juicy drama, I feel like they're gonna play. Maybe they'll downplay it because I have heard of like big things that happened in previous perfect match seasons and it's completely edited out and the cast is like
they definitely protected someone.
Oh, interesting.
You know, so
yeah, you just you just never know. I feel like they can only protect people so much, but it really is dependent on the other story lines cuz they don't want to have a flop season. So, if they have the footage, they're probably going to use it.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Yeah. So, Oh, interesting. I think it's going to be weird watching knowing that Ad and Olly are currently engaged and together and having a baby together and then like watching them like meet for the first time like I was like so much time has passed it just like doesn't make sense. And I also feel like the cast on Perfect Match season 3 like based on their social media activity you kind of already know what happens. Like for example, one person from the cast is pregnant and like has been actively like showing it on social media on our social media pages and you're like okay I feel like the producers need to take a lesson from Love Island because they are literally putting out episodes like the next day after they film. So they need to make the turnaround much quicker because people lose interest and it just is not relevant anymore by the time the show comes out. Like why do they keep doing that?
So
it's taking too long.
I don't think but I just feel like they won't ever be able to do that. I don't know how the back end works for Netflix, but I feel like it's very common that there's this, you know, this lag time by the time a show finishes filming and the time it premieres. Yeah.
Because I think it has to fit into their schedule.
Yeah. And also I
Netflix's show schedule.
Yeah. And I feel like um it really does depend on the platform that they're releasing it to. Like obviously Netflix has so many hit shows, not just in the reality TV space. Like in scripted series, Love Island is like Peacock's biggest show. So obviously they're going to prioritize it. I do feel like because of all the Love is Blind seasons, but also the international versions, it's becoming like very redundant and it's losing its like shine. I know we always talk about that like it's becoming like the Bachelor franchise where you know the peak is done like it's gone like
I feel like that's kind of happening to Love is Blind. I'm very curious what like season 9 is going to bring but I feel like the last few seasons since season 6 it's lost that like appeal. Yeah,
because well the format never changes and I don't think it can
because for at least for the US crowd this year alone there's two US versions plus one UK which a lot of US people are going to watch. So it it just feels like
I don't know what's the word like just so it's truly it's been done before and obviously every single person is unique and has their own story but eventually it just gets boring because you've seen it all. I know. I hate saying that because obviously that's where Deept and I came from. We were born
from the from Love is Blind.
Yeah. It's about blood.
I like Yeah. It just It's
Yeah. I'm not going to lie. I'm really excited for Denver, though, because I've always wanted to live in Denver. I My brother lived in Denver, so I visited a lot. I'm just really excited to see like what kind of dates they have.
Oh, I bet it'll be so cool.
It's going to be so gorgeous. How many people are going to do camping and like Oh, I love a good
I
I love camping. I am such a nature girly.
You like camping?
I love camping. I literally used to camp with my ex all the time. We used to set up hammocks and sleep on the hammocks. Like, not even in a tent sometimes.
I know. Who am I? No, I love it.
Here's my thing. I just feel like I use the bathroom so often in the middle of the night. Please don't diagnose me with anything. I was just going to say also you can just use nature. It's literally a bear.
I just I need like a toilet.
I feel you,
you know. And I feel like in the middle of the night, like I've gone camping before in Yellowstone, which is crazy.
Gorgeous.
Thankfully, they had like an actual bathroom like on the campground,
but you would have to walk 10 minutes in the dark like with your flashlight passing other people's tents.
Yeah.
You would really enjoy a glamping situation.
I don't think I'd even enjoy glamping. I just need a straight up hotel room. There's so many beautiful homes, cabins. You would I could do a cabin. You could do a cabin. You would.
Yeah. I'm just saying I can't do like an actual I'm not camping. Like I'm not going in a tent. I also think safety wise I was like anyone could just open that, you know, tent door.
I'm like
a bear is just coming through. Hey,
I don't know. Just sounds like a risk to me.
It is. It is. Um I do have to say I'm watching a show currently and there's murders happening in this national forest. So I'm with you on that. It's not the the most safe space, but
imagine Wait, imagine for Love is Blind Denver though, their shared apartment is like a shared tent.
Oh, I would die. They just get like a giant glamping literally
and they're all connected.
I was like, "No one's getting married." Like 100%.
Oh my gosh. I wonder where they'll do weddings.
That makes me so excited. Wow. They better go into the mountains. Go to Veil. Breen Ridge.
No, they're not doing that. The budget isn't that big.
I don't know. It's season nine.
Exactly.
Yeah, it's not season 10. If it was season 10, they're getting the best weddings ever.
They'll be like, "Our 10-year anniversary. Let's ignore that." Like, six couples have already divorced, but like happiness. They're like, "We don't focus on the breakups. We focus on love."
For season 9, there's already been a leak that um of like the two people who get married.
Oh, is it only one couple? I don't know, but there's a couple that was leaked. I don't know if they're the only one or they're one of many. Yeah.
But,
you know, I'm surprised that not more couples accidentally like show that they're together,
but I guess everyone's a stranger at this point, but
yeah. Well, I was going to say the leak, it didn't really go anywhere. Like the TikTok about it only got like 500 likes and everyone's like, "Who cares? Find out by the time the season comes out." The public doesn't know who these people are. So, they don't really they're not really invested at this point
for season 8, which was in who what city?
Oh, Charlotte. No. Uh DC. It was DC, right?
Washington DC.
No, it wasn't.
Oh, it was the Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. No,
it was the guy, the skater boy. He's definitely not from DC. Um, we just talked about Joey. Um, where does he look like he's from? Minnesota.
Minnesota.
They all look like they're from Minnesota. I was like, I knew it was one of those, but
I wasn't even thinking I was singing.
As soon as you said skater boy,
um, well, that season,
yes,
conclusion that season,
the latest season, you remember there's a bunch of pictures of them like having the bachelorette and bachelor parties and then the women standing outside of a bridal shop. Pictures of that was leaked before season 8 came out and I remember like no one cared.
Yeah. Like everyone's like, "Okay." And then I actually went back to look at those leaked photos, specifically the picture where the women are standing outside of a bridal shop and you see like Monica, you see Sarah.
Um, and so yeah, no, I I think unfortunately like I don't think people really care until
and even then I feel like viewership is just
they it's it's like dying a little.
Yeah. But regardless, I'm very excited and we're excited to recap. Obviously, we'll be recapping Perfect Match season 3. Um, and then Love is Blind UK and Love is Blind US. So, full docket coming up.
Can I just say I'm really proud of you for remembering all the dates because I was listening to you spew them off earlier and I was like, how the f do you remember?
No. One thing about etched in your brain.
Look, I don't remember a lot of things, but I'll remember the big things.
Yeah. You're like, the dates got them clocked.
No, I'll remember the dates. So, one thing about me is like when it comes to Love is Blind, I just like remember a lot.
You do retain that information though. Meanwhile, mine's like in through one year, out the other.
If you asked me, give me a recap of what happened with Lydia, Milton, Aaliyah, and Uch from Love is Mine season 5. I could tell you
I could tell you the gist.
I feel like past season 3, that one's a hard one for me. Okay, so I saw this Tik Tok where this man was proposing and it was like in a public place. There was like multiple people, probably like 60 to 70 people watching in Paris and the girl genuinely looked a little terrified. Like walked up to him and then ran off into the crowd like the girl he was proposing to.
Yes. And she just like runs off. And this kind of triggered something in my brain like okay I have to ask you when you get proposed to one
I already did and so did you don't forget it.
Not me being like would you want it to be a public proposal but we did it on
national like literally not even national worldwide TV
international worldwide bish worldwide. It's Mr. Worldwide.
I was just going to say that you're like Mr. world or what?
Um,
but like would you be comfortable with a public proposal?
No.
Right.
Wait, wait, let me think about this. Would I be comfortable with a p Okay, actually I would be okay with a public proposal if he like we were talking about getting engaged.
Okay, that's my other followup. Like it is honestly necessary, right, that couples talk about getting married before your partner just, you know, pops the question.
I think that's a red flag if he's like, "Surprise." Like,
yeah,
I'm proposing. Like, I feel like you have to talk about it and make sure like both of you are on the same page about getting engaged.
Completely agree.
If it's a surprise, I feel like that's actually a red flag. Like you there's no conversations prior except for like little silly, you know, goose ones.
Yeah. Like you know when you'll say like I'm going to marry you like and you don't really mean it
but like you have to have an actual conversation. How do you feel about talking about rings beforehand? Like do you would you want your partner to just pick out your ring for you or would you like kind of throw some subtle hints here and there of what you're looking for?
No, I would straight up tell him. I'd be like, "This is my Pinterest board."
Yes, Exactly.
And this is the exact ring I want.
See, I
don't like veer off too far from like what I want.
Yes. I honestly I feel like I wouldn't be so direct with it, but there will be signs. I will be buying magazines of wedding things and I will be putting them everywhere.
Magazines.
I will literally buy magazines. I
I will for this occasion.
This is how I would do it. I would tell you exactly what I wanted. Like a picture of the ring, the settings, everything like this is what I want.
And also I would tell you this is what I don't want.
And then I would send my boyfriend to you. I'd be like talk to DeepD.
She'll tell you what you need to do. Absolutely. Or I'll be like sending him reals online be like, "Look how pretty this is." Because I feel like one thing about guys is if you give them too much freedom to choose something out for you, you know, like sometimes I just feel like they go overboard.
Yeah. Exactly. And honestly, I I just feel like why leave it up to them. They're not the ones wearing it constantly. Like I don't want something too. I have little hands. Like, you know, I just need something that that fits perfectly.
Exactly. And like I don't want a 5 karat that's going to like my I'm going to get arthritis,
you know? Like it's just true.
Like I don't want that.
Yeah. Yeah. It's going to weigh me down.
I was like, "Sorry, I need something smaller."
Yeah. Also, like I'm not trying to be subject to like thieves.
Yeah. Like I was like I don't want to be robbed.
Not at all. Not at all.
I was like I want a booger size bring. Okay. When I saw this video though, the girl looked genuinely terrified. And it like just literally sparked something in me and I was like, why are people not talking about marriage before proposing? And it's just like such a backwards mentality thinking that the man has complete control over
exactly like when you're going to reach the next stage of your life. Like no, like talk to your partner and see if she's ready for it. I feel like there's like two reasons why she would run. One, she's getting a panic attack. Like she's like, "Okay, too many people like I feel a lot of pressure right now. I just like can't do this." Or two, she's just like, "What the fuck?"
Yeah.
Actually, there's a third reason and it's like, "I want this to go viral."
That's true. I wonder
people do anything for a little viral video.
Yeah. Because his response afterwards, he was just like being over the top. And you know what? I don't even care if it was fake because I still am curious about the proposal situation.
Wait, it's actually really funny. So, she's running away, but she has to go up like these flights of stairs. And she's like like why not? And I was like, there's a lot of directions you could have gone, but you had to go up these flights of stairs that are like slowing you down. She's like like going up. And I was like, you know,
that's an immediate flight or flight response. And she's like, I got to get the f out of here. I don't care which way I'm going, I'm going.
If you propose to someone and they ran away, I feel like that's it's over.
Oh, 100%. Just don't even call her.
Yeah. Like
like the L.
Yep. Dunzo.
Yeah.
Watch her come back and be like, "I'm sorry. I just got stage frightened. I actually want to be with you."
No. I know.
That's why
I don't think I could take her back. I'd be like, you know, I don't know. Sorry.
Yeah. You should know your partner better and understand what she would like.
For poties who are engaged, who have gotten proposed to, like, did you tell your partner how you wanted to be proposed to? I guess not exactly, but like were did you specify like you want it to be a private moment or you want you know your partner to do something big? Did you tell your partner about the type of ring you wanted or did you give them like free reign? Like I'm very curious because I feel like for me the normal way is to to tell your partner like I want it to be a private moment or if you are okay with it being a public proposal and like the time frame you want it to happen like it's going to happen within the next few months.
Yeah.
Because you also have to have your nails ready.
Yeah.
You know like maybe she ran away cuz she's like, "Oh my god, I didn't even get my nails done."
Yeah.
Like, you know, like I got to go get a manicure. Like they're bare right now.
I Okay, here's my thing. I think like having a conversation about when is important and I think potentially also ring but honestly I'm not like huge on the ring thing like I feel like he can have some freedom with it.
Let's say you wanted a princess cut diamond.
Mhm.
And he got you like an ovalshaped emerald.
Yeah. I
you'd be okay with it.
I think it really just depends in the moment. Here's my thing. I feel like a proposal is so important because it tells you so many signs about your partner. I don't want to tell them how to do it and where to do it because that is the test. Do you know me? Do you have we had convos? Like I want it to be a surprise because it's going to say so much about my partner and how much he listens to me.
Okay. But can I tell you as your best friend? I don't even know how you want to be proposed to. If your boyfriend came to me and was like, "How should I propose to Deep D?"
I'd be like, "You need to create a flower wall."
No.
That says, "Dep please marry me."
You know, I love to travel. It needs to be a destination proposal.
It needs to be in Chicago.
No.
In front of the lake and it better be a scavenger hunt. I was like, "Take that [ __ ] all over the city." I did I did see a couple getting engaged on a boat on the river and it was really pretty.
I saw that too.
I was like that's gorgeous. But do I want it to happen there? No. Because we're always on the boat.
Yeah. Cuz you I feel like Sure. You would say like my partner has to know me. But like men don't listen.
No, they he better listen. That's a quality we are looking for. And I feel
cuz what would you what maybe he's listening now. What do you want? Why don't you just straight up tell him?
Honestly, it's just so relationship dependent. Like what if like we had significant moments somewhere or like he told me I love you for the first time in a certain spot and that's where he proposes. Like there's just so many like romantic sentiments that I just don't know what my future could look like. It could go anywhere.
I don't know much about men. But one thing I know about men is sometimes I feel like you just need to tell them.
You're right. Sometimes you do need to tell. And I will tell him I feel like certain things, but there's also other things I'm like, "No, I want to be surprised. is I want to see how thoughtful you are.
Actually, that's kind of true because I feel like my partner would know that he has to at least set up a camera.
Yeah.
Like because I love videotaping private moments. Not like that, but like you know, like things that happen like I don't know when I'm with my cousins and we're laughing or when when I'm with my grandfather and we're just having lunch. Like I like I like videotaping those moments to like watch them back. Like I like remembering how young I was in the moment or what that moment felt like. So I guess I would want my partner to know like yeah you have to videotape that so that we can look back on that one day or children can look back on that one day and we have that like memorialized.
But I don't think he'd know like I don't want it to just be like you know like we're sitting on the couch he's like remember me.
That's when I was like yeah
absolutely not. I feel like I learned a lot from my brother proposing and my sister-in-law likes nice things, you know, like she it needed to be nice and I feel like he knew that and the way he set it up was so perfect and so like surprising.
But did she tell him like how she wanted it?
No, not at all.
Just like propose to me however.
I think they did talk about rings obviously, but that was pretty much it. but he did it in such a romantic way and he told her that it was going to be like her friend was taking her to some like um NFL fundraiser event so she had to dress up and look nice. I remember on that day she was just like, "Oh, just like throw on something." And we're like, "No, no, no, no. You should put this on." And so we're like trying to convince her otherwise. And then he had all of her friends and family line up in a row and he was waiting with their dog at the end and every single one of us handed her a rose. So by the end she had like a bouquet of flowers and then he got down on one knee.
But would you want to be proposed that way?
I don't know. Yes. I think it was so pretty and just having all your family.
Do you think that like the man who wants to propose to you will know that's how you want to be proposed to?
I think so. I feel like
well then the way I thought you want to is very often. Do I even know you?
No. Here's the thing though. I think it's so situational cuz you can find the romance in a lot of situations. There's a lot of proposal ideas that could be very romantic and beautiful, you know? So, I'm like not honed in on one thing.
Yeah.
Like I'm not very specific on like you got to do it this way. It's more over I want this type of ring because I'm going to be wearing it forever.
But that's where I draw the line. I think
I will say when it comes to the ring, I'm not particular, but I just want something so simple and not big.
Yeah. I don't like showy.
Yeah. I don't like showy just because, you know, I'm such a scaredy-cat. Like I'm not trying to get like, you know, like robbed,
dude. and I am the worst ever, but I lose everything.
Buy me something where like you'll be okay if I lose it and you we won't be having a panic attack.
Or it's like get insurance on the ring 100%.
I feel like we could go all day with this, but I want our pot besties to tell us like when you got engaged, did you know it was happening around the time that it actually happened? Did you and your partner talk about it? Did you guys talk about the ring and how you would like to be proposed to? Like I I just want to know like what's like the I don't want to say right thing, but
what's the non-controlling way to go about it?
Yeah. And more so like what are the tactics you use to kind of plant the seed in your partner's brain of how you want things to happen? Because I feel like every woman is so different. They're going to want different things.
I need to know more of like the tactics used to get what you want.
Literally, please send us a DM. But speaking about DMs, I got so many DMs from all of you on how you guys met your partners.
I would say the majority said like through a dating app. They were like,
"Yep,
download a dating app. Like, take a chance." So, I did it. I'm on multiple.
Yeah. Good thing I'm on none now.
Oh,
we're on different different paths.
We're just on different levels. I already had one, but the one that I was on, like you can't filter by location. So, I was matching with people from like different cities and
that's hard.
That's how I met the guy who lived in a different state. And I was just like, I don't think long distance that's just not in my cards right now. Like, I don't think I could do it again. After New York Boy, I downloaded another one, Hinge, which obviously could like filter people by city. But anyways, I got it and I'll keep you guys updated. I'm on a little hinch adventure.
Let's go. I love it for you.
I met all of my exes organically. So, I was like, I, you know, I'm just going to try it. I'm going to use it as like a real way to meet someone instead of just like, you know, like swiping just cuz.
Yeah. Honestly, I need to be convinced by you more because every time I do the dating app thing, I just get so deterred from it. I'm just like, gh I don't like it. I don't want it. But anyways, thank you Pod besties for sending us all the DMs. We love you.
And make sure you leave a review and subscribe. See you next Wednesday. Bye. [Applause] [Music]
