Transcription

Other than motion committee meeting July 21st, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Let's all stand for the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Secretary would take the attendance, please.

Commissioner Plumbley. Here.

Commissioner Lawler. Here.

Commissioner Yes. Commissioner Hall. Here.

Commissioner Douglas. Here. We're all here.

All righty. We've all seen the agenda. We have any amendments or we going to approve it as it is? There was one error that I noted when I passed it to Michael that I put the same item in old business and new business. So I have struck it from new business.

Oh, okay. The open position for the AMP commission that's in both places.

Yeah. Right. We're going to approve the agenda as amended.

Approve.

We got a somebody make a motion.

Make a motion. Make a motion we approve the minutes as or the agenda as amended.

Okay.

All in favor?

I. I. I.

All righty. Approval of the June uh 2nd, 2025 regular meeting minutes.

I move we approve the minutes from June 2nd, 2025 meeting.

I'll second it.

All in favor?

I. I.

All right, everybody's seen the financials for May and June. Any questions over them?

If need be, we can call uh Tabitha if she can walk through us through it with us. She just had an emergency and couldn't be here tonight.

Well, I I do have several questions, but not that I'd want to talk about over the phone or anything like that.

Yeah, sure. Um, I suppose we can approve them and then question them later or just not approve them. I don't know how you want to handle it.

Do approval pending questions being answered.

Yeah. Some of it may just be formatting on the report where the numbers are not correct and and that I can work with Tabby to make sure I understand what we've got going here.

Okay. Anybody else approve it depending on her.

Yeah, you know. Discussion with Tabby if you want to do that.

Anybody else have any questions about them?

I don't call her tomorrow with the special meeting.

That's why it won't be tomorrow cuz I'm getting eye surgery tomorrow.

Maybe next week but special meeting before the city hall meeting. That way I can have something to show the city hall.

Ah, okay.

That would have to be a special meeting or.

30 minute meeting.

Or perhaps I can just meet with Tabby and get my questions answered.

Then we wouldn't need a meeting without another commissioner there. Let's try that first.

Subject to Taby's answers.

Yeah.

That's what I get. You said an email. Yeah.

Any email for it once we figure it out.

Okay.

We have a motion to approve that on that basis.

Yes. I'll make a motion to to approve the financials based on subject to Taby's answers.

Okay.

And I'll second it.

Okay.

All in favor?

I.

All right. On the old business, Mr. Hall, you have the NAT meeting and the site build.

Yeah. So, the NATA meeting, um, I did join that this last week and, uh, so basically taking over Peggy's place. They didn't have me registered yet. Um, so now that they've got me, uh, in the system, uh, I'm basically just going to take her spot. I didn't realize it was going to be a uh a voting position. Uh, so on the on the board. Um, so that's really cool. You know, we'll be pretty involved. So, I'm excited to kind of get going. So, I'll be meeting them uh in August at their next meeting instead of doing a Zoom. I did the Zoom this time uh because I wasn't, you know, they didn't have me registered, but now I'm in their system and uh so I'll be representing the AMP Commission for the city and anything at that level has a voting position on the board. I didn't know that. I don't know if Peggy knew that.

She didn't tell me, but it doesn't matter. It was a good surprise. Whatever. It's good. So, it's great.

If you're interested in doing it, that's wonderful.

No, absolutely. So, I'll I'll have a lot more information after next uh month's meeting.

Okay.

All right.

Yeah, the.gov. So, we got that reserved and uh let me pull that back up real quick. Yeah. So, we uh I had to do a few attempts at it. Um there was quite a bit to go through on this.gov um site that you have to register it on. Uh, so we tried a few different names and the one that came through that they did accept is holiday island commission.gov. And so now that that's been approved, the web web builder has it. What we're going to have is just a simple uh Google uh site for it. That will be a link on the visit holiday island.com domain.

That she's that she's already built the site for, but we don't have the domain released yet. Uh from that which I've been working on for about a month. Uh so now that we have the.gov figured out and we're legal in that regard, uh that'll just be a link. I mean, it's going to have information of everything we need, but it will just be a link on the holiday island.com. I mean, you'll be able to find it indirectly by itself if you wanted to Google that.

Well, I didn't understand that. It'll be a link to.

Be on our visit holiday.

Yep. Uh once we have that established this link will go on that it'll it'll be its own website but it'll mainly be accessed through our visit holiday where directions from the audience. So that's the holiday island usite that is going to.

The visit holiday. No the visit holiday island.

Yeah, that's a different one.

To the city.

Uh no the the do well we will I didn't mean to say that we will have it on that site on that site. The link will be in multiple places, but for the sake of the AMP commission, it'll be on that. We'll still go direct directly to it. Did I do that now or is it not yet?

No, it's just now we just got it accepted this this week. So, she's going to build it out and and put that with it. Uh the other thing I was waiting on too is to actually now that it's reserved, I can't purchase it without the log to GoDaddy uh for the AMP commission. Do not log in person, but there's an actual profile set up there. So, I'm tracking that information. Holiday Island. That's correct. Holiday Island Commission.gov.

Oh, spell out Holiday Island.

Ah, spell it out. Okay.

Now, I said it won't pull up at this. We just got it reserved and we had to have the uh domain of the purchase of that profile that.

Could I'm so glad you picked that name because uh it for the city website.gov. Uh there's you have to choose between city name AR or cityname.gov. And uh it's all based on whether there's another city.gov in the US.

Right.

But there is none for Holiday Island. Thank God.

So many cities, you know, replicate across all the states.

So, you know, I was hoping you would use or that you would go ahead and do if you went ahead and got it that you would use.

Oh, yeah. Absolutely.

Without the AR.

Right. Yeah, I was able to apparently put me in a different category than you know actually.

That makes it possible for people to go there.

That's right. That's exactly that's how I wanted it to be. It's like it's got to be in there.

I'm not sure they would.

I mean they'll actual commission. Most likely they're going to get to the city site or the visibility and that's where all of our resources are going to go once that's filled with the SEO is in the visibility items page. So as long as we're directing everybody there including owners that.

That's right yes we're just trying to get it released now so we can move it over to this website. So yeah that's a good question but we'll be ready to go here pretty soon now that we've got that underway. Yep. I think so. That really the things I just.

Oh, one more thing. When I went to the municipal convention a few weeks ago, um, I did ask the question in they had a session that covered this kind of stuff. I did ask a question about whether uh a commission as part of cities across the state were required to also if they had a website use.gov and they said yes.

Yep. I got that email that went on the list and researched it myself and started calling around. It was real funny was within a 30 minute time period that I got a call from but they call back saying that we have to have it. So yeah.

No choice. Yeah, no choice had to have it. So it's just going to be a simple little cycle.

Right. And it was open open position on a commission a commission member at large. I had back people I'm talking with that I made by next month.

I I talked to somebody who is very very interested but does not live in Carol County. That's the only reason.

No, you have to be you have to be Carol County.

I mean, you right there on the Alpena land.

But who want to drive around?

I think those people in Alpena want to drive. So, all right. On the new position, new business, we need to make a amendment to a resolution. We've already voted on it to change our meeting up there every month. We just need and that's what this is a repeal repeal and replace resolution. Do we want to read it?

I think somebody has to move to approve it and then we can read it and discuss it. All right. I'll make a motion to approve it. Second. All in favor?

I.

All right. This is resolution HPC R25-203. A resolution amending the regular meeting day of the city of Holiday Island after promotion commission. Yeah. I I move we approve resolution HAPC R25023.

Do we do roll call vote?

Uh roll call. Yes.

Uh Commissioner Plumley.

Hi.

Commissioner Lawler.

Hi.

Commissioner I Commissioner Hall.

Hi.

Commissioner Douglas. Hi.

All approved. All right. All right. Any questions or comments? We didn't mention anything about the attorney on that. I do have another lead on that front. So maybe by next meeting we'll have all kinds of information together. Yeah. Right. Yeah, somebody that's fine with that. It's crazy how many attorneys don't want to deal with an AMP commission.

The the laws are very wishy-washy and I I can understand.

Right? Yeah, I know. It's all about the money. I know. I'm being real nice to.

Look at reports.

Well, for sure. Unless we get you know these things two or three of I see what y do we got two of them.

Back on track.

Yeah. Yeah. I think that they'll comply once most once they're notified this week actually that are just now getting bookings that are about to happen and don't have screen share. I'll do whatever we got to do. Get you on there.

We think we got it back on her right. You and I actually have done for.

Yeah, just a comment on that. Um, I don't know if it would be worth it, but you might want to talk to They have a legal determining you not to be able to find one.

I saw that meeting that actually specific for that.

Yeah, there wasn't much about.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll do that.

They have they have a whole team of least to give you.

That's right. Okay, I'll read that. You afraid to read the next one?

I scared. We committed.

Yeah. Excuse me. Let me um I did not write down who seconded the um motion to approve.

You did? I.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Okay.

Any more commission comments? I see we got ready Freddy here. Public comments.

Yes. I live and also vice president. I know you worked on a form for requesting funds. It's not consider this is what we're going to do.

I poured you I poured I did board you know all the.

Oh, did you? Yes, I did.

You didn't respond to me.

They already know what my.

Yeah, they know you and.

We got to figure out a formality to get it to get it done on that.

Well, I I'm not going to ask you to vote tonight. It's too much anyway. Uh just trying to give me a feeling. But here's my problem. I'm going to have to go ahead and order some of the advertising because we got to get Wicker Walker does some we've got some other I don't the biggest expense that we've got that's not already paid for by somebody or prizes that I want to give for costumes and for decorated houses. I don't want to put that on an advertisement if we're not going to have it. So, I can probably get it someplace else. Everybody else is pitched in. I mean, even sure, uh, the hay is being donated by Powels and Tyson is giving us some food. We've got the disc being paid for by HiA. So.

Good job.

A lot. And that's You read my memo. That's all I got to say.

Yeah. Yeah. I think we can figure out.

C4 of the statute say that's close enough. Right. Yeah, I saw that. Uh, I think we've been pretty supportive pretty quick. I'll get back on that. Find out where we.

Can if you can take it on an email or website.

Right. Absolutely.

Thank you guys.

If you think we'll open these up for you.

Oh, no. I think it's a.

I went through the the uh flash card that I copied from Peggy and I could not find a packet like what they gave plane air. I should be close to this. But the only thing I could find is she had a a checklist for us to go through on how to approve it and go through. So that's something.

Good. And uh but I could not find actual.

Forms.

And and pull from there and see where we got the email.

If she emailed.

Ah Oh, you think you could find that email? Okay, that would be worth a try. So, she attached a packet. That would be fabulous. And we just have to figure out how to recreate it. I'm sure it's out there somewhere. It just nowhere I could find it.

I think we did come up with a formula. Actually, it had one. It did. It had.

Anticipated number of people. Yeah. We neverated it approved it. So.

And then I think we had a followup after the event that you wanted to follow up on how it went. So.

Oh, that's the plane air copy.

We already got three minutes left.

Yeah, this was the.

That's the what?

We have to come back up.

Ah, okay. I remember that.

So, we've got some this have got to be somewhere because I.

It has our logo on it.

Yeah.

So, it has our logo on it. So, they've got to be somewhere and we'll just have to find that.

Okay. Yeah. The only the only thing I have from Peggy is the flash drive and it was not.

Do we have.

Well, and it may be in the file cabinet. So.

That's a possibility.

There's one.

This is.

Okay. There's a request for.

Yeah, this one has.

A little.

Let me I'm going to write on here that this is Sharon's copy.

We got a get a blank copy of it. We'll just keep save them somewhere that way.

I was going to say, yeah, we got the PDF for that.

Okay. Any more public comments? Any online comments? No. No comments. No comments. You have anything to say, Miss Linda? Any comments? Okay. Move on to scheduling. Next regular meeting is scheduled August 18th, 2025 at 6 p.m. as right now.

Yep.

Yeah, I'll go back through prior meeting stuff and see if I have some of this, but I I still think I'd rather find it online somewhere so we can reproduce it whenever we need it.

Yeah, that's it. If you can't if you can't find the PDF, you can scan this.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So, that's one way actually. Okay.

Well, with that then Sharon, I'll give you back your copy of the plane air one then. Don't send it to my city address. Send it to PL. No, it's not my own email address. I'll send you.

Yeah, you can send me. You got my email. There you go. And I'll reply to it. I can send you an email.

Yeah, that's why I'll use my address.

Yeah. My other one, too.

I know, right?

Yeah. Right.

That's one reason from my phone.

I do not like sending emails from my phone. Anything else? August meeting?

Yep.

That's Yeah, the next meeting.

Yep.

Okay.

Make a motion to approve that. That's what we need to do.

Yeah. Just scheduling.

Okay. Any announcements?

I probably jumped the gun earlier and already made them. So.

Uh, we need to change batteries on some of these.

That's a good time to say it when it's over.

Yeah.

Okay. Well, I have talked to some people out in the public. They're looking for things to do here. Guy mentioned a basketball court. He just love he does basketball court.

And he loves to hear the kids out playing basketball. He says basketball.

But he's talking about getting a bigger he says it's you hear kids out playing, you know, they're not in front of screen and they're not.

Play basketball. They're all the same size.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Great school, high school. Yeah.

We're gonna get a college one for college to play on.

Yeah, they talk stuff like that might.

Do here and all that.

Right. Sure.

He's uh I won't mention his name, but he's got.

Good. Yeah.

Good. Cool. Yep. I think so.

Who moved?

Nobody yet.

I move we adjourn.

I second it. All.

In favor? Hi.

Oh, yeah.

If you do, come to my house.
