I want to make sure the American people know that this administration when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein has been more transparent than any past administration than Biden was or anybody else. And what we did is we we complied with the law and if we learn a new material we will most certainly review it and make it available. When it comes to the the the victims of this horrible man we will never never not talk to victims. We will never not do everything we can to prosecute anybody that committed any crimes against any of these women. So that narrative is false.
That was Todd Blanche lying through his teeth at his confirmation hearing. Blanche says quote we complied with the law. That is a lie. The Epstein Files Transparency Act mandated the full release of the files by December 19th 2025. It is July of 2026. It's been more than 7 months. We still don't have the files. The man vying to be the nation's top law enforcement official is quite literally lying at his job interview in front of the entire country. In fact he goes on to distort the truth even more here.
"How many uh pages of the so-called Epstein files uh has the department released?"
"Nearly 3 million."
"How many more pages are there that are responsive?"
"We're not aware of any."
"How about that in the department's uh opinion are not responsive?"
"Well, from what we collected about 3 million that were just nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein or or the case at all."
"Okay. Why don't you just release everything? Just let it rip."
"Well, that would be against the law because the only reason we could have released the 3 million that we did is because of the Epstein Transparency Act. There are federal laws that prohibit the release of of case files and the Epstein Transparency Act was very explicit and specific about what could be and should be released."
"Why don't you just release everything?" And Blanche says, well, that would be against the law. My dude, that literally is the law. The law mandates the release of all the files. Not half, not three-quarters, all of them. Only excluding documents or sections that expose victim information. That's it. To claim that Todd Blanche is gaslighting would be an insult to gaslighting.

But it got worse for Todd Blanche.
"Will you meet with him within the next 30 days? The last time I asked a question, you can say yes or no."
"on answering it the same way. Um, I can meet with them. My staff will meet with them. We have a staff member here today who specializes in"
"you meet with them?"
"Um, I'm not sure what you're looking for me to say. As I said, um, there are there are there are"
Yes, apparently Todd Blanche's time is only reserved for important meetings like the one he had with Ghislaine Maxwell. And I previewed Todd Blanche's gaslighting on CNN with Kaitlan Collins just days ago.
"Brian Tyler Cohen, you're new at the table. Welcome. Uh, you also have a new book out out tomorrow, I believe it is, The Day After, How to Win Power in a Post-Trump World. Obviously, we're still in this Trump world in this moment. And what are you going to be looking for for Democrat from Democrats this week during that hearing?"
"Look, I think Todd Blanche has a lot of questions that he has to answer for. Especially, you know, we're we're talking about the the IRS situation, but there's also uh, the Epstein situation. I mean, remember, Todd Blanche went and spoke with Ghislaine Maxwell. We don't know what he spoke to her about, but suddenly, in the immediate aftermath of that discussion, she was moved from a prison in Florida to a low-security prison in Texas. There is also there there there remains all of these questions about what the Trump administration is doing with regards to the Epstein file Transparency Act. That law uh mandated that all those files have to be released on December 19th, 2025, if I'm not mistaken. 7 months ago. And and so I would I would imagine that the reason Todd Blanche is there is because if you have somebody who already has experience being more deferential to his client, then it really helps you to have that person atop the DOJ, the same DOJ that's in the process of suppressing these files. Again, Todd Blanche is auditioning for this role not because he is qualified, impartial, or honest, but expressly because he is not. As I said on CNN, the whole point of his nomination is that Donald Trump knows he can trust him on this one issue in particular. Trump doesn't want somebody who's going to release the full files. He needs somebody who he knows won't. And if there's any doubt as to where Todd Blanche's loyalties lie, he put them on full display here."
"Are you and President Trump friends?"
"I'm his lawyer. Was his lawyer."
This is the equivalent of saying the wrong woman's name in bed. Todd Blanche says that he wants to be Attorney General of the United States, but he just can't quit being Donald Trump's personal criminal defense attorney. And so this is the entire game put on full display. Todd Blanche isn't trying to curry favor with those Republican senators, and certainly not with the Democratic senators, because they're not his audience. None of them are. His audience is one man. It's Donald Trump. He is performing for an audience of one. And he knows that if Trump ordains it, the rest of the GOP is going to blindly follow. And so it doesn't matter if his answers are disqualifying. It doesn't matter if his answers are contemptuous. It doesn't matter if he is insolent or dishonest or dishonorable because those aren't the qualities that Trump is looking for. They're not the qualities Trump values. Trump values loyalty to him. He wants a henchman and Todd Blanche is broadcasting that that is exactly what he'll be able to deliver for Trump. Even if it means losing his own livelihood as he was confronted with here.
"The judge in Florida referred your misconduct. She concluded that there was misconduct and misrepresentation and improper purpose in that legal action to the bar of New York for potential discipline including losing your law license. I know you disagree with the result of the ruling. Has that kind of referral ever happened by a federal judge for an attorney general of the United States?"
"Can you"
"I don't know, but I'll tell you something. Um, that judge never asked us to respond. She never gave us an opportunity to respond to anything and she didn't refer me. She just asked that a copy of the order be provided to the New York bar because there's several activist groups that have filed complaints against me. So, so listen, I as I've said earlier, I I think anybody on this committee, especially the lawyers that have practiced, can read that opinion and reach their own conclusions, but I very much disagree um, with with the judges um, insinuations about me um, and and we're going to do what we can to make that right."
For the record, he is again lying. He was 100% referred to New York bar for disciplinary proceedings. But of course, lying isn't a fluke. It is the whole job for Blanche. He's in that seat not because he's honest, but expressly because he is not. So look, I have little to no doubt that Todd Blanche will be confirmed as attorney general. Again, not because he's qualified, but because Republicans have decided that they have no more autonomy even as a co-equal branch of government. And so their sole job is to keep him fat and happy, Donald Trump. The downside though is that just as they've contracted their autonomy to Trump, they too own the consequences of Trump's edicts. They too own the fact that there will be a corrupt attorney general suppressing the Epstein files, protecting pedophiles, something that used to be a red line for Republicans in office and certainly remains a red line for Republicans out in the electorate. But the Republicans in office also going to own the fact that this attorney general didn't just allow but literally negotiated a settlement where Trump could sue and win against his own federal government to the tune of billions. The American people aren't stupid and they can see the blatant corruption happening in broad daylight. Todd Blanche is only the latest in a very very clear pattern of Donald Trump hiring the most corrupt people to do the most corrupt things.
