The Most Important Thing To Know When Buying A House

A lot of people have come up to me since and said, "You helped me find a house." Which is don't ask for what you want because if it's what everybody else wants, that's expensive. You're competing for the same thing.

Instead, ask what you either want or don't care about that other people really don't like. And so, next to a railway track, a lot of people hate it. There's actually a section in where he has this plan to move next to the Arsenal Stadium because, you know, he goes, "Most people would really hate being next to a football stadium, but I can't think of anything better."

I mean, if you're a plane spotter, right, go and live in the Heathrow Flight Park cuz the houses are really cheap. Everybody else hates the fact there are planes going over, but you'll be there with your nerdy little radio tuning into the bloody, you know, tuning into the control tower and you'll be like a pig in won't you? Going, oh, Speedbird 450's got rather a lot of flap down, right?

There was an estate agent. I write about this guy called Roy Brooks, 1960s and '7s, who only advertised in the Sunday Times and the Observer. And his whole shtick was he was unbelievably rude about the properties he was selling. And it was all a list of the negatives.
