Hi, it's Robin Sharma, and this is your Morning Mastery meditation on the universal truths of greatness.
So, I want you to pause and breathe in deeply through your nose and exhale fully through your mouth. Keeping your eyes gently closed, breathe in deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Breathe in gratitude, release insecurity. Breathe in optimism, release any timidity. Breathe in confidence, release all worry. Breathe in creativity, release any form of mediocrity. Breathe in tranquility, exhale volatility. Breathe in strength, release all weakness.
I want you to breathe even more deeply in, in through your nose, and let go of any remaining tension you may be carrying by breathing out through your mouth. You're starting to feel much more peaceful, much more centered, much more grounded. You do feel strong. You do feel fearless. You do feel creative. You're not holding on to anything from yesterday that no longer serves you because you realize, right now, this morning is the beginning of a fresh day, a platform for possibility, and a whole new shot at greatness.
You know, the hours ahead will be focused, free from distraction. They will be productive. You'll bring curiosity to the remaining hours ahead of you. You'll bring fire and conviction, integrity, honor, grace, audacity, originality, ingenuity, and your finest self.
The first insight and universal truth I want you to meditate on, reflect on, and embrace right now is that anyone who has hurt you in the past did the best that they could do based on the consciousness they were at. And if they knew better, they would have done better. It's rarely about you when people disappoint you, and more about what's going on for them: their insecurities, their limiting beliefs, their frustrations, their lack of self-respect, and their lack of self-love. If anyone has hurt you yesterday or any time in the past, let it go because forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself.
So, breathe in forgiveness and release any resentment you may be carrying within your heart. Set to anyone around you, and breathe in more peace. Release any insecurity. Breathe in more confidence and release any resentments from the past. Really let go of any pain or frustration you might be carrying so that you move into this fresh day fully alive, fully present to opportunities, and with a grateful heart for all the blessings you have in your life.
The second universal truth I invite you to meditate on and contemplate around is this one: Why wait for heroes in the world to show up when you have the gifts and talents within you to become one of them? No matter where you are in your life right now, whether you're on the top of the mountain or in the valley of darkness, you have primal genius within you. You have strengths and powers you may not have embraced yet. You're stronger than you know, and the past has served you to make you who you currently are. To be a leader in the world is less about having a title and more about owning your natural powers and your inherent greatness.
No matter where you live, no matter what you do, no matter what you've experienced, today is a fresh day, and it begins by your mindset and your heart set and your health set and your soul set—the four interior empires—and how you calibrate them this very morning. You have it in you to be a hero to those around you and to even those who don't know you. You can curse the darkness, or you can be one of the rare few who light a candle. Mother Teresa said it so beautifully: she said, "If everyone would only sweep their own doorstep, our whole world would be clean." And Mahatma Gandhi said it equally beautifully when he noted, "Be the change you wish to see within the world." Own your heroic nature this morning. Celebrate all that you've become rather than focusing on what you haven't achieved and who you're not. Honor all you are and the wins that you've accomplished.
Breathe in confidence, breathe out weakness. Breathe in strength, breathe out insecurity. Breathe in glory, breathe out resentment. Breathe in energy, release all apathy. Breathe in your next level of creativity, breathe out steady stagnation and complacency. Own the fact you have been constructed for world-class and in your own unique way, you will make your mark on the world, beginning today.
And with this morning meditation for your mastery, the third universal truth I want you to meditate on is this one: Genius is less about genetics, and genius is more about your daily habits. And so today, as you advance through your hours, I know and trust you will make heroic choices in terms of the thoughts that you think, in terms of the food that you eat, in terms of the caliber of your work, in terms of the way you fortify your health, in terms of the way you interact with other human beings, in terms of the way you treat yourself, and in terms of the way that you occur in the world.
Breathe in strong willpower, breathe out procrastination. Breathe in the embrace of excellent habits today, breathe out any form of mediocrity. Breathe in your stand for rare-air performance, breathe out poor routines. Breathe in faith for yourself because no one will believe in you until you fully believe in you. Breathe out self-doubt.
This brings me to the fourth universal truth I invite you to embrace this morning: Life is short. Do big things. One of the greatest regrets on the last hour of our last day is that our fear was larger than our faith, and that we didn't express the gifts and talents that currently lie within you. You see, the pain of regret over a life half-lived is always so much bigger than the insecurity that you'll feel as you go blue ocean towards your highest dreams and greatest visions.
So connect in this moment to the shortness of life, and that's an inspirational consideration. Knowing that life is short, no matter how long you get to live, will fill you with inspiration. It'll focus your ambitions. It'll bring a positive urgency to the day ahead of you. It will allow you to show up fully. It will allow you to take calculated and intelligent risks towards your best life. Knowing the shortness of life, you'll connect with your wisdom versus being busy being busy. Today, you'll achieve excellent results. You won't play small, and you'll be kinder to everyone that you meet.
Which brings me to the final universal truth that I offer to you in this morning Mastery meditation, which is: The way you begin your day sets up how well you live it. This time right now, as we come to the end of the meditation, is the beginning of you starting your day on the highest possible note. Take great care of your thinking. Nurture your heart set through some gratitude work. Insulate your health set through exercise, hydration, good nutrition, and perhaps above all else, purify your soul set so you live today for a mighty mission that is even larger than yourself. Because to lead is to be of use, and what makes heroes is the degree of their helpfulness.
I wish you all green lights today, and I know you'll make today absolutely world-class.
