[Music] Sunday reset routine. This week is actually my birthday week; it's kind of scary to drive. [Music]
In hello everyone, welcome back to my channel. Another day, another Vlog. So you guys, welcome to yet another Sunday reset routine. Yeah, Sundays are honestly one of my favorite days of the week. It's basically my designated reset day where I just refresh, deep clean my entire space, and just set myself up for the week. So yeah, I'm going to take you guys with me through my little routine. We're going to be starting off with a deep apartment clean, which your girl is in much need of because my apartment, she is in no condition to start the week off productive. So we're going to get that out of the way.
First things first, before any good apartment clean, you have to put your hair up. Because if you know, you know a deep clean means you're probably going to be sweating. Next, choose your beverage of choice that will give you a little boost of energy. It could be a matcha, coffee, tea; I'm going to go with a little energy drink. This is the coconut Berry Red Bull, guys, one of my favorite flavors. If you never tried it, you have to; it is so bomb. Cheers!
All righty guys, class is in session. I'm going to put you guys on to my favorite little hack now for any of my Sunday reset routines, and it is having a to-do list on my fridge. You guys, I got this magnetic whiteboard off of Amazon for like 10 bucks. I'll have it linked in my storefront below for you guys. Having a to-do list on my fridge—life-changing. Okay, like I know it sounds so simple, but it works. I'm someone, I'm very visual; if it's not right in front of me, it's not getting done. So honestly, having a to-do list with everything just organized of what I'm supposed to get done for the day, and I actually get it done instead of just going with the flow because I always forget something that I need to do. But with the to-do list, you remember [Music] everything.
All right, my to-do list is done, and I always put little boxes before anything I need to do so that when I get it done, I can just check it off. And I know this concept sounds so simple, but trust me, it works. Okay, something about checking something off, it just makes me feel so much more accomplished. Like I feel like this is very elementary school, but guys, this is a system that works for me, and call me a fifth grader because I love my little whiteboard and my markers.
All righty guys, let's get to [Music] cleaning.
All right, you guys, I'm about to get started on my dishes. But fun fact, I do not like doing dishes. I'm sure it's not just me. I just, something about them, I'm like, ever since I was young, it wasn't my favorite chore in the world. So to make the time go by faster, I always like to watch something or listen to something while I'm doing my dishes. So right now, I just put on the Mel Robins podcast, and that's what we're going to talk about in today's episode, the Let Them Theory. But yeah, if there's a chore that you don't really feel like doing, I'm telling you, throw on like a productive podcast or something that's going to keep you entertained. That way you can be double productive; you're learning something, but also getting your dishes done, and it just really helps the time go by way faster. And in this, since this one, if they are not showing up how you need them. [Music] [Music] And the Let Them Theory is a let that you can pull so you can create more peace and and love and all of it.
Okay, so I was in the middle of cleaning; I wanted to pause and just talk to you guys for a little bit because this podcast, I just learned so much from her just now. You don't know Mel Robins; she's actually a self-help author. I'm going to have this episode linked in my description for you guys so you guys can go ahead and watch it because wow, she just spits some facts. Okay, this episode is actually about the Let Them Theory. If you never heard of it, it's basically, let's say you have a group of friends, and they go ahead and go hang out without you and leave you out—let them. Let's say that you really, really wanted this job, but they reject you—let them. Let's say that you go on a date with somebody, but then they don't want a long-term relationship—let them. So that is literally what the Let Them Theory is; it's letting go and letting situations happen because the minute you start stressing and trying to control a situation, number one, the worse you feel, but also number two, you are letting yourself be controlled by the situation. And I'm telling you, I, a chronic overthinker. Okay, I overthink every little thing, every little action. I always used to worry, do they like me? Am I doing this right? Am I good enough? Why, why doesn't she want to be friends with me? Just all these doubts and overthinking in my head. The Let Them Theory literally says, shh, quiet the noise and just let the situation play out. The best thing that you can do is to let them, and then do what you can about the situation. Does that make sense? I feel like I just went on a whole rant there; I'm so sorry, but I just needed to share that with you guys because honestly, she just gave some golden nuggets in this video, and I wanted to share with you guys. But this is just your sign that you know, listening to self-help books and and podcasts and things like that, it can actually be really productive. [Music] [Music]
All right, guys, I wanted to do a quick little gym fit [Music] check. I just love a good all-black fit. I don't know, something about an all-black fit, it makes you feel so sleek. I kind of feel like a ninja working out. Full fit is from Young La, for her you can use code Lina Yeo for money off.
Hello guys, so right now I'm headed to the dermatologist because if you don't know, your girl has eczema, and during the winter it gets really bad, so I need to get some stuff for it at the dermatologist for my eczema. I really have eczema, and then we'll check back in in about 6 months. Okay, so good, thank you. It's like disrespectfully cold right now; I'm freezing. But this episode of Cafe Chronicles, I have some work to do, so I'm going to go to a cafe around here I found on Google Maps, so hopefully it'll be cute. It's called Harz; it has some good reviews, so let's go check her [Music] out.
Can I do the pistachio latte? [Music] [Applause]
So I just ordered their pistachio latte. This place is called Pat, I hope I'm saying that right. First of all, look how fancy. I think this is the most gorgeous latte I've ever received. I asked the lady at the front what their most popular coffee was, and she told me it was their iced pistachio latte, so we're going to give her a try. That is delicious. Oh my God, guys, this is so good. I'm not—not even—wow, it's [Music] [Applause] hitting.
I am craving steak and fries. I was scrolling on TikTok and saw it, and then I was like, I need some right now. So we're going to go to the grocery store to pick up ingredients. I also texted my brother; he's going to come over for dinner, so we're both going to have some steak and fries. He makes the best steak, so I told him to come over; he's going to help me cook. But first, we got to get the ingredients, so let's go. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Whatever, that's why she like [Music] always okay. Steak master. [Music] [Applause] [Music]
All right, guys, we're finally done the steak and the homemade fries, and also the chimichurri. It took us so long; it is currently 10:30 p.m., and we just [Music] finished. Oh [Music] yeah, it's my first time making homemade fries; they're so much better than any fry I've ever had. Making homemade fries takes forever, but it's honestly worth it; it's so good. Thank you so [Music] much. What the heck, this is so sweet. You guys, he just surprised me with this. Oh my gosh, Leo, no, how cute will you be my Valentine with the cake pop? It's so cute. He knows me; he knows me so well, and I love these too; these are like my favorite chocolates. These are so cute; this is you and me. This guy, lighter one, look at—I don't know why he likes the K-pop. Look at this guy; it's not for you. I'm sorry. This week is actually my birthday week. Shout out to all my February babies, my winter babies. But yeah, for my birthday, my boyfriend actually surprised—a little surprise getaway, which I'm so, so excited about. He told me about it last night, and I barely could sleep 'cause I'm so excited. We're staying at like a cabin, and we are bringing my cats, P and Leo; we're going to be staying there for 3 days, so I'm really excited. We are going to leave in an hour, and I still haven't packed yet, so that is what we're starting [Music] with.
Got this little carriage to take the cats. Cat number one, cat number two, success. Let's go. Right now we're picking up the rental car to drive up. Wew, it [Music] smells so—Pika is actually really good in the car; she's really used to being in the car since she was a kitten, but Leo, he's not really used to it. I gave him some like anxiety calming drops to help him, but we'll see if it helps him. By the way, if you're wondering why my boyfriend's not driving, it's because he actually broke his toe. Yeah, he has like a poor toe, bro. I haven't driven in so long; it's kind of scary to drive in New York; I'm not going to lie. Right, let's go road trip, road trip. [Music]
Guys, this is the cutest little cabin I've ever seen. This kitchen, they have these stairs. Julo is exploring already; he's excited. Wow, this bathroom is so nice, you guys. They have a fireplace. Okay, oh my gosh, this is the most gorgeous cabin. Look how nice; there's a little bathtub in here. Oh my gosh, I'm obsessed. I would live in this cabin, you guys. Like it is the nicest. I mean, I didn't really stay at a cabin before, but I'm pretty sure this is the nicest one. [Music] [Music]
Good morning, you guys. Excuse the bare face; I haven't even washed my face yet. It was snowing during the nighttime, so it literally looks like a winter wonderland. Look how gorgeous. It's Leo's first time looking at snow; I'm surprised he's not freezing. Are you having fun? [Music]
All right, you guys, so I'm currently sitting in front of this mirror about to do my makeup on the floor. This feels like such a throwback to when I was in college. I was living in a tiny, tiny room; it was literally a box. The real ones know, and I literally didn't have any space in that room, and so I would always just do my makeup on the floor in front of my mirror. So this feels like a little throwback, but honestly, I kind of missed it. Also, the lighting in here is like gorgeous; everything about this place, gorgeous. Yeah, this little cabin getaway trip is everything I wanted and more. It's currently snowing right now; quiet yet serene; it's so peaceful. As much as I love living in a city, it's it's just kind of overstimulating sometimes when you're there for too long. There's so many people, cars in New York City; there's rats, and so it's just kind of nice to get away for a little bit and enjoy the nature, especially because the cats are here. It's just been so much fun; they have been having the best time here; they've been running around chasing each other, and it's just so much bigger space obviously than my little New York City apartment, so they've been having the best time. I was actually so surprised that my cats knew how to run up and down the stairs because they've never been to a house with stairs. Comment down below where you guys are from; I'm always so curious where you guys are watching from. You guys, I feel like are from all over the country, all over the world, and I want to know if you live in like a city that's very busy or if you live in more of like a suburb, what you prefer. I grew up around the city my whole life, so I feel like it's just something that I'm used to, and I thought that I would always prefer living in a city. Being here, it's kind of changing my opinion; I'm like, this is so nice being in nature. You feel more gratitude; you feel more at peace; I feel so much less anxious here. I think I'm definitely going to try to do more getaways and like quick little trips away from New York City. If you guys want to see more Vlogs like this, you guys let me know, and I will do it. Yeah, this is just such a nice trip; it's for my birthday. My birthday is actually tomorrow, February 5th. Shout out to any of you who are also winter babies. Even though I'm a winter baby, I'm actually so not a winter person; like it is my least favorite season in New York; it's freezing; it hurts to even go outside; it hurts your face. I feel like this cabin trip getaway is changing my mind; I'm like, winter is kind of a vibe; like the snow, it's so beautiful.
Yeah, glam is done; I'm ready for the day. So we are here in the kitchen; we're about to make some breakfast. Well, he says that he wants to make me breakfast and to not cook, so I'm going to let him do his thing. Let's get this. So this is what we have on the menu today; we're going to make a granola bowl with blueberries, strawberries, some eggs. I'm excited; I love breakfast food. Taking too long; just press the red button again, and then you could just restart. I'm teaching him how to be a blogger; I'm getting a top at the best.
All right, guys, so this is everything we have: blueberries, raspberries, guacamole, salsa for the eggs, and then we'll see what we can put together. [Music] Here. Happy birthday to you. Woo! We're about to have my birthday cake. This is actually an ice cream cake. I grew up, like my mom would always get this for me for my birthday 'cause I love ice cream cake. Now that I'm very grown, I want an ice cream cake again, so we got the fireplace going on. Now we're about to make some [Music] s'mores. Isn't this so convenient? My boyfriend got me this phone case for my birthday; I literally love it because whenever I need lip gloss, it's right here, ready for me. But yeah, right now I'm actually headed to Brooklyn; we are actually going to a cycling event sponsored by Red Bull, and if you know me, you know I love my Red Bull energy drinks; they're so good. And the real ones know that my New Year's goal was actually to try more workout classes around New York City, and one of you recommended cycling to me, and and I've done like one cycling class before and never again, and that was like years ago, so I don't even remember if I liked it that much, but I guess we'll see today, so I'm excited. They told us to wear all black, and you guys already know I'm an all-black girly, so that was not hard to find. So yeah, let's [Music] go.
So good guys, zero sugar. [Music] She—hello my beautiful people. So your girl is about to get ready for my birthday dinner with my family. I'm just doing a quick little light touch-up for my makeup because I have to leave in like literally 30 minutes. But yeah, I actually got back from my little birthday cabin trip yesterday, and you guys, it was everything I wanted and more. Okay, I couldn't have dreamt of a better way to spend my birthday at a legitimate cabin in the middle of the woods. And your girl actually vlogged the entire cabin trip. I didn't put the whole thing in this Vlog obviously because it would literally be 3 hours long, and I'm not sure if you guys want to hear me yapping for 3 hours long. So I'm actually going to post a whole separate video of the cabin trip, so if you're a real one, go ahead and watch that; it's probably going to come after this video. But yeah, I just cannot believe I'm standing here today saying that I am 25 years old. I feel so grown, guys. I'm telling you, as soon as I hit 25, it's like my frontal lobe, she started lobing, and I just feel so much more mature. I feel older. Me, even having a small little cabin trip just with my partner and celebrating my birthday in such a low-key way is not something that younger Lena would ever imagined for myself. Fact: for as long as I can remember growing up, loved celebrating my birthday, and I would always make it such a big thing. Every birthday I would always want a party; I would always want a ton of people there. And growing up, I thought that that's what made me happy. I don't know, as I started getting older, I started maturing—um, I have zero desire to have a birthday party. I'm going to be really honest, and I think part of it is because the reason why I was throwing big parties and wanting to invite everyone is because I felt very lonely, and I felt like I didn't really have many friends, and so my birthday party was kind of an excuse to have a bunch of people show up for me because it's my birthday. In reality, I actually wasn't even having a good time during my birthday because I would be so worried about if other people were having fun, if they were enjoying my birthday, how many people showed up. I'm going to be so honest with you guys; it was an insecurity, okay, because I was insecure, and I knew that a lot of the times I was really struggling to make friends, and so having a big birthday party made me feel less lonely, if that makes sense. But let me tell you now that I am older, guys, I love a low-key moment. Since the frontal lobe is lobing, and now I don't feel a pressure to make it seem like I have friends, and I don't feel like I need to have a bunch of friends. I really just enjoy celebrating my birthday very low-key with my family, my close friends, just to spend time with them, and that's really it. Now that I'm older and more mature, you know, I think I'm going to stick to the low-key birthday, and because I realize that that is what honestly truly makes me happy. If any of you are younger than me and you want some big sister Lena advice, I would say the biggest advice I can give you: all of that energy you put in trying to get people to like you, trying to make friends, trying to get that one boy to like you, take back all that energy and put it into yourself and bettering yourself and being the best version of yourself that you like yourself so much you do not care if you have a bunch of friends, if you have a boyfriend. And you are going to look back and be so proud of yourself that you chose you because you are your best investment. Actually films whole video about 25 lessons I learned before 25; go ahead and watch that if you're a real one. Matter of fact, if you're not subscribed already, what are you doing? Okay, what are you doing? Go subscribe right now; that will be my little birthday gift, you subscribing. I love little like life lessons or quotes to live by. If you guys have any others to share with the rest of us girlies, leave them in the comments down below. If you actually watch till the end of this video, you're a real one, and I want you to comment down below this emoji so I know that you're a real one and actually stayed. And here is the final look. [Music] You know what I mean? [Music] Wow, are you kidding? Thank you. I love [Music] you. Oh my [Music] gosh. Oh, taking a right to join. Good God.
